I recently found your blog and I must say I LOVE YOUR WORK!! It’s so amazing!! /gen!! I was wondering if you could do some Donnie x transmasc reader headcanons please?? No pressure, but if you do ty!!
Relationship status: It can be read as romantic or platonic
TW: Some grammatical errors because english is not my first language.
Author's note: THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was afraid that my writing style and language barrier were taking away good aspects from my work, so I'm glad that you like it!
!!Before reading, I'd like to clarify that I am not a transmasculine person myself, and I am not deeply knowledgeable about this part of the LGBT+ community. My knowledge is based on many articles I found and people I know from internet. So, if I have written something incorrectly or inaccurately, please feel free to correct me in the comments!!
Tumblr media
◇Support and Understanding: I think, besides April, Donnie might be your biggest supporter.
◇However, in the beginning, he might have been… a bit startled.
◇Absolutely not in a bad way! It's just that he wasn't quite prepared for such an act of trust towards him. He even considered himself too eccentric (lmao) for something like this.
◇Despite a somewhat insensitive initial response, as soon as you left, he started researching extensively about being a transmasculine person.
◇Of course, Donnie was aware of what trans topic means and some groups under that, but he really wanted to make an effort and not mess up anything, coming off as a total idiot. (I love the headcanon that he's bisexual and non-binary <3).
◇Expect a full PowerPoint presentation on the big screen in their living room the next day. (Please praise him even if you know everything, he gave up his evil plans to take over the world, or at least improve Microsoft, just for you. Plus, he's not very good at understanding your feelings towards you, like your concerns about your body, etc., so you'll have to literally tell him and what he could do).
◇Don has no problem with your pronouns, whether they are more feminine, masculine, or non-personal. However you want to be called, he will respect it, BA! He will even correct anyone who gets it wrong. Leo: "You know, (incorrect pronoun) did something amazing!" BOING! Donnie: "SCOFF! As usual, my idiotic brother, [Y.N] uses [Correct Pronouns]. Say it again, and you'll become my next guinea pig in my lab." Leo: "D:"
◇Donatello is not good with words of support, so his main strength is giving you his more masculine, unused clothes. And you have to admit, he has perfect style! (But never, ever touch his purple hoodie, he'll cut your hands off/j).
◇He also with April helped pick out the right binder for you. However, if somehow each one caused too much discomfort, he personally took it upon himself to make one for you.
◇Giving gifts is one of his strong suits in platonic or romantic relationships.
◇Therefore, thanks to Raph's help (my next personal headcanon is that Raphie is talented in sewing clothes), he managed to achieve this goal.
◇When it comes to testosterone injections, Donatello will gladly take care of it!
◇His laboratory is spotless; not even hospitals can compete with such a gleaming environment.
◇However, if you feel more comfortable doing it at home, Donnie will initially be as stubborn as a mule, but then he'll go along with your choice.
◇But for each visit, he will disinfect everything, and when I say everything, I mean everything. Your health is the most important thing for him :D
◇I have a feeling he might joke about transmasculine things with you a bit, but in the way friends usually do. He absolutely wouldn't want to offend you, so before saying anything, he'll ask you or check on public forums if it's okay.
◇It's his duty to accompany you to pride parades. HE WANTS TO SUPPORT YOU AS MUCH AS HE CAN! (Even though he's not a fan of such large crowds.) "Hey, [Y.N]…" his voice was currently unnaturally quiet, causing you to look at him immediately from your phone. "Hm? What's wrong, D?" "I'm proud of you."
◇Donatello would like someone to say that they're proud of him, so he thought it would be worth mentioning to you as well.
◇However, he didn't expect that despite many people around, you would start crying and hug him.
◇Of course, he returned the hug.

Tmntober Day: 29
Prompt: That Is Not A Person
Gen: Rise, takes place at the beginning of the bad future, or what would have happened if Casey Jr hadn't been sent back in the movie
TW: Body Horror, Loss of Limb
Leo had compromised their attempt to stop that worm guy and Hypno from stealing the strange wooden artifact, and Raph had been pissed. Leo was too. Why wouldn’t Raph just take the leadership back if he was so bad at it?! It was the easier solution! He didn’t understand why Raph didn’t see that. So he had maybe gone and pushed a few of Raph’s buttons.
Ok, a lot of Raph’s buttons...
But really, what did it matter that a tiny wooden statue got stolen? Leo was sure the owner would get a nice insurance payment regardless, and maybe The Foot just wanted some more decor for their evil hideout! And with luck, this would be the final straw that would set things back to their rightful place with Raph as the leader and him comfortably as the faceman!
But that didn’t happen. Instead, Raph and him started to fight, despite their brothers’ attempts to stop them. Leo hadn’t wanted to push Raph this far, but he couldn’t back down now without admitting the real reason for his actions. So when Dad finally got involved to break them up, Leo was secretly grateful. They had left to slink off to their separate rooms, and Donnie and Mikey left to go Mikey’s room for a bit, Donnie leading the way, pushing gently on his shell while Mikey stared after them.
Mikey and his twin had grown much closer over the two months since Leo had become leader, and he was pretty confident as to why. Leo knew that his attempts to get rid of the mantle of leader were causing him and Raph to fight much more and also more aggressively than they had in the past, but he couldn’t make himself fully take the blame. (Even though he should,) but he half-blamed Raph for it. If he would just accept that Leo couldn’t do it, if he would just stop being stubborn, this could stop. Deep down though, Leo knew he was tearing his family apart. He and Raph weren’t close anymore, and Mikey hated to hear them fighting. Donnie was the only one there for Mikey, and as a result, Leo could feel his twin’s respect for him lessening. Donnie couldn’t back up Leo in his attempts to stop leading, he had to be there for his little brother as their family was in turmoil. For the first time, his younger twin really had to be an older brother for Mikey, and it was all Leo’s fault.
And so now, here sat Leo in his room with the new hole in the wall, trying to patch it up with a blanket as he fought to tamp down his feelings of guilt and self-loathing. He reminds himself that this could all be fixed, everything would be ok, if only Raph would take back the leadership. Once that happened, he could fix everything.
About an hour later, Leo, who was lying on his bed and pretending to be focusing on a Jupiter Jim comic, hears footsteps from outside his room through the -less than soundproof- blanket-covered hole in his wall. He could tell, just like he could identify all his family’s footsteps, that it was Donnie and Mikey, probably headed to the kitchen. (Mikey liked to bake during times of stress, and Donnie was never opposed to eating it.) They were talking quietly, but then, from some tech of Donnie’s, comes a chime. The footsteps pause as Donnie checks on it.
“Huh, news articles are reporting on a strange light blasted into the sky from an island off of New York. That’s… concerning.”
Mikey hesitantly volunteers:
“Should we get Raph and Leo? Just to check it out?” He doesn't sound too eager, though.
“... I- I don’t know. I think they should be apart for right now.” Donnie takes a deep breath. “I’ll tell you what, I’ll turn on notifications for any related news stories, and if anything else comes out, we’ll get them. But I don’t really want to deal with them both fighting the whole time, especially if it turns out to just be some teenagers with fireworks or something.”
“Yeah…” Mikey agrees. “That makes sense. Plus, I just don’t really want to be around them right now. I can’t take all this fighting anymore, Donnie.” His voice is shaky.
“I know, Mikey.” Donnie responds softly. “Let’s go to the kitchen. Baking always makes you feel better.” and the footsteps continue, until they’re gone.
Leo doesn't sleep that night. Usually he values his sleep schedule, or at least tries, using a sleep mask and soft, patterned pajamas, but tonight, he just sits there. What had he done to their family?
He must have fallen asleep at some point, because he wakes up to frantic pounding on his door.
“Leo!”
“Leo, get up! It’s an emergency!”
“Oh, why are we-”
Leo winces as the blanket covering the hole in the wall is torn away, flashing blinding light into his eyes, only half-covered by his crooked sleep mask.
“What? What is it? I’m up!” He gasps, tearing the mask and the pajamas off and hurriedly reaching for his katanas.
Through the hole in the wall, he sees his brothers. Mikey looks tearful, Raph’s expression is tight with emotion, and Donnie’s too busy looking stricken at what looks like a news feed, projected on his arm. Raph picks him up by the back of the shell and hustles them all to the living room.
“What’s going on, guys? What’s happened?” Leo asks, his heart sinking lower by the second at the expressions on their faces.
His questions die on his throat as he catches sight of the news feed projected on the living room wall where Splinter sits, watching horrified. On the screen, Metro Tower, the tallest building in the city, is overrun by some sort of pink, disgusting slime. It covers the windows and doors, all the exits covered. Leo knows how many humans work in that building, and the thought of them all trapped inside by an unknown substance is very alarming. A News Lady speaks on screen, explaining that the police are unable to communicate with or reach anyone inside the building. Then, the feed cuts to a feed on a news helicopter, recording a police helicopter, with guns aimed at two small shapes on the roof of the tower. The camera zooms in, and the newsperson as well as Leo and his family all gasp in unison. Two non-human, fairly tall creatures stand on tentacles, their sharp teeth bared at the police helicopter. They don’t look like mutants. They don’t resemble any animal Leo’s ever seen.
“What-” He gasps, his voice faint.
On the feed, the smaller creature turns its back to the camera, pressing two tentacles to the ground. Out sprouts more of the slimy pink substance, identical to the stuff that was covering all the exits on the ground floor of Metro Tower, while its larger counterpart leaps at the police helicopter, the gunshots not phasing it in the slightest. In seconds, before Leo can even process what he’s seeing, the police helicopter is falling to the ground.
The creature leaps from the police helicopter, to the news one, causing the filmer to scream, begging to live, as alien teeth and tentacles take up the screen, before the news station cuts to static, the sudden quiet overwhelming the room.
Nobody dares to speak, everyone looking at each other in horror.
Raph is the first to break the silence.
“Leo. Portal. Now.”
“I- ok.” He gasps out, his voice shaken.
One swipe with his swords later, his brothers and father are following after him, to the base of Metro Tower.
No sooner do they arrive, however, than a blast of energy bursts from the top of the tower, almost knocking them all over. The streetlights and signs around them flicker for a second, then all the power in the city goes off at the same time, plunging the street around them into shadow.
A portal opens above them, and a huge, tentacled shape emerges, throwing its shadow over everything, and sucking debris into the heavens. People around them are running, screaming and crying, not even sparing them a second glance. Cars fly upwards, with people still inside, and people cower on the street.
The city around them is in flames.
Then, the pink goo covering Metro Tower cracks open, and a flood of figures stumble out, their bodies in shadow.
They separate, dispersing around the city, but one figure walks slowly towards Leo and his family.
They all stand there, completely out of their depth, watching the person slowly approach them from the shadows.
“Hello?” Leo asks cautiously. “Do you need help? Do you know what’s happened here?”
The person picks their head up and their pace quickens slightly, until they’re running towards his family, but mainly, towards Leo, who was standing in front. He still can’t make out any of their features from the shadows.
They take another step and they emerge from the darkness finally, the person’s face illuminated by what little light there was offered from the suddenly pink sky.
Pink goo covers their skin, sprouting out of it and covering their hands in slimy-looking tentacles. Green eyes burst from the pink, blinking out of sync with each other. They open their mouth, displaying rows of inhuman, jagged and pointed teeth. Their tongue is longer than it should be, and pointed. Saliva pours out of their gaping mouth. They let out an animalistic screech and charge at Leo.
That is not a person. Is all Leo’s horrified mind can begin to process.
They leap at Leo, who is completely unprepared for it, and they bite deep into his arm with their razor teeth, creating such a horrible crunching sound, so vivid and disgusting, that Leo knows he’ll never be able to stop it from replaying inside his head.
He screams, suddenly in so much pain that he can’t think straight. Blood is everywhere, covering him and the street. The world around him blurs, even as his family reacts with horror, quickly leaping into defensive positions to protect him.
His breathing comes in ragged gasps.
Weakly, he reaches for the spot where his injured arm should be.
But it’s gone.
All he feels is blood and torn flesh, coating the fingers on his good- and now only arm.
The invasion has begun.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ ( for all Raph's if you want, but mostly 2k3 cause give Trax the dirt uwu )
| For every "♡" I get I'll give a tip on how to win my muse's heart.
Ain't gonna lie I decided to go for 2003 Raph so Trax may have the dirt on the boy uwu. But boy oh boy Trax have you picked quite a stubborn one to fall in love with. Not that Raph's difficult to love per say but he is difficult to crack open Raph's fine with the physical stuff like kisses and what not that's easy but the emotional intimacy? That's where you will run into snags uwu
Tumblr media
♡ "hmm I like someone I can spare with I guess?" First things first, Raphael? He loves to fight that isn't a secret he has fun in a good fight. He may not be discipline like Leo is but he still practices and such to stay in top condition but punching bags and such are not always gonna cut it. He needs a partner that will spar with him. Someone who can handle a good spar of course, sometimes Raph likes to fight dirty of course. But if you can handle a tussle with him? you might just learn that once tried out Raphael can become pretty affectionate. Lie together well you both out breath and seeking kisses because it was just for fun, he may also get worked up in other ways so don't be shocked if he gets handsy soon after.
"...I kind of like that trax is bigger 'han me.." Make him feel safe, not as in protect him from threats. No that would piss him off. Make him feel safe enough to drop his guard. Raphael truly acts like an animal and lowering his guard is like asking for death. He's not the best at showing he needs comfort and a safe space more so when he needs it most. If anything that when his behaviors can be worse and shows he might need that more. Sometimes even a big tough guy just wants to be held and given a shelter.
"He called me love once and, I 'hink it shut my brain off?" Pet names or terms of endearment uwu Raph isn't one to use much himself usually when he dose it's kind of for teasing. But use them on him? Oh it makes him melt uwu he really loves hearing that he is seen as loved and special. Call him love or anything else and you'll get his attention. Raph might blush and act like he hates it but you making him melt inside and he wants you to do it more but hes too scared to ask.
"for a harden warrior Trax is kinda soft wit' me."
Caress his face, gently take hold of him, hold him, and what not Raphael very much is someone who loves and craves physical affection and he's a tad touch starved to be honest as well. Raphael response the best to it. If he's being well Raph just gently touch him and you'll find him moving into towards you uwu Hes a little straved okay he will soak in any sign of affection his way
"Trax kind of a serious guy I wouldn' think he go for my style of planing. On the spot and in the heat of the moment to get 'hings done." Have his back. Not that you must always agree with him even Raph can admit when he may be in the wrong. But Raph truly will appreciate someone he can count on. Have his back in a fight go along with his plans even if they are stupid? Raph just likes someone on his wave length uwu
"I ain't one for lairs, deal wit' enough dicks like Bishop and Stockman, if I can' trust someone I - well ya know. Than whats the point? Gotta be loyal."
Be honest, Raphael respects honesty above all else. Hard truths or not tell him how it is and don't shy from it even. That means your feelings even. If they happen to be your romantic feelings though? even better for Raphael. He's not the best with words you don't need to either. Just tell Raph how you feel thats all he needs. You love him? You think hes great? He'll be eating that up. Tell him your inner thoughts show him you trust him just as much. Trust is very important to him in the end ;3;
"I ain't all that great with sayin' how i'm feelin' but when I try? Dunno least nice to be heard i guess."
Be available, Raph's not the best with his emotions he struggles with them. Why he tends to always fall back on his anger after all but sometimes when he is feeling emotional vulnerable? He would like to know you have the time for him. He might not talk but if you are there? well he will appreciate it.
"I guess understand what's important to me? Trax didn' have ta help me with findin' Splinter or helpin' us save Donnie but he did. He got involved in our mess when he had his own and well...that means something to me."
Understand the value friends and family. Especially for Raphael his heart is one of four. To love Raph is to understand his brothers are kind of part of that deal. His father and any other family they have. If Raph was to lose any of his brothers he would never fully recover from that loss. So if you are there for his family as well? Ya you will skyrocket on his good side.

Could u also do the four with an S/O that can read them like a book, and just out of no where knows what’s going on and gives random (good) advice? Thank you so much!!
Agh, anon, your requests are a breath of fresh air—feel like I'm going back to my roots with these classic headcanon-type posts 😭💜 I figured this would be a good post to go into some of the problems the boys might have, if you don't mind!
