Trying my hand at this one:
Shen Yuan transmigrates into a worm.
It's just a normal garden variety (heh) earthworm, not a special magical worm (yet), so initially he thinks this is gonna be a really short transmigration adventure indeed. But of course that would be boring, so he also manages to end up in the body of a worm who lives under one of those magical immortal fruit-bearing trees.
One of the fruit drops, Worm Yuan chows down, and he significantly upgrades his physical abilities, and senses, and gains a cultivation boost! Hooray!
Unfortunately it's not enough to fix that he's still a worm, but it's enough so that he has less to fear from getting hit by a random shovel or such. In the process of eating the fruit, he sees some disciples (come to gather the fruits, slacking somewhat since they even allowed a few to hit the dirt) and overhears enough of a conversation to figure out that he's transmigrated into a worm that lives in the PIDW setting. Specifically, on Qian Cao Peak!
Wow! How random and wild! Why a worm??? What god did he piss off in his past life for this?
Well anyway, it is what it is, and Shen Yuan decides that if he's gonna live a probably short and uneventful life as a worm, at least he wants to see his favorite character. So he inches his way in what he hopes is the general direction of Qing Jing Peak, course-correcting whenever he gathers that he's guessed wrong, hitching a ride on the occasional shoe or once even gripping the internal part of a wheel from an An Ding Peak carriage, until finally, he's leveled up his meager worm cultivation even more and has reached Qing Jing Peak!
As Worm Yuan continues to inch his way across the peak, he keeps just-barely missing Luo Binghe, until finally he comes across... not Binghe, but a recognizable item: a fake jade pendant!
Though lost initially on a tree branch, it must have fallen at some point, down to the ground where Worm Yuan stumbled upon it.
Mustering his strength, Worm Yuan manages to get the broken string of the fake jade around his little worm body, and then makes the herculean trek to the wood shed. Dodging bird attacks, hiding from other QJP disciples, and further upgrading his Worm Skills such as digging, inching, and oozing, until finally he reaches his destination and squeezes under the door.
Leading to the situation of an incredulous disciple Luo Binghe -- who had previously been tending to his bruises -- watching as a little worm climbs into the shed (normal, usually it's spiders but sometimes other bugs get inside) while dragging his long-lost most treasured item in what can only be described as a deliberate fashion (very not normal).
After ascertaining that Worm Yuan is not some cultivator's tool or shapeshifted creature, Luo Binghe decides to approach this situation in the only reasonable way, and offers the worm some scraps from his leftovers. Worm Yuan happily shares a meal with his favorite character, and things take off from there.
Somehow Luo Binghe finds himself learning more about cultivation by watching Worm Yuan than he has in all his attempts to figure out his manual or listen to his shixiongs on Qing Jing Peak so far. He watches Worm Yuan work up the spiritual energy to crack rocks and scale the wood shed walls, and deduces some methods for applying his own spiritual energy in similar ways. He finds it heartening to think that if even a little worm can learn to cultivate through what seems to be pure determination, then surely Binghe can make his situation work, too. He scrounges around and manages to gather up enough materials for a makeshift terrarium, so Worm Yuan can be safe and cozy by his side at night.
Of course, trials and tribulations never stop. At some point Ming Fan and his cronies find the terrarium and smash it. Binghe is inconsolable until he realizes that Worm Yuan got away (extra durable, after all!) and is wriggling back towards him in a reassuring fashion.
Worm Yuan's hero schedule is quite full, too! At some point he digs his way into a tunnel to the Lingxi caves and saves Liu Qingge, and in the midst of the demon invasion he manages to help Binghe at a vital moment by hardening his body and tripping his opponent. He rides in Binghe's pocket when Binghe goes to claim Zheng Yang, too, developing his cultivation throughout it all.
Unfortunately, kind of, Worm Yuan is also in Luo Binghe's pocket when he gets thrown into the Endless Abyss. Through the hardships of the Abyss, Worm Yuan consumes some unsavory things (the less said about the quality of worm food in the Abyss, the better) but manages to unlock rare worm cultivation upgrades, until finally he achieves his first transformation -- a gigantic Dune-esque mega worm!
The less said about the symbolism of a stallion protagonist accompanied constantly by a literal monster worm, the better, probably. But having the ability to tunnel through basically anything does make a lot of things easier, at least in terms of travel, and cuts years off of the Abyss trip. Binghe and Worm Yuan almost have fun, even, just tearing through the terrain and any foes stupid enough to get in Worm Yuan's path until they retrieve Xin Mo and bust out.
Then they get into the demon realms and that actually is just straight up mostly a good time. Worms like Shen Yuan are not common so at first he nearly always surprises Binghe's foes when he shows up to help with fights, and a lot of the time the demons involved don't even seem to realize, at first, that he's with Luo Binghe and isn't just some hellish calamity that's coincidentally also shown up! But word gets around pretty quick that the new Heavenly Demon on the scene has a giant worm companion (probably leading to some misconceptions of people who think it's Tianlang Jun returned and that someone's mistaken Zhuzhi Lang's snake form for a worm).
