Random Levi thought #14
He hangs every single drawing and letter his kids make. Levi keeps them all on the wall in the kitchen, anytime he is feeling down or sad, he looks at that wall to remember how far he has come, how much he is loved, how you gave him his children, and a reason to move on. Eventually when his hair is gray and he is older. He would look at that same wall again, this time hanging up a drawing his grandchildren did for him.

I think about this dialogue from S1 all the time; to me, it succinctly sums up the differences between Erwin and Levi’s perspectives and motivations.
When it comes to Erwin, it’s much like what Armin said in S1: the people who are capable of making change have to be able to throw everything away and abandon their personal humanity in order to save the greater humanity. Erwin embodies this perfectly—he never hesitated to sacrifice the lives of others on behalf of a greater cause, and even knew how to inspire them into willingly self-sacrificing.
What was that greater cause? For Erwin, it was his dream of finding out the truth and avenging his father—it just so happened that this aligned with what was best for Paradis. If it weren’t for his own personal ambitions, I don’t believe Erwin would have had the same level of commitment or drive.
Erwin knew that all of the deaths of his soldiers and the civilians caught in the crossfire were potentially pointless (and we eventually see that catch up to him right before his death); but at the same time, he knew each death and sacrifice was a necessary step in uncovering the truth.
That’s not to say he saw no value in human life or that he was an evil person—it’s just that he saw more value in the bigger picture and the greater cause, and he didn’t have time to consider his personal humanity in that pursuit. Erwin knew that he needed people like Levi and Hange to stay alive in order to achieve this bigger picture goal since they filled in the gaps of skills he lacked himself.
This also isn’t to say Erwin is purely selfish, nor is he the only one with personal motivations—Eren was motivated by his mother’s death, Mikasa was motivated by protecting Eren, Hange was motivated by learning about Titans. The list goes on.
Levi is uniquely one of the few characters without selfish motivations and dreams (which is ironic since people view him as cold and heartless). Levi had no ulterior motives pushing him to the other side of the war, and nothing personal to gain.
He chose to follow Erwin because of that look Erwin had in his eye—the same look Armin had in his eye—hope for the future, like he could see something no one else could. Levi, simply, didn’t want to make choices he would regret, even though he openly admitted that he never truly knew or understood what the outcome of those choices would be. He believed that following Erwin’s command—and eventually choosing Armin—was the best way to do this.
Levi doesn’t view the lives of his comrades or squad members as disposable. He has a fiercely protective and loyal nature. We see this time and time again—when he adamantly tells a dying soldier that his death wasn’t in vain and that he’d made a difference, how he doesn’t ever truly forgive Annie and Reiner for the lives they took from the Scouts, and his incessant need to avenge Erwin’s death, to name a few.
To me, Erwin and Levi are somewhat of a yin and yang in this way—Erwin was willing to do everything it took to achieve his dream, no matter the sacrifice, and Levi was willing to do everything it took to make sure those sacrifices weren’t made for nothing.
Erwin had to be willing to send people to their pointless deaths; Levi had to make sure those deaths weren’t pointless in the end.
This is a little bit of a half-baked ramble, but I always found this exchange so interesting and telling.

Levi: "I don't understand why you like someone as pathetic as me, I'm not that good at anything other then being a nasty useless otaku, (insert more self degrading here)."
Mc: *blank faced, moving sneakily close to Levi and picks him up bridal style*
Mc: "Snake <3."
Levi: *Stunned silent, he doesn't move for a few moments, then his tail curls around Mc's leg, and leans into their touch.*
Levi: "Y-yeah...."

While Postwar! Levi is excited about many things, he loves being able to just take you into the master bedroom and fucking you.
During the scouting days he would have to wait, he would have to make sure both of you were in good health, make sure both of you were free on your schedules, and all of that shit.
But now you could be randomly sitting on the bed and Levi could just start fucking you.
God, he loved retirement.

