Monthly Jewels: June || Pearl
The Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings
Tumblr media
The then princess Elizabeth received a haul of royal jewels as wedding gifts. Among them was a cache of seven pearls, presented in a shell, a gift from the Hakim of Bahrain.
At some point shortly after the royal wedding, two of the Bahraini pearls were used to make a new pair of earrings. The earrings feature round diamond studs, from which are suspended round- and baguette-cut diamonds in an arrangement typical of the late 1940s. The pearls are used as drops on the earrings.

Daughter of Steel and Bronze ~ HOTD
Targaryen!OC Headcanons
Princess Daena's personal style during her youth
HOTD masterlist
Tumblr media
This will cover Daena's youth and her style while she was still a maiden and before her marriage and pregnancies (110-115 AC)
She grew up in a time of decadence when the Targaryens were at the peak of their power and wealth
Plus she is a Princess of House Targaryen and her uncle is the King, ofc she's spoiled to the core
Lots of jewelry! Earrings, necklaces, rings, headbands covered in pearls and gems, you name it she owns it
Variety of precious stones and gems; amethyst, sapphires, diamonds, moonstones, pearls, opals, jade; but mostly rubies and red garnets.
Silver compliments her fair skin the best but also wears gold
Owns a special necklace of Valyrian steel given to her by her father, Prince Daemon
Owns plenty of chunky, chandelier necklaces with big gems - she mostly wears these in court
When she's hunting or flying she wears dainty earrings or studs so they don't mess with her hair
Has a habit of playing with her earrings when she's nervous
Wears at least 3-4 rings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, outfits
Silks, velvet, Myrish lace - nothing but the best for the daughter of the Rogue Prince
the classic Targaryen colors, red and black, are a staple in her closet
Once she claimed Vermithor bronze and copper became another prominent color in her wardrobe
Besides, bronze also represents her Royce side and her mother
Also purple! So much purple!
She fully embraces her Valyrian heritage and doesn't care to adhere to Westerosi standards; something she inherited from her father
Most of her dresses are cut in a way to emulate the styles of Old Valyria and the ancient dragonlords
Long flowy gowns with long, cape-like sleeves that spread like wings when she struts down the halls of the Red Keep
All of them cinch at the waist or have a belt that accentuates her figure
Ofc, she owns gowns that are more in line with Westerosi standards; she mostly wore these when she was young and still lived at Runestone
As she matured and developed her own sense of fashion, she started dressing more in line with her Valyrian side
It was partly because she genuinely wanted to honor her ancestors, and partly to make a political statement; she was a Targaryen and she will always be one and she will proudly show off her heritage
All of them are covered in rich embroidery and fine details
Her dragon riding suits are more angular and structured, with shaper lines
Some are made of leather, and some of harsher materials that are more durable
She has several riding coats in various colors; black, red, dark brown
All of them have belts because when she's flying she needs to secure all the chains of her dragon saddle to it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next, her hair
She has the classic silvery hair of House Targaryen
It's a silvery blonde with a pearlescent shine to it
Keeps it long; it's past her shoulder blades
She has curly hair thanks to her mother, Lady Rhea
She doesn't straighten her hair like Rhaenyra
When she's flying or hunting, she usually braids her hair into a single plait or pulls it up into a braided bun
When she's at court or in her free time she usually wears it down but always has a couple of braids adorning her head
Owns plenty of headpieces and always has some sort of jewels in her hair
DRAGON HAIR CLIPS!
She takes great care of her hair and applies oils imported from Dorne and Lys to make it extra soft and shiny
Her hair smells like lemons and rose water

guess who's writing prized possession au instead of anything else they should be doing it's meeeee i barely edited this have fun (it has footnotes!)
also on ao3!
"Reality. Settle," his father commanded, and Reality forced his knee to stop bouncing.
Holding still proved to be impossible, though. The itch built up inside of him and made him squirm. "Apologies, father, I am afraid I must…"
His mother squeezed his shoulder in concern. "Is it your magic? Do you need to go outside and blow something up, darling?"
The idea sounded promising, but he'd done quite a lot of that this morning, and the arcane power roiling inside of him was actually much calmer than usual. With a flick of his fingers, Reality turned the remainder of his glass of wine into champagne. Delicious, but casting the spell didn't bring the feeling of relief that it usually would if his magic were acting up. "No, I am simply… restless."
"He's just bored with the party." His cousin Delphina's voice was full of reproach, and he didn't miss the "spoiled brat" she muttered under her breath, either. At nearly thirty years of age [1], Reality thought he was a bit old to be called a brat. Delphinia's hatred of him was both well-known and a constant, though, so he ignored it.
