Feel free to ignore this if it's too confusing, I myself got a lil confused while writing this.
A'ight so.
✨siren!vaggie x human!fisherman!reader x siren!charlie✨
One of the two gets overly curious and gets caught in one of readers nets, maybe charlie (sounds like smth she would do) and reader finds her and vaggie trying to get her out. Reader pulls out her fish knife to cut the net but vaggie gets the wrong idea and tries to stubornly fight her on land with her bare hands while the reader is franticaly trying to explain that she just wants to help. Just some silly first meeting shenanigans.
OMG Y3S- THIS IS SUCU A GOOD IDEA HELLOz
Also Idk anything fishing. I went fishing once when I was a little kid also short fic♡♡
LIKE UH- Charlie being a siren which? Are cruel creatures the counterpart to mermaids who are innocent(in a human aspect) kind? Like she actually is? He'll y3ah.
Siren! Charlie x fisherman!reader x Siren!Vaggie: unexpected meeting
Being a fisherman is fun- you don't have to worry about other humans stealing from you. Not usually- nor interacting with them. Just can sit back on a your deck waiting for something to catch in your net.
But there's a huge downside. You'll have encounters with other monsters. Land or sea doesn't matter. But- the one you've always hoped to never encounter. The one you like all over fisherman were warned about.
Sirens.
As beautiful as they are- just like mermaids yet oh so different. Known for luring any human to crash or to get into the water. To eat. Hell apparently- they don't always need to eat. They hunt for sport.
They hunt humans for fun
Shivering at the thought, you hummed, having to be more cautious as you set a net out into the ocean humming softly. Apparently, more monsters have been spotted - blinking, you turned hearing your name be called seeing the grumpy old man go up to you huffing. "You be careful, ok, kid?" The man grumbled the as usual Beer in his hand, making you frown - raising an eyebrow, he grunted "you don't know do you?"
"Know what-"
"The fucking siren sightings" he cut you off growling glaring in the water "twos been spotted near the town. You gotta be careful. You know the rules with handling them, right?" Seeing you nod, he hummed, patting your shoulder "after you're done. Come to my bar. I'll get you a drink. On the house. Owe you one anyways-" without waiting, he walked off.
Sighing, you nodded, slowly moving to set out your net. Never was a fan of using the pole. Making sure it was ready, you cast it into the water moving to sit on the chair you brought along sighing.
Now. You wait.
-
It was uneventful. Hours you waited. Nothing- it usually didn't take this long to get a pull from any fish. It was always active. Now? It wasn't. Like the fishes weren't around.
It was weird.
You almost gave up abour to pull the net in calling it a day- wasn't unrare of getting nor good pulls. Just rare to get none.
Before a pull from the net making you grin, "YES!" You cheerer pulling the net in- needing to use more force "fuck big catch today huh-" taking so much longer to pull in then usual.
You wondered what fish you caught' or like your luck. What trash did you bring in
But the second you pulled the net our. You stared at the being in the net. "What the fuck" you choked out confused at what you were even looking at.
A siren.
A fucking siren is in your net.
"H-hi, my names Charlie-" the siren spoke speaking, but you didn't really hear her as you stared. Confused. "So uh.. can you.. let me go?"
"But.. your.. a siren. You'll know?" Gesturing to her claws making her look down yelping looking up at you like a kicked puppy. As if you just told her a horrifying thing
"I'd never hurt a human!" She stuttered out, shaking her hands,"not intentionally - accidentally yeah sure their like super fragile, but.. no- no- sorry i -" she rambled. Blinking, the more you watched, the more you sighed. She - wasn't actually that dangerous. Well. She is. All sirens are
But she was like- a puppy? A sea puppy,
"Ok"
She froze, looking up at you, confused, her rambling cut short "ok I'll get you free-... need to get my knife to cut you free. That's the only way ok?" Seeing her nod, you hummed, pulling out your large knife walking to her
A bubbling noise was heard as you cut the net freeing her- not seeing her panicked face. As she watched the water. "Hey, you ok -" you were cut off by a blur jumping out of the water snarling loudly with a deep hiss charging right at you
"VAGGIE! NO-" the one siren from the net screamed out as another jumped onto you cutting your arm making you kick her off scared- terrified.
Is this how you die? From helping a siren? To be killed by another?
How unlucky can you be?
Holding your cut arm from the grumpy snarling siren- apparently named Vaggie as Charlie? You think - rushed forward, smiling, acting as if she was a mermaid. But - she's a siren, right? "Oh! Yes! I am a siren! But uh.. don't worry, me and Vaggie won't hurt you well... not again!" Charlie laughed awkwardly, rubbing her neck making you flush in embarrassment.
You said that aloud.
Sighing, glancing at vaggie, kicking the knife you used to free the taller siren for from you praying. That wasn't a mistake the snarling slowed, calming down "no no- i- sorry I was just trying to get some food- I uh- didnt mean to trap you.. didn't know sirens like- came here?"
Charlie grinned, nodding excited "oh! Me and my girlfriend Vaggie-" gesturing to the grumpy siren who glared you down "were cutting through were to meet with some mermaids-!" Smiling happy ad you hummed
"Mermaids? Seriously. Ok- Charlie, right?" Seeing her nod in agreement, making you hum softly "the mermaids aren't here. Well not now. Their off doing some hunting and what not. But careful you two. People know your here and not everyone will be nice like I am to you two"
That caused Vaggie to be on edge more so then she was already while Charlie? Didn't look worried at all.
Which concerned you.
"Wait' Charlie- don't tell me are you still gonna continu-" you were cut off by Charlie jumping into the lake. Swimming off as Vaggie stared at you. Unreadable
"I'm sorry" she spoke for the first time Grunting it out as if she never- or hardly spoke or apologied "Charlie does this. Jumps into things without much thought" making you nod slowly trying to understand- before you could reply to her.
She was gone. Following Charlie.
Staring off watching them both disappear you sighed. "..that's it I quit" you grumbled turning to pack up

Part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4

part 5
An excruciating headache pulses through my temples, interrupting my dream. I release a frustrated groan and squint my eyes, sitting up on the bed.
I stretch and yawn, rubbing my eyes with one hand.
How on earth much did I drink yesterday?
I widen my eyes and look around in confusion, immediately realizing this wasn't my bedroom. I blink and instinctively lift off the black linen sheets, sighing in relief when I see that I'm still wearing the same clothes from yesterday.
The room was quite spacious, simple, and rather charming, I must admit. The king-size bed was very comfortable, a wardrobe stood next to it, and a door, presumably leading to a bathroom, was right in front of me.
I turn my attention to my phone on the nightstand, pick it up, and put it in my pocket. I hear some background noises, so I step out of bed, walking in my socks towards the sound.
Slowly, I open the door and look around the room. In the living room, Professor Ortega is sitting on the couch, watching TV with a blanket draped around her shoulders.
Jenna?
The sound of my footsteps catches Jenna's attention away from the show she's watching, and she turns towards me with a smile on her lips.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," Jenna jokes, getting up from the couch while still holding the blanket around her body.
She looks absolutely adorable, like a burrito.
I place a hand on my temple, feeling a sudden pang of pain. Jenna looks at me with concern and a hint of reproach.
She walks to the kitchen, which is literally adjacent to the living room, and opens various cabinets, searching for something. She stands on tiptoes, grabs a glass from the shelf, takes a bottle of water from the fridge and pours some into the glass, then puts the bottle back in its place. She takes a pill from a drawer and walks over to me with everything in hand.
"Here you go... you were pretty beat up yesterday," she makes a grimace with her lips and hands me the glass and the pill. It's a Tachipirina (a pain reliever). I thank her and swallow the pill, hoping it will take effect soon.
She timidly takes my hand, leading me to the couch. The sensation of her hand around mine makes my heart skip a beat. Professor Ortega removes a few cushions and sits down, inviting me to do the same.
