spent too much time looking at the logistics of webcomic publishing this evening and now I feel. something.
#many things in fact#overwhelmed primarily. I was kind of trying to find some webcomics akin to the kind I want to do like artistically and also genre wise#and couldn't find anything like remotely similar. which I guess is cool bc mine is unique!#but it also means there's not rly existing models/examples of work to look to for guidance ig#especially art style wise waow a lot of these are uhhhhh homogenous. visually. which like stick with what works i guess!#not everything obviously I found some stuff with very lovely unique visuals#but also when I looked around at like webcomic rings and publishing options they were like please update 1-2 times a week. A WEEK?#I think maybe I'm startled by it bc I'm thinking in terms of print publishing like they want a page or 2 a week not full chapters.#but I'm operating on like comic clerk brain where we'd get a new issue of smth in once or twice a month#and those comics had whole teams behind them!! I'm one guy!!!#well. I've learned a lot tonight and I have time. not gonna panic no sir#it speaks

I get all the calls for "organizing your community!!" But for those of us in ruby red areas that won't happen.
The one gay bar in my city got shot up several years ago and shut down right after.
It isn't safe for some of us to find community. A lot of us have nobody nearby. We're literally alone.
#all my friends and my partner are far away#can't move away#work remotely so all my coworkers are online#staying inside and avoiding my local communities is my safest option#also covid is still a thing and 99.9999999% of 'community organization' shit isn't covid safe or mask friendly#so a lot of us are just fucked#i hope everyone that didn't vote or voted 3rd party gets all the pain and suffering they were hoping for#the revolution isn't coming though you've just left everyone behind for your fevered dreams of playing revolutionary#like i'm happy for people that have community thats nice#a lot of us don't and we won't unless we wanna get shot so ya know it is what it is

they rejected my application :(
#i mean i knew that they were going to. i literally do not have the degree they want#but sometimes it feels as if people in this field don't take me seriously because im young lol#like they assume that my experience just Does Not Apply because im not in my 40s#its fine. i never told anyone irl i applied for the job so i don't have to worry about that (ty past me) (i almost said it like 10 times)#when the time comes for me to REALLY start job hunting ill start taking rejections more personally but this was a good experience i think#them giving me a rejection at all and not just ghosting me was actually a huge relief tbh#am i supposed to respond to the rejection email? i guess i will?#dont burn your bridges etc#it feels a little weird saying ty for the opportunity when they didn't even interview me#but this whole corporate bullshit is just empty tradition at this point so whatever#anyway the GOOD news is that my really big name reference told my current boss (as a joke but still) that he wanted to steal me from her#he works for the state which would be an INCREDIBLE opportunity if he was in any way serious#so when the time comes ill be casually mentioning to him that im job hunting and we'll see where it goes#literally every conference ive been to people know his name and ask where he is so im hoping he will have enough pull to let a fresh grad in#two different people (both also rather big names in the field) have told me that he thinks really highly of me#and while working with him was a little bit like pulling teeth i don't really have the option to be choosy rn lol#anyways. im disappointed but not surprised#it was a remote position too :( oh well

#I asked if the interview was online and they answered like I was crazy#obviously the job is in person but most of the interviews I’ve had lately have been online so I don’t think it was dumb to ask#Covid is still a thing too ya know?#I keep coming to the conclusion that remote jobs are the best option for me but I want to work in a library when I graduate#so I also need in person job experience 😔#there’s probably also a bus that could take me there but I’d have to explain why I’m leaving the house and it’s also 100 degrees outside#so walking from bus stops is not ideal#personal

