been thinking about how hard MSQ must be on the body, especially for someone who isn't exactly in the best shape of their life. must be hard to keep up with the warrior of light! which ended up in a couple studies of how Negi's carried his weight through the whole adventure, with a couple extra mostly-non-spoilery notes on each expac~

kicking my feet as i imagine sid and rielle reacting to adaline's wonderful new bright yellow eyes after shadowbringers. now they really can't look at her without seeing someone else. how sad.
#.text#adaline rozovy#quick. wdyd when your best friend family partner guardian person thing dies and fuses his soul with another person#and they refer to themself as fray sometimes. what if they talk like they knew him - and they do. now. they probably know him#better than you did. and what if all of him and who he was slowly seeps into this new person and you are forced to#come to realize that these two are the same person now. but you cant acknowledge it. so you dont.#and then they disappear for a while. months. maybe a year. you thought they had died.#and then they come back with the same eyes your friend had.#what then. what do you do then#fray getting injured and disappearing and thought to be dead vs addie getting injured and disappearing and thought to be dead#FIGHT#imagining what sid and rielle did during that time makes me sooo. hehe. theyre not having fun#theyre training. doing small hunts. cleaning their apartment in case adaline comes back unannounced.#finally retreating to mor dhona in hopes the scions have any news on her. they dont. but they have a room full of almost corpses#and a single bed lacking a certain someone. so that is enough. and they start stopping by more and more#rielle gets a little training from the conjurers they have employed. tataru wrestles sid into doing chores for her when she cant#get ahold of estinien. he relents. it becomes routine.#months past. no sign of the warrior of light. everyone is still hopeful somehow. sid isnt.#and then she shows up slowly dying from an incurable illness with new scars and bright. bright eyes. he cant look at her anymore#and everything is normal again 👍#i think about it sometimes. like i can see them talking and not paying attention to the door and tataru is trying to get#sid to do another job or something for her while he supervises rielle doing some conjurer lessons with coultenet#and addie walks in like didnt know you employed just about anyone these days tataru. thats bad for business#as if sid is being paid more than pennies.#theyre so fun to me#npcs only i care about

when i think about how sam named his son dean ii i remember what jenny diplacidi wrote in her book on gothic incest about names being duplicated and passed onto progeny as an indication of incestuous threat and how the narrative of overlapped names in the show (samuel and deanna, married, sam and dean, brothers existing in enmeshment, sam who had lost his brother dean, assumed dead, seeping into his lover amelia who had lost her husband don, assumed dead, sam and his son, dean ii) suggests an explicit variation of such haunting. it is a story clipped half-lived. there's no consolation to it, only re-enactment: two people loved each other and lost each other untime, and their namesakes or namesaked scions came forth to propagate that loss and resuscitate it again in all-conceivable but consistently affiliated forms. sam loses dean terminally and then conjures, recreates, and seeks his brother in other attainable (sublimated) forms of continuation, not allowing him to get eradicated from the memory of the earth: dean loved his brother sammy to whom he was also a mother, and sam loved his brother dean so much he had rebegotten him. it is a somewhat uncomfortable thought - that he cradled and fed and bathed and played with his son, as though repaying his brother for the nurture received in his own childhood, and as though appeasing his old and atavistic urge to become the proper, right father (or husband, where dean is the reification of motherly functions) to his ill-fated brother who yielded all his childhood, life, and malformed dreams for him, who has never been loved enough and never the exact way that sam wished he'd been. that is, living vicariously through things that he never got to live with dean. there's an immense tenderness to it. and a very deep, morbid sense of eerie, because he has never fallen out of love and, instead, projected his permanent loss, i.e., projected dean, onto his household and robbed them of their independent self-substantiated meaning. dean ii is his own person... but with an innate another dean-adjacent, dean-prolonging reason of existing in the first place.

