I wanted to talk to you about this official art. When the movie came out, I was young and broke so I never could buy the magazines :C but oh well. I didn't pay much attention to it until I started analyzing the image o.o

They're wearing each other's colors. Lizzy is wearing o!Ciel's colors (blues), while o!Ciel is wearing brown, which is basically a dark yellow, like Lizzy's hair. These outfits were shown on the back cover of volume 12.

It looks like they're in a carriage, but I think they're in a room on the Campania ship since Lizzy didn't know Ciel was going to be on the ship. I originally thought they might be in a carriage on their way TO it, but it can't be because of what's mentioned 0: remember, they're together for 3 days before Aurora's society meeting, so they probably did various activities together.

THE HAND. What stands out the most about this art is that they're holding hands, BUT WAIT, it's CIEL who's holding Lizzy's hand (//excited squeals//) and not the other way around as usual. Ciel doesn't like to be touched much because of the trauma he suffered when he was kidnapped, so he's reluctant to initiate physical contact with anyone. That's why Lizzy always takes the initiative, hugs him, touches him, stays close to him... and doesn't mind, he doesn't look bothered. In this art, it's Ciel who takes the initiative to touch Lizzy by holding her hand, and I think it's the cutest and most tender thing for him to open up to her physically.

They fall asleep together. Ciel is the most paranoid person ever for obvious reasons, in fact, he keeps a gun under his pillow. But here, he's shown deeply asleep with her, giving a sense that he feels safe. HOW CUTE TTwTT.

In conclusion, CANON. Nah, just kidding,in conclusion, thanks to the artistic team of Noriyuki Abe along with Minako Shiba for giving us all this material in 2017, I didn't appreciate it back then haha :c

ANIME EXPO 2023: TUTTE LE NOVITÀ DALLA KERMESSE LOSANGELINA (PARTE 2)

Seconda tranche di annunci, Crunchyroll Edition: in testa c'è il ritorno di Black Butler!

Come vi avevo promesso, ecco la seconda parte del resoconto dedicato all’ANIME EXPO 2023, tenutosi come a Los Angeles, fra il 1 e il 4 luglio.

La prima parte di annunci e trailer, molto più sostanziosa, la trovate nel post precedente a questo (QUA).

Questa che vi porto oggi è incentrata interamente sul main panel di Crunchyroll, durante il quale, in mezzo ai soliti aggiornamenti sui prossimi anime in arrivo in streaming, c'è stato spazio anche per un paio di trailer nuovi di zecca e un bell'annuncio a sorpresa!

BLACK BUTLER

Ebbene sì, Ciel e Sebastian stanno per tornare e, no, non si tratta di un reboot della celebre serie basata sul popolare manga firmato Yana Toboso, ma di un sequel.

La quarta stagione dell'anime debutterà in simulcast sulla piattaforma, in un periodo ancora non precisato del 2024, a ben sette anni dall'uscita del film di Book of the Atlantic.

L'adattamento non è più prodotto in seno ad A-1 PICTURES (Mashle: Magic and Muscles,Kaguya-sama: Love is War), ma è in lavorazione presso CLOVERWORKS (My Dress-Up Darling, Bocchi the Rock). La direzione è passata in mano a Kenjiro Okada (March comes in like a lion, RWBY: Ice Queendom), mentre alla sceneggiatura rimane Hiroyuki Yoshino, scrittore da sempre legato alla serie.

Al character design, invece, troviamo Yumi Shimizu (Locodol), che raccoglie il testimone da Minako Shiba, tristemente scomparsa nel 2021.

SOLO LEVELING

Mostrato anche un nuovo trailer per l'attesissima serie basata sul popolarissimo webcomic coreano, edito qua in Italia da Star Comics.

Diretto da Shunsuke Nakashige (Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory), presso lo studio A-1 PICTURES (86 - Eighty Six, NieR:Automata Ver1.1a), l'anime arriverà in simulcast a partire da gennaio 2024.

A RETURNER’S MAGIC SHOULD BE SPECIAL

C'è stato poi anche tempo per un primo sguardo alla serie ispirata all’action fantasy scolastico coreano, firmato So-nan Yu e Uk-jakga. 

Il trailer annuncia che l'adattamento è targato ARVO ANIMATION (Monster Girl Doctor, Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut) e segna il debutto alla regia di Taishi Kawaguchi; gli episodi dell'anime arriveranno su Crunchyroll da ottobre.

