mattheo riddle, f1 ferrari superstar, is officially back on the market. he has announced his split from evelyn swann after 4 years of dating. he went onto instagram (via mattheoriddle) to say, "good morning everyone. evelyn and i have decided to part ways and stay close friends. we have shared many many amazing memories together, and she will always carry a piece of my heart with her. she deserves the very best, and i was not able to do so due to my racing career.

amidst of this, i will continue to focus on my racing career and hope to be better.

thank you, evelyn for everything."

swann (via @lynnieswann) also released a statement on her instagram: "mattheo and i decided to end our relationship and continue to stay good friends. these last four years were filled with unforgettable memories. i will continue to support his endeavors from afar. he was an amazing person. thank you for everything <3"

close insiders have said despite the good endnotes shown on their instagram stories that the relationship was far far from perfect. it was said that riddle would continuously string swann along, leaving her for long periods of time without any words said before coming back to her with extravagant gifts. it is evident through past instagram stories of swann that riddle loves to shower her with expensive gifts and nights out.

more insider comments have said that riddle's feelings for swann seemed to fizzle out around their 3rd year of dating, but he stayed due to swann's significant investment within the team from her family's technology company. though, there has not been any evidence of this.

mattheo riddle is a formula one driver for scuderia ferrari. evelyn swann is a fashion model/influencer, as well as the daughter of the multimillionaire technology company, swanntech, founders, liam and kate swann.

scrolling through the endless articles about high-class breakups, celebrity gossip, and the occasional helpful news, the objective of finishing your art piece was lost. attempting to start as soon as possible, but the energy and creativity did not want to translate on the canvas. though, the silence was interrupted with a thud of the front door closing.

"i was gone for a couple of hours and not even a sketch is on your canvas," your roommate and best friend, emilia scotts, chuckled as she hung up her coat.

"easier for you to say, the random pull of the prompt, 'fast life,' seems so hard. like, where do i even start?" you huffed, tossing your phone to the side.

she shrugged before plopping herself next to you on the couch, "you've been going at this for like the past two days. i'm pretty sure the prompt doesn't even matter, the rubric just wanted you to capture a moment in oil paint."

"the problem is i can't think of anything," you pursed your lips, dropping your head into her shoulder.

"what about this? i'll help you with your project next week if you come with me in monaco. an hour flight away in my private jet," the idea of leaving your art project behind at current was all it took for her to convince you.

emilia was a monegasque socialite. her high class of being the daughter of the chief financial officer of a multimillionaire technology company led to being an eligible resident of country. though, her parents had sent her off to boarding school, lenox academy, which led you both to meeting. not as prestige as being an offspring of a chief financial officer of a global technology company, but your parents stayed afloat through their success in health care management.

despite a long term friendship, you had not a clue of emilia's friends and acquaintances in monaco. assuming that the experience would be similar to what you see in her stories of the parties in monaco: calm, refined, and classy, you would be able to bask in relaxation, but it is the exact opposite.

the party of an unnamed host in a penthouse. the first ten minutes upon entering the event was emilia hauling you around the floor, introducing you to her acquaintances. some were familiar from your family, some were only familiar due to how much emilia loves to gossip with the amount of receipts on her phone. though, the more you looked around, the more faces you recognized from being headlined on news article from actors, musicians, athletes.

"she has a way with talking to people, that's for sure," lisette commented. according to emilia, she was a friend of the person hosting, but the amount of names that she had mentioned fell through your ears.

"it's a double edged sword of her friendliness, one day she'll be buddy-buddy with them but gets the career-ending dirt on them. i don't know how she does it," you sipped on the alcohol, slightly gagging at the potentness of it. a reminder to not get that the blue bottle.

"tell me about it..." lisette chuckled before nodding her head to some other random people that entered the party. she chugged her cup empty before tossing it into the trash, " i see some people that i need to say hi to. i'll be back hopefully, you gonna be alright?"

"don't worry about it. there are some people here that i know that'll let me hang around if i just walk up to them," you waved her off.

there were truth in your words, but they were not in your line of sight anymore from where you were standing. emilia was absolutely no where to be found. tossing away the half-filled cup, the penthouse looked large enough to explore around. the paintings and art near the entrance seemed to be more interesting than the thumping bass of mediocre music.

your shoulders dropped, letting out a tired sigh. never doing this again. exploring the hallway of small sculptures and large paintings drowned the tones and lightened the slightly dim lights. fast life. you pulled your phone out, snapping pictures of the art pieces and its details. though even from a distance, you captured a couple of pictures of the party, figured it might be useful.

murmurs were heard as you leaned closely to the painting, figuring out the brush strokes and the fine details. though, a call of your name was heard. looking to the direction, you found your lost friend handing a phone back to a man, allowing you to smile in relief of your savior.