made this chart because i think the role/class assignments are such fun pieces of characterization for story NPCs! information pulled from here.
footnotes under the cut:
many NPCs have fancy titles instead of job names - for example, ysayle is referred to as "oracle of ice", and pre-edw alphinaud is an "academician". the jobs i marked them as are pulled from the icons of their classes + the movesets they use.
i didn't include the nameless fill-in NPCs like "temple chirurgeon" or "scion lancer". i am aware that the ARR duty support npcs have dialogue and mini-arcs, but that isn't relevant to my interest in making this chart. and sorry to j'moldva and any fans she has, but she also does not meet the threshold of character significance to be included in the chart.
thancred, urianger, and alphinaud can only dps in specific duty support instances: thancred in the antitower (if he tanks, this is the only time he can GLD - without a shield equipped! uh oh), alphinaud during hvw & stb, and urianger in the mothercrystal (if the player heals, alphinaud is your other healer). y'shtola will only heal in the burn and edw patch dungeons (funny, since her introductory epithet is "cultured conjurer"). all of these can only be used in duty support and not in trust, so they are on the cusps of their overlaps, not properly in them, as i feel this more accurately reflects their actual roles.
alphinaud functions as a scholar with his special massive carby. urianger also pulls out an even bigger carby to somehow be a summoner ("lithomancer") who can use bahamut and phoenix, but not the other three egis! due to his involvement in the bahamut coils raids?
there are no pure healers, outside of the fill-in NPCs!
DPS is a girl job, tanking is a boy job, and healer is equality. ysayle and venat are the only women who can tank, and both use a sword & shield, which makes me want to eat drywall, also i'm also kissing them both on the mouth.
apparently samurais can tank (🔄Third Eye🔄) and apparently gladiators are DPS.
g'raha is notable outside of being an all-rounder in that all of his jobs are, well, jobs. the majority of characters use class icons, while he gets to be full-fledged versions of all of these things. something something soul crystals / the crystal tower / the exarch / etc etc. frankly i'm a little fuzzy on soul crystal lore. i just think this is an interesting distinction.
if you're interested in this kind of stuff, @trustinsighters is a great resource for character dialogue, actions, and many more interesting details in the characters' programming in duty support and trust dungeons! they have great infographics and videos, including localization differences. one of my favorite accounts. their twitter has charts for every trust dungeon from shb onwards, and high-res versions are available on their kofi!
now look at my wol's adorable starlight RDM fit. isn't she so cute. she's my angel. i think about her lore and i weep. her heart is so Good. tomte peregrin on maduin ♥

INTRODUCING(A familiar face and two new ones)…..
Tumblr media
Julia, “Reed”, and “Felicia”!
Here’s a quick overview on these fine wizards:
Julia Rainbowfist🌟👁️🌟:
My main and Paragon Conjurer! Julia’s the Savior of the Spiral, Bartleby’s Scion, the Divine Paradox, the whole nine yards! But her powerful titles aside, to most people she comes across, Julia is known to be an abrasive, nosy, know-it-all with a knack for making enemies. To her sister and friends, though, it’s a whole different story! Not that she’d let anyone but them know about it…
“Reed Redthorn”🔥🔥🔥:
Ah yes, my current apprentice Pyromancer and the most nervous wreck you’ve ever seen in your life! Seriously, the poor guy’s probably scared of his own shadow. Maybe it’s because Reed’s terrible at magic? His Firecat won’t listen to him, he keeps fizzling Fireblades, and he didn’t even know what a spell card was when he first enrolled in Ravenwood…To be honest, I’d be terrified too if the little kids outclassed me by a long shot!
“Felicia Fortune”⚡️⚡️⚡️:
She’s my mysterious transcendant Diviner who loves to tinker and cause completely normal amounts of trouble: Felicia! This lady’s quite the handful in Balestrom’s class as she’s a talkative social butterfly who loves to infodump about sparkthrowers. A lot. It’s a little concerning at times, but her classmates just assume it’s because of her having a secondary in Death. Those necromancers sure say some weird stuff at times and Felicia, despite being a Storm, is no exception to it! Fortunately for her though, the occasional off-putting comments are enough to keep prying questions at bay…
And that’s a wrap on this trio! My asks are open to any and all questions and, if their schedules at Ravenwood aren’t too busy, then they’ll answer them!! :3

The blade fell with a musical clatter.