The party was rather dull. As the premier social event of the season, the Midwinter Ball was the central hub for the political doings of the Winter Court, and the royal families of each of the Courts were obviously required to attend. The Hibernal King was both saturnine and mercurial, not given to socialising, and had spent most of the evening watching the proceedings silently from his throne. Reality was desperately trying to avoid the Vernal Queen and her daughter, who would either try to rope him into dancing or talk his ear off about something inane, and the Autumn Court's royals seemed to have about the same idea, given that they were remaining stubbornly on the other side of the ballroom. There was also a scattering of human royalty in attendance, invited as a formality and not worth his time. He'd hoped to see an old acquaintance, a prince from the Dragonlands with whom he'd been friendly as a child, but the Diamond Heir didn't seem to be here. Dragons disliked the cold. He supposed it was only fair. In lieu of anything interesting to do, Reality been busying himself trying to make sure he ate at least one of everything being served, but now his stomach was getting full and the wine was going to his head and he just didn't feel like it.
As his listless gaze scanned over the crowd, he accidentally caught the eye of the Princess of Blossom. Not good. She smiled at him and started cutting across the dance floor toward him. The last thing he wanted to do was talk, or Divines forbid *dance,* with the princess of Spring, but there didn't appear to be any sort of escape for him available. His parents didn't understand his distress, and Delphinia only laughed at him. Nothing for it, then. He buried his face in his hands, summoning together the will to put his court face on, but then the music stopped.
The dance floor cleared, and the partygoers all withdrew to their own tables, the Blossom Princess included. The orchestra that had been playing for the night so far mostly departed, leaving behind a string quartet, which began to tune and check strings, preparing for another segment. While they did so, a fifth young man approached, bowed to the performers, exchanged a few words, then opened his own violin case.
This new person was human, going by the shape of his ears, and probably only recently of age. Dressed in a doublet of black with red embroidery, he set the violin on his shoulder, pushing aside waves of dark hair that framed his face. A silver circlet nestled into that hair, studded with emeralds. A prince?
"Who is that?" Reality whispered to his manservant, Ioan. An inexplicable curiosity had come over him.
Ioan followed his gaze. "Ah, the young heir Iuventus. Prince Thanatos, I believe, my lord."
"His eyes are red."
"A hereditary trait, my lord. House Iuventae is known for producing scions with the most brilliant eye colors. He's quite the sought-after match," Ioan added pointedly, and Reality rolled his eyes.
Even as young as he was, people were already "subtly encouraging" Reality to choose a match. The divinity inside him shifted uncomfortably at the thought, and he turned the champagne flute into a butterfly in an attempt to calm it. He was already a magical weapon of mass destruction, a disaster waiting to happen. He couldn't risk passing this on to an heir [2]. No, the Fiothrey line must end with him. It wasn't as if any of the noble fae daughters had caught his eye. This had given many the notion that it was a good idea to waggle their eyebrows pointedly in the direction of the sons. Reality didn't appreciate that either. If he wanted something, he took it. If he didn't have something, it was because he didn't want it.
The human prince was rather attractive, though, he had to admit. Everything about him was long and thin: from his delicate fingers dancing on the violin strings to his elegant lashes and sculpted brows; save for his face, which while long was soft, and his body, which while thin, was rather short compared to most fae [3], though he was probably average for a human. He reminded one of a puppet dancing under the control of a masterful puppeteer: every movement graceful but regimented, shifting from point to point with calculated ease. Reality found himself watching the boy with a mix of amused curiosity and captivated wonderment.
And then he began to play.
The quartet came in first, playing a tune that was common in the Winter Court and often played at Midwinter Balls. Boring, and Reality mentally checked out before the second measure, but just after he'd settled his chin on his chest and committed to allowing the food coma to claim him, he heard a sound that stopped everything in its tracks. The prince's bow on the violin strings produced a haunting countermelody, a juxtaposition of death with rebirth, the essence of winter. Reality was absolutely transported to the center of a snowy lake, watching a single figure dance gracefully to a tune only the two of them could hear. He'd never felt such a sensation of internal peace. Even his magic went completely calm, without a hint of the shifting, crackling pulse that had underlaid his whole life. Every fragment of his attention was on this mortal prince.