"emilia, guess what. i think i have a gist of what i could do for my art project," you called out to her. though, you accidentally brushed into the male that she was just talking to, in which you paid not much mind to, muttering out a small apology in french.

"really, that sounds great. since we're here, i got us passes to the monaco f1 race. i know someone in one of the teams that can help with the photography aspect. i think that could help with your project, y'know fast life."

"actually? sounds great, to be honest."

"do you know this girl?"

mattheo was skimming through the pictures that enzo had shared with him from the party. there was a female in the background, admiring the art gallery on the wall. though, he admired more of the way she lit up talking about the details of the paintings from when he had turned around.

"no, mate, she looks familiar though. i do know the girl that she was talking to, emilia scotts, the girl who took the pictures of us," enzo looked up briefly before returning to his digital camera.

he hummed in response. a small smile on his lips as he remembered the way she accidentally bumped into him. the smell of a fresh and clean yet sweet scent distinct from the musky scent of the party. "do you think you can find her on instagram, somehow?"

"already did. her name is y/n l/n, if i recall, i think her parents own or manage within the healthcare field. the last name sounded too familiar," enzo muttered in concentration, trying to remember anything related to this girl.

mattheo's phone vibrated in his hand, seeing the instagram notification from enzo. pulling down to see what was sent, it was a link to your profile. he immediately clicked on it, there were not many followers, assuming that you opted for a much quieter lifestyle. though, you intently looking at the art in the background of the pictures made more sense seeing that you added that you were an art major. upon stalking more, he found your art-based instagram and found that you were an exchange university student studying in france for a year.

"i reckon that you aren't planning to go after her, mattheo. i thought you were focusing on your racing career," enzo said, mischief laced in his tone.

"''m not, just curious," he tossed his phone to the side, head perking up to the bathroom door closing to see theodore drying his hair from his shower.

"what did i miss?" theodore questioned the silence, as well as enzo's smirk, knowing that someone's mind was either up to no good or he had something to share.

"nothing, just seeing how long mattheo's eligible bachelor streak lasts," enzo chuckled, causing theodore to look at mattheo with an amused face.

mattheo scoffs at this, "you both think lowly of me, i swear."

"why shouldn't we? you broke up with evelynn because she couldn't handle you being toxic, and you also say you want to focus on your racing career," theodore put air quotations around toxic after tossing his hair towel on the wooden chair. he leaned back with his hands behind his head, "is she cute, at least?"

"remember the girl that bumped into me at the party earlier?"

"you didn't even see her face. there's no way you're breaking your week and a half of being single with a half of an interaction. not even," theodore appalled at the confession while enzo broke out into a fit of laughter. "you're on some joke things, absolutely not."

mattheo eyed both in a deadpan expression. wow, hilarious, even.

a coughing fit emerged from enzo as he tried to calm down, taking in breathing exercises in between coughs, "if it helps, not saying i would condone you for immediately rebounding after a 4 year relationship. i requested passes for emilia, so they'll mainly be in the mclaren paddock, but i can assume since her dad is a sponsor, she can probably request to walk around past mclaren. a chance to maybe or maybe not talk to your bump in the park."

"okay, enzo, not your finest joke." theodore commented.

mattheo sought pass the backhanded comment, but it was too soon. that he could agree on, but introducing himself and leaving an impression was not too soon. not when he feels the strings of his heart tug thinking about the small details of you, even if it was just for a moment.

Any timeline news bestie?

actually yeah!! a good chunk of news that i need to officially type up and source, but if you want to just take me at my word that i’m not making up interviews:

@1989worldtour and @taylor-on-your-dash found an old interview where taylor says she wrote back to december in new york, meaning it was likely written in early/mid may 2010

in that same interview she also said she wrote mine while on tour, probably in texas (that’s her saying probably texas not me). which would put it march 10-12 2010. the thing that trips me up about that though is scott borchetta said she showed it to him in february, which isn’t a big time difference, but taylor left for the bahamas right after texas. i don’t know exactly what day she left, so it’s possible she flew from texas to nashville’s to the bahamas and recorded the first mine demo then, but unless she did that the next time she could be in nashville would be on the 21st, and the next time she’s in nashville for longer than a day would be march 29, both of which are pushing the february mix up. but no matter what taylor probably wrote it in early march, since all the dates in february were in australia and tokyo, which seem hard to mix up with texas.