The Boys with an S/O who can read them like a book:
Donatello
• His latest projects, practical and obscure, have not been going well as of late
• He's in a slum and can't seem to get out of it, trying incessantly to fix the various issues to no avail
• It's not often he gets like this but it's here and he's irritable—unable to peel himself away from his projects even late, late into the night when he should be in bed
• You find him up way past the hour in his lab, having heard him tapping his instruments, shuffling around the space, he's not making an effort to be subtle but generally no one approaches him in these times
• Well, except for you
• He doesn't quite notice your presence until he turns around to find you leaned on the doorway
• "You know, all this stuff isn't going to run away from you," you say diplomatically. "It's going to be here when you wake up in the morning. So why don't you go to bed, Donnie?"
• "Because I have to figure out what's wrong," he sighs. "If I don't do it now, I'll..."
• You walk over and take the empty pipette from his hand, setting it down on the counter behind you. "You have all the time in the world to tackle this stuff; you really should go to bed, Donnie. Like I said, your projects aren't going to be gone in the morning, or the next, or the one after that. You shouldn't live life with a constant sense of urgency."
• It may not be what he really wants to hear, but he can't deny that he is impatient at times and tends to prone to anxiety when things keep going wrong.
• "You...may be right. Possibly. Maybe," he says, a hint of defeat. "Okay. I'll go to bed."
• Kisses the top of your head on his way out.
• Someone to understand and give him a gentle perspective without judgement is a very welcome change
Leo
• Leo always has a looming feeling of being unprepared
• What if Mikey won't be paying attention when he needs him to? What if Raph has an explosive episode on the surface and puts their mission on the line? What if Donnie's equipment fails them at the worst moment?
• It's why he's always harking on everyone to make sure everything is in place, pushing for training, trying to avoid creating conflict. He just wants everyone to be safe, and so the micromanaging begins.
• His brothers have been more uncooperative and uncoordinated than usual
• Meditates excessively when these things are on his mind, today being no different—he enters a distant state of mind while doing mundane tasks and his usual practices that makes him feel unapproachable
• You find him doing it yet again, he's cleaning his portion of the lair and re organizing things he's already organized
• "What has you so frazzled, Leo?" you ask.
• He doesn't even respond until he's done setting his books back in order.
• "Nothing," he says. "I'm doing what I always do."
• "You sure?" "Because it seems like you're stressing right now."
• "I'm fine. This is how I relax."
• You take a seat on the edge of his bed. "So you are stressed?"
• Leo hadn't seemed to notice the words he'd used but knows he can't backtrack.
• "You can trust your brothers, you know that, right?" He sits down as well and sighs. "Even when you guys are a little...off beat, you always pull through, don't you? That's why you're so good, it's because you can improv and adapt. There have been times where you are totally not on the same page and still managed to make it out, and pretty successfully, might I add."
• He contemplates for a minute. You're right; with or without all of his excessive efforts, they always found a way.
• "Hearing it from someone else makes it easier to see, I guess. Thank you, (Y/N), I'll keep that in mind."
• The surprise advice is unexpected but appreciated, as no one can make him relax like that besides Splinter
Mikey
• He doesn't realize just how obvious he is when he's bothered
• Genuinely confused when point out his fiddling with random stuff, going back and forth to the kitchen more than normal, a little quieter than you're used to. Weirdly enough, he gets a bit lethargic when things like this crop up because he thinks so much
• Like now. He's used to being low-key criticized for his natural behavior and mindset, but a guy can only take so much, can't he?
• He doesn't want to feel like a kid and like he's incompetent, yet he feels that way at times due to how people talk to him
• He's fidgeting with some trinket on the couch when you approach him and seems unenthusiastic
• "Oh, what's up babes?"
• "You're doing the thing again," you say with a chuckle, "being told you're doing something wrong feels pretty bad, huh?"
• He's a little confused
• "What do you mean?"
• "I mean that sometimes your family doesn't understand that you function a certain way and, there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but at the same time, we have to be conscientious, don't we? Not every criticism is a personal offense, so try not to take it to heart too much, babe."
• He takes a moment to process, but you know he's got it when his eyes light up and he puts down whatever he's messing with
• "How come you like...always know what to say, angelcakes? You're so smart!"
• Will end up coming to you instead when he's got a problem if Leo or Donnie's a part of it, because they used to be his go-to, but telling it to his partner just hits different
• Your words actually stick with him and he's not too stubborn to take them in stride
Raph
• To be honest, Raph doesn't do well with being confronted while he's angry in general...
• Tends to blow steam off in his gym or practicing with his sai (or, if he's in a REALLY bad mood, knitting) though can only spend so much time doing that
• Not before you say something, at least
• Raph is a highly emotional person, not limited to anger. But this of course makes him an accident waiting to happen at times because of his intense disposition, so his attitude can be shit-starter, especially with Leonardo because he envies his position leader
• So, he's been clearly fuming and you've decided it's time to say something
• He's at his weight bench repping it out
• "Have another argument with Leo?"
• "Something like that."
• "You understand he's under a lot of pressure, right? That being team leader isn't that easy?"
• "What would you know?"
• "It's not hard to figure, Raph, you guys are being actively hunted and the responsibility's on him to keep you safe when Splinter can't be there. Yes, that's you too. Try putting yourself in his shoes and think about how that would make you feel. It's hard? Yeah. I know it's not what you want, but you have your own special place in the family, and no one can replace you. Think about how much Leo and the rest of your brothers would flounder if you weren't there. They need you where you're at, just like you three need Leo. You're their big guns, big guy."
• Of course, he doesn't want to admit that you're right, that hurts the pride
• But deep down he knows that it's true.
• "I'll tell y what, baby girl, you've got the nerve, I guess. I ain't saying you're right or anything, but..."
• He's always going to remember this, but unfortunately, he won't always heed your advice. It gets lost in the moment and it's his personal problem that he must deal with himself.

I got my first proper request and I literally accidentally deleted it. Am I stupid? Yes. Did I immediately panic? Yes. Do I remember what was on it?........ mostly.
Haha anon I hope you see this I'm so sorry but ily.
The turtles s/o who's usually very calm but just bursts into anger.
Notes: swearing :) I think it's funny
Leonardo:
He's used to a very calm s/o, you like to meditate together, he's always been good with helping you with breathing exercises.
You both like to keep arguments to a minimum, and even when fights do take place there isn't a lot of yelling
But when your mother came to visit :) that was just :) a lot of pressure :)
And she stayed in your apartment :) for a week :) everything was fine :)
Leonardo hadn't seen you for an entire week, not an overly long time, but certainly not pleasant. And he knew that you got stressed when you couldn't see him often. So as soon as you texted saying you had dropped your mother off at the airport, he immediately came round.
You were already screaming the moment you walked in the door.
"Oh she has some nerve! Some nerve! Speaking to me like that!"
"I'm guessing you're car ride went smoothly."
"She's been bugging me all week! When are you getting married? When are you have kids? I want some grand babies before I die! Ugh! She's obsessed with maintaining this perfect image all because her friend's kids are married and making babies like rabbits!"
He stayed quiet, not exactly sure how to comfort you. It wasn't like he could provide you with these things, and by the sounds of it, your mother would never approve of your huge turtle boyfriend.
"She just can't get that I'm happy! I have my own life and it's perfect the way I want it to be! I have a perfect boyfriend! You're a fucking delight! She–she's just so obsessed with her image that she'd never get that!"
"You... You think so?"
"I know so! She's too stubborn and she'll never get how fucking great you are and it just— UGH! It fries my brain."
"Even though I... I can't give you all those things... I can't legally marry you, we can't have kids."
"Even if you could give me a mansion and a diamond ring, or if all you could give me was a-a fucking walnut! I love you Leonardo, not that prim and proper white satin wedding she's made a thousand Pinterest boards for. I love you, I just wish she would get it."
Leonardo leaned down and kissed your cheek
"I love you too."
He believed in dealing with anger appropriately, but seeing you defend him with such passion made him feel so much more secure.
Raphael:
He's seen you angry before, he encouraged it. He's all about helping you with your confidence, teaching you to not be afraid to take up space and stand up for yourself.
But holy cow. You were mad that night.
He'd warned you not to take the trash out at night, wait to the morning — or better yet, he'll take it out for you when he came to visit after patrol.
But you are Raphael's girl. You are stubborn.
So you take the trash out, and some absolute creep decides that "flirting" in a dark alleyway in the key to a girl's heart.
Raphael swooped in, told the man to scram. But bold and drunk, the man spits back with a "Oh yeah? And would she want anything to do with a freak like you? What are you gonna do? Hit me? Aw, big angry turtle, you're gonna scare your girlfriend away."
It was two of his biggest insecurities. His appearance and his rage, especially in regards to scaring you away. It was a low blow, Raphael should have known to just walk away.
But he clammed up, he'd never admit when his anxiety got the best of him and you don't blame him.
"Oh go fuck yourself. If a vile man like you doesn't scare me, why the hell do you think a good man like him would?"
"A good man? He's not a fucking man! He's some freaky turtle thing, a pretty little thing like you deserves a real man."
"And are you a real man?"
"More real than your little pet."
The next thing you knew, the man was on the ground. You assumed Raphael knocked him out, but Raph's standing behind you and you're the one with your hand in a fist.
"Oh my god. Oh–Oh Raphie I knocked him out! O-Oh my god!"
"Holy shit Y/N! You probably broke his nose!" Raphael is grinning, shaking your shoulders.
"I didn't mean to hurt him."
"He deserves a broken nose at the least for messing with you! He was an asshole and he needed someone like you to set him straight!"
"I, um, well, I suppose he did! Saying such horrible things about you, I-I guess he did need someone to put him in his place."
Raphael ruffled your hair, "Thank you, my knight in shining armour."
"That make you my Prince?"
"Your Prince who was right about not taking the trash out at night."
"You've got to be fucking kidding me."
He appreciated you standing up for him more than you could imagine. And he found it mighty hot how hard you hit that guy. Seriously! He must be a good self defence teacher.
Donatello:
Donatello loves you so much, loves holding you and hugging you whenever he can. He adores it when you sit on his lap while he works.
But do you like to cuddle when you sleep? Tough luck. Getting him to bed is like trying to lick your own elbow: near impossible.
Regardless, you try. Because every once in a while Donatello is too tired to fight and he will go to bed.
Tonight is not one of those nights.
"Baby, please, just come to bed. Everyone's already asleep."
"I'll be there in a minute, just go on without me."
You sigh, not really seeing the point in fighting. Instead you return to his bed, trying to keep yourself awake playing games on your phone. When half an hour passes, you go back and try again.
"Donnie come on, aren't you tired? I just want to cuddle."
"I just need to put some stuff on a hard drive, April's writing a new article, she needs it for tomorrow."
You sigh once more, "Promise you'll come to bed right after?"
"I promise."
Donatello's bed is comfortable, but it's more comfortable with him in. You force yourself to stay awake; despite your exhaustion you're determined to cuddle tonight. It's all you want.
But it did not take an hour to put some documents onto a hard drive. And he's being awfully loud for just typing away on a computer.
"Are you fucking joking right now?!"
He jumps, almost dropping the box of beakers in his arms, "Hey love... Can't sleep?"
"You're rearranging your lab?! Why are you—since when do you rearrange things, huh? What the hell?!"
"I just y'know, thought things needed a change..?"
"Oh, and now is the time to change things, really? Of all the times to move your fucking beakers you decide to do it in the middle of the night after I specifically asked you to come to bed? Seriously?"
He gives a nervous grin, the kind that usually made you smile in return. But it was late — rather it was early at this point — and you were cranky.
"You can sleep without me, you're a big girl." He teased.
"I want to sleep with my boyfriend! I want to cuddle! Is that so much to ask for?!"
Donatello blinked, "You're right, I'm sorry, but I swear, I promise, I'll be ten minutes, honest."
"You can finish this tomorrow. If you're not in bed in the next ten seconds, I am going to scream and wake everyone else up."
"Don't be ridiculous—"
"Ten."
Donatello jumped, quickly moving to shove supplies in cupboards a little recklessly. You continued to count down from ten, storming off back to his bed for hopefully the finally time this night.
By the time you got to the very firm "Three... Two... One..." Donatello was racing to bed, dived in beside you, crashing and knocking your heads together.
He'd never tell you, for fear you'd let it get to your head, but he kind of liked it when you got bossy.
Michelangelo:
Anger and Michelangelo just don't mix. They just don't. He's the king of communication, he's tries his hardest to avoid fights at any and all costs. You've always appreciated his determination to talk things out with you.
But with his brothers? He shuts down, he goes quiet and just accepts whatever blame they put on him: he knows they don't mean it, they only say mean things when they're angry.
But it hurts, hearing his big brothers tell him he's stupid, that he's childish, that he's lackadaisical.
"What kind of word even is that?! I swear Donnie must read a thesaurus as a bedtime story.."
So he's allowed to complain, and you let him ramble when he comes to visit. He sits on your bed and the words just tumble out of his mouth, lets you move around the room tidying up while he rants.
"I just—Raph keeps calling me stupid. And I just—I-I just—You know, sometimes I believe it."
You freeze, sweater only half folded and turn to him, "But you're not stupid. Just because you're not some brainiac like Donatello doesn't make you stupid. If that was the case, then I'm stupid, Raph's stupid, April, Leo, Splinter is stupid. Do you think we're all stupid?"
"Well—no, but—"
"But what?"
"But I... I am a little stupid."
"No you're not! Mikey, how many times has you out of the box thinking saved the day? Y-You were the one who suggested playing friggen buck-buck to take down Shredder! Y-Your skateboarding—hoverboarding skills saved the world. You think your brothers could do that?"
Mikey scrunched his nose up, "That's not smart though. They're right. My-my focus is all over the place, I-I could never come up with a plan like Leo, I could never have half the brains Donnie has, and Raph just—he gets things that I don't and I-I am stupid!"
"I need to have a word with your brothers—"
"And that's another thing! Everyone still treats me like I'm some kid! I don't need you to have a word with them! You're not my mom."
"Then you have a word with them! But sitting here and complaining about things that just aren't true isn't going to change anything!"
He's taken aback. Much like himself, you hardly ever yell, never ever raise your voice at him.
"I am not going to stand here and let them insult you day in and day out! Either you do something about it, or I will!"
He blinks at you, you're aggressively folding the sweater in your arms and grumbling about how you could definitely take Raphael in a fist fight if need be. You mumble something about how nobody gets to speak to your boyfriend like that, and it finally clicks with Mikey.
"Alright. I'm going to talk to them," He's mostly talking to himself, "I'm going to show them that I'm not some stupid, ditzy, lackadaisical kid anymore. I'm your boyfriend, and nobody gets to speak with me that way!"
You beam at him, anger disappearing within the second with his newfound confidence, "Hell yeah! Nobody insults my boyfriend!"
"Your boyfriend!"
"My boyfriend!"
"Your boyfriend!"
His brothers' version of a wake up call is to point out his weaknesses, tell him what needs to be corrected. But you much prefer to build him up, point out his strengths.
But jeez, he does not like your angry face.

TMNT x Reader
Prompt: It seems that a brother of your S/O has a bone to pick with you
Leonardo’s S/O
You had been dating the Fearless leader for a few months now
As every relationship, you had your ups and downs with Leo, but it generally was a very smooth relationship
You found yourself taking after some of his mannerisms
It took a turn when you began treating his brothers not only like your brothers, but how Leonardo treated them as well
You were a little bossy
Leonardo found it endearing that you mimicked him in that way, but you saw how Donatello now looked at you
He started to ignore you when you walked into the room
It made you uneasy
You didn’t realize how when you talked to them, your tone started to change
When Mikey started calling you ‘Miss Mini Leonardo’, you got the hint
You had been taking it too far
You finally approached Donatello
He refused to look at you
“Look, I know you don’t like me. The least you can do is acknowledge that I exist”
Donnie was not having it
“You fail to realize how you’ve been treating us. You may be dating our brother, but you aren’t him. We don’t need another leader in the family”
His words stunned you
Sure, Mikey had called you a mini Leo, but it finally stuck
You sighed
“I’ve been getting ahead of myself”
“It’s normal to mimic your significant other’s mannerisms, but that doesn’t mean you treat us like he treats us when we’re on duty. Treat us like family. I’m sure Leo feels the same way”
You took his words to heart
In the coming weeks, you caught yourself sounding bossy in front of them
It happened a lot
It didn’t sound right for you to bark orders at them
You caught yourself mid-sentence sometimes, took a deep breath, and changed your tone
Even Leonardo noticed, giving you small glances and smiles as he saw you disciplining yourself
One day, Donatello approached you
“Thank you for listening to me”
All you wanted was for them to like you as much as Leo did
Well, maybe not that much
Raphael’s S/O
Dating Raphael was like a dream
He doted on you, was so affectionate, he truly treated you like his Queen
Well, in isolation at least
Outside of the bedroom, he was mainly possessive of you, wouldn’t let you out of his sight
You noticed Mikey look at the two of you often
He never smiled when he did
You just figured he was jealous, wanted somebody for himself
One day, you finally asked Raph what Mikey’s deal was
He never talked to you
“He thinks you’re taking me away from him”
You take Raph away from Mikey?
