First Meetings with Megumi Fushiguro
FEATURING Megumi Fushiguro x Reader
SUMMARY Megumi meeting your daughter for the first time
CONTENT WARNINGS pregnancy trope, vague mentions of childhood truama, nervous/scared megumi, cuteness, descriptions of facial features (on the baby).
AUTHORS NOTE It's been too long since I wrote my cute little grumpy guy, feast my loves!
SERIES MASTERLIST
The room felt suffocatingly hot, over a million degrees by your calculations, but you had only just given birth, so you figured you weren't the best judge of temperature considering the layer of sweat that clung to your skin. Once you finally willed your tired eyes open, you were met with the soft, golden glow of the afternoon sun as it peeked through the half-drawn curtains. The quiet hum of machines filled the space once your ears stopped ringing, an occasional fuss or crinkle from hospital bed sheets seeping through. Your entire body felt like it was on fire from the waist down if you excluded the sharp sting of sore ab muscles and you could feel the crushing weight of exhaustion from hours of labor pushing you deeper and deeper into the thin mattress.
Yet none of it mattered, it barely registered as you stared in awe at the tiny bundle cradled in one of the nurse's arms. They had yet to clean her up much, really, still covered in blood and various other fluids, but they had wiped her face quickly with a different blanket than the soft pink one she was wrapped in now.
Noticing the lack of movement from the nurse as she looked toward the window, you followed her gaze and quickly noticed why. There Megumi stood, his back rigid and hands shoved deep into his pockets. He hadn't said much since birth, come to think of it, he hadn't said much since you arrived at the hospital, just stoically holding your hand as you screamed and ran his fingers through his hair in a panic. You could practically see the tension radiating off of him in waves-- from the slight bounce in his heel to the way his fingers played with the fabric of his pockets.
"Gumi," you called softly, your voice hoarse, cracking slightly, but still full of warmth.
He turned immediately, shifting his almost fearful expression from the nurse to you, his gorgeous, dark eyes catching yours. The moment stretched as he stared, his eyes letting go of the flicker of mania to a gentler, softer look at seeing your face, seemingly reassured that you were okay.
"You get to hold her first, remember? Like we talked about?" you murmured, motioning to the nurse with a shaky hand who had moved closer to Megumi while he had been distracted, treating him almost as if he was a cornered animal.
His eyes widened slightly, and for a moment, you could see where the nurse was coming from. His expression was almost comparable to the fidgety, grumpy teenager you had met all those years ago. "Me?" he asked after a long stretch of silence, his voice a fearful whisper.
"Yeah, honey, you wrote it in the birth plan, hm?" you coaxed, "took you a lot of convincing and feet rubs to pull it out of me." A smile pulled at your lips despite your exhaustion. Megumi had been weirdly adamant about wanting to be the first to hold her since you both agreed to start trying for a child and you were still unsure as to why, but if that was the one thing he wanted, you weren't going to deny him. "C'mon, Megs. She's waiting for her dad."
He hesitated, glancing at the nurse and then back at you, his fingers flexing nervously as he tried to hide the slight tremble in his fingers before he let out a deep breath and finally stepped closer.
The nurse handed him the baby with a gentle, understanding smile, softly guiding his hands to support her tiny head and body. Megumi froze for a moment, arms locked awkwardly outward as soon as the weight of your daughter settled into him, his breath catching audibly. Your girl fussed for a moment, uncomfortable with his unsteady, rigid grip and you watched as Megumi slowly, gently reeled her closer to his chest. It looked so smooth, so inevitable-- like a wave crashing upon the shore.
"She's so... small," he said quietly, and you knew he was trying to hide the emotional crack in his words as his heart swelled ten times in his chest, eyes swirling with wonder and fear.
Megumi gently adjusted her then, his trembling arms ever so slowly steadying as he stared at her face, his eyes, dark and wide, were drinking in every small detail they could find. From the tiny freckle in the corner of her eye to the plump swoop of her lips, her strikingly similar eyes to yours to the black of her small tuft of hair, and finally her sweet button nose to the gentle rise and fall of her chest. Alive.
For a moment, you watched as Megumi lost himself in thought. His brows furrowed, a spark of something unspoken passed over his face and that's when you knew. When you realized why he had been so adamant about holding her first. It was the final nail in the coffin of his child, an ache in his chest that he no longer wanted to carry into his daughter's life, something he seemingly needed to let go if he were ever to be a good father. You knew he was wrong, that Megumi could never, ever repeat past mistakes made by his own parents, but you let him have his moment. You let him feel his pride at overcoming the weight of everything he had endured and then you let in settle in the disbelief that he could have something so gentle and pure in his arms.
"She looks like you," he breathed, finally, his voice weighed down by the thick emotion in his throat and then he glanced up at you, his lips twitching into that beautiful, shy smile you had fallen in love with. "Thank God."
You couldn't help but laugh, tears falling down your red cheeks, "You both have that same freckle by your eye," you smile, reaching out a shaky hand to gently caress his arm.
Megumi shifted closer to you, his gaze falling back to your daughter as his thumb traced mindless circles on her blanket. "Hello," he whispered awkwardly, "I'm.. I'm your dad."
You felt your heart swell at the sight of him, this usually stoic man who now looked utterly unguarded. His dark hair fell into his eyes as he bent closer to her, his expression tender in a way you’d rarely seen.
“I promise…” he began, his voice barely audible. “I promise I’ll protect you. No matter what.”
Your tears finally spilled over, and you reached up to wipe them away. “Megumi,” you choked out, your heart bursting with love for both him and your daughter.
He glanced at you, his eyes shining. Without a word, he leaned forward and pressed a soft, hesitant kiss to your forehead. Then, as if she sensed the moment, your daughter let out a small, sleepy sigh, her tiny lips curling slightly.
“She’s perfect,” he whispered, his voice trembling.
You nodded, resting your head against his shoulder as the three of you sat there, wrapped in the warmth of the moment. For the first time in a long while, everything felt right.
As your daughter’s breathing grew slower, her little body curling into Megumi’s chest, he finally let out a shaky breath, his shoulders relaxing.
“I never thought…” he began, then stopped, shaking his head. His voice was quieter when he continued. “I never thought I’d have something this good.”
You reached up, brushing a hand through his hair. “You deserve this, Megumi. We both do.”
The room grew still, the soft sounds of her breathing the only thing breaking the silence. In that moment, nothing else mattered—no fears, no past, no uncertainties about the future. It was just the three of you, a new family, basking in a love so profound it left you both speechless.