Reality was sure he must look quite the fool, sitting here with his mouth agape, just staring, but it was as if he'd been spellbound, utterly incapable of movement. The human boy's crimson eyes remained mostly shut, save for when he opened them slightly to check the next section of music, but for a moment, his hooded gaze swept over the audience and caught on Reality's. Their eyes locked for a moment, and along with the rhythmic moment of his head as he played, Reality was sure he saw the prince smile at him. A pang of emotion struck him through the heart.
When the music stopped, the prince boned and exited the stage amidst enthusiastic but restrained applause. Reality turned to his father and gripped him by the sleeve.
"I want him."
"Whom? The human prince? They are not toys, you know, my son. It may be difficult to—"
"I want him."
[1] Fae, while not immortal, are incredibly long lived, and can achieve lifespans in excess of five hundred years. In the Courts, the accepted age at which young fae reach maturity is held to be twenty-five years old.
[2] The royal lines of the fae Courts are, for reasons lost to time, cut with divinity. This grants them unprecedented control over magic, with the cost that, if not sufficiently diluted, their bloodlines can produce demigods. Reality Fiothrey was one of these. the body of a mortal is not designed to contain the power of a god, and that divinity will regularly attempt escape, often explosively, if not kept rigorously in check by frequent usage of large amounts of arcane energy and exemplary self-discipline. Reality was already teetering on the edge of the maximum divine-to-mortal ratio possible to keep stable into adulthood. Even if he were to attempt to reproduce with a human with no chance of divinity in the blood, it was probable that the offspring would destabilise and detonate, taking half of the fey wilds with it. That Reality himself had not was a testament to his sheer force of will.
[3] especially Reality, who was nearly seven feet and showed no signs of slowing. The Divine Reality, who would likely incarnate into him, was known to appear at fantastic sizes usually no less than thirty feet. Everyone who knew Reality desperately hoped he would not grow that large.

Diamond Stud Earrings 101: Tips for Finding Your Perfect Pair
Discover the ultimate guide to buying diamond stud earrings. Learn about size, shape, metal settings, and the 4 Cs to find your perfect pair of diamond studs.
Tumblr media
Diamond stud earrings are the little black dress of the jewelry world, a timeless accessory that instantly adds elegance and sophistication to any look. Whether you're getting ready for a glamorous night out or just want to bring a bit of sparkle to your everyday style, these earrings are your go-to. Known for their simplicity, diamond stud earrings for women can effortlessly elevate any outfit. They hold the unique ability to complement other jewelry pieces without clashing. Pair them with a necklace, bracelet, or even a statement ring, and they’ll still shine without overshadowing your other accessories. With so many options available, picking the perfect pair might seem like a daunting task. But don’t worry; we’ve got you covered!
The 4 Cs of Diamonds
Before diving into the world of diamond stud earrings, it's essential to understand the 4 Cs of diamonds: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat. These are the four key factors that determine the quality and value of a diamond. Here’s a brief overview:
Cut: The cut of a diamond determines how well it reflects light, making it sparkle. A well-cut diamond will have a brilliant shine, while a poorly cut diamond may appear dull.
Color: Diamonds come in various shades, from colorless to slightly yellow. The less color a diamond possesses, the greater its value. Most diamond earrings use diamonds with a color grade ranging from D (colorless) to J (slight yellow tint).
Clarity: Clarity refers to the presence of blemishes or inclusions within the diamond. The fewer imperfections a diamond has, the clearer and more valuable it will be.
Carat: Carat is the weight of the diamond. Larger diamonds are rarer and therefore more valuable. However, a diamond's cut can also make it appear larger or smaller than its actual carat weight.
Choosing the Perfect Size for Your Diamond Stud Earrings
Size matters when it comes to diamond stud earrings for women. The size you choose should complement your face shape and personal style. Here are some tips:
Petite Faces: If you have a smaller face, consider opting for diamonds that are around 0.25 to 0.50 carats. These sizes will add just the right amount of sparkle without overwhelming your features. Check this.
Medium Faces: For those with medium-sized faces, diamonds ranging from 0.50 to 1 carat are perfect. They offer a balanced look that’s elegant yet noticeable. Check this.
Larger Faces: If you have a larger face or simply love a bolder look, go for diamonds that are 1 carat or more. These will stand out and make a statement. Check this.
Selecting the Right Shape
The shape of your diamond stud earrings can significantly impact their overall look. While round brilliant-cut diamonds are the most popular due to their maximum sparkle, other shapes offer unique and stunning aesthetics:
Round: The classic and most popular choice, offering maximum brilliance and versatility.
Princess: A square-shaped diamond that gives a modern and sophisticated look.
