With the escalating threat of cybercrime, as projected by Cybersecurity Ventures, businesses face an alarming risk of financial loss, with estimates reaching $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. This exponential growth, at a 15 percent year-over-year rate since 2015, underscores the critical need for robust security measures.

Okay so. A few things to add here.

The hackers got this data by logging into user accounts on the 23 And Me site by people who reused their credentials (username and password) from other sites that have been breached. This is why it is strongly recommended you do not use duplicate passwords! Especially on sites with critical information (personal emails, banks, health-related sites, etc.).

(Side note, if you want to see if your email account has been part of a breach, you can go to Have I Been Pwned and put in your email address and it will list all of the recorded breaches that email is a part of, when they happened, and what data was stolen. If you haven't changed your password since the last breach, you probably should.)

Back to this hack. The hacker then used those accounts to scrape data from the user profiles of users who were part of an opt-in option called DNA Relatives which connects you to potential matches. While there technically was no breach of 23 & Me systems, it's pretty rotten that anyone could scrape the data like this, and they should be held to task for that.

As for the release of Ashkenazi Jews in the first batch - it sucks, it's probably targeted though no on has explicitly said so yet, and it puts an already vulnerable population into a more vulnerable spotlight in terms of being forcibly identified by whoever buys the data this hacker is selling. There is also apparently several thousands of data files on users with Chinese ancestry that they've seen so far.

What can you do? Unfortunately at this point, not much if you're part of the site. I guess I mostly hope people change their critical passwords if they're reusing them. Password Managers are great (yes, even LastPass, though it is not in my top tier to recommend anymore), but even if you just write passwords down on a piece of paper you hide somewhere nearby, that is less likely to get hacked than using the same password repeatedly on important sites.

(Also please use multifactor authentication where you can.)

(Also length is better than complexity so don't hesitate to use like whole song lyrics or a weird sentence or something instead of p@ssw0rD.)

Four Ways to Encourage Workers to Work Safely

Observing staff members and front-line managers disregarding fundamental safety regulations, let alone attempting to establish an elite safety program, may be incredibly upsetting.

1. Provide rewards for proactive actions. A business will put in place a safety incentive program that only pays staff members for not getting into mishaps or getting hurt. Compose a formal policy that outlines the objectives, advantages, awards, and behaviors that will receive recognition. Ensure that safety efforts don't stagnate by getting people in the organization to see the "big vision" in this regard.

2. Audit your company often in order to make improvements. You can focus your efforts to guarantee that progress is reached by objectively assessing your safety program and procedures. Create metrics that assess important domains, behaviors, and activities that lead to the intended results outlined in the written policies, the company's objectives, and the training goals. Assessments of individuals, divisions, and the entire company may be part of an audit program.

3. Obtain support initially from management or ownership. "I'm sorry I did x, I didn't mean to hurt you. I will be/do y in the future", and then does as he promised).

Promises are kept. His actions are in alignment with his words, and he keeps his words. If he says he'll call you after work, he does. If he says he needs to cool off during an argument and will reopen the conversation in 1h, he does indeed return in 1h to continue the topic.

If you're anxious, he will reassure you and work through it. He doesn't run away or avoid the topic (as an avoidantly attached person would).

If you come forward communicating your needs, or sharing complaints or grievances, he will hear you out and actively seek a way to improve things. He won't freak out, or get angry or run away in response to you having needs or communicating your thoughts; these are normal relationship things you're entitled to, and a securely attached man knows this.

A man that is well-rounded, with a secure attachment style, will have a rich life of his own: hobbies, interests, circles of friends, activities, etc. He will enjoy having his independence and space, and will respect your need for your own. He is not co-dependent, nor gets in the way of you having your own life outside of him. He knows having individually rich lives is important for a healthy relationship. To expand on this, he encourages you to enjoy your selfcare time, your girl's night out, or whatever other activities nourish you.

•General tips, I suggest using free online tutorials (either on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc), mainly anatomy, color and line confidence. Keep practicing and make mental notes on what you like and what you would want to improve, then look for more on that topic and repeat. That’s what I did at least
