roman gets mad that everyone took deceits side over his and i feel like he’s valid. sure was roman mean for making fun of deceits name? yeah a little.

but i feel like it’s also okay for roman to be mad that he was always told he had to be selfless then someone nobody trusts comes along and says he’s allowed to be selfish and he’s just expected to trust that!??

he trusted patton and patton destroys that in one episode. then roman is just not allowed to be mad??? also the comment “roman if remus didn’t have a mustache i wouldn’t be sure who the evil twin is,” and NOBODY standing up for roman.

this means that roman sunk down thinking patton and thomas agree. which honestly we are never told contrary.

again patton asked him to go back on everything he was taught abt selflessness and he was supposed to do that in like what? 30 minutes??? in conclusion the way roman is treated is incredibly unfair in s vs. s redux and he doesn’t deserve all the hate he got.

So... a mini update and a poll!

After I converted everything related to VS, I decided I was going to convert from some creators I overlooked in the past. So I decided to focus a bit on SimsFromThePast. I converted pretty much everything from her (except for that one medieval dress because it's a mess 😭), and I'm happy with how they came out!

After that, I decided I was going to focus on Rusty's Princess Of series, to give life to Princess Diana in ts3. I'm 75% done with it, converted all hairs and standalone outfits, just one more set and a half to go!

I'm very happy with what I've done so far, and even though school will begin very soon (ugh), I want to keep my progress steady!

So to recap, the creators I'm done with/in progress are: HLS (though I still need to convert their latest set and top), VS, SFTP and Rusty.

As you might imagine I'm nowhere near finished with converting everything I have inside in my wip folder, and because it's so much stuff (and they're all so good), and also because I love democracy, I want to hear from you lol! What should I focus on next? Please have in my mind that I'll only do one project at a time, I can't multitask very good lol!

Also keep in mind these are just some options, I got a lot of other stuff, but these are the ones I'm willing to do no matter which one wins right now.

How do you think a crossover between Lavender Jack and Grendel (Hunter Rose) would play out?

Arsene Lupin vs Fantomas Redux: Masked Swashbuckler Edition, two perfectly matched, perfectly dressed night creatures leaping and cartwheeling circles around each other in an exquisitely deadly mating dance. Lavender and black blurs clashing in unison punctuated by odd dashes of red as they wear each other down, neither willing to give up, neither willing to let the other one escape and walk away the winner. They've staked their lives on this game of masks and acrobatics and they cannot let themselves be bested by some rank amateur trying to stop them. Whatever initial grudging respect they might have for each other would give way to sheer disgust, upon both of them learning more about each other.

Here, is a colorful rich man playing pretend in the realm where Grendel rules supreme, a pathetic burglar born into privilege who actually buys into the idea of defending the lower class as anything other than the mark of an utterly deluded rube, a little tinkerer with a grudge and a merry band of like-minded idiots who can't even defend one city, a truly boring hero to wet his claws against. And there, is a monstrous little pervert who thinks being good at murder gives him a free pass to godhood, an aggressively self-important and immature boy who never stood up for anything that didn't line up his pockets or feed his ego, a terrorist so aimless and petty he makes The Black Note look like a paragon of upstanding activism, a truly boring villain to sharpen his skills against.

They would detest each other and it's quite likely that it would be up to the Lavender League to rescue Jack and tip the odds in his favor enough to survive (even if not outright beat) Grendel, and if nothing else it would be a massive disservice not to let Honoria Crabb get at least a couple of good hits in on Hunter Rose.

Considering Grendel vs The Shadow already had Hunter Rose travel through time, instead of retreading that set-up, it could be fun to have the Lavender League do the time-traveling for a change or even have 80s-versions of the characters to do battle against Grendel, have them be the intruders upon Grendel's world instead. Considering Schkade's toyed a bit with the idea of there being alternate versions of Jack across history, maybe this could be the premise for this as a larger story: The concept of Grendel in his world is set to eventually inspire and cause wars, famines, a rise in fascism and genocide on a scale that will destroy humanity for good. Can Lavender Jack and his league stop it before it kicks off and save the soul of this world?

