haircut — spencer reid
pairing: spencer reid x reader ( no use of y/n ) summary: you're caught off guard by spencer's haircut content warnings: mention of stuffing yourself with ice cream and popcorn a/n: boyband spencer makes me feel things so i just had to write this
Tumblr media
You pushed open the door to the conference room. The scent of freshly brewed coffee lingered in the air, mixing with the faint scent of paper and ink from the stacks of case files spread across the table.
Penelope Garcia was already seated. She looked up from her laptop the moment you entered, her eyes lighting up as she greeted you.
"Good morning, sunshine!" she chirped, holding out a file for you.
You smiled, the warmth of her energy making the early morning a little more bearable. “Good morning,” you replied, taking your seat beside her. “Thanks, Pen.”
She gave you a playful wink. “Always here to deliver your daily dose of doom and gloom.”
You chuckled, shaking your head as you leaned back in your chair, settling in. “How was your weekend?” you asked, genuinely curious.
Penelope sighed dramatically, pressing a hand to her chest. “Oh, my dear, it was divine—a full 48 hours of zero crime, binge-watching the most ridiculous reality shows, and eating a huge amount of popcorn. A true masterpiece of relaxation. What about you?” Penelope asked, her eyes fixed on her computer screen as she attempted to pull up the PowerPoint for the case briefing.
You sighed, stretching slightly in your chair. “Same thing,” you admitted. “Spent the weekend on the couch, barely moving, while shoveling buckets of ice cream down like it was my full-time job.”
Penelope gasped dramatically, turning to you with wide eyes. “You didn’t move? At all?”
“Barely,” you confirmed, already missing the comfort of your couch. “Honestly, I think I might have become part of it.”
She snorted, shaking her head as she finally got the PowerPoint to cooperate. “Respect,” she said, clicking through the slides.
Before you could respond, the conference room door opened again, and the rest of the team started trickling in. Hotch took a seat next to you, as he opened his files, while JJ leaned toward Penelope, the two of them quickly falling into conversation.
You glanced around the table, scanning the usual faces—until you noticed an empty seat.
Spencer’s seat.
Your brows furrowed slightly. He was never late. If anything, he was usually one of the first to arrive, sitting quietly with his coffee, already halfway through the case materials before anyone else had even opened their files.
When JJ and Penelope began presenting the case, you had no time to let your anxieties cloud your judgement regarding the empty seat. voices pulling you back into work mode.
That was until JJ suddenly smirked and said, “Well, hello.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you turned to her, confused by her reaction—until you followed her gaze.
And then, your mouth fell open.
Spencer had just walked in.
But not the Spencer you had been expecting.
He looked… different.
Not in a bad way. Not even in a way you had the right words for. Just—different.
His normally tousled curls had been cut shorter, neater, styled in a way that framed his face and somehow made him look even more—God help you—attractive. It was a change you hadn’t been prepared for, and from the silence that briefly passed over the team, you weren’t the only one caught off guard.
Spencer gave a small, almost shy smile at JJ’s reaction before heading to his seat. He settled down on the other side of Hotch, setting his bag on the table.
Hotch barely looked up from his file as he raised an eyebrow and deadpanned, “What, did you join a boyband?”
A small frown creased Spencer’s face. “No,” he replied, the petulant tone in his voice making a few people chuckle.
Conversation quickly resumed, the team diving back into case details as though nothing had happened. But you? You were barely processing a single word.
Your mind was too busy reeling.
Your eyes kept drifting back to Spencer, betraying you as they traced over his new look. The sharpness of his jaw, the way his now-shorter curls curled just slightly at his temples, the way his freshly cut hair made his cheekbones stand out a little more.
This was dangerous. Very dangerous.
Because if you had thought Spencer Reid was cute before, you had no idea how you were going to survive this version of him sitting across the room from you every day.
As expected, Hotch wrapped up the briefing with his usual stern voice. “Wheels up in thirty.”
The room stirred with movement as everyone gathered their files and bags, preparing to head to the jet. You slung your bag over your shoulder, but not before sneaking a few more glances in Spencer’s direction.
Unfortunately, you weren’t as subtle as you thought.
At some point during the meeting, Derek had caught you staring—not once, not twice, but multiple times. And when your eyes met his across the table, he grinned knowingly, amusement flashing in his gaze.
You had felt your face heat instantly and quickly looked away, pretending to be very focused on your files.
Smooth. Real smooth.
You got up, ready to make a quick exit before you could embarrass yourself further, but just as you turned toward the door, Spencer’s voice stopped you.
“Hey—uh, is it okay if I ride with you?”
It was such a simple question. A question he had asked before. Sometimes Spencer drove with Derek, other times he rode with you. It was normal. Casual.
So why did it suddenly feel like the most dangerous thing in the world?
You swallowed, gripping the strap of your bag a little tighter. Your usual response would have been an easy, effortless “Yes. Of course.” But today? Today, you could barely meet his eyes without feeling like your brain short-circuited.
Because he looked that good.
Still, you forced yourself to nod, offering a quick, “Sure.”
You kept your gaze trained on the hallway as you stepped out of the room, hoping that if you avoided looking at him, your heart would stop hammering against your ribs.
Unfortunately for you, Spencer had already fallen into step beside you. You stepped into the elevator together, the metallic doors sliding shut with a soft ding.
A silence settled between you, not entirely uncomfortable, but not the easy kind you were used to with Spencer either.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed him tapping his shoe against the floor—a habit you’d picked up on over the years. Spencer only did that when he was nervous.
That surprised you.
He never did that around you.
You and Spencer were close—so close that sometimes it felt like too close. Like the kind of close that made your heart race when he so much as looked at you a certain way. And today, with his new haircut and the way his suit fit just right, that feeling was overwhelming.
Your eyes flickered to the floor, watching his shoe tap against the tile before glancing up at him.
Big mistake.
Because the moment you did, your heart flipped in your chest. He looked so good, and that single thought refused to leave your mind no matter how hard you tried to push it away.
You quickly looked away, biting your lip, hoping he hadn’t noticed your staring.
But of course, he did.
“If it’s a bother,” Spencer suddenly spoke, his voice quiet as the elevator hummed downward. “I can drive with Derek to the airport instead.”
Your stomach twisted at the suggestion. It wasn’t that you didn’t want him in the car with you—it was that you wanted it too much. And now he had clearly picked up on your avoidance, which only made your embarrassment ten times worse.
“No, Spencer,” you said quickly, shaking your head as the elevator dinged again, signaling your arrival. “You’re not a bother at all.”
You barely gave him time to respond before stepping out of the elevator, making a beeline for the parking garage.
Spencer followed closely behind, and even though you weren’t looking at him, you could feel his gaze on you.
You unlocked the car, and Spencer slid into the passenger seat beside you. Normally, by this point, the two of you would already be knee-deep in some random discussion—whether it was a case, a bizarre fact he recently read, or a debate about which movies held up over time.
But right now?
Silence.
Not the comfortable kind. Not the kind that came from years of understanding each other so well that words weren’t always necessary.
This was different.
Spencer was quiet because he sensed something was off. He was a profiler, after all—he could read people better than anyone, and he had definitely picked up on your shift in behavior.
And you? You were silent because you feared that if you opened your mouth, you’d do something completely mortifying. Like stutter over your words. Or say something dumb. Or worse—blurt out the fact that you had spent the entire morning internally spiraling over how ridiculously good he looked today.
Your fingers curled around the steering wheel, your gaze fixed ahead.
Beside you, Spencer set his bag down at his feet, shifting slightly in his seat. You could feel the weight of his stare even without looking at him.
“I’m sorry, Spencer,” you said suddenly, staring straight ahead. “I promise there’s nothing wrong. I guess I’m just… off today.” You exhaled, fingers tapping absently against the wheel. The last thing you wanted was for him to think he wasn’t welcome here. “And I am happy to drive us to the airport.”
Spencer was quiet for a moment, but then, in a soft voice, he asked, “Do… do you want to talk about it?”
You swallowed hard, pulling out of the parking lot. The road stretched ahead, but your mind was a tangled mess of thoughts, each one worse than the last.
What were you supposed to say?
Oh hey, Spencer, funny thing—I literally cannot look at you right now because you’re so insanely attractive that I might actually die on the spot?
Yeah. Probably not the best thing to say to a coworker—and more importantly, to the friend you’d been secretly crushing on for longer than you cared to admit.
So instead, you shook your head, offering the safest response you could manage.
“No, it’s nothing.”
You weren’t sure if he believed you. But for now, he didn’t push.
The drive to the airport was short, but thankfully, Spencer had started talking about the case almost immediately. You were relieved—you could focus on the conversation instead of the way your heart kept stupidly skipping beats.
Plus, driving gave you an excuse to not meet his eyes.
That was the problem, wasn’t it? His eyes.
Warm and intelligent, always analyzing, always seeing you in ways that made you feel exposed. So, you kept your attention on the road, discussing victim profiles and behavioral patterns.
Before you knew it, you were pulling into the airport lot.
You parked carefully, turning off the engine as the conversation about the case trailed off. Both of you got out, grabbing your bags before heading toward the jet.
