#planeswalker’s guide to tarkir dragonstorm #Sultai #tarkir dragonstorm #mtg #magic the gathering #honestly I love what they’ve done with every clan though #the mardu clash of sky and ember is epic and makes total sense in an environment full of storms and wimd #also it’s nice to see their technological abilities emphasized and how they can actually contribute to global trade #instead of just raiding everyone all the time #the abzan seem pretty similar to their pre-dtk incarnation which makes sense for a clan so focused on tradition #I’m glad they stopped kidnapping orphans though #the jeskai also seem pretty similar in terms of overall societal structure and ideals #I can’t say much about the temur. this planeswalker’s guide certainly goes into a lot more detail on their actual traditions #and survival strategies than the old ktk planeswalker’s guide which is nice #the sultai change is probably the most dramatic and the most deserved though.#I mean there’s definitely a place for ruthlessly exploitative civilizations but against the backdrop of liberation from the dragonlords #it’s nice to see the sultai becoming a much fairer and more prosperous society

some odysseus & eurylochus thoughts. I love their dynamic but the fandom angers me sometimes.

(making it clear, I'm talking about some haters, not all, some of you actually make good points)

edit: it's 2am and i've had more thoughts so i word-vomited them all out in the tags

#epic the musical #epic eurylochus #epic odysseus #I love their dynamic #they are foils and mirrors and just men #they've been away from home for 13 years man #if you think about it #polites is the one starts the open arms ideology which is the opposite of eury's “let's raid the place” attitude #the open arms ideology is then used by odysseus to...spare the cyclops? apparently?#at the same time he gets abandoned by his patron goddess #who is powerful asf and could've help guide them home #with athena gone and the polyphemus alive #eurylochus in luck runs out is completely understandable #which slowly makes him distrust ody more and more #until he can't trust that there isn't any treasure in the wind bag #not dismissing eury's actions here #but it truly shows that he is a representation of mortals in a godly world #hunger and worry and distrust are all human things #the crew being eurylochus's instrument supports how they all just humans #how in the face of the gods #they can disappear with raging deadly waves or a purposeful strike of thunder #in conclusion #ody being the smartest guy in the trojan war is like being the tallest dwarf #pls get this reference #amemberlea posts #this might not be coherent #ody & eury remind me of hamilton & burr #which is prob why i like them

Thoughts on the new DMC trailer?

Going to be honest I haven't watched any trailers since the trailer at the Game Awards (or whichever one I have those 2 breakdown posts for) 😅 I keep seeing the trailer announcements when I don't have my headphones on me, and I've been behind on watching them once I have the time... maybe tomorrow I'll finally get to watching them! Tonight I'm dead tired so I don't think I'd be in much of a good mood and I don't want to start off on the wrong foot, so to speak. When I watch them I can make a write up on it though! Would probably be fun.

#work is exploding and also i'm trying to read more and study latin #and i'm also doing ultimate raising in ffxiv and have been making guides for my static bc most of them haven't cleared yet #raiding not raising*#then yesterday i had a game (sports) so i really just had no time for anything....#i've been trying to get through my backlog of ao3 comments too #so with all that taken into account....i have barely had any time for absorbing new fandom material or contributing #i haven't written any fic in a week or two #actually. have i written anything since the dmc3 anniversary nearly a month ago...?#i think i opened a fic once but i doubt i added much #most of my time in my docs has been devoted to analyzing moby dick #...which i'm doing for fun #but yeah. so many obligations. i've been pulling unofficial overtime for work. and i'm kind of over my head right now #so i haven't had nearly as much time for dmc stuff as i would like...#i spent part of my drive home today thinking about something i'd like to do with one of my wips #(when i wasn't panicking about that one person who tried to ram into me for about 10-12 minutes in bumper to bumper-#-traffic in the rain. that was 'fun'. and by fun i mean terrifying. i got the heat inducing anxiety and if that person didn't let off-#-soon i was genuinely considering calling 911 because it was. bad. they nearly hit me so many times and kept honking....#even though there was nowhere to go..mand almost rammed me into the barrier on the bridge...#today has been a very long day. it's 9:14pm and everything i've done today has been work or raid besides like 20min of tumblr)#okay enough rambling for now i've gotta get ready for bed #i didn't even get home from my basketball game until after 10 last night and i had to be awake at 5:30 and barely slept last week #so i'm running on many days of sub 7hours of sleep and i am not good at that. i get so exhausted.#so yeah!!!#ty for question i really do mean to watch it i just haven't found the time #i want to give it the proper attention when i watch it. and by it i mean them. all the trailers #erurandomness #erudmc

back in the ucob mines after like. months. i finally joined a static because nobody is doing ucob in pf these days and the progress we've made in 3 lockouts is so SO good that i might clear next week? or in two weeks at worse.