Once that happens, unfortunately, some demons start taking precautions. After the first time Worm Yuan gets poisoned and nearly perishes (saved by Binghe's blood in the nick of time), Luo Binghe stops letting him participate in fights. Which is just rude! Worm Yuan's not going to make the same mistake twice, duh! But Binghe just keeps holding him in reserve again and again until the fight with Mobei Jun, and then when Worm Yuan intervenes anyway (is it just him or does Mobei Jun seem to know a lot more about potential heavenly demon weaknesses than he did in PIDW...?) and gets partly frozen, Binghe goes berserk. For a while there Shen Yuan is worried he won't actually LET Mobei Jun surrender!
Thankfully though he does, and then Binghe settles into his properties and starts... building a giant-scale worm garden? What about the harem, Binghe? Like obviously it's nice and all, but shouldn't you be focused on housing for, y'know, your future wives?
Other factions in the demon realms clearly are wondering about the same thing, as the marriage alliance offers naturally start pouring in. The most vocal of these being Sha Hualing. Worm Yuan supposed that his Binghe is probably waiting to officially take his wives so that he can marry Ning Yingying first or something, but still, a little planning wouldn't go amiss. Though eventually Luo Binghe seems to get -- if anything -- fed up enough with the questions about his marriage prospects that he does start setting up for a wedding.
Worm Yuan is surprised and touched when he finds himself being fitted for a monster-worm sized amount of wedding regalia. So he can be included in Binghe's wedding procession? That's so sweet! He's not sure he understands the inclusion of a veil, though...?
Anyway. Yes. Binghe marries the worm.
#svsss#bingqiu#bingyuan#scum villain#scum villain's self saving system#long post#is binghe marrying worm yuan to get everyone off his back or is he dtf the worm? you be the judge!

SONIC’S MOM (in my AU)
I’ve spent a really long time working on Sonic’s mom for my AU but I’m finally ready to share her with you!
I wrote this out in text form below the cut for those of you who need to translate it:
Domino was a free-spirited, independent hedgehog. Despite being dealt some rough cards in life, she always had an upbeat attitude and could find the silver lining to almost any situation. Domino had to get by with just the clothes on her back, so she quickly learned to be very resourceful. She was adamantly against material things, except for her one gold earring that she treasured. Her lack of funds led to a nomadic lifestyle, but this gave her a greater appreciation for the planet and she ended up loving her minimalist way of life.
A one-time tryst led to Domino being pregnant with Sonic at a relatively young age. Though she knew nothing about being a mom, she loved him instantly. She couldn’t offer him much, so she did her best to teach him how to make the most out of what little they had and to appreciate all the wonderful things the planet has to offer. Sonic was able to crawl, walk and soon run faster than most babies, so he was very quick to fend for himself. This made Domino’s life easier and more challenging at the same time!
PHLOX: Sonic’s biological father. He and Domino met while they were both passing through the same village and had instant chemistry. She wasn’t one to stay in one place for long, so she took off after one night together. He never knew about Sonic.
Being a young, single mom is tough enough. When your baby has the ability to run at super speeds, it gets even more complicated. Domino was constantly repairing Sonic’s baby shoes when he repeatedly wore the rubber off, but eventually even her trusty roll of duct tape wasn’t enough to cut it. She ended up giving up her solid gold earring to buy him a pair of durable shoes that could withstand his speed.
Domino had a bad habit of telling tall tales. She didn’t do this to be malicious; she just liked to make her life sound more interesting than it was. This tended to get her into trouble, but made for excellent bedtime stories!
One unfortunate night, a terrible storm rolled in and caused a flash flood in the forest where Domino and Sonic were occupying. Domino knew Sonic would be able to outrun it, so she urged him to get away and leave her behind. Domino did not survive.
This traumatic event had a huge impact on toddler Sonic and is not only the reason he’s afraid of water, but why he stopped talking for several years when he was little. With time, he forgets this event and even forgets Domino, and he finds his voice again.

-Because of Error's..."tolerance" of him, he has more strings that he can use. He's got enough to form legs.
-Fresh gifts him magical ink durable Heely shoes! Instead of shedding footprints all over the place, he can instead heely/skate around and leave behind lines. He's creative on using it during battles. He would never admit it, but he appreciates the gift.
Design Notes for Gradient:
-I based his outfit off ye old web aesthetics like Cyber Grunge,,, I really liked the big pants look on him.
-I placed his scarf on his neck to match with his family, but also to match Template's scarf hehe, a little sign of his influence.