Could it be that, in order to do so, they will have to avert Hunter Rose's death and final battle with Argent, and instead defeat, humiliate and unmask him as a man to destroy the Grendel mystique for good? Or, considering S3's "Lilac Jack" and the effect this had on Jack's public image, are they just replacing one rotten legacy for another? And so the battle balloons into one for the soul of mankind and the masked avenger concept alike.

(I would, however, quite like to see Hunter Rose arrive in Gallery all full of himself thinking this is another world ripe for the taking, and not even getting to fight Jack, with the Hawthornes wrecking his shit before he even dares to make it that far)

2. What is your favorite class and why? And/or list the player classes in order of most -> least favorite.

Honestly? Jedi Consular has been been my fav so far where I started a redux play through of my Main so I don't repeat my first blind play through where I made some choices I wasn't happy with. I'm honestly all about the Wise Healer slowly becoming more and more disillusioned the more the Consular class story goes on; Wanting to do good only to be just another pawn in just another war.

But I will say Sith Inquisitor quickly shot up the list to a very close second. Just everything about that class story really. Zash? I both love and hate her. Seeing her on Nathema the first time made me go feral. I'm totally not debating playing with the story beat of she didn't die then and will come back AGAIN later down the line... lol. That and the whole force ghost story bits, and the end of the class story? *(Chefs kiss)*

Least fav? Jedi Knight. The whole light vs dark side bits were waaay to ridged for my tastes. Yes Kira was like a little sister to my character, No that doesn't mean she's turning to the dark side.

6. Do you primarily play Republic, Empire, or a mix of both sides? Is there a specific reason for this preference?

Currently I mostly play the pub side only because most of my Cartel items/purchases are reedemed on Isadola (my main). I have been slowly leaning towards playing more of both as I dust off my Sith Inquisitor more and more. But I'm not gunna lie I love the Imp fleet a lot more, it's design is much more up my alley.

8. Name your top favorite companions (feel free to include reasons why).

Ohh, that's a bit of a list but I'll stick with my top 5. Top of the list is Lana hands down, She's Issie's better half among other things that would be too long to list here. Number 2 slot is HK-51, I've had him for less than a few weeks and I would already die for my assassin bot buddy. Next in number 3 & 4 is Nadia & Ashara, My fav force students that are borderline sisters to each of my mains. And number 5 is Khem Val easily, I love my big morose monster of a teddy bear. He reminds me a lot personality wise of my old cat. So yea.. I got quite attached to him.

9. How about your least favorite companions?

Doc. Hands down, no list. Dude does not take "no" for an answer. Kira was close to killing him? Girl would have to get in line behind me as I throw his ass out the air lock. At least Tharan took the hint when you shoot him down, but fuck does Doc just not let it go if you're playing a female jedi. Not to mention he's so fucking full of himself. I could rant all day about this, and no shame to those that do like him, but Doc just rubbed me in all the wrong ways and there was no way I could get rid of him. He made a tedious playthrough like I was pulling teeth.

You mean fav swtor OCs/ my mains? Hell yeah!

First we have Isadola Ardeen Shir (Or known as Issie by those closest to her); Jedi Consular, Miraluka.

This girl can hide so much trauma in her.

I've been trying to write more stuff for her considering she's the Character I have almost literally all my time/progress on. I feel I need to do her backstory justice.

Now my other main, Or in Issie's case the other side of the mirror-

We have the Sith AU Issie, otherwise known as Atteia Ulla Shir, Sith Inquisitor.

Small changes in their shared backstory resulted in her becoming Sith instead. In this timeline she lost her original name, and was given another.

In some sense they are both the same person and different people. And if you forced them to meet, they would probably try to kill each other over who suffered more in what little of their pasts that they share, but would be stuck in a stalemate because they are both on the same power level as the other.

Best quote I can borrow for these two is from Bioshock Infinite: "Constants and Variables". These two are the almost literal embodiment of that quote.