She breaks contact between our hands and picks up the remote, turning off the TV. She wraps the blanket around herself, covering her lips and nose with the fabric, leaving only her eyes visible. I smile at the relatively tender gesture. Intense coffee-colored eyes gaze at me without blinking.
"You don't remember anything, do you?" Her question sounds muffled due to the blanket covering her lips. I squint, trying to concentrate and remember something.
Suddenly, a river of memories from last night's party floods my mind.
[ flashback ]
The alcohol flowed through my veins, the deafening music was pounding in my ears, yet at the same time, it allowed my body to move to the rhythm of its notes. I grab a brimming glass of beer from a girl's hand, not thinking at all, disrupting the atmosphere of my bubble. I gulp down the liquid in one sip and throw the glass on the floor, screaming with joy.
I had lost sight of Enid for a while. The blonde had maneuvered her way into the crowd when we entered, most likely to join her boyfriend.
I raise my arms to the sky and sway my hips, slightly out of sync due to the amount of alcohol in my system. A barely noticeable vibration occurs in the back pocket of my pants, and I lean against the wall to maintain my balance as I take out my phone.
It's 11:27 PM, and I've received a message from Jenna.
Jenna: Hey, sorry for replying now. I was reading some assignments and lost track of time.
Jenna: Silly you :'3
I smile, probably looking like an idiot, and start typing on the screen, seeing things slightly doubled.
N0t... a w0rry... y3s... F1nE
Jenna had already read the message.
Jenna: T/A... are you drunk?
It's the first time she's called me by my last name, and tears form at the corners of my eyes. Jenna is mad at me. Plus, alcohol is making me much more sensitive.
Jenna's smiling face appears on my screen, and I struggle to tap the green icon to accept the call.
"Heyyyyyy," I emphasize the "y," smiling again.
I hear a sigh from the other end.
"T/N... are you drunk?" Jenna mutters to herself. "Where the hell are you?" I can barely hear her voice.
I head towards the stairs leading to the upper floor, seeking some privacy. I avoid a couple of passionately kissing couples and slip into an empty room, luckily.
"I'm at Smith's house," I answer, relieved that I can no longer hear the deafening music.
"Send me the address, I'm coming to get you," Jenna responds in a stern tone, ending the call.
[ flashback end ]
My eyes shift to Jenna, who had meanwhile removed the blankets. Professor Ortega was looking at me, presumably waiting for me to finish my thoughts. She bites her lower lip absentmindedly.
"Oh my god... you came to get me," I exclaim in surprise, looking at Professor Ortega with flushed cheeks. Jenna nods, settling herself on the couch, trying to find a comfortable position.
"Yes... and when I arrived, you were with a girl," she admits, swallowing nervously, subtly rolling her eyes. "Enid?" I ask, scratching my head awkwardly. She slowly shakes her head.
"Olivia," she admits, getting up from the couch.
"Olivia?"
Oh..."
[ flashback]
As I descended the stairs after sending the address to Jenna, I spotted Edward in the distance. The host had his arms draped around a girl's head, leaning in as he kissed her neck. Almost instinctively, I walked in their direction, noticing the displeased expression on the girl's face.
She clearly didn't want to be there.
Leaning against a wall, I struggled to maintain my balance. With gleaming eyes, I watched the couple, clenching my jaw as I saw the girl attempting to fend off the guy's advances.
"Hey..." I yelled, grabbing the girl's attention. Dark eyes looked at me with a pleading expression as she used her arms to push Edward away, though he was bigger and stronger than her. Placing a hand on Edward's shoulder, I pulled him away from the girl. The stumbling host glared at me with anger.
"What do you want, T/A? Can't you see we were having fun?" he gritted his teeth, looking at me irritably.
I shifted my gaze to the girl, who had discreetly positioned herself behind me. Edward walked towards her, but I placed a hand against his chest, preventing her from moving. Edward looked at me with a puzzled expression, his eyes red and glistening. "She doesn't... want," I said seriously, attempting to dissuade him. Edward chuckled, ignoring my words.
With a strength and balance I didn't know I had, I punched his right jaw, causing him to step back a few paces and clutch his face in pain. He glared at me, absolutely furious. "What the hell..." he touched his sore jaw, "are you an idiot or something?" I looked at him, a smile on my face, pleased that I had managed to land a punch.
Edward took a step towards me, but a hand on his shoulder halted him. One of his friends whispered something in his ear, and with some difficulty, he was led away by his friend before our altercation escalated into something more serious. Some bystanders who had stopped to watch left nonchalantly, since the fight had already ended.
"Are you okay?" I turned my attention back to the girl. She had black eyes and long straight hair that gracefully cascaded down her shoulders. While her face was not entirely clear to me, I could discern her Asian features. "I'm Olivia, Olivia Rodrigo, and yes... I'm fine, thanks," the girl gave me a shy smile, and I returned the gesture. For a split second, I lost my balance, and two arms wrapped around my waist.
"Everything okay?" she inquired, her voice right next to my ear. Her breath lightly brushed against my cheek. I nodded, starting to walk.
"Exit..." I stammered, my gaze fixed on the door of the house. With one arm around my waist, the girl guided me towards the exit.
I was so intoxicated that I could barely make out Jenna in the crowd. The professor looked around, clearly concerned.
Can you believe it? Jenna... here... The thought itself was amusing.
I began to giggle, and from the corner of my eye, I noticed Olivia smiling, making room for us amidst the teenagers. My mouth fell open in surprise when I saw two unmistakable coffee-colored eyes staring at me. Jenna took a few steps forward and stopped in front of us.
She was clad in a sweatshirt, her hair pulled back in a ponytail. Her eyes appeared noticeably tired, indicating she was sleepy.
"Jennaaaa," I said, smiling at her.
Jenna rolled her eyes, visibly annoyed, and leaned towards me. Suddenly, her gaze fixed on Olivia, and she made a face when she saw her arm around my waist.
Is it just me, or is Jenna annoyed?
"Thanks... but now I'll take care of her," Jenna practically shouted, attempting to make herself heard over the noise. Olivia hesitantly released her hold on my waist, allowing me to move into Jenna's arms.
Hmm... I love her scent.
With some difficulty, we maneuvered our way towards the exit of the house.
[ flashback end]
I get up from the couch, searching for Jenna's figure with my eyes. In the meantime, Professor Ortega has moved to the kitchen, cooking something.
She looks at me from the corner of her eye, giving me a shy smile.
"Thank you... for yesterday," I confess, and she shakes her head, looking at the piece of meat in the pot. "Don't worry," she says absentmindedly, adding a bit of salt.
A question haunts me.
"Did... you sleep... with me?" I ask, and she turns her head towards me. Jenna, with a slight smile on her lips, shakes her head. A feeling of discomfort and disappointment wells up in my stomach.
"I slept on the couch," she shrugs nonchalantly, giving me a small smile.
My eyes move to the table next to the raven-haired woman. It's set for two people. With a rumble in my stomach, I look at Jenna with sparkling eyes. Professor Ortega lifts a spatula and smiles at me.
"How about we eat now?" she suggests, looking at me curiously.
I nod, wholeheartedly agreeing with the splendid idea.
[...]
On Monday afternoon, Professor Asher Spencer had subjected me to an incredibly strenuous workout.
Presumably seeking revenge for disrupting the moment with Jenna last time, the professor had me run for half an hour around the track during football team practice. Several times, he whistled as if urging me to pick up the pace, and in return, I shot him a disgruntled look.
"You need to make up for the poor performance in the previous class."
To make matters worse, I hadn't done it because I was unwell on Thursday afternoon. Apparently, he wanted me to catch up on it on a day when we didn't even have classes, solely for the purpose of punishing me.
With my lungs burning, craving as much oxygen as possible, and my legs wobbly, I completed the final meters while Asher stopped the stopwatch. Exhausted, I collapsed onto the red earth of the track.