You didn’t quite know what to say
After all, Mikey had spent all of his years with Raph
They grew up together, for Gods’ sake
You’ve only been in their lives for a couple months, tops
When you approached Mikey, he tried to act nonchalant about it
“What? I’m not looking at you guys or anything”
Lying through his teeth
But you were stubborn, and you didn’t back down
He finally admitted it
“I like you alright, Y/N, but I feel like you’re changing Raph”
“I’m changing him?”
“He never just wants to play videogames with me anymore or go boarding. He just wants to spend time with you”
As he continued to speak, you could sense something different in his voice
Mikey was scared he’d never have his brother again
Did you really change Raphael that much?
You didn’t know what to say to him, so you just nodded and ran back to Raph’s room
It was basically your room as well now
When you explained to him what Mikey said, you had to hold him back from charging out to talk to Mikey
“Don’t make it worse, please”
“Baby, he thinks you’re changing me. Does he really think you have that much power over me?”
You gave him a look
Yeah, you did have that kind of power over him
Maybe it wasn’t such a good thing
He sighed
“You’re right. Whatever. I guess I have been spending more time with you than with my brothers recently”
That started a conversation on what you and him could do differently
You had basically moved in at that point, so there wasn’t a time where you weren’t glued to his side
You both decided that he needed to detach himself a little from you to spend more time with his brothers
They were his brothers, after all
You respected the fact that in reality, you were just a girlfriend
They were brothers for life
Plus, there were some things you could do for him that his brothers absolutely couldn’t
Donatello’s S/O
Not a day went by that Donatello didn’t pull you into his lab to show you something new he had made
Sure, most of the things weren’t completely groundbreaking, but he usually made them for you
And you absolutely loved them
Oh, the thought that went into these things that he made for you
One day while Don was showing you this new feature he added on your phone, Leo stormed in
He was not a happy camper
He began questioning why Donnie was wasting his time making things for you when he could be doing so much more for his brothers
They had needs for new things, too
Leonardo was used to Donnie reporting everything to him, making things at his request
Now, he was constantly either with you or making something he thought you’d like
Donatello instantly got defensive, saying that everything he made for you, he made some other version for his brothers
He wasn’t picking favorites
But Leonardo was not having it
No, in his mind, brothers needed to come first
Brothers needed the most up-to-date tech and gear for the benefit of the family and New York City’s safety
Yeah, he went there
Brought up the whole safety of the city thing
You didn’t have a single word to say
You had never asked Donnie to make something only for you and not his brothers
Donnie was right- when he made something for you, he made stuff for his brothers as well
Now, we won’t get into the quality of the items
He did sometimes give you the best version over his brothers
That was Leonardo’s problem
The conversation ended with you leaving in tears
Leonardo and Donatello remaining in the lab, death glares flying all over the place
“I’ll create what I please. You may be our leader, but you’re my brother first. Respect my priorities. Just because I love her doesn’t mean I love any of you less”
He had never admitted out loud that he loved you before
Now Leonardo was at a loss for words
He had no idea you guys were in love
In his brain, he somehow thought… Something else
He really thought that you were somehow taking advantage of Donatello and his knack for tech and science
As Donatello continued, Leo caught that that was not the case
You finally came out of your room, eyes still a bit pink and puffy from crying
You really did not like yelling
Leonardo found you and started showering you in apologies
Man, could that turtle apologize
Better than YouTubers really
You accepted his apology, but sternly stated that his tone from earlier was not welcome in your ears
Leonardo nodded
“I think Don is looking for you. Don’t distract him too much”
It was a joke spoken too soon, but you let it go
You knew Donnie could make it better
Michelangelo’s S/O
Dating Michelangelo was like a nonstop party
He was always up for anything you wanted to do
A Marvel movie marathon?
Hell yeah
Playing Mario Kart until you could barely see straight?
Obviously
In the mood to be smothered in love and affection?
Mikey was your guy
You couldn’t think of a time in your life when you felt happier
Every day with Mikey was your new favorite day
A couple weeks into your relationship with the youngest turtle, you noticed one of his brothers scoff when you suggested a new activity for the two of you to try
You tried not to let it get to you, but as the weeks went on, it happened more often
Raphael, it seemed, had a bone to pick with you
At first, you thought it was the fact that you kept Mikey busy playing games with you or trying new recipes
When you offered Raphael a controller to play along, he always said no
Maybe it was just you, but it seemed like Raph flat out didn’t like you
Now, you weren’t the most confrontational person
But this was the best relationship you’d ever had, and damn it, nobody was going to ruin it for you
One day you had offered Raph the controller to play along with you and Mikey
When he said no, as expected, you huffed
“What is your problem with me?”
That was not the right thing to say
Oh, not at all
Raphael absolutely exploded on you
Rambling on about how you were a huge distraction for Mikey, how he was less motivated to train, all he ever wanted to do was spend time with you
Wasting his time with you
You could feel something in the pit of your stomach
You swore you weren’t going to cry
You were surprised when Mikey stood up for you instantly
“What are you talking about, bro? Y/N is the best thing that’s ever happened to me! Why can’t you just let me be happy for once?”
Raph didn’t say anything
“Our whole lives has been training, staying secluded, staying in the sewers with nobody to talk to but ourselves. Fuck me since now I finally found someone that not only accepts me, but wants to spend time with me and loves me for me”
You hadn’t yet said that you loved him yet, but it was pretty obvious
“Be happy that I found someone to put up with me, bro”
Mikey pulled you closer to him, eyeing his brother in a way you didn’t think was possible for the youngest turtle
Was this his defensive side?
Oh, you liked that
Raphael clicked his tongue
“I guess. Good for you, Mike, finding someone to put up with you that also beats you in Mario Kart”
Mikey scoffed
“She’s just that good. She’d beat you, too!”
Raphael wasn’t having that
He snatched the third player controller and gestured at you to start the race
It definitely took you by surprise, but it really shouldn’t have
These guys were passionate, they were all each other had
You hoped Raphael wouldn’t hold your relationship with his brother against you any longer

Out Of Comfort
Genre : Adventure, Action, Humour, Hurt/Comfort
Summary : 2 years after the 'you-know-who’, Donnie struggles to adjust with the new way of life. The precarious science blocks are back haunting him, putting him in total stress while he tried his best to keep up with the new team play and co’ord.
Chapter 2 A New Start
Welding felt relaxing, the sound of tiny sparks are like a music to Donnie’s ears. It might not be a real music, but it’s melodious nonetheless. Donnie lifted up his googles, leans back to catch a break. He almost done fixing the hover shell, not the one from yesterday, the one that he kept fixing and fixing away, despite there’s nothing wrong with it.
The one he used last night was a prototype of a new model. It still looks the same as the old ones, but he did made a few upgrades on them. It was definitely frustrating when it got busted. He’s planning to use it more since it felt lighter than the old one. But, now he needs a new shell to wear on a patrol.
He looks at the battleshell charging station. What left there was his worn down Spider-shell. Below it was none other than his wrecked and broken shells that he hadn’t repair, yet. He let out a sad sigh, he looked around him to find that his lab are somewhat cleaner, much cleaner than he remembered. Usually the lab was littered with piles upon piles of inventions, blueprints, scattered metal parts, and energy drinks.
Now, it seems as if it was untouched. The sleek metallic purple walls with LEDs are still looks fresh and new. The floor was free from dust due to the roombas roam freely without bumping into any tech pieces. And the workbench,....empty. Only his old battleshell that he kept tinkering that are currently there. Also, a cup of coffee.
Donnie about to take a sip when he realized it was ran out. He inspect the glass and saw small coffee drips down the mug got frozen in place due to a long time exposed to the AC. How long have he been there without refilling his coffee? Does he been getting the science block again?
Putting down the mug, he rubbed his tired eyes in frustration. Was he being unproductive on purpose? What is he doing here? Why can’t he finish anything?
“Hey.” the voice made him jumped, he looked back to see Leo stood on the doorway. “Whoa, it’s okay. Just a little old me.” Leo held his hands out. Donnie frowned, he turned back to his hover shell.
“What do you want, Leo?”
“It’s training time, Don. Better not coop yourself up in the lab, or I’ll let Raph drag your shell to the Dojo.” Leo ordered as he left towards the Dojo. Donnie sighed heavily, he stood up and followed him. He admit, there’s nothing else he would do, science blocks are the worst and it became a daily routine ever since their Lair was smushed to smithereens. And, the fact that he hate to obey the words Leo told him to.
He wasn’t questioning his leadership skills. If Donnie allowed himself to be honest, the Slider actually knows what he’s doing, good at it in fact. Raph at first had a hard time to adjust, now the former leader putting his trust to Leo, even Mikey approved. Donnie, however, still adapting.
It wasn’t because that he hate to admit it, it just doesn’t sits right putting the leader role to the one who usually pulled some poor one-liners out of spite and keeps bugging your work with some pranks, jokes and poking on things that could cause explosions like it was some kind of a job, because if it is, he good some pretty good records he might get himself some promotions.
And now, the true color of the team seems to emerge. We got the Leader, The Muscle, The Heart and The Brain. Although, The Brain more likely The Brain-Dead one. Stupid science block keeping him from thinking straight, not much idea that pops out other than upgrading, or upgrading the upgrade, or upgrading the upgraded upgrade.
It might be some improvement for anyone, but for the one with the giant science head-cannon looming inside his head, that’s barely even an add-on. He’s unproductivity hurts him, as if the genius inside suddenly just wanted to stop, no more mad scientist mambo-jumbo. He felt it once again, the feeling that he had gone rotten, expired, outdated.....useless.
Seriously, what will he be for the team without his big brain? What can he do other than getting kicked in the booty several times that let your little brother saves your sorry butt?
If once again, he got knocked down and having Mikey, of all people saves him, he’s going to lose his mind.
###
“Alright, my sons. Now, let us begin to--Purple, where’s your battleshell?” they stared at Donnie in his bare-shell. He rolled his eyes, dejected.
“I’ll be fine, Dad. I’m not going to hurt myself.”
“Nono, my son. I believe you, it’s just....weird seeing you without one.” Splinter simply said, trying not to offend his purple son.
“Well, it’s in repair, and my shoulders are getting tired. So....” Donnie didn’t have to finish his sentence to earned a nod from his father.
“Verywell, then. Let us start,....now!” as on cue, the whole Dojo became dark. The brothers immediately forming back to back formation, weapons at their hands, full caution. “Hamatos carries essence of life, the Ninpo. Or what most common people called them, mystics.”
Raph sense a movement to his right, Splinter came in with a kick. Mikey saw the offense, he blocked the kick, swung his nunchaku to Splinters head. The rat dodged it with ease. Upon landing, Raph coming in clutch with his fist. Splinter jumps back into the darkness. “Some may think that it is the most essential in fighting.”
The turtles back to their formation, listening to every sound to pinpoint the next attack. “Others, prefer something else.” a tail emerge from the darkness. Donnie shielded himself with his bo, the tail wrapped around the wooden weapon. Donnie expected the attempt of pulling, he pulled harder, forcing Splinter to show up. Leo anticipated Donnie’s strategy, he swung his sword at the same time Donnie ducked.
Splinter didn’t expect the timing between the two, but he flawlessly avoided himself from being cut in half. Splinter pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it onto the ground. The smoke caused them to cough, which means distractions. They have no choice but to bail on their formation.
“There will be a time where mystic powers will do no good.” Leo sense presence near him. He ducked down to escape another kick. “So, you must focus on your own ability.” He tail swipe Leo’s katanas, leaving him unarmed.
“Agility.” Splinter increases his speed, offering punches and kicks towards the turtle. Leo dodged every attack, seamlessly evading and parrying every blow. He counter-attacked Splinter’s punch, delivering a fist to his face. Splinter caught his hand and kicked Leo away, disappearing into the dark.
“Strength.” Raph blocked a powerful kick out of Splinter, pushed him back a meter. Another tail swipe, Raph let it wrapped on his hand and threw his dad away.
“Speed.” Splinter took a punch from what seems to be Mikey’s fist. Splinter blocked his next punch, only met with a swipe kick a second after. Mikey swung his nunchakus with unimaginable speed. Splinter steps up his game to blocked a series of attacks that his youngest son often called it ‘Razzmatazz’. He manage to grabbed both nunchakus and threw orange from the fight.
“And, Instinct.” Donnie dodged a powerful kick launches towards him. He swings his bo just in time to meet Splinter’s punch. Once again, he disappeared. Donnie waited, trying to hear the footsteps. Behind you! He turns to blocked another powerful kick, this time it was too much to hold, it sent Donnie flying to a nearby wall. He winced and panted, adjusting his weight to his bo.
The lights turned on, Splinter ran towards him. “I’m fine!” his voice sounded a bit too loud. Splinter flinched, he’s unsure if the pain was bearable, but he knows well how stubborn his purple son can be. He decided to let it go, “You did better, my son. If you did not block that last kick, you might get yourself hurt even more.” He thought that he should apologize, but he didn’t think purple would appreciate that.
“Alright, take a break all of you.” he put both of his hands on his back, cracking it forward. “Ugh, while I tend to my bad back, you may have some spar with each other.” he walked away while rubbing his back.
“Hey, Raphie. Wanna spar with me?” Mikey asked excitedly. Raph smiled, accepting the challenge.
“Sure thing, Mikey.” Raph readied up. Mikey activates his mystic chains and whips the nunchaku to Raph, wrapping his whole body. Raph blinks before he was pulled away.
“AAAAHHH!!!” a lod crash was heard. Leo smirks at the scene. Donnie gathers back his bearings and prepared for the sparring.
“Leo?” the slider slowly turns with his smug face. Donnie’s on his pose, “Care to join?” giving him the serious look. Leo kept his usual expression as he readied himself. Donnie strikes first, jabbing his bo to his head, Leo tilted his head to dodge. Donnie swings, Leo parried them with his katanas. He gave more barraging swings, Leo’s agility gives him the advantage. He dodged, parried him with literal ease.
Leo still using the same face. “What’s wrong, Dee-man? Can’t catch little Leo?” Donnie frowned. He swung, Leo blocked and kicked him in the gut. Donnie yelped, Leo sent another kick to the face. Donnie fell to the floor, shaking his head from the mild headache. Leo knelled down, “Aww, had enough already?”
Donnie growled. He swung to his leg, Leo had expected that. He got up and sent more swing barrage, this time a lot faster and more frantic. Leo parried a lot more on this one, but didn’t change the expression on his face. Donnie downward, Leo blocked it. Eyes meeting eyes. “Come on, Don. Is that all? I can definitely fight you blind-folded.”
Donnie’s patience grew thin. He didn’t have to tell him that. He knows he can, and he might will one day.
Donnie pushed him back, now anger are definitely involved. Leo step up his game some more every time Donnie pulled off some new combos and new speed and variety. Donnie looked at him in the face.
Shut up.
He was parried by another sword.
Shut Up!
He can’t beat him.
Shut Up!!!
He’ll never catch up to them.
Shut UP!!!!
He’s not good enough.
“SHUT UP!!!!!”
Leo flinched. Donnie panting hard, hands gripping tightly to his bo. Eyes fixated at Leo, as if he’s ready to kill. Raph and Mikey stunned by Donnie’s shouting.
Donnie growled for real, this time. The deep reptilian growl filled his throat with his fang showing up menacingly. Donnie engaging his predator side, Leo held out his hand.
“Okay, calm down, Dee. There’s no need to continue this with violence. Okay?”
“GRRRR!!!” Donnie attacks Leo with full intention. Leo no longer wanting to fight, he dodged every move Donnie makes. It was fast and chaotic, more like trying to hurt rather than spar.
“Donnie, STOP!!!”
“GRAAAHH!!!”
Raph blocks Donnie’s bo. “Donnie, knock it off!!!”