i love your writing so much thank you for feeding us!!! do you think you’d ever write for ultra magnus/minimus? feel free to ignore this if not!

The Conversation
Ultra Magnus x Reader
• How many is that now? Servos drumming on his desk, he grimaces. Five counting Swerve’s find the day before. That one had to have appeared after Rodimus and Megatron had destroyed the machine. Brainstorm’s only response had been to wave his hand and mutter about lingering temporal effects. Which is complete lunacy. Science has rules, it must. Whatever Brainstorm had done isn’t following them, though.
• Leaning out from the ladder, you stretch an arm out and your fingertips can just barely brush the top of the book. Tipping it and lunging to catch it before it can fall to the floor below, you feel foot slipping on the ladder rung as you reel back and bang back into it, feet scrambling until your footing is secure again with the book clutched to your chest. And heart racing, your stomach drops. It’s not like you haven’t fell before, but this is different. Cold sweat breaking out all over your skin, your head feels like it’s splitting open. You can’t hold onto the ladder, can’t feel your fingers at all as your vision goes gray at the edges and pain hammers you.
• There’s a feeling like a shift in air pressure that prickles over him. Bringing his head up in time to see the small form just materialize in the air. Reaching without thinking as that limp form begins to fall and he catches you. Another one? Venting raggedly at how warm and still you are in his palm, he reaches out a servo of his other hand to gently nudge you. Can feel your heart beating and see the rise and fall of your chest. Alive, but if you’re anything like the others, that pain would have been crippling.
• When you come to, it’s to your head pounding and a foul taste in your mouth. Everything hurts, like you’re one big bruise, but whatever you’re laying on is warm and there’s something soft wrapped around you. And you just want to sleep, curling tighter against the ache you can feel down in your very bones.