He wore a satisfied smile.
"Go change," he jotted something in his notebook, glancing at me briefly, "then you can go home." He shot me a smug grin and subsequently walked over to the field to supervise the team.
I clenched my jaw tightly and got up from the ground, wiping sweat off my forehead. I practically stole a forgotten water bottle from the grass and took a deep gulp, closing my eyes to savor the refreshing sensation.
I sighed from fatigue and entered the locker room. Walking to the benches, I grabbed a towel from my bag. I removed my shirt and tried to wipe off as much sweat as possible, followed by applying deodorant. I didn't like showering at school, so I decided to wait until I got home.
I rinsed my face with cold water and rubbed some onto my hair, attempting to alleviate the unbearable heat. Suspiciously, I looked towards the entrance of the girls' locker room as I heard the door open, and my confusion turned to a smile when I saw Olivia Rodrigo.
Olivia Rodrigo was the cheerleading captain, and when I met her the other day, I had a nagging feeling that her face was familiar. The Latina girl was wearing a skirt and top in our prestigious school's colors, holding pom-poms in her hands, her hair in a high ponytail, and her lips painted red.
Her eyes traced along my figure, giving me an almost hungry look. Clearing my throat, I realized I hadn't put my shirt back on yet, and I awkwardly pulled it over my head, adjusting my hair. Her gaze shifted from my stomach to my eyes.
"Everything okay?" I grabbed my bag, slinging it over my shoulder. Olivia Rodrigo fidgeted on the spot, giving me a shy smile.
"I wanted to thank you for Friday..." she confessed, playing with her fingers nervously. I offered her a timid smile and shook my head.
"No need to thank me... it's everyone's duty to intervene in such situations," I said, walking towards the locker room exit with my bag in hand. I approached the girl, and I immediately noticed that she was significantly shorter than me.
Just like Jenna.
An involuntary smile crept onto my lips as I recalled the lunch from the other day. Jenna and I had spent two hours chatting and laughing, discussing school or life choices. Professor Ortega had shown me pictures of her sisters, parents, and even her pets from her old family home in California. Later, we watched a movie, and around 6 pm, she had driven me home, giving me a quick hug.
I shook off my reverie and focused my attention on the brunette.
"What if I thank you by inviting you for a coffee at Starbucks?" she offered with a charming smile. "We can go after tomorrow's field trip," she suggested, shrugging nonchalantly.
"Field trip? What field trip?" I asked, slightly disoriented. Olivia tilted her head, looking at me seriously.
"Tomorrow we're going paintballing... remember? A fun day out! How could you forget?" She chuckled softly, giving me a friendly nudge on the side.
My eyes widened in realization. A few days ago, Professor Asher had mentioned something about paintballing, but I wasn't paying attention since I didn't care much about what he was saying. I smiled, remembering that Jenna would be coming with us too; she had mentioned it the other day, saying she would "destroy me," but I had forgotten about it until now.
I looked at Olivia with a mischievous grin. "How about the loser buys the coffee?" I proposed, and she raised her chin with authority, convinced that she was clearly superior to me.
"Get ready to cry," she declared, and I looked at her indignantly. I smiled at her and waved as I walked towards the Nevermore parking lot, the smile still plastered on my lips.
"If you need to call... you know I'm always here... just write to me," I smiled, and she did the same, nodding her head.
I'd better move if I want to avoid falling into Enid's clutches.
As I walked towards the school's parking lot, I saw Jenna in the distance. Professor Ortega had the car keys in her hand and was wearily walking towards her BMW. She bit her lower lip, looking worried.
"Jenna?" I called out her name loudly, trying to make myself heard from a distance. Jenna turned towards me and smiled timidly, brushing a rebellious strand of hair from her face. I approached the dark-haired girl, raising an eyebrow in confusion when I saw her bloodshot eyes.
Jenna rubbed one of her eyes with her hand, trying to remove the evidence of her tears.
With a soft thud, I dropped my bag to the ground.
My shoulders relaxed, and I looked at Professor Ortega with concern, wondering what was happening to her. Jenna smiled at me, her lips trembling, and her brown eyes brimming with tears. Instinctively, I wiped a tear from her right cheek with my thumb, feeling sorry to see her in this state. She clenched her jaw and wrapped her arms around my shoulders, no longer able to hide her true emotions, bursting into tears against my neck. Her shoulders shook convulsively under her sobs, and my heart ached, wondering why this young girl was so broken.
I placed a hand along her back, trying to offer her as much comfort as I could.
After a few minutes, Jenna broke the embrace, looking at me with glistening eyes and a small smile of gratitude. She timidly wiped away the remaining tears with her shirt sleeve, sniffing. I moved a hand along her face, using two fingers to lift her chin so she could see my eyes. The sunlight reflecting off her face highlighted the freckles around her nose, making her eyes appear slightly lighter.
"What happened?" I asked timidly, curious and concerned about the possible answer. "I know I'm just a student... but I'm good at listening," I smiled as I noticed Jenna had pulled the corners of her mouth into a shy smile.
I withdrew my hand from her face and looked at her with a slight smile on my lips.
"You're not just a student, T/N," she admitted, causing my heart to skip a beat and shivers to run down my spine due to the intensity of her gaze. "Nothing happened... it's just stress... some students and teachers drain me... lately, I haven't been sleeping at night, and damn it... I'm so tired," she huffed, crossing her arms against her chest.
"Tonight, go to bed early, okay? Otherwise, tomorrow won't be fun trying to beat you if you're asleep against a tree," I tried to lift her spirits, jokingly. Jenna gave me a weak punch on the shoulder and chuckled, amused by my words.
"Thank you... you've helped me shake off this mountain of stress," she looked at me through her long lashes, giving me a precious smile.
"It was the second person who thanked me today."
I winked at her and offered a shy smile. "Don't mention it. Sometimes crying helps relieve tension," I said as I picked up my bag from the floor and slung it over my shoulder. Jenna fiddled with the keys to her car. Professor Ortega smiled at me, this time with more happiness and noticeably brighter.
She locked eyes with me, her coffee-colored irises locking onto mine. Damn it... I could get lost in her gaze. The sudden honk of a horn made us startle and break the atmosphere that had formed between the two of us.
"Surely it's Enid," I muttered, absentmindedly biting my lower lip.
I began to walk towards the Nevermore parking lot, still looking at Jenna with a smile plastered on my lips. "If you need to call... you know I'm always here... just message me," I smiled, and she did the same, nodding her head.
I better move if I want to avoid being caught in Enid's clutches.
[ the next day]
"Mmmmmh," I groan, burying my face in the pillow as I hear the sound of the blinds being raised. I let out an annoyed grunt as the sunlight hits my eyelids, disturbing my sleep.
"T/N, darling, weren't you supposed to go on the field trip today?" My mother's absentminded question immediately jolts me awake. I hurriedly get out of bed, stumbling in the process. From the floor, I look up to see my mother giving me a puzzled look while holding a basket of dirty laundry.
I hastily remove my shirt and pants, trying to change as quickly as possible. With a toothbrush in my mouth, I glance at the notifications on my phone. I have 5 missed calls from Enid and 3 messages from Professor Ortega.
Jenna:
"Are you there?"
Jenna:
"Is it getting late... are you coming or not? Are you afraid of losing by any chance?"
Jenna:
"The bus will be here in 20 minutes, hurry up!"
And this message was sent 5 minutes ago. I spit out the toothpaste, gargle with mouthwash, and grab my backpack. I rush downstairs, narrowly avoiding Tex, my dog. He's a German Shepherd. I enter the kitchen and see my family having breakfast.
"Are you still here? Do you want a ride?" my father asks while flipping pancakes. I shake my head and quickly slip on a sock with both hands.
"I still have 10 minutes," I mutter, grabbing an apple and holding it between my teeth. In a rush, I put on my shoes and sling my backpack over my shoulder. I say goodbye to my family, tousle my younger brother's hair, and rush out the door.