Oval: Offers a more elongated appearance, flattering for most face shapes.
Cushion: A square shape with rounded corners, combining vintage charm with modern elegance.
Marquise: An elongated shape with pointed ends, ideal for a unique and bold statement.
Metal Settings: More Than Just a Frame
The metal setting of your diamond stud earrings can enhance the beauty of the diamonds and complement your skin tone. Popular choices include:
White Gold: Provides a sleek, contemporary look that enhances the diamond’s sparkle. Ideal for those who prefer a modern touch.
Yellow Gold: A timeless choice that offers a warm, classic feel. It pairs beautifully with traditional outfits and other gold jewellery.
Rose Gold: Perfect for those who want a romantic and trendy look. Its pinkish hue adds a soft, feminine touch to the earrings.
Platinum: The most durable and hypoallergenic option, platinum offers a luxurious and elegant appeal. It’s perfect for those who want a piece of jewellery that will last a lifetime..
Budgeting for Your Diamond Stud Earrings
One of the biggest considerations when buying diamond stud earrings is your budget. Here are some helpful tips to consider:
Set a Realistic Budget: Know how much you're willing to spend before shopping. This will allow you to narrow down your choices and get the most value for your money.
Prioritize What Matters: If maximizing sparkle is your goal, allocate more of your budget to the cut quality. If size is important, consider choosing diamonds with a slightly lower color grade to get a larger stone within your budget.
Consider Lab-Grown Diamonds: For a more budget-friendly and eco-conscious option, consider lab-grown diamond stud earrings. They offer the same brilliance and beauty as natural diamonds but at a fraction of the price.
Finding Your Perfect Pair of Diamond Studs
Buying the perfect pair of diamond stud earrings doesn’t have to be complicated. By understanding the key factors like the 4 Cs, size, shape, and metal settings, you can find earrings that complement your style and enhance your look. Whether you’re looking for diamond stud earrings for women as a gift or to treat yourself, these timeless pieces are a valuable addition to any jewellery collection. Remember, it’s not just about the sparkle; it’s about finding earrings that make you feel confident and beautiful every time you wear them. Whether for a special occasion or everyday glam, find the perfect pair to make your statement. Visit Jewelbox’s store or shop online today!
FAQ What are the benefits of choosing lab-grown diamonds over natural diamonds for stud earrings?
Lab-grown diamonds offer the same sparkle and durability as natural diamonds but are more affordable and eco-friendly. They are created using technology that mimics natural diamond formation, making them a sustainable and ethical choice. How does the cut of a diamond affect its appearance in stud earrings?
The cut of a diamond influences its brilliance and sparkle. A well-cut diamond reflects light better and appears more radiant. Opting for high-cut quality will ensure your studs have maximum shine. What should I look for to ensure I get the best value for my budget when buying diamond stud earrings? Set a realistic budget and prioritize the 4 Cs—cut, color, clarity, and carat. If size is important, you might choose diamonds with a slightly lower color grade to maximize carat weight within your budget. Consider lab-grown diamonds for a more affordable option.

For @pinkstarsdress; also paging Élysée Palace anon since Evie and Julien are very horny in this excerpt
This is the third part of the follow-up to the Princess Imperial deleted scene “Garden Proposal.” A full list of shared outtakes can be found here.
Note: this outtake involves Evie discussing a loved one’s terminal cancer diagnosis. It’s a topic I’m sensitive about after a close friend of mine died of stomach cancer, and I’ve been careful to write a story that doesn’t prick my cancer triggers—but please read with caution if cancer is a difficult subject for you

SUSHI DAIMYO
PARIS, ÎLE DE FRANCE, FRANCE
OCTOBER 21
We enter the restaurant through the back door. A staff member in a black apron ushers us upstairs, into a private room. A futuristic-looking chandelier hangs overhead. The walls are paneled with bamboo. A square white stone table sits in the center of the room. The chairs are black lacquer. A red and black tea kettle sits in the middle of the table, along with two matching teacups without handles and an elegant glass bottle filled with what I assume is soy sauce. A square white plate, small red bowl, fabric napkin, and black chopsticks are arranged in front of each chair. We can access a balcony through a sliding glass door.
From the balcony, I can see the rest of the restaurant. The tables on the main floor are thick slabs of blond wood with matching chairs. A handful of elegantly dressed people sip sake at the bar. Waiters bring out white platters bearing assortments of sushi rolls and sashimi. It looks delicious. My stomach rumbles, and I realize I haven’t eaten anything today.