Okay about that stack markers post - no one expects a newer sprout to know much, let alone understand all the mechanics.

And generally other players tend to be pretty forgiving to first timers/newbies unless they're obviously not trying, not pressing their buttons or they're a bot.

(Plus FFXIV has A LOT of mechanics, and many of them only appear once, never to be seen again. Some of them have also been lost to time, thanks to the readjustments to dungeons/duties required for implementing duty support or streamlining the game.)

BUT they also added more tutorials to the Hall of Novice in 7.1, which cover some typical markers. And you get a pretty nifty ring for completing them, which boosts your exp gain when equipped:

Handy if you're on the free trial and don't have the FC exp buff / pre-order earrings or the Road to 90.

#when i was a sprout ppl (online) would recommend this one img guide #of all the different markers and mechanics #it was information overload tbh xD #pretty sure most sprouts' first encounter with a stacker marker is in the CT raids or the Main Scenario roulette duties #maybe this post is unnecessary idk #anyway sqex should readjust/modernise the CT raids #make it so you CAN'T stack 3 alliances' worth of stack markers together. unless you want to wipe #lyna rambles #lyna plays ffxiv #final fantasy xiv

Okay yes please on the Minthara’s servant in the underdark AU! Ramble your thoughts about it too me.

Okay SO SO!

Scenario A : we are also a drow

Not a member of her house but one who was given from another house. We are here to serve her and make sure all her needs are met, or maybe we were assigned as a house mage or a servant for another family memeber.

What matters is, she finds herself getting attached to us. And she knows how dangerous that is in drow culture, how much this weakness could be used against her.

She tries to forget us, to ignore us, or to even have us transferred to another house. She is in deep denial over her feelings

I'm imagining this as a slow burn princess/servant fanfic where Minthara goes through the 5 stages of grief. It's starts with her wanting to get rid of us or ignore us but ends with her defending us from someone. She fully embraces her feelings and doesn't want anything bad to happenen to us.

Scenario B : we are from the surface

Which probably means we got taken as a hostage or a slave, if we ever gain our freedom back it means we will have to earn it by blood.

Maybe she is the one who captures us. If you're an elf then you'll get the enemies to friends to lovers trope but expect a lot and I mean a lot of hatred from her at the start. It will be painful and filled with heartbreak and betrayal.

If you're any other race, she will be more respectful and tolerant of you. You're still below her but your mistakes will be forgiven more because you have the excuse of being ignorant and she'd be lying if she said she didn't find it endearing. You'll be more like a pet to her than a slave, she will be more protective and possessive of you. You'll both teach each other something as you try to overcome the huge cultural differences

Scenario C : we're a free person.

Could be a drow, could be a surface race. Doesn't really matter because you have fully earned your freedom and all of Menzoberranzan knows that. You still have to treat her with respect as a noble drow princess but nothing more.

Maybe you're a merchant or maybe you fun a coffee shop in the undercity. Whatever it is, you do this one thing that you find fulfilling and move on with your life.

The two of you meet by accident, or she finds your shop one day. Weirdly she feels relaxed there and starts frequenting it more and more. At least it's good for business to have a drow princess in your humble store.

Even if half the people who come there to see her are trying to murder her, you do put them in line because you'll have no drinks getting posioned while you're on the clock. Minthara notices and is moved. A romance slowly flourishes.

#i may or may have not daydreamed about this a lot a lot #there is Scenario D where you're a sex-worker and the two of you have this forbidden romance #there is scenario E where you meet her while she is on her first ever surface raid and you were the hired guide for her drow wagon #you see her sneer at the sun and other cute moments #Scenario F where you're a hot drow princess too and the two of you are rivals but your rivaly is just an act and you're in love #scenario G where you're a court musician or jester and fall in love with her #♡Minthara #♡fluff #♡MajestyMinthara

MY SERVER FRIENDS AND I RECENTLY VANQUISHED ATHEON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was my first time trying to raid at all throughout my time playing Destiny 2!

We did most of Vault of Glass yesterday but got stomped by the final fight with Atheon, which we then had to decide to call it a day because we've been playing for a while.

Then we got back a few hours earlier and went through it for 2 hours and a quarter.

I AM STILL LIVING AND MEMORIALIZING THAT HIGH OF WINNING WITH FRIENDS! THAT HIGH OF GUESSING THE ORACLES WHEN MY FRIENDS WERE PREOCCUPIED WITH THE HARPIES AND SUPPLICANTS! THAT HIGH OF FINALLY DEFEATING ATHEON WITH THEM!

Very fucking happy <3