"I love you!" I shout as my parting words echo in the house. Without waiting for a response, I close the door and literally sprint towards the school.
(...)
"HERE I AM!" I shout into the air as I spot Jenna leaning against the bus door in the distance. Her coffee-colored eyes give me a reproachful look, yet there's a timid smile on her lips. With flushed cheeks, I walk past her and climb the steps, apologizing to the bus driver for being late.
The bus is quite full, but there's an empty seat by the window in the front row. Enid smiles at me from the back of the bus, wordlessly apologizing for not saving me a seat. I shake my head and sit down by the window, feeling slightly annoyed that we've already arrived.
"Hey, T/N," I hear from behind, and I turn to see Olivia with her friend sitting next to her. The Latina girl gives me a shy smile as she holds her phone in her hands.
"Hi, Olivia," I smile, slightly breathless.
"For a moment, I was afraid you wouldn't come... I was about to message you on IG," she confesses, chuckling softly. Her friend leans in to whisper something in her ear, and Olivia glances at me briefly, her cheeks tinted with red.
Then Olivia playfully nudges her friend, and the friend pulls on Olivia's hair, causing Rodrigo's irritation. I settle into my seat, tired, and also to avoid witnessing any potential argument between the two girls. My gaze drifts to the driver's side, and I smile as my eyes meet Jenna's.
Professor Ortega holds onto the pole, looking a bit uncomfortable with the arrangement. She's wearing simple track pants and a blue t-shirt, probably opting for these clothes in case they get dirty. She gives me a shy smile as a brief greeting.
She looks around and hesitantly walks in my direction, taking the seat next to me. She leans in, and her fragrance wafts into my nose, making me smile at the pleasant scent.
"I see you made it after all... I was starting to worry," she offers a shy smile.
"My alarm didn't go off this morning," I shrug nonchalantly, giving her a mischievous grin. "Were you waiting for me, Miss Ortega?" She rolls her eyes at my comment and smiles, revealing her dimples. "Don't play dumb," I exclaim with mock indignation, placing a hand over my chest as if in pain. "Ouch, Jenna!" I pretend to wipe away an imaginary tear, and she chuckles softly at my theatrics.
The bus comes to a stop, surprising me.
"Make sure not to cry later, okay? I wouldn't want to give you false hopes of winning," Jenna mutters, getting up from her seat and walking towards the bus exit. I grip my backpack's strap and stand up to follow the other students, slightly annoyed that we've already arrived.
"All this fuss for a 10-minute bus ride," I remark, looking at Xavier. He nods, waiting for his best friend to make his way to us, hand in hand with Enid.
We disembark from the bus, and I smile at the sight of various trees around, closing my eyes and taking in the fresh air. With purposeful steps, we approach a small wooden cabin.
A man in his 40s stands there impatiently.
"ALRIGHT!" he yells, capturing the attention of the teenagers. I stand next to Enid as we listen to the words of the owner of this place. Jenna and Asher, the only teachers, stand by the man's side.
I had completely forgotten about Asher. I clench my jaw, trying to avoid showing my disgust towards him.
"Does anyone know how paintball works?" he asks, sounding almost bored by the situation. A hand goes up from the crowd, but he blatantly ignores it. Enid absentmindedly grabs my wrist, drawing closer to me.
"We're on the same team, right?" she whispers in my ear, and I nod.
"The goal of the two teams is to eliminate the members of the opposing team as many times as possible within a time limit. When a player is hit, they can't shoot and must return to base to 'respawn.' Touching the base brings the player back into the game. The referees, in this case, me, will count every eliminated player," he explains, grabbing a paintball projectile.
"Alright... now divide yourselves into four teams and get the necessary gear."
He concludes, walking towards the professors, probably discussing the cost.
Enid, Olivia, Xavier, and a few others I don't know head towards the blue equipment. Excitedly, we put on chest protectors and the game jerseys. My eyes wander to Jenna, who's on a team with people I've never seen before. Fortunately, Asher is in another group along with Ajax and his buddies.
"I'm so excited," Enid exclaims, putting on her protective mask and tying the blue bandana around her arm. "I want to beat Ajax; we have a bet to win." She smiles widely, and I reciprocate, happy for her competitive spirit. Xavier struggles to put on gloves and a neck protector while keeping his weapon on the ground. I catch a glimpse of Olivia, slightly nervous, clutching her paintball marker to her chest. She gives me a sweet smile, letting me know she's okay, and I nod in response.
I turn my attention back to Jenna, a mischievous smile forming on my lips as I see her putting on the chest protector. I bite my lower lip playfully and raise my paintball marker, aiming at her backside. With one eye closed, I fire a shot at Jenna, causing her to scream in surprise.
Professor Ortega turns in my direction, unconsciously touching her rear and feeling the dampness of the paint. Her mouth drops open in astonishment as she places two fingers on the spot that was hit, finding blue paint. Her eyes gleam with a desire for revenge, keeping her paintball marker firmly in her hands.
Without breaking eye contact, she smears the paint along her cheek, creating a war paint-like design as soldiers do. I bite my lower lip, trying to hold back laughter, and I wink at Jenna.
"Nice shot, T/N," Enid says amidst laughter, making me smile. Jenna turns toward her group, beginning to talk to them, giving me a quick glance.
It wouldn't end here.
(...)
With my breaths uneven, I clung tightly to my paintball marker, glancing around the tree to see if anyone was nearby. Brushing a lock of hair from my face, I clenched my jaw and prepared to change my position.
In this hour and a half of gameplay, the teams with the fewest eliminations were the Blue team, mine, and Asher's. Before splitting up, we had devised a plan where Enid and Xavier would head to the east side of the woods, aiming to reach the enemy teams' flags directly. So far, we had only captured one flag, eliminating a team whose members I couldn't recall. Olivia, her friend, and a couple of guys would stay to guard our flag while I focused on eliminating as many opponents as possible.
They would return to base, but they had to wait 10 minutes before rejoining the game.
I knelt down and leaned toward a fallen dead tree, hearing footsteps approaching. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Asher pass by with Ajax, and I smiled, seizing the opportunity. I picked up a small pebble from the ground and threw it to divert the two guys' attention.
Enid would be pleased to know I'd gotten back at him.
As soon as the pebble hit the ground, the two turned toward the sound, ready to shoot at the source. I stood up and began firing at their chests, hitting their chest protectors. Asher shot me a deadly glare, while Ajax seemed baffled by how I'd managed to trick them.
"You'll pay for this, T/A," Asher muttered through gritted teeth, gripping his paintball marker tightly. I nodded, feeling proud of having temporarily eliminated him, and walked in another direction, slightly crouched to avoid being spotted.
"The Blue team has captured the Green team's flag. Two teams remaining," I exulted inwardly when I realized it was his team's flag we had taken.
I aimed my marker in various directions, analyzing potential threats. I walked slowly, avoiding twigs and dry leaves to remain unnoticed. A Cheshire cat-like smile stretched across my lips as I spotted Jenna Ortega in the distance.
The calculus professor leaned against the corner of two walls, sighing tiredly and slightly agitated from the adrenaline rush. She stood on tiptoe, peering over the wall, her paintball marker resting against her back. I bit my lip and slowly made my way toward her, attempting to catch her off guard.
"BOO," I whispered in her ear, causing her to scream in fright. Jenna turned toward me, her eyes wide, and her breathing heavy. Her hands pushed against my chest, trying to force me to the ground. As I slid against the ground, I grabbed Jenna's wrist with one hand, causing her to fall against my chest.
"Are you an idiot?" she whispered through gritted teeth after regaining her balance, looking at me with her arms on either side of my head. "You scared me to death." I winced at the pain but smiled when I saw Jenna's expression.
"That was my goal," I admitted, running my tongue over my lower lip.
