Depending on what happens tonight at the Oscars, argentinians may or may not become even more sexy and even more annoying.
Be prepared for Argie Tumblr to go up in flames.

About "Argentina, 1985"
Tumblr media
Today I went to see "Argentina, 1985". I'm trying to contain my emotions to process the movie and comment on a few points:
-The film is intended for an audience that knows little (or nothing) about the subject. Obviously, the objective is not to show why or how the military dictatorship arose. Nor does it intend to delve into the relationship of the different characters (or social groups) with the dictatorship. Some suggestions are made but it is a two hour film, not a documentary, so clearly it is not intended to be too complex but rather introductory, showing one of the most epic events in the world history of the 20th century: the first trial, since Nuremberg, which is done to the military leadership, responsible for a bloody genocide.
-For those who already have a more complex knowledge on the subject, I think the film may come to be liked. However, in my opinion, some dialogues, for being too obvious, ended up being quite simple.
-One point in favor is that several times there has been the opportunity to listen to the arguments of those who defended (and defend) the actions of the military, so the development of the film allows to demonstrate again and again, the true nature of the misnamed "war against subversion"
-I would have liked to see more civil participation of people not linked to the judicial apparatus, but the testimonies of the victims turn out to be (obviously) heartbreaking and capable of providing a general panorama of the cruelty of the dictatorship.
I would like to comment a few more things about the movie but I don't want to do any spoilers either. I probably will when it releases on Amazon Prime. For those who have the opportunity to see it in the cinema, do it, it's a different experience. And bring tissues, just in case.

Fancy learning about one of the most important moments in Argentinian history?
Watch Argentina, 1985
Amazing emotional movie, showing the trial to the lead responsables of the last dictartoship in Argentina. Responsable for the disappearances, tortures and murders in the dictatorship
With this trial, one of the saddest chapter in the history of our country and the victims, got JUSTICE and, thankfully, this one was the first of many that till this day are not over.
A plus: you get to watch some of the best actors of the country.
That said, I fully recommend to watch it in Spanish (with subtitles if you don't speak the language). Listening how we talk and express it's a way of being for us and I think it's one of our main characteristics as Argentinians.
Full of emotions, the trial and and especially the allegations of the prosecution, brought me to tears.