Surprise! A very belated reply, but it features our mutually-beloved semi-sentient woods as a consolation. :) Have a little Celegorm and Dior:
The blade fell with a musical clatter, the ringing of its edge against the stone just another note in the dirge that was building around them. It was the song of Dior's life leaving him – slipping away into the trees and the water and the stone in a steady, sorrowful flow. The forest would reclaim him: there would be no more dancing in Menegroth’s caves, no more lullabies, no more chasing cardinals in the snow. All the sweetness of the world he loved was tainted, now, with the tang of rust and rot; with the slick, sour heat of blood in the council chamber and the bitter sweat of the furious Noldo with whom he grappled and twined.
His mother had warned him, but he had not heeded her. The jewel in its intricate setting had shone too brightly around his neck – it had filled the corners where his certainty grew dim, glimmering and glamouring him into Elwë’s empty throne when his heart had felt far too small to fill it. He had needed that affirmation, near-stranger to the realm, uncertain of his heritage – still almost a child, though grown. But the Silmaril fed on life, as Lúthien had known. Some stain of the Iron Crown, or the ragged heart of its maker, still lingered in the gem, shattering its light into sharpness, giving everything it touched a slashing edge. And it called disaster to it, certain as the night – or else he would not be cornered in his own halls, ankle-deep in gore, with a killing wound in his side and a Fëanorian fist around his throat. Celegorm’s pale eyes held his, and the hunter grinned. “Hurts, doesn’t it, little king?” he laughed. “Knowing you can’t escape, or protect what is precious to you, or call your life your own?” Oh, he was fair, indeed: a twisted echo of the Calaquendi’s greatness. Lúthien had spoken of him – of his fine, bright face and the lucent silver of his hair. But words could not capture the bitterness that seeped from him, the acid of his frustration, his hunger and rage. Celegorm was burning in Dior’s desperate embrace, nearly certain of achieving his desire. “I will have it, sprat, whether you will it or no.” His breath was hot, his hand heavy and hard on Dior’s neck, where the gem had rested only moments ago. Dior counted in his head: steps to the storage rooms, to the tunnels, to the secret exit far away in the falling snow. Little legs could only run so fast, and Elwing had never condescended to be carried. Charged with the jewel’s safety, she would only be more stubborn and more proud. The fleeing company needed time. Well, then. He would give it to them. He was the forest's child, and love's, and death's. And he was King. Yes. He was King. With a last echo of his mother’s dancing grace, Dior spun and twisted, pinning his startled adversary beneath him as they fell. Clawing and bucking, Celegorm hissed. “It is not yours, you mongrel whelp of a forgotten Man; scion of a powerless king!” He battered Dior’s ribs where the blade had gone in. "Thief!! I will end you!" Dior only laughed, shuddering in time with Doriath’s tremors, conjuring the mist of Lúthien’s hair, the entangling filaments of Melian’s arms. Man he might be, and elf-kin as well, but his failing heart sparked with a Maia’s fire. What was death to him but the turn of a leaf? He was the deep wood; he was the dark wind howling. He was the stinging nettle and the poison berry, all the forest’s fury flowing and churning. His hands became green things: grasping roots and strangling vines. Under the wild weight of him, Celegorm could no more move than he could fly. Dior watched the fair face flinch beneath him as he smiled. Behind his bloodied lips, there were teeth upon teeth: in rows sharp as blades, all keen-edged and white. Celegorm’s throat was soft and sweet, in the clench of the dying boy-king's bite.

Okay but I do need to talk about Edda.
I've been obsessed with her ever since my first run of Tam-Tara Deepcroft. Not hard mode. She's been living in my brain rent free since the very first time I saw the cutscenes with her after doing the level 16 normal mode dungeon.