The tension in her shoulders melted away, and her eyes softened. There was still a blue paint stain on her cheek, a light sheen of sweat on her forehead. Her eyes were fixed on mine, and I sighed as I saw how close our faces were, noticing the freckles around her face.
Unconsciously, I raised my hand and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, leaving my hand on her cheek. With a half-smile on my lips, I brushed some dirt from her face with my thumb.
"Are you okay?" I asked, concerned. I wasn't sure if the fall had hurt her, even though I cushioned the impact. But regardless, I wanted to know if she was alright. Jenna gazed intensely at me, nervously swallowing her saliva. She looked away from my eyes, shifting her attention to my lips, then slowly nodded.
"Yeah..." she whispered, her breath grazing my lips. My heart began to race against my ribcage, and I nervously looked at Jenna in anticipation. With a hesitant tilt of her head, Professor Ortega smiled slightly. Our faces, like magnets, drew closer until our lips finally touched, igniting the long-awaited kiss.
Jenna sighed and tentatively moved her lips against mine, increasing the rhythm of the kiss. I trailed my hand along her jawline, stopping at her neck, curling my fingers to draw her closer to my face, erasing any remaining distance. My heart pounded wildly, and with a smile, I savored this first experience, melting into her soft, plump, and delicious lips. Her teeth bit into my lower lip, making me moan from the pain and surprise.
The need for oxygen became apparent, and reluctantly, we had to break the contact between our mouths. Our eyes immediately locked, and her lips curved into a beautiful smile, to which I reflexively responded.
A few seconds later, fear appeared in her irises, and she looked at me in horror. As if my touch on her skin was burning her, she quickly rose from the ground, staring at me sternly.
"This... this wasn't supposed to happen," she shook her head and bit her lip, lost in thought. My heart shattered slowly at her words, and I shook my head in disappointment. My heart pounding in my throat, I took a step forward and grabbed Jenna's wrist, catching her eye.
"You... I like you, Jenna," the truth that I had been trying to avoid saying for too long escaped naturally from my mouth, lifting a weight off my shoulders. Jenna looked at me intensely, her eyes pleading with me not to make things any more difficult than they already were. She slipped off the arm band and let it fall to the ground, wanting to escape the situation.
"I'm sorry," Jenna murmured weakly, gripping her paintball marker and quickly walking away from me, clearly intending to avoid me.
With teary eyes, I watched as my first kiss walked away, my heart breaking into a thousand pieces.
Guys, I would really love to receive some comments... I don't care if they're positive or not, but I need to know how you're finding this story.

Have you played Yakuza 6 yet? If so ya got any kazumaji head canons based off the events of the game?
I absolutely love your ideas for them and I am beyond upset that Majima was barley in the game. Or even mentioned that much.
They did the boi dirty in this game, I swear.
*clenches my ass hard enough to shit diamonds*
oh I have OPINIONS about 6 I'll tell you that but it is good fodder for the kazumaji agenda 👀 I'mma be kinda rambly in this but I promise it all ties together kdjfjkldfkldf
so we all know Kiryu goes off to find Haruka and because I'm a big fan of dadjima, I can only imagine Kiryu lets him know while he's stuck in jail and Majima's just like WHAT
so Kiryu does a lot of self reflection but acting upon it is another matter. I can see Majima chastising him, saying she ran away cuz that's all Kiryu ever does (part of him is still pissy about him leaving in y3) and she's never had a healthy role model other than the king of hypocrisy. Kiryu would go on about how it's just to protect people yada yada but Majima would be like my guy, you left a bunch of kids in the care of your daughter who should not be parenting for you. you refuse any and all help because you think you can do it all on your own. you left me with Daigo who you said I wouldn't be babysitting AND YET—
I just want Majima to absolutely rail into him about how self serving he's acted despite better intentions. like of course Haruka ran away, look how much pressure she was under, what she went through in the idol bizz (maybe I'm a loser but I did not like Haruka's part in y5 that shit icked me), what you (Kiryu) do every time you feel like a burden to people. how naïve it was to think any part of Kiryu's past would leave him behind just because he wanted it to. how his lone wolf thing impedes on everybody else. how in 5 he literally says he needs to stop running from his past and he does it anyway. this game FRUSTRATES ME rrhrrhhrhrr KIRYU FRUSTRATES ME ACK. but also I have a thing for Majima just being angry at him, to actually lash out and spew all those feelings of being left behind or being refused to let help because Kiryu's stubborn. how he let himself be used all those years to help Kiryu out just because he asked and now once again Kiryu's off on his own, never changing his tune about how he doesn't wanna rely on people. Majima's not perfect either and frankly he communicates like shit too but I just want that RAGE to get out and explore how Kiryu would hear him but never listen. makes it all the more tragic when he finds out Kiryu "died."
*tho I must note, as much as it does irritate me, 6 makes sense entirely for Kiryu's character lol. nothing he does in it surprises me in the slightest so while I'm not a fan of the story, it's pretty fitting for him since he's the downfall of his own story half the time. and it's not so simple as just saying Kiryu's to blame. he's constantly forced to deal with shit just as much as he wants to be left alone. he struggles and he tries hard I'll give him that. I don't think he's a bad person for what he aimed to do in 6 but he's not infallible either. and sometimes it's just par for the course. like how he makes the compromise at the end of the game to disappear so his family can be at peace all the while in his history, he's had major problems doing what he's told - never truly disappearing anyway, going about whatever's gonna happen in gaiden. could you imagine if Haruka caught wind that some resting bitch face motherfucker is beating the shit outta armies somewhere? could you imagine her finding out that Kiryu left again?
honestly I think his character is really interesting cuz of this. he has good intentions and I feel like to him there's some expectation that people should understand this, that people should accept his choices. I think it's fun to explore how others react to that - how it's in a way offensive, that Kiryu thinks he knows what's best and how to handle it as if he has all the power and say. how pissed people feel about him shoving them away for the sake of their safety, etc. I don't think he'd listen to Majima tbh but I think it's important that someone unafraid of Kiryu's dumbassery would lay it out how it is to him in a way that cuts, more so than Haruka, Date or like Akiyama could.
ANYWAY, Majima's mad at him lol but can't really do anything atm due to the surrounding circumstances. I like to think he's got some of the Majima family watching out for Kiryu and Haruka if they happened to see them. Nishida at least cuz ain't no one gonna arrest a cutie patootie like him. it's not much but it's a little peace of mind. Majima knows Kiryu's reckless as all hell so he's worried and doubly annoyed that Kiryu doesn't care (about his own safety or that other people are concerned for him).
so since Majima has a fat 5 minutes in the whole game, there's not much to say about his involvement overall (other than oopsie stuck in jail) but I've had some thoughts about what all the jimas³ are doing in the meantime.
all the jimas are grouped together because I said so even tho realistically they'd prolly be separated lol. Daigo and Saejima are handling things well enough but Majima's bouncing off the walls in boredom and nothing irks him more than being stuck in one spot while Kiryu's out probably getting hit over the head with a stop sign and refusing medical attention. Daigo's losing his mind but he can agree Kiryu's bullheaded and talking about that keeps Majima distracted. Saejima does his part in trying to get Majima's mind off things now that they have all the time in the world to catch up on whatever.
Tumblr media
time passes and I'm rewriting the part in 6 where they show up at the end cuz I live in a fantasy world.