in that same interview she said she started mean in her kitchen but then had to leave to go play a show. that could be whenever, but the only 2010 show she played without a show right before/after it was in baton rouge on may 29, where she had two days off before and after it, so speculation but better than the “idk sometime in spring?” that i had it under before

(side salad: you might be thinking claire, is that too many may 2010 songs? and if you’ve read the speak now timeline you might be thinking, but what about long live in the first week of june and the story of us in the second week of june? is that too many songs? and to that i’d say wow, thank you for paying so much attention. but, taylor does go into writing frenzies in the months right before she finishes an album, and she finished writing for speak now in june and recording for it in july, so like. it makes sense that there’d be a cluster right at the end)

nathan chapman, the guy who produced basically every song taylor recorded between 2006-2011, posted a couple photos from the speak now and red sessions! unfortunately we don’t know which song she was making in the speak now picture (my kingdom for speak now studio credits), but the one from red is likely girl at home— it is the only released song taylor made with him at his house after cutting her bangs and straightening her hair

and some super early tortured poets speculation— on october 17, post malone said he’d just hung out with taylor, and on october 20 deuxmoi said taylor had just been in LA working with a new producer. dm is normally absolute dogshit at getting information out of taylor’s camp, but idk about post malone/whatever producer’s side of things. so i’m putting a very shaky maybe on fortnight in october 2023

if anyone has an opportunity to enter electric lady studios please tell me if they have a tan couch in front of a dark wood background. i have crawled through their website and instagram and i can find no such couch but taylor and jack working in a non-electric lady/his house studio would be insane (EDIT JACK BUILT A NEW STUDIO IN LA AND THE PHOTOS I WAS TRYING TO TRACK DOWN WERE PROBABLY TAKEN THERE)

Maryland plans to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge in just over four years at an estimated cost between $1.7 billion and $1.9 billion, a state transportation official said Thursday. As salvage efforts continue, authorities also announced late Wednesday they had recovered the body of a fifth person who died in the March 26 collapse. The state plans to build a new span by fall of 2028, said David Broughton, a spokesman for the Maryland Department of Transportation. He said the cost estimate is preliminary, and detailed engineering specifics have not been confirmed. Late Wednesday, authorities announced they recovered the body of a fifth person who was missing after the collapse of the bridge more than a month ago, shutting down the port of Baltimore, one of the busiest ports in the country. Six members of a roadwork crew plunged to their deaths on March 26 when a container ship lost power and crashed into one of the bridge’s supporting columns. The Key Bridge Response Unified Command announced that the victim found Wednesday was identified as Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez, 49, of Glen Burnie, Maryland. All of the victims were Latino immigrants who came to the United States from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

ok so i checked and the stitcher premium app doesn't block screen recording (and the audio is fully in tact with these recordings too) so i'm thinking with the app being shut down a month from now + the unknown future of if ptsdiva is gonna be available publicly on another platform maybe now is the time for me to just screen record as much as i can just so this podcast doesn't become lost media

the only issue is idk if my phone would have the space for hours worth of screen recordings, but maybe i can upload them to a google drive or something? or maybe even if i just did some of the comedy segments (i.e. how scott would either begin or end each episode with a character monologue) i could put them on tumblr as audio posts? would people be into that?

idk i'll be back in toronto at some point before the app is taken down so i'll ask scott about whether he knows if it's backed up anywhere, but considering he didn't even know the app was being taken down until i alerted him, i might be the number one person on this media preservation case

ugh it's very disheartening how throughout my buddy cole research + being a fan of kids in the hall in general i'm realizing so much of their stuff is genuinely at risk of becoming lost media. like the original tv show, brain candy, death comes to town, etc. those are pretty well protected against that fate bc of physical media and just the popularity of them. but fuck, even 2 levels deeper on this hypothetical iceberg and you start getting to passion projects that might not have had a widespread release but are so important to the story, stuff that was literally made for the internet like scottland and ewe, and sure parts of ewe are still up (the only truly lost pieces are the videos which were uploaded via flash) and scottland's homepage is on the wayback machine, but literally the only thing keeping half my buddy cole timeline from being lost media is the fact that someone bought paul bellini a video camera in the 80s and he made archiving things his whole personality for a time.