You know ngl, I'd say SMTV is a pretty good SMT to start with for you. You come across as a super lawful leaning guy and SMTV is probably one of two entries that doesn't favor Chaos or Neutral in the over Law in the franchise- iirc some people argue its pretty Law favored too.

I agree with you but- This ain't my first SMT game.

SMTIV was my first game. Followed by Devil Survivor, Strange Journey Redux, Nocturne and all the modern Persona games interspersed within along with watching a playthrough of IV: Apocalaypse. Not a surprise given my love of duality and balance.

I'm guessing you just never caught me talking about it before.

But- Yeah I actually really liked the original SMTV's endings. Dazai's actually a great Law protagonist because he brings up a very real question that Chaos and Neutral can't answer: What about the people who need guidance? Who can they turn to?

Neutral would answer that everyone should find their own path but that's of no help to someone who can't make decisions.

And Chaos doesn't give a shit.

This question actually makes Law pretty persuasive without abandoning the alignment's roots in 'safety and order at the cost of freedom' because people like Dazai would thrive under it.

Chaos is pretty interesting here too since it's framed as protecting and prioritizing Japan/the myriad religions of the world, which is normally portrayed as a Neutral thing. But it makes sense, more so for it to be Chaos than Neutral. Because the concepts of freedom vs. safety have existed long before Judo-Christianity and many of these gods also propose their own solutions to that question. Solutions that are mutually exclusive. So, if you make it so all the gods are equally valid- well, people will fight to prove their god is more valid. Happens all the time. So, it makes sense for this idea to be aligned with Chaos because it would be a free for all.

Atsuru could definitely be better developed (which Vengeance has been doing well with) but it does bring up something interesting: how Atsuru firmly sticks by Koshimizu/Tsukiyomi, which is usually a lawful trait.

Neutral...honestly is the weakest endings. Yes, both endings. Yakumo seems like he might have a point about demons using humanity and how human who fall into the temptation are bad. ... But Yakumo is such an asshole. Not to mention unlike Dazai and Atsuru, Yakumo is never shown helping anyone. There's no reason for me to believe he would help an innocent person.

Not to mention his talks of demons and humans being fundamentally incompatible and must be separated are...just stupid in context. Ignore Nuwa, she cares more about humanity than herself. That's not the contradiction. The contradiction is that to assume the throne in any capacity, you MUST be a union of demon and human working as one. The two other candidates in Atsuru/Tsukiyomi and Dazai/Abdiel see each other as partners and equals. Lamhu didn't see Sahori as an equal and he ended up wasting time and dying for it. And throughout the game, you help demons CONSTANTLY and they in turn help you.

I mean fuck, the True Neutral ending requires you to complete the Amanozako, Fionn and Khonsu side quests to get it. Amanozako does nothing but try to help you and sees you as her partner by the end. Fionn attacked you BECAUSE he thought you were a threat to humans and does everything he can to help you. And Khonsu was willing to give up both life and EXISTENCE for Miyazu. By all rights, these guys prove that demons CAN coexist with humans if the whole 'Nahobino' stuff didn't. And yet the ending is all about prioritizing humanity. Something normal for Neutral but like say...Gin's ending in Devil Survivor- you've seen the kinder side of demons so much more.

I kind of see SMTV as analogous to Pokemon SV as both have tried so much to push the boundaries of their respective franchises. Not just in open world gameplay but in their stories, breaking many conventions to try and present new avenues in their stories. It's honestly shocking that Pokemon pulled off the story side better than SMT, since that's usually reversed. But I still really respect SMTV for trying to make things more balanced since the series has an...overwhelming amount of bias for Neutral.

I've heard about the new endings in Vengeance. Particularly that there is no Neutral ending added in. Which sounds nice and kind of similar to Strange Journey. I've heard other things about the endings but I'm gonna save my thoughts until I clear CoV at least once.