Oh hey look at that. American Duchess is doing a collection made entirely of “velvet and faux suede.“ The fiber of the velvet is not specified, but I’m pretty sure I can guess what it might be
God. I knew they were going down the tubes, but this just feels like a new low somehow. Historically they’ve used plastic as sparingly as possible- like reproducing a more durable version of shoes that were originally made of silk; I can understand that because the originals looked hardly worn -and now they’re going for “well we want to be accessible for people who don’t wear leather uwu” on their social media page
Like actually no, I don’t have any patience for people who don’t wear leather anymore. Every fucking thing in this world is for them. All of our clothing is made of plastic and it’s destroying the planet. They can wear something from one of the five gazillion other brands that make cheap crap shoes from the earth-killing fluid
I’ve always appreciated having the option for high-quality historical shoes made primarily of natural materials. I’ve always been willing to pay a premium for that. But if they’re just going to become another grifting company, charging top dollar and offering nothing but more plastic…
It feels like we can’t have anything anymore. It feels like it gets harder and harder every year to wear clothing made out of real materials. To try to break the grip that plastic has on our world, even a little bit

The five basic variants of sandal design across the Wardi cultural sphere:
Left to right:
-Very simple sandals composed of thin, flexible leather. Offers basic protection for the soles of the feet while retaining full mobility. All-purpose shoe, sometimes specifically used for running. Generally considered unisex.
-Similar design built more stiffly with thicker soles and a heel. This one is made with tightly woven grass. generally considered unisex.
-Thicker sandals with a strap over the toes and ankle support. Almost always made with leather. Some styles extend further up the shins. General all-purpose shoe, usually considered masculine.
-Decorative sandals with backing around the heel, attached to the ankle with a lace. Can be made with a variety of materials, this example uses a thin horseskin leather that has been embroidered, and is fairly high quality. Generally considered masculine.
-Heeled wooden clogs with laced ankle backing. This form is most typical of unisex Ubiyan wear and has gradually spread along both the north and south coasts of the Viper sea. In the Wardi sphere, it has only been adopted as women's wear to elevate the feet and prevent long skirts from dragging through dirt and mud. This is a more expensive example with saffron dyed + embroidered fabric, and probably worn by nobility.
Additional notes:
-All sandal variants place a strap between the big toe and pointer toe.
-A large portion of the population goes barefoot outside of the colder winter months, though this tends to have negative associations with poverty and is often avoided when possible (with exceptions for some dances and certain public settings). This stigma has been intensifying in recent history, and habitual daily barefootedness is beginning to be described as a 'barbaric' cultural feature, though this remains a minority opinion. This concern tends to be much lower in 'rural' areas, and is largely absent among Loberani Wardi (who tend to characterize barefootedness as humble in a positive capacity and associate it with athleticism).
-Laymen (regardless of status) are required to remove their shoes to enter the vast majority of temples, usually along with ablution of the feet.
-The most common materials for everyday sandals is woven grass, being a ubiquitous resource and easy to shape, but not all that durable. Papyrus reed shoes are favored closer to rivers, and the leaves of anuje palms (most common along the southern-western coastlines) are also of utility. Among nobility, leather sandals (often embellished with textile) are preferred for public use, with straw sandals being largely reserved for wear within the home. Galenii priests and monks wear straw sandals regardless of their original social status. Shoes with wooden soles are pretty rare (only in part due to being a more limited resource) and wood is mostly reserved for the heeled clogs worn predominantly by noblewomen.
-Closed toe shoes/boots are worn too, but are not widely used on the whole. They have been adopted by Ephenni Wardi as winter wear (in large part due to both Burri and Chenahyeigi influence, as both of these cultural spheres have strong boot-wearing traditions), and have been standard for Erubnae Wardi winter dress for most of their history (as the former city-state Erub was originally a Chenahyeigi settlement). Other Wardi peoples tend to wear wool socks under their sandals, which suffices as cold protection in the majority of winters. Heeled riding boots Have been adopted at large scales, particularly for cavalry.
#This is mostly for my own use for Consistency Purposes#There's some significantly fancier shoes than shown here with ornamentation on the straps/heel but I wanted to keep it on the#simple side.

here's some punk diy tips and ideas
[other than crusty pants and battle jacket, although we still love those greatly.]
why should you diy, when you can just find decorated items everywhere, you can ask. what if you are clumsy at painting or anything?
firstly, good questions. we diy so we don't give credit to the big companies who rule the world. we diy to get more independent from the system we dislike. we diy so to save money. to express uniqueness, recognize eachother and be recognized. and especially to have fun and feel cool. diy is not only about clothing, but anything you can set your mind on. of course, one cannot make EVERYTHING for themselves, there isn't enough time and energy. but making at least small steps are already a statement and more than nothing. also, helping small artists by buying their products is also pretty punk.
that being said, i provide you with some tips of mine, all gained from experience:
anything you drew/painted on, you will WANT TO protect. acrylic paint/markers + acrylic paint varnish/transparent nail polish/textile medium are your best friends. read after anything that's new to you.
i highly recommend working with old clothing or thrift shop finds when it comes to textiles, as it is environmentally friendly and you will stay in budget. Anyways, always make sure that the material you use isn't gonna be problematic. for example, if you want to do some patchwork, the material shouldn't decay easily (if it does, it will come off so quickly.). if you want to paint on it, it shouldn't be rugged.
you can not only draw/paint on your canvas shoes, but can also sew, embroidery (just make sure to use a thimble, plus floss instead of thread could make your work more durable), and add beads and trinkets to your shoelaces. in the case of shoes, never use glue (neither hot nor instant glue) – it will come off quickly. for some inspiration, i'll show you my shoes!