and like it makes sense on some level that scottland or the lowest show or the buddy cole sitcom would be at risk bc they're all over a decade old, never officially released, etc. but like.... ptsdiva was released in 2019. it's not even four years old yet. it's not just a half-made project that got stalled in development, it's a full piece that had a major impact on my life

and i just look at this. and i think about how last time i saw scott irl he asked bruce if there was any way to get a physical version of their amazon season. bc streaming services make things vanish all the time, and if amazon one day decides to just drop their kith stuff altogether, an extremely important piece of the kids in the hall story, literally their entire sixth season, could get the same fate as scottland.

so days ago i had a dream i never really wrote down for some reason so ill drop it in your askbox <(￣︶￣)>

this dream was set in college and the room looked similar except it was like at a high af floor building (this is relevant later) and there was clearly some Scott Pilgrim Shit going on because i had a crush on someone in the class and i was speedrunning what the teacher was explaining and my dream self decided to talk to them and they read my mind or something and gave me a quest to....

play the horror game they made(i have no horror tolerance) before a certain timelimit passed where they would get bored of this timeline and hop to another one "adhd-style" and if i managed to beat the horror game they made in time they would teach me how to timeline hop too and bring me along

i somehow started dual wielding both programming and gaming but my ass was so fucking scared at the horror game because it switched gameplay entirely everytime i opened a door and for some reason it induced eldritch fear in me

eventually a crowd gathered around me to give me moral support but then i had finally beaten the game after some arduous few minutes of me almost shitting myself(figuratively) because of a room where the doors jumpscared you and i just stood up with power brimming out of my soul and i walked up to them and they looked at me like "you are worthy. congratulations are in order" and then they raised their hand and the floor fucking collapsed?

i was sent to an alternate version of the classroom where the floor was part floor and part water and people were boating to get to their seats and leave the classroom and i looked for them around the water version of the classroom but couldnt find them and then i fucked up my boating skilps and fell off flying the tall as fuck classroom and below was a dance competition in a mall that i landed on and the judge said i had nice af moves and asked what my name was and i said "im sorry i just fell here by accident.... ill be taking my leave...." and the judge looked kinda sad and annoyed that i wasnt an official competitor and i wanted to leave quietly but the place was crowded

and instead of leaving through the door i saw a power outlet and since no one was near it and entered it and fucking entered the Cable Dimension which kinda hurt to be in but i managed to move to a different place of the mall and there was a game convention and they were showing this timeline's version of honkai impact as like a non-mobile action game similar to devil may cry and ultrakill and i started playing the demo there because holy shit blorbo from My Timeline????

the gameplay was odd because kiana's moveset was highly different but she looked like white comet still

like she had her normal white comet moveset but Cooler and an ability to turn the game into a 3rd person shooter by pulling out her gun but her bullets had a mechanic where if you hold the fire button instead of tapping and swing the aim fast with the mouse, releasing mid-swing would cause you to shoot a bullet that would curve to the opposite direction (with slight auto aim) and change the way it impacted the enemy

i remember like doing a heavy attack in this version of honkai impact with wildly different gameplay where kiana used a paw from white comet to send the enemy flying like to the left and i used a swinging bullet to the right immediately after the heavy attack and the bullet curved around and hit the enemy from the back and sent them back to kiana

also kiana had glowing orange strings she could throw enemies around and swing around spiderman-style with it was odd

my time on the honkai demo was over so i went to check out another game and it was a fucked up vr fighting game where your physical strength actually mattered and was required to cast your special moves and i met the person from before and i called them out and they just fucking one shotted me in the game somehow

i asked how the fuck they did that if the game is based on actual strength and how they timeline hopped and they just told me "I am this timeline. You are living in me."

so i guess i had a dream where i dated a timeline(?) and they showed me a version of honkai impact that was a mix of ultrakill and dmc and i dont know how to feel other than that this is another idea i could use to draw a yuri webcomic out of if i could draw

I fell asleep with my phone on, so this was the first thing I saw when I woke up so I was a bit like the Mr Krabs meme💀💀

Also, I haven’t seen every single leak or piece of information (I mentioned a while back that I get overstimulated) so these could very well be wrong!

1. My biggest one (walk with me on this!!) is that Vanessa and Michael are going to be related somehow. NOW, HEAR ME OUT!!