Maybe The Narrator, Tyler and Male Reader as like a lil throuple or something? it can be anything idm🙏
Jack “The Narrator” x Tyler Durden x male reader
Relationship headcanons I guess?
I love this gif,,,, whys he wearing his pants like that? who does he want to grab his hips like that, men???
Tyler is a real person in this universe, cuz it’s easier to write.
How tf did you bag not one mentally ill delusional guy, but two? Honestly, hats off to you. Cuz either you have to be just as unstable as them, or be weirdly too stable to even out their crazy.
So, depending on which, Tyler might not even pull off project mayhem if you are there to reel him in like a rabid Pomeranian wearing one of those full body harnesses.
Jack on the other hand just has so much insomnia it makes him kinda crazy, cuz not sleeping for a long time will drive you insane. Get this guy some sleeping meds, a noise machine, a weighted blanket and some of those melatonin gummies.
If you first start dating them after they start fight club, maybe you even met them there cuz one of your coworkers invited you, they’d still be kinda delulu and out for blood this time around.
Jack seems like he falls fastest, but Tyler falls hardest. You either deck both of them into the ground because its your first night at fight club, or they deck you and think you look so handsome with a bloody nose.
They’d keep circling you at fight club every week, in the beginning Tyler only does it cuz Jack likes you, and maybe Tyler is a little jealous you are taking his friends attention. At some point you’d be invited to their place.
Damn bitch, yall live like this? You try to be polite about it, but its kinda clear they live in a shithole. Screw Tyler’s whole, not owning anything and rejecting modern needs, you need a functioning shower and cable tv.
If Tyler bitches too much about your preferences, you just only invite Jack over, which has Tyler reeling too. So, whilst you are on the couch with an arm around Jack, Tyler can sit on his weirdly soggy mattress and pout.
I think we can all agree that Tyler would be jealous and possessive very easily, think a dog that seems chill, maybe a little hyper, but then snarling and snapping at anyone who comes near you or Jack. You are his, and his alone, so everyone else can stay away.
Jack is jealous and possessive too, but he’s less obvious about it, to others at least. You can tell from the way he glares or clenches his jaw, or how he bites a bit too hard when he makes hickeys on either you or Tyler.
Again, you are the most mentally stable out of all three of you, so you don’t get jealous that easily, compared to them. But that also means when you do get jealous, it has both Tyler and Jack climbing the walls, because its so hot to them.
Especially if you had to fight someone because they kept coming onto either of them, seeing you with a sneer and a bloody fist immediately has both these dudes feeling all types of hot under the collar.
Tyler is definitely a sloppy kisser. He kisses like he fights, overpowering and controlling, bites at your lips a bit too hard and grips the back of your neck and only let’s go when he’s gotten his fill.
For Jack it depends on how he’s feeling, if he’s feeling alright, he’s got the more normal kisses, maybe even just pecks. But if he’s wound up, jealous, or sleep deprived its more like how Tyler kisses.
But kissing them is also your best distraction method if either of them are getting a little too out there. Kissing or like, scruffing them or wrestling them a bit. Just keep in mind the last two most likely lead to something more.
Tyler is a blanket hog, whilst also somehow filling the bed as much as possible. Stretches out all his limbs, or keeps scooting closer to you and jack until you two are pressed up against the wall, whilst Tyler has the rest of it.
Jack is sticky when he sleeps, that meaning he’s hanging onto you. Got both arms and both legs wrapped around you, head on your chest to listen to your heartbeat cuz it helps him sleep. Sleeping between these two is hell in the summer.

How the Boys React to: The Silent Treatment
Xavier

You sit on the rooftop, arms crossed, staring at the skyline. The weight of unspoken words presses against your chest, but you refuse to break the silence first. There's too much to say, too much to untangle, so you settle for watching the stars instead. The silence between you stretches like the night sky. It gnaws at you, a weight heavier than the quiet itself. Xavier leans against the railing, fishing rod in hand, pretending not to notice, but you know he does. He always does.
"You know," he says after a while, "silence is a good hunting tactic. But you’re not exactly hunting me, are you?"
You don’t respond.
Xavier exhales through his nose, reels in his empty line, and without a word, hands over a small package, your favorite snack. Then, he turns away, letting the quiet settle between you.
You glance at the package, sigh, and finally mutter, "You’re annoying."
Xavier smirks. "And you just lost the game."
A chuckle escapes you before you can stop it. He knew exactly how to break your silence without pushing. That was his way, subtle, patient, and completely infuriating.
He casts his line again, the sound of water rippling filling the air. "You wanna talk about it?" he asks, eyes focused on the river below.
You hesitate, then shake your head. "Not yet."
"Alright," he says, and that's enough for now.
Zayne

