Tumblr: A Beginners Guide
Hello and welcome to Tumblr!
If you're new here, this post is a little guide meant to help you understand how things work on Tumblr. I’m going to give you some guidelines and explain a little bit about Tumblr culture. Hopefully, this will help you settle in, avoid unnecessary pitfalls and enjoy your time here. I hope you’ll like it here on our hellsite (affectionate).
1. First and most importantly, please change your userpic and put something on your blog.
If you don’t, other users will think you're a bot and you'll be reported/blocked. It’s nothing personal but we are at war with the bot accounts. Most older users will automatically assume that a blank blog= bot.
You don’t need to do much. If you aren’t comfortable rebloging things or making your own posts yet, just change your userpic and add a short description to your blog.
Here’s an example of a description you can use.
‘Hi! I’m new here. I’m still working out how this place works but I promise I’m not a bot so please don’t block me.’
2. Go to your settings, then to your dashboard settings and change things to how you like them. I suggest-
Make Tumber show you posts in chronologically order, rather than pushing ‘best stuff first’
Pick a colour palate that doesn’t give you a headache
Make Tumblr show timestamps on posts and reblogs. While a post is never too old to reblog, you don’t want to accidentally signal boost something as ‘news’ when it's acutely years out of date and no longer relevant.
Choose not to shorten long posts
3. Go to the top of your dashboard, press on the toggle and arrange things how you like them.
Tumblr media
I suggest pinning your ‘Following’ first. It means that when you go to your dashboard, the first thing you’ll see are the blogs that you’ve actively chosen to follow.
Some older users will tell you that the ‘For You’ page is useless and should be ignore. This is because for a long time it was either non-existent or terrible so most older users – myself included – just don’t bother with it.
However, nowadays it’s fine so use it if you want. ‘Following’ should still probably be pinned first though because you know what you like better than the algorithm.
4. Please don’t censor your words here. Tumblr doesn’t shadow ban you for saying random words.
Shadow banning does happen but it’s mostly at random or because you were targeted by trolls. If it happens to you, you’ll need to fight to get unshadow banned.
The point is that you won’t get shadow banned for saying ‘death,’ ‘murder’ or ‘rape.’ Don’t do things like saying ‘graped’ instead of ‘raped.’ If you do, you’re just going to piss people off and make it harder for people to avoid triggers.
5. Don’t spam the tags!
You can ramble in the tags all you want and nobody will mind. However, if you tag an unrelated post with a popular tag, you will be reported for spamming. It’s against the Tumblr terms and conditions, it’s annoying and it’s something the porn bots do.
When you are making your own post, the tags you use should be to help other people find your post. When you are rebloging other people’s posts, the tags you use should be so you can find that post again if you want.
The other thing that tags are for – both in your own posts and reblogs – is for adding things that don’t really fit in the post itself but you still wanted to say. You can add paragraphs in your tags and no one will bat an eye but if you tag a post with a trending but unrelated tag, that’s spamming.
6. Please, reblog things. It helps posts spread a lot more than liking them does. Think of your blog as a scrap book where you put stuff you like.
If you aren’t comfortable adding to a post, that’s fine. Just reblog it and share it with others.
7. That said, Tumblr posts are collaborative and we like it when you add to them. It doesn’t have to be much. You don’t have to add something every time you reblog a post but it is a part of the fun to do it sometimes.
If it’s an art or fanfic post comments like; ‘good post op,’ ‘I LOVE THIS!’ or even ‘OUCH my heart!!!’ will make an OP’s day.
If it’s another sort of post; you can add your thoughts or join in on committing to the bit. Try matching the energy the post is already giving.
If you aren’t comfortable commenting directly, you can always put it in the tags.
8. The follow and block buttons are your friend. You decide what you see here. If your dashboard doesn’t spark joy, you can always follow someone new and/or follow an interesting tag. If someone is making your time here unpleasant unfollow and/or block them.
9. Tumblr likes to commit to the bit. Sharks are smooth (they are not) and the 1973 Martin Scorsese movie ‘Goncharov’ is the greatest film ever made (it doesn’t exist).