The first thing I noticed was that Mike, Abby and ‘Mike’s Mom’ all have dark hair, whereas William is *supposedly* either greying, or has light coloured hair (is it blonde??) Yes, genetics work like that, but I remember seeing one kid that had to dye his hair blonde (he seemed to be part of the missing kids). From what I saw of the photo, all of the kids had their canon appearance (Gabriel is being played by a black kid, a red head kid for Fritz etc)…

This could’ve just been changed based off of auditions (again, don’t take this seriously😭 [not OP but certain fans]) but the only blonde missing kid was Susie. IDK if they’ve casted a CC, but it could very well be that CC in the is blonde (Also note, Elizabeth was the only blonde kid in the family in the games👀) like his father (✨recessive genes✨). KEEP THAT IN MIND!!

Mike and Vanessa being the same age is strange, considering if this film had followed game canon, it’d be impossible for them to be the same age (Michael was likely born in late 60’s/Early 70’s, and Vanessa is like late 20’s/early 30’s in Security Breach). Considering William is an awful person, it’s not too unlikely that he could’ve cheated on his wife around the time Michael was born. Again, going back to the blonde hair, and the speculation of the ‘A’ in her name… (I hope I don’t sound like MatPat or something💀) (EDIT HALFWAY THROUGH ME TYPING: ‘Unnamed Female Villain’ is also blonde, and an older woman👀) /I’m just saying, IDK who she is so her role should be interesting considering there’s not many villains?!/

2. Moving on… I don’t think Abby is going to die in this. I remember seeing that there’s a three movie deal with Universal, and so the obvious choice is to drag it out 💰💸 (Scott Cawthorn is LAUGHING) but also, it seems like there’s far too much ground to cover.

3. Maybe there’s a reason for an ‘Abby Schmidt’ rather than ‘Elizabeth Afton’ (her only documented name), and I think that it’s just because they changed their name after everything went down. I think the Schmidt’s are going to have close contact with their mother, whilst she and William are estranged. Also, Mike is likely Abby’s sole provider.

4. We are going to be confused about something else in the timeline. No doubt. Questions may be answered but ATP it’s FNAF’s brand to confuse us and leave us hanging💀

5. Hank is Henry, no doubt!

6. I don’t think William is being spring-locked just yet.

7. Vanessa and Mike are going to meet at the mall as security guards, and they’re going to become close. (I’ve said this before)The betrayal (if you can call it that) will be when she’s pulled to the dark side after learning about what happened! I think therapy is going to be significant too, since they cast a DR. I think she’ll be more a part of Vanessa’s storyline (uncovering her past) than Michael’s (but she may convince him to go/get used to the idea)

8. Charlie/CC won’t get that much screen time. I think the focus will be on the MCI and everything after.

9. Mike will be a grey character/antihero and will do something veryy questionable💀(and I’ll love him regardless😌)

10. I don’t have one rn (I’m sure it’ll come to me) so I’m just going to make the numbers whole :)

EDIT: Here’s how I think the roll out will go: Teaser trailer in end of May/early June ➡️ Official trailer in the summer ➡️ Stills and PR strategy from then ➡️ Reviews and premiers in early October and then release :)

A program to grant Baltimore residents city identification cards may move forward seven years after it was greenlighted.

The Baltimore City Council passed legislation in 2016 establishing a municipal identification card program. Then-Councilman Brandon Scott touted the cards as a way for residents who struggled to provide documents for obtaining federal identification, like homeless people, immigrants, and people recently released from incarceration, to gain city-specific credentials.

Discussion of the idea, which seemed to fizzle after 2016, is set for a City Council committee hearing Wednesday.

“These IDs will be available to homeless people, to immigrants and refugees, to women who are the victims of domestic abuse who can’t get their documents in order to get another ID,” now-Mayor Scott, a Democrat, told The Baltimore Sun at the time. He also said the cards would cut down on arrests for low-level offenses, because citizens would be able to provide a city ID and receive a citation instead of apprehension, and instill civic pride in city residents.

Though it passed the council and was codified into the city code, the municipal ID program was never implemented or funded. A number of cities, like San Francisco, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, have begun offering their own municipal ID cards, which allow residents to access services and cultural amenities like libraries.

Immigration advocates say city-specific identification cards allow people who’ve recently come to the United States to more easily establish residency than federal documents, which come with higher financial and language barriers. It’s also easier for transgender people to obtain documentation that is congruent with their gender identities than passports or driver’s licenses, which often require proof of name and gender marker changes.

District 14 Councilwoman Odette Ramos, who often advocates on behalf of immigrants’ rights, said she waited to give the mayor’s office “a chance to work on” the municipal ID program before introducing a resolution last year to revitalize the program, which led to the meeting this week.

