If you like a book, say something
A reader messaged me early this morning to say that they were excited because they got the "Your package is ten stops away" message from Amazon, and they were ready to dive into my book as soon as it hit their porch. I've had a smile on my face all morning thanks to them.
If you like a writer's work, say something, especially if they're indie or self-pub. You'll probably make their whole day.

It makes my heart full, seeing all the booktok trends and such going around these last few years. I was really worried that reading books would be lost on the newer generations of kids but I’m glad we can show them reading is cool :)

Reading for the sake of it!!!
Tumblr media
To my fellow readers,
Read for the joy of reading. Reading books is not a competition. You’re not a bad reader if you haven’t finished as many books as your favorite Booktoker this year. You’re not missing out just because you haven’t explored certain genres.
It’s okay to stop reading a book — maybe the writing doesn’t click, maybe it’s too heavy for your current mood, or maybe it’s just not the right time (like trying to read a dense nonfiction book at night). That’s valid.
It’s also okay to download PDFs if buying books isn’t an option. Borrowing from libraries is perfectly fine. And no — reading in English isn’t a requirement. You don’t have to read what's trending on BookTok. Read in your native language. Read in the language you're learning. Read what speaks to you.
Please, remind yourself why you read. Make a list of those reasons. Here are some of mine:
I read because... – I can escape into other lives, feel what others feel, and experience stories I’ll never live in real life. – I want to feel less alone in my pain, questions, and quiet thoughts. Books remind me I’m not the only one. –  Sometimes I fall in love with a person in a book — someone I’ve never met, but could become. And sometimes, I meet someone I never want to be. – Sometimes I read a line that feels like it was written just for me — because it gives words to a feeling I couldn’t express, or gently points out a flaw I didn’t know I had. – I love replaying favorite scenes or imagining alternate endings in my head. – Sometimes I finish a book and don’t want to start another right away — because I want to stay in that world a little longer.
And there are more reasons I haven’t even found words for yet.So — what are your reasons for reading? I’d love to know. 😊

Why did I have to love to torment myself? Just finished Onyx Storm and what a cliff hanger. Speaks volumes for an author to keep readers coming back begging for more. Can't wait until the next book in the series.

📚 Day 14: Books 📚
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orlando Penn just started to study history at a university near his hometown. He is endlessly fascinated by the way people lived in the past and the fact that some of them had a big impact on the whole world. Orlando likes to bring dozens of books from the library to his dorm and spends all his free time devouring them. Right now, he's reading about the alcohol consumption in the Middle Ages.
Thanks to all cc-creators ♡ They are really talented!

…you know those kinds of books where you’re just sucked into them and stays in for days . Books that are written in such a way that it truly feels like you’re there, walking down the streets, feeling the wind in your hair and feel the taste of the warm buns from the marketplace. Those kinds of books one can keep on reading forever and ever…you know those…