Redefining Serviced Living: Why BedChambers is the Future of Modern Hospitality in Gurgaon
In the fast-paced world of business travel and remote working, the idea of a hotel stay is being transformed. Today’s travelers seek more than just a place to sleep—they want comfort, functionality, and a home-like environment that supports productivity. Enter BedChambers: Gurgaon’s premier name in fully furnished serviced apartments that combine the warmth of a home with the convenience of a hotel.
Whether you're in Gurgaon for a long business assignment, relocating temporarily, or simply craving a stylish space with flexibility and privacy, BedChambers has reinvented the concept of temporary accommodation.
Let’s take a deeper look at why BedChambers stands out as one of the best hospitality options in the NCR region.
The Rise of Serviced Apartments in India
In recent years, India has witnessed a boom in the serviced apartment segment. With increased mobility, a growing corporate workforce, and the evolution of hybrid working models, long-term travelers are seeking value-for-money, full-service accommodations that allow them to live comfortably without the restrictions of a traditional hotel.
Serviced apartments like those offered by BedChambers fill this niche perfectly. You get the comfort of home, the luxury of hotel services, and the freedom to live on your own terms—a trifecta that is difficult to find elsewhere.
Introducing BedChambers: A Curated Living Experience
BedChambers is more than just a place to stay—it's a carefully curated living experience designed for discerning travelers. With multiple properties across Gurgaon’s prime locations such as DLF Cyber City, Golf Course Road, and Sector 40, BedChambers offers modern, well-appointed apartments ideal for both short and extended stays.
From digital nomads and business executives to expats and healthcare tourists, the guest profile is as diverse as the services provided. Each apartment is crafted with functionality and design in mind, making it a seamless extension of your lifestyle.
Why Guests Love BedChambers Serviced Apartments
1. Prime Locations in Gurgaon
Location is key when it comes to convenience, and BedChambers properties are strategically placed within minutes of major commercial hubs, hospitals, shopping centers, and metro stations. Whether you’re working in Cyber City, attending meetings on Golf Course Road, or receiving treatment in a top hospital, you're never far from where you need to be.
This proximity saves valuable time, especially for business travelers with tight schedules.
2. Fully Furnished, Move-In Ready Spaces
Every BedChambers apartment is fully furnished with modern interiors, plush bedding, smart TVs, high-speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a fully equipped kitchenette. You simply walk in with your luggage—everything else is taken care of.
Think hotel-standard housekeeping and amenities, but in a personal, private setting that feels more like home.
3. Professional Housekeeping and Room Service
Tired of cleaning or ordering from subpar takeout? BedChambers includes professional housekeeping, ensuring that your space remains neat and fresh. Many properties also offer in-house room service and partnerships with premium food delivery services for those who enjoy gourmet dining in the comfort of their apartment.
4. Security and Privacy
Your safety and comfort are top priorities. BedChambers offers 24/7 security, CCTV surveillance, secure entry systems, and dedicated guest support to ensure peace of mind. It’s a safe haven for solo travelers, women, and families alike.
5. Flexible Stays and Transparent Pricing
Unlike traditional rental apartments, which require long leases, security deposits, and paperwork, BedChambers provides hassle-free booking with flexible terms—ideal for travelers who value freedom and simplicity.
Rates are competitive and clearly communicated, with no hidden costs or surprises. Corporate packages and discounts for long stays are also available, making it a cost-effective choice.
Ideal for Corporate Travelers and Digital Nomads
If you're a frequent traveler for work or someone who works remotely, BedChambers is designed with your needs in mind. With high-speed internet, ergonomic workstations, and power backup, these apartments are optimized for productivity.
The spaces are conducive to remote meetings, Zoom calls, and focused work, without the distractions of a busy hotel lobby.
Pet-Friendly and Family-Friendly Options
One of the major advantages of BedChambers is its pet-friendly policy in select properties. Travelers relocating with pets or families can find it challenging to secure temporary accommodation that welcomes everyone—including furry friends.
In addition, family suites and multi-bedroom units offer the space and privacy that traditional hotels often lack.
Long-Term Stays with the Comforts of Home
Whether you’re in Gurgaon for a few weeks or a few months, living at BedChambers doesn't feel like a compromise. With options to cook your own meals, relax in a separate living area, and even entertain guests, the apartments provide an authentic lifestyle experience rather than a mere stopover.
Guests often choose BedChambers for:
Corporate relocations
Long-term projects
Medical tourism
Training programs
Transitional housing
Sustainability and Smart Living
As part of its commitment to modern living, BedChambers integrates energy-efficient appliances, LED lighting, and green housekeeping practices to reduce its environmental footprint.
It also promotes smart living features like app-based bookings, contactless check-ins, and digital concierge services for enhanced convenience.
Exceptional Guest Support and Customer Satisfaction

Oh, I looked up the health insurance info for sole proprietor/ self employed again and.. I guess i misunderstood last time. That doesn't count as a small business, apparently. You have to employ at least one other person who isn't a spouse or family member. Apparently. Which, hold up, does that rule literally prevent family businesses from qualifying for small business health insurance???? What?
And like in theory my sister is like yeah sure I'll work for/with you, but if I can't guarantee I can offer her group health insurance then she can't possibly do that.
That oppolis thing thru the freelancers union still maybe seems like a plausible option bc for that it doesn't matter if you're solo, but it's not definitively clear that the coverage they offer will accept preexisting conditions, since that's a private plan rather than the marketplace. I already know the freelancers union's other private offering, solo health, won't accept preexisting conditions, or at least not mine.
So. I'm not going to give up, I'm going to work on this anyway bc its my dream, and I've got the cobra for the next 18 months now, and I'm just going to hope that the oppolis thing will work out and be perfect. And if it's not, then I'll have to make a decision.
By the time I'm ready to apply to oppolis ideally my business will be set up and functional and I'll have recovered from burnout and figured out a lot of this stuff and worklife balance etc. If at that pt I have to get a full time job, then so be it. If wfm will have me back still at that pt maybe I'll be able to get 30hrs/wk instead of 40hrs which will let me qualify as full-time for the health insurance, while giving me a little more time for my business and life. If not, I'll have to look elsewhere. I do know that container store offers health insurance for part time, iirc anyway, so maybe that'd be an option. I would need to have at least ehh probably at least 3 months left on the cobra when I start working again also bc it's usually 60 days before eligible thru work, at least it is at wfm iirc. So. I have maybe a year basically to be ready to apply to oppolis and their health insurance offerings, and then only a couple months after that in which to job hunt if I end up needing to do so and still be sure to have 2 months left of the cobra coverage after I start working wherever. Ideally if I can find out if oppolis will work for me by January 2026 that would be better. And then if it doesn't I will need to be hired somewhere by June probably to be on the safe side. August at the latest. Coverage ends October 2026 I think. Maybe is hard, might be September instead idk. So. Anyway basically its...not ideal. I'll do my best anyway.
#worst case I'll try one of the hmo plans out if the ACA marketplace still exists#even if its only for a few months until i get hired and have worked 60 days in that job#its not gr8 either obvs bc hmo's suck obviously. but theres options still within that. and around it.#v disappointing to find that nys at least doesnt stand up for family businesses#if i could guarantee to steph that she would get coverage if she worked for me she totally would#and she would be a good studio manager and artist liason for me#probably could do a lot of it remotely also which would make her happy to work from home#and only come over to the hpuse to be in the studio with me in person occasionally#fulltime is chafing at her too but she wants to start a family w bro in law so#option 16 is i try and throw my fine art at various cape cod galleries and see if any of them offer health insurance?????? there are certai#galleries that almost exclusively show certain artist(s) all the time and I'm wondering how that works. like is it a contract/freelance#thing or w2 employment?#idk