She's like this strange allegory for the burden of responsibility. In my opinion at least.
Edda was the groups healer. A conjurer who, outside of using her magic, was seemingly also responsible for gathering adventuring supplies for her party members as well re: dialogue outside of Sastasha.
Averre mocks her for not using her own money to pay for more healing potions, but it's only mentioned that *he* gave her gil to begin with. Not Payo-Rayo, not Liavinne.
Just Averre. After which the burden immediately falls on Edda to use her personal funds for the group supplies. She is expected to forfeit anything she way want or need, because she's the healer. It's her job to heal them and provide for them right?
Even when Averre dies, and it was clear that it was entirely his own fault for rushing ahead of the group and out of Edda's spell range, Liavinne chooses to blame Edda.
It was her responsibility. It was her job to help them and heal them and she failed.
Her group abandons her.
And the WOL watches. Unable to help her.
I think it's perfectly reasonable to view her as a warning or an omen for the WOL of what they fear could happen if they fail the expectation of those around them. If they can't do their job right people will die, and it will be their fault. They're the WOL. It's their job to save everyone. To put themselves on the line and bear the burden of it all.
Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard) is the omen of what happens when you let guilt and grief consume you. When you can't let the past go. When you'd do anything for the person you love regardless of how good they were to you in life.
Edda is blinded by love, and guilt for letting Averre die. She sacrifices so much to try and bring him back and doesn't even care when she gets a voidsent monstrosity instead. That's still Averre to her.
This comes after you lose a lot of the scions, most importantly Noraxia, to Livia's raid. Where you almost lose Thancred to Lahabreaha. Depending on when you choose to unlock the dungeon as well, you may have lost Moonbryda, or G'raha Tia, or watched the twins lose their grandfather again.
The WOL is riddled with loss. Loss they blame themselves for.
Because they're the Warrior of LIGHT. It's their job to save people.
The idea that Edda serves as this massive warning sign for what the WOL could easily become if they didn't have the support surrounding them is fascinating to me.
Especially when Palace of the Dead throws at you special encounters with past foes. And again Edda herself. Someone who failed her role. Who you couldn't save. Who you didn't save.
She prepares the WOL for all of the loss ahead of them. Makes them aware of what is at stake if they fail. At the point you meet her you're still just an adventure. Sure you've done a few big things for the city you started in but your fame and standing are still subjecting to your future efforts. Your still vulnerable. Still just an adventure like Edda and Averre were.
You could have ended up just like she did.

junelezen day 13: new acquaintance
The first time Urianger had laid eyes on Ariane Clairière, he could not claim to have taken particular notice of her.
‘Twere Yda and Papalymo had brought her hither to the Waking Sands, having sent word of an adventurer who appeared to be experiencing the Echo, and might make therefore a suitable candidate for the Scions. Thus when Lady Minfilia did summon him away from his studies to the Solar, he presumed this was that adventurer. A new recruit to the Scions was noteworthy, but no rarity.
The woman who had appeared henceforth was a diminutive Elezen, bespectacled and dressed in the garb of a conjurer, and from her dress and carriage he would have presumed her Gridanian. Something in her speech suggested otherwise, however, though he could not put his finger on it at the time—though well-versed in written lore from throughout the realm, he was not yet so practiced at discerning the various accents of speech which distinguished one region from another. To his sheltered Sharlayan ear, upon arrival the manner of a Gridanian, a Lominsan or an Ul’dahn had sounded equally foreign, and though he could now recognize those of the three great city-states well enough, of the outlying regions he was less knowledgeable.
This wandering train of thought had been promptly interrupted by Y'shtola’s reaching him in the introductions, and finding himself momentarily at a loss for words, he had called upon the words of Master Louisoix, which he had thought appropriate to the occasion:
Dawn may banish even the darkest night, Yet ever shall primal desires burn. Two swords shall vie to lay them low— A blade born of light, and a blade forged of might. Alas, man may entrust his fate unto but one.