It wasn’t until you were walking side by side—no distractions, no case details to focus on—that Spencer suddenly asked, “What do you think of…” He hesitated. “My haircut?”
You froze for half a second, your grip tightening on the strap of your go-bag.
Oh.
Oh, no.
You hadn’t been prepared for that.
“Uhm—” You stuttered, caught completely off guard, your brain scrambling for a normal, casual response.
You walked slower, suddenly hyperaware of his presence beside you. Spencer matched your steps, his hands tucked into his pockets as he glanced at you, waiting.
Finally, you swallowed and forced yourself to speak. “It looks great,” you said softly. “I like it.”
Spencer tilted his head slightly, watching you. “Yeah?” His lips curved into a small, pleased smile.
“Yeah,” you nodded, willing yourself to keep it together.
But then—because the universe apparently wanted you to suffer—your mouth betrayed you.
“I mean, it makes you look…” You trailed off, but Spencer was still watching you, waiting for you to finish, and oh god, you were already in too deep. You cleared your throat. “Really handsome.”
Spencer blinked.
Your stomach dropped.
You hadn’t meant to say that out loud.
Heat immediately crept up your neck, and you snapped your gaze forward, walking faster in hopes of escaping your own embarrassment. But Spencer—being Spencer—was too damn observant for his own good.
His eyes widened slightly, something clicking in his mind. His posture straightened, his brows lifting ever so slightly as realization dawned.
“That’s why you’ve been avoiding my eyes.”
It wasn’t a question.
Your breath hitched.
“No, no,” you said quickly, shaking your head as you picked up your pace, the jet now in sight. If you just got inside, if you just sat down and pretended this conversation never happened, maybe—maybe—you could salvage what was left of your dignity.
But Spencer wasn’t letting it go that easily.
“Wait—” He reached for your wrist, his touch light but enough to stop you in your tracks.
You swallowed hard.
Slowly, reluctantly, you turned to face him, keeping your eyes trained somewhere near his shoulder instead of his face.
Spencer let out a soft breath, studying you. “So… I was right?”
Your lips parted slightly, but no words came out. Your heart was pounding.
“About you avoiding my eyes,” he clarified, his voice softer now, more careful.
You exhaled sharply, forcing a nervous laugh as you rubbed the back of your neck. “I—no, I just—” You sighed, giving up mid-sentence. Lying to Spencer Reid was pointless. He could probably read you better than you could.
His fingers twitched at his side, like he was debating whether or not to reach for you again. Instead, he tilted his head, his eyes flickering across your face, searching for something. “You think I look… handsome?”
You groaned, shutting your eyes for a brief moment before opening them again. “Spencer, please.”
But he wasn’t teasing. He wasn’t smug. He looked genuinely curious.
And that—somehow—was worse.
You sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat. “Yes, okay? I think you look… really good.” You avoided his gaze, focusing on a spot over his shoulder. “Too good, actually, which is kind of annoying because it makes it really hard to—” You stopped yourself before you could say concentrate at work like a normal human being, realizing how that sounded.
Spencer’s lips parted slightly, as if surprised by your admission. But then, slowly, his mouth curved into a small smile.
Not a smirk, not teasing—just… soft.
Warm.
And something about that undid you a little.
“I didn’t think you noticed things like that about me,” he admitted quietly.
Your eyes snapped to his.
Was he serious?
You let out a disbelieving laugh, shaking your head. “Spencer, are you kidding? Of course I notice things like that about you.”
His smile faltered just slightly, a flicker of something vulnerable crossing his face before he looked down, like he was processing that.
The jet door opened in the distance, voices echoing faintly from inside, but neither of you moved.
Then, after a long moment, Spencer glanced back up at you.
“I think you look really good all the time,” he said simply.
Your breath caught.
Before you could respond, a voice called out from the jet—Derek, naturally. “You two coming or what?”
You cleared your throat, tearing your gaze away from Spencer’s as you took a step toward the jet. “Yeah, coming!” you called back, trying to keep your voice steady.
Spencer fell into step beside you, hands in his pockets, but his small smile remained.
And as you both climbed the steps to the jet, you couldn’t help but think that maybe—just maybe—this conversation wasn’t over yet.

honeybee year two recap
it's 4/20. it's easter. it's a friend's birthday. and on top of all that today also marks two years since grimm and yarrow appeared damn near fully formed in my brain, took up residence, and still have not left. and i feel like rambling about what all i've been compelled to do
(year one recap post here btw)
but also before you go under the cut i made a whole entire animatic so look at that too tee hee :3c
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay also before i get into little details and stats and stuff i just wanna give a HUGE thank you to everyone who follows this blog and is cheering me and this story on it genuinely means so much to me that people like what i'm doing and are in some way invested in it! what the hell!! it's such a treat to be able to talk about ocs with friends and all that :,,,>
art
well. i drew them a lot. serena for reference bc she's my oldest oc. also a year ago grimm and yarrow were at 61 and 51 images respectively. art fight stuff and gifts count towards this total so it's not all my own stuff but. it's fucking dire
Tumblr media
as for some of my favorites i liked how these in particular turned out hehe
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also those short animations but those are gonna copypaste weird
they got proper ref sheets!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'm currently on my. fifth sketch/artwork file (blank one is the current one i'm just weird abt how i save things)
Tumblr media
mailed out prints of them!!!! and internationally!!!! my silly little cowboys are out and about in the world what the hell..........
getting more comfortable drawing Adult stuff of them but i have a lot of other ideas competing for my focus at any given time so it's not a priority dghkldfh
comics! not as fruitful as last year but i've done....eight! whole comic pages of them! tbh i have more in the works either thumbnailed or half-sketched but the animatic took over my last little while so. not as many comics
sorry i'm gonna mention that fucking animatic again bc i have never done anything like that before. dunno if/when i'll do another but ! i made one !!
story/writing
i also made a 50-slide powerpoint about what the fuck is going on in honeybee. just like in general. feel free to look at it btw
Tumblr media
also i gave that presentation to friends a total of. three times. they willingly opened that can of worms though idk
i got a physical notebook to tease out plot shit in and that's about....halfway full already? like at least fifty handwritten full pages of thoughts in that fucker. this is where i do most of my hooting and hollering about ideas
the first draft is currently up to 83k words !! which means i wrote nearly ~50k words this past year !
started sharing my writing for occasional wip wednesdays !! i'm still pretty picky about what i share and also just like. very aware i'm still a pretty amateur writer hdgkldf
that being said, writing feels a lot easier now than when i started !!
made some posts sharing details about things! but honestly i still struggle with talking about oc stuff unprompted even when This Is My Blog Where I Do That
some story developments i figured out this past year or so: grimm backstory stuff, yarrow kills at least two people before p3, the beginning of all three parts have been reworked or are in the process of it, p3 has more meat and direction (still fizzles out to disjointed scenes at another point, but that's a matter of writing things out), yarrow actually realizes grimm's humod when they first meet but grimm thinks it's hiding it, rappock's mining union is going to play a larger role in p1/2, grimm's run out of town in p1 bc of money, not the killing, grimm's p1 client is who hunts it down at the end of p2, lucy comes into play later in p3 than i first imagined
other stuff
i've been getting more tags where ppl recognize grimm n yarrow and i'm like?? bewildered by that? people know my fellas?