“Please calm down!” Mikey plead. Donnie ignored them all, he charged at Raph with blind rage. Raph dodged the jab, throw his fist at Donnie. He didn’t dodge, letting it hit his face. Donnie growled deeply, eyes as sharp as needle. Raph was stunned, he didn’t expect Donnie to accept the hit. He felt guilty for hurting his little brother.
Splinter ran back after being called by Mikey. “Purple!!”
Donnie saw an opening on Raph, he charge in while Raph refused to move. Leo tackled Donnie and pinned him to the ground. He refused to back down and squirmed his way to freedom as Leo gripped his limbs for dear life.
“Donatello!!!”
Leo, Raph and Donnie startled by his father’s voice.
“Enough!” Leo froze for a little while, he let go of Donnie once he felt no resistance. Donnie layed down, panting. He suddenly really exhausted. All that anger took too much energy out of him. He slowly hoist himself up to a sitting position. Splinter approached his purple son. Carefully assessing the damage around the turtle. There’s a bruise on his right cheek, might be caused by his oldest son as when he meets his eyes, he can see the guilt he’s facing.
“Purple? What is up with you?” Donnie refused to talk or making eye contact to his father. Splinter can still feel anger looming around him. Did one of the brothers ticked him off? What provokes him?
“Donatello!”
“I DON’T KNOW, OKAY!!!!” he yelled. Splinter jerked up by the sudden loud voice that felt louder to his rat ears. Donnie noticed that he went too much. “I...I just--” Donnie can’t hold back the tears that began to form in his eyes. He looked down to obscure it.
Splinter was surprised seeing his son cried. The brothers reacts the same way. Devastated seeing their usual emotionless turtle broke into tears.
Splinter held out his hand, “My son,-” Donnie swatted away his hand and ran straight to his lab. Not even the call of his name from his family can get his attention. He closed the iron-forced door of his lab, locking it immediately. Donnie sat under his desk, hugging his legs to his chest as he burst to tears. The lab was eerily quiet, the only sounds that are presence are his and the sound of his family trying to reach for him from the other side of the door.
He felt vulnerable having to broke down like this, he hates it. The way the others desperately trying to get him to open the door made it worse. He wasn’t supposed to show his weakness at the time, he’s a Hamato, a descendant of heart o’ steel. And steel has a lot influence with tech, his thing. He supposed to be able to control his feelings.
Now, his meltdown would definitely stuck in the topic for a while in this whole family situation. He knows he’s having trouble, yes he does. And he knows he needs to keep up with the others. He knows, he’s the smart one.
He tried his best, to keep up, to adjust, to be stronger, for everyone’s sake. But he can’t let his family help him with that, they all helped enough. He can’t let them once again drag their butts to fix his problems for him, no. Fixing is his thing, and he can fix his own problem by himself. Just uh, not now. He needs more time, to figure things out. His family just need to be patience, they can handle the waiting game. They’ve done this before, just like waiting for the drill out of its beta version.
He also, needs to be patience. Everything’s going to be alright, he’ll figure it out. He have to. For everyone’s sake.
###
The rest of the day passes by, quietly. Donnie had refuse to talk or eat, he sent Shelldon to grab some drinkable sustenance for him. He can handle being hungry, but thirst must be dealt with. As he recalled some research he found out that living beings can survive hunger for at least a week as long as they have enough supplies of water. Although, he can’t say the same about coffee, but not like it’s bothering him.
He waited for Shelldon to come back with a drink, his lab door still close but no longer locked. Once in a while his brothers visited him as he succumb to his depressions in his favorite purple hoodie, concealing his swollen eyes as a result from the earlier’s mental breakdown.
They talked, though they tried not to bring up of what happened in the Dojo. Leo, most of all, had a hard time keeping it cool. The red-eared slider guiltily apologized for making fun of him in training. Donnie might not talk about it, but he willing to forgive him. It wasn’t Leo’s fault that he had problems, he needs to stop playing the Blame Game.
“We love you, Don. And nobody can change that.” Leo said.
“I know.” Donnie simply replied.
His thought was broken by the sound of whirring from the purple drone who he manage to salvage, thankful that Shredder didn’t think twice and explode his core memory.
“Yo, Dee. I got the coffee for you.” the drone informed enthusiastically.
“Thanks, Shelldon.” he quietly accepted the coffee and took the first sip before once again continuing his currently favorite activity, staring an empty desk. Shelldon’s cheery attitude turned into worry as he watched his creator’s constant solitude. Slumping his upper body further back into his gaming chair, holding the coffee mug in both hands.
“Dude. You okay?” he asked for what seems like the tenth times by now. The response stayed the same.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Shelldon wasn’t happy with the answer, but he shrugged it off. He took out his lanky robot arm and grabbed something that sitting on top of him.
“Mikey told me to give you this.” he held out a box of pizza at him. “You should at least eat something, Donnie.” he plead. Donnie stared at the pizza then at Shelldon. The look of worry annoyed him. Great, even a robot is worried about him. But he knows better that Shelldon is not just a robot. He’s a family, part of the Hamato, the drone has feelings and conscious of its own.
Donnie accepted the package, he took a slice and eat it. Shelldon--although not quite visible--beaming away that he had accepted the offer.
“Thank you, Shelldon.”
“You’re welcome, Dee!” Shelldon flew off to the other side of the lab, knowing that he’d done his job. Donnie chuckled quietly as he gone. It’s weird to think that the drone behaving like a kid, which was the intention of installing the emotion-settings in the first place. He can’t remember the last time he acted like one, those days of constant playing, troublemaking and have no care in the world. He said it before; it was messy but gosh, it was fun.
Then, he heard the lair suddenly began crowdy. He didn’t realized that the door was opened, did Shelldon forgot to close the door? How could an AI forget something? Donnie have no mood to stand up or command anything for now, so he let it be. He heard a distant sound of clip-clop from hooves in the lair. The only mutant he knows that is involving hooves is Baron Draxum. What is he doing here? And the sound of chit-chats heard along with it as well, especially some faint female voices and his dad.
They all having a chat out there. How long they’ve been in this states? Why haven’t anyone informed him about visitors? Then again, he’d been cooped up in this lab and desiring for some temporary isolations, of course they haven’t inform him.
Not wanting to bother with anything about it, he continued sipping his coffee and chomped down more pizza into his throat. Not much he can do for now, other than listening the distant inaudible voices. Not even bothering to look up to the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer to the lab.
“Hey, big guy. How’s it going?” April leans her body to the door frame, keeping it cool.
“’m fine.” he answered again, too often now that it sounds more like a chanting spell. April offered a sad smile as she bring herself to sit beside the purple genius.
“Wanna talk about it?” she asked softly. Donnie sipped his mug as a sign that he refused her demands. “I see. Well, we wanted to hang out together as family to the hidden City.” she told.
“Last time we did that we got thrown in jail.” he bluntly respond.
“Well, yes. But things are different now. Now that we stopped that ‘you-know-who’, they pretty much removed the bounties from our heads.” she added, definitely sounding more excited than before. Donnie still can’t trust the sudden change, although he does agree the treatment for doing so after that horrible incident, he didn’t expect anything from the Yokais but pay some respect for sparing them from the devilish evil claws they called Shredder.
“Still, I’m not sure that’s a good idea. Remember that time where we trust that spider lady for taking care of ‘you-know-who’, and look what she did, total havoc, everywhere.”
“Well, at least she did help out with locating the....uuuh....”
“Empyrean.”
“Yeah, that. If it wasn’t for her, we might not be able to save the day and,... You know what I mean.” she reluctantly continued her sentence. Donnie can tell why, he also didn’t want to think of what happen if they can’t find where Shredder had kept their father hostage. Can’t probably sleep knowing if they were too late, Big Mama was indeed offer a huge help even though she’s only can help telling them the location.
Although, the point still stands, she wasn’t a type of person that can be easily trusted. Things happened because of her, and they suffered the most of it. Can’t believe he wished that he should’ve listen to Leo the first time, probably one of the reason why he can be such a good leader.
“Look, I know it’s hard to believe it that way. But I promise, I got some good hunch today. Everything will be fine. You can blame me if anything goes wrong in your way, okay?” And there it is, the classic humble April. The very things he envies the most out of her, dare enough to take the blame and always be there with positive attitude.
And, yes, April always had a strong hunch, it never failed them and they all knew that. If she thinks everything will be fine, then it will indeed.
“So, do you trust me?” she stood up with a big confident smile on her face. It somewhat contagious and made him smile as well.
“Of course, you’re the only human that I trust in this world, April.” he responded, with less tense or sad tone.
“What, you still don’t trust Casey?” as on cue, a loud non-feminine female voice shouting in the background, followed by what sounds like his brothers shouting back at her. Donnie grimaced at the behaviour of that girl. Ever since the former Foot-clan helped out with defeating Shredder, the group immediately warmed up to her. Except for Donnie.
He still respected her for saving his father, however he never had any connection with the girl. Her risk-loving-fight-adoring attitude giving his big bulky brother, Raphael a worthy friendly match. She didn’t even flinched by his loud thundering roar, if by chance she roared right back. And her chaotic energy is enough to keep up with Leo and Mikey.
Donnie didn’t share much with such connections, in which he easily-predicted, the girl hates science. Although, she does find his inventions as cool and awesome, she might thinking about exploding it in place though. Leo would be proud.
Also, she’s terrifying, not as much as April, but she gave him too many goosebumps for the past years.
“In theory, she might be the last person to be trusted when it involves ‘safety’. Please don’t tell her that!” he semi-whispering, not wanting her to charged in and wreck something explosive in his lab.
“Your secret safe with me.” she gestured a zipping motion across her mouth. Donnie chuckles, “Now, come on. Everyone’s waiting. You don’t have to take your hoodie off if you don’t want to.”
Donnie smiled at that, he stood up and let April grabbed his hand leading him to the group. “Thanks, April.”
“Anytime, Dee.” she grinned at him.

This is my character design for my Rise OC Ume Hoshino [pronounced as oo-meh], a 15-year-old practitioner in martial arts -- her one being Arnis.
Short Bio Born to parents who are both martial arts practitioners -- her father a Karate practitioner, and her mother in Arnis -- Ume is the only child of Kane Hoshino [pronounced as kah-neh] and Gloria Bangon, who reside in California. Her whole name is Malaia Ume B. Hoshino.
First Exposure to Martial Arts Her first exposure was at the age of five, when she learned her first martial arts: Taekwondo, under the supervision of her mother’s colleague Kwon Myung-Ki. Then learned Karate at the age of six, taught by her father. She managed to achieve black belts in both martial arts at the ages of ten and eleven respectively, making her one of the youngest martial arts specialists in the Hoshino and Bangon families. Then pursued Arnis, taught by her mother at the age of eleven and continues with the craft in the present.
Other Things Besides Martial Arts Besides being a martial arts specialist, Ume is multi-lingual having learned Japanese, English, Filipino and Sign Language. She has other hobbies too, such as painting, cooking, baking, reading and stargazing. Her most favorite hobby is being on her violin, which she took lessons on alongside Karate. When at times alone, she tends to dance around while playing it.  Personality Initially mistaken as cold, Ume has a timid personality since she rarely had friends (let alone acquaintances) and is always training with either her parents or their colleagues. Her hesitance towards April showed her unsure fear to strangers. As soon as she warms up to a person, she eventually becomes more curious, talkative, funny, sensitive, intuitive and empathetic towards them -- even becomes overprotective with people she holds dear. She always puts others’ safety and well-being above all else, completely ignoring (even forgetting and become oblivious of) her own.
In the reverse, Ume becomes easily defensive when she feels provoked, or anything that makes her feel that her personal barrier has been breached, which can start an argument. As someone being raised in a family of strong principles, she tends to have a stubborn streak and will do whatever means necessary to make them believe that she’s right -- she eventually grows out of this, much to her loved ones’ relief. Ume tends to be very insecure of herself, just to have it masked by her ‘cool’ façade. In combat or missions, Ume tends to be more serious and focused in getting her job done. As a perfectionist and all-or-nothing type of person, she does her best to see things through with and without the accompaniment of her comrades present.
Her Relationship with April and the Turtles April O’Neil  Ume first met April when the former got accidentally hit on the back by a ball. At first, Ume was hesitant towards April’s assistance, and grew more suspicious when April befriended her. It took time until Ume warmed up to April, even becoming best of friends and seeing each other as sisters.
Ume eventually taught April some basic Taekwondo moves, while April taught Ume some baseball.
The last time April saw Ume was at the age of eleven, when the latter’s father passed away in a car accident -- a reason Ume’s family moved back to California. Since the move, April never heard from Ume until one year after Hoshino’s death. The two girls eventually sent each other email and would chat from time to time.
Both girls, April who turned sixteen and Ume fifteen, reunited in April’s school. Even then, nothing seemed to change between the two; except that Ume grew more protective of April than she was years prior.
Hamato Michaelangelo Mikey was the first of the Hamato brothers to meet Ume. Upon meeting April and suddenly noticing that she wasn’t alone Mikey became curious and hesitant towards Ume, who eventually turned defensive and would go in front of April to protect her. After a brief introduction, Mikey was still hesitant towards Ume, as the latter is with him.  Just as it did with April, it took time before Ume warmed up to Mikey.--- warmed up to the point that they would sneak out at night either to stargaze at the rooftop, have art jams in the park, or to have some midnight slices of pizza. At times, whenever Ume felt more like playing on her violin, Mikey would listen to her play while he paints. Ume eventually sees Mikey as a younger brother figure, just as the latter sees her as another sister figure besides April. As a whole, Mikey was genuinely thrilled to have another human befriend him and see him as he is, not as a mutant. The two eventually became best of friends, and even called themselves the Artsy Two. After seeing Ume warm up to his brothers, Mikey became protective of her just as she is with him. She and Mikey would eventually have one corner of the lair to themselves called the Art Corner, where they can hold art jams freely.
Hamato Donatello Second to meet Ume was Donnie, who she encountered while she’s in a sleepover with April. Ume was startled to find out that Mikey has an older brother, even more startled when Donnie confirmed for her (albeit reluctantly) that there are four of them. At first, Ume didn’t like how cocky and know-it-all Donnie presented himself to be, just as the latter didn’t fully trust her to the point that he creates more inventions to heighten security around the lair in case she’s with the Foot Clan.
Eventually, the two warmed up in a way they didn’t expect. Donnie is science-y to Ume’s artsy, a complete contrast. But the meeting that changed their views with one another was when Donnie spotted how curious Ume can be, with her commenting on how genius his inventions were, despite her being not too tech-savvy. She obliviously opened up her insecurities to him and surprisingly in turn [after seeing how genuinely vulnerable she was] allowed him to open up as well. When not in missions, and if not with Mikey or April, Ume would stay in Donnie’s lab to play for him while he works on his inventions. Or they would hang out in the library, which was a joy to Donnie that someone else loved visiting there. Whenever Donnie felt down, Ume would either make some coffee for him or give him a hug. For someone who’s not welcome to physical touch because of a soft shell (unless it’s with family), those warm hugs meant a lot to Donnie. And him allowing an outsider like her to even come as close to hugging him meant how much he trusted her.  Logic may be Donnie’s forte, but Ume balanced him out with her empathy. As time passed, the two became very close friends.
Hamato Leonardo Possibly out of the brothers, Ume’s encounter with Leo (third one of the brothers to meet) is the quickest one. The two met by accident when Leo searched for Mikey. As the second eldest of the turtles, it was Leo’s responsibility to make sure that all brothers would be in the lair by nightfall. Leo became concerned that Mikey wasn’t around so, with Splinter’s permission, he went around the sewers to find his brother. He eventually found Mikey walking casually with Ume. Thanks to Donnie’s mentioning that there are four brothers in all, she felt less confrontational with Leo.  Unlike Ume, Leo is more carefree and laidback that at times, he thinks that she’s the exact female counterpart of Donnie. Which he found out later on, wasn’t the case. When Leo felt down after one mission, he simply shared to her that his brothers didn’t always trust him whenever he had a plan, or trying to prove a point. Ume admitted to him that she knew what it was like to feel left out, having kept all this pain while covering it with his confident persona. She knew because she felt the same way with her peers. That made Leo realize that, despite her hanging out with Donnie or Mikey, she and Leo shared more things in common than he thought to the point that they confide in one another. When hanging out together, Ume would watch Leo perform his tricks at the ramp. And at times Leo would watch her play the violin, and sometimes dance around with her. Their most favorite pastime? Sparring and then sleep right after. Both Ume and Leo possessed a balanced personality, with the latter being more unpredictable than the former.