Pictured below is, well, you know who is pictured below don't you? Yes, it's The Birthday Party. Last week I saw Mutiny In Heaven, the documentary about the band made by Ian White, and it was fantastic, for several reasons. First of all, it was a pleasant re-acquaintance with the angry, dangerous, aggressive Nick Cave, who I like a lot more than the quiet and sad Nick Cave we have seen the last few years, and I'm saying this with all the respect I have for the man's tragic losses, I mean, I admire the way he copes with all of that, but musically he has lost me a bit. Of course I was too young to have consciously known The Birthday Party, and I don't really remember 100 % when Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds came on my radar, I think I picked up the Kicking Against The Pricks and Your Funeral My Trial lp's up from the Kortrijk library (again, endless thanks to the Kortrijk library with their fantastic collection), but I don't know if that was before or after I bought the 1988 Tender Prey album, but anyway. The Birthday Party, the aggression, the feedback, the unique guitar sound of Rowland S. Howard, bass god and naughty boy Tracy Pew, the always quiet and sober (except that one time) Mick Harvey and the primitive drum sound of Phil Calvert, they were truly a force. The drinks, the drugs, the pills, and the hunger. The loathing of London, but not exactly a rebirth in Berlin. The making of the Nick The Stripper video. Just go see it. Also fantastic was the entry into the cinema of an elderly couple, they were too late so they had to sit on the front row but then looked around and noticed some more empty seats in the fourth row, so they went there, asked some people to move, and then sat there for ten minutes, after which they left the cinema again. Wrong movie? Wrong Nick Cave? Too loud? Who will tell? Anyway, I'm playing Deep In The Woods in the show, a song that I have always liked a lot because it showed the way Cave would slowly move towards what would become The Bad Seeds but still has that distinctive Rowland S. Howard feedbacking guitar.

Season 5 rewatch thoughts: 

(idk if anyone actually reads these but idc I like writing them lmao)

overall thoughts: this was a shorter season (only 20 episodes) but it didn’t feel like it for some reason and I can’t decide if that’s good or bad lol. the distance between “Redux” and “The End” feels enormous though, and I think it’s bc you can really divide this season into three distinct sections: the cancer arc climax of Redux/Redux II, post-cancer arc (Detour, The Post-Modern Prometheus), and post Christmas Carol/Emily arc, that all have a very different tone from each other. obviously the main overarching theme this season is mulder and scully’s role reversals of believer vs. skeptic, but this season also deals a lot with trust in a way that I found similar to earlier episodes (particularly “wetwired” in regards to “the pine bluff variant”) but where the themes manifest in a different way bc the M/S relationship has changed so much even just from the beginning of the season

msr: redux/redux II is earth-shattering for so many reasons but imo this is the point where i think it’s solidified for both of them that they are IT for each other like there is no possible way they can imagine a future without the other in it. (now I don’t think they think the other feels the same way as they do lol but it’s a confirmation of their own feelings at least) but, coming to this realization is deeply painful especially considering the emily arc, scully’s chip, mulder’s disbelief, and just the weight of their work and the x files in general- made all the worse bc it is impossible for them to separate their work from their love for each other. the ouroboros of it all!! “folie a deux” is the culmination of the horror show of their current relationship, and diana in the following episode further takes an axe to it, particularly for scully. I also don’t think it’s completely fair to say that mulder alone stopped anything from happening in “detour” bc scully also did the same thing in “emily” when she refused mulder’s comfort (understandably, she was probably still pissed at him, but as she told the social worker, she was also keeping him at arms length for her own protection). who knows if things would have been different if that hadn’t had happened, but I think her rejection of him makes their distance from each other in the rest of the season bc of their changing beliefs feel even more isolating. I thought s4 was bad for angst, but whew! also, no hugs this season, and almost no physical affection after the cancer arc except for small moments in “the red and the black”, “all souls”, “folie a deux”, and “the end”.