Kiryu "dies" and suddenly the three of them are released early, no doubt knowing his death had something to do with it. Daigo gets Kiryu's letter and Majima makes some joke about Kiryu's literacy but a quick scan of the letter makes Daigo's face drop. he reads it and Majima doesn't think it's real. he doesn't know how to feel. even Saejima is in disbelief. but the letter is vague. it's conjecture written by Kiryu of his own death so there's a chance he's fine. Kiryu's fine, he's always fine. he's been shot and stabbed a million times, he's fine.
but it's not long till it's confirmed by Date. Daigo's skeptical cuz his inner punkass doesn't trust cops. Saejima's on the same page but Majima's in full denial whilst also believing it to be true. his reaction is immediate and violent. he wants something to be done, he wants revenge but Daigo wants to follow Kiryu's wish to avoid war. Majima's so outraged he frankly couldn't give less of a shit about Kiryu's wishes so it's up to Saejima to wrangle him back *insert a dramatic fight here.* Majima gets his ass beat and he's just a mess. things move fast though - the fate of the clan is up in the air and he just couldn't care. but Daigo needs him and for that he pulls it together, just barely.
fast forward to when the jimas go into hiding. they get set up in a lil safehouse via Nick Ogata. I like to see it as a basic bitch type of place, very out of the way, very ignorable but the inside is nice enough. they have to stay cooped up as much as possible and it drives Majima insane. he's fidgety, always pacing. Saejima tries to calm him down and it works for a time until Majima falls into another slump and repeats.
Tumblr media
they took a few things with them that they could, mostly small stuff, some clothes and the like. Majima brought along a few of Kiryu's things, namely some pocket cars and a shirt. he wears it often, being very against washing it. Daigo's too stressed to notice but Saejima watches Majima just break down into someone he doesn't know. he's tired, closed off, guilt ridden. Saejima starts to think this is who Majima was after getting out of the Hole. a shell of a person taking blame for things out of his control. losing the will to care for himself as some sort of self imposed punishment for not doing more. seething in silence in the powerlessness.
his beard grows scraggly, his hair is unkept and the circles under his eye grows darker everyday. his behavior mimics his Sotenbori days where everything was for Saejima, all he could think about was Saejima, how he failed him, how if he tried hard enough he could see him again. it's not the case with Kiryu though. he didn't even get to see the body himself.
he's always on his phone reliving memories through photos and conversations. he freaks out when anyone touches the pocket cars and eventually the shirt gets worn out. he's spiraling while the others look on, unsure how to deal with someone whose entire personality revolves around having a fake one.
Tumblr media
Saejima takes initiative. maybe he's seen Majima like this before or maybe he hasn't. doesn't matter because he gives Majima a bit of tough love, telling him to get a grip. telling him that Kiryu wouldn't want to see him like this and, under his breath, he needs him in better shape so they can beat the shit outta whoever was responsible. it's not easy of course. it takes Majima awhile to learn how to live again and frankly he doesn't want to talk about Kiryu but Saejima forces him to - to get comfortable with mentioning him, enjoying the memories they had. letting him know it's okay to be vulnerable. it's not a kind or pleasant recovery but it's there. it's helping.
and perhaps some time under supervision, he goes to see Haruka and meets Haruto for the first time. he tries to keep a strong façade for her but she can see right through him and gets one of those rare moments where he's just quiet. where he's real. she catches him up on things and it's a rough one for the both of them, especially since he has to keep the visit short. she doesn't bother asking him where he's going afterward but he promises to keep in touch and that he does. she sends him a lot of photos and videos of the family and he backseat-parents Yuta whenever possible. Haruka's never been a fan of always having Kiryu at arms length but this arrangement helps her deal with the long distance since there's effort on both ends to stay close.
Majima's not used to having others around to help him cope but he eases into it decently enough without the Tojo Clan on his shoulders. he even gets along better with Daigo who has time now to focus more on himself and the grunge within his soul. he's a silly lil dork and that charm reminds him of Kiryu but in a way that doesn't send him spiraling. he starts to see all reminders of Kiryu in a more hopeful light, one that brings back his energy. for most of their home confinement, Majima wouldn't even go out as Goromi since half his confidence came from Kiryu's support. but now and then, with Saejima and Daigo backing him, he can tiptoe a bit back into his fav dresses, ones that Kiryu gave him, ones that hurt to put on because of the baggage they carry. he doesn't even have his wigs anymore so he assembles what he can, how he can into something he knows Kiryu would have called pretty regardless. it stills hurts but it helps.
Tumblr media
but, he'll always dip back into the pain of it all. missing intimacy and things taken for granted. he regrets his last words with Kiryu were criticisms knowing he's not perfect himself. maybe he's faced with realizations that he can't survive without certain people, that his attachment issues are brought to the forefront for everyone to see. it's ugly and embarrassing and for the first time in a long time he feels very seen. death's always been a reality for him and he's never cared much for it in regards to himself but losing someone so close, so suddenly? without closure or goodbyes? he's forced to deal with the frailty and mortality of someone he thought was invincible.
and it scares him.

hiii! just want to say how happy I was to find your page. it seems like everywhere on the internet (except tumblr- but even then I've seen some hate) DESPISES yakuza 3.. like they won't even acknowledge the good the game has. is it the best? no! but they would sooner brush off the plot the game set up and the amazing characters to say it's ass and looks bad, just say ur going through a quality drop from yakuza kiwami 2. yakuza 3 brought us MORNING GLORY. THE PLACE THAT IS KIRYUS MAIN MOTIVE?? like it's the whole reason kiryu went into hiding.. it set up the future games. (also humanized him soo much but that's a topic for another day) THEN I CAME ACROSS THIS PAGE! your love for this game clearly shows through your introspective art and beautiful ask blog! I spent ab a whole night going through ur page gushing bc 'omg someone who writes mine and daigo correctly! and doesnt make mine's ONLY character trait about being obsessed with daigo!!' keep up the amazing work!! I also look forward to seeing your other works that are unrelated to yakuza! have a wonderful day!
(In case u see this ask again somewhere else I sent it to the wrong blog at first LOL)
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for sendin in your ask! I'm really glad you've enjoyed the stuff I've been throwing up on the internet about my favorite little guys.
And yeah, for a good while in most fan spaces people had a pretty big dislike for Y3, and I think a lot of it just comes down to fandom bandwagoning dissuading people from playing it or giving it much of a chance. Right now actually I've seen somewhat of a shift in some spaces where suddenly 3 is underrated and people are apparently (?) dogging on 2 where it used to be considered peak. It's all cyclical really, but I'm glad when 3 gets the attention I feel it deserves.
I do understand where people's dislike comes from honestly, but it is definitely my personal favorite! For all its faults, I think it has some of the strongest character moments of the games, personal stakes, and drama, with stellar animation that more than makes up for the older graphics that might put some people off. And of course, Mine lmao. I can't say how right I am in how I characterize Mine and Daigo since I'm sure I fall pretty short of even my own standards of how I see them (and am guilty of simplifying them because its funny lm ao), but I'm happy folks like my take on the guys! I have A LOT OF THOUGHTS on these dudes (obviously) which I'd love to write up sometime. I have an ask about my Minedai HCs where I will probably dump it, but that and a lot of asks have been put on the backburner until I get the time to address them all to the extent I want to.
If you wanna look at my non-yakuza stuff, I have a main which I basically do not use; but it does exist!
Anyway, thank you again for writing in! I really do appreciate it a ton, and I love all the lil things y'all send me.

I saw several people wondering how to participate in this bingo event. so this is how it goes: you look through your recs, you fill out the card, and... you post it 😉
to make this even more interesting, every author that gets tagged in a bingo card is now challenged to fill their own. I said what I said.