The clinic is empty, save for the quiet beeping of machines. You sit on the examination table, arms folded, lips sealed.
Zayne checks your vitals, his expression unreadable. His fingers linger just a second longer than necessary, his brow furrowing ever so slightly. You shift under his touch, a flicker of irritation crossing your mind, but you refuse to let it show. Instead, you keep your gaze locked on the sterile white walls, feigning indifference even as your pulse betrays you beneath his fingertips. His fingers linger just a second longer than necessary, his brow furrowing ever so slightly. You wonder if he’s debating whether to press further or let you stew in silence. "You can ignore me all you want, but you can’t ignore your health. Any dizziness? Shortness of breath?" Silence.
He sighs, scribbles something on his clipboard, and then places a wrapped candy beside you.
"I’ll be here when you’re ready." He turns to leave, only to hear the crinkle of candy wrapping behind him.
A small victory.
But he doesn’t leave. Instead, he leans against the counter, arms crossed, watching you with an unreadable gaze. "I know you think shutting me out makes it easier. But bottling things up? It just makes the pressure worse."
You roll the candy between your fingers, eyes fixed on the floor. "I’m not bottling things up. I just don’t want to talk."
Zayne nods. "Fair enough. But just so you know, I’m not going anywhere."
Rafayel

The art studio is a mess of paint and unfinished canvases. You sit in the corner, arms crossed, glaring at nothing. Rafayel continues painting, swirling colors together, pretending not to notice.
After a while, he sighs dramatically. "Ah, I see, I’ve become a mere ghost in your presence. Tragic."
You remain silent.
Rafayel dips his fingers into the paint and, without warning, smears a streak of color onto your cheek.
"Oops. My hand slipped."
You gasp, eyes wide, and Rafayel grins. "Welcome back to the land of the living."
Your fingers brush over the paint, lips twitching. "I hate you."
He laughs, a warm, rich sound. "You love me."
Sylus

The underground hideout is eerily quiet. You refuse to acknowledge Sylus, which only seems to amuse him. He circles you like a predator playing with prey.
"This is new. Silent rebellion, is it?" His voice drips with amusement.
You remain still, unmoved.
Sylus suddenly leans in, whispering near your ear, "You’ll break soon. I’ll make sure of it." A shiver crawls down your spine, but you keep your face neutral, refusing to give him the satisfaction. He chuckles, sensing your discomfort, reveling in the tension between you.
You clench your jaw but refuse to react.
Then, he smirks and pulls out your favorite book, flipping through it lazily. "I wonder what happens next… Oh wait, I could just read it aloud..."
"Don’t you dare."
Sylus chuckles. "There you are."
Caleb
You sit on the couch, arms folded, eyes locked onto the ceiling. Caleb plops down beside you, nudging your shoulder.
"What’s this? The silent treatment?" No response. "You know I’m not above tickling you, right?"
You stiffen but stay quiet.
Caleb sighs, running a hand through his hair. "Fine. Be that way. But just so you know, I’m gonna sit here and suffer in silence too."
He dramatically flops against you, resting his full weight.
After a moment, you groan. "You’re heavy."
Caleb grins. "And you just broke."
You shove at him, but he only leans in further. "You okay, though?"
His voice is softer this time, and you realize he’s actually worried. You sigh. "Yeah. Just needed a moment."
"Take all the time you need," he says. "Just don’t expect me to leave."
Luke & Kieran

