I find it funny how the fandom (or, at least, a part of the fandom I see a lot) has latched onto the "Moon is obsessed with rules" headcanon. True, he's the one that comes after Gregory for "punishment time", but...

Sun is the one calling the player a rulebreaker and kicking a literal kid straight into the less-than-friendly Glamrocks' waiting arms (for accidentally turning the lights off. As if Gregory would know touching a Freddy shaped security box would do that. If it even was Gregory and, idk, ""someone"" disabling the power in the daycare on purpose). Sun is the one nearly popping his circuits if you don't follow his instructions. Sun is the one threatening to release Moon on you if you so much as colour a page wrong. Sun is the one getting frustrated with Cassie if she screws up somehow (haven't played Ruin in a while, but I do think he freaks out if you approach him in the VR world after only disabling one - or zero - generators).

Moon on the other hand? Moon is fizzyfazzing vibing (well, not in Ruin for obvious reasons). Fulfilling his task and getting the kid? Sure sure, let him just jump from leg to leg first, and walk in a goofy way at an extremely slow pace (even Monty with no legs balancing himself on crutches would probably move faster), while giggling and alerting the entirety of the daycare to his precise jingly location. He only starts taking it seriously and entering the structures when you get some generators on, and even then he's still messing around. The robot cares more about his jester theatrics than his goddamn job. If Moon really does security patrols like many people believe he does, half of them are (or were, prior to the virus) probably him tormenting a poor overworked security guard (rip Vanessa, if you're out there...).

Don't take me wrong. I love a Moon who follows the rules to a malicious degree as much as the next person. And he does seem set on putting Gregory down to sleep and punishing him. He does seem intent on harming you in HW2. But let's be real, Moon doesn't give a shit about his job half the time - doing a goofy walk, riding a carousel... those are much better. If he gets to scare someone while doing it, jackpot for him. We only really see him struggle in Ruin, as far as I recall. Sun is the one running around like a bossy headless chicken trying to get everything in order.

I think it's because Moon is the one who directly says "you must be punished" and harms you? But even then my man jumps on the table, does a goofy move, and flies off to give Gregory some time to hide for their little hide and seek game. Sun is the one getting freaked out and throwing you out without any preamble after the lights turn on.

Again, not shitting on anyone. I just think it's so funny. I legitimately cannot imagine Moon being that serious unless 1) a real intruder is at the pizzaplex, not some snotty kid; 2) Vanny tells him to; 3) something actually dangerous is happening and he's not high on whatever virus is going around.

Unnamed MXES Swap AU thoughts—mostly about how the ending would actually play out for it, because it’s still been on my mind.

The one ending that I could sort of compare it to is the 6am ending—with Vanny, Gregory, and him being alone in the box—although only because the villain would technically succeed.

There’s a lot more that would be involved in the ending itself+leading up to it, but, simply: MXES gets shut off, Cassie loses her mask, Vanny releases the Mimic, and Cassie is caught and injured.

I’m not sure how long the actual Ruin takes place after the main game—but here... it wouldn’t really be that long after. Just a short while. The place still wouldn’t be in good condition—but not as bad as canon Ruin’s Pizzaplex.

Gregory is actually called by Cassie here—who has still been stuck there for a while. She wants her friends help—both to get out, to bring back MXES, etc.

Although, at the same time, Mimic is impersonating her, wanting to trick Gregory. Sometimes, he could be talking to the real one, other times, he could be talking to a fake.

Im taking this as a chance to finally ramble abt her anyways so Janet's core inspo when designing her was to avoid 2 key things. Don't make her like Immortal & Th Restless's Clara (due to clara representing michael, not mrs afton, so i wanted to avoid that), and don't base her too heavily off of Ballora. I still have ties to Ballora's character (a music-based theme, blue-centric colour palette, im sure there were more basic ideas but everything else is more hc than themes to keep up) due to my hc thingy of each Funtime having ties to William's wife + kids, but yknow.

But yeah. Funky lady who played bass guitar + did backup vocals in a band during her high school and college years. Literally her and William dating can be summed up by "Seriously, what do you see in that guy?!" "He makes me laugh." bc she was and is WAY out of his goddamn league. Not just bc of the whole serial killer thing he was just an even bigger loser in college. kat doesn't share things about her private life most of the time. don't expect her to, you know, do photoshoots and interviews and whatever else with anyone she's with at the time or even talking about it very openly. if there's a serious relationship, she'd acknowledge it exists, but not talk about it in detail (it's harder to keep it low when the other person is also famous, and i don't think she'd necessarily avoid being seen with them sometimes, but yeah in general she tries to keep things as private as possible, especially when it comes to romantic relationships - friends and such only if they prefer to keep a low profile). so i feel fans would get invested in finding out whatever is going on through pictures of her with people, rumors, lyrics and such, but she doesn't really engage with it in any way at all.

the fact she doesn't share anything if she can help it makes it pretty clear she's not interested in what people have to say. the reaction can range from indifferent to really pissed off, depends on the opinions (she does avoid them, if she can, from media and the public alike). managers trying to have any say in her personal life and how it's presented would immediately be fired though (she had a controlling mother for a manager when she was younger and she's not about to let another person have a say on her private life like that ever again).

when it's fans talking about how they connect to songs or feel seen and understood in some way or like they belong or whatever she'd be really soft about it (she loves her fans! she does appreciate their love!) but when it comes to her personal life no matter how supportive the messages she doesn't wanna know (the only type she'd appreciate, and even then she tries to keep a never reading comments policy so the chance she'd see them is slim, is when people are like oh she looks happy i hope she's happy and whatnot). when it comes to the media and how it portrays things i sincerely think she's not polite at all when people try to get her to talk about things or create/suggest any sort of drama (her life has drama enough without that).