10. A post is never too old to reblog. We like old posts here.
Every now and again, you will see a post that is over ten years old. The reblogs will probably be full of people expressing delight about seeing the original post again or seeing it for the first time.
11. You don’t want to be Tumblr famous.
There are niche blogs that are dedicated to one thing and are well liked e.g. @the-haiku-bot (the one bot we love), @writing-prompt-s and @cantheykillmacbeth. However, they are either side blogs or blogs run by multiple people.
Your main blog should just be somewhere you like to spend your time. There are no benefits to being Tumblr famous on your main blog.
12. Tumblr spreads news with this meme
Tumblr media
13. Tumblr loves dates. Whether it’s the Ides of March (it sure would be a shame if certain world leaders got stabbed), Halloween (which we start celebrating in about July) or just a random day of the week e.g. ‘Out of Touch Thursday’ there is always something happening that you can celebrate.
14. The staff always pulls a silly and harmless prank on Apil Fools Day. Last year we got to boop each other.
15. We like a silly poll
Okay, I think that’s the basics covered. You’ll get the hang of everything else as you go along.
I hope you have fun here and that you manage to avoid Apollo’s dodgeball of prophecy (try not to joke about a specific way things could get worse or you might be hit).
Yours faithfully,
A Tumblr Cockroach
PS If you are a Tumblr oldie, please feel free to reblog this to help out newer users.

want to join the fandom cause it seems fun seeing fanarts and you and others interacting but I don't know how...and with the whole ai thing im scared...
my advice: just do it
really! sometimes all you really need is a leap of faith, and that was exactly how I dropped into the cod fandom. When I joined the ghoap discord server I talked to one of the artist I really like and respected from my lurking time (hi @bressynonym) aaaand the rest is history
I didnt know how to draw properly, nor digitally, all I did was scribbling on OneNote (yeah!) and rambled about cod characters, it is daunting and it is scary to interact but after a while? you may just be able to find someone to brainrot together with
start small, like commenting, reblogging, talking, chatting- doesn't have to be towards artist/writers, it could be the art/fic enjoyers!
you need to put yourself out there if you want something
as to if you want to start in the fandom as a creator, here's some more tips (which are all based on my experience, I am no pro at doing this, hell Im still learning myself, and I am by no means speaking these on behalf on others!)
establish a goal: what are you making? fandom based? original creations?
as with starting new, everything may take a while for stuff to happen, you'll feel like you're speaking to the void at times (esp with original arts, but do know that your stuff do get perceive by others as time goes, I would advise to draw fandom stuff as a beginning to get that boost going if you want! or else it's going to be quite hard to get things rolling)
imo this is hardest part of any new creator, you'll have to bear with it and try not to give up (but I understand how incredibly demotivating it could get, there were times when I stopped posting about Raven entirely, but eventually I post it anyway cuz surely someone out there will like them, it just takes a lot of patiences and perseverance)
btw, engagement can also vary from time to time, you may be booming for a bit, then suddenly you dont, it is a cycle that will bound to happen
take rest regularly, and I mean a break from social media because numbers, discourse and everything can get to you, very quickly (I cannot emphasise this enough)
the numbers are not worth it over your mental health (comes with practice to really solidify this thought)
study the algorithm (pain): see what other creators are doing to get where they are, what tags are they using in their post? what features/niche do people like?(this is, if you really want to grab some form of engagement, bcuz reminder in the end you are creating art for yourself first!)
example: I think posts would get more reach if you tag it with the ship name first, followed by the characters' name (doesn't work all the time tho)
that's the thing about algorithm, it is ever-changing, and you'll have to learn to adapt with it when it does!
expanding on that, studying algorithm could be about ships (for example, ghostsoap is most popular in the fandom), or really good rendered art/flashed out fic that leaves your jaw on the floor, or ships that gets lesser attention in general which puts you, who make content about them, easier to be brought into the light (like Faralex)
bUT, it can also be personality!