When I return to our private room, Julien is chatting with a staff member. They’re looking at the menu. The server glances my way as I enter. He gawks for a long moment. Julien says something, and the server leaves, taking the menu with him.
I sit down. “What was that about?”
“He was looking at your boobs.”
“They’re hard to miss.”
I’m wearing a strapless black dress. It dips in the front, cutting out a V in the valley between my breasts. I’ve paired it with black heels and a diamond tennis bracelet, plus my everyday ring stack and diamond stud earrings.
“Other people aren’t allowed to—”
I lean forward. As I expected, he glances down at my cleavage.
“Gotcha,” I say, grinning.
He doesn’t say anything, just skims a finger as far up my thigh as he can. I gasp.
Conveniently, this is when the server returns with a small ceramic boat filled with dumplings. He flushes bright red at the sight of us and scurries out of the room as quickly as possible.
“Someone’s possessive tonight.”
Julien picks up a dumpling. “I haven’t seen you in three weeks. You are not the only one with plans for the evening.”
“And what would those be?” I ask, though I suspect I already know. I grab a dumpling.
“Dinner. Ballet. Bed. The order is negotiable.”
“Sounds like a good time.”
We’ve demolished the dumplings by the time the sushi arrives. Our waiter places the platter on the table. He explains which roll is which. There are a couple of staples: the Philadelphia roll and salmon sashimi. Unusually, there’s some octopus sashimi. I don’t recognize anything else. The waiter calls one option, which seems to have salmon inside, a Champs-Elysées roll. A crab-based variation with spicy mayo on top is the Montmartre roll. We have also received a Marie-Antoinette roll, a Tuileries roll, and a Napoleon roll. The waiter vanishes after we thank him.
“This place must be popular with tourists.”
He grabs a piece of Champs-Elysées roll. “Either that or they’re extremely patriotic. We may have to come back in July to find out.”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself. The dumplings were tasty, but that doesn’t mean the sushi will be.”
I start with a slice of the Montmartre. Crab isn’t one of my favorite fillings, but I like the how it pairs with the other flavors, especially the spicy mayo.
“Does this have lettuce?” I ask.
Julien pokes at one of the Montmartre pieces with his chopsticks. “Looks like it.” He gestures toward the Napoleon roll. “That one is salmon with lemon, by the way.”
I guessed as much based on the paper-thin lemon slices layered on top.
Once we’ve polished off the Tuileries roll, Julien says, “About last night.”
Octopus sashimi, it turns out, is chewy. Vaguely rubbery. I nod and wave a hand to signal he should keep talking.
“Do you want me to wait to re-propose?”
I swallow hard. “What do you mean?”
“Yesterday wasn’t great timing, not because it wasn’t a Hollywood proposal—”
“Though that is important to me,” I interject.
He smiles sheepishly. “You should have mentioned that sooner. Anyway. The news about your mom is a lot to take in. Do you want the time and space to process that?”
I shrug. There’s nothing to say. I hate that my mom is dying, but it also feels like a story about someone else, something that happens to other people who live far away. I don’t think the news is going to sink in until I see her for Christmas.
Julien adds another piece of ginger to his soy sauce. “Do you think you’ll want to spend a lot of time in Chicago? If you do, I fully support you in it, but it would make our engagement more difficult. The public won’t expect you to tag along for all my work, but they’ll want to see you frequently. You can’t simultaneously visit your family in America and accompany me to events in France.”
“Why do you think I moved across the world for grad school?”
He blinks. “Pardon?”
“I love my family, but they are best in small doses.”
“I see.” He sounds confused.
“It’s hard to be friends with my brother when he’s a decade older than me, and you’ve met my parents. Surely you’ve noticed that they take the “only daughter” thing seriously. Like, my dad actually called me his little princess until I was thirteen and begged him to stop.”
A smug grin crosses Julien’s face. “You have mentioned that. We’ll see how he feels about you no longer being his princess.”
I grab a Marie-Antoinette roll. “Give me a real proposal and we can find out. Besides, my mom has been dreaming about my wedding for my entire life. She’ll enjoy having something to do.” I pop the roll in my mouth.
He selects a piece of salmon sashimi. “I’m not going to be upset if you change your mind. This is going to be a difficult year.”
I chew and then swallow. “I’ll be—”
He gives me a hard look. “You are not going to be fine. That is a good thing. You should not be unaffected by this.” He picks up the sashimi with his chopsticks. Half the rice falls back onto his plate.