goals/plans
as it is right now, honeybee is a passion project. i mostly work on it in my free time outside of my work hours and that's probably how it's going to be for the forseeable future
with how large of an undertaking this story is, my sssort of plan is to: write out the first draft (i am here) which is organized chronologically, write the second draft in the actual story order, have people beta read that draft, edit the story accordingly, then begin the process of actually making the final story with illustrations and all. this will take me several years even without getting sidetracked
that being said i would like to get the first draft to 100k words by the end of the year, which seems pretty plausible!! reachign for the stars goal is finish the first draft within the next year but i'm not holding myself to that one
also wanna do more comic stuff this next year. like i said i have a few other ideas but also there's some illustration stuff cooking away too
my plan honestly is just to keep consistently working on things as they interest me. i want to see this story realized how i envision it, but i truly do not know what the next year has in store for me so! i continue to ball

CUPERTINO, CA — In a bold move to strengthen corporate compliance and keep workplace morale at a perfectly neutral level, Apple announced today the release of Severance: Workplace Edition, a special cut of its hit Apple TV+ series where all elements of fun, intrigue, and emotional depth have been carefully extracted—leaving behind a pure, undistilled essence of monotonous labor. “We heard from corporate leaders across the country who were concerned that the original Severance might give employees the wrong idea—like questioning authority, valuing personal identity, or, God forbid, unionizing,” said Apple’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Synergy, Todd Carmichael, in a press statement. “So, we’ve carefully removed any scenes that might inspire workers to think critically, form attachments, or exhibit basic human emotions. Now it’s just the good stuff—filing, typing, and a respectful fear of middle management.” The Workplace Edition reportedly eliminates any semblance of character development, humor, or dystopian warning signs, leaving behind a chillingly accurate portrayal of a real office job. Among the most notable changes: All plotlines about workers rebelling against the system have been cut, leaving only seamless transitions from one spreadsheet scene to the next. The break room now features actual corporate compliance videos, including classics such as Understanding PowerPoint: A Five-Hour Journey and Why Requesting a Raise Hurts Everyone. The mysterious, unsettling world of Lumon Industries has been rebranded as “a forward-thinking, synergy-focused corporate family,” with all sinister undertones removed to help maintain a positive Glassdoor rating. “It’s truly incredible,” said one HR representative who was given an early screening. “In the original show, you could tell the employees were unhappy, and that was problematic. But in this version? No complaints. No eye contact. Just pure, uninterrupted data entry. It’s the kind of workplace culture we aspire to build.” From Sci-Fi Horror to Corporate Training Material Apple confirmed that numerous Fortune 500 companies have already begun licensing Severance: Workplace Edition as part of their employee onboarding process. Instead of inspirational speeches about innovation or teamwork, new hires will now be required to sit through six episodes of meticulously edited footage depicting workers completing their tasks in complete silence—interrupted only by the occasional, soul-crushing email reminder about “upcoming workflow enhancements.” "Honestly, this version of the show is so effective that we've replaced our entire HR team with a single autoplaying iPad," said Brian Forrester, an executive at a major financial institution. "After watching it, employees seem completely at peace with their roles—or at least, they've stopped making eye contact and talking to each other, which is a huge win for productivity." In response to complaints that the original Severance depicted a dystopian nightmare rather than an aspirational workplace, Apple has also added several new corporate-friendly features: Eliminated all moments of personal joy. Any instances of laughter or camaraderie have been digitally altered to show employees nodding solemnly at their computers. Introduced 'Siri for Middle Management.' A new voiceover has been added to remind workers that "corporate leadership cares deeply about your well-being, as long as it does not interfere with quarterly earnings reports." Extended the runtime. Each episode now consists of an uninterrupted, real-time depiction of an eight-hour workday, allowing employees to pre-experience the joys of sitting in an office without questioning their life choices. Critics Applaud the ‘Painstakingly Boring’ New Cut Early reviews from corporate higher-ups have been overwhelmingly positive. “The original show was a little too engaging,” said Richard Lively, CEO of a major tech firm. “I found myself getting invested in the characters, which is frankly a liability.
This new version is much better. It’s so painfully realistic that by the end of the first episode, I had an existential crisis about my own job, which is exactly the type of immersive experience we want to provide for our employees.” Meanwhile, employees who have been forced to watch Severance: Workplace Edition as part of their corporate training programs have expressed a range of emotions, from mild distress to quiet resignation. “I didn’t realize the show was dystopian horror until I watched the Workplace Edition and noticed literally nothing had changed from my real job,” said Emma Patel, a data analyst. “At first, I thought this was a joke. Then my manager told me I’d be required to submit a 2,000-word reflection on how I could ‘bring the spirit of Lumon’ to our company. So I guess I’ll be writing that now.” Apple’s Next Move: Expanding the ‘Severance’ Universe Buoyed by the success of Severance: Workplace Edition, Apple is reportedly considering additional edits of popular shows to appeal to corporate clients. Potential future releases include: “Ted Lasso: Executive Cut”, where Ted is fired for failing to meet quarterly revenue targets and is replaced by an AI-driven leadership consultant. “Black Mirror: HR Edition”, where each episode ends with a reassuring voiceover reminding viewers that technology is only used for good and that excessive questioning of its role in society is a violation of company policy. “The Office: Compliance Training Special”, featuring Michael Scott being replaced with a 300-page employee handbook and a mandatory harassment seminar. As for Severance: Workplace Edition, Apple assures that this is just the beginning. "We're thrilled to bring this new, more responsible version of Severance to workplaces everywhere," said Carmichael. "Because at the end of the day, what do employees really want? Is it creative fulfillment? A sense of purpose? Work-life balance? No, it’s about learning to love the beautiful, gray monotony of corporate life. And that’s exactly what this version delivers." The new edit is set to roll out in office break rooms, HR meetings, and involuntary team-building retreats by the end of the quarter. Employees are encouraged to watch but are reminded that excessive engagement with the material may be interpreted as a violation of company policy. https://lighthousenewsnetwork.com/apple-releases-severance-workplace-edition-removes-all-fun/?feed_id=14860&_unique_id=67b90685c3e63

How Data Processing Services Can Streamline Your Business Operations
Data is what businesses throughout the world have in common. It is possible to manage the company with data. A collection of facts called data aids in the company's production of insights for market research. However, handling such a massive volume of data is laborious and prone to errors. Accurate data management is essential for businesses to accelerate their growth. After all, half of the company's success may be attributed to data, a valuable resource. Using all of your data is a different challenge, though. The growth of the company may be directly affected if company information is not used appropriately. Utilizing data is, hence, still another essential responsibility.
Data processing can directly impact employee productivity, helping employees manage their routine small, repetitive duties. Therefore, if utilized properly, this service can advance any kind of corporation. Let's examine in detail how data processing might improve workflow in the workplace.
How Can Data Processing streamline Business Workflow?
In order to handle a mountain of data, data processing services are crucial for businesses. Processing data is an essential daily task, particularly when dealing with huge datasets and conducting data mining. Among other things, it is helpful for data collection, business intelligence, data analysis, data sources, and high-quality information. For businesses, outsourcing data processing services has several advantages. Here are a few of them:
Clear and Convert Data
Data processing services give firms access to simple data. When the data is cleaner, decisions are made with greater knowledge. Gathering raw data can lead to many mistakes and unnecessary information, which might lead to differences. Processing the raw data can obtain information that can be a resource for the business. Also, businesses should use professional PowerPoint presentation designs to simplify their workflow.
Increased Effectiveness
Undoubtedly, a corporation that has access to or owns the relevant data is at a different advantage. Data and files with another extension are not all that makeup data. Data analysis supports corporate decisions, providing accurate and well-informed outcomes. Access to user data makes it easier for your company to outperform its competitors since it allows it to concentrate on its main advantages.
Quick Reaction & Confidence in a Skill
Making judgments based on clearly understandable data becomes possible by utilizing data processing services. Also, there are very few opportunities for error during data processing. The maximum benefits will come from properly processed data. Working in a competitive environment is another advantage of data processing. Although it's normal for many people to have access to the same data, what sets them apart is their ability to utilize that process data when it's needed.
Digital Storage
To ensure rapid access to information at all times, it's essential to store data collected from various sources efficiently. Traditional methods of data storage can be complex and risky, and information may disappear or become disorganized, especially with file storage or paper-based systems. Digital storage simplifies data management significantly, handling large volumes more effectively. This includes optimizing data distribution, access, and storage, which are crucial for streamlined operations and efficient analysis, such as cross tabulation analysis.
Takeaway
Services for data processing assist a company in handling the excess of information. Data processing services can be essential to businesses that handle large volumes of data on a regular basis and need to ensure efficient workflow within their business. Businesses are going to face difficulties, particularly when the dynamics are shifting swiftly.
However, strategies and actions based on data can keep them alive. Data-driven organizations are able to manage complex issues and help predict issues before they arise. Additionally, data processing boosts profits through market analysis, customer insights, and sales comparisons while cutting expenses by automating tasks like payroll, reporting, and billing.

The Ultimate Guide to Data Compression Solutions
Tumblr media
Faster data transfers and effective data storage solutions are supported by Data compression. It enhances digital system and network performance as well as data management. Data compression, sometimes referred to as source coding or bit-rate reduction, is the process of changing, encoding, or converting individual data bits to minimize storage space requirements, speed up data transfer, and save operating expenses.
Lossy vs Lossless Data compression
There are basically two types of knowledge compression techniques:
Lossy versus Lossless. Understanding the particular kind of Data compression that works best for your use case is a smart place to start when defining the term.
Poor Data Compression
Higher compression ratios are attained at the expense of some data by lossy Data compression techniques. Multimedia formats like JPEG for images and MP3 for audio frequently employ this kind of compression. Although lossy Data compression significantly reduces file size, some quality is also lost. It works well in scenarios like streaming media where a loss is tolerable.
Compression of Data Without Loss
As the name implies, lossless compression algorithms preserve all of the original data. They are frequently employed in settings like text documents and program files where data integrity is vital. Because data has been compression using lossless methodologies, every last bit of the initial data can be restored with the compressed version without any information being lost.
Data Compression Uses and Examples
For maintaining data availability and recovering in situations of system as failures, data corruption, or emergencies, backup of information has an imperative responsibility. Nonetheless can take a lot of time and resources to back up a lot of data.
Before storing data in backup archives, IT experts utilize file compression techniques to reduce its size. A business might, for instance, have a daily backup schedule that includes moving configuration files, system logs, and sizable databases to a backup server. These kinds of data files have the potential to take up a lot of storage space.
More instances of Data compression and the reasons they are employed in different business contexts are provided below:
Compression of Files: The most common application of Data compression is file compression. By reducing their size, files become easier to manage for storage and transfer more quickly. The ZIP, RAR, and 7z file compression formats are often used.
