hi Dee :) ok so,,, some Jess lore right now is that I am currently being <3 stalked <3 a little bit irl. which is obviously not great lmfao and I am nOt loving it but I'm safe and I'm ok !!! my life is not in danger. it hopefully will not progress any further now that I've talked to my boss about it and she made me file a student alert form abt the whole thing but !! yeah. it's been. a very frustrating few weeks here in the real world :/

omfg i am literally going to scream

so there's this guy, lets call him Logan. One thing about logan is that he's a MASSIVE DICKHEAD. Think of a type of ignorant (i.e. racist, sexist, etc.) and he's that.

me and logan have been in atleast one class together for 4 YEARS. i have had to deal with this guy being an asshole for 4 YEARS. this year he's in 2 of my classes and it sucks, spanish and math.

my favorite class (math) was infested with his assholery, but i still had a math outlet! my school has a Mu Alpha Theta chapter that's basically math club. i have known about it since 7th grade and was super excited to join because of my love of math!

it's application based so i turned it in and waited almost a month. spoiler alert, i got in! i was so so so excited until i saw my worst nightmare

logan had also, apparently, applied for MAO, despite no previous interest in math. and he had ALSO also, apparently, got in!

the only thing i was looking forward to this school year and the person i hate the most ever RUINED IT BEFORE IT EVEN STARTED

a lot of people are being lied to by their parents and teachers and pastors and a lot of people don't want to ever confront that fact. doesn't matter how much access to information has improved, i think the core of the issue is still primarily that people don't feel comfortable with changing their minds, whether it's because it'd isolate them from family, or because they'd have to confront that they were wrong or did something wrong. ive spoken to so many people my age where ive spent hours digging into their misfounded belief, figuring out what misinfo they were told and why, used the internet to firsthand show them exactly what lie they were told and empirical evidence of the truth, and then had them go, yeah, well, i still disagree. i mean, dont automatically assume someone is wrong because they have the same access to info as you and are just stupid, but willful ignorance is definitely still a thing.
