Orpheus in the mechanisms canon is such a great character, especially in Orpheus & Narcissus Go on a Trip to the Seaside because he’s watching his best friend Narcissus struggle to cope with his superstitious idiosyncrasies and his borderline obsession with that mirror & Orpheus thinks to himself “damn hes Mentally Ill™️, theyr gonna put him in the asylum fr 😔” as if he, Orpheus, isn’t having potentially prophetic dreams, isn’t actively stockpiling brain-melting acid in his room, and wasn’t just caught trying to rebreak his own toe with a book like… ok king of 0 self-reflection!! absolute legend, please continue!!!

I need some more highly intuitive Soap. This man has so much shit going through his head constantly, but I can guarantee half of it is just his mind breaking down how things are made, what he could use from certain substances to make totally new products (that may or may not combust).
We, as a fandom, have established that as much as we make fun of Soap’s little quirky characterisations, that at the character’s heart, he is incredibly smart. Chemistry, technology, engineering, math… this man is a himbo in STEM. He might not be able to tell you what he ate for breakfast, but you know damn well that if a recruit asked him how soap works as a stupid joke, this guy would go on a whole rant about saponification and how fricken cool it is. The blank stares from the recruits don’t ever concern him.
He’s got all kinds of things flying through his little noggin. You know how when you or someone you know buys a new car, and suddenly you see that car everywhere around you? Soap experiences the same thing, except it’s just chemical and mathematical theories. He can’t just exist in the world, his mind is in constant hyperdrive to perceive.
That’s why he’s so good at his job (and pool). His constant heightened sense of awareness allows him to soak up information like a sponge when he finally manages to turn the constant perception off, like out field. Instead of the molecular structure of different plastics, or the force needed to crush a can theoretically, he is able to manage and monitor multiple things at once; his position, his team’s position, the enemy, the direction of bullets, and sometimes even how many seconds it takes for the cease of gunfire from one weapon on the opposite side of the grounds to start up again, notifying a reload.
Ghost made the mistake of opening one of Soap’s chemistry textbooks, once. Once. Soap found him practically tweaking, just staring at the hexagons and lines and graphs and abbreviations, all making his head throb. Soap simply sighed with a smile, plucking the book from skeleton gloves and placing it down, leading the Lieutenant away.
“Don’t hurt yerself, Lt.”
“Careful, Sergeant.”
“You’re tellin’ me, yer eye’s twitchin’ like you’ve been rummagin’ through the contraband stores.”
Extra Ghoap Bonus!
Sometimes, Soap gets so overwhelmingly exhausted from not being able to turn his mind off. (Un)Surprisingly, science is everywhere, and he can’t help but think about it. When he feels a migraine coming on, neck and jaw straining after trying to rein in his overactive brain, he goes straight to Ghost.
Something about Ghost’s dry humour and blunt conversation helps ground him; he doesn’t have to worry about subtext, or necessarily work-related chat. Just silly (read: flirty) banter and bad, clear-cut jokes. Ghost allows his mind to focus on one thing while he occupies his hands. A journal, playful taps on Ghost, a Rubix Cube, fiddling.
Eventually, he manages to calm his thoughts enough to doze off, lying haphazardly across couches, a mattress, on the bench seats of the cargo planes, or even on the floor. Many soldiers could attest to seeing Ghost gently cradling the man’s head, moving him into a comfortable position, even once or twice carrying him to his barracks. Could, if a certain skull-faced soldier didn’t pierce them with a very clear warning glare at the memory, as if he could tell they were thinking about it.

Imagine Mizu, who's been ostracized, bullied, and hunted down her entire life due to their mixed race heritage finding out that in the 21st century, people like her are fetishized and desired for their appearance.

I am really sorry for asking this and I'll understand if u don't answer but can u give an estimate on when the next update will be?¿ I love ur writing sm and can't wait for whenever chapter 2 comes out [:
don’t apologise, dear bonnie! i appreciate the civility and the way you framed the question didn’t come off as rude so you’re good.
i’ve already begun writing but since chapter two is gonna be longer than both the prologue and chapter one combined, it will take at least a month or two. on top of that, i have my finals next month so there’s even less time for me to work on the story. the variations are gonna be crazy too and there will be various add-ons (trans options, tattoos/piercings, hair style, etc.) coming in with this update.
i can, however, promise that it’ll be updated before october and you’ll meet all the ROs by chapter 2 (plus one or two very important characters 👀). it’s gonna be pretty graphic as far as gore is concerned so i’ll also be implementing the skip and auto-skip options, in case you don’t want to sit through all of that.
i’ll also add some of those juicy and delicious POV of other characters, especially the ROs cause i’m weak asf for those in every single book istg 😭 it will be similar to the one i added for henry (rip) in chapter one and give a bit of insight into what they’re feeling and/or thinking towards the MC and the given situation.

alright so conan gray's new song is so painfully john @ gale i wasn't ready for this pain
it's so over just WAIT for the edit i'm gonna make to this shit lmfaoo. gonna have to yoink a lyric too for an angst oneshot title surely. THIS WAS THE WRONG NIGHT TO DROP THIS SONG MAN i'm distraught
also 'i swore hands were made for fighting, but you're the first person that i've seen who's proven that might be a lie' feels very fitting for the blurb i wrote earlier about john finding violence comfortable because it's familiar, and gale maybe being the first gentle man john has met/the first man to show john how to be gentle too. </3

holy. Shit.
i was rereading the last olympian cuz why tf not
and then i realized
percy held his sword against nico's throat even though he couldn't control what his dad did and had no idea what was gonna happen.
he dragged will away to heal annabeth even though anyone else could've and will was particularly focused on finding his dead brothers body, who meant a great deal to him.
percy was on the "leave-nico-for-dead" side in MOA because it could be a trap, even though he knew very well it would be anyway.
percy was about to attack leo after being possessed by an eidolon against his will, though again HE COULDN'T CONTROL IT.
percy, the main character of all these books, may not have been that great of a guy after all.
my head is literally spinning holy shit-

gimme bound for laurelle :>
I Do Not Remember the exact wording for that question but I do remember the answer, so.
Laurelle does get detained in the later, very very much later parts of the story I wanna eventually tell. An attempt is made at reading her memories to gain information about the people she's working with, who are on the run (including Aina. Yes, very much later than what you've seen so far dsfgsdf). She's protected against that, though.
The experience does not leave any visible, physical scars - but the unseen, the threads of life woven through her, become matted and frayed, stealing most of her remaining power, which is The Scariest Thing in the world the story's set in.
I have a little blurb of it in mind, with her being threatened with that form of torture if she doesn't open up her mind, and she just says "go ahead. see if you can take what's dearest to me."