Consider that you have a PowerPoint presentation that includes a ton of comprehensive charts, embedded movies, and high-resolution photos. It is necessary for you to send this huge file to a colleague via email.
Sending this big file in its original state might have been a hassle. It could be difficult for your colleague to download, take a long time to upload, and use up all of your email storage space. With a popular file compression format like ZIP, these problems are readily resolved.
Compression of Videos: Due to the enormous amount of data needed for each frame, video files are known for being larger files. Video teleconferencing, streaming media, and YouTube video storage all requires compression for video. Following formats for encoding videos are H.265 (HEVC) and H.264 (AVC).
Thinking of an institution that has a comprehensive closed-circuit television, or CCTV, safety system. Various high-definition IP surveillance cameras are positioned deliberately through the estate within the framework of this system’s equipment to continuously record and monitor activity. These cameras continuously record a considerable amount of visual data.
Managing and storing this enormous amount of video material might easily become burdensome and expensive without Data compression. Using Data compression methods designed for security video applications is the answer.
When calculating the amount of storage needed for video surveillance systems that use video compression, Seagate’s Surveillance Storage Calculator is a useful resource.
Compression of Images: In graphic design and photography, picture compression enables quicker digital image loading times and more effective photo storage. JPEG is a popular picture compression format that strikes a compromise between original size and image quality.
The main platform used by an e-commerce company to present its products to customers is its website. High-resolution photographs are featured on the website because the e-commerce market is largely visual. However, the performance of websites, user experience, and operating costs can all be negatively impacted by huge picture file sizes.
The e-commerce company uses picture compression more especially, commonly used formats like JPEG to solve this problem and enhance the functionality of its website. This enhances user experience, lowers operating costs, and optimizes website performance all while enabling the business to display high-quality product photos.
Compression of Audio: Digital music is built on the foundation of audio compression. Lossy compression (LC) has been employed by technologies like MP3, AAC, and OGG in order to minimize the size of music recordings without sacrificing sound quality. Audiophiles who desire uncompromised quality favor lossless audio compression formats like FLAC.
A high-quality audio streaming music service gives customers access to a vast song catalog for listening on several devices. In order to provide a flawless user experience, the service uses audio compression algorithms, mostly lossy ones.
Systems for Computers: Computer systems require Data compression in order to work. Compressed files are frequently used by operating systems to save storage space and enhance system efficiency. By doing this, you can be confident that your computer will function properly even when its storage is full.
Updates are frequently applied to modern computer systems and their operating systems to enhance functionality, security, and performance. Large files including system files, application upgrades, and software fixes may be included in these updates. For users and system administrators, effectively handling these updates can become a difficult undertaking in the absence of Data compression.
Communication: Data compression in telecommunications lowers the bandwidth needed for data transmission. Faster internet connections, effective data movement across networks, and seamless video conferencing are all made possible by it.
The effective transmission of high-quality audio and video data via networks is essential for video conferencing. The bandwidth needs for this real-time communication would be high without Data compression, which would result in lag, dropped connections, and poor call quality.
Things to Think About
When applying Data compression in IT systems or apps, make sure you adhere to best practices specific to the kind of data you’re working with for optimal efficiency. Analyzing your data analytics may also assist your company in maximizing the value of its data.
The Best Methods for Compressing Data
Achieving effective Data compression involves more than just reducing file size. In addition, the compression must guarantee that the data is still accessible when needed and maintain data performance and integrity.
The following are recommended methods to guarantee safe and efficient Data compression:
Ascertain the Compression Level
Prior to applying compression, determine the necessary compression level. You should strive for maximal compression for some file formats and give data integrity preservation priority for others. The secret to achieving the finest outcomes that satisfy your business goals is striking the correct balance.
Imagine a company that handles text documents, such as financial reports and contracts. Maintaining data integrity is critical for these papers. It is ensured that no information is lost during the compression process by using a lower compression level or even lossless compression.
On the other hand, larger compression levels can be used to conserve storage space without causing a major loss of data if the company archives old emails or less important documents.
Type of Compression
Based on the types of data, select the suitable compression technique. While multimedia and video files frequently employ lossy compression, text and program files typically use lossless compression.
A media production company, for example, has a huge collection of high-definition video clips stored. It employs lossy compression algorithms to lower file sizes for distribution and internet streaming while preserving a respectable degree of video quality. Nonetheless, the company ensures that no data is lost during archiving by using lossless compression for their project documentation.
Take Duplication Into Account
The operation of uncovering and eliminating duplicate information from a set of values in order minimize its size is known for data deduplication. This further minimizes the requirement for extra storage devices.
Deduplication can be used in conjunction with compression or independently of it, depending on the particular data management plan. It works best with enterprise storage systems that frequently use data redundancy.
Keep an eye on Compression Efficiency
It’s crucial to keep an eye on your Data compression procedures’ performance to make sure the intended outcomes are being attained without compromising data quality. This may entail routine evaluations of file sizes, decompression speeds, and compression ratios.
For instance, a cloud storage company continuously assesses how well its compression algorithms are working. In order to enhance the process, the corporation may adjust the compression settings or look into different algorithms if it discovers that a certain sort of data is not compressing properly. This continuous assessment guarantees the continued efficacy and efficiency of the Data compression.
Make the most of the task
Various compression techniques may be needed for different activities or projects, depending on the volume and kind of data. For optimal results, you must tailor your compression technique to the unique requirements of your project.
Original Data Backup
Preserve a copy of the original, uncompressed data at all times. In the event that data is lost or corrupted during compression or decompression, you will have a perfect copy to rely on. Frequent original data backups are an essential safety precaution.
For example, a big CAD file containing complex architectural plans is used by an architectural business. To save storage space, they use lossless compression. To avoid any possible data loss owing to unanticipated problems during the compression process, they do, however, maintain stringent backup processes for the original, uncompressed CAD files.
Businesses can efficiently utilize the power of Data compression to ensure data efficiency, cost savings, and data integrity by adhering to these best practices. In data management, Data compression is a tactical advantage that improves performance and data storage methods.
Examine Seagate’s offerings for data backup and recovery
An essential idea in data management and IT is Data compression. It improves the effectiveness and economy of data transfer and storage for your company. Through an awareness of the various compression techniques, when to employ them, and best practices for implementation, IT teams and companies may effectively leverage the power of Data compression.
To protect your data, Seagate provides a variety of data backup and recovery options. Speak with a specialist right now to simplify operations and safeguard your company with strong data protection.

the assistant | doyoung (m)
Tumblr media
title: the assistant pairing: sub!doyoung x black!reader genre: smut request: “Sub Doyoung that works under a (Black) woc as an assistant. He gets turned on when she bosses him around and ends up in a situation where he can’t hide his feelings anymore. Hopefully it’s a smut.” word count: 4.5k warnings: oral (female receiving), handjob, dirty talk, public masturbation/sexual activities, humiliation kink *without insulting names*, dom!female/sub!male a/n: this came out a bit longer than i expected. the title’s a bit generic but the other one i had felt corny. i hope i didn’t make the reader too mean here lol
Tumblr media
Taking a job as your assistant over a year and a half ago was both an easy and hard decision—though mostly easy.
Doyoung needed the money, so he wasn’t going to turn down the offer. And he had the skills for it, which he wasn’t going to let go to waste. But he wasn’t sure how he was going to handle the prospect of being sexually attracted to his boss.
It wasn’t just your looks, although they certainly helped. It was your air of authority and the way you knew how to get people to like you or do whatever you requested of them. There was practically no one you were afraid to call out if necessary, regardless if they were a lower-level employee or a fellow boss at the firm. You liked things to be done a certain way, and you wasted little time with hesitating like many others on the job did when they needed a task completed.
He could tell your demeanor from that first interview, and it made him sweat. It pleased him and compelled him to achieve whatever he could during the hiring process to get close to you. Doyoung found it hard to get you off his mind, thinking about you from the time he left that interview to the hour before he fell asleep that night. He was undeniably pleased when he got the job, but even more happy that he’d be getting to work for someone like you.
Doyoung is a smart man, and he takes pride in a job well done. However...he’s not above making the occasional mistake just to hear you reprimand him. Nothing big enough to seriously impact your business, and never too often, or you’d probably have him kicked out. But every once in a while, he lets something “slip” his careful eye so he can hear your irritated voice or see your pretty eyes roll.
Sometimes he thinks he might be one of the strangest men on Earth to get enjoyment from things that would normally make others feel embarrassed and upset, but he doesn’t mind it too much. He knows what he likes, which is at least more than many others can say.
He’s not sure what he’d do if you knew about his secret, or about how he feels things specifically for you that an employee should never feel towards their boss. But he’ll continue to indulge as long as he can keep it to himself.
“I hope you’re ready for the presentation today.” You tell Doyoung this as you both take the elevator to your department floor. The only practical answer you expect is a yes, and he knows this. Thankfully for him, he’s not one to disappoint. “You’ve organized all the data I sent over to you and added it to the presentation, right?”
“Of course. Have I ever failed you?”
You sigh, raising your eyebrows. “Those errors on your reports say otherwise, no matter how small they are. Don’t get too cocky about your track record yet, everyone messes up sooner or later.”