“Having substantial things to do will help. I’m sure of it. And it will be nice to have something to work on with Mom.” This time, I select a Napoleon piece.
“I will warn you that this is not going to be a two-person job. You and I will provide input, of course, as will our parents. The Grand Master of Ceremonies will oversee it all. He might deputize a wedding planner or two to help coordinate logistics, and they’ll also have opinions.”
Instead of replying, I eat my Napoleon roll. The salmon and lemon pair beautifully together. I immediately grab a second piece. “This may be the best sushi I’ve ever had.”
“Interesting.” He places a piece of Philadelphia roll on my plate. “You’ve barely touched these. Are they not as good as the ones at Ameterasu?”
Philadelphia rolls are my favorite food. Specifically, the version made by the small sushi bar Ameterasu in the Latin Quarter, a stone’s throw from the École Normale Supérieure campus. It’s beloved by students from ENS as well as the nearby Sorbonne.
I shake my head. “They’re better. Why have we never come here before?”
“I didn’t know it existed. Hugo learned about it from his boyfriend.”
I lean in. “He’s dating again? I thought he swore off romance after that lawyer broke his heart.”
“Sadly, he’s already called it quits with this guy. At least he got a list of good restaurants first.”
“Do you know how long they were together?”
“Four months or so.”
Impressive. Hugo’s longest relationship lasted all of eight months, so four is nothing to sneeze at.
“Are you still hungry?” Julien asks.
I nod. He puts three pieces of sushi on my plate. Two of them are Napoleon rolls.
I’ve just put one in my mouth when Vincent pokes his head in the door. “It’s time.”
OPÉRA GARNIER
PARIS, ÎLE DE FRANCE, FRANCE
OCTOBER 21
The imperial box is magnificent. The seats are upholstered in scarlet velvet. Luxurious curtains in the same fabric adorn the walls. The view of the stage is magnificent.
The main floor and mezzanines are flooded with people in suits and nice dresses, chatting with their partners. Visitors come from all over the world to see the Paris Opera Ballet perform. It’s lovely to see people of all shapes and sizes and skin tones here. This will be a night they remember forever.
Julien leans in close. “Watching the show?”
A couple people in a mezzanine point towards us. They pull out their cell phones and hold them up in our direction.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” I ask.
He’s brought me to the imperial box before, but not like this. Usually I take my seat after the show has started, and I leave right before the intermissions and again before the show ends. Not tonight. I entered with Julien. We’re seated side by side in the front row of the box.
He places a hand on my thigh. We haven’t seen each other in three weeks, but this is incredibly forward for him. “You don’t need to hide anymore.”
Throughout the room, more and more people are noticing us. I sit up straighter. I am going to be a princess. I can do this.
Thankfully, it’s not long before the lights dim and the ballet starts. Delphine Diop is every bit as skilled as I expected. She’s a tall, lithe Black woman with the most toned legs I’ve ever seen. Her performance is entrancing. Her twirls are crisp, and her jumps so powerful that she seems to float. She reminds me of the Bonapartes—they all possess a charm that makes it hard to look away from them.
All too soon, it’s time for the first intermission. I stand up and start to stretch before I remember I am here with Julien, and we’ve been spotted. The box feels secluded even though we’re visible throughout the theater.
“I see why Diop was made an étoile,” Julien says. “She’s an artist.”
“It’s a good thing they get married at the end. I would never forgive Franz for choosing a doll over her version of Swanhilda.”
He laughs. “You have higher standards than me. The worst Swanhilda is better than the finest Coppélia.”
Below us, about a quarter of the theater gawks at our box. It’s impossible to tell if this is because the building itself is so beautiful or because they recognize Julien.
I sit back down and shift closer to Julien. “Hopefully Delphine Diop won’t mind being overshadowed tonight. Do you see how many phones are pointed at us?”
“I see no problems in acknowledging the most beautiful woman in the room.”
“Please. Do you see the legs on those ballerinas?”
“There’s nothing wrong with your legs. Or your hips. Or—”
I roll my eyes, then sigh. Right. Eye rolls are unladylike behavior. With my luck, someone will have gotten a clear photo of that, and it will be shared on the internet forever.
I excuse myself. There’s a small washroom just off the imperial box. I inspect my lipstick in the mirror. Unsurprisingly, I lost most of it over dinner. I reapply my red lipstick, then scrunch my hair so the waves are bouncier.
When I return to the box, the ballet has resumed. The rest of the show flies by. Swanhilda breaks into Dr. Coppelius’ house and discovers the beautiful Coppélia is just a doll. Swanhilda tricks Dr. Coppelius into thinking his doll has come to life. Franz and Swanhilda get married and the entire town celebrates. It’s beautiful.