(again, not saying this is meant for everyone and strictly from my own experience + what I observe) for me, I made up the lack of my art by establishing a personality: a wild panda who yaps about price and their oc and also kinda everywhere in the place (just like this post LOL), OR you're the person who named themselves after Soap's ash particle number OR you're the one who likes bottom Ghost- literally anything goes, you want to make an impression in different ways, some more funny/goofier than others but it works (be mindful and stay respectful tho, dont wanna be the asshole in the fandom now do ya?)
efforts ≠ engagement (not all the time, but most time) and this is a fact. Sometimes, you can't expect a piece you did for 10+ hours to get thousands views and likes, especially in a fandom space. You need to understand algorithm is that wonky. (very disheartening, but again, you make the art for you and the few others who genuinely likes them, and those people can go a long way) be mentally prepared for such events, and try not to beat yourself up too much for it
ultimately tho, do it, do it scared but do it anyways and again, draw the things that bring you joy, I hope these could be helpful in some ways!

Can I ask about your online selling experience? I know you're moving away from Etsy (and I don't blame you!) but just curious about what's worked/what hasn't. Trying to help my mom sell her art but like. She's older and I have never sold art online and can't give her any advice.
Please feel free to tag other artists selling their work as well! Thank you 🙏
Oh I have to be honest I am probably not the best person to ask about this as it's something I've definitely struggled with myself! I will say for what it's worth that I've been seeing a lot of artists struggling lately; no matter how "popular" an artist is, many seem to be reporting sales that are lower than expected even if market research/interest checks/preorders were done.
Everyone is struggling financially right now---it's been this way for YEARS---and art is one of the first luxuries to go.
That said, Etsy worked well for me for a long time. If your mom isn't doing fanart, she should be fine, because my biggest issue with them arose about the fact that I was selling fanart. Some tips I have;
USE EVERY TAG. Etsy has, if I recall correctly, 13 tags you can put on an individual item. Use all 13. Use them for alternative words for what you're selling (if it's a sticker, tag it as a decal, if it's a print, tag it as a poster). Think about who you think would buy this and what weird search terms they may use to try to find it, and think about alternative uses for the item (a trinket dish might also be an ashtray).
HAVE DESCRIPTIVE TITLES. Put the most important words first so people can see what they're getting right away, but don't be afraid of slightly longer titles. Honestly my titles could've and should've been longer, like Sailor Moon Art Nouveau Digital Art Poster Print Multiple Sizes or something.
RUN SALES OFTEN. Even if it's just 10-15% off people will buy something they've been eying for a while when there's a sale, or they'll feel more eager to buy something they've just found if it's on sale.
USE ETSY'S AUTOMATED DISCOUNT OFFERS. Etsy can automatically send a discount code to people who have interacted with your shop, use it. I made more sales from the automated 10% off code sent to people who favorited items than my monthly Patreon discount.
USE ETSY FREE SHIPPING. Shipping via Etsy is pretty cheap, and activating the "free shipping on orders over $35" will boost your spot in the algorithm, will boost the likelihood that people will order from you, and will boost the average cart size of people that order from you.
I RECOMMEND PRINTFUL. I used Printful for selling my larger prints, but they also offer other items if you want to branch out. If you don't want to get in trouble with Etsy, make sure you register it as a manufacturing partner and assign every item that Printful makes for you. Dropshipping on Etsy is a problem, but the problem is people who steal art or use AI to generate images to sell. I don't personally see a problem with someone who makes their art themselves going through a print shop to sell products they don't have the means to create at home. If you don't want to do that, you can check out inprnt. I haven't used them, but many other people have and seem to like it well enough.
SHIP THROUGH ETSY. It doesn't take very long to set up a shipping profile for your items, and it makes shipping easier and cheaper. As long as you get your items out on time, you'll get their shipping star or whatever very quickly and easily and maintain it without problem. It also has the benefit that if a buyer ever has an issue with the shipping, Etsy is more likely to have your back. If for any reason you can't ship through Etsy, I recommend pirateship. Also!! Be more careful about international shipping than you think you should be. There are a lot of confusing international laws regarding sending items as a corporation to those countries that you may not expect, so before you agree to selling something to a foreign country, make sure you check their laws.