You walk through the dimly lit corridors of the N109 base, ignoring the mischievous duo trailing behind.
"So," Luke whispers to Kieran, "what do we do when they won’t talk?"
Kieran smirks. "Annoy them until they snap."
Luke gasps dramatically, clutching his chest as if wounded. You narrow your eyes, crossing your arms, but he only hams it up further, staggering back like he’s been struck. Kieran watches with barely contained amusement, while you fight the urge to roll your eyes. "Unbelievable," you mutter under your breath, but the corner of your mouth betrays you with the slightest twitch. "I can’t believe you would abandon us like this! Have we meant nothing to you?" You glance at him, unimpressed, but he only leans in closer, eyes shimmering with mock betrayal.
You keep walking.
Kieran rubs his chin. "Guess we’ll have to stage a tragedy. Luke, quick, pretend you’re dying."
Luke flops onto the floor, clutching his chest with an exaggerated gasp. He squints up at you dramatically before whispering, "Tell my mother I love her—"
You stop walking, rolling your eyes. "You don’t have a mother."
Luke peeks open one eye, then grins. "Victory!"
Kieran high-fives him before grinning at you. "You lasted longer than I thought."

coffee breath
aged up bakugo x reader
a/n: the 392 leaks are literally tearing me apart; i need some fluff.
coffee was the first step in bakugo’s morning routine. he was the cranky coffee cliche, a man that truly couldn’t function without a bit of caffeine in his system.
he was always up before you, filling the house with the rich scent of his colombian roast. initially it had you reeling, clearing your sinuses at its mere strength. but you’d grown accustomed and even began to love that scent every morning.
as you eased out of bed, stretching your arms above your head, you breathed deeply through your nose.
coffee.
you headed to the kitchen, slipping some house shoes on.
there he was, leaning against the counter with his kiss cat coffee mug that matched with yours.
the moment he heard you padding into the kitchen, his lips quirked into a smile, “coffee?”
you snorted, “not that poison.”
he set his mug down and pulled you into his chest as you approached him, smiling down at you.
“it’ll wake you up.”
“i’d rather do it naturally.”
you wrapped your arms around him, leaning your head against his chest.
for what you wished could be eternity, all you heard was his heartbeat and the soft hiss of the coffee machine. all was well in your world, a world so small. bakugo and coffee and your home. that was all you needed.
“i love you.” you mumbled, looking up at him.
“i love you.”
he leaned down for a kiss, leaving a strong taste of the strongest folgers colombian roast on the shelves. it was bitter, devoid of cream or sugar, but you’d drown in it for him. for one more kiss, one more hug. for eternity.
“sorry about the coffee breath.” he chuckled, leaning his forehead against yours.
“i love your coffee breath.”
“might as well have a cup, then.”
“not a chance.”

So I finished playing Pentiment
and I am lying here face down weeping into a pillow. It broke my heart and then it mended it again. Definitely up there as one of the best stories I've ever wandered through in a videogame.
You start out as an artist in the 1500s trying to finish your masterpiece while doing illustration work for the local abbey to make money, and when a sudden murder occurs you're left to try and solve it, but this is just Act 1. There is so much to see and do and read about in this game, it stretches onto this unspeakably detailed journey centered around this town and its people and its history.
I went in without knowing a thing about it other than what I saw in the trailer, and I. had. a. blast. Along with getting to explore various settings in this town, there are a sprinkling of fun mini games that shake things up just enough to keep you from feeling like you're doing nothing but roaming from place to place and reading all the dialogue and flavor text.
The plot goes places you would never guess in a million years, and every new twist and turn just reveals EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE THINGS. There are dialogue lines that will stick in your brain and parts that will make you laugh and parts that will make you cry and parts that will just wrap you up in everything it is to live in this town--its people, its culture, its holidays, its food, its art, its landmarks, how things change, how things stay the same, you will love it all so much as the game goes on. All that aside, the entire concept of a game being a story in a manuscript and all the gameplay occurring inside the little illustrations? That was such a visual stroke of genius, just seeing that drew me in right away. The art style is lovely and the music is lovely and the background noises are wonderful and immersive and I feel like you could spend hours just looking and listening to all of it.
And there's enough of the "book" in there that you don't forget it's a book. When you enter different areas, it interprets this through page turnings. Instead of the usual "bidibidibidibi" sounds you get with videogame dialogue, it's scribbly pen noises or print machine clunking. Characters have different fonts and sometimes the font changes in mid-sentence, and sometimes for violent emphasis there's a SCRAWLING sound like the writer is carving the words into the page with the pen. Sometimes in even worse situations there's even ink splattered among the words.
There is an option to see the text instantly, (as well as a nice accessibility option where the fonts are easier to read if it's too detailed to make out) but I found myself liking seeing the words written out for me with an invisible pen, especially since there are little moments where stuff gets crossed out and rewritten or the writer corrects little spelling mistakes. There's also a ton of replay value--you decide things like what topics your character studied in school, what personality they have, what languages they know, what types of books your character reads, and what skills they have--and throughout the game you can make choices and have special skills depending on what you pick. (Alas, this is not a game that lets you create your own character entirely like you would in, say, FFXIV or Baldur's Gate 3; I'm being a little vague for spoilery purposes, but you'll have fun figuring out what you want to do. I'm already looking forward to seeing what happens in Playthrough 2 when I do things way differently. :D)
It's been an hour since I wrapped up my first playthrough and I'm still reeling at everything. What an incredible, incredible game.
So in short: thank you so, so much @mercurialmalcontent for getting me this for Christmas. <3<3<3