(the fake moss is literally unstoppable from falling off or getting dirty. risky idea.)
it's good to carry around water and food!! you don't even have to pay for decorative water bottles and food boxes, as you can draw on glass and plastic just fine with acrylic markers. just don't forget to paint transparent nail polish all over your drawing. in at least two layers. don't be lazy or laid-back. even posca comes off while washing the dishes. and you WANT TO save your reference pictures/final designs, as the case of emergency is likely. but after all, my water bottle is exactly fine after six months, with no accuring problem.

if your current best option to get stickers from is aliexpress or overpriced decor stores, search for local artists and shops on instagram and tiktok, as it may be their most efficent way of getting you to know them. if it seems like you have no chance, you may can still find a print shop with the option of printing on self-adhesive sheets (at least in hungary, those are pretty cheap). and if you want drawings to print out as stickers, you may use your own or –ONLY IF YOU GET PERMISSION– other artist's work. not only good for decorations for like, headphones, but for vandalism too. WAIT WAIT who said that. who said it. not me. no never
(in case that's also impossible, you can create stickers by printing out/drawing a picture, cover it up in transparent adhesive tape, and then put some two-sided adhesive tape on the white side of the pic. it won't be that durable, but it functions.)
if you want to bleach-paint clothing, get some plastic brushes!! any other brush dissolves. draw your design first with chalk!! never forget to put cardboard inside the clothing, and to wash the finished work in a washing machine before you'd put it on. prepare to be patient with the process. and it's not dangerous to touch 5%-9% household bleach, just wash your hands soon after.
if you want your crusty pants to last veryyy long, wax them. look up on youtube jeans waxing.
some more things i made for myself so to give you some inspiration: totebag with pockets, a small crystal holder cabinet, badges, and i decorated some t-shirts, button-ups, an id card case, phonecase, laptop.

theoretically speaking, there is nothing that an individual would be unable to learn how to make, when it comes to diy. you can't imagine how easy it is to bake bread at home. consuming-focused media makes people believe that it's hard to make anything. of course, everyone has to decide about their own priorities, i don't want to convince or change anyone in here. and if you have any questions, send an ask!! i hope i had been helpful.

Through Another’s Eyes

Elliot Bennett had always thought his job was peculiar, to say the least. He worked at Mimic Studio, a company renowned for its hyper-realistic masks. These weren’t the kind of masks you’d find at a costume shop; they were masterpieces, crafted with such precision that they transformed the wearer entirely. Each came with a full outfit, contact lenses to match the eye color, and shoes to complete the look. Mimic catered to movie studios, high-end cosplayers, and a few private clients who didn’t explain why they needed to look like someone else.
Elliot was a junior marketing intern, responsible for social media posts. He wasn’t an artist; and never got close to the merchandise. That evening, he found himself alone at the studio, the whirring machines and half-finished molds silent around him. It was rare for him to have the space to himself, and as he walked into the Mask Room, he couldn’t help but feel the pull of curiosity.
The Mask Room was where the completed works were displayed—rows and rows of lifelike faces suspended on mannequin heads. The designs ranged from average-looking men to strikingly handsome models. The outfits accompanying them hung nearby, tailored to perfection. Elliot’s eyes landed on a mask he’d never seen before: a rugged, stubbled face with piercing blue eyes and a square jaw. The tag read: "Jason – Outdoorsman."
He hesitated but finally gave in, locking the door to ensure no one walked in on him.
Elliot unhooked the mask and carried it to the changing area. The accompanying outfit was folded neatly beside it: a flannel shirt, distressed jeans, and brown hiking boots. His fingers tingled with excitement and nerves as he stripped out of his work clothes, standing in just his socks before pulling on the jeans. They fit snugly, hugging his legs in a way that made him glance at himself in the full-length mirror.
The flannel shirt was next—soft, perfectly worn in, and rolled up at the cuffs. He slipped on the boots, their weight and rugged soles giving him the impression he’d just come back from a mountain hike.
Now for the mask.
Elliot picked it up, marveling at the detail: the faint freckles across the nose, the hint of crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes. He stretched it gently, noticing how pliable yet durable the material felt, before slipping it over his head. The inside was cool against his skin, and he adjusted the edges until they blended perfectly with his neck.
When he looked in the mirror, he gasped. Jason the Outdoorsman stared back at him. Elliot popped in the blue contact lenses, completing the transformation. His reflection didn’t just look like someone else—it felt like someone else. He smirked, tilting his head, running a hand over the stubble that felt impossibly real.
“Damn,” he muttered, his voice slightly muffled by the mask. He rolled his shoulders, suddenly feeling like he could chop wood or trek through a forest.
He could’ve stopped there, but the thrill was addictive. Elliot peeled off the mask reluctantly, placed it back on its stand, and scanned the shelves for his next choice. His eyes landed on "Mason – Business Tycoon."
The outfit was a three-piece suit: charcoal gray with a crisp white shirt, a silk tie, and polished black dress shoes. Elliot stripped down again, feeling a bit silly standing in his boxers in the sterile studio, but excitement overpowered his hesitation.