“Sounds like you don’t have any faith in me.” Doyoung laughs.
“Doyoung. If I didn’t have any faith in you, I wouldn’t have hired you.” You pat his shoulder good-naturedly, and he relishes that touch for a moment. “But I also know how humans work.” You both walk off the elevator when it finally stops, and Doyoung acknowledges a few people who pass by, though his eyes are always subtly drawn back to you.
The conference room is almost full with the other bosses and higher-ups who have gathered for today’s meeting. It’s a panel, so there will be a few more people who go before and after you.
When it’s your turn to go up, you take the USB Doyoung’s given you with the presentation on it.
The first few slides look as they should, which you pretty much expected, but you’re still glad to see that Doyoung got everything right.
You flip to the next slide of the presentation for the data and start going through it, but you quickly realize that something is wrong. None of the numbers match what you remember reviewing for this year’s report. You stop and blink for a few moments, trying to register what you’re seeing. Doyoung sits up in his chair, and his body goes stiff as he realizes his mistake. He knows for sure he imported the data into the PowerPoint, but he must not have been paying enough attention to which data he was using; all of this information is from last year.
There are a few disgruntled sounds from the meeting attendees, some born from secondhand embarrassment, others confusion, and some others annoyance. You clasp your hands together, putting on a fake smile as you regard the other members of the room. “Well...looks like there’s been a mistake.”
The meeting organizer speaks up. “We can continue on with the others and schedule your segment for another day. We’re all on a tight schedule right now, so I’m afraid there isn’t enough time to do this over today.” He gives you a regretful look, and you nod in response. You just hope you don’t get reprimanded for it too badly later.
Doyoung is sweating bullets when you return to your seat next to him. He glances over at you, though he can’t look you directly in the eye. You don’t even give him a glance back, instead keeping your eyes straight ahead on the next person’s presentation. He doesn’t need you to look at him, though; he already knows from your posture and energy that you’re pissed.
The rest of the meeting goes by fast. Maybe too fast. Everyone starts talking among themselves and packing up their things to leave, and you go to the organizer to set another date for your presentation. Doyoung waits until you’re finished with the other man before daring to approach you.
He stumbles over his words as he tries to speak. “Y/N, I’m so sorry, I didn’t—”
You give him a look and brush him off as neutrally as you can without drawing the attention of the others filing out of the room.“Let’s talk in my office.”
The walk to your office seems to last forever, though it’s only a minute or two in actuality. Doyoung doesn’t know what to think—will you decide to get rid of him? This is the first major mistake he’s made, but he is not so confident that you’ll be very forgiving with the past errors he’s made.
“Close the door behind you,” you say when you finally get in the office. Doyoung does as instructed and only sits down after you gesture for him to take the chair in front of your desk. After you’re both settled, you sigh and put your head in your hands.
You keep that position for a while, which makes him nervous. He isn’t sure if he’s supposed to speak first, so he keeps quiet and waits to see what you’ll do.
Possibly the weirdest part of all this is the thread of excitement that still pulses through him. He’s anxious to know what you’ll say to him, whether good or bad. He’s not ecstatic at the thought of losing his job, no, but he also can’t deny that he likes hearing you raise your voice at him.
You lift your head to look at him, and he feels immobilized underneath your gaze. “I should have you fired, you know that?” He tenses at that. “After making such a huge mistake in front of the upper management, and having to reschedule the damn meeting…everyone spent their precious time coming out here today, pulling themselves away from their own busy schedules...”
Your words make Doyoung panic a bit on the inside, yet they also stoke the fires of his attraction to you. He curses himself in his head. He’s usually better than this at keeping himself under control, but something about your pointed anger today is speaking directly to a deep part of him.
“Whenever I tell you to do something related to the job, you should do it.”
“I know, o-of course. It was a mistake, but—”
“But? Did you really not realize the information you had was from last year?”
“I-it slipped my attention.” Doyoung can feel heat creeping up his neck, but also rushing farther down below the belt. He’s only seen you this upset before on a few other occasions, and none of them were directed at him. He’s a little ashamed to say that it’s still turning him on, though he also realizes the gravity of his mistake. “I know I can’t make up for what’s already happened, but I’ll do better.”
“You definitely will do better, because you’re staying overtime to fix it.” He figured that much. “There’s not enough time to deal with this mess now.” You sit back in your desk chair, crossing your arms. “Don’t look so anxious about it. I’m still pissed at you, obviously, but I’m not letting you go. There are a lot of fools around here, and I don’t need any of them trying to become my assistant if you leave.”
Doyoung’s shoulders deflate a little from the relief he feels at that, with some of the built-up tension leaving his body. There is still another uncomfortable problem left, though—the bulge in his pants. His face turns redder with the knowledge that he’s gotten hard in front of you, with the only thing to hide it being the folder of documents he’s holding.
You lean over the desk a little, examining your assistant closely. “Doyoung, you’re turning beet red. The hell? Are you getting sick or something?”
“N-no! I’m not sick, really.” His hands tighten around the folder as he says this, and he tries to look at you as nonchalantly as he can manage, though the eye contact still sends his pulse throbbing.
You stare at him for a few more seconds, trying to read him and getting nothing but more nervousness. “You know what…” You shake your head. “Just go home early and do your overtime tomorrow. You clearly need a break to pull yourself together.”
“Are you sure?”
“Of course I’m sure. I don’t need you messing up any more of my work if you’re this flustered. Go on, go.”
Doyoung nods, wondering how he’s going to get out of the chair without making it too obvious that he’s sprung a hard-on from your reprimands. You sigh and press your fingers to your temples for a long moment, and he takes this opportunity to stand up and try to zip out of the room before you can open your eyes again.
“Wait. Give me the folder.”
He freezes with his back to you.
“The-the folder?”
“Yes, Doyoung, that folder you’re holding right there.” You roll your eyes. “Come on. Don’t you need to be getting home?”
“Right, yes…” Doyoung hesitates for a moment longer before passing the folder to you, then he quickly covers himself by crossing his hands in front of his crotch. The movement isn’t as natural as he’d like it to be. You raise an eyebrow at his stiff demeanor, but you don’t say anything immediately. He takes that as his cue to escape, and he goes to the door as calmly as possible.
“Remember your overtime tomorrow,” you call out as he opens the door to your office. He turns his head to look back at you, nodding in response. He can’t read the expression on your face, and he doesn’t stick around much longer to find out what you could possibly be thinking.
Once Doyoung gathers his things, he sneaks off to the men’s bathroom. His hands shake a little as he unbuckles his belt and unzips his pants, pulling his hard cock out and gripping his shaft tightly. A tiny moan slips out, though he quickly silences his voice as he begins stroking himself.
All your words from earlier circle around in his head as he gets himself off, his breaths labored and echoing slightly around the walls of the bathroom stall. He imagines that you’re the one pleasuring him, your fingers wrapping around his dick as you laugh at how hard and desperate he is for you. Maybe if he’s good, you’ll let him cum in your mouth.
He’s learned how to get himself off quickly and quietly in the work bathrooms by now, so it only takes a few more minutes before he’s spilling over his fingers, the sound of your name passing through his lips almost inaudibly. After he cleans himself up and flushes the toilet, he spends a few more minutes in the stall to calm his mind and take some deep breaths.
“Ugh…fuck,” he mumbles to himself. The thought of doing overtime doesn’t thrill him, and he still feels shitty about making such a big mistake, but there’s nothing left to do except fix his errors.
Friday goes like any other workday, and Doyoung doesn’t notice anything unusual from you that would’ve indicated you knew what his “problem” was yesterday. He’s a little relieved about that, but he’s still not reassured enough to disregard the incident.
The day passes by more quickly than Doyoung would like, and soon it’s already time for regular office hours to end—and his extra work to begin. He seats himself at his desk, nodding goodbye to the last few coworkers who straggle out of the room. He didn’t see you leave your office, but he figures you must already be gone because the room is dark.
For a few minutes, it’s just Doyoung working by himself. He’s barely gotten started with the bulk of the document fixes when he hears rustling and a door opening. He wonders if it’s someone else doing overtime or somebody who forgot their belongings. What he doesn’t expect to see is you walking towards his desk.
“I thought you were going home?” Doyoung asks, looking up at you curiously. His hands pause over the keys.
“I am; don’t think I want to stay here all night. But I need to talk to you about something first.” You cross your arms, looking at Doyoung from behind his computer monitor.
A cold sweat breaks out on his skin, though he tries to keep his face neutral. “What did you want to talk about?”
“Your behavior after the presentation yesterday. In my office.”
As he thought, there was no way he could’ve hidden it or gotten away with it. He hangs his head, squeezing his eyes shut. “Y/N, please. Forgive—”
“Wait. Let me finish first.”
Doyoung stops talking immediately. He swallows, his Adam’s apple bobbing, and watches you carefully to see what you’ll do.