I have also tried having an Instagram shop and I'll be fully honest I don't do what I should do with my Instagram. Maybe other people have more successful Instagram shops, but the process it took for me to get it started compared to how many sales I've made as a result of it (literally ZERO), I would not recommend it.
Shopify is good if you have a following somewhere, because you have to bring all the traffic there yourself. That's the benefit of Etsy and Instagram; they are able to make traffic for you. I've never had a following large enough anywhere to feel like I could run a Shopify of my art. Maybe one day.
I don't personally know a lot of artists who sell online successfully, so if you see this and you fall under that category PLEASE SHARE TIPS!!

as an artist, do you have any tips on getting better reach here ok tumblr? i get lost on what hashtags to use and i don’t want to seem like im copying people with which ones i use or what type of art i post but ive been struggling ;-;
oh definitely don't stress about using the same exact fandom catchall hashtags as other people! I certainly observed which tags are the popular ones based on which ones other artists used :)
Honestly I feel like my reach has always been kinda mediocre but I will say that participating in fandom jokes, community, trends all help your reach too! Plus boosting during busy hours since tumblr doesn't really have an algorithm you just have to kinda push your stuff out multiple times for everyone to see it
Also I'm always down to support more artists so if you have something that you're really proud of and want more eyes on, send it to me! :D

@impostoradult answered to my previous comments here. This is a huge discussion and fandom is barely starting it. Emotions run high because there’s sense of dread and helplessness, so, no, not all arguments are very rational but the thing is. The thing is we are talking about fandom space. Hobby space. Place where we are supposed to create and relax, and interact with other fans. Connections are supposed to be between humans. I want to know which blorbo lives rent free in my mutual’s head because I care about my mutual, not which blorbo is being squeezed through AI algorithm.
Fandom is barely coming out of creators/consumers debate debacle. I’d say that lots of fans are still struggling with the idea that monetizing your hobby is bad for you and the hobby (and posting money links on AO3 is against their ToS). And now we are facing possibility where one person’s hobby will have to compete with AI product based on all fanworks combined.
Here’s some points from @impostoradult’s comment I wanted to answer directly.
And so, to address some of your other points in more depth - if someone writing fic doesn't have an original take (and isn't even necessarily trying to have an original take) we still don't consider that a problem in fandom.
The reason why fans have no problem with repetitive fics in fandom is because we value people behind those fics, and because we consider those people integral to our fandom experience. Yes, their fic may be repetitive, amateurish and full of cliches but that is not their only contribution to fandom. A lot of fic writers run excellent fandom blogs, reblog posts and support of other creators, make gifs, mod challenges and discords. Even if they’re just lurkers, they contribute to fandom in many small ways. No AI is gonna do that for us. And it is accepted that every writer has to start somewhere, their first fics may not be the best, but they still will reflect on fandom trends. If we want to read amazing fics some day, we must support beginner writers now. When I see a bunch of similar tropey fics in my fandom, I know that my fandom is thriving. There’s a person behind each fic, there’s dialogue, there’s collective creative ping pong, there’s belonging to a group. (and then there’s Goncharov)
In fact, often times we value stories BECAUSE they so closely imitate things we've consumed before. We JOKE in fandom about the fact that we'll read 500 stories with the exact same premise that all end up the exact same way. We often overtly VALUE the highly imitative nature of storytelling (both in fandom and in wider world).
Yes, we JOKE on tumblr that if there are 500 fake dating fics, we will read them all and ask for more. But we NEVER read them all when we go to AO3. Sure, a popular trope will get an eyeballs on the fic and give it some hits, but it does not guarantee that people will kudos, comment and keep reccing the fic only because it has that popular trope. I speak from my experience as a destiel fic reccer. There’s time when fake dating was very popular and lots of authors wrote fics with this trope for dcbb. Well, not all fics got the same attention and feedback. Sometimes even, fics with great tumblr promo posts and thousands of tumblr notes had very modest stats on AO3. Because at the end of the day, supporting idea on tumblr is easy. Reading the fic, and then engaging with the author, takes effort. And most people spare that effort to fics they really liked. This is fandom dichotomy between “I want to support all my friends” and “I want to read only good fics in the limited time that I have”.