He had got as far as “darkest night,” when gentle Minfilia had cast a look in his direction suggesting to him that mayhap this recitation was ill-considered. A quick glance at the adventurer’s countenance had revealed what might have been curiosity and might have been bemusement; he had found it difficult to tell, as oft he did with strangers. It was often foreign to his thinking that any throughout the realm knew not the words of Master Louisoix, Eorzea’s savior—but most, he had reminded himself, had not known the man personally. Thus chastened, he had halted his recitation and added by way of explanation, “…The words of a dear friend. I am glad of our meeting.”
At this Minfilia had appeared satisfied, and the adventurer’s attention had turned back to her, and he had prayed his misstep might be quickly forgotten.

The Bowl of Embers, The Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak & Haukke Manor
Tumblr media
In The Bowl of Embers, The Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak and Haukke Manor the Scion Conjurer is equipped with:
Weapon: Dated Ash Cane*
Head: None
Body: Storm Private’s Dalmatica
Hands: Dated Canvas Shortgloves*
Legs: Acolyte’s Skirt
Feet: Dated Padded Leather Duckbills*
*Once again- anything “Dated” is unavailable in game but tends to have a non-dated version. In this case you can use the Ash Cane and the Cotton Dress Gloves but the closet you’ll get for shoes is probably the Torturer's Duckbills, although they are not a perfect match.
I find it interesting that he’s wearing the Storm Private’s Dalmatica even though he joins the Twin Adders later.

Lillian Kyo - Lore Details
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to talk @elliewiltarwyn!! One day I'll write my way to some of these.....someday.
Under a read more because it's, uh, long.
--B A S I C S--
Name: Lillian Kyo
Nicknames: None given, unless you count "hero" and "kit" (though that last one is a bit of a Gridanian slur)
Age: Late twenties in ARR, just considered early 30s by the end of Endwalker. Stormblood takes up a good chunk of this time. (She's a year younger than she should be: Seat of Sacrifice and time spinning out of control because of Elidibus/The Crystal Tower/the flow of time between shards cause her to miss a year on the Source. The Scions' bodies sure don't, though)
Nameday: 16th Sun of the 1st Astral Moon
Race: Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te
Gender: Transwoman. Will never outright state so
Orientation: Pansexual, though more in theory than practice
Profession: Member of the Conjurers' Guild, member of the Botanists' Guild (on indefinite, and unpaid, sabbatical). Warrior of Light and current holder of the Soul of the White Mage
--P H Y S I C A L     A S P E C  T S--
Hair: Grey as storm clouds. Starts off short and unkempt in ARR, growing to her shoulders in Heavensward where it stays that length until Stormblood where she quickly learns combat and longer hair do her no favors. Once Temulun cleans it up, it goes to about neck length. However, Lillian has no experience in maintaining the Xaela-influenced appearance, so she keeps the general shape but leaves the beads, complex braiding, and oils out. She keeps this look until her story's end.
Eyes: a soft golden hue, often called "piss yellow"
Skin: a brownish-grey
Tattoos/scars: Oh boy. Lillian's most noticeable set are the ones across her face, the edges of her face, and striping her throat in service to some purpose others can't discern - the result of attempting facial feminization before the events of ARR with a knife, a hot flame, a basic grasp of healing magic, and a book on anatomy she could barely read with diagrams interpreted increasingly wrong as the night went on. The end result was mostly a success, though.
Other than those, she collects several over time. Notable ones include burns from dragon fire, being impaled on Zenos' sword at Rhalgr's Reach, being skewered on his sword again later but - unable to pull it out - instead pulling her body away so it cut it's own way out, and another across her front from shoulder to hip in their final fight (somewhat mitigated by a timely application of Benediction)
Healers can take a lot of abuse. No tattoos though.
--F A M I L Y--
Parents: Being a Keeper of the Moon, she has no knowledge of her father. Her mother, however, taught her child what she needed to survive in the world beyond the reach of the tribe knowing the day would eventually come where she'd walk that path and explore the wide, open world. Not seen since the day of Lillian's leaving.