The suit fit him like a glove, the fabric smooth and expensive against his skin. He adjusted the tie, the Windsor knot sitting perfectly at his throat. The shoes, shiny enough to see his reflection, clicked satisfyingly on the tiled floor.
Mason’s mask was next. It had a clean-shaven jaw, slightly tanned skin, and sharp cheekbones. Once he slipped it on, he inserted the hazel contact lenses and stared at himself.
He looked powerful. Confident. Like a man who owned skyscrapers and never took no for an answer. He straightened his tie in the mirror and let out a low laugh.
“What’s my next big deal?” he joked to himself, his voice deep and commanding.
By now, Elliot was fully immersed in the game. He pulled Mason off, carefully reassembling the set, and reached for something more daring. His hand hovered over a mask labeled "Ryan – Rock Star."
The outfit was bold: ripped black jeans, a leather jacket, a fitted black T-shirt, and combat boots. There were even accessories—silver rings, a chain necklace, and sunglasses.
Slipping into the clothes felt like stepping into a different world. The leather jacket was buttery soft, the rings cool against his fingers. He placed the sunglasses on top of his head, letting them rest in his tousled brown wig—the mask came with hair this time, styled in perfectly disheveled waves.
Ryan’s face had a roguish smirk, a faint scar above his eyebrow, and piercing green eyes. Once he had the mask on, Elliot completed the look with the green lenses and stepped back.
He didn’t just look like a rock star. He felt like one. He struck a pose, pretending to hold a guitar, and laughed.
“This is insane,” he muttered, his voice raspy and full of swagger.
Elliot was riding a high. Each transformation was more thrilling than the last. He could feel the studio’s silence around him, but it only heightened the sense of intimacy with his newfound game. Placing the rock star set carefully back on its stand, he scanned the rows for his next choice.
His gaze landed on something unusual: a mask labeled "Liam – Athlete." The mannequin head sported a short buzz cut and a face glistening with sweat, as if Liam had just finished a grueling workout.
The outfit was a basketball jersey and matching shorts, complete with a pair of size-13 sneakers. A duffel bag sat beside the mannequin, holding accessories like a wristband and a water bottle.
Elliot couldn’t resist. He stripped down and pulled on the jersey and shorts. They felt cool and lightweight, clinging to his body in a way that made him acutely aware of every movement. The sneakers were enormous compared to his regular size, but they fit perfectly, thanks to the padding built into the soles.
The mask was different from the others—it came with a slight sheen, replicating the effect of perspiration. Elliot slipped it on, adjusting it carefully, and popped in the brown contact lenses.
The mirror revealed someone who looked fresh off a basketball court: a chiseled jawline, a confident smirk, and broad shoulders that seemed almost too big to be his own. Elliot flexed an arm experimentally, laughing at how the mask made his wiry frame appear like a professional athlete’s.
“Game on,” he said, his voice carrying a new edge.
As he returned Liam’s set to its place, Elliot felt something shift. The masks weren’t just disguises anymore; they were identities. Each time he looked in the mirror, he felt less like Elliot and more like the man staring back.
He hesitated, his hand hovering over a shelf filled with more masks. Should he stop? He shook his head. No one was here to judge him. He could stop whenever he wanted.
His fingers brushed against a mask labeled "Dominic – Undercover Agent." The face was rugged, with a five o’clock shadow and a slight scar running down one cheek. The outfit was a tactical ensemble: a black turtleneck, combat pants, and utility boots. A leather holster and fake earpiece completed the look.
This time, Elliot didn’t hesitate. He undressed quickly, feeling a rush as he pulled on the tactical pants and secured the belt around his waist. The turtleneck hugged his frame, making him feel both sleek and dangerous.
The boots were heavier than the others, clunking solidly on the floor as he paced. Finally, he pulled on Dominic’s mask, the material molding perfectly to his features. The scar added an air of danger, and the steely gray contact lenses gave his gaze an intensity that made him shiver.
When he stared into the mirror, Elliot felt like a stranger to himself. He reached for the holster, strapping it across his chest, and slid the fake earpiece into place.
“Agent Bennett,” he whispered to himself, testing the new persona. He turned sharply, pretending to clear a room, his movements sharp and precise.
Elliot’s exhilaration outweighed his caution. He scanned the shelves for one last transformation, his eyes landing on a mask labeled "Malik – Urban Legend."
The mask was striking, with smooth dark skin, a neatly shaped beard, and bold features that radiated charisma. The accompanying outfit hung nearby: an oversized hoodie, baggy jeans, and a pair of pristine white sneakers. A thick gold chain rested on the mannequin's chest, completing the ensemble.
Elliot hesitated for a moment. The set was unlike anything he’d tried before, and he felt a twinge of uncertainty. But the thrill was irresistible.
Stripping down, he reached for the hoodie first. It was heavy and warm, the fabric thick enough to feel substantial. He tugged it over his head, the hood settling comfortably around his neck. The jeans were loose, pooling slightly around the tops of the sneakers when he slipped them on. The chain was the final touch, cool against his chest.
Now for the mask.