Honestly for me since I self insert unconsciously I just chose my fave... I also didn't complete all the routes yet despite knowing this game since more than a decade thanks to having to play on emulator and change computer...

Oh man, always touch as I also always use self inserts too and there are so many characters I like.

GS1: Suzaku x Minako or Suzaku x Tamami

GS2: Daisy x Saeki, though I also love a 3P of Daisy x Shiba x Masaki as I love both this characters and saw some very spicy doujins of them LOL.

GS3: 3P Arashi/Bambi/Niina, Miyo x Bambi is also super cute.

GS4: Sassa x Marie, 3P Ryouta/Marie/Sassa or Hikaru x Marie.

I do laugh because while I'm not big on love triangles in media, GS3 made it SO fun that I do like seeing characters try to win over the MC's heart lol

All these time skip redesigns and now I have the urge but no motivation to do redesigns for my own ocs. I guess I can at least give some confirmation for designs I’m thinking of for them...

Kaede, still the co-lieutenant of second, would have a big change. She would have swapped her white obi for a dark orange tied with a purple cord. She’d wear detached black sleeves and thigh-high boots tied in the back with purple cords. She’d have also added a deep purple hip-length haori. Her shihakusho is still a halter one piece and she would still wear her badge on her right thigh.

Chinatsu, lieutenant of eighth now (separate verse from Yuyu Yayahara), still wears the standard shihakusho. She has swapped the purple obi for a rose-colored obi with gold trim. Her long curly hair is now styled in bun with a new gold hairpin with a bird of paradise design.

Amaterasu, lieutenant of seventh after Tetsuzaemon’s promotion (again separate verse of canon), has a sleeve of intricate tattoos on each arm and an extension of her back tattoo onto her chest. Her hair is now tied in a high ponytail with a small braid on the left side. She still wears the same green obi and standard shihakusho.

Minako, still the twelfth’s eighth seat, has the smallest change. Her hair is now a chin-length bob of wavy hair. Her ears are also now pointed and elf-like, a result of experimentation.

Studio Pierrot has reported that animator and character designer Minako Shiba passed away on March 15, 2021. She was 50 years old at the time of her passing. Shiba is best known for her character designs in such anime as Noir, Black Butler, Hikaru no Go, and Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE. How will the SEES members react if Koromaru had pups with another dog (let's she's a Shiba Inu)?

Mitsuru would be shocked. Usually she's so responsible and I imagine that after Koromaru was adopted, she would have thought to arrange him to be given appropriate vaccinations and consider getting him neutered. But with all of her responsibilities in SEES, it just sort of slipped through the cracks. And now...there are puppies running around the dormitory. One of them is very interested in her and keeps licking her hand, so she gingerly places it in her lap while she tries to work out arrangements to keep them in the dorm. It's a common sight to see her studying or reading in the lobby, with that one dog sleeping in her lap while the others sleep at her feet.

Junpei AND the puppies are running around the dormitory. He cannot get over how cute they are! They're all over him, giving kisses and cuddling all over him. He's got just as much energy as them, so they have the feeling he's just a really big puppy they can play with. And he loooves it. He also congratulates Koro for being such a "Romeo" and charming such a cute dog.

Fuuka and Yukari are fawning over both the puppies and Koromaru with his "girlfriend". Yukari wants to buy all sorts of shirts, bandanas, collars, and sweaters for all the little puppies! Fuuka thinks they're adorable, and she's one of the members that tries to make the dorm as puppy-safe as possible. She also moves all of her potentially toxic plants (to dogs, at least) out of the way in her room so the whole family can visit whenever they want!

Akihiko thinks the puppies are cute, but he also wonders if they could be potential Persona users. Is it likely to develop one if your parent has a Persona? Hmm, probably not...but he still wants to make sure that if they're gonna stay at the dorm with Koromaru and his mate, they grow up healthy. He takes Koro out for walks often as a morning exercise, so he'd want to walk the whole damn family whenever as some warm-up cardio. He has to go a little slower since these are pups and not full grown dogs, and it's hilarious seeing him with a whole family of dogs while he's jogging at sunrise. He also gets a sling to put on his stomach and back in case some of the puppies get too tired/overworked and he needs to carry them. That way he can work on his muscle strength too!

