I love the [PROTOTYPE] OST so much. It simultaneously makes me want to chase and hunt monsters and run for my life. Is it generic 2000’s hybrid video game soundtrack shlock? Certainly! But I love it anyways. I especially love the sheer loneliness and isolation in “Alex’s Theme”.

I also like how in the game the things Alex hunts also hunt him (Hunters, Blackwatch). That aspect of the game actually captures perfectly what being a predator is like.

Girl Help I want to make a "Long Dark AU" playlist!

First of all, can I direct you to the soundtracks of the video game composed by Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan?

Volume 1

Volume 2...actually I can't find anywhere you can listen to Volume 2 for free. I bought it on Steam. It's also on Bandcamp if you have that? Volume 1 is rad though. There are some tracks that are a little jarring because they are dramatic video game moments, but you can pick and choose the ones you like.

Also the song The Lion's Roar by First Aid Kit was featured in the game and is glorious. The entire album is a vibe.

I have a Spotify Playlist if that interests you? I just made it public if you want to check it out. I change it around sometimes though.

And check out Ambient Mixer if you like to read cold, wintery stories to blizzard sounds, that's what I do whenever I'm rereading the series to prepare for the next fic.