“I have enough sense to figure out that you were far from sick, but I sent you away to save us both the embarrassment of you nutting in your pants.” His fingers twitch at your words, but he remains silent as he wearily waits for you to continue speaking. At this point, he’s unsure which direction this will go in; will you decide to go ahead and fire him after you said you wouldn’t? Will you scold him and then pretend like none of it ever happened? “You’re crazy as hell, you know that?”
He can’t meet your eyes anymore and instead looks at where his hands still rest on the desk. He stays quiet, mostly because he’s unsure how to respond in any justifiable way.
“You’re acting like a scared puppy now, but you were pretty damn shameless yesterday. Getting hard in front of your boss, really?” You reach out to him. He doesn’t know what your intention is, but he surely doesn’t anticipate you grabbing his tie. You’re not even trying to pull him closer; you simply hold the fabric in your hand, passing your thumb over its patterns. “Do you think any of that was appropriate?” you ask, your voice calm.
“N-no, it’s not.”
“Don’t think I didn’t see you practically sprinting to the bathroom, too. Are you gonna tell me what you did in there, or do I have to guess?”
Doyoung’s cheeks are blazing again, and he can hardly believe that you’re questioning him like this, or that he’s actually about to admit to it.
“I...I, um. I...jerked off.”
“Jerked off to the thought of me. Right?” He can only nod, keeping his eyes firmly on your hand—which is still holding his tie—instead of your face. “And do you think that’s appropriate?” He shakes his head no.
“Good answer. But you’ve also forgotten that I can do what I want, too. Do you think it’s fair that you’re the only one around here who gets to have any fun?” Now you pull him closer, and you lean forward to meet him halfway. The implications of your words have him risking a glance up at you, surprised that this is your answer.
“Fun?”
Any other thought he might have promptly disappears when you kiss him. He’s taken entirely off guard by your actions, and with his walls down, he lets a particularly needy moan slip out. He likes the feel of your lipstick smearing slightly against his mouth, and most of all, your lips themselves.
Doyoung is embarrassed to be getting hard from a single kiss, but whenever it comes to you, he’s gotten it up for much less. Now that he’s had this one taste of contact, he wants you to touch him more, wherever you see fit. It doesn’t much matter as long as your hands are on him in some way. He leans forward minutely, kissing you a little deeper and wanting to push his tongue into your warm mouth.
You part from him as soon as you feel him push closer, though you still keep a grip on his tie. “This is gonna go my way. Got it? If you don’t want this, say it now and I’ll leave.”
“No, I—stay, please. I want this.” His voice comes out more pleadingly than he meant for it to, but he realizes he’s not really concerned about that as long as you understand how much he really does want this.
You move away from Doyoung and he’s momentarily alarmed that you’re going to leave anyway, but you only shrug your coat off and step out of your heels, leaving them strewn on the office floor. You push him away from the desk in his rolling chair so there’s enough space for you to enter his cubicle and sit comfortably on his desk.
Doyoung’s eyes drop to your legs, which are shiny and smooth under your skirt and most likely just as soft as they look. “Get out of the chair and on your knees,” you tell him. He does so, and you kick the rolling chair away so it’s just you and Doyoung, you sitting on his desk and him kneeling in front of you.
“If you want to make up to me for that embarrassment yesterday, you’ll have to do a lot more than fixing a presentation.” You spread your legs a bit, your skirt riding up as you do, and Doyoung’s eyes hyperfocus on the gift that’s waiting between your thighs. His mouth waters a bit at the thought of finally getting to taste you. “So, don’t keep me waiting. Like I said, I’m not staying here all night.”
Doyoung nods and brings his hands up to the sides of your thighs, feeling buzzed at how he’s touching you in a place he’s never been before. He’d like to take his time peeling off your blouse and skirt, exposing your nude form to his mouth and hands and cock that would like to do nothing but worship you, but he hasn’t been given that much permission. So he keeps within his boundaries and hikes your skirt up more so he can reach your underwear to pull it off.
Your underwear, to his surprise, already has a considerable wet spot on it. It makes his dick throb to know you’re as eager for this as he is, even if you don’t necessarily express it. When you notice him staring at your panties, you grab the hand that’s holding your garments and push it into his face, making him smell your scent. “If you like it so much…”
The smell of you appeals to him on a visceral, primal level. His hands return to your thighs with renewed enthusiasm, gripping your body and pulling you closer to his wanting mouth.
The first stroke of his tongue between your lips makes you shudder, and it makes Doyoung moan out loud. He pushes his tongue into you as his nose nudges your clit, wanting to have more of you as you leak onto him. You grab his hair, though not hard enough to hurt, as you push his face closer into you and arch your hips up.
He responds to your actions by bringing his mouth back up to your clit, enveloping it and sucking it fervently. He doesn’t think to bring his fingers into the mix, as consumed as he is with simply tasting you right now, and your body’s reaction says you are more than content with letting him work his mouth on you.
“Doyoung…” The way you speak his name is surprisingly gentle, much unlike he’s heard anyone else say it before—even previous lovers. Maybe he believes it to be so because of how wrapped up he is in you. He tries not to read into it and get his hopes up, instead focusing on pleasuring you.
His cock strains uncomfortably against his pants, though he ignores it to keep licking into you. There seems to be no limit to how much wetness he can coax out of you. The small cubicle, and the office itself, is quiet except for the subdued hum of computer machinery and Doyoung’s mouth sucking your pussy.
The muscles in your legs flex underneath his fingertips as you get closer to releasing. Your hand slips to the back of his neck, caressing the heated skin there as Doyoung pushes you higher and higher until you’re cumming in his mouth. Your legs tense and try to close around his head as you moan softly, and Doyoung accepts the sensation of being caged in by you. Everything down here is hot and wet and delicious.
You are satisfied and properly spent after your climax, but Doyoung is still hard and you’re not quite done playing with him yet. “Stand up.”
He does so and watches with bated breath as you undo his pants and bring his dick out. It’s already dripping precum and flushed with arousal, but you decide that isn’t enough lubrication and carefully spit on his member to make your strokes smoother. His knees almost give way at seeing your pretty mouth so close to his dick, and he has to grab onto the cubicle wall to steady himself.
“Y/N…” His voice shakes as he speaks your name. Your hand moving across his shaft seems too good to be true, and he wants so much for you to take him into your mouth or even let him press in between your legs. But he certainly can’t deny that being touched this way is ridiculously good, too. You only concentrate on his dick for a little while, but your eyes soon venture up to his face, with his bangs sticking to his forehead from sweat.
“Do you like that?”
“I-I do. So much.”
“So easily satisfied, aren’t you…” you murmur, not really caring if he replies or not. You grip him a little more tightly, and he can hardly stop the whimper that results from it. “What do you do when you’re at home? Nevermind—I bet you hug your pillow and jack yourself off thinking it’s me. How embarrassing, Doyoung.”
You continue on, stroking him faster all the while. “Seriously, when’s the last time you had a warm body? You’re so sensitive.” You slide your thumb over the slit of his cock, and he reacts by pushing his hips closer to you and moaning loudly. There’s no one left on this floor but you two, so he isn’t too afraid of being vocal here. “Don’t tell me you’ve been holding out for me. Maybe I‘ll let you fuck me someday, though...you seem like the kind of man who knows what to do with a wet pussy, don’t you?”
You can guess when he’s about to come from his increasingly loud moans and how he has to hold your shoulder to keep himself upright. When Doyoung finally climaxes, you angle his dick so his cum splashes all over his shirt and suit jacket. You don’t stop stroking him until he whines out loud and nudges your hand away from his overstimulated cock. Some of his cum has dripped on your hand, too, and you wipe that on his pants. Lucky for you—and not so lucky for him—he‘s wearing light gray today.
It takes him a minute to recover from his orgasm, and you watch him with a devious smile as he regains his senses. You’re even more delighted when he looks down and sees the mess he’s made of himself.
“Y/N, my clothes…” You’re already standing up from the desk and pulling your underwear back on, along with your coat and shoes.
“That’s too bad, isn’t it? Gonna stain, too. You’ll have to walk out of here like that, and let’s not forget how you always take the subway on Fridays to save gas money.” Once you’ve tidied yourself back up, you give him another pitiful look. “Well, see you at work on Monday, okay?”
Doyoung can only watch your retreating figure as you walk to the elevator and get on, giving him one last amused wave before disappearing to the ground floor.
Perhaps the wildest part of it all, despite his soiled clothes and the night of work still ahead of him, is that he’d do it all over again if you asked.

In the time it took for everyone else to get worked into a panic, Logan had come up with a few theories on why, exactly, their connection with Thomas would be so suddenly muted.
Of course, many of those theories were only useful if they could be proven, and seeing as they  had a limited amount of time and space to work with, he could set them aside to figure out the direct, exact cause another time.
For now, the priority was finding their way back home. Once they were able to reconnect with their part of the mindscape, their connection with Thomas would also hopefully repair itself.
“Think of our current status as dealing with some temporary interference,” he told the others. “Once we leave the subconscious, our metaphorical signals should reach Thomas again.”
“‘Should?’” Anxiety asked, looking dubious.
“And how are we to leave when this shadowy scourge is thwarting our every escape attempt?” Roman added, glaring balefully up at Anxiety.
