Sometimes, when I want to cry, I think abt Daryl as a kid.

I imagine what it would be like to talk about him before he was so hurt by his father, before he was forced to toughen up. He was probably so sweet, just a kid who needed love.

He was probably a momma's boy, too. He would've loved affection, he would've loved giving hugs. He'd have a sweet little smile that he wasn't afraid to show. He wouldn't be scared to talk or share how he was feeling.

I definitely rushed through it on the first draft, but I wanted the buildup and the subtle hints as to what was really going on, along with wilbur's own denial. he trusts phil so much at this point, he doesn't want to believe that phil would betray him like this but he did and it hurts so much
