in getting @raayllum13 set up (aka new sideblog i'm transferring all of my stuff over onto) i've been going back and queue'ing up all my oldest fic to start with, and it's not that i thought this one post-s1 drabble of callum and rayla being married to and having kids with other people would ever be canon, there's something different of looking back almost 7 years and 6 seasons later knowing how decidedly non canon compliant it is because they are going to spend their whole lives together, they're going to get married, and if they do have kids it'll be with each other. and it's weirdly emotional, honestly, looking at just how far we've come

He could jump out of a plane, throw himself into the line of fire with only a round, metal shield to protect him, but the second he was in front of microphones and cameras he was terrified. He hoped the sweat beading on his brow was not visible on screen.

The cold of the black colored titanium band bit into the skin of Steve's middle finger as he gripped the edge of the podium in front of him. It grounded him. It was the symbol of why he was standing behind a podium in the first place.

"My fellow Americans," he began, wincing. He was stealing the presidential greeting now? But, really, it was a fitting way to address the country as a whole. He was one of them, first and foremost. The colors of his uniform and shield drilled that notion home. "I am here to reveal something about myself I have struggled with for a long time. I'm bisexual. I know many are thinking, 'Damn, Cap, who the hell cares?' Or, why this requires a national announcement. It doesn’t. It shouldn’t. But that's not all I mean. I am also demisexual. 

“I know the majority of the populace just asked ‘what the hell’ at their screens. Yeah, it’s a term that never existed in the 40s, and it's a mainly unknown term now. That is why I am here today. To be a symbol, one of my own choosing.”

A huge demisexual flag unrolled behind him.

“Demisexuals, and furthermore Asexuals, are those of us that do not or only under certain conditions form sexual attraction to others. It can be very alienating, and many people think there's something wrong with them because of it. I was one of those people. Yes, an Avenger felt broken.

“But we are not. We just work a little differently. We are queer and we exist, and I stand here today proud in my identity. Thank you.”

He stepped back from the podium, waved, about-faced and left the reporters shouting questions at his back.

i've been very distracted by Posting over on main lately tbh! i'm in the middle of writing a zine lesbian-coding the filmography of my favorite b movie character actor and all-time scream king babygirl kyle gallner. INCLUDING all of his one-off appearances on terrible court/cop procedurals like law&order <3

i'm doing stupid data analysis. i'm outlining. i'm soliciting peer review. you're welcome to join me over there in Scholarship OR you're welcome to blocklist my kyle tag and avoid the whole mess <3

(btw if kyle gallner had been on riverdale as an adult he would've had a kerr smith principal honey/dawsons creek situation where they'd write him in playing a not-quite-exactly-continuous adult version of his queer mass-murderer character from veronica mars. he'd of course be a betty antagonist, since betty is veronica mars. maybe a friend of chicles. maybe a friend/victim-enabler of hal's. much to ponder)

Why is it when I have a big task to complete that should take days to do, I procrastinate the hell out of it when I have plenty of time but when it comes down to the absolute last minute, I can do a couple of days work in a couple of hours? What the fuck is wrong with me? Why couldn't I do it casually over a couple of days but can do it in matter of hours?