Fic authors are very aware of this unbalanced feedback loop. It will get only harder if AI fics will flood the tags and take away some eyeballs. I think this is the main reason why so many fic writers and readers balk at the idea of untagged artificially produced fic. Such creation goes against the very nature of fandom. Commenting on a fic can lead to fandom friendships or just a positivity boost of “Hell, yea! I made another human happy with my comment!”. I’ve no idea how should I react to a fic that is a product of data filtering and squeezing even if I could admit that the end result is actually decent. Commenting on an AI fic is a dead end, ChatGPT will not write me another fic or discuss my blorbo with me.
A month or two ago, a troll or a spam bot was leaving comments on AO3 fics saying something like “ Work scanned, AI use detected “ which stressed out a lot of folks who didn’t know how to prove that they wrote the fic themselves. AI generated content is already being disruptive and it will impact and change fandom. The thing I’m trying to say here is that, AI fic is not bad because it’d be low quality or “without a soul”. It is bad news because it is disruptive to fandom as we know it in ways we can’t really predict yet. And that is scary.

Organically Boosting Your Social Media Engagement
Tumblr media
Yes, you can pay via ads. But if you have a lit/fire content that has potential to grow its presence and engagement organically, here are ways to further enhance its potential (no, I don't want to say viral, ugh... but possibly, I guess 🙄):
Comment on Your Post
Depending on the nature of your post, you as your page can add a witty comment to complement and get more reactions or comments about your post.
2. Follow Through with Another Comment
If a user comments, you can reply to their comment to form a conversation so that they can be enticed to further engage on that post. It can be casual depending on your brand marketing / image.
3. React to Comments
If some comments are hard to converse with, simply reacting to their comment may still help them feel engaged. Do this a day after posting so they may also remember the post and possibly even share it should they remember and consider it.
4. React / Engage as a User
Add fuel to the "social" fire by using your personal account to engage on the post further. Share with caption "lit comments" if the comments on that post are truly fun. Your friend circle might enjoy and engage too.
If you're managing another related brand page, engage using that too.
5. No, Don't Misspell Something (unless you're desperate)
In reference to the meme above, typos can indeed get some comments from Grammar Nazis but it can give off an unprofessional look for your brand which is a no-no if you're brand marketing is all about professionalism or academics.
6. Tag Other Social Pages/Accounts or Influencers
If you're working with another popular account, engaging with them can notify their followers too, increasing post awareness and possibly more engagement.
7. Insert Location
This helps enhance localization in marketing. It also gives the algorithm an idea on to which users your content would be suggested.
8. Use the Local Slang/Terminologies
Again, it helps in localization. It can also entice more user engagement.
Want to add to this list? Just comment or message me. 🤙🏼

Optimizing for location-based searches like “Best Wedding Photographers in Warangal” involves:
Creating Google My Business profiles.

3. Focus on High-Quality Visuals
Images and videos are key. SEO strategies for photographers include:
Optimizing file names (e.g., “Warangal-Wedding-Ceremony-2024.jpg”).
Using alt tags effectively to improve image search rankings.
4. Showcasing Trends in Searchable Formats
Some popular trends include:
Cinematic Photography: A favorite among millennial couples.
Drone Shots: Capturing aerial views of grand Indian weddings.

Is there a name for this specific kind of modern music fraud?
