Can y'all pray for me? Nothing serious but I keep fudging up post partum healing. Again.
I'm bad at resting because I do this to some degree after every child.

St Dymphna will forever (ironically) drive me insane (in a good way).
Her mother died when she was only 14, and she had to watch her father Damon as his mental health deteriorated. He got so bad that he began to lust after her - she who was the image of her mother - so she was forced to flee to continental Europe.
There, she set up a hospital for the poor and the sick. Did she see her father’s face in those who came to her for help? Did she blame herself for not being enough to prevent her father’s decline? Did she devote herself to ensure a case like his would never happen again?
Either way, he would eventually find her. A trail of the money she had taken and used in charity had made its way back to her Damon’s agents in Ireland. Had her good deeds been her undoing?
After slaughtering her companion Gerebernus, who had helped her escape in the first place, Damon tried to force his daughter to come with him. She resisted. She had sworn herself to God, to a vow of chastity. In anger, Damon killed her.
She is now a patron saint of mental health and illness. You can visit her relics in Belgium. I keep thinking about her. Saint Dymphna, pray for us.

A high school teacher in my city was just arrested for sex-related crimes with students. Not at my school but I know people who go there—please pray for the victims and the community as a whole.

Please spare a prayer for my husband's uncle if you can. He's in the process of dying and probably only has another day or so left.

Hello people of the internet. One of my personal goals for 2023 is a to document and share my faith journey in hopes of inspiring others to fall in love with the Catholic Church and as a way to hold my self accountable in my walk with the Lord. So if you’re interested in reading my ramblings and reflections of the daily Gospel/random Bible passages I am praying about/even reflections on writings of saints/spiritual books I am currently reading, feel feee to follow me.
Also, if anyone has intentions they would like to be prayed for, feel free to drop me a message/ask. ☺️
Blessed 2023, may you be filled with the joy and peace of the Lord in the year ahead.

Please pray for me, tomorrow morning will be my first shift back at my hospital after I was assaulted by one of my patients. I am incredibly anxious about being hurt again, especially since this is a very frequent issue at my job and another nurse was also out due to being assaulted at the same time I was.

Lord, I give everything to You.
I don't want to, but I want to want to.
I give You this fear.
I give You this anxiety.
I give You you my stress.
I give You my dreams.
I give You my hope because You are my hope.
I give You my unease.
I give You my wants.
I trust You to love me because I know You always have.
I trust You with everything because You are good.
I trust in You.

Seven Days of Catholic Social Teaching
DAY 3: The Common Good
The common good means that the fruits of the earth belong to everyone. No one should be excluded from the gifts of creation. Pope Paul VI spoke about this 50 years ago in his encyclical Populorum Progressio. St Ambrose said, "You are not making a gift of your possessions to the poor person. You are handing over to them what is theirs."
Sonia Sanchez is an environmental defender in El Salvador. She has been involved in a project, supported by our partners and the EU, to protect people who face personal threats for their efforts to stand up for human rights. Sonia says, “Humankind has always put money at the centre of everything. But when we think about our relationship with the natural resources, we see that life should be at the centre of everything. When we reflect on this we realise that we are part of life, we are not the owners and masters of it.”

HOW WE BECAME PRIESTS
“You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.” — Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 7:17 Like almost all peoples throughout history, the Jewish people believed that sacrifice was one of the essential elements for dealing with sin and setting humanity free (see Lv 4:13-14). The person who offers sacrifices to God on behalf of the people is called a priest. Thus, priests are an essential part…

God,
Thank you for calling me by name and sending me in your name. I want to confidently follow You, but sometimes, I struggle to see myself the way You see me. When I get overwhelmed by my insecurities, remind me that I belong to You. Fill me with your peace so that I joyfully, and boldly, go wherever You send me.
Amen.