Siblings: Grew up among a litter of siblings in which she was the youngest of all. Hasn't seen a single one since leaving the tribe.
Grandparents: The closest person to a grandparent was her Elder Mother, whom she much respected and loved and continues to be a source of inspiration. Taught Lillian the ways of the Conjurer and of faith in Menphina and the elementals. Likely found the same fate as the tribe.
In-laws and Other: Scions count, right?
Pets: Scions count, right?
--S K I L L S--
Abilities: Being born and raised in the wilds of the Twelveswood have made her specially attuned to the elementals to the point that she's often confused for a Hearer. While naturally a Conjurer/White Mage, the events of Rhalgr's Reach encouraged her to learn from Lyse in putting on some muscle and to take on pugilist training.
Hobbies: Dancing, but moving in general. Tribe life didn't allow her much freedom to dance in general and she was never allowed to take part in the rite of passage other girls enjoyed in which they sang and danced to a certain enchanting tune. Enjoyed playing the flute while living with her tribe, but hasn't done so since leaving.
--T R A I T S--
Most Positive Trait: Will always try to seek the best possible solution to any given problem, even at cost to herself.
Most Negative Trait: The most petulant woman you'll ever meet in her worst moments; absolutely taking pleasure in your pain. Uses the idea of "the logical choice" and removing herself from emotions as a defense mechanism, simultaneously confuses the believed results of these choices with the "greater good".
The decision she makes in Ktisis Hyperboreia is THE nail in the coffin for Meteion's outlook on life.
--L I K E S--
Colors: Different shades of greys and blacks with splashes of blue. The white associated with healers and White Mages does not appeal to her.
Smells: Overpowering floral scents. Lillian uses these to keep herself sweet-smelling in place of showering (unless forced) until Shadowbringers. Also enjoys the aroma of burning and ash in small amounts.
Textures: Woolen clothing and thick, inflexible metal plates. The heavier, the better.
Drinks: Spiced strawberry wine
--O T H E R    D E T A I L S--
Smokes: Not at all. The colored smokes of Radz-at-Han are appealing at first, but she can't be around them for too long or her eyes start to water.
Drinks: None at first, but she picks up the habit during celebrations at the end of Stormblood, which becomes a bigger problem at the end of Shadowbringers as she tries to cope with being a woman out of time and seeing how much the world has progressed and how much she's lost (The resolution of the Bozja conflict, peace with those formerly known as the "beast tribes", the twins' comatose bodies being carried off back to Sharlayan by their father, Y'shtola's being taken by Matoya to better care for her, etc.) By Endwalker she's thinking about picking up a glass of water and tasting wine before she knows what's happening.
Drugs: Not a whole lot of interest.
Mount Issuance: Unicorn babbyyyyyyyy
Been Arrested: Charged with regicide and, later, heresy; they didn't stick.
---------
For tagging (apologies if you get double-tagged by me) the OCs I haven't seen yet are @zoroarkthief @viiioca @candycryptids @sylaurin @reconditerune @amalthea-felsblood @arinaxiv @dreadwyrmz and YOU reader for making it this far!

For the villainize meme, Hawke and Varric from DA2
Varric: Tilt like five degrees to the left, honestly. The conniving, resentful younger brother of a prosperous immigrant family that everyone in the old country still regards with contempt and sneers. Makes himself the kingpin of the Dwarvish trade in Kirkwall with as many sharp elbows as he needs to, 'tragically' loses his brother in the Deep Roads on an expedition where security was provided by his hand-picked human mercenaries. Turns the Merchants' Guild into his own instrument, using personal connections in the city watch to shut down and suppress any competition. Takes advantage of the mysteriously-appearing power vacuum in the city underworld to monopolize the smuggling trade. Soon nobles and patricians are calling upon him to curry favor and beg support in the contest to bee the next Viscount.