if it's okay, could we get more sawbones please? nsfw or not anything is fine 🫶
Blue Milk Pancakes
CT-2697 Sawbones and Keda Vaa
Word Count: ~700
Warnings: mention of parent death, otherwise just fluff
A/N: Thank you for the ask anon ❤️❤️ I know you specifically mentioned NSFW but I really wanted to share some moments with Keda and Sawbones. Please feel free to send another ask and I can definitely share some NSFW stuff 😏. (The Tundra is the name of the ship Sawbones and Wolffe...aquire after order 66).
The Tundra is silent as Sawbones shuffles into the galley of the ship. He's pretty sure Wolffe is still sawing logs in his bunk and begrudgingly adds enough ground caf for his pain in the ass commander. Saw glares down at the gurgling machine, loosely wrapping his arms around his stomach. The old, rickety caf machine groans and hisses; Saw wants to smash it.
The soft pitter patter of feet makes him turn, watching Keda wander past, heading for the small table nearby. He moves to grab a mug for himself and a cup for her, glancing over as she climbs onto the bench seat.
"Juice?" he calls over his shoulder.
"Yes please." Saw is already reaching for the cooling chamber, anticipating her answer. "What's the date today?"
Saw doesn't pay much attention when he answers, pouring her juice as the caf machine sputters to a stop. It isn't until he finishes pouring his caf, grabbing both cups, and turns to find her looking down at the table. He gently sets her cup down, sliding into the spot beside her. Keda doesn't move for her juice, staring down at her tiny hands where they're twisted her sleep shirt.
"What's going on?" Saw asks casually, sipping his wretched caf. It's barely better than sludge but he can't function without the caffeine. Keda only offers a small shrug, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. Saw lets out a soft sigh, setting his cup on the table.
"Wanna sit with me or no?" Keda glances up at him again, clearly thinking about it before crawling across the seat to curl up in his lap. It's still too early for him to smile, but Saw's expression softens slightly as he wraps his arms around her small body and rests his cheek against her montrals.
"What's going on, kid?" Keda huffs against his neck in response but he doesn't push her.
"...it's my mummy's birthday today." And if that isn't the gut punch of a lifetime. Saw squeezes his eyes shut and pulls her a little closer. He isn't really sure what he's supposed to say because sorry doesn't feel like enough. He's still reeling when he hears Keda's faint sniffle and blurts out the first thing that comes to mind.
"What was her favorite food?" Keda's silent for a moment before she sits back, looking up at Saw's tense expression.
"Blue-milk pancakes," Keda mumbles, looking away. Well, he can manage that.
"Wanna make some?" Keda's eyes widen, a small smile lifting the corner of her lips.
"Really?" she almost squeals, trying to contain the urge to bounce excitedly. Saw sighs, trying to sound exasperated but the softness in his expression gives him away.
"Sure. We - it can be something we do each year," he murmurs, trying for a half smile. Keda's entire face lights up and she lunges at Saw, wrapping her arms around his neck, punching a surprised laugh out of him.
Saw just holds her, softly rubbing her back. They stay like that for some time, Keda smiling against his shoulder like he's just made her week. Which to be fair, he probably has.
"Buir?"
"What's up, kid?"
"You're a really good dad." The admission shocks him a little, making his throat feel tight for a moment.
"Thanks, kid." Keda hums, resting her forehead against his neck. They fall into a comfortable silence again that stretches on until Saw's inclined to break it.
"Keda?"
"Yes?"
"You're a pretty great kid."
"Thanks, buir."
Saw keeps her close, not even caring that his sad excuse for a cup of caf is getting cold. It isn't until Keda's stomach rumbles that he snorts, breaking the silence.
"Let's make breakfast," Saw proposes.
Although, it doesn't go quite as they had planned. They use the rest of the blue milk, a pancake ends up stuck to the ceiling, and they're both covered in batter by the time they have enough food to count as breakfast.
Saw looks over at Keda as she bounces in her seat, happily chewing the barely passable pancake and smiles, soft and genuine.
Well, looks like they'll just have to try again next year.

