random note about king on that animation, i got really lucky with how simple his animation was and how clean my sketches were to begin with that i was able to do very minimal cleanup on what i had sketched (and add back. his horn. it's supposed to take place just after echoes of the past, Oops) and call it done that way instead of having to redraw the entire thing like i had to on his dad

first sketch > line cleanup > nearly final animation (i'd added slight eye movements last-second but otherwise that's the final)

I AM NOT AN ANIMATOR I AM JUST A HOBBYIST...#i animate like once a year... shits hard man.... but apparently when i do animate. its extremely good :) proud of that #even if i have an extremely unhinged way of animating #i don't have an animation program i draw everything individually frame by frame in photoshop #each character had their own psd file with the same background and every frame was its own group. twice. one for sketch one for colors #i do test takes with gifcam (there are literally 55 WIP gifs in my documents folder rn) by switching between layers and taking a 'frame'#and i compile in blender's video editor and to move things separately i save each character's frame in its own .png 'cel'#so luz was her own 'cel'. king was his own 'cel.' etc. and then i have to manually slide the lengths of the frames around #to match the right framerate. traditionally animation is animated at 24 FPS on 2's - so 12 frames a second. i go on 3s. 4 to slow down #anime-ass framerate. i'm insane apparently but its what i like to do #i dont understand real animation programs they have too many pieces but i DO understand photoshop and my funny brushes #imagine having Digital Programs and Still basically doing ye olde traditional animation method just in the computer #if im Just making a gif then i only use gifcam and switch between layers. like digital stop motion. somethings wrong with me

I have read Geunseo's author commentary and other translator's translation notes so I know for a fact that the way Yoojin and Sung Hyunjae interact is more akin to a perfunctory customer service dialogue and that can't be translated over to english as seamlessly BUT

Being an english reader it is actually hilarious trying not to read into their interactions. They just go off the rails all the time and say and DO things that are questionable at best. And I know there's supposed to be a level of distance in their social hierarchy (respecting people older and in better standing that yourself?) but WHY does SHJ act like that.

friendly reminder that self harm is lying to you

#the worst is when it promises you'll feel better and then you simply. do not. you feel worse and then you want to harm again bc surely that #will make you feel better right? THAT WOULD BE A NO. IT DOES NOT.#anyway today i went to spotlight cause i was sad cause i got the result for my 35% assignment i really struggled with. 32.5%. failure.#and at spotlight i made the foolish error of buying without knowing price. but like who makes a book a normal softcover crochet pattern boo #$55?! anyway it's a lovely book and am excited to try a few of teh patterns but the guilt is eating me alive #and also im super stressed about the assignment i have to turn in on thursday and haven't started #anyway i was literally four and a half hours away from being seven days clean #and i am just so sad right now #and i reopened one of the scars on my wrist too while on shift this morning so that's fun #not badly but it's just gonna mean it scars even more isn't it because of course #i was feeling incredibly awful for some reason i can't even remember and i kinda clawed up my arms. and no i don't count that as #breaking my streak bc it didn't cause much damage #i just. placement is so wonderful but life is so so hard #i don't know i want a hug and the assignment done and everything bad unmade #and the scars i have to look at every day on placement gone.#i want to talk to s but i haven't responded to her last message and i don't know how to respond but i need to respond to that #:((#honestly actually i think i want to talk to aunty. friend's mum. in person. and get a hug. i want a hug.#im just. …ok so hi sorry for completely disappearing yet again and I’m kind of late w/ all the Koshien stuff but ANYWAYS here’s the covers for the new Liella subunit songs!! Not gonna lie,I didn’t expect them to just…casually preview these at the Koshien out of nowhere like when did they start doing this???Not that that’s bad,it just feels random cndjdj but I’m still excited tho 👀👀 we only got snippets,but just from those these sound WAY better than their debut tracks imo

(Also this may be too early to say,but just going off of the Koshien and the YouTube previews Jellyfish is by FAR my favorite - they’re all pretty solid tho)