I thought my leg was good after three weeks of vacation and not walking more than maybe 1 hour daily, just as suggested. (yes, there was the funeral, but I spent maybe 1 1/2 hour walking on that day all together, took precautions, there were long breaks between, and none of the walking was on concrete, so it was still good)
It's not.
I had to go to the store today, and it's very much not okay. And. It's also not something they would give you disability for, if it persists :) Which it has. I've been at this since fucking June :)
IDK how I will manage until the next vacation. Which will be in a year :')
#Uupiic talks about stuff#I can't have a remote job. and our branch at work only promotes into MORE physical work#and we're a department that cannot and WILL NOT be moved into different departments :) because we're ''not good enough'' :)#the only option for me would be to resign and then go live under a bridge :)

How Monticello’s Real Estate Market is Adapting to Changing Buyer Preferences
As the world evolves, so do the preferences of homebuyers. In Monticello, the real estate market is responding to these shifts, particularly with the rise of remote work, increased focus on sustainability, and a desire for more versatile living spaces. Understanding how these preferences shape property demand is essential for both buyers and sellers in Monticello’s competitive market.
The Impact of Remote Work on Monticello’s Housing Market
Remote work has significantly influenced buyer decisions in Monticello. As more people work from home, homebuyers are prioritizing properties with space for offices or multipurpose rooms. Here’s how this trend is affecting the market:
Demand for Home Offices: Buyers are seeking homes with dedicated office spaces or areas that can easily be converted into a work environment.
Larger Homes: Remote work allows individuals to move away from urban centers, and Monticello’s spacious homes provide more room for families who no longer need to be close to an office.
Multi-Function Rooms: Properties with flexible spaces that can serve multiple purposes, such as a guest room, office, or gym, are becoming increasingly popular.
This shift toward remote work is driving demand for homes with better layouts for productivity, both indoors and outdoors, in Monticello’s suburban and rural areas.
A Push Toward Green and Sustainable Living
Another growing trend in Monticello’s real estate market is a heightened interest in sustainable and energy-efficient homes. With more buyers focused on reducing their environmental footprint, properties with eco-friendly features are in high demand. Key changes include:
Energy-Efficient Features: Homes with solar panels, energy-efficient appliances, and high-quality insulation are gaining traction among eco-conscious buyers.
Green Spaces and Outdoor Living: Monticello buyers are looking for homes with outdoor spaces that support sustainable living, such as vegetable gardens, water-saving irrigation systems, and low-maintenance landscaping.
Sustainable Building Materials: Many new homes are being built with eco-friendly materials, like bamboo flooring and recycled steel, which appeal to the growing number of green-minded buyers.
The real estate market in Monticello is embracing this shift, with more listings offering homes that prioritize energy efficiency and environmentally responsible designs.
Shifts in Location Preferences
Previously, Monticello was seen as a rural community primarily attracting those looking for peace and privacy. However, with remote work becoming more prevalent, buyers are reassessing their location preferences. The desire to be near the city for convenience is no longer as strong, and many are choosing Monticello for its:
Rural Charm with Urban Proximity: Monticello provides a unique balance of rural living with easy access to nearby cities, making it an ideal location for buyers who want more space without sacrificing convenience.
Access to Outdoor Recreation: Buyers are drawn to Monticello’s natural beauty, including parks, trails, and lakes, which provide opportunities for outdoor recreation and relaxation.
Desire for Quiet and Community: The shift to more peaceful surroundings, away from the hustle of urban life, appeals to buyers looking to enjoy a more community-focused lifestyle.