Hamato Raphael Most probably the friendliest encounter of the brothers is Ume’s with Raph. Unlike her previous encounters, her interaction with Raph was more natural and fun. She first met Raph when he decided to talk to Donnie about possible upgrades for their tank. Upon entering the lab, Raph spotted Ume just sitting in a spare stool next to Donnie, handing over the tools. As soon as she spotted Raph, she immediately introduced herself formally, since she knew that Raph is the eldest of the brothers. And being one of the youngest in the family herself, all she could do was be formal with him. Raph found her being formal as nothing short of weirdly adorable. He already knew of her thanks to his brothers having found a new human friend. Instead of being the overprotective or stern one around, he instead welcomed her happily. Even though the two are of same age, Ume still looks up to Raph and considered him an older brother figure. Likewise Raph saw Ume as a younger sibling. The two spent time together either looking up cute things in the internet (as long as it’s not Mrs. Cuddles) or do some sparring (tonfas vs rattan sticks). They would offer each other some advice or come up with ideas that come to mind, with Raph offering her advice on how she can improve herself as a fighter; while Ume would offer some tips on how to get close with Mayhem.
Despite Ume being more capable than she lets on, Raph maintained a protective hand on her much to her slight annoyance. Otherwise, Ume knew that Raph meant well being protective of her, a trait she never grew tired of.

"So, can I go now?" Casey asked impatiently, trying to flex his arm. "I've got places to be, slowpoke."
Donnie glared at him, irritated. He seemed even more frustrated that Casey had made that semi flirty jab at him.  "Like where?"
"You know...around." He gave a toothy grin.
"Very specific, Jones."
"I like to think I'm very pacific."
"That's-"
"Actually..." Casey wiggled his eyebrows. "Red wanted to talk to me about something. Maybe a bit more than talk if you know what I mean..." He shrugged. "Can't exactly blame her. I'm a catch."
'We aren't there yet, Jones.'
'Is it about April? Because it's not my fault, she ...y'know likes me more.'
Donnie's heart plummeted, dropping the scalpel he was holding. It crashed by his feet loudly, but he didn't bother picking it up.  "You better go then." He said coldly.
"Are you sure? Because I wanted to tell you some-"
"Just leave!" He snapped. "Can't you tell I'm busy? I've got retromutagen to work on."
"Jeez, okay. Don't get your tail in a knot." The teen raised his hands in surrender.
Casey stumbled out of the lab, dazed and confused. His arm thankfully didn't hurt anymore, but he still felt a bit uneasy and sick to his stomach. He really just wanted to take a nap, forget about everything that happened and maybe never work with Donatello again. Couldn't that turtle take a joke?
He needed a distraction...
"CJ!" Mikey exclaimed, leaping towards him with a stupid grin on his face. Casey yelped, taken aback by the orange turtle's enthusiasm. At least that was a distraction alright.  "You won't believe this, dude!"
Casey smirked. "You know, I'm starting to think everything is believable at this point. What's up? Did you discover a new pizza joint?"
The smallest turtle looked about ready to explode with excitement. "Nope! Can't tell you yet, bro.  Come on, Leo's explaining everything at the dojo! I'm just getting you and Donnie! I'm ...Mikey the messenger!" And then he was off again, no doubt badgering Donatello.
Casey shook his head, laughing. Though he was somewhat curious about whatever the leader in blue had to say.
He entered the dojo, checking if Master Splinter was behind him. He trusted the old ninja master, and couldn't deny he was a big help...but that didn't stop him from flinching every time they made eye contact. Rats still gave him the creeps.
Raph and April were already there, chatting amongst themselves. Raph was currently practicing opening and closing April's tessen.
"I dunno, it just seems a bit..." He trailed off.
"A bit what, Raph?" April's eyebrows furrowed. "Go on, finish that sentence."
"It's not very sharp, that's all." As he said this, the tip of the fan poked his finger and he let out a squawk of pain.
"Not very sharp, huh?" April swiped the fan back. "Remember this from me: don't judge everything by its outer appearance."
"Touché." Raph waved at Casey, and the pair did an elaborate secret hand shake.
"What's this about anyway?" He folded his arms.
"Beats us." Raph shrugged. "All Mikey said was-" He changed his voice to a high pitched, cruel but accurate impression of his youngest brother. "Dudes you've gotta hear this! I'm gonna cry on the floor if you don't come to the dojo right this second!"
"It must be big if Leo wants to tell us." April said. "I mean, all Raph and I dealt with was the Purple Dragons graffiting a stop sign."
"It was a slow night!" Raph protested.
"Maybe they saw Karai?" Casey suggested. That was really the only thing he could think of.
Mikey bounded into the dojo, followed by an extremely disgruntled Donnie, who made a big show of standing as far away from Casey as possible.
"What's all this about?" Donnie asked.
The single light bulb above them started to burn out. The team heard shuffling from behind the large tree, and a shadowy figure approached them, stepping into the dimly lit middle area. He dramatically raised his head, looking grim.
"You're probably wondering why I called you here this evening." Leo said, glancing at Mikey, who of course already knew and was wiggling with excitement.
"Well, yeah. Spit it out, already." Raph said impatiently.
Leo ignored him. "Mikey and I encountered something tonight.  Another mutant. We thought we caught them all or made allies with them but..."
"What?" His emerald eyes widened.
"What is it?" Donnie pressed.
"A dragon!" Mikey interrupted. "A humongous dragon! He had razor sharp teeth and claws!" He paused. "Actually he kinda reminded me of Leatherhead but way less friendly."
"Dragons aren't real, meathead." Donnie grumbled. "They're completely made up fictional stories."
"Have you ever seen a dragon before? Huh? Have you Donnie?" Mikey retorted, cloudy blue eyes filled with a sense of innocence that truly believed dragons were real- but also with a stubborn pride to prove his genius brother wrong. A common occurrence between the two youngest brothers.
"No but-"
"See?" Mikey looked triumphedley at Donnie, then turned back to Leo. "Continue,"
"Like I...and I guess Mikey was saying, we know it's some type of reptile. Not a dragon for sure, but something."
"Any distinctive features?" Donnie asked, snark evident in his tone. "There are over 8000 living species of reptiles, so you might need to be more specific."
"Ah, shut up Brainiac." Raph groaned.
"He's got a point though." Casey pointed out. "Not that I'm agreeing with him- I mean...there are like, a lot of reptiles out there."
"We didn't get a close look at it, I'm afraid. We had to retreat. Whatever it was, it was tough."
"And...kinda scary." Mikey said, hiding behind his oldest brother wearily.
"Fear is the path to the dark side, Mikey." Leo said firmly, patting his head. "Don't let your fear cloud your judgment. We can take it on. Just like we always do."
The group stared at the leader blankly.
"Did you really just quote Yoda?"  April said, covering her mouth to stop her giggles.
"Wh- nooo..." Leo blushed, leaning against the tree in a failed attempt to seem casual. "Why would I do that? That's totally ...lame." Clearing his throat, he continued: "Tomorrow we'll hold a stake out to find this mutant. I'm thinking they may have a chance to be an ally. Any questions?"
Mikey raised his hand. "Are you sure we can't have a pizza out instead? I'm not really a fan of steak and-"
"Any relevant questions?"
"Has it done any actual damage?" April tilted her head.
"It looked more scared than anything, actually." said Leo. "That's why I think we can convince it to join our allegiance."
"And if it isn't willing? Suppose it isn't up for prancing through a meadow with us and decides to kill us all?" Raph said. "Because our track record with friendly mutants tends to be a mixed bag."
"You didn't answer my question, did it do any damage?"
Leo chewed on his lip. "So...don't freak out but, it- she- he? Er- they looked very hungry and did attempt to spit on us. With acid. Or venom or whatever." He pressed on, despite the horrified looks of his peers. "It'll be okay! I have full confidence we can handle this as a team."
"So let me get this straight, Leo." Raph said, moving forward to his brother. "You almost got killed by this monster and your next course of action is: let's be friends! Are you out of your shell? That plan works just as well as Casey and Donnie baking cookies together!"
"For once I agree with Raph." Donnie said, earning a very disgruntled look from his brother.
"I didn't say friends, just figure out their motives." Leo mumbled.
"Whatever you say, Fearless." Raph pushed his brother aside roughly. "Good luck with that. I'm gonna check out Bloody Deaths III, anyone wanna play with me? Casey?"
"Sure," Casey felt his phone buzz. An anxious text from his twelve year old sister Riley snapped him back to reality. "Ah...actually can't. My little sister is getting worried. See you guys tomorrow?"
"Yeah, whatever."
"No worries. Older brother duties call." Leo nodded.
"Don't worry Raph, I'll play with you!" Mikey
"So will I." Leo agreed, happy to relax for a little bit. "How about you guys?" He glanced at Donnie and April, the last remaining members still inside the dojo.
"Just a moment. I'll be right there." April confirmed.
"Don't keep us waiting," Raph cracked his knuckles.
As they were leaving the dojo, Donnie felt a tap on his shoulder. Spinning around, he faced the beaming freckled face of April O' Neil.
"Hey!" She said cheerfully, blue eyes bright and curious.
"Er, um, hey!" He echoed, voice raising several octaves as puberty decided to betray him. He was grateful his brothers were in the other room, babbling about the video game Raph found in the dumpster. No doubt they would be teasing him about his failed attempt at flirting.
"I wanted to talk to you." April said.
"About the new mutant? Because I didn't get a chance to see it-"
"No, no." She interrupted, nudging his shoulder playfully. He blushed at the contact. "I meant about you and Casey. Everything turned out okay?"
Donnie fought the urge to groan. Of course it was about Jones. Instead, he bit his tongue, smiled sweetly and said: "He was...okay." he waved his hand vaguely.
April grinned, relieved. "Wow, that's way better than I expected!"
Donnie narrowed his eyes.
"What I mean is, you two are my closest friends. Seeing you two butt heads, act like you hate each other-  it hurts." She explained. "So it's nice seeing my two best buds get along.
'Best ...buds.' Donnie thought to himself, analyzing each word carefully. 'So maybe she isn't interested in him. That boy with his cocky grin and his stupid egotistical-'
"Casey mentioned you fixed his arm up too!"
"Huh?"
"His arm...he sprained it and you patched it up."
He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Oh, that." He chuckled. "Wait...he told you?"
"Yeah, he seems grateful but obviously too 'macho' to admit that."
"It wasn't really anything special."
"But it was, Donnie." April's eyes twinkled. "It was a really nice thing to do. I'm just...so happy you two are finally getting along. Thank you. I knew you would eventually!"
"Heh, well you know."
April chuckled, taking his hand as they walked to the pit.
Mikey sprung up from his beanbag chair. "Yuck, did you two kiss?" He gagged.
April rolled her eyes. "Wouldn't you like to know."
Raph pretended to throw up into his bowl of popcorn while Leo just laughed fondly.
"Take a seat you guys." He said. "We're about to start the game!"
"Actually I think I might call in early tonight." Donnie faked a yawn. "I'm so ...tired."
"You? Sleep?" Raph snorted. "If you didn't want to hang out with us, you could just say that. I don't think I've seen you go in your room since you were thirteen, Don."
"That's not true..." Donnie's cheeks flushed.
"Aw, leave him be." April said, grabbing a handful of popcorn despite Raphael's protests. "He needs his rest."
"Yeah, you do look significantly greener than normal, dude." Mikey pointed out.  "So to speak."
"Go get some rest." Leo said, raising a comforting hand to Donatello's shoulder. "That's an order from your leader."
"Well...goodnight then. Have fun." Donnie added an extra fake yawn for added effect, then retreated to the lab when they looked the other way.
~•~
Donatello checked his very messy notes, examining each point with precision. If he wasn't exact, weeks, heck, months of research would be a waste. He wasn't going to let anyone, let alone Casey Jones ruin his process. The lack of sleep already made his work sloppy.
"Add the dose of norepinephrine, stir carefully with the calibrated mutagen..." He mumbled under his breath. "Then wait ten minutes before..."
But he couldn't get that terribly charismatic smirk out of his mind. That no nothing, cocky little son of a-
"Focus Donnie. Don't think about him."
"Talking to yourself again I see."
"Gah!" Donnie yelped, practically doing ballet leaps as he grabbed the nearly fallen canister. He turned around to face his older, but significantly shorter brother. "Hamato Raphael!" He squeaked shrilly.
"Ooh using the full name on me." Raph snickered. "What did I do to deserve that?"
"How long have you been here?"
Raph shrugged, poking the bunsen burner. "Eh, long enough."
"Weren't you suppose to be playing that dumb game with the others?"
"Yeah, and we beat it." He said, piercing green eyes staring him down with a sense of judgement. "And I thought you were supposed to be sleeping. Shoulda have known you'd be back in your Nerd Cave." He flicked Donnie's arm.
"Why are you here?"
"Okay, twenty questions, is it against the law to see my baby brother?"
Donnie folded his arms. "Since when do you ever visit me for no reason?"
"Because I'm such a kind, caring brother?" He looked away guiltily. "Who simply wanted to check on you? Is that such a terrible thing, Donatello?" He leaned forward, dropping the act to return to his usual deadpan tone. "Also my motorcycle needs fixing."
"Ah, there it is."
"Watch the snark, I need it fixed soon."
"Fine, fine." Donnie sighed. "I will."
"Good, 'cause Casey and I are gonna hit the streets with that baby." He said smugly.
Donnie wilted. "Jones?"
Raph raised his eyebrows. "Yeah, Casey Jones. Human, dark hair, lots of missing teeth...this tall? Ring any bells? Oh, right. Forgot you and him had this thing going on..."
"It isn't about that." Donnie said quickly. "We...him and I..."
"You know, seeing you two act like idiots around each other isn't gonna help the team out. Even Mikey thinks it's stupid."
First April, now Raph? And apparently Mikey too...
"I don't care about what you and Jones do, it isn't really my business." Donnie cooled down, trying to tame his temper. "And we're trying, truly trying, at least I am to be civil."
"Hmph, yeah right."
"And ...I don't care if you two spend time together. Why should I? We aren't even friends!"
"Okay, okay." Raph raised his hands in surrender. "I'm going to bed. You should too by the looks of it. After my bike is finished, of course."
Donnie grunted.
"And Donnie?"
"Hm?"
"Who exactly are you trying to convince? Me or yourself?"
Donatello didn't have an answer.

Everything hurt. From the depths of her scaly toes, to her ferocious gaping mouth. What was she? She didn't know anymore. A monster? A freak? Any humanity she had left, was a clouded memory and there was no turning back. She struggled to move, still becoming accustomed to her new features. Four legs were harder to maneuver than two, but she made do.
She slivered across the murky water, pains in her stomach growling from lack of proper food. She couldn't recall the last time she had a warm meal. She lifted her head, silver grey eye slits opening. . In what she lost, her human form, her hair, and sense of a normal life- she had gained quite a few things too. A keen sense of smell, for one. Her eyesight had improved too. She had also gained an olive green tail, which helped with her balance.
'As long as I don't need those pesky glasses anymore.' She thought to herself bitterly.  Those horrid things were the cause of her harassment when she was a human. Now she would have the last laugh. They would cower in fear if they saw what she looked like now.
Her stomach grumbled again.
But yet...those turtles she encountered. So tasty looking...so delectable. They would satisfy her pain.
She stared at the mutant's reflection. It blinked when she blinked. It moved its tail when she flicked it.
This was her life now. She might as well make the most of being a monster.
She had work to do.

Matchup please. I am straight, female, 5,3. I have shoulder length brown hair, brown eyes and I wear glasses. I am shy and quiet at first and may come off as rude but the more I know a person the more I open up up. I am protective, sassy, emotionally guarded, stubborn, clumsy, tough, touch starved and introverted. I like the paranormal (even tho I am a skeptic), the 80s, superheros, videogames, horror movies, and true crime. I also like any punk, rock, metal or alternative band. I am a major bookworm, collector of anything, i do embroidery, baker and a self-taught SFX artist. I have an anger issue and I make stupid jokes at wrong times. I am a tomboy, farm kid, and have huge wander lust. (but only abandoned yards)
Thanks I appreciate it. :)
Hey🎀Thanks for the matchup request. I hope you got the turtle you were hoping for. And btw, you really do sound like someone who belongs to gryffindor❤🦁
I have two parts. The First is Why i matched you with your result and the Second is Random headcanons of both of you when together.
