In honor of Faenil's first public appearance being exactly two months ago tomorrow, I've finally managed to make a very basic casual ref for them! I was going to make a bigger ref with the armor and maybe something for the scars and some other things too, but I realized I'm running out of time before ArtFight :') At least I have this now!

Tysm everyone for liking this weird crusty elf so far... I've managed to get over 400 followers within this short amount of time and even though I can't possibly react to every single interaction, I appreciate you all so much! Even the hate comments fuel my brainrot LMAO Anyway I am going to dip in activity again as I'm gonna go celebrate midsummer now and then go on a little trip to celebrate pride later next week, and then the art wars shall begin... A little info on him that I think is important: he's wearing long sleeves for a reason! Those who remember the first "ref" I did will remember that he has scarifications on his arms and doesn't like to show them to everyone...

He's just a silly protagonist attached to his Narrator yk? I'll probably develop his story in another post, so don't worry too much about it :D For now, he's just a happy guy, a little too gay for his own good/silly

I made them siblings!

They usually swim together when they plan in long distances but they are seen separated when they roam in a area for food or other stuff. Their also found in Deepwater but can traverse in open ocean waters, just some times though.

Oh speaking of swimming, they still swim like sitngrays flapping their wings hehe

They can also somewhat control the amount of venom that gets ejected, also I made their venom hallucinogenic

As magical as mers are, they also have their unique trait. Basically if they get bits of indegreints and chew on it for a good while and then they'll blow out a thick iridescent bubble which acts like a potion, pop it and you'll gain the effects

(Idk how to draw bubbles :C)

They also do this to heal a little of their barb if their are any major damages and such

rly trying to practice 'it doesnt have to be good it just has to be done' for getting refs done so i can finally have fullbodies for ocs that need them and ALSO so i can put them onto art fight with more than busts. anyway max and dante got refs finally!

max's face design was pretty much perfect to me from the first time i drew him so i basically just kept it and continued on with the not particularly complex husky patterns. dante got his face design cleaned up a little to be more readable recently and i think it looks better this way than the first art of him