“Hey, you technically haven’t made any escapes yet, so I technically haven’t thwarted anything yet.” Anxiety ignored Roman’s exasperated expression with ease, shrugging. “Schrodinger’s Thwarting.”
“Anxiety, kiddo,” Patton stepped a little closer, pulling them all back on track, “I don’t think we should stay down here for too much longer. It’s not good for us to be disconnected from our rooms like this.”
“And that’s not even mentioning the fact that we don’t know how Thomas is functioning without his core sides connected to him,” Logan added, hoping that the other Side was in a reasonable mood.
Anxiety kept his face neutral, but Logan could see the little crease between his eyebrows and the way he went slightly paler. “It’s still too dangerous to risk without a plan.”
“And with a plan?” Logan pressed.
Anxiety’s shoulders bunched up even further, and for a moment he was worried he’d gone too far, but then the other Side let out an irritated sigh.
“If it’s actually that concerning, and I can more than imagine how it could be, then. I guess. We could try. With a plan,” he emphasized as Patton perked up excitedly. “One that I agree to.”
“That’ll only take us a lifetime,” Roman grumbled, but even he seemed revitalized now that they were getting somewhere.
Logan found himself getting excited as well. “In that case, I need all the information you have on routes to neutral territory and the weather cycles here.”
Anxiety materialized the data into files on a touchscreen phone, which would work quite efficiently as a display considering their size. “Good luck figuring anything out. This end of the mindscape is way more… chaotic. Stuff’s always changing.”
“I don’t mind a challenge,” Logan reassured him, and then set to work making spreadsheets and comparing trends. It was almost soothing.
In the background, he could hear Patton asking about who they were most likely to encounter if they attempted to beeline for the neutral zone, and Roman bartering for possession of his sword back. (The trade seemed to be settling on Anxiety handing over the sword in exchange for no stabbing and no nicknames for a week. Roman was perhaps more reluctant to stop generating witty quips than necessary.)
As Logan suspected, when Anxiety didn’t feel implicitly threatened by them, he was much more open. Though, that might have also been the exposure to Patton’s determined friendliness, which Anxiety seemed to eye with the wariness of a stray cat. He’d have to bring this up the next time they had a debate about the effectiveness of so many of Thomas’s Sides being hidden away.
Now wasn't the time for that, however. Now was the time for action, as Roman liked to proclaim.
“I’ve found the best path for us to take,” he announced, drawing all eyes to him.
Probably no time for an illustrative powerpoint to demonstrate how he’d come to this conclusion. Perhaps later. A summary of the plan would do fine.
Roman and Patton glanced up at the large side frequently, but Anxiety listened with a critical attentiveness that Logan found himself appreciating. At the end, his brow was furrowed, but he didn’t seem fully decided one way or the other.
“This plan will only work in our current time frame,” Logan cautioned. “As you said, the landscape of this place is always shifting, so we need to take advantage of the patterns that we can. I expect getting lost would not end well.”
Anxiety nodded, and then seemed to come to a decision.
“If you’re certain that it’s the best time… Fine, I’ll believe you.” Anxiety grumped, his body language already displaying several signs that he was growing nervous at the idea.
Logan blinked once, genuinely surprised that he had convinced the other Side, before regaining his composure. No time to be touched by Anxiety’s apparent faith in him. “All the data I reviewed points to this being the best opportunity.”
“One condition,” Anxiety said, holding up a finger. “If it seems like the plan has failed and things get dangerous, our backup plan is giving me access so I can rise up.”
Roman raised a sharp eyebrow, his sword once again sheathed at his side. “I seem to distinctly recall you freaking out about that idea?”
Anxiety made a face at him. “Yeah, and I’ll continue to not like it, but if it keeps you losers from getting discorporated, I’ll deal. Do you guys agree or not?”
Logan traded looks with the other two, and then nodded. “It’s a reasonable backup plan.”
“Sure,” Anxiety snorted, and then hesitated for a moment before reaching out and placing his uninjured hand palm up on the table next to them.
Patton plopped himself down immediately, but Roman wasn’t as eager.
“I am not going back in your pocket,” Roman told him, unimpressed. “Lint on my outfit is a no-no, let alone giant lint.”
“Your outfit is already ruined,” Anxiety snapped back, rolling his eyes. The blood on the white outfit somewhat resembled a candy cane.
Logan raised a hand to interject before it could become an argument. “If I may suggest, your hood seems like it would both give us more space and allow for a vantage point to watch your back.”
“I can watch my own back,” Anxiety growled, and then sighed. “Just don’t fall out.”
He was exceedingly careful as he reached behind him to the hood of his jacket, and the three of them had no problem getting in, though they did end up knocking a few limbs against each other in the process.
As Logan expected, it was much easier to grip the folds of the hoodie fabric and looking over the edge of it gave them a vertigo-inducing view.
“Okay,” Anxiety said, sounding as though he was speaking more to himself than them. “Let’s do this. It’s probably going to crash and burn horribly, but whatever.”
“Remind me to speak with you about cognitive distortions later,” Logan mused.
From where he was peeking over Virgil’s shoulder, Patton cheered. “Woohoo, you can do it!”
“With our talents to help, we can’t fail,” Roman added, making some sort of dramatic flourish that Anxiety couldn't even see. “Onwards!”
“What am I, a horse?” Anxiety shot back, and then firmed his shoulders slightly and stepped to his door. “Remember, low in the hoodie so you aren’t seen.”
After receiving a chorus of agreements, he took an audible breath and stepped through the door.
The hoodie bounced slightly against his back with every step, but nothing too jarring. Logan resisted the completely illogical urge to hold his breath as they descended the creaking stairs.
After a long moment, Anxiety’s shoulders lowered slightly. “Nobody’s down here.”
He picked his way carefully through the living area, until they were back where they started, at that huge, weathered front door. It seemed much less insurmountable from Anxiety’s eye level. The other Side grabbed the knob and pushed it open, stepping over the threshold.
They all let out a breath of relief.
From there, Logan’s attention was consumed with providing directions in a low mutter, carefully navigating their way through the shifting, fog-covered landscape. Patton occasionally pointed out a distant landmark he maybe recognized, mostly unhelpfully.
Still, all factors considered, they made it a fair distance before things went wrong.
Anxiety had just taken the first step over a wooden bridge when the hair-raising cackle split the air behind them. At Logan’s side, Roman latched onto his wrist with an iron grip.
Anxiety held still for a moment longer before turning around, his hands tucked into his pockets in a faux gesture of casualness. “Remus. I thought silently stalking people in the dead of night was too subtle for you?”
There was an unpleasant crack of bone that made Logan glad he couldn’t see Remus. “Wouldn’t want to scare the little emo and his little uninvited stowaways off, would I?”
The three of them exchanged panicked looks. He knew?
Anxiety took a step back, hissing in frustration. “Are you the reason they’re like this? Or Dee?”
Another cackle. “The enchantment was all me! Double D would ruin my fun if he knew. But you’re no spoilsport! I can already feel all the exciting new additions to this game you’re thinking up in that squishy grey matter of yours. We can have a little fun together! Whaddya say?”
Anxiety took another step back, his back twitching with the urge to turn and flee. “Remus. C’mon. Think about Thomas.”
The atmosphere suddenly darkened, sending a chill down Logan’s spine.
“Maybe he’s the one who should be thinking about us,” Remus said, the grin in his voice suddenly much more menacing. “I know you’re tired of being ignored, Anxiety. You’re just as sick of our snakey friend’s interference as I am. Without them, there will be space for us!”
“Thomas needs them,” Anxiety urged, his rough voice a sharp contrast to Remus’s singsong encouragement.
“Puh-lease, we’re not taking them away forever! The Core Bores are like cockroaches; you just can’t get rid of ‘em, even when you crush their little heads.” A thoughtful pause. “They’re just about cockroach-sized now, too!”
Roman’s grip grew painfully tight.
Anxiety shook his head, jostling them slightly, and then began to slowly back across the bridge. The tension in him seemed to scream that he wanted to turn tail and flee, give into his flight instinct. But he couldn’t turn without putting them directly in Remus’s line of sight.
“Don’t be so antsy! I know you want to be noticed as bad as I do,” Remus advanced with slow, predatory steps.
Anxiety was too far from the other end of the bridge. He’d be caught.
Logan made pointed eye contact with the others, and held his free hand out, palm down.
“What I want doesn’t matter here. It’s too risky! It’s. Not. Happening.” They were stepping faster now, the noise overlapping.
Patton nodded once, placing his own hand on top. They both looked to Roman.
“Aw, that’s what I never got about you, emo. You’re always too scared to jump in and grab the bull by the horns! A little goring can be its own kind of fun, y’know.”
Roman’s expression finally turned certain, and he slammed his own hand down, completing the stack.
All of them felt it when the balance shifted, and there was a heartbeat of stillness before everything erupted.
Anxiety turned on his heel and bolted, seconds before a manic, ear-splitting scream split the air from behind them.
“YOU’RE LEAVING US!”
“Rise up!” Roman screeched, clinging to the hood’s fabric for dear life. “Rise up!”