Tumblr media
I matched you with
LEONARDO
Tumblr media
Why i matched you with your result
Just like leo, you are shy and quiet at first meet and come off as someone who is rude and doesnt open up a lot, but thats wrong, you are just scared of people taking your advantage of your good nature. Leo too comes off as rude and he takes time to open up especially to new people bcus he is worried about his family and loved ones security.
Just like leo, you are protective and emotinally guarded. Leo is overprotective of his brothers and april. Being a leader, leo has learnt to shut off his emotions in order to carry out his duties more effectively.
You are stubborn, so is leo. We all saw his stubbornness in 2016 part when he was arguing with raph, so i think both of you will get to understand each other more.
Basically both of you are just birds of the same feather. Having so many mutual qualities, both of you just "get" each other. You will know the reason behind his actions while other(especially raph) may get confused by it.
The first time you guys met, something clicked between you two, neither did u initiate the convo first neither did he, but both of you were observing each others from a distant, and soon you figured out that you just met your soulmate.
You are touch starved just like him. He never showed his weakness to touch bcus he always had to maintain his strong fearless leader image. But deep deeeepp inside, he too wants to be cuddled on soft bed with light breeze flowing past and loose himself in a beautiful dream
Random headcanons of both of you when together.
When leo came to know that you love books and is a massive bookworm, his heart bursted with happiness!! He LOVED BOOKS TOO!! AND atlast he met someone who shares the same interests as him. Whenever he came to your house, he will bring his books and both of you will read each others fav books. Most of the times he will be borrowing your books and giving you his. Its like both of you opened a lil book lover club in your room.
When he came to know about you collection hobby, his curiosity peaked!. It was a very unique hobby and he loved uniqueness. He immediately asked you to show him all your collections. He asks you to tell everything about your collections and what made you collect it and how many you have collected. Sometimes when out on patrol, if he sees something related to your collections, he will buy it and give u as a surprise.
He too shares the love for paranormal and superheroes stuff like you. He suggested you to watch space heroes for the first time and honestly you didnt mind the show and actually liked it(quite to the other bros surpise) and soon became a fan of it. Leo's happiness knew no bound at that time.
Leo liked the classics, and he gladly watched 80s movies with you when in free time.
Though he is not a big fan of videogames but he soon found them interesting but never admitted that infront of his brothers(gotta carry the serious leader demeanor)
When you showed him your SFX skills, his mind was literally blown, for one whole minute he couldnt recognize you!!
He loves your embroidery works, they give him those woozy oozy romantic feeling. The first time you gave him a handkerchief with his name and a blue flower sewn on it, melted. He never used it and keep it in a secured place as its a treasure to him. Then on you give him lil embroidered things and his hearts knows so bounds.
He lowkey wanted to be a detective so he never misses an opportunity to watch true crimes with you. Both of you know who is the culprit at the same time!! (MENTAL SYNCHRONIZATION)
The lil things you bake for him is like nectar to him, he can almost imagine a domestic life with you. He will show off the cookies you gave him to eat during patrols to his bros, suddenly pizza wasnt his fav food anymore.
He loves nature as it give him peace, so wanderlust isnt a biggie for him.

family sticks together, bruh
Notes: I was re-watching the Bay-verse movies and suddenly got irritated at the no last name thing at the end of the second one. April O'Neil was right there. Their ride-or-die, their badass older sister, their hogosha. So here's my first contribution to the TMNT fandom. I literally wrote this in half a day, so if you see any writing errors all I gotta say is...my bad. Enjoy the found family fluff!
Rating: G
Also on AO3.
April figured it all started with a package hastily stuffed in her mailbox. It was barely small enough to fit, wrapped in that tough paper-cardboard material, and took a few careful pulls to get out. She couldn’t recall ordering anything recently, so the least she could do was try not to destroy what was most likely her neighbor’s mail. But when she flipped it over for the addressee, she was surprised to see “Mikey O’Neil” on it.
April and her “childhood pets” had been reunited four months back now, and it continued to throw her life upside down. A happy upside down, though. Those two names together were doing a number on the loner habits she’d built up since her father’s death. Apparently, all it took was four mutant teenagers and their father to start breaking down those walls.
She snapped a photo of the package and sent it to Mikey as she walked up to her apartment. Her phone lit up with a video chat request seconds later. The boys were just like any other teens when there weren’t bad guys to fight—they loved texting (on their one-of-a-kind turtle phones), sending her snaps, and video chatting whenever they could. April supposed that 15 years alone in a sewer could make one a little starved for new attention, and she was always happy to talk.
One of Mikey’s eyes filled the screen first, and then his grinning face when he pulled back. “You got it!” he hollered.
There was a thump from somewhere behind him, and Leo yelled something about peace and quiet when meditating. Then all she could see was a blurry carapace as Mikey quickly escaped to some other part of the lair. “You got it!” he cheered again, down to a whisper-yell.
“Sure did,” she answered with a smile, while making sure her apartment door locked behind her. “A little heads up would be nice, though. People do steal packages.”
“Man, that would’ve been no bueno. It has my name on it and everything.”
She shrugged—it was New York, what could she say. “About that… Mikey O’Neil, huh?”
He brightened. “Yeah! Makes sense, right? You’ve always been family even if we got separated for like, way too long, and who wouldn’t want to be a badass O’Neil?”
“Hm.” Her smile was fond even as she bit her lip to keep herself from doing something dramatic like tearing up. “You make some excellent points.”
Mikey nodded, seemingly proud of his reasoning. “You get me, April. So when are you gonna come hang out?”
“Not until tomorrow at least.” She set the phone on the counter as she turned to mess with the oven dials. “I’ve got to eat, and then a grimy bathroom and donation boxes are calling my name.”
Two weeks ago, a great aunt she hadn’t talked to since her father’s funeral had passed away and apparently left her succession rights to a New York miracle: a rent-controlled apartment above a quiet antique store. It was a dated unit and still smelled a bit like old people, but she was making it work.
A whine came from her phone. “Aw, shell… Oh, hey! We could help! Four mutants and a human are better than one!”
“That’s sweet, Mikey, but I’ve got this.” Plus, she was starting to pick up the brother’s dynamics. That visit would devolve into complete chaos in no time, given the cluttered mess. There were a lot of breakable objects she was still in the process of either packing up or donating.
“Your loss, Ape. Guess we’ll see you tomorrow.” He got up close to the camera again and whispered dramatically, “You’ll bring the package, right?”
She snorted and leaned over so he could see her face. “Pinky swear.”
“I don’t have a pinky, so I’ll have to believe you. Bye, April!”
The screen went blank, and April had a glimpse of herself in the reflection. She had to admit… her smile looked a lot more genuine these days.
In work news, however, life had been a lot of sucking up to Bernadette and the team after getting her job back, so she didn’t get down to the lair until late in the evening. Entering through the water system wasn’t exactly ideal, so they’d built a biometric, heavily enforced door as an alternative. Leo spotted her first as she shoved her way in and waved from where he was cleaning his katanas.
The new lair seemed to change every time she visited—more light-up signs or beat-up furniture appearing—and she still felt a little guilty for being the reason behind the move. The guys had assured her that they didn’t blame her, and they were having fun with the tall ceilings and tunnels in the new space. Splinter had even claimed one to start a bonsai garden.
“Hey, April! How was your day?” Leo called, carefully setting his weapons aside to get up.
“Not too bad, mostly research on some detox craze—”
“April!?” There was a crash from the back where they had set up a gym area in an upper opening. Mikey came tumbling out, almost right on top of where Raph was exiting the lower tunnel, and he gracefully avoided retaliation. “You got the goods?”
Leo shot her a confused frown, and she answered with a fond “don’t ask” look before rummaging in her bag to pull it out. “Yes, Mikey, I have the goods.”
Mikey bounced over and pulled her into a quick, bone-crushing hug before taking the package out of her hands. He ripped into it and pulled out a gaudy gold chain that looked like it once belonged in a 2000’s music video.
“Bling, bling!” he crowed and threw the shell necklace off to be replaced.
“Wait a minute, is that what was so important you had to order it?” Donnie said as he and Raph joined the group. “That’s such a waste of money!”
“Some ninja you are,” Raph snorted. “You can see that ugly-ass chain from a mile away.”
Leo hummed at that and then frowned. “Mikey, did you even ask April if you could send that to her place before you ordered it?”
Said turtle shrugged. “I knew she wouldn’t mind.”
The others seemed to erupt at once.
“Except it’s an unknown package being sent to her place, especially with the Foot Clan knowing her association with us—”
“Even worse, it’s inconsiderate to just assume—”
“Even worse, Leo? What kind of bullshit is that—”
April was an only child (well, not so much anymore), so she wasn’t used to how quickly one small thing could turn into a full blown argument. If pushing got involved, then 6-foot mutant turtles or not, she would break up that fight—yup, there’s the shoving.
“Guys, GUYS!” April moved forward and intercepted the beginning of whatever as they all avoided bumping into her. “It’s fine. You can have stuff sent to my place, I don’t care. As long as I can get it down here.”
It took a little more convincing to assure them that no, they were not imposing on her, and then they seemed excited about this new opportunity. Apparently, they’d had to scout out addresses before and sneak the package away before the occupants realized. Obviously, this was much more convenient.
Steadily, they all started to order stuff online (with what money or credit card she had no idea) and have it sent to her place. Parts for Donnie, books for Leo, and though she only felt it through the packaging, yarn for Raph. At first, Mikey was the only one who used O’Neil for the address. Then something changed, and they all started to use it too. A package of tea addressed to Splinter O’Neil gave her a small laugh one day. Raph had been the last to address himself as O’Neil, always so stubborn, and seemed almost shy when she delivered it.
April knew she was very biased on this, having seen them as teeny-tiny babies, but her little-big brothers could be pretty adorable sometimes.
---
The last name thing had come up with Splinter one day as they sat in his quiet bonsai garden, enjoying some tea while the boys burned off energy around the rest of the lair.
“I don’t want to overstep any boundaries or anything, but I’ll admit it’s… nice. My dad was really all I had for family, so it was just us and then me for so long. It’s almost like this has all… I don’t know, come full-circle? If that makes sense?”
Splinter smiled and reached out to lay his hand on hers.
“I was not lying when I said I modeled my parenting after your father. One way or another, you both cared for this family, and you know we consider you a part of it.” April nodded, a little choked up, and grasped his hand. He’d said it himself, but she wasn’t ready to fully relive how Splinter felt so familiar, so comforting.
“Besides,” he continued with a chuckle. “Michelangelo has quite enjoyed having a last name, and I think the others were a bit hesitant before they saw that you didn’t mind.”
“Of course not, I’m all for it,” April laughed, wiping under her eyes. “Now there’s more than just me to make the O’Neil name proud.”
---
One other thing she had discovered about being a big sister to four trouble-prone teens: full names were extremely effective.
“Donatello O’Neil!” she shouted the second she stepped into the lair, and all movement ceased. Leo balanced on one foot, mid-throw, Raph was mid-swing across the lair, and Mikey had an orange soda titled towards his face, where it slowly dripped down his front.
A weak “Oh, shell” came from the direction of the lab, and she stormed over. A taunt from Mikey followed but was quickly cut off with a grunt. Donnie was hunched over his desk, head turned slightly to look up at April’s furious approach.
“Why the hell did I just find a tracker in not one but all of my jackets?” She reached into her pocket, grasped the tiny devices, and tossed them on the desk. “I almost had a panic attack thinking I was being tracked by someone else. You know that’s been one of my worst fears ever since the Shredder, and we’ve talked about privacy and emergency plans, Donnie. I have a panic button on my phone, and I gave you permission to track it when absolutely necessary.” She let out a frustrated huff, pointing at the trackers. “What. Are. These?”
He’d sputtered a bit and avoided her eyes as she spoke, but he finally looked up when she stood silent, waiting for an answer. His shoulders drooped, and he wheeled back from his desk to face her. Even sitting, Donnie was only slightly shorter than her.
“Contingency plan,” he finally bit out. “Phones are most likely the first thing a kidnapper would get rid of to avoid tracking.”
“Wh— kidnapper?” That caught her off guard, and the tension in her shoulders released a little. Was there a new danger she didn’t know about? “But who… Oh.”
Movement on his tablet drew her eye, and the footage there followed a shady van that looked very familiar.
The Foot Clan—because an organization that big could still survive with their leader in jail for a year now—had disabled her turtle-approved security system and ransacked her apartment a couple of weeks ago. The cameras from across the street told them that and how the intruders had missed April coming home by a mere 12 minutes. They had obviously been searching for something specific, and she eventually realized it must have been the box of notes from Project Renaissance. Luckily, they had been stored in the lair for safe keeping.
After coming home to that mess, April called Donnie right away and started packing up her necessities. All four of the turtles had met her at her usual sewer entrance, and they formed a tense detail on the trip back. She worked out-of-office that week as she laid low in the lair and waited for the all-clear while they doubled up her apartment’s security. Splinter and the boys were good about giving her space when she was working, but she could still feel the hovering and worry. The guys had been in and out more often, Splinter always had some tea ready for her, and she just knew there had been many hushed conversations out of earshot.
Sure, deadly henchmen being in her apartment had freaked her out, but it had really freaked out her new family. April held her own against all of the weird shit they got dragged into, but there were always reminders that she did not have a shell or ninja training; a sprained ankle, one small concussion, too many bruises to remember, and even a few less inches of hair when it got singed in an explosion.
She looked between the tablet and Donnie, but now he held his gaze steady. “The Foot know where you live, and you refuse to move. This was the best way for us to always be there when you need us.” His voice was even, calculated, but his hands were clasped tightly and one foot tapped insistently.
Oh, her sweet, overprotective boys. Under all that bullet-proof shell, they were all just teenagers who had five people in the world to call family, and they did not take that for granted.
April sighed and turned to sit against the desk, holding out one hand. Donnie took it and held on, grip tight. “It comes from a good place, Donnie, but you have to tell me about these things. Trust goes both ways, okay?”
Leo, Raph, and Mikey were hovering around the entrance to the lab, and she gave them all a stern look to reiterate her point. “I know I don’t have a shell, but I am scrappy, stubborn, and awesome at running in heels.”
“Way better than the Jurassic World chick,” Mikey piped up, and Raph lightly punched his arm.
“You’re damn right,” April answered, smiling at his effort to lighten the mood. “So I appreciate the worry, guys, but you need to talk to me. I worry, too. You might forget, but you’re not invincible.”
“Better off than you,” Raph grunted. This time Mikey punched him, not as lightly. “What, it’s true!”
April sighed. “Come on, Raph, you know muscle isn’t everything.”
“No,” he grumbled, “but you got us. Whether or not you like it, we can take the hard hits.”
“What he means to say,” Leo said, shoving Raph back with his shoulder, “is that we were worried, and we didn’t think you were taking the threat seriously enough.” Donnie’s hand gripped hers a little harder, and she looked back to see him nod in agreement. “We are sorry about the secrecy, though.”
April sighed. “Fair point. You know I love you guys,” they perked up at that, “but having back-up is kind of a new thing for me. It’s habit to go solo, and it’s habit for you four to be a team.”
She held out her other hand. Leo was closest, and he took it with some hesitation. “Still a learning process all around.”
Mikey eagerly grasped Leo’s other hand and then Raph’s, refusing to let go even as Raph gave a shake, so they were all joined. “Family sticks together, bruh.”
---
The O’Neils had been a thing for awhile now, but writing it down was very different to actually saying it outloud. Mikey had no trouble claiming his new last name, and had even dubbed some pizza monstrosity he concocted from as many toppings he could get as the “O’Neil Special.” For the others, it took some time to say it—at least when she was around to hear.
Eight months. Donnie had been talking a mile a minute about a phone meeting set up with an award-winning engineer currently teaching at NYU. He’d been given 30 minutes to ask her all the questions he wanted. April had kind of bullied Vern into setting it up with his new connections, and Donnie had asked her to be there for moral support. She assured him it was all going to go great and to just make the call already. His shoulders went rigid under her hands when the call connected. “Hi! Hello, uh, this is Donatello O’Neil, I got your number from Vern? The Falcon?” She squeezed his shoulders in comfort, grinning proudly for many reasons.