Handing your drink to Levi to watch over it while you're gone and bro isn't even trying, he's literally just holding it the way he holds all his cups, fingers gripping the rim of it, in the most exposed way. Because he knows, he knows, who tf would have the balls to spike your drink when it's Levi fucking Ackerman holding it.

You and Levi are a one car family. On nice days he walks to work, or if you're available you drive him. Later, he likes to walk home because on the way he passes a flower shop where he stops in for a bouquet of your favorite flowers or those that are in season. It never fails to make your heart skip a beat when your husband walks in from his day with a smile saved just for you and gives you barely enough time to gush over the flowers before cuddling you close and kissing you, asking what that delicious smell is. You stroke his cheek as he holds you and the oven timer goes off, his favorite meal ready. You set the table with the flowers in the center and his eyes light up when he realizes you've made dessert as well. Later he'll help you clean up, making sure you don't do all of it by yourself. It's quiet evenings together like this that you both cherish most of all.

LOOK, I see it. I get it. Levi definitely has that “rough, naughty, ‘you like that, don’t you?’” kind of sex aura to him. And no complaints here, I’m a complete sucker for that trope. I liveee for it. Like keep it coming!
But I’ve always felt Levi’s character to be more…vanilla, for a lack of better term, than hardcore when it comes to sexual intimacy. Not in the bland way though. Perhaps vanilla with some sprinkles or syrup on the top.
In my opinion, underneath his tough, stern demeanor is someone much softer, much more passionate and gentle in the way he makes love. That he’s the kind to really focus on foreplay, because he really wants you to be aroused and fully pleasured. The kind to never break eye contact only unless his face is to your neck as he moves in you. The kind to whisper “I love you” in your ear when you both are close, and it’s the sound of his voice when he says it that brings you to your climax. The kind to kiss your forehead when it’s over and bring you closely into his arms, burying his face in your hair to inhale your scent that is so distinctively you that it reminds him of home. His love language is definitely touch, and he loves when you stroke his hair and face as much as you do.
maybe I’m just describing my fantasy lolol
Don’t get me wrong though. Both dominant Levi and gentle Levi could like…get it. Truly. Just say the word sir and I’m yours any way you’d like. ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ

Random Levi thought #13
It took him a long time to realize that he was in love with you. He fell for you deeply the first time he saw you. It was just that he had never been in love, he couldn't recognize what made you so different than others and why he made a difference between you and everyone else. One day when you're out on a horse ride with him, Levi catches himself looking at you. You keep talking, unaware of his loving gaze. That was when it hit him, it was like the grass was greener, the air felt cleaner, the skies were brighter, all because you were beside him.

i just saw an edit of Levi in season 3, and during his fight with Kenny, i noticed they ended up wrecking a lot of civilian property, especially that bar where they’d had a bit of friendly uncle-nephew conversation.
what’s more, i know that if the military doesn’t step in to compensate the people who lost their property, Levi would quietly cover the damages out of his own pocket

One of the things I find interesting about Levi is the fact that he just. doesn’t change his opinions on people, unless told by others to, because he just- doesn’t have opinions on them. And okay yeah this was kind of an obvious thing he did literally say he didn’t care about people but still-
This is seen mostly with David where Levi still considered him ‘a good person’ even after his whole “I’m a lying, manipulative, scumbaggy piece of shit,” moment, because before that, everyone else considered David to be a good person-
And since Levi doesn’t exactly understand things like having an opinion on someone, and just based his off the people around him, he just- continues to consider David to be one. And I just find that interesting :>
(Wait, does Levi even really understand why David is now considered a bad person? Maybe on a theoretical moral standpoint he would- Because he does know what society considers ‘right’ or ‘wrong,’ or at least he knows some of it, even if his own moral compass is- kind of nonexistent- But besides that- I don’t know if he’d understand how people’s opinions of someone can change so quickly just from one conversation, or even just one sentence-)