Elliot picked it up carefully, noting the incredible detail: the texture of the skin, the subtle highlights on the nose and cheekbones, the natural sheen of the beard. Sliding it over his face, he adjusted it until it fit seamlessly. The brown contact lenses were a perfect match for the mask’s warm, expressive eyes.
When he turned to the mirror, the transformation was complete.
Elliot barely recognized himself. Malik’s broad shoulders and confident stance felt worlds apart from his usual frame. The oversized clothes emphasized a casual, effortless style that made him look like he belonged on a street corner or a music video set. He smirked, leaning into the persona.
“What’s up?” he muttered, deepening his voice. He laughed, shaking his head at how different he sounded.
He struck a pose, pulling the hood up over his head, and turned sideways in the mirror. The way the sneakers gleamed under the fluorescent lights added to the image, making him feel like someone who turned heads wherever he went.
Elliot was so absorbed in Malik’s reflection that he didn’t hear the faint click of the studio door unlocking.
-----
“Elliot. What are you doing?”
The voice froze him in place. He spun around, heart pounding, to see Mr. Calloway, his supervisor, standing in the doorway with one eyebrow raised. Calloway’s sharp suit and polished shoes looked completely out of place in the dimly lit studio, but his expression was impossible to misread: curiosity, amusement, and just a hint of annoyance.
“Uh… I… I was just, uh… testing the fit,” Elliot stammered. The deep voice of Malik spilled out of his mouth, making his excuse sound even more absurd.
Calloway took a step forward, folding his arms as he looked Elliot up and down. “Testing the fit, huh?” His lips twitched into a small smirk. “Well, you do look good, I’ll give you that.”
Elliot’s cheeks burned under the mask. He started to peel it off, fumbling with the edges.
“Stop.”
The command made him freeze. Calloway tilted his head, his gaze thoughtful.
“Put the hood back up,” he said.
Elliot hesitated, then obeyed, pulling the hood over his head again. Calloway paced slowly around him, inspecting the outfit from every angle.
“Hm,” Calloway said finally. “I always wondered how these looked in action. You wear it well.”
Elliot shifted awkwardly. “I-I didn’t mean to—”
Calloway waved a hand, cutting him off. “Relax. I’m not mad. But since you’re already having fun…” He gestured to the rows of masks. “Pick one out for me.”
Elliot blinked, unsure if he’d heard correctly. “What?”
“You heard me,” Calloway said, a glint of mischief in his eye. “If you’re going to play dress-up, let’s see what you can do with me.”
“You want me to… pick one?” Elliot asked, dumbfounded.
Calloway shrugged. “I’ve always been curious about these things. Might as well indulge.”
Elliot hesitated, but Calloway’s expectant look made it clear he wasn’t joking. Elliot scanned the shelves, searching for something drastically different from Calloway’s usual polished, buttoned-up look. His eyes landed on a set labeled "Jax – The Punk Rebel."
The mask had a youthful, edgy vibe: messy black hair with streaks of electric blue, a pierced eyebrow, and sharp cheekbones. The outfit was equally bold: a black leather jacket covered in studs, a ripped band T-shirt, tight black jeans, and heavy combat boots. A chain dangled from the pants, and fingerless gloves completed the look.
Elliot hesitated for a moment before pulling it down. He held it up with a small smirk. “How about this one?”
Calloway raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. “You want me to dress like that?”
“Well,” Elliot said, a little braver now, “you did say you wanted to try something different.”
Calloway sighed but took the set. “Fine. Let’s see what you’ve got.”
Elliot stepped back as Calloway began changing. Watching his boss trade in his tailored suit for tight jeans and a leather jacket was surreal. The combat boots added a heavy stomp to his normally quiet, calculated steps.
Finally, Calloway picked up the mask. The punk's wild hair and defiant smirk were a far cry from his usual clean-cut look. He adjusted it carefully, making sure the edges fit perfectly before popping in the bright blue contact lenses.
When Calloway turned to the mirror, Elliot couldn’t hold back a laugh.
“Well?” Calloway asked, his voice a deep rasp that suited the rebellious persona. He adjusted the leather jacket, striking a mockingly defiant pose. “How do I look?”
“Like someone who’d get kicked out of their own office,” Elliot joked, still grinning.
Calloway chuckled, shaking his head. “You’ve got a strange sense of humor, Bennett.” He stepped closer to the mirror, inspecting the transformation. “I have to admit, this is… fun. A little ridiculous, but fun.”
Before Elliot could answer, the studio door creaked open again. Both he and Calloway froze, the playful mood evaporating instantly. They turned toward the sound, expecting to see a coworker or perhaps security. Instead, a man in a black uniform with the company logo stepped inside, clipboard in hand.
It was Frank, the head of inventory.
Frank looked up and froze in his tracks, his eyes widening as he took in the scene: Elliot still wearing Malik’s oversized hoodie and baggy jeans, and Calloway transformed into Jax, the punk rebel.
“What the hell is going on here?” Frank demanded, his voice sharp.
Elliot’s stomach sank. Calloway, however, didn’t miss a beat. He stepped forward, his combat boots thudding heavily on the floor, and gave Frank a mischievous smirk.