One year and 2 months. Raph had been playing a one-on-one basketball game with Donnie while April refereed. Even as the self-proclaimed muscles, Raph was agile, and he did a quick maneuver around Donnie to score a perfect 3-pointer. “And Raph O’Neil makes the shot!” he whooped, doing a quick victory dance. He didn’t seem to realize it, but April certainly did. She felt warm and fuzzy after that, so she let him get away with traveling a couple minutes later.
For Leo, it just hadn’t come up yet. Although, one day she’d been stress cleaning their mess of a kitchen, and opened one beat-up book in curiosity to see “Leonardo O’Neil” neatly written on the cover page. That was enough for her.
Then her amazing family had finally gotten the acknowledgement they so rightly deserved.
“To you, brothers. Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo.” Chief Vincent paused. “Last name?”
The guys all glanced her way, and April didn’t care if her eyes were a little watery at Leo’s answer. “O’Neil.”

Headcanon of the 2003 turtles aside from Raphael reaction to (i already asked a scenario for him) dating someone who acts opposite of them but in a complimentary way?
Hi, hon! @nesting-dreams Before I talk about an s/o that's the complete opposite of the boys, maybe I should talk about what the boys are like...
Leonardo:
Calm, cool, and collected. Natural leader. He is confident and loving but dislikes excessive PDA. He would obviously go very well with someone who helpful and wise, but what about a bad b*tch? Your own leader.
His opposite s/o:
A complete baddie, b*tchhhh
loves fashion jewelry and horror movies
wants to be a model
loves anything with coffee. You're addicted
loves showing off, not modest at all
Neva caught lacking
you're a diva, a female hustler, a complete boss
he looks up to you completely, he thinks your amazing
doesn’t hurt that your sexy with a-Rockin' bod
totally into reality shows and online shopping
you love TikTok, you're definitely always making up dances with Mikey
you online shop on Leo’s lap while he meditates
you hate it when people are slow
or when someone doesn’t have a sense of humor
you also hate when Leo doesn’t make time for you
you hold him accountable because you make tons of time for him
you don’t mind PDA
Leo likes holding hands and when you grab his arm
makes him flex, you notice but don’t care
but he better be spreading you like butta when ya alone!
your first fight is because he’s late to a date
he makes it up by spending the night, bringing you flowers and coffee the next day, it was 3 Am. you still squealed and accepted
you both stay up on the roof looking over the twinkling city lights and talk about everything and anything
Raphael: (my baby!)
Strong, stubborn, loyal, and competitive. The muscle. Raph, of course, is the type that would go for someone who was just as competitive and strong-willed to be able to handle his own temper. But what if he falls in love with someone he can take of instead? helps him grow a tender heart.
His opposite s/o:
you are very shy
an introvert at best
you love books and a warm drink
you don’t like PDA, unlike Raph, because it makes you the center of attention
Raph respects it but warns you he can’t help himself sometimes
you both compromise and make PDA strictly SFW. Not sexual. At all
you're in school for journalism and you're writing a story based on the love between your and Raph.
you always let Raph semi lay on you while you read on the bed.
he also likes resting his head on your lap while you read and so do you
he falls asleep, daily naps
100% secret soft boi
he learns to work on his volume, he doesn’t have to be loud when it’s not necessary.
you always praise him when he does stop himself from yelling
you praise him during s*x too because it helps with his confidence.
you always read to him after a night that he rants about something happening with his family.
you always listen, you’re a great listener
you’re overprotective though
no one can boss your Red around
he loves that ^^ nickname
thanks to you he feels like he has someone to lean on that will relate or understand completely
the first fight happens because he yells at you when you first try helping him with his temper. Your hurt that he’d do the one thing that scares you
he apologizes and shows you his vulnerable side for the first time
you accept his apology and cuddle him all night
reading him to sleep and you fall asleep in his arms
Donatello: (dadddyyy)
Obviously smart, but also a smartass. Basically the genius. He doesn’t enjoy PDA of any sort but loves physical contact when alone. He doesn’t like violence or ignorance. Usually, Donnie would benefit from a Mary Sue or a mom! friend. But what if he has a more calming and optimistic friend?
your probably a hippie by definition, but except your not he tie-dye tree-hugging type
Your streetwise, a thick new york accent proves this.
You’re very strong, stubborn but loving
Donnie loves this about you
you're not confrontational but your defense is always up
you actually try to understand his analytical ass, your own words
your rough around the edges but meeting Donnie has helped you with that
you crave physical touch from your partner, so when your alone you take advantage of him
he doesn’t mind, you're extremely touchy and even go as far as sitting on his lap in the lab.
you lock the door because you know how he feels, but sometimes he likes seeing his brothers face when you're on his lap and they walk in.
your always in tight jeans and crop tops
it was obvious you had a perfect body, so he knew his brothers were a littleee jealous
no one could prepare Donnie for the body you were hiding in those jeans and god, did he ravish you that night.
you loved the long nights where he was too tired to take over in bed, you put your mouth to work...
He knew you enjoyed taking charge from time to time, he didn’t mind
you were a meme master
so Donnie had pretty much so many memes in his inbox
you're pretty funny and sarcastic too
“EW dude!! My mouth was open” your quick to play Mikey and “It’s always open”
Donnie likes how straight forward you are
first fight is because he was holding back in bed, you wanted to know everything he was into, all the freaky stuff
he complies and for the next week your a hot turned on mess but completely exhuasted
Michaelangelo:
Funny, laid back and hyper. The fun one! He loves PDA, literally doesn’t care where or how. He loves to cuddle and nap and his cartoons. Obviously, the youngest in the group would like to be with someone who would have the same chaotic energy as him or at least similar. But what happens if the baby in the group gets the mom energy he never got as a kid?
you're very sweet on Mikey
though you wished he’d slow down on the PDA
he’d hound you if he could, you always push him away, with a laugh
he loves to pepper kisses at you and hold you, grope you, hug you. basically suffocate you
you secretly love it
you always make sure he doesn’t get to close to the tv
he loves how whenever you go to the kitchen for something you bring him some
he loves having you on his lap while he plays. Keeps him warm
wants to marry you the first time you heat up pizza and bring him some while he’s gaming
you love when he falls asleep on you
you both cuddle when ever you can
you always make sure that before you leave, he’s eaten and taken a shower, so if he knocks on the couch you know he’s alright
when you sleep over he usually falls asleep first, your exhausted but always make sure that when he’s tuckered out you help him to his room and draw circles on his forehead and drag a warm, gentle finger down the bridge of his nose.
it puts him to sleep in a heartbeat
he actually calls you mom once, but you don’t mind, your friends have done it before
you tell him it’s alright because you know that you mother him
your first fight is because you overreact when he gets hurt trying to fight a villain with his board.
you apologize when he cries cause you yell at him, quickly admitting you were overreacting
you were worried and knew he was more responsible than that!
but you promised not to yell anymore if he promised to use his board during serious fights.
he promised and you put him to sleep with a good old massage on the forehead and tucked him in before giving his injuries the last look
Leo is always easy to write, and I love writing my bad boy all soft like but Donnie is really fun to write <3 but Mikey is proabably the hardest because of how I see him as my baby boy. But I like this pairing alot, mom kind of reader with Mikey’s overactive self lmao

Dating Mikey (2016) would include:
Tumblr media
You accidentally run into him late one night
You have headphones in and you’re not paying attention
It’s a bop after all
You stare wide eyed until he takes off faster than you could have ever though
“Wait!” You call to the empty street. “It’s okay,”
He’s skeptical that you’re so trusting at first, he doesn’t know what to do
He keeps you from his brothers, well Raph
You two end up spending a lot of nights on the rooftops listening to music and talking
You don’t really like rap music, it reminded you too much of your abusive older brother
Mikey was sad about that, but he understood
You two found a happy medium in alternative music
You’re so at peace when you listen to music. Sometimes you cry
It freaks Mikey out the first time, but he realizes that it’s just how you express extreme emotion
He looks for songs that you’d love but you are so stubborn about not listening to them
You can’t explain why it feels wrong to listen to music that way
You feel guilty and Mikey is disheartened
Which leads to more crying because you’re just a broken human who doesn’t function properly
Mikey pulls you into his arms and holds you, letting you cry it all out
he doesn’t push you on the subject anymore
You fall asleep in his arms. You feel safe and warm for once and you’re not alone
That’s the first night that Mikey takes you back to the Lair
His brothers are surprisingly cool with it
They’ve noticed how much happier he’s been and now they know why
Leo and Raph were a little skeptical at first
This is their younger brother and they want to protect him from heart break
But as soon as you wake up, in a strange new place, around new people, and you run to Mikey for protection and safety, they’re not so worried
Everyone knows that the two of you are in love, even if you don’t admit it to another
For weeks
It’s just pining at this point.
Que innuendos from Raph and lots of blushing on your part
Until one night Raphs words make you cry
Then all hell breaks loose as Mikey goes off on Raph for once
He won’t defend himself but he will do anything for you
“You didn’t have to do that.” You sniffle, patching Mikey up after
“Sure I did Angel, no one makes you cry.”
“You’ve made me cry,” You point out.
Mikey gives you a look
“No one hurts you on my watch.”
You smile and press a kiss to his cheek, thanking him
After that, you two get more affectionate towards each other, not afraid to be yourselves when the other is near
“You guys are like peas in a pod.”
“I think the word you’re looking for is weird”
You roll your eyes and lean back against Mikey ignoring his brothers
My god you guys are such nerds
Supernatural? Check. Doctor who? Check. Good omens? Check. Disney marathons? Check. Star Wars? Check.
Donnie even gets in on the Doctor Who marathons and has seen GO more than once through
And oh my god the cosplay you guys pull off
Leo shows you the wonderful word of Bonsai trees
you cry when you get your first one and name it Steve
Steve
You love Steve a lot. Mikey gets jealous
“It’s a plant”
“You give it more attention than you give me”
“Oh my god it’s a plant Mikey”
You still love Steve
You get Mikey a bonsai too
Together you name it Steve 2
Steve 2 dies before Steve
There’s a funeral
You cry and then laugh maniacally as you set Steve 2 on fire
Raph is slightly concerned and afraid of you at this point
“Wow, I’m Not Crazy” by AJR is your couple song forever and always
Mikey surprises you by taking you to an AJR concert
You sit in the rafters of course, he can’t be seen and you’re not one for large crowds
It’s a blast and you fall asleep on the way home in his arms
Waking up beside him becomes your favorite thing
He’s just so warm and comforting
He still struggles with what he is
You have plenty of time to adore him and who he is until that fades
You respect that not every day is a good day for him
As he does for you
He makes you feel beautiful and you make him feel human
“I love you,” slips from your lips one night
You’re on the rooftops under the stars on the edge of sleep
Mikey isn’t sure that he heard you right so he asks you if you meant it.
“Of course I mean that. I never felt what I feel when I’m around you. For the first time in my life I get to be me. How could I not love you?”
This time Mikey cries
Until you’re both crying and mumbling how you love each other
Which makes you both laugh at how dramatic you two are being
“I love you too.”
There’s a safety in the knowledge that you love each other
You don’t feel so alone anymore
Mikey loves to spoil you with soft things
You love soft things
Blankets, pillows, plushes, socks, sweaters anything he can find really
Your shared bed is more of a nest
You’re very particular about where things go in said nest and will raise hell if someone screws with it
Raph made that mistake once and only once
You worry for Mikey when he goes out on patrol but you know he has to
You don’t like him in danger
You need him like you need air
Splinter knows your concerned and tries to keep you busy or comfort you
Spending time with Splinter becomes one of your favorite pastimes
He reminds you of your grandfather who died a few years ago
Sometimes it makes you cry, but there’s always soft words and comfort with the tears
You bake a lot with Mikey, learning new recipes and indulging your love of sweets
Macaroons are your favorite you’d kill for a matcha macaroon
Most of the time Mikey just watches and keeps his hands at your waist while you work
You sit in his lap while he games, after given up trying to learn yourself
You can play Mario kart but that’s about it
Most times if you get too fidgety in his lap Mikey will put the games down and spend time with you
You love napping together. It’s a safe haven for you both
It’s years, and Mikey finally asks you to marry him
You cry and nod, hugging him tight, not wanting to let go
You’ve always wanted a forever and now you had it
Sheesh these are long. Anyone I hope you liked it! I’ll put Donnie up tomorrow (later today? It’s one am...). Anyway love you guys and my boys.

RotTMNT/Baron Jitsu fanfiction: Dating… With Children - Chapter Ten
(Also on AO3 if you want to leave a comment or kudos)
Plot:  Benjamin Draxum hardly considered himself a man of high social standing. Not because he was uncouth or unworthy of it, mind you, but simply because he didn’t have much of a social life. Hard to have one when he usually spent his days at work, cooped up in a lab for so long that he often had his lunches in there, and his nights at home reading or doing research for more personal projects. But perhaps meeting handsome semi-retired movie star - as well as his four young sons - could change all that…
((Last of the updates for probably a while, unless I get hit with another bolt of inspiration. Again, hope you all enjoyed! ^v^))
As reluctant as he was to do so, Draxum was man enough to admit that as he stared down the multiple aisles of toys that he was completely and utterly at a loss.
He had meant to buy a present in the days leading up to the actual event, he really had. But online research in-between doing the research he was actually getting paid to do proved fruitless. There were plenty of suggestions and advertisements, but most of the toys and products brought to his attention either didn’t fit at all or just didn’t seem like a good enough gift.
And so, here he was. In the middle of Gilbert’s toy section, mere hours before the actual event, still trying to answer the question of what a seven-going-on-eight year old boy would want for his birthday.
“When I was a kid, I was always the most satisfied when I just got cash,” he mumbled to himself. But cash for a child’s birthday gift would just be tacky, as would a gift card. He tried to think back on what he liked as a kid, and briefly remembered a few science-related toys he had enjoyed fiddling with, but that seemed more like a Donatello gift than a Raphael one. There really wasn’t anything worse than getting a gift that you didn’t just dislike, but was clearly meant for someone else. Draxum had learned that at a young age during an elementary school gift exchange where he had gotten a jewelry making kit that had been meant for the friend of the student who had bought it, not knowing the exchange was supposed to be random.
At the very least, Draxum was confident enough that he wouldn’t make a mistake like that. He had a pretty good grasp on what Raph liked… and that was the problem.
Most of the wrestling and superhero and ninja figures that lined the action figure aisle were the same toys that he had seen in Raph’s room. Stuffed bears had a similar problem, and even if he was sure Raph wouldn’t mind another bear friend, he also knew that at that age gifts were only really exciting if they were something you DIDN’T already have, and something that was instead truly surprising.
Moving past the dolls and the pool toys that had been put on clearance, as well as a huge display of new Mrs. Cuddles plushies (definitely a bad idea, if Raph’s reactions to her commercials were anything to go by), Draxum then entered the board game and activities aisle. He had been lucky when Trivial Pursuit Family ended up being a good purchase, but wasn’t sure if there was a board game that would appeal specifically to Raph. There were also more interesting things like ‘Make Your Own Fossil’ kits, bead art, Shrinky Dinks and other similar crafts.
“Too bad he isn’t as into arts and crafts as his brother,” Draxum mumbled. Though, Raph DID like to knit… But a bundle of yarn wasn’t exactly an exciting gift either. It was a bonus “just thought I’d pick this up for you too” gift, at best. With a sigh, he decided to give the Lego aisle a try - and that’s when he saw it almost hidden away as it sat on the top shelf.
Funnily enough, he remembered seeing the game in stores when he was a child, though he was sure it wasn’t the original toy even if it was incredibly similar. Just by looking at it, Draxum could tell that it would at the very least peak Raph’s interest. It was inexpensive but not cheap, a surprise definitely yet not a total shot in the dark pertaining to whether or not Raph would like it. “It’s probably as close to a ‘perfect’ gift as I can get,” he admitted. So he picked up the box and headed towards the gift bags…
He ended up being the second guest to arrive to the small party, just a few minutes after April and her family. “You must be Ben,” April’s mother said as she and her husband shook his hand, immediately recognizing the man from both her neighbor’s and her daughter’s description of him, “Pleasure to meet you.”
“Likewise,” Draxum nodded, a bit stiff and professional though thankfully not standoffish. He did loosen up a bit however when Raph nearly knocked him over with a hug.
“You came!” Raph grinned, just as happy as he had been several days ago when his father first offered his boyfriend the invite. Truth be told, even Raph could tell that Draxum wasn’t much of a party guy - not like his pop, who always insisted on celebrating things whether it be in a big or small way. But the doctor had become such a big part of his life lately that it would’ve been weird and kind of sad to not have him there to celebrate with them.