'They Came From the Sky 2' Switch Review

The original They Came From the Sky was a fun little arcade-style game where you played as a UFO trying to beam up humans to make some delicious paste. There wasn't a whole ton to it, so it got repetitive quickly. This sequel follows up by expanding on the concept, in the process drawing on the likes of Walker and Defender. You don't control a saucer this time but rather a giant machine that stomps around on the ground. You can still beam humans up into your craft, but you're also able to fire your guns or stomp on anything you like. This is all wrapped in a presentation that evokes 1950s sci-fi movies and news reels.
In addition to an expanded set of abilities, you've got a bit more going on here in the game's structure itself. You'll have to battle bosses from time to time, and there are balloons to take down that will contain power-ups. You need to keep your eyes open for Elvises to beam up, which will unlock new tech that will give you permanent upgrades. Your abducted humans serve as a currency to buy these upgrades once unlocked. There are collectible Earth treasures, which don't do anything but give you one more thing to watch out for. And you'll also need to be careful about killing animals, because you will be penalized for being unkind to doggos by having your weapons jammed.

The humans will fight back, and the resistance will escalate as time goes on. Once your shields are depleted, you're toast. You'll also have to keep an eye on your thermals, because if you overheat you'll be temporarily defenseless. There isn't a lot of room to work with, especially at the start, so you'll have to keep moving back and forth wreaking havoc and trying to keep from being destroyed. Defeating bosses will unlock new areas, but you'll have to last long enough to even get a chance to meet them. As you are at the start, that's a stretch. Focus on collecting Elvises and other humans so that you can power yourself up with new tech.
All of the extra elements give this game a bit more staying power than the original, though it is still very much a pick-up-and-play affair. It's not a game you're going to settle in with and play for hours on end, but something you fire up now and then for a few rounds. And I think in that respect it does what it needs to do. It delivers nicely on the idea of being an alien invader smashing cars with your mechanical legs while roasting a crowd of onlookers with your laser beam. Even when you lose, your stats are presented like a news report.

While They Came From the Sky 2 isn't something I would recommend to everyone, I think people who enjoy small mobile-style action games will get a kick out of it for a little while. There has been a clear effort made here to try to give the player more things to do than in the first game, and even if you don't necessarily want to chase all of that down, its presence is welcome. The way the presentation leans hard into its theme adds greatly to the enjoyment, too. A decent little game.
Score: 3/5

