I read the first three HP books (I can't remember if I read the fourth, but, if my memory serves me properly, I think I read halfway through). My grandma, to whom I dedicated the Stephen King book stack to yesterday, read through all seven HP books, but not the Cursed Child play, which I may need to buy her for Christmas to read, among other SK + RG books that she missed reading. My grandma and I don't really care about anything else but the books that shaped our lives.

🌟 BOOK REVIEW🌟 🌟 💫 Straight off, The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith aka J.K. Rowling is bound to have some polarising effect and that’s natural since it draws a lot of inspiration from the author’s personal life. With that being said and trying to maintain a word limit, let me try to review the book and keep the noise out. The series which started in 2014 is back with it’s two protagonists, Strike and Robin trying to unravel the death of a popular YouTube cartoonist, Eddie, a few weeks after her coming to the detective duos doorsteps trying to seek help to uncover the source of repeated online threats from a mysterious Anomie. It’s known upfront that this character Anomie is the murderer and along the way, the author introduces multiple characters with character traits similar to Anomie and let’s the readers decipher it. The online gaming platform with it’s chat windows is a smart way to throw in players with pseudo names and what’s fun is how these assist the narrative with clues and also retain the character traits from their own self. North Grave with it’s inhabitants-form an equally integral part of the storyline and will keep you guessing. The book does have a dark undercurrent with homophobic innuendos and mental effects of online trolls and as such I would strongly not recommend this one for readers looking for lighter reads. Where the book does falter is it’s length. It does require a lot of patience and though, you will come out thoroughly satisfied, the author does expect you to fully invest yourself and possibly keep track of multiple narratives throughout the 1012 pages. What the author does give is small interludes of Robin and Strike’s “will they/won’t they” romance and for followers of the series, the question lingers. If anything, I would have trimmed out a bit of this but I can completely understand the author’s logic to provide some breathing space to her readers in possibly her darkest work till date. Have you ever had a poem or a song written about you? *blushes!* @zulufic​ wrote one when we first started dating and hadn’t met yet in person. The first line is “Poetry, my mother told me once, is about warring teapots”. Did I mention I fell for her because of her way with words? 

When was the last time you played guitar? What? *laughs!*

Who is your celebrity crush? EWAN MCGREGOR, I GUESS, UGH :P *hates having celebrity crushes!* This one is especially bewildering to me because when The Attack of the Clones came out I happened to be living in Tokyo and his face was eeeeeverywhere advertising an English-language school and I just developed a “DO NOT WANT” reaction. Things changed I guess???

Another celebrity crush is Olivia Wilde? And Kristen Bell? 

What’s a sound you love and a sound you hate? I hate the sound of magic erasers *shudders* Once a month I have to use it to clear a white board and work AND UGH THE WORST IT CAN’T BE OVER ENOUGH. 

I sound I love is the crashing of waves. (Oceans, I miss you!!!) I love to sit on the beach, or the rocks, and just stare and listen and absorb and be. Water is everchanging, ever pressing, and I am captured by its beauty. 

Do you believe in ghosts? Not particularly? 

Do you believe in aliens? I definitely believe in other lifeforms elsewhere in the galaxy, be it single-celled organisms or a form we can’t begin to conceptualize/recognize :D ...That is, when I’m not spiralling out into a solipsistic panic ^_^;; (In high school I used to terrify myself by trying to contemplate the vastness of the universe, and then with the fact that I can’t truly prove anything exists. I phased out of this basically by not thinking of it anymore. The universes’s vastness/the inability to prove existence still gives me the willies.)

Do you drive? Reluctantly! I’m happiest when I go on routes I know well.

What was the last book you read? Robert Galbraith’s/JKRowling’s “A Career of Evil”. Currently on chapter 6 of “Lethal White.” 

What’s the worst injury you ever had? *thinks* Probably the three stitches in my head I got as a kid? I was mad jealous of... my sister? or a friend? I figured I’d get everyone’s attention by doing mad acrobatics on a slide and instead pulled the whole thing on me *laughs* My parents wouldn’t let me go to school for a week because my face was so banged up it’d scare the other kids. 

Do you have any obsession right now? >____> WHY DO YOU ASK

Do you hold grudges against people who’ve done you wrong? I have a hard time letting things go; regret is a feeling that lingers far longer than I’d like. I am still very angry and confused at certain persons for-- having intentionally stabbed me, as it were. I try to let it go. It’s not worth my energy. I do say “try,” as it’s a process. Maybe one day, hopefully ❤

soooo i had this cued last night before the essay went live this morning by she who must not be named. i watched The Life and Death of Marsha P. Johnson last night with my mom, and just didn’t want to think about That Woman. but then she wrote that essay, and it was so abhorrent with her pulling insane made up statistics that have no source to back them up, that i feel it’s my duty to disclose this information i found on twitter yesterday morning via some of the most amazing twitter sleuths around. (seriously, y’all. all the breaking news is ova there.) — anyway, read all the slides.