Is there a name for this specific kind of modern music fraud? Also posted this on Spotify, but can’t repost here and I think it’s better suited. Do let me know if I have broken rules, but looks like it’s ok?So, recently I have noticed more and more notifications popping up on my Spotify for events or “new releases” by artists that I follow that are completely fake. They appear to be much less popular artists (usually around 2000 monthly listeners or fewer) that seem able to tag the artists I follow as “collaborators” in their work or as touring with them when they’re not. This happens across multiple websites, including Songkick and Bands in Town as well as Spotify. Some current examples:1. Receive a notification that band I love has a new track out, awesome! Surprising though, because I don’t think they’ve mentioned this on their social media, but they have a massive tour coming up, so makes sense to have a single to promote as well. Look at the single, name and album art seem very out of place, but whatever. Also, notice it’s a collaboration between them and another artist. Don’t know who the other artist is, but they’ve done collaborations before. A few seconds into the track though, and I realise this band would never make music this bad. Realise it’s a scam, feel like shit for giving the scammer the benefit of a listen to boost their profile, even if it was only a few seconds.2. I recently received a notification that a different band I love is touring and see there are a whole heap of events on their Spotify with links to purchase tickets. Weird, because only a few months ago one of the members had ruled out performing again due to the singer’s health. A little bit of investigating and I see that the tour is actually for a solo artist who has a backing band with the same name as the band I love. Ok, so at first I think could be a weird coincidence and algorithms are just automatically tagging the wrong band. I inform both artists, and an editor on a website I found some of the misinformation on (this post had an image and history of the band I love to promote the show instead of the solo artist). As time goes on, I know that many people have reached out to the solo artist about the error and they have not addresses it at all expect to say “come along to the show any way, it’ll be fun”. Some details have been taken down, but only by the original band. Editor replies to me to say the image and information was uploaded to their website directly by the promoter of the tour and not them. It becomes clear that this wasn’t accidental but a deliberate way to get attention and extra ticket sales. By this point, some fans HAVE bought tickets. I have heard they have been able to get refunds, but the solo artist and their team have not offered help on this. At present, the band name is still all over their posters and much of their marketing. I know the band has publicly asked the solo artist to remove their name from everything related to the tour.Sorry for being vague, but both these scams are still up, and I don’t want to give any attention to the fraudsters involved by inadvertently promoting them. I just want to know if there is a term for this particular scam? And also how is it that it seems that literally anyone can tag an artist into their work on so many platforms without the original artist’s authorisation? Why is there no easy way for fans to flag and report this kind of thing on the platforms themselves? Surely Spotify could easily add some kind of report fraud button as they have a responsibility here too.And finally, fuck this shitty “artists” doing this. AO3 has an algorithm…kinda
Extremely controversial opinion here - and, please, I do not mean any disrespect whatsoever - but I do personally believe that there is some semblance of an AO3 algorithm. Not in the sense that “kudos and comments will boost a fic’s relevance on the dash” like YouTube or anything, but the fact that there’s a “Subscriber” system does admittedly give some people an edge in terms of the people they’re able to reach, as fics can and will get inevitably buried - meaning those who have people receiving emails will, if you squint I suppose, be able to “bypass” being buried from the perspective of someone who’s just searching through a tag blind. Now, YES, please listen - I do understand that people can filter tags however they please/this does NOT make the fics disappear in any shape or form/one could 100% just scroll through the library of fics for hours and find smaller fics that way…But I do feel it’s not completely wrong to say that someone with 0 people getting alerts from them is likely not going to rack up the same attention as those with 400, just for the nature that they can click on a link from an email.
A few additional points I want to make:
• EVERYONE STARTS SOMEWHERE, and someone can absolutely never have posted a single thing before and have a million readers on it from the quality of the fic alone. That’s the sheer beauty of AO3, and that’s something that can never be taken away. However - given the hypothetical that someone has very few user subs but posts frequently - even in a large fandom - it’s still very possible that their fics will “perform” (in quotations bc ao3 is not meant for performance) worse than someone who has, again, 400 subs.
• From a reader’s perspective, I’ve 100% seen fresh fics the have 20 kudos within minutes, and fics that have been up for hours have 0 (despite being of perfect quality/appealing to the same kinda ship or trope that people enjoy in more popular fics). And what’s the common link between these high-racking kudos fics??? Their authors have an arsenal of fics that already have thousands of kudos on their own. It’s honestly just a pattern I’ve picked up on, and one I dare to call lowkey objective. (Again - an author can absolutely have a one-hit wonder of a fic, that will never not be true).
• For the record, I’m not trying to pose any sort of “solution” or even stir any arguments. It’s a fanfic website at the end of the day - and a website where, once again, doesn’t keep the importance of its user afloat with any interaction. A fic with one kudo can be someone’s comfort read, authors should always write for fun first, and these things shouldn’t be taken too seriously.