Hawke: Just my canon Hawke lol. Every respectable family in Hightown's nightmare of an upjumped adventurer. Wins a fortune through brute violence, extortion, and mercenary work, conjures up some totally legitimate papers 'proving' she's the lost scion of a fallen noble house. Seizes high office during a moment of political crisis and uses it to support and offer cover to her criminal and apostate friends, up to and including material funding for a giant terrorist attack. Zero moral scruples beyond what's good for her and her friends, and to a lesser extent for apostates and mages. Collects forbidden lore and suspicious relics. Terrible sense of humor. Etc, etc.

Additional Scion Jobs
Long title: Additional Classes & Jobs I think would suit/have suited the Scions. 👀 (And no, I'm not gonna cheat and put Scholar on all of them, although in some case it would actually fit).
[Sorry in advance, the European FFXIV servers went down and they didn't bother to get them up again before the planned maintenance in a few hours, SO this accidentally became a long one post of thoughts, so I'm putting it below 'Read More']. 😂
So. Additional Classes & Jobs I think would have suited the Scions.
Minfilia Warde: White Mage. 🌟 I always wished for her to get something more to fight back with - and White Mage would fit her with the themes of seeking peace, harmony and wanting to support her friends. Seeing as Minfillia spends most of ARR stuck back in the HQ overseeing their operations it'd also make sense to make her a Healer who can take care of her returning comrades once they come back from their missions. Minor spoilers for HW/Shadowbringers, but her being White Mage could also further explain her connections and deeds later on in the game. Though there's a lot of memes about White Mage being a "green DPS" I think she'd be more focused on the healing part.
Tataru Taru: I was about to jokingly say Machinist to give her a gun, but jokes aside I'd give her the class/job Botanist. 🌼 Tataru not being a fighter but still wanting to help is kind of a plot-point within the game, and so I shall abide by the rules. (Though I suppose her being an Arcanist can still be considered canon considering the blue quests in Stormblood?). At any rate I think she'd fit well as a Botanist. Not only would it give her a way to Sneak around, but it'd also help her Gather the resources she or her friends need. As her only listed canon class is Weaver on the wiki, I'm also tempted to add Leatherworker and Culinarian into the list, seeing as we do have some moments where she already works on these even if they're not listed as canon classes (yet?).
Y'shtola "Master of Destruction" Rhul: Summoner. 🔥 No one can deny Y'Shtola is a master of magic. With Conjurer & Black Mage already under her belt it should come to no surprise I think she would continue with a similar line of study, and because of this I think she'd be perfect as Summoner. We COULD technically argue Arcanist/Summoner is semi-canon considering her past studies, but since it's not listed as one of her canon classes/jobs I shall not count it as one either, because the job is too perfect for her to ignore. Additionally I could see her pick up Blue Mage for the challenge it'd give her, even if it wouldn't be a main-job she'd use in world-deciding battles.
Lyse Hext: Dancer (and/or Monk?). 💃🏽 I was admittedly surprised Lyse's only canon listed class/job on the Wiki is Pugilist, and I honestly can't remember if Lyse ever got to upgrade to Monk, but I could have sworn she got the Dancer? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but either way I think she'd fit well with the Dancer job. She has always been light on her feet and being Dancer would also give her a ranged class to complement Pugilist/Monk, which is very close-ranged.
Papalymo Totolymo: I'd say Sage, after much consideration. 🛡 He was a difficult one to decide on though, but in the end I think it's the one who would make the most sense for him given the lore of Sage being a Sharlayan job difficult to master. It's also canon Papalymo studied the arcane for most of his life, so it'd make sense to give him something related to magic outside of him being a Thaumaturge. That, and I don't feel like he'd fit as a Scholar (the job), Astrologian, Summoner, Red Mage or Pictomancer. I could give a maybe to White Mage, but that's a MAYbe.