Ken is SO sorry he didn't notice this sooner and apologizes to Mitsuru and the others over and over. He knew that Koromaru was friendly with that female dog, always giving her kisses and enjoying walks/visits with her, but...PUPPIES? He had no idea! He scolds Koromaru for hiding it from him, but he wants to keep the whole family together in the dorm. He's grateful that the rest of the team isn't too upset, and that they also want Koro's family to live here too.

Aigis is fascinated by Koromaru's tiny offspring. She does wish that they weren't so keen on nibbling on her armor, but they aren't going to cause any substantial damage. They remind her of when she first awoke and had no idea of how the world works, so she tries to instruct them in her own way. She'll point out various things to them on walks and explain their function, even though they don't know what she's saying. They really enjoy laying on her body in summer since it's so cool, and the feeling she gets when they all cuddle on top of her makes her quite happy.

Minato is more chill about the whole thing. After all the things he's encountered at the dorm, it's nice to have a surprise be a family of puppies and not a monster trying to kill him and his friends. The puppies like to sleep in his room since he plays soft music for them, and they also keep trying to bat his hair away so they can see (and lick) his whole face. He also shows one to Elizabeth since she wants to see all sorts of things in the human world, and she ADORES it. ("So soft and fragile, but with so much potential to grow and change! Tiny little paws that can become mighty claws, teeth that barely chew that can become sharp fangs indeed...ah, it's licked me! It must agree with my assessment."

Minako fawns over them and spoils them rotten. She and Yukari buy the whole family a full fucking wardrobe of clothes and insist on a vote to name all the puppies. She always feels so sad leaving them to go to school, and she may or may not have tried sneaking one of them in her bookbag so "they wouldn't be lonely". Mitsuru immediately noticed and lectured her on how uncomfortable it would be for the puppy, and Minako finally caved and let them stay home. She also introduces one to Theodore, since he's always eager to see new things. She jokes that Theodore is like a puppy in his own way, and finds it adorable how Theodore attempts to ask the puppy questions and talk to it like a person.

(Also Shinji because fuck it, AU where everyone lives) He is very tsundere about the whole thing. SEES is too dangerous for animals like that, even if they can't enter the Midnight Hour. And what if something happens to Koromaru? He'd be leaving a wife--er, mate--and kids behind. The puppies like his long coat and keep settling inside the pockets whenever he sets it down, and he has many pictures of them on his phone of them sleeping inside. He and Akihiko will walk with them sometimes, and it helps them mend their friendship a bit; it's hard to get too upset or argue when there's a small army of puppies barking in tiny little voices at you. He also finds some recipes for homemade dog treats to make for them.

What do you squirrels think about the change of studio? Any theories?

Mine is that A1-Pictures didn't want to take the risk of animating the Weston College arc because apparently, that saga didn't have good sales in the manga nor good acceptance among the Japanese fandom [i think i read this in @chibimyumi's blog].

Please let me know your thoughts!

Btw I still deeply admire A1's work in the adaptation of the Campania's arc. I will always cherish the contributions of Minako Shiba, the character designer for all of Kuro's adaptations, who sadly passed away in 2021 ;;

Seductive Vampire Singers Gather in Fall 2021 TV Anime Visual Prison Main Visual & 2nd PV

    The official website for the forthcoming fall 2021 original TV anime Visual Prison has posted a main visual and a 110-second second PV. The A-1 Pictures-produced series is set to premiere in Japan on October 8, 2021.

  The total of 10 main characters of the anime's three in-story bands - O★Z, LOS†EDEN, and ECLIPSE - are all together in this stunning main visual. The catchphrase, "Music connects thoughts and becomes a bond." expresses the desire of those who live the fate of vampires to confront their friends and themselves through "song" in the story.

        The second PV features the anime's OP theme song "Zankoku Shangri-La" sung by one of the three in-story bands,  O★Z, as well as new scenes and new dialogues of the main characters. The story's keywords such as "red drops," "red moon," and "half-vampire" are scattered throughout the video.

  Synopsis:

  Ange Yuki is a young boy who is unable to fit in with his surroundings and has a strong sense of loneliness inside. When he finds himself alone in the world, he leaves his hometown to visit Harajuku, a town where the artists he admires are active. Hhe encounters a live battle between the visual-kei unit ECLIPSE and LOS†EDEN. While Ange is overwhelmed by their energetic stage performance, he is suddenly struck by a pain in his chest. At that moment, Ange awakens as "Dhampir," half vampire, half human.