In recent years, "Spin Win" games have exploded in popularity across online platforms, drawing in millions of users with the promise of fast, fun, and sometimes lucrative gameplay. Whether you’re spinning a digital wheel, playing online slot machines, or engaging in gamified reward apps, the concept is the same—spin and win a prize. But is this really the easiest way to make money online, or is it just hype wrapped in flashy graphics?Visit Site https://freeyonorummy.com/What is Spin Win Online?Spin Win online refers to a variety of games and applications where users spin a virtual wheel or reel in hopes of landing on a prize. These prizes can range from digital rewards and discounts to actual cash payouts. You'll find spin-to-win features in online casinos, mobile apps, and promotional campaigns from e-commerce brands. The appeal lies in the simplicity—click a button, spin, and hope for the best. Why People Are HookedThe psychology behind Spin Win games is similar to that of slot machines. Bright visuals, exciting sound effects, and the thrill of possibly winning big keep players engaged. These games are often free to start, which lowers the barrier to entry and invites casual users who might be hesitant about traditional gambling. In addition, many of these platforms reward you with small bonuses just for logging in daily, giving users a sense of progress and motivation to return. It feels like a low-risk, high-reward opportunity, especially when paired with enticing promotions like “spin now to win $100!”Can You Really Make Money?Yes, some users do make money from spin-to-win games, but it’s not guaranteed and often not substantial. Most platforms operate on a freemium model, meaning you can play for free but are encouraged to pay for more spins or unlock premium rewards. The odds of winning large cash prizes are typically low, and many of the winnings come in the form of gift cards, coupons, or small amounts of cash that require reaching a payout threshold. There are also legitimate sweepstakes-based platforms where you can win real money without spending anything. However, it’s essential to be cautious—some sites may not be trustworthy or could be fronts for collecting personal data.Tips for Playing SmartIf you’re interested in trying your luck, here are a few smart tips:· Stick to reputable platforms. Look for user reviews and ratings before signing up.· Set limits. Don’t spend more than you can afford to lose.· Understand the odds. Know that most spins won’t result in a big win.· Avoid scams. Never give out sensitive financial information to unverified platforms.Final ThoughtsSpin Win online games can be a fun way to pass time, and for some lucky users, they might even lead to small payouts. However, calling them the “easiest way to make money online” might be a stretch. If you're looking for serious income, consider pairing this hobby with more reliable online earning opportunities like freelancing, remote work, or e-commerce.That said, if you’re in it for the thrill and don’t mind the gamble, Spin Win games could be your next digital addiction—just spin wisely!

Another New Beginning
At Mount Royal, the lights remain cold, students’ faces glowing ghost-blue, their thumbs moving with the pulse of machines, a metronome of dopamine drip-drip-dripping through screens, each swipe like a bead on a rosary.
Between classes, I walk curved paths, watching them crowd the outlets— pilgrims at the altar of lithium charge, offering seventeen TikToks, four reels, three stories, and two YouTube shorts to the small gods of distraction.
In the East Gate Starbucks, I sit and count the ghost signals passing through us, invisible radiation, waves of words and images slipping silently through the bones of our wrists, a shared pulse of a digital heartbeat we didn't ask for, but can’t turn off.
Once, when the power goes out, a purple-pink quiet falls over the library— the emergency lights casting unfamiliar shadows. Students look up, eyes cleared of digital fog, and something old stirs: a notebook opens, a conversation blooms, a hand sketches words on paper, the marks quiet and real.
I remember the day I found an old GeoCities post, buried in Comic Sans and flashing GIFs, a teenager’s confession wrapped in HTML— the words raw, open, unbranded, saying what no one was supposed to say out loud. "Sometimes I think the internet is the only place where I can be really honest."
That was ceremony. That was sacred. I am from the age that watched Atlantis sink, LiveJournal voices fading, words caught in the throat of a world that spoke faster, louder, and less.
Now, when I write, I think of blood and ink— how monks once cramped their hands to save words from the slow creep of silence. I think of buffalo hides stretched tight, painted histories marking each passing year. My essays, my poems—my winter counts.
We’re not losing words; we’re watching them shift. In the dim Wi-Fi dead zone of the old library, I sit alone, my words slowing, stretching, less about the click and more about the cut, the scrape of bone against bone, the way words emerge like breaths in cold air.
In October, under gray skies, I stand with strangers during a fire drill, the weight of untold stories between us. A classmate tells me her grandmother wrote secrets in syllabics. Another describes the archive he's building, a cairn of family stories hewn from memory’s stone.
I think of Adrienne Rich, of poets as bridges in the darkness, each word a lantern— of bloodwriting as lifeline, each mark an insistence: I was here, I felt this.
In the snow-laden walkways, I see them now: the secret writers, the ones who speak softly and write fiercely, each thumb-typed post a small spell against oblivion.
Bloodwriting is the daily prayer of paying attention, of pressing against surface and signal, insisting on depth in an age that pulls us toward shallows. Each word a thread spun across time, reaching backward, forward— a web of healing, a reminder that to make marks is to matter.
In the last hours of night, when the library hums, I feel the echoes of hands cramping around quills, monks bleeding words onto parchment, believing in the weight of each letter. And I press my hands to the keys, my own quiet prayer: This matters, this matters, this matters.
And in the space between keystrokes, if I listen hard enough, I swear— I can hear them writing back.