• Lastly, people DESERVE THE ATTENTION THEY GET. A fic with 15K comments has that bc the author did an amazing job making an engaging story, and by no means am I trying to “antagonize” people who do well on AO3. Talent always will be seen and appreciated.
What really drove me to write this is that, more than anything, I find that “AO3 doesn’t have an algorithm” can be vaguely hurtful to people who are underwhelmed by how their fics perform. Jealousy is a natural thing and, whether it’s seen as beneficial or not, I think it’s part of the creative process to have expectations when we share things online. And to see someone gather kudos (seemingly) so effortlessly bc they have people receiving emails for their work when you aren’t sending out those same notifications can sting - and I wish people would acknowledge that a little more instead of brushing it off as “whining over pretty numbers.”
To me, it’s not really a matter of AO3 having an algorithm or not. It’s about having sympathy for those who understandably want validation and love for works they put heart and soul into.
Peace ✌️

Social Media Marketing Strategy for 2024
In the rapidly evolving digital marketing grounds, social media is the most crucial platform for connecting businesses with targeted audiences. The professionals of InFutive Technology, Best SMO Company in Delhi, say that social media marketing is evolving with time and as we usher in 2024, it's very high time for businesses to stay ahead of the curve by adopting a dynamic and innovative social media marketing strategy. Our team of professionals understand the key trends and insights, and with this, we craft strong and ideal social media marketing plans for the year ahead.
Tumblr media
Here are a few factors that are essential for staying ahead in Social media marketing and establishing a strong presence in the digital market: -
Video Dominance:
Video content is important for businesses to maintain their reign as the leader of social media in 2024. InFutive Technology is the most trusted Best SMO Services in Delhi, We provide businesses with interesting and succinct video content to hold the attention of their audience as attention spans get shorter. Live videos and interactive content will improve user engagement, while short-form videos on sites like YouTube shorts and Instagram Reels will keep gaining popularity.
Ephemeral Content:
Ephemeral content, such as Stories on platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, offers a sense of urgency and authenticity. By including this kind of content in the plan, we’ll engage your audience in real time and develop a closer relationship with them. Using these Stories to showcase behind-the-scenes glimpses, limited-time promotions, and exclusive content will help the businesses to grow faster.
Social Commerce Evolution:
Social commerce is set to evolve further in 2024, blurring the lines between social media and online shopping. Platforms like Instagram and Facebook have already introduced shopping features, enabling users to discover and purchase products seamlessly. So, we use shopping tags, optimize our client’s social media accounts for direct sales, and use the most innovative methods to create a frictionless buying environment within the social media network.
Influencer Marketing 2.0:
As an experienced Social Media Service in Delhi, we prefer Influencer marketing because it is often a powerful strategy, but with a twist. Authenticity and long-term partnerships will take precedence over one-off collaborations. We prioritize establishing connections with influencers who share the same values as their brand.  Micro and Nano-influencers, with smaller but highly engaged audiences, will also play a significant role in reaching niche markets.
Augmented Reality (AR) Experiences:
The integration of augmented reality into social media platforms is set to revolutionize user experiences. Virtual try-ons, AR filters, and gamified experiences are just a few examples of the dynamic and immersive content that brands can provide using AR. The ability for users to interact with objects in fresh and imaginative ways boosts user engagement.
Data Privacy and Transparency:
In the wake of increased concerns about data privacy, users are becoming more conscious of how their information is handled. Transparency must be given top priority by businesses when using social media for marketing. Communicate how user data is collected, stored, and utilized. Applying strong security measures and complying with data protection regulations will build trust with your audience.
Personalization through AI:
Artificial intelligence (AI) will continue to play a pivotal role in social media marketing. We use AI algorithms to examine user interactions, preferences, and behavior and by this, we deliver personalized content. By focusing your messaging on a specific group of audience, you can make sure that your material is timely and appealing to your followers.