“The reason I’m pushing for this is because I very much believe in it,” Ramos said. “This isn’t particularly mind-blowing or groundbreaking. It just makes sense.”

A request for proposal for the municipal IDs is in the works, according to Bryan Doherty, Scott’s director of communications.

Discussion on the resolution, which Ramos introduced in September 2022, will include its status, obstacles, and a timeline for implementation, according to the council calendar.

Ramos said she couldn’t explain the lag time or why there was no push to institute the program in the seven years since its establishment. The council passed the legislation in December 2016, at the tail end of former Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s administration, and was not considered during either Catherine Pugh’s or Bernard C. “Jack” Young’s tenures.

“That’s one of the questions I have for [the mayor] when we meet,” Ramos said.

The resolution will be discussed by the City Council’s Health, Environment, and Technology Committee on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Officials from the city solicitor’s office, the finance department, the Office of Equity and Civil Rights, and mayor’s offices of Information Technology and Immigrant Affairs are expected to attend.

Sorry anon, you’re incorrect here. They’re not exactly the same. Seb did follow her gay bff and one other friend while she followed his bff. She posted the roses for Valentine’s Day, but she made sure we knew who they were from. She also had the SM to do it with.

The videos were for their respective birthdays, but they were still made and released. The only difference is Evans learned from Seb and made it a story that will disappear. Seb does not have that luxury.

The only difference is in now they presented the time. They started crumbing on 7/4/2020 with Seb and Ale on the yacht, but it didn’t show him clearly, only a distance shot of her and Seb on the water. They continued with the crumbing in much the same way Justin did. Her bff posted and deleted stories, she would drop posts about being in New York or LA at the same time Seb would drop posts showing he was there also. The shadow on the ground was the IG official for them and we saw how the rest went with the pap walks and videos. Even Seb’s best friend posted stories about Seb and Ale. They rode this out from 7/4/20-12/19/2021, basically 18 months.

Evans rolled out with the over a year timeline, but that is the only difference. Scott unfollowed Justin, Tara and Steve were the only ones to interact with her before the IG disappeared, and minus Carly who never interacts with her, his mother and other sister do not follow.

To be Frank, Ale got the better deal out of this because Seb did post and interact with her while Baptista only gets two disappearing stories and lots of shame 😂

Roadmap for the Future

All right, now the finale is up, and Dancing with Myself is finished, I want to give everyone a heads-up about the plan for all of my upcoming writing projects.

Starting Monday, I will resume working on Paper Men. That will be my main priority moving forward. First, I'm going to be doing a massive re-read to refamiliarize myself with all the characters and teeny tiny plot points that I might've forgotten. I'm also going to clean up the formatting and fix any grammatical errors that I find because I found tons when I was just glancing through it the other day, and it's going to bother me until I fix it. That should take a few days, and then I will start on the new chapter. My goal is to have that up by the end of January or early February.

Once Paper Men is updated, I will be ping-ponging back and forth between that story and the DWM shorts. The latter will be released sporadically until I run out of ideas. Some of them will be super short, some will be long; some will be set in past, some will be set in the future; some will be set in the canon timeline or even an alternate timeline. For convenience, they're all going to be compiled into a giant master list so that it's super easy to find them all.

I know I posted this before, but here's a list of all the DWM fic concepts I have planned so far. Please note, some of these ideas might not make it to the page. They may get incorporated into other fics or disregarded entirely.

Baltimore bridge collapse as sign of US infrastructure decline

The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore vividly illustrates the crisis of the US transport system.

The system has not been substantially modernised since the days of President Eisenhower, although the Biden administration has embarked on a fiscal stimulus programme, the Financial Times reports.

Officials do not yet have a timeline for reopening the canal or rebuilding the bridge, CNN reports.

Ten days after the bridge collapse, the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced in a press release a “schedule to restore safe navigation to and from the Port of Baltimore.”

Captain John Conrad, CEO of the maritime portal gCaptain, posted a scathing message at X dissecting what’s behind the words:

“The truth is that the Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for bridging, but they are so unprepared that they have handed over leadership of the rescue operation to the Navy."

He added: “The Navy’s rescue effort is so neglected that they have had to outsource it to a US subsidiary/partner of a European firm that charters equipment from private companies for big bucks.”

Conrad also said that China would have achieved “a complete cleanup of the Baltimore Ship Channel in weeks,” not months.

As we can see, the US is in dire need of highly qualified engineers, as domestic specialists are unlikely to be able to repair a collapsed bridge promptly.
