AND NO YEAH I don't think Ed's maliciously racist, to clarify! But he's def grown up in a passively racist environment (esp the military???) and it really, painfully shows. It's not an aspect of Ed I enjoy mentioning in my own fics (ik even in a poc ed case, colorism still exists), but it's just... really disheartening to see in fmab canon and in some fics.