Draxum seemed to share the sentiment, placing a gentle hand on the boy’s head and patting his long and curly hair. “I did. Happy birthday, Raphael.” Raph smiled, thanking him before excusing himself, wanting to get back to his brothers and friend. Having seen the whole scene, April’s parents shared a look before nodding in approval. Really, it was no surprise that their neighbor who had been single for as long as he had lived on their street had ended up choosing someone like Draxum.
The final guest arrived just a few minutes later, her parents unable to stay and instead just dropping her off. Draxum couldn’t help but stare at the pair as they stood in Lou’s doorway, the two men nearly complete opposites. One of them was huge, practically towering over Lou and his own family, with a firm brow and wearing a casual, light purple tank top and shorts. The other man was much smaller and thinner in stature, his sharp eyes framed with crows feet and dressed in a very nice sweater-vest and khakis combo.
Their daughter stood out just as much, looking about as old as April, wearing a black and purple jumper with hair so short that it had nearly been shaved off and face as serious as a nine year old could be. Though, as her fathers brought her into a hug, giving her plenty of quiet “We love you”s and “Have fun”s, her expression did soften just a little. And, once April took her hand and the boys gladly welcomed her, she even managed to smile.
“That’s Yuu. She’s a new friend from school,” Lou explained as he handed Draxum a cup of juice, “and a new student in general, having been homeschooled until this year. From what I have heard, she’s a bit of a loner. ...And apparently VERY intense when it comes to games in gym.”
“Well, it looks like she’s found her group now,” Draxum commented as he watched a grinning Yuu, who had teamed up with Mikey and was currently chasing after a laughing Leo and April with toy swords.
Lou smiled, nodding. “Yep, I think she has.” This was her first time over, but Lou was already certain that it wouldn’t be her last.
After about an hour of free play for the kids and socializing for the adults, Lou gathered all the guests up for party games. It was typical kids’ party stuff with musical chairs, duck-duck-goose and limbo. It was mostly for the kids, though each adult guest got dragged into at least one round, leading to plenty of laughs for everyone. (The O’Neils turned out to be very skilled limbo players, and Lou practically falling into Draxum’s lap as they both tried for the same musical chair had definitely been one of the most memorable moments.)
But the best game had definitely been saved for last, and all it took was Lou saying that it was time to go outside for the kids to all run to the backyard, where a big and round piñata with pictures of the various New York League wrestlers was already hung.
“You guys can go first,” Raph said, passing the bat to his youngest brother while the adults stood back to watch. He knew very well how strong he could be, and as much as he wanted to bash open the thing, he also wanted everyone else to get a turn.
Mikey tried to hit it as hard as he could, but to no avail. He pouted and passed the bat to Leo, who also couldn't manage to damage the piñata despite his efforts. Neither could Donnie, surprisingly. Not even April could manage to dent the thing, and by this point all the kids were starting to get more than a little frustrated.
“Geez, did you make it with super glue?” Draxum asked.
“Hey, I just bought it at a normal party store!” Lou insisted. Who would've thought a ten dollar piñata would be so tough. “Hmph, if they can't get open soon, I may just have to go over there and Hot Soup it open myself just so they can get the candy.”
“...That's not a verb, Lou.”
“It is the way I use it.”
Yuu took the bat now, screaming the mightiest battle cry she could muster as hit her ‘foe’. And, much to everyone’s delight, it actually cracked some, a huge dent now in it’s side. Yuu grinned at her victory, and passed the bat onto an awaiting Raph.
“Come on, big brother,” he heard Donnie say, “Finish it off!”
The other kids, as well as his father, joined in. “Yeah!” “Do it, Raphie, do it!” “You got this, Raph!” “Just one good hit, son, come on!”
Gripping the handle tightly, Raph prepared to swing. “Hot SOUP!” He yelled as he whacked the stubborn thing, resulting in a candy explosion that was so spectacular that even Draxum had to clap at it.
“Ha, that’s my boy!” Lou cheered over the candy free-for-all. He nudged Draxum slightly. “See, told you it was a verb.”
“Well, it is in this family, at least,” Draxum chuckled.
Once the candy and piñata bits (which everyone gladly let Mikey have for whatever future art project he had in mind) were cleaned up, it was back inside for presents and then cake. As was tradition in their household, everyone sat in a circle with Raph taking the spot next to the small pile of presents, all of which were wrapped or in a bag with the exception of one that instead had Chinese shipping labels on it.
“I know what this is!” Raph grinned, opening the box. He held up the various Chinese candies within for everyone to see. “Thanks, Auntie Shen!” He shouted, not caring if his aunt could actually hear him or not.
The next few presents were just as well received. A basketball from April to replace the one they had lost, some Teddy Bear Town accessories for his bears from Leo (courtesy of the small allowance his father had given him for the occasion), a VERY sparkly and colorful card from Mikey, a small homemade music box from Donnie, and a couple small ninja action figures from Yuu. Of course, Raph gave everyone plenty of thanks and hugs for their gifts.
Finally, Raph grabbed Draxum’s bag, and the scientist held his breath as he took the box out of it. “...Rock em’ sock em’ robots?” Raph read, looking curiously at the stylized pictures on the box before glancing up at Draxum.
“It's a game,” Draxum explained, not too surprised that Raph had never seen it before, “Each player takes control of a robot, and they fight to try and knock the other’s head off.”
“Whoaaa, really?” And now what he knew what it was, the birthday boy didn't hesitate to open it up. Sure enough, there was a small plastic boxing ring and two different colored plastic robots that were ready to knock each other's block off. “Awesome!” Raph smiled as he pressed a button, getting the red robot to throw a punch.
“Hey, I wanna try!” Leo said, already grabbing the controls for the blue robot.
“Me too!” Mikey shouted at the same time that Yuu insisted, “I also wanna challenge you!”
Within a few rounds, it ended up becoming somewhat of a robot rumble tournament, with several fights happening back-to-back with each new challenger going up against the winner of the previous round. Some of the kids even started putting up bets on who would win using some of their piñata candy, though it was still exciting no matter who won. It ended up taking the announcement of cake to finally drag them all away from the plastic ring.
By that time, Draxum was starting to feel a strong headache coming on thanks to all the shouting and excitement from his gift. “Maybe it was too perfect of a gift,” he mumbled to himself.
Still, he didn't want his oncoming bad mood to spoil Raph’s day, so Draxu, simply excused himself and went outside for some fresh air and quiet. Of course, it didn't take long for his boyfriend to join him, two pieces of red velvet cake in his hands.
“Hey, handsome,” he said, handing him a slice, “Everything alright?”
Draxum nodded, silently thanking him for the dessert with a soft kiss on his temple. “I'm fine, just a headache.”
“Ah, yeah,” Lou nodded, slouching a little himself as he reveled in the near silent backyard. “Kids parties can be fun, but they can be pretty rough too. If you need to leave, you can.”
“I’ll be fine,” Draxum told him, “I just needed a break is all, but thank you.” He glanced back towards the old house, and through the window saw Raph and the others race back to the living room, their sugar-spiked energy returned and their thumbs ready for more robot action. A small smile returned to Draxum’s lips.
Lou took a couple bites of his cake before speaking again. “Looks like your gift is the fan favorite.”
“Honestly I wasn't even sure if he would like whatever I got him,” Draxum admitted, picking up his own fork, “I didn't know what to get, and I ended up finding it by chance.”
Lou hummed. “You could've just texted me for gift suggestions.”
“I know,” Draxum said simply, letting the silent subtext behind his words speak for themselves. Lou smiled, shaking his head slightly. Of course Draxum would want to do it on his own, but while a bit unnecessary, it was also still sweet.
“Though, I didn't see any gifts from you,” Draxum continued, “Let me guess, you already gave him one of those big closet-reveal surprise presents?” Leave it to Lou to turn giving a present into a bit of a show.
“Oh, no no, I just took him to the toy store in Times Square after his birthday breakfast to pick out his own present.”
Draxum stood there for several seconds before finally uttering a perfectly flat, “What.”
Lou shrugged, taking another sweet bite before continuing. “I still try to surprise them with their Santa presents, keep the ‘holiday magic’ alive and all that, but birthday presents? I just let them pick it out for themselves. From what I can tell, they seem to like doing it that way. Makes them feel more grown up that they actually get to choose, and it certainly makes things easier for me.” When he noticed Draxum still giving him a flat look, Lou just gave him a “What?”
“Oh nothing, nothing,” Draxum all but sighed as he went to finally take a bite of his cake, “Just don’t be surprised if I use that strategy the next time I don’t know what to get your kids.”
((I love Recruit and her foot clan dads so much, I just HAD to put them in this universe. Anyway *points at Lt. and Brute* When I say underrated, you say ship! UNDERRATED! Lol. And yes, until we get her official name reveal, I am pretty much basing Recruit's name off that one "Hello, you" line from Brute in Hot Soup: The Game. It's silly but it's still better than calling her Karai imo....Also, Andy Suriano actually posted a sketch of Foot Lt. in a sweater vest on his instagram and I just... I need that to be canon. I need it. But for now, I'll settle for him wearing it in this universe, lol.))

biography
i. — ‹ ( if there were two guarantees in edward’s life from the very start they were that 1. finding success and upholding his parents’ precious reputation was his only option, and 2. he would not receive the privilege of finding happiness for himself. his family was far from a perfect match for the young boy. his pulse always seemed to race a little faster, his room would get a little messier, and his mind would wander a little farther. still, however, they were nothing if not persistent and by the end of his childhood edward had inherited their overbearing sense of pride. they hardly deserved to be as proud as they were. an affluent and well known family for their little corner of vermont but hardly much to write home about when contrasted against the mega rich only a state away. still, they had enough money to wear their wealth on their sleeves, occupying the largest ( and gaudiest ) home in town and speeding around in luxury cars. his father’s income was enough to support their lifestyle, which allowed his mother to focus on developing a prominent reputation within the community. ).
ii. — ‹ ( when he tells people off his childhood he paints it in a warm light, the good money american dream of scorching summer days by the lake and cozy vermont winters in the ski chalets. in reality, if his childhood was anything it was cold. neither of his parents left much time for their only son, and they spared even less time for each other. whenever possible his mother would head to a warmer climate to vacation and his father would jet off on whatever business trips he could. the times that they were together the pair would alternate between icy silence and fiery arguments. the final blow to their marriage came in edward’s sixteenth year while he was away at boarding school, his mother caught his father with another woman and all hell broke loose. it was a messy divorce that left edward in the crossfire. all in all his parents left him with a pessimistic idea of love and marriage, if he even believed in it at all. one of the major roots of his commitment issues is his fear that he is his father’s son. as it turns out his father had never been a faithful man and edward has simply accepted as fact that the streak of infidelity would continue in him. it seemed easier to accept it at that than to try at love and fail. failure, after all, goes against everything that edward stands for. ).
iii. — ‹ ( when he reached high school, edward was swiftly sent away from his parents home to whatever prestigious boarding schools they could stick him in for the colder months. the schools quickly became harder and harder to find, however, as this was when edward developed his tendency towards debauchery. being surrounded by nothing but other privileged youth he quickly discovered that the perfect mixture of confidence, brashness, and general disregard for the rules, could instantly earn him all the love and attention he lacked in his childhood. he mastered the art of charming the pants off of just about everyone. unfortunately, many schools didn’t much care for his antics and by his senior year, he had thoroughly exhausted almost all the institutions on the eastern seaboard. despite his rambunctious nature and tendency to be expelled, he was still quite successful in his academic pursuits. his charisma, well learned manners, and intelligence earned him the favour of many professors, and he graduated with high grades and a long list of references. outside of academics he always earned himself a place on the lacrosse and ski teams to make friends, as well as the debate team to make enemies. high school was also when he began to establish a long line of meaningless flings and broken hearts. he craved the attention and had more than enough confidence and charm to get it, but he would bolt before things could become serious. he always wanted more. his pride made it impossible to see anyone as worthy of him, his stubbornness made it so he could never see eye to eye with anyone, and his cynicism made him doubt that love was even possible at all. above all, loneliness had always been the dominant factor in his life, and to abandon that was terrifying. ).
iv. — ‹ ( after a gap year spent flitting around europe without purpose ( during which he came dangerously close to destroying himself as well as his liver ), edward found himself studying commerce at columbia. he instantly took to the city. it felt like for the first time in his life everything around him was alive with opportunity. to him it was a place to prove himself, and more than anything he wanted to be part of the upper crust of new york society. when he sets his mind to something edward is nothing if not determined. his act was cleaned up overnight. while he didn’t abandon his hedonistic ways, he relegated them to part of his life where they couldn’t interfere with his upward trajectory. late nights spent making and losing memories in the city were met with hot coffee and hard work in the mornings. with his revelry all compacted into short bursts it became even more volatile. his penchant for self destruction became a general disregard for his own life, and there wasn’t a stunt edward wouldn’t pull for the admiration of others. yet contrasting this completely his daytime in university was spent buttering up professors, joining the best societies, and working the most prestigious internships. by the end of the four years his life was falling into place, and everything was ready for success. ).
v. — ‹ ( things can never really work out for edward though, it’s practically a fact to him by now. just six months before his graduation his father became the centre of a hefty fraud case. not only did he have to deal with his family money being wiped out and his father receiving a jail sentence, the fallout of the scandal seeped into all elements of his life. his career path was hugely derailed. any family connections he had were wiped clean, and the ones he had built up on his own quickly started to disappear as word got out of what had happened. potential employers only had to do a quick google search of his name to discover the familial connection. it took several years for him to build up his credibility and get his life back on track. although he’s now finding success, the murky waters he started out in are not something he’ll easily forget. as for his father, while it isn’t exactly something he can keep a secret, those who know edward know to never bring the man up around him. it’s rare that he’ll confide in anyone about it, even raphael knows only what he can learn from others. he visits the penitentiary once a year on his father’s birthday, and always makes up a lie for why he’s going out of town. ).
vi.  — ‹ ( most of the time edward feels like he’s just waiting for the other shoe to drop. things are going smoothly career wise, he’s shockingly happy being monogamous with raphael, and he feels secure in his friend group. it all seems too good to be true, or too good to be true for edward at least.  there’s a darkness in edward, and so far as he can tell it always manages to soak up every bit of good in his life. he worries that by letting people close to him they’re just going to get caught in the crossfire. he’s at a precipice in his life and it can go one of two ways. he can either shape up and settle down, creating the life he’s always needed and never thought he can have, or he can continue down the path of self destruction, walking right into the life he always feared but didn’t know how to escape. ).
vii. — ‹ ( he’s always been extremely loyal with those he considers his closest friends and that certainly isn’t changing anytime soon, especially with nico. while from an outside perspective edward may seem like a pushy and inconsiderate friend, the reality is far different. while he lacks commitment romantically with friends when he really, truly believes that someone cares about him he returns that commitment tenfold. still, he finds it hard to believe that someone would stick around with him for so long. as for lucy, he values her and fears her in equal measure. he’s certain that she has the ability to turn everyone against him in one fell swoop if she wanted to, and she wouldn’t exactly be without her reasons. she sees right through him, in fact, he’s pretty sure she knows him better than he knows himself, which is quite terrifying for someone who doesn’t like for their true self to be known at all. at the same time, it makes her an easy person to turn to when things get rough. the sting of sophia’s rejection still burns him more than he liked to admit. he likes to get what he wants, and it was more than a bit shocking for the rug to get pulled out from under him like that. he can’t help but feel like its confirmation that there really is something wrong with him, and he feels a pang of insecurity every time she walks into the room. the good thing to come out of the mess with sophia is raphael. he still can’t believe it’s real, and having the same person to fall asleep to every night is actually helping a lot with his insomnia. once he felt secure with raph ( something he’s never found in a romantic relationship before ) he went all in. but he’s had his bad boy behaviour on pause for a while now and he isn’t sure how much longer he can keep it up. he just expects to fail, he’s sure he’ll slip up and ruin it sometime soon. he uses that certainty in his shortcomings like a crux so that when he does blow things up he can say he saw it coming all along. still, he wishes that raphael would just realize the mess he’s gotten himself into and run for the hills now, because edward is getting more and more attached every day. he’s even starting to see a future with raph, and the hope that stirs in his chest makes him feel a little sick. ).
