Ms Phillips: On the weekend the Finance minister told a national TV audience that his UCP government doesn’t have a precise plan to move ahead with a referendum on gambling with Albertans’ pensions by pulling out of the CPP; the Finance minister is going to consult his feelings. And then just a couple of days ago the Premier said that it will be a confluence of inputs, whatever that word salad means. The UCP’s plan to gamble with our retirement security is based on feelings and vibes. Albertans are not sold. A referendum campaign, that the government will lose badly, sounds like my kind of fun, so when is the date, Minister?
Mr. Horner: They know a lot about word salad on that side of the House. I’ll give them that. I would say that there are many ways that we’re going to be able to gauge the interests of Albertans to proceed with this.
Ms Phillips: Vibes. Ouija boards.

“Seven sets of Oregon parents who believe in faith-healing have faced criminal charges in the death or illness of their children in the last decade, but the most recent case carries the harshest accusation yet: murder.
Sarah, 24, and Travis Mitchell, 21, have been held in jail without bail since June 5 pending trial on charges of murder and first-degree criminal mistreatment. Their twin daughter, Ginnifer, died in March. The other twin girl survived after a medical examiner and Oregon City police officers urged family members to take her to the hospital.
The couple could face life in prison if convicted. They have pleaded not guilty to their charges.
Mitchell and sister Shannon Hickman are both members of the Followers of Christ and granddaughters of the Oregon City church's founder. Members believe faith will heal all ailments and death is God's will.
Prosecutors appear to be drawing a distinction in the new case to justify a murder charge. It comes down to allegations of recklessness.
Clackamas County prosecutors allege that Sarah and Travis Mitchell "unlawfully and recklessly" caused the death of their daughter "under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life," according to the indictment.
Shannon Hickman and her husband, Dale Hickman, were accused of causing the death of their son by criminal negligence, neglect and maltreatment.
"Generally speaking, negligence means a person should have been aware of the risk in causing a person's death and reckless means a person is aware of the risk and disregards it," said Greg Horner, who retired in March as Clackamas County chief deputy district attorney and prosecuted several cases involving Followers of Christ parents.”

ACE AIR: ASHLEY ROBICHEAUX
Tumblr media
Program: Ace AIR Location: Ace Hotel New York Date of Stay: 08.27.17 Artist: Ashley Robicheaux
On her last evening in New York before moving to the west coast, artist in residence Ashley Robicheaux invited a group of her closest friend to Ace Hotel to collaborate with her on the creation of an “eclipse song.” You can listen to and download their recording here.
Robicheaux describes the total solar eclipse on August 21 as “truly one of the most, if not the most beautiful thing we had experienced and we wanted to make art that encapsulated the feelings that rose during those two minutes and the days surrounding it."
Eclipse was produced by Ethan Woods of Rokenri. The track features vocals by Robicheaux and Shannon Sullivan, along with other “eclipsical sounds” by Alex Horner and Rahm Silverglade. The music they made was born from lyrics written by Jonah Greenstein, James Berry and Robicheaux:
Slow down We are almost home
I don’t wanna go One hundred miles per hour
In my sleep
I dream to find myself        clear again Slow down, Slow down,                             slow
Can you see it?                                 Shrouded by clouds                                 Moon shaped sun
I didn’t wanna go one hundred miles per hour
                                                      the stars
Everything connects back to the black
Everything
Originally from Gulfport, Mississippi, Ashley Robicheaux is a choreographer, dancer, actress, director and music maker. While earning her B.F.A. in dance at NYU, she performed works by Shannon Gillen, Pamela Pietro, and Chuck Wilt. Robicheaux performed in PUNCHDRUNK's off-Broadway immersive production Sleep No More from 2014-2015 and was an original cast member of Third Rail Project's The Grand Paradise from 2015-2016. As a choreographer Robicheaux has held residencies at Silo Kirkland Farms and The Hollows Artspace. She has begun writing and recording music as well, and she plans to release her first EP in the fall of 2017 under the name ROBI.
This August, Ace AIR is curated by Ashley Robicheaux & Artists. Founded in April of 2015, AR&A is an emerging project-based dance company focused on exploration of movement in contemporary forms and collaboration with other artistic mediums. The company serves as a platform for both original choreographic works by Ashley Robicheaux and invited collaborations in contemporary dance, film, live music and immersive experiences. They have presented work at National Sawdust for Ferris Festival 2016, Center for Performance Research, The Green Building, WHITE WAVE Dumbo Dance Festival and the Wild Project.

Ms Phillips: So can the minister stand right now, look at the camera right there over my shoulder, apologize directly to the people that voted for him, and promise to keep the UCP’s hands off their CPP?
Mr. Horner: Mr. Speaker, I’m well aware that member knows where all the cameras are.

Parents Freaked When They Found Out What One Mom Put In The Kids' Brownies

Parents Freaked When They Found Out What One Mom Put In The Kids' Brownies
Breastfeeding is a beautiful and natural way for mothers to nourish their babies. That said, most moms are obviously aware that people who aren’t their children don’t want to try their breast milk.
One mom, however, doesn’t think she did anything wrong when making brownies for a bake sale at her child’s school, since she decided that breast milk would make a perfectly fine ingredient. As expected, other parents definitely didn’t agree.
When another mom found out that she’d made the brownies with breast milk, she got understandably upset.

In response, the woman tried to justify what she did in an online post, claiming that it wasn’t a big deal and that children who went to the school “could use the nutrition let’s be honest.”
