ngl i wasn't big on bingqiu the first time i read SVSSS, but after seeing some truly mind-numbingly stupid bingqiu/LBH takes... i think they've grown on me quite a bit lmao.

So my mind’s been just running with the “Strawberry Jam Sword is a corrupted Soul Jam” idea I posited earlier today, and so I made this

So for the joke context, it’s supposed to be that the other Soul Jams can recognize that the Strawberry Jam Sword is a corrupted Soul Jam (even if only they know), and they can just like, sense the evil coming from it. Meanwhile the SJS doesn’t like them for the opposite reasons, and so when you put two of them close together, they just like, hate each other on site and start hissing at each other like cats. Thing is, nobody else but their wielders (and probably the other Soul Jams) can hear them, and nobody knows about the SJS’s true nature, so to them they’re just hearing random hissing and don’t know where it’s coming from. Also they can each only hear their Jam’s side of the argument, if there is one

I like to think they eventually figure out it’s coming from the swords, so they pull them away, only for the noise to stop, then put them next to each other again, and they start hissing again. And then just doing this repeatedly, meanwhile any outsider seeing this is like “what the heck are you two doing?”

Also, potentially the reason these two just keep choosing violence against the other, their swords are each subconsciously making them want to fight one another, whether intentionally or not. Not sure if I’m keeping that as legitimate, but I dunno. It’s a possible explanation

Honestly I think I need to draw Dark Cacao more, because while I can draw Dark Choco just fine, Dark Cacao gives me trouble. Might also just be because Dark Cacao’s outfit is much more complex. Also probably because I drew this without a sketch layer, which I never do in these kinds of drawings

thinking about a Happy Ending scenario where Shen Jiu didn’t actually just cease to exist after Shen Yuan was transmigrated into his body. Instead, sorta like Airplane, he’d been yeeted into the body of a kid and spent the 12 or so years that SVSSS encompasses having, essentially, a normal childhood.

(as normal as it could be, anyway)

That “dying” returned to Shen Jiu the opportunity that had once been stolen from him -- to start his cultivation journey at the most opportune age. Maybe even to have a real, half-decent mother, if I’m being generous. Though, considering all he already knew, he wouldn’t even really need a teacher!

...and it really did take all twelve of those years to finally muster the courage, at roughly age 18, to find his way back to Cang Qiong mountain. After all, he couldn’t possibly face Yue Qingyuan as a child, could he? He’s still a bit messed up, but twelve years is twelve years. He’s not as angry anymore. Didn’t give up on himself this time.

So, imagine for me if you will, Shen Jiu ascending the mountain, but since he’s in a totally new body... whoever’s on watch duty that day stops him. Of course, they’re incredulous when this young man insists that he has business with the Sect Leader. How could he possibly?

So, in an absolutely foul spirit, Shen Jiu insists that they go to Sect Leader Yue & tell him that there is a man who wishes to speak with his dearest Qi-ge. Except Shen Jiu wasn’t anticipating just how well that ploy would work, because Yue Qingyuan practically stumbles down to mountain to greet him personally.

This, of course, means that Shen Qingqiu Yuan has a lotta explaining to do. 8) Thankfully, though, Shen Jiu absolutely does not want his old body back.

Just a list of responses to antisemitism and Jews talking about I've gotten that are bad and you should stop saying them:

1. "Oh, but the real problem is [x other form of bigotry]!" Not relevant, not helpful, and usually delivered in such a way it betrays an immense ignorance about the diversity of the Jewish community. The count of Real Issues™ isn't a zero sum game anyways.

2. Relatedly: trying to make it about all anti-religious hate crimes as opposed to antisemitism specifically, "we must fight all anti-religious hate." You are correct - hate against Muslims, Sikhs, Jains, Hindus, Buddhists, Wiccans, Christians, etc. is also wrong, but what's with the aversion of talking about the unique struggles of Jews? Why do we only get to tag along, why can't we have the floor in our own right?

3. Anything to the impact of "you're too sensitive" - would you say it to any other minoritized person being vulnerable with you about something they've experienced? Why are you, personally, random listener and observer, the arbiter of what counts as bad enough and not the Jewish person?

4. Broad assertive statements that Jewishness is just a religion. Judiasm is a religion, but it's also an ethnocultural identity - the problem with "just a religion" is the idea that we could shed our Jewishness and solve the problem, which has consistently not been the case across millennia and continents.

Jews welcome to add other things they are done with hearing in response to antisemitism! Goyim can ask questions but don't be schmucks.