writing: vince gilligan is a god!!! though he (and tim minear) had a tiny flop with “kitsunegari”. I also love his attention to continuity by having mulder wear a bandage on his finger in “folie a deux”, it makes it even darker when you consider mulder was ~this close~ to dying probably not even a week apart...no wonder he’s so grumpy lmao. I also was very impressed with john shiban in “the pine bluff variant” considering I normally can’t stand his solo writing episodes (like “teso dos bichos” is thee worst episode of the series i’m sorry)

directing: I miss rob bowman :(( but “kill switch” and “the pine bluff variant” were absolute VIBES and I can’t wait for FTF. the non manners/bowman direction was mostly fine, but the only other directors that stuck out to me were chris carter for “the post modern prometheus” and “the red and the black” (where he was imitating bowman i think) and r.w. goodwin for “the end”. also lots of close up shots of mulder’s eyes this season! big fan!

hair: great hair from both of them, and the most consistent (probably bc of FTF) early s4 scully hair and s1/s3 mulder hair is still my favorite tho lol

favorite episodes: Redux II, Detour, Christmas Carol/Emily, Kill Switch, Bad Blood, The Pine Bluff Variant, Folie a Deux, The End

70% worth rewatching imo (surprising bc there were a lot of episodes I LOVED but there was a lot of filler too, probably bc of FTF filming)

Migraine Mishaps

Summary: Patton gets a late-night migraine and Janus couldn't sleep.

Notes: I'm pretty productive these past three days, shipping, Janus with basically anyone that breathes in the Thomasphere. Please don't jinx it.

Patton laid on his bed. The soft cream-tinted light filled the room as he held a little plushy in his arms tightly, as though the little guy could be stolen from him any moment. It was a stuffed koala from Thomas’s childhood, still smelling like hot chocolate and early mornings from days where nothing was too complicated to handle.

He sighed heavily, thinking of the events of this past week. More specifically how Thomas seemed to be improving mentally and physically.

Logan was right, Patton thought, as always…

Really though, he was so thankful for Janus for his well-meaning, effective (albeit a tad overdone at times) contributions to Thomas’s very existence.

Patton thought of the callback; what if they listened before? Spare the ruckus and turmoil to just go what they knew would make them feel better? What if they listened to Janus even before this?

What if Janus was the head of discussion instead of him?

All the those and emotions all at once gave him a migraine, so he knew he needed to go down to the living room to get a cup of water.

Leaving his room, he realized how late it was. The entire headspace was quiet, with only the soft echoes of Virgil’s music in his room.

He sat down at the table, put his head on his hand with a cup of water in front on his face. It was quiet for a while until he heard a voice call out to him from the dark.

“Patton? Why up so late?”

Patton jumped slightly. “Oh hey Jan! Just getting a cup of water. How ‘bout you? Water you doing so late?”

Janus smirked. “Good one Patton…” he said “… but with all seriousness, what are doing up so late?” He sat beside Patton on the table.

Patton shrugged. “Just a headache.” He traced his finger around the brim of his cup, ignoring the throbbing of his head.

“Well your head may be doing a lot more than just aching.” Janus said, looking at him with full concern.

“Heh. It’s just a migraine. It’ll go away tomorrow.” Patton said lightly, as opposed to he really felt.

“You know what caused it?” Janus asked softly.

Patton pursed his lips. “Nothing escapes you, huh?”

Janus stayed silent, waiting for his answer.

“Just a bit overthinking.” Patton confessed.

Janus leaned in closer, stating that he was listening.

“Was I wrong, Jan? Was I bad for Thomas?” Patton asked defeatedly.

“Patton…” Janus started, quite surprised with what he heard. “…I’m sorry.”

Patton looked surprised. “Why?”

Janus sighed. “I can’t help but feel I made you feel that way.”

“Hey, it’s alright. You didn’t do anything wrong! I just can’t help but feel like I shouldn’t be at the head of discussions when it comes to Thomas’s well-being.” Patton stated.

“Oh please Patton! There’s no one better than you! You did what you thought was right!” Janus enounced.

“Plus, if it were me, someone definitely would have been pushed down the stairs by now.” Janus said, making Patton laugh slightly.

“I guess so…” Patton said, smiling a bit.

“Try to get some sleep, okay Patton?” Janus said, standing up and heading off. “You deserve it.”

Before he left, he placed a soft, quick kiss on Patton’s head and walked off, leaving Patton to stay in the dark, his face heating up.

He wondered if this entire thing was a dream.