As soon as the show is over, Julien says, “What a lovely pas de deux. I still think your legs are better.” He puts an arm around me and ushers me out of the box and into the dim hallway.
We’ve just ducked out of public view when he steers me into a wall, pressing my back against the chilly stones, and kisses me. It’s a hard, insistent kiss. I need it. I need him. So I drape my arms over his shoulders and slip my tongue into his mouth. He groans. His hands wander lower, hiking up my dress, studying the curves of my lower back and my butt.
“Oh my God, get a room,” Vincent says. He’s only a few feet away, too close for comfort.
We break apart. Julien’s mouth is stained the same red as mine.
“Right,” Julien says sheepishly. “Let’s go home.”
I grab his hand. As always, we leave out a side entrance. The sky is inky blue like the shadows in Van Gogh’s Starry Night. It’s snowing again. The flakes are small and dusty like the ones last night.
I barely get a second to take it in before a dozen cameras flash bright white, blinding me.

The final Super Editions Minor Characters list! Starting off with Graystripe's Vow, now under the new name - Graystripe's Clan.
Minor Characters under the cut
Unknown number of Bloodclan leaders after Scourge - 3 leaders. The first after Scourge was Screech, the silver tabby Bloodclan molly Onewhisker was chasing off, unfortunately she was hit by a car. The second was Oil, until she was taken in by humans, now living as a spicy housecat, but loved and safe. The third was short lived, Jaggedtooth. Claw challenged Jaggedtooth, and the wounds from the fight killed him.
Skinny yellow Bloodclan tom - Pirate, he has a stubby tail, and a red collar.
Gray tabby Bloodclan tom Graystripe knocks unconscious? - Snare, I like the thought that his ears are really ripped up.
Ginger Bloodclan molly - Chive, a very tough girl I like to think is the sister of Jaggedtooth and Ginger. She is covered in scars.
Ginger Bloodclan molly - I'll be honest. I'm a sucker for her wiki image. She is a spotted dark ginger molly with long fur. Her name is Fawn, and she is Fury's sister.
Bloodclan tom with a patchy pelt - Ripper, I like the think he is a brown and white tabby.
Black and white Bloodclan tom with a torn ear and a collar studded with teeth - Talon, he has a black collar.
Three Bloodclan cats, but the descriptions are not clear. One chases Brambleclaw and Brambleclaw flees (lmao) - The one chasing Brambleclaw away is Fawn, Fury's sister. The patchy furred one is Rooster's son, Raven, pure black.
Tabby and white molly that does not know what Mothermouth is - Her name is Diamond, she is noted to have a sparkly collar and reminds Graystripe of how Lightflower (Princess) used to be.
Scraps' Father Figure - Scrappy! He died in the Battle of Bloodclan. Scraps changed his name when he transitioned to male to be more like him, before Scrappy died.
Gremlin's ex, Fang's Father - Graystripe. In an attempt to strengthen connections, Graystripe welcomed Gremlin into his and Silverstream's relationship, attempting to Honour Sire kits, but plans fell apart before Fang was born.
Fang's siblings, Gremlin's other kits - The first is a tortoiseshell molly with white patches named Leah, she is still in her home, happy and carefree. Her original name was Ember. The other was another molly, a small gray molly with a darker gray stripe down her back, the spitting image of her father, her name is Orchid, and she left her home to become a loner. She'll reappear during the Warriorclan Super Edition.
Black and white kittypet tom - Tuxy. You can imagine what he looks like.
Black and white molly trapped in the Twoleg den - Flurry, she joins Warriorclan and becomes Flurrynose.
Molly with 3 kittens - Her name is Storm! She becomes Stormjump, I think she is large, and pure black with big green eyes.
Her 3 babies - The first is Moss, or Mosskit. A pure black tom with green eyes, just like mom! The second is Apple, or Applekit, a brown tabby tom with green eyes. The third and final is a deaf, pure white molly with blue eyes, named Cloud, or Cloudkit.
The old tabby molly who gives herself up to the Twolegs - Her name is Maisie. She was reunited with her old family through her microchip, who had all but given up hope of seeing her again.
Small tabby and white molly, warrior of Warriorclan - Amberwhisker! She is a light ginger colour with a white underside and white front legs, she has orange eyes.
Sandy coloured tom from Warriorclan - Splashclaw, because he loves water! He also has blue eyes.