Thancred Waters: 🔫 Machinist was obviously my first thought, because hey, canon Gunbreaker already - but given his past as both Gladiator & Rogue he also has a lot of potential as Dark Knight and/or Viper, all which I feel would fit him well. Since he's already a tank with Gunbreaker I'd say Thancred getting Machinist and Viper would be the most useful for him though, and would let him use his experience at the same time as giving him better DPS stats. 🔪
Urianger Augurelt: Scholar, to the surprise of absolutely no one. 😂 xD Listen, if any of the scions deserves the Scholar job, it's him - and it'd be especially fitting for Shadowbringers and give additional reason(s) as to how and why he was able to get along so well with the fae. 🍄 Perhaps a little more surprising is instead that I think he'd also do well as a Reaper. Urianger has proven again and again he does what's necessary to save those he cares about, even at the risk of earning their scorn, and since he's already a canon Astrologian with Scholar added to the list from me Reaper is a good way to balance him out a bit to not only be focused on the healing jobs. 👻 Especially since there's already so many Scions who are Thaumaturge and/or Black Mages and I can't really imagine him taking on a job as a tank. Even with his character development I wouldn't say he enjoys being the center of attention.
Alphinaud Leveilleur: I so badly want to give him a DPS job, but tbh I don't think he'd really fit as any of them? As previous Arcanist and nowadays Scholar/Sage I could simply give him Summoner and be done with it, but it'd be kind of ironic to see him running around summoning a mini-Bahamut. If hard-pressed I'd give him Pictomancer instead, which would be a fun nod to Shadowbringers/Endwalkers as well, but it doesn't feel like a perfect fit either. 🖌 Tbh the perfect job for him would be a tank focused on magic with magical shields and the likes, and to this day I badly wish FFXIV will introduce one in the future. Sadly I think it might be difficult for them to make it different enough from Sage, so Idk if I'll ever get my wish come true.
Alisaie Leveilleur: Gunbreaker. 🔫 / "Jezzica, WHY!???" / Okay, so admittedly part of it is because it'd be hilarious to see her run around with a big gun, but given her personality a job as a tank would actually suit her very well and make her tanky enough to actually continue to stand in the aoe without moving. 🔫 Alisaie is not the healer in a battle, but doesn't mind helping out with healing outside of it. She's loud, honest, and loves being in the middle of it all. Additionally Alisaie has always been the most outspoken about how everyone is relying too much on you (the WoL). Her being a tank fits her personality really well, and quite frankly I think she would quickly become a Dark Knight if you (the WoL) ever died within the game. Given the fact Alisaie is already a Red Mage she also has potential as a Viper, but at the current time I still think Gunbreaker would fit her the best as an additional class/job.
Krile Baldesion: Another difficult one, but I'd probably give her Dancer based on vibes alone from the DT-trailer(s) and her already being a canon healer and Pictomancer. 💃🏽 She's a difficult one though, because I haven't spent as much time with her in the game yet.
Estinien "Wyrmblood" Varlineau: Defeating dragons was his entire life for so long that I think he'd struggle to be anything but a Dragoon even if he has another purpose now. 🐲 The fact that he was basically raised by the former Azure Dragoon after being orphaned wouldn't have made it easier to introduce Estinien to another job either. 🐉 Part of me wanted to put Estinien's additional job as a Dark Knight ⚔ , but tbh he's more of a "attack is the best defense" kind of guy, and he's more driven by attacking the problem than defending those behind him. 🪓 He could potentially fit well as a Warrior, but then he'd probably be a "one-man army" kind of Warrior who forgets to turn on his stance. 😂 Anyway, in all likelyhood I think Estinien would aim for another DPS if he had to add another job, and amongst those I think Reaper might actually be the best fit. Purely physically he could do a good job as Pugilist as well, but I have a hard time imagining him go around unlocking chakra(s) and/or later upgrading to Monk. x)
G'Raha Tia: 🐱 Jack of All Trades, Master of None, is yet always better than Master of One. With that said I think we can all agree that adding Summoner to his list of already many jobs is too perfect to ignore. 😂 With Archer/Black Mage/Paladin/White Mage already under his belt we probably shouldn't add more to his big list after that though. 😂 xD