---
main character is a side character to fail better by orphan this is an unusual rec for me since the main character is camilla collins, and the main relationship explored here is jack/camilla. but really, I adore it because it's a rare example of an outsider pov on jack through the eyes of someone who likes him, and maybe sees more of him than he know. there's something very sad about jack at this point of his story, but his and canilla's awkward attempts to make something real of what they almost have are really endearing. plus: even if jack didn't fall in love with camilla, I definitely did.
still a WIP Increasing Engagement by always1895 I have a problem of hoarding WIPs and occasionally checking on them like I'm waiting for them to return from the war. this is one of those WIPs. there are two things I can never turn down, and those are social media fics and an enemies to lovers arc. just know my ass is sat down for whenever this fic is finished, and yours should be too. (*) if anyone knows the author's tumblr handle, please tag them!
short fic Patient as Pie by @edgarallanrose no fluff hits quite as hard as zimbits fluff. this short fic has jack being needy and affectionate and domestic, and it just makes me warm and gooey inside whenever I read it. which, you know, is often.
inspired you to write Two Things Only by @thewesternredcedar I'm going old school with this one, because whenever I think of a fic that inspires me I think of the summer I read this fic six times to get through my own fic. this may be in my top ten favorite fics of all time. it has endless amounts of pining, hilarity, silliness, and to top it all off, it's set during my favorite time to read about: right after graduation and before Y3. it does such a good job of nailing that jack and bitty essence that I just can't help coming back to it for inspiration.
bookmarked recently (...ish) say my name (and call me a liar) by @weneedtotalkaboutfic it may be cheating to rec a fic that was written for you, but uh, I don't care. this fic just hits all the right spots. it's smart, it's funny, it's mysterious, it's sexy, it's emotional. it has both super slow-burn and whatever the opposite of that is, thanks to a wonderful two-person-love-triangle. and if that's not enough, the real star of this fic is jack zimmermann and the journey of his sexuality and his happiness, which just blew me away.
BONUS: canon divergence But this place still stands, this place remains unchanged by @doggernaut I already have my bingo but I have more to rec, so. this fic is a really fun glimpse into a future that could've been, and it's supported by a wonderful ensemble cast (of both canon characters and realistic-feeling OCs). this fic made me laugh out loud and clutch my chest, and even though I knew where the story is headed, I couldn't wait to arrive there with it.
BONUS: isn't on AO3 lighthouse au by @appalamutte this is one of those tumblr snippets I wish I could will into becoming a full fic. just that one scene, along with the bonus background, made me fall instantly in love. historical au's can be hit or miss for me, but this was so unique and so intriguing, and (as already established) I can't resist a good enemies to lovers action.
BONUS: FREE here you come again by @ivecarvedawoodenheart honestly, no one rips my heart out of my chest quite like syd does. the first time I read this I was too emotional to think thoughts, but the second (and third, and fourth) I was just like: tell me everything about this. immediately. the phrasing lives in my head rent free? this short fic literally does.

new yakuza game, new reasons to be upset at rgg ✨
im not even gonna consider kiwami 1 or 2 bc i havent played them and i dont think they should matter to the point i want to make
but youre telling that guy
and this guy
Tumblr media
are the same person?
did that coma erase kiryu's memories of majima or is this yokoyama talking out of his ass bc he doesnt see why majima should even exist?
at this point im blaming everything thats upsetting to me about yakuza on yokoyama lmao the guy has given us many great things but the direction rgg is going with kiryu is so weird. specially given theyre bringing him back basically for marketing purposes, it amazes me how *he* doesnt understand how majima is a marketing darling.
Tumblr media
dont get me wrong, i dont mind majima not being on Y8. i *wish* kiryu wasnt there, bc it's time for ichiban&gang to shine. i love the idea of gaiden, ishin and other spin offs, so we can go on playing with kiryu in other bits of his story, and other characters, but *ive said it once and ill say it again, the torch has been passed on, kiryu has been saying goodbye on as many games as he's been in*. even though yokoyama has been there from the beginning, and rgg really didnt give us much interaction, Y3 gave us so much emotion and told us about their bond rather than showed (i mean, for the most part - again, i wouldve loved to have seem more, and im guessing that's what the kiwamis are for). and now you're telling me Y6 kiryu doesnt understand him. wow. date talks about understanding kiryu bc theyve known each other for ages. and kiryu doesnt *get* majima. sure. one of the things that really stuck to me playing ps2 Y1 is that kiryu and majima really are batman and joker, and it's baffling good how they actually got mark hamill to voice majima. and im not here for batman at all, but it's the trope. it's hamilton and burr, it's edward teach and izzy hands (lol), heck, it's jesus and judas (not all my musical theater references showing lol hey taika 😉) . it's not about villany or anything, it's about them being equal power houses on their town, it's about ying and yang, it's even reminiscent of nishiki and kiryu. and i got that just by playing the games. so if the person writing them doesnt see it, that's concernin lol whats good? lmao whats even real? the gaslighting yokoyama lmao
sometimes i forget why i say Y3 is my favorite but that kind of thing reminds me why.
also bless ugaki, a character he's played for years being dissed by his own creator to his face and he's smiling. never change ugaki, never change. (btw credit to the awesome people who uploaded the game footage on yt) also bless ugaki, a character he's played for years being dissed by his own creator to his face and he's smiling. never change ugaki, never change. (btw credit to the awesome people who uploaded the game footage on yt) edit: yeah i didnt bother looking at credits but apparently yokoyama was pretty hands off on Y6, im just being blindly biased :v i should stop lmao *but my concerns about rgg's direction with kiryu remain, regardless who is actually penned anything*

what makes minedai even sadder is that we never rlly see daigo try to build a bond with anyone else like he did with mine it rlly shows how badly it effected him like yeah he reached out to shinada in y5 but that’s rlly it and he probably would wanna leave him alone after that and not involve him in any yakuza stuff so i don’t think they would’ve hung out or anything like that afterwards. All he rlly had were saejima and majima but they were more like babysitters than anything, wish we saw more of their dynamic tho like we did with majima and daigo in dead souls since that was fun and we were lowkey robbed but in canon he’s just as lonely as he was before majimas promise to kiryu. And mine is the only person he really had a meaningful relationship with romantic or not they were still really close and we don’t see that again with daigo ever (from what i recall after y3) ok sorry for rambling LMFAO
even with shinada, he reached out to him more so out of 'duty' and trying to make up for the misfortune that befell him because of yakuza than wanting to rekindle any kind of friendship they might have had in high school (though it sounds more like they were just acquaintances if shinada needing a second to remember who daigo was is anything), so yah i doubt they really had any kind of bond afterwards
dead souls really was the only time after Y3 where we got to see daigo be more sociable with someone, but its as you say majima and saejima are more like retainers than close friends
#snap chats#you can tell i was into fire emblem when the first term that comes to my mind to call majima and saejima was 'retainers' omfg#but yeah ..... depressing ....#does make me wonder who daigo was on the phone with during the rggo story though. like clearly daigo has friends#apparently. we just never see or hear of them. tho ig it is implied those were his friends from the y2 era. as mine said flarkjla#REGARDLESS yeah after y3 daigo just feels depressing to watch#i think its just because he really has to do everything on his own now#but not even have a friend to just chill with at the end of the day- like the technical work is whatever. for the most part#THATS stressful obvi so to not have anyone to really be personable with thats probably the dire part. imo.#cause yk the world could suck but as long as you have that One Person to just relax with then its ok but with mine gone. 🧍‍♂️#probably doesnt help that like. during the 'flashback' segment of y3 where we get to see daigo sitting with kiryu and nakahara#we see him all cheery and bein a lil jokester and just. A Happy Dude#granted this is barely a year or two into being chairman so The Horrors Havent Set In relatively but still ... i miss his smile ..#every time i think of daigo post-mine i think of those like. tragedies or accounts of people where its like#'after X's friend/lover died they never found another again' like thats the vibe i always get#he really packed it up and never got close with anyone else again and it makes me want to throw up#y4 widow arc still good tho it makes me chortle

Ahhh I'm so happy!! I'm the anon who asked about Rikiya content! Thank you so much! 😊
I'd like to request a fluffy Rikiya with an s/o who takes him on dates showing him around Tokyo/other places he hasn't seen. I loved the part in Y3 where we take Rikiya to see Kamurocho! It was so cute seeing him come out of Don Quixote with so many gifts for the kids!! 🥺 He's a national treasure.
RIKIYA'S FIRST POST lessssgooooo. Happy to show some love for our sweet Y3 baby boy. Headcanons below da cut, have a good weekend sweet anon!