“Relax, Frank,” Calloway said, his raspy, rebellious voice a perfect match for the punk persona. “We’re just… testing the merchandise.”
“Testing?” Frank repeated, incredulous. His eyes darted between the two of them. “Do you know how much trouble you could get into for messing with inventory like this? These are high-value items!”
Calloway waved a dismissive hand, clearly enjoying the role he was playing. “Come on, Frank. Don’t act like you’ve never been curious.”
Frank sputtered, clearly caught off guard by Calloway’s brazen attitude. Elliot, meanwhile, stood frozen, unsure whether to defend himself or stay silent.
Then, to Elliot’s shock, Calloway grinned and gestured toward the shelves. “Why don’t you join us? Pick one out. It’s not every day you get to see yourself as someone else.”
Frank blinked, his indignation faltering. “What?”
“You heard me,” Calloway said, leaning casually against the wall. “You’re always talking about inventory this, inventory that. Why not take a closer look? I mean, really experience it.”
Elliot stared at Calloway, his heart racing. Was he seriously inviting Frank to join them?
Frank hesitated, his grip on the clipboard tightening. Then his gaze shifted to the rows of masks, curiosity flickering in his eyes despite himself. “You’re insane,” he muttered.
“Maybe,” Calloway said with a shrug. “But you’ve got to admit—it’s tempting.”
Frank sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “This is a terrible idea.”
“And yet, you’re considering it,” Calloway pointed out, his smirk widening.
After a long pause, Frank set his clipboard down and stepped toward the shelves. Elliot exchanged a wide-eyed look with Calloway, who winked.
“What’s the craziest one here?” Frank muttered under his breath, scanning the options.
Elliot’s anxiety began to shift into a strange excitement as he realized the night had taken a completely unexpected turn.
Frank scanned the shelves, muttering to himself as his eyes darted over the masks. He stopped in front of a set labeled "Boone – The Outland Ranger."
The mask was rugged and wild-looking: sun-kissed skin, a thick unkempt beard, and sharp, weathered features. The outfit hanging nearby was equally striking: a sleeveless leather vest adorned with various patches, a pair of tan cargo pants tucked into scuffed combat boots, and a wide-brimmed hat with a feather stuck into the band. A leather holster with a prop revolver hung at the side, completing the ensemble.
“This one’s ridiculous,” Frank muttered, pulling it off the rack. He turned to Calloway and Elliot, holding it up for them to see. “What do you think?”
Calloway smirked, crossing his arms. “Perfect. Let’s see if you’ve got what it takes to be a ranger.”
Elliot bit back a grin as Frank sighed, clearly regretting every decision that had brought him here, and began stripping out of his uniform. He folded his shirt neatly, shooting a glare at Calloway when he caught the boss smirking.
The transformation began with the cargo pants, which fit loosely but comfortably. The leather vest was snug, its patches adding a gritty, rebellious touch. Frank hesitated at the holster but eventually strapped it on, adjusting it with a scowl.
Finally, he picked up the mask. It was heavier than he expected, the craftsmanship so detailed it seemed almost alive. He slipped it over his head, adjusting it until the edges vanished seamlessly into his neck. The transformation was instant: the tired, middle-aged inventory manager disappeared, replaced by Boone’s rugged, outdoorsy persona.
Elliot handed him the hazel contact lenses, which Frank inserted with surprising ease. Then he placed the wide-brimmed hat on his head, completing the look.
When Frank turned to the mirror, he froze.
“What the…” His voice was rough and deep, entirely unlike his usual tone. He leaned closer to his reflection, running a gloved hand over the mask’s beard. “This is insane.”
Calloway chuckled. “Told you. Looks good on you, though.”
Frank adjusted the holster, his expression a mix of disbelief and intrigue. “I look like I just stepped out of a western.” He struck a mock pose, drawing the prop revolver from its holster. “Bang, bang,” he muttered, smirking despite himself.
Elliot couldn’t hold back a laugh. “You’re a natural.”
Frank turned to face them, crossing his arms. “Okay, fine. I’ll admit it—this is… kind of cool. But if anyone finds out about this, we’re all getting fired.”
“Only if you don’t look the part,” Calloway teased, adjusting his leather jacket. “Now come on. Let’s see how these characters look together.”
Frank groaned but followed as Calloway led him and Elliot to a larger mirror on the other side of the room. The three of them stood side by side: Calloway as Jax, the rebellious punk; Frank as Boone, the rugged ranger; and Elliot as Malik, the urban legend.
For a moment, the absurdity of the situation faded, replaced by a strange sense of camaraderie.
“You know,” Calloway said, grinning, “we could pull off one hell of a heist looking like this.”
The three stood in front of the mirror, their reflections almost unrecognizable. The transformation wasn’t just physical—it was as though stepping into these personas unlocked something freer in each of them.
Calloway adjusted the chains on his jacket, his smirk now almost cocky. “You know, I’ve been running this place for years, and I’ve never actually tried these on. I gotta admit, they’re pretty incredible.”
