Scott Livingston: The creative and iterative process is such an amazing thing to watch.

Do you pay attention to it in your practice when working with your clients?

Knowing what your client is trying to accomplish with their body is exceptionally important.

Sometimes your client doesn't possess the capability (how) or capacity (how much) to perform the movements they want to perform.

But sometimes the creative process demands that they explore these corners.

The human body is exceptionally good at compensating, but compensating catches up with you.

Being informed of your client's process is exceptionally important so that you can help them navigate the demands and prepare them to do what they seek to do.

The final product of Scott+Tessa's short program didn't look exactly as they had conceived early on.

But, by being privy to the experiment, we were able to ensure they could do what they wished to do with good health and good performance.

You want tactics United fans? Get Højlund the ball, that’s the bulk of what we need to do. 😂 We don’t even have to put it on a platter for him; that’s why I wanted him. Carragher was asking the other day what his trick is…he doesn’t have one, that’s why he so dangerous. You don’t know when he’ll shoot or how he’ll shoot, but you probably aren’t stopping him once he shoots. All you have to do is get him the ball and he’ll do the rest. Ruud Van Nistlerooy was very similar, and like Ruud, he’s also got the mind to link up with his teammates which is exactly what Ten Hag’s system requires.

We finished third last season because Weghorst fit the system and the team thrived on it even though he personally didn’t. He still started regularly because Ten Hag ball is TEAM ball; that’s why one player alone isn’t the answer. Now imagine what happens when you put a true finisher in the same position putting in the same selfless effort. You create shooting opportunities all over the place because he’s not always going to be shooting so you don’t know who to mark. Weghorst had plenty of opportunities and didn’t finish them but Rashford did, that’s why he was so prolific. When we got away from that and reverted back to Moments FC our offensive creation suffered.

If we get fit and keep building on this foundation, we’re going to start having a lot of fun. People get confused when Ten Hag talks about us being the most creative and exciting team but I believe he’s speaking the future into existence, which is something many successful people do. He knows what he wants to build, and he knows what he’s capable of building. He knows the advantage of being at United is that he won’t have to constantly deal with other clubs destroying what he builds by taking his players. This is his dream job, and we just have to support him as he builds his dream. He doesn’t just want to win here, he wants to repeat again and again and we’re finally building the structure around him to do it.

So just be patient, it’s coming. I wasn’t surprised by Aston Villa’s success this season because they have 5 players that were on my radar in their squad and they just needed the right manager to put it together. United has the manager, now we just need the players. 🧐

i know that jesse armstrong is more than capable of knowing when to end a series but the way it was announced that season 4 is going to be the last one kind of made me feel like the whole process behind it is a bit sketchy. they only revealed that s4 is the last one only a month before the premiere, even after posting teaser trailers that never even hinted at the season being the last, and even the cast got the news only during the table read for the final episode. the promotion of season 4 has been disappointing especially when compared to season three. while the actors are not the ones writing the show, most of them have been very clear that they could have seen the show go on for another season and their disappointment over the show ending has been clear as day. while an ambiguous ending will be a very fitting end to succession and i am not against it, i am definitely wondering if the decision to finish with season 4 was something that developed during the filming process instead of it being a clear guideline throughout the creative process of season 4.

Scott Livingston: Do you see the intention of this exercise and what it is trying to affect?

Exercise is not always about overloading the muscles to produce higher degrees of force.

Sometimes exercise is about ensuring that certain attributes of movement remain consistent and available under load.

In this skating movement, there is a requirement for the front side lunging hip to open up, go into flexion, and accept the load (dissociation) while the pelvis remains consistently under the trunk.

The trunk must remain linked to the pelvis (association).

And the back side hip needs to extend significantly, but not impede the movement of the pelvis as it follows the front side hip (dissociation).

All of this is done with speed and grace.

We can train these attributes and load these attributes in the gym to ensure they remain clean and available under load (capability and capacity).

as much as I love the Messiah, there are definitely parts which are a bit boring and Händel has just stretched it out for too long and repeats the phrase over and over and idk if this was supposed to be an opportunity for vocalists to demonstrate their virtuosity and add embellishments so typical of the baroque. but it's boring. move on we get the point. and then. then. we get to "...the chastisement, the chastisement of our peace was upon him" and it's simply the most beautiful harmony and the way the voices echo each other and weave together, oh, how wonderful those few bars are ! but Händel just moves past it. we don't get to bask in it, or savour it. it's like the clouds part allowing but for the briefest moment the sun to shine through, and then we're back to wading through numerous repetitions of "and with his stripes we are healèd" urgh