Dark tabby kittypet with a light muzzle and light paws - A dark brown tabby by the name of Pinky. She was named by a little kid. She has a pink collar to match.
Patch furred kittypet - Named Patches. Named by the same kid, but slightly older. Now a white tom with ginger patches! He had a yellow collar.
Tabby kittypet with white paws - Alfred, not named by a child, he is a gray tabby, the oldest and most distinguished in the group. Dark blue collar for this guy.
Pure white kittypet - Missy, possibly named by the same kid who named the others, she is Alfred's baby. A small molly with a purple collar, she joins Warriorclan during their super edition under the new name: Happyfur.
Marigold - Note: This unknown being isn't even given a SPECIES. But in WCR, Marigold was Petunia's mate. Unfortunately, while they were in a shelter together, Marigold's liver began to fail, and the shelter was not able to get on top of things, she was euthanized. She and Gremlin give Monkeystar 2 lives.

Choosing the Perfect Lab Grown Diamond Engagement Ring: What to Consider?
Tumblr media
When it comes to selecting the perfect engagement ring, many couples are turning to lab-grown diamonds as a beautiful and ethical alternative to mined diamonds. Lab grown diamond engagement ring offer stunning quality at a more accessible price point, making them an attractive option for modern couples. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore what to consider when choosing a lab grown diamond engagement ring, including tips on evaluating quality and style options.
Understanding Lab Grown Diamonds
Before diving into the selection process, it’s essential to understand what lab-grown diamonds are. These diamonds are created in controlled environments using advanced technology that replicates the natural diamond formation process. Chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds, lab-grown diamonds are often more affordable, typically costing 20-40% less than their mined counterparts. This price difference allows couples to consider larger stones or additional pieces of lab grown diamond bridal jewelry.
Evaluating Quality: The 4 Cs
When selecting a lab grown diamond engagement ring, the quality of the diamond is paramount. The industry standard for evaluating diamonds is known as the 4 Cs: Carat, Cut, Color, and Clarity.
Carat Weight
Carat weight measures the size of the diamond. One carat is equivalent to 0.2 grams. While larger diamonds are often more desirable, it’s essential to balance size with your budget. Lab grown diamonds allow you to maximize carat weight without breaking the bank. Consider how the carat weight fits into your overall budget and personal preferences.
Cut
The way a diamond is cut greatly affects how it shines and sparkles. A well-cut diamond reflects light beautifully, creating a stunning visual effect. Common cuts include round, princess, oval, and cushion. Each cut has its unique characteristics, so choose one that aligns with your partner’s style. For example, a round cut is classic and timeless, while an oval cut may offer a more modern look.
Color
Diamonds can be colorless or have different shades of yellow or brown. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) grades diamond color from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow). For a lab grown diamond engagement ring, aim for a diamond in the G-H range, which offers a near-colorless appearance at a more affordable price.
Clarity
Clarity refers to how clear a diamond is, based on the number of internal or external flaws, called inclusions and blemishes. The GIA grades clarity from Flawless (no flaws seen under 10x magnification) to Included (flaws visible without a magnifying glass). For a balance of quality and value, consider diamonds with a clarity grade of VS1-VS2, which will appear eye-clean to most observers.
Additional Lab-Grown Diamond Jewelry Options with Fine Color Jewels
Once you’ve selected the perfect lab grown diamond engagement ring, consider complementing it with other pieces of lab grown diamond bridal jewelry. Here are some options to explore:
  Lab-Grown Diamond Wedding Ring
A lab-grown diamond wedding ring can beautifully complement the engagement ring. You might choose a matching band or a more intricate design that enhances the overall look.
  Lab-Grown Diamond Pendants
A lab-grown diamond pendant can be a thoughtful gift for your partner, symbolizing your love. This piece can be worn on special occasions or as everyday jewelry.
  Lab-Grown Diamond Stud Earrings
Lab-grown diamond stud earrings are a versatile addition to any jewelry collection. They can be worn by themselves or combined with other jewelry for a more classy style.
Lab-Grown Diamond Bridal Jewelry Sets
Consider investing in a complete set of lab-grown diamond bridal jewelry, including earrings, a pendant, and a bracelet. This cohesive look can elevate your partner’s style on the big day and beyond.
 Conclusion
Choosing a lab grown diamond engagement ring is a meaningful decision that reflects your love and commitment. By understanding the 4 Cs, exploring different settings and styles, and considering additional lab-grown diamond jewelry, you can find the perfect ring that fits your.
