Lots of painting progress made tonight unexpectedly, getting closer to the polishing steps where I can try to get back to some more of that dramatic shading that's in the original sketch as well other things, very excited for how this is turning out!

Did you know? From 2020-2022, .flow creator lol did a complete playthrough of .flow with commentary on Youtube. (On the channel, lol plays games as a Vtuber called Mimimi-chan--the protagonist from lol's other game, AruMa KeteRa.)

It's filled with little bits of trivia and it's fun to hear lol's reactions to everything in the game, too. (Of course, don't expect concrete answers on the deeper mysterious of .flow!)

Even if you don't fully understand Japanese, I think it's worth taking a look at. You can check the comments section for English translations provided by fans on some of the videos as well!

There are 12 videos in the playthrough, plus an extra video of lol playing .flow on Yume Nikki Online in February 2024 to celebrate .flow's 15th anniversary. 🥳

The YNO video is especially hilarious because lol acts like they've never played or even heard of .flow before, it's very silly.

Truffula Flu/The Rust Factory/Let it Flow moodboard

Why these three together? They’re the first three things I think of when someone asks me why I like the Onceler fandom so much. I really enjoy the open-sourced collaborative nature of the writing culture here ^_^ there’s always a sense of community whenever I see people work together to make stories by mashing their characters and world together like toys. Some of them get really creative with the explnataions for the crossovers too! I also really like how alot of stories here draw inspiration from the (1972) and (2012) source materials, it’s sweet seeing them honour the original work and reinventing it.