The social media scene is expected to continue evolving and expanding in 2024. By using the given trends in the social media marketing plan we put our clients in a better position to engage the targeted audience, build robust relationships, and eventually achieve company objectives. Ok so, I’m gonna use a bunch of TikTok comparisons, because you’re my moot on there and it’s easier for me to compare this. But the first and most important thing is
Tumblr does NOT have an algorithm
This means two things. 1, Likes are are worthless in terms of visibility. And 2, this site lives and dies off of reblogs and tags.
The first part is pretty self explanatory. Likes only give the creator a notification. And so, SO many artists on here are not shy about his getting a bunch of likes and 3 reblogs feels awful. I’m not say don’t like things! Just that it’s better to reblog. No one minds a like + a reblog!
Now for the second part (which will be split into two parts). Tags are a lot more important on here then other places. Because those are one of the two ways you find things on here. You can select a tag and scroll through it, and it will give you ONLY things that are under that tag. There are the options to sort by “latest” or “most popular.” Most popular is what I’d personally recommend for tags you don’t frequent and on check out every now and again, because I’ve seen the top stay the same for about a month before. This also means you CANNOT tag something just for it’s popularity boost. If you’re scrolling a tag, you want to see what that tag is about, not something else trying to leach off it’s popularity. If too many people tag something that isn’t the the actual post, this website will actually become unusable. There are popular general tags you can use for popularity (like “artists on Tumblr” for of your art) so you don’t have to clog tags. (Note: sometimes sub-fandoms are asked to tag their sub-fandom stuff so people who aren’t in that sub-fandom don’t get flooded with it when they go through a fandom tag. An example of this is the DCA Fandom, a sub-fandom focused on the Daycare Attendant from fnaf (that’s completely separate from TSAMS). This is mutually beneficial to the sub-fandom and the rest of the fandom as it gives people who aren’t in it a tag to block and the people who are in it a tag to follow). Also, you can say fuck and say kill all you want. What’s the non-existent algorithm gonna do? I’m fact, it’s SO much better to just say the actual names of sensitive topics, since people who are sensitive to them have those tags blocked (which means they can’t see it unless they press confirm on a warning button) and says that stuff like “pdf file” or “grape est” will just expose them to it. So just say what you mean, please
Your dash (the fyp equivalent) is made up of what the blogs you follow post and reblog, so following people is how you build your fyp. Which that being said, if a mutual leaves a fandom you were both in to be in another, you don’t need to unfollow them. While not necessary, it can be nice to see some other fandoms on your dash. Gives it a bit more variety.
And now for reblogs. These are the likes, comments, reposts (the TikTok feature), collections, duets, and comments. Reblogs are the equivalent to liking and reposting (the TikTok feature) because rebloging is how his boost things, and since it predates liking on here, is a way to show you like things. When you reblog something, it’s show up on you blog. Since no one minds spamming on here, it’s not uncommon to scroll through someone’s blog to see their reblogs if you have the same interest(s). There are different parts of reblogs. The part I’m talking in right now is kinda like stitching and duetting. You don’t just stitch something to say “lol so true,” same idea here. This is when you want be a part of the conversation. The tags work as the comments and collections. What the OP (original poster) puts in the tags is what tags it shows up in, but you can add whatever tags you want when you reblog and they do not affect the post itself, it only effects the reblog on your blog. You can put you comments in the tags. Yes Tumblr does have a comment section now, but tags are more fun imo. Tags can also be used to sort you blog (collections). If you tag something in a reblog, you can search that tag on your blog and see all your posts are reblogs with that tag. You don’t need to tag reblogs and a lot of people don’t, but this can be used to make it easier to find things on your blog. Like tagging a fandom or character in reblogs so you (or someone going through your blog) don’t have to wade through unrelated stuff. Also you can go as feral as you want in the tags, so go nuts. And you can reblog some as many times you want, we use it to inflict minor inconveniences onto each other.
I can’t really think of anything else rn, but feel free to ask questions! Also, looking through some Tumblr etiquette videos won’t hurt!
since your new to tumblr, could I give you some advice about reblogs?
YES PLEASE, I’ve never personally used tumblr until now because I was just saving it whenever I thought I’d need it aka when everyone was planning on moving to different socials n stuff