“I don’t know how!” Anxiety yelled back, ducking and weaving through the fog-filled forest that had formed around them. “I’m trying to— it’s not the same as just appearing!”
“You have to stay in one spot and focus,” Patton said, trying hard to keep his voice calm. “You can do this!”
Anxiety came to a standstill, and for a few breathless seconds, they waited.
“It’s… it’s not working!”
“Try and focus on where you want to appear. Let yourself rise, don’t try to control it—“ Logan caught a flicker of movement behind them. “Watch out!”
Anxiety twisted out of the way, a double headed axe thunking into the trunk of a nearby tree. He clenched his fists, closing his eyes tightly, and Logan finally felt the familiar sensation of their part of the mindscape dropping into place around them.
He caught one last glimpse of Remus, body twisted into a throwing gesture and gaze almost shocked, before the scene changed to their living room.
Anxiety staggered, face pale, and the lot of them ended up sprawled over the length of the staircase, ungraceful but undoubtedly home and the right size once more.
A moment spent catching their breath, and then.
“We made it!” Patton yelled, voice cracking in relief as he threw his arms out, laid out on his back.
From the carpeted landing he was still facedown on, Roman grunted an exhausted affirmation.
“It was a close call,” Logan said, pushing himself up and dusting his tie off. “We’ll need to take precautions for the future.”
“Good thing we have Anxiety!” Patton said brightly. “He’s an expert at precautionary measures!”
“As long as he doesn’t precaution Thomas into never going outside again,” Roman muttered, with no real aggression to his tone. He seemed just as glad that Anxiety had gotten them all out of there, if not more.
Anxiety didn’t rise to the bait. Logan turned to thank the other Side properly, and was met with the sight of him curled in over himself, a hunched over ball of hoodie. “... Anxiety?”
With a hoarse cry of pain, the Side yanked something from his side. A comically oversized throwing knife, drenched in a slick coating—
“Oh,” Anxiety said in a small voice, struggling to stem the bloodflow from the stab wound in his torso. “Shit.”
Within seconds, a dark stain began to spread, and Logan immediately lurched forwards, trying to seal the wound, erase it, even just put enough pressure on it to clot the bleeding—
Anxiety inhaled sharply. Nothing about the nature of the wound changed. It wasn’t healing. Logan’s hands were covered in warm-wet-red and nothing was healing.
Past the ringing in his ears, he could hear the others yelling behind him, trying to accelerate Anxiety’s integration into the conscious mind.
All he could focus on was Anxiety’s face, tight with pain and resignation.
“It’s fine,” he muttered, the hitch in his voice betraying him. “We can’t die. It’s fine. Can you— Can you feel Thomas?”
Logan nodded stitedly. The connection was faint, but growing stronger.
Anxiety nodded once, sharply. “Good. That’s— That’s all that matters.”
Then, like the question had been all that was keeping him awake, he went limp like a puppet with strings cut.

Using SharePoint as your Knowledge Management System
Deploying SharePoint as an enterprise’s knowledge management system can help streamline the access to information for various departments and the processes they are associated with, leading to increased efficiency and reduced errors.
Many organizations must collect and process data at a great speed in order to drive critical business processes that generate revenue, and often require a powerful platform to do so. This is also why most leading organizations put having an effective Knowledge Management System (KMS) or data management capabilities among their top business priorities. Microsoft SharePoint, among other things, works as a powerful knowledge management system that not only integrates with other Microsoft solutions such Power BI, Word, Excel, etc. but also third-party platforms/tools for CRM, ERP, etc.
SharePoint can help you create an efficient knowledge management system for your teams that seamlessly works around your organization’s document management workflows to optimize them. So let’s take a look at the potential uses of SharePoint as your business’s primary knowledge management system.
What is a knowledge management system?
Knowledge Management Systems are a combination of IT tools to help organize, implement, and analyze the enterprise’s collective data generated both internally and externally. To put it simply, a KMS is all about optimizing the knowledge flow across the organization and processing it in a way that’s easily understood by all stakeholders.
In day-to-day business operations, an organization has to process a huge amount of data from internal and external sources and plan business strategies accordingly. Additionally, the decision has to be communicated effectively across all functional departments as soon as possible to make the right managerial decisions.
In the absence of effective data management or document systems, business data may exist in a disorganized, hard to access, and unsecured format. In such instances, the organization might end up wasting precious time and resources finding the right information at the right time, which allows competitors to fill in the gap. That’s why, implementing an efficient and reliable knowledge management system is important both from an internal process efficiency angle and as a competitive strategy.
Moreover, managing the hierarchy of information to be distributed is crucial to forming a synergy between various departments in an organization. An effective KMS built using standardized and robust document management and collaboration platform like SharePoint can optimize the information flow among internal teams for faster decision-making.
SharePoint as a knowledge management system
SharePoint has come a long way since its beginnings as a data storage and management platform for organizations. Today, it can utilize a plethora of Microsoft tools to create a comprehensive Knowledge Management System which can be customized for various business needs.
Today, more and more growing businesses are choosing SharePoint as a data management system simply because of the sheer simplicity of using it. SharePoint can also process a huge amount of dynamic data and present it in an easily understandable way in the form of flowcharts, spreadsheets, word documents, etc. This data can be further shared among the various business departments and aid collective decision-making. According to the data stored and analyzed, leadership teams can assign dedicated operations to the respective departments.
With that being said, here are various business operations where SharePoint Knowledge Management System can optimize your business.
1. Internal knowledge base
SharePoint can be used as a shared organizational source that can be used for storing and managing internal data. It’s a collaborative platform where any individual within an organization can store information in the system and access it to get the job done.
Data like this is often accessed through a company-exclusive intranet and websites which often requires secured login to access it. SharePoint creates a comprehensive internal data storage ecosystem where employees can add and update crucial data which can be accessed at any time for future use.
The volume of information generated internally is a vital asset for the company that drives important decisions. This could include updating company policies, planning the next sales or marketing campaign, assessing the current loopholes in the system and means to rectify them, and more.
2. Role-based access
The foundation of information flow can be determined by the hierarchy of your business structure. Whether your organization has a top-down or flat hierarchy within various departments, it determines what kind of information reaches at which level of management.
This is where role-based access comes in. Using SharePoint as your enterprise KMS, you can assign rules for access to data according to the nature of information and grant access to only those individuals who need that data. Enabling role-based access adds further security to crucial data through a login ID and password or other forms of multi-factor authentication.
3. Advanced data sharing
As mentioned before, one of the biggest strengths of SharePoint lies in its ability to efficiently store, classify, and manage a variety of data and document types, and making it accessible to the right person(s) within an organization whenever necessary. This data can be in the form of a word document, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentation, PDF, and even multimedia like videos and podcasts.
SharePoint segregates the data input according to the file format and context of the data, making it easily accessible using the right keywords or through relevant tags assigned to documents. Moreover, people can interact with the data in real-time, thus creating a collaborative work environment. For instance, many people can work on a single file such as a PDF or a slideshow and give real-time feedback for faster turnaround time. Additionally, people within the organization can also share information in the form of videos and podcasts to get latest insights which can further improve the project quality in an engaging way.
Adapting to a dynamic business environment
The global work culture has changed drastically in the last year. As a large number of companies across the globe prioritize enabling employees to work from home, they also need to provide them an efficient digital infrastructure that allows a seamless and secure flow of information. Not only can collaboration tools such as SharePoint or Microsoft 365 reduce the cost of building and maintaining complex document management systems and workflows, but it also reduces the superfluous costs incurred on repetitive tasks and broken workflows due to errors.
In this scenario, the role of the knowledge management system becomes even more important as the information traveling throughout the organization isn’t limited to one office space. Creating a global knowledge management ecosystem will streamline the business operation so that work can be done effectively and efficiently through various sources.
SharePoint offers highly customizable and advanced document management capabilities, sorting complex information inflow, processing it in a simplified manner, and making it available to the right people no matter where they are. For businesses operating remotely, it is more important now than ever to incorporate SharePoint to keep up with the changing work environment and gain a significant competitive advantage with the right tools.
Additional benefits of SharePoint as a KMS
Apart from being an ideal knowledge management system of the new era, SharePoint can also be used to streamline various business functions that require little to no human involvement.
Perhaps the biggest strength of SharePoint is its ability to analyze data and create customized workflows. It further helps drive increased efficiency by restructuring the information hierarchy for maximum productivity and faster turnaround on processes. More importantly, SharePoint can be used to create a robust communication and feedback loop connecting departments such as HR, marketing, finance, etc., thus helping streamline processes and audits.
And it doesn’t stop here. SharePoint also helps tremendously in support functions like customer relationship management by processing previous customer interactions and predicting the next purchase cycle. Also, SharePoint helps in creating a collaborative workspace that enables employees to access the data and work on it anytime, anywhere.
To sum it up, SharePoint has the potential to be a one-stop solution for managing multiple interconnected business processes through efficient knowledge management and distribution. When deployed effectively and in conjunction with other Microsoft solutions such as Power BI or Power Automate, SharePoint can empower businesses to make smarter, data-driven decisions and improve the bottom line.