It goes without saying Rikiya is a bit of a puppy dog in personality. He loves exploring new places and is always chomping at the bit to take in as much as he can. Traveling dates are the best for him, especially since the train system in Japan makes it relatively easy to make a weekend into a date/vacation.
Rikiya actually does do some research before going somewhere, but it's not just tourist places. It's things he specifically heard a lot about or is particularly interested in. With a romantic partner, he will likely curate the list of activities to include your shared interests. He also has a wishlist of places he wants to travel to with you in the future.
Rikiya has a personal interest in seeing places like temples or visiting ryokans. He really enjoys taking in the prisitine beauty and architecture of temples and relaxing in hot springs, although it is in direct contrast with his bubbling and chaotic behavior in cities. He can honestly go anywhere and adjust to the vibes.
He really wants to go to some famous festivals around Japan with you. Rikiya wants to dress up, eat all the foods, participate in every custom, the whole shebang.
Despite his interest in seeing and trying new things on his own, it's honestly amazing how impressed he is every single time you show him something new. It doesn't matter if it's a restaurant in Tokyo that he's never heard of or some new fangled fashion in a store window, he's surprised Pikachu face all the way every time.
Rikiya is a very eager person and will likely be the one dragging YOU around to places but secretly he loves when you do that to him. When Rikiya is in a relationship, he falls hard and fast so he's more than happy to just be guided around Tokyo blindly by you, just lost in the dazzling lights and your prescence.
When you take him to restaurants in Tokyo, he reads every item on the menu before even trying to decide what he wants. Always asks what you'd recommend. He's the same way in bars too although he doesn't drink much since he's more of a lightweight.
If you want to see that adorable face of his just totally in awe, take him to a spot only locals know about that shows great views of the city. It's adorable how much he loves seeing the scenery.
Keep him out of souvenir shops. It's for his own good. He will buy one of everything. He might pout though so maybe just get like some matching bracelets or something small.
Last but not least, dessert! He goes full puppy dog mode with sweets so if you take him to any kind of sweet shop or cafe, he'll get all giddy and say something like "Really?! Ah, thank you, I love this." and give you a big hug.

Mini Mahou Mar...y Y3 Week 1
Hey everyone and welcome to the first week of Mini Mahou March May! You can find the main post for the event here X.
The Prompt for the week of May 1st-7th is...
Ballerina/Actor/Performer Warrior!
While Cutie Honey was the first Warrior, the sub-category was codified by Sailor Moon. These girls transform to fight, from stopping local punks to saving the world.
Often times found in color-coded teams, Warrior Magical Girls tend to have a specific brand of power, be it heart, singing, or sword. They almost always have a weapon, although that term is used loosely since it ranges from bow to bell. Outfits tend to be more complicated than those in other genres, but some of that may be more based on the eras of popularity and advancement in art techniques than ideal designs, although some girls don’t change their outfit at all.
The job of the stage, performing for crowds, entertaining millions, be it a thespian, a ballerina, stage magician, that guy with the fire whip I see every year, or something else.
I’m only looking for a visual character design, something as simple as a single fullish-body picture, but you are more than welcome to go as wild as you want with trinkets, backstory, information, alt outfits, all that good stuff. Also I say girl but girl boy nb other as long as it’s a magical humanoid gender be damned, thumbs up. (Also nothing 18+ please. Your characters can be, just not your art for this)
Make your post and tag me before end of day May 7thrd (11.59EST) and I will be re-blogging participants here next Monday, with everything tagged Mini Mahou May (and mini mahou march).

communal style.
One of my favorite things are friends and lovers who coordinate their outfits. Sometimes it happens unintentionally so you laugh about it because it means you rubbed off on each other. Other times it's almost like a ritual, that phone call early in the morning or at dusk to ask the other what they're going to wear so they can match or wear complimentary colors, textile, silhouette and layering; the borrowing or exchanging of pieces from each other's closet and jewelry, to the point where you start to lose track of who first owned it, to that unspoken agreement of having joint custody of said pieces; the trial and error of building an outfit, remove and adding elements, standing next to each other to see how it all ties together.
It parallels the dress up games on y8.com (or y3.com or the barbie website); the games you had as a child when you played pretend to be royalty, fairies, whatever occupation your parents had, detectives, zombies, scientists, your favorite cartoon characters. You're living out those memories you had as a child when you sat somewhere in the room as your parents get ready for work or your older siblings get ready for a party, and they asked you for your opinion because kids are impartial and honest. You're reenacting all the montages you saw in chick flicks where girl friends get on the landline and the screen splits in two while they do an outfit check for school, or they have nothing to wear and need advice or to borrow something. This color is in; these shoes are out; this dress looks cute but the weather's too hot; wear this jacket because it can make the look go from day to night and we'll be out all day; I'm bringing an extra outfit just in case; do you still have those earrings I lent you? are you gonna wear them? because i have a necklace that goes with it; can I borrow this scarf?; hair up? -- no, not with that neckline; I can't decide between the boots or the pumps.
It's a partnered or group exercise in quick thinking, an exercise of the chemistry and rhythm in your friendships or relationships. Do you know their favorite color to wear, why they hate this type of pants, why they always have that piece of jewelry they wear with everything, what their go-to is in layering, how they style basics, where their favorite places to shop are, why they love and always buy basically the same pair of shoes that they swear are not the same at all, why they think this is tacky in a bad way and this is tacky in a good way?
Is it a love language in itself? I think so. Sometimes it's more fun to dedicate minutes or hours deciding on a perfect outfit together -- and even by yourself -- than whatever it is you do in a day, paying attention to all the little details that hold esoteric meanings of your self-expressions, adding parts of each other in your expressions. Not everyone can see the effort it took to create the harmony between you but it's there. It's not personal style, it's communal style.

thinking abt yakuza 8.... under a 'keep reading' bc i rambled again
i mentioned this before but i'm actually glad they brought kiryu back for y8 now. as much as i liked y6 it had. a lot of problems n i know ppl who understandably didn't enjoy the main story of 6 at all. watch GC Vazquez's y6 vid to get what i mean if u don't know (edit from the future: now that tehsnakerer's vid is out i recommend his more but you can watch both if you want)
(i thought i said this here before but i guess not? maybe i only said it on priv-) i think what little i've seen of y8 so far feels "kinder"? more "sincere"? as a send off than 6 despite the cancer thing ykwim. idk if that makes sense when i don't fully know the plot yet. basically it's better bc ichiban is there or something i can't explain it properly rn it has good vibes ok !!
i hope kiryu has a good time n it looks like he will bc ichiban got him finally singing judgement (his canon favorite song!!) again
youtube
but then y8 absolutely has to be THE send off for kiryu right...? like he can Not keep showing up in the main story after this there's no way. that makes me so scared that we're gonna see him actually die especially with the cancer reveal. surely they wouldn't... surely...... i don't want them to do another fake-out but idk if i can handle kiryu dying for real... :(
i'm also hoping for a better conclusion with haruka, since there's that whole plot of kiryu's cover being blown so she'd definitely notice n want to talk to him right (unless she can't bc he's in a whole different country but he's gotta at least mention her in depth)
also why is kaito in gaiden btw
Tumblr media
also-also i saw some random person on twitter complain abt y8 'undoing' y3 n saying that they were done w the series. i have no idea what they were talking abt. did i miss something major in a trailer??? (admittedly i'm trying to avoid watching all of them bc i wanna be as blind as i can be). well either way more ichiban for me, retcons won't stop me this series is already full of them
*^mid post i realized they might just be talking abt richardson being in the karaoke scene HELPP LMAOO idgaf that's probably his secret twin double or something. rubber bullets
aaaaaanyway in conclusion i'm trying not to get my hopes too high but failing bc i'm really interested in wtf they're gonna do w y8's plot specifically w kiryu. also i missed ichiban n will kiss him