Frank snorted, tugging at the brim of his hat. “Yeah, well, I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that you’re dressed like a punk rock delinquent.” He gestured toward Calloway’s combat boots. “Those are a far cry from your usual loafers.”
“Hey,” Calloway shot back, “at least I look good. You look like you just walked out of a survivalist convention.”
Elliot chuckled, finally feeling relaxed enough to join the banter. “And I look like I should be running a streetball tournament.” He spread his arms, taking in his oversized hoodie and sneakers. “Guess we’ve all got our alter egos now.”
Frank shook his head, but a small smile crept onto his face. “This is ridiculous.”
“Ridiculous?” Calloway said, raising an eyebrow. “Frank, look at us. We’re living the dream. For years, people have been buying these masks to become someone else, even just for a moment. And here we are, actually getting to experience it ourselves.”
Frank sighed, leaning against the counter. “You’ve got a point. It’s… kind of fun.” He glanced down at the prop revolver, spinning it idly before sliding it back into the holster. “Not gonna lie, I do feel pretty badass.”
“Exactly!” Calloway said, clapping him on the back. He turned to Elliot. “What about you, Bennett? Feeling like a whole new person?”
Elliot hesitated, then nodded. “Yeah, I guess I do. It’s weird… but in a good way.”
The three of them fell into a comfortable silence, staring at their reflections. For a moment, they weren’t coworkers—they were characters, living in a shared fantasy.
Finally, Calloway broke the silence. “You know, we should make this a team-building exercise. Let everyone try on a mask, get a feel for the product.”
Frank groaned. “Please don’t. I don’t think I can handle seeing Jerry from accounting dressed like a Viking.”
Elliot laughed, picturing it. “Or Martha from HR as a biker chick.”
Calloway chuckled, shaking his head. “Fine, fine. But we’ll keep this between us for now. Agreed?”
“Agreed,” Frank and Elliot said in unison.
“Good,” Calloway said, straightening his jacket. He turned to the mirror one last time, his expression softening. “Well, gentlemen, if nothing else, this has been a night to remember.”
Frank smirked. “Just as long as no one remembers it tomorrow.”
Elliot grinned, feeling a strange warmth in his chest. For the first time in a long while, work didn’t feel like work—it felt like an adventure.
Calloway leaned back against the counter, looking at Frank and Elliot with a mischievous glint in his eye. “All right, gentlemen,” he said, cracking his knuckles. “We’ve tried on our alter egos. Now let’s take it up a notch.”
Frank raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean by ‘take it up a notch’?”
Calloway smirked. “We switch. Each of us gets to experience someone else’s transformation. It’s only fair.”
Elliot blinked, his pulse quickening. “You mean… you want us to trade outfits and masks?”
“Exactly,” Calloway said, pushing off the counter. “Come on, don’t tell me you’re afraid of a little sweat.”
Frank groaned, rubbing his temples. “This is getting out of hand.”
“And yet,” Calloway said, pointing at him, “you’re not saying no.”
Frank hesitated, then sighed. “Fine. Let’s do it.”
Elliot swallowed hard, feeling both nervous and intrigued. He glanced at Calloway’s punk-inspired outfit, then at Frank’s rugged ranger look. Both felt so far removed from his own urban style that the thought of stepping into either was dizzying.
Calloway clapped his hands. “All right, here’s how this works. We’ll go one at a time. Frank, you’ll start by switching with me. Elliot, you’re next. Sound good?”
Frank shrugged. “Might as well get it over with.”
Frank unbuckled the holster from his waist, the leather strap creaking as he handed it to Calloway. “Here. Start with this.”
Calloway took it, slipping it on with ease before removing his own leather jacket. The studs glinted under the studio lights as he passed it to Frank. “And this is yours.”
Frank slipped the jacket on, the heavy material fitting snugly over his broad shoulders. The band T-shirt came next, and he grimaced as he pulled it over his head. “This thing’s damp,” he muttered, feeling the residual heat from Calloway’s body.
Calloway laughed as he tugged on the ranger vest. “That’s the price of admission.”
The pants were next, and Elliot couldn’t look away as the two men swapped. Frank struggled to wiggle into the tight black jeans, muttering under his breath about how restrictive they were. Meanwhile, Calloway adjusted the cargo pants, clearly amused by how loose they felt compared to his usual attire.
Finally, they exchanged masks. Frank hesitated as he peeled off the Boone mask, revealing his flushed face beneath. The inside of the mask glistened with sweat, and he handed it to Calloway with a grimace. “This is disgusting.”
Calloway took it without hesitation, slipping it over his head. He adjusted it, the bearded face settling into place seamlessly. “There we go,” he said, his voice now rough and deep like Boone’s.
Frank picked up the Jax mask, grimacing at the sticky interior. “I swear, if I get a rash from this…” He trailed off as he slid it on, the punk’s sharp features replacing his own.
When they turned to face the mirror, Elliot couldn’t help but laugh. Calloway, now dressed as the rugged ranger, looked completely at ease, while Frank’s transformation into the rebellious punk was hilariously out of character.
“How do I look?” Frank asked, his new voice rasping like sandpaper.
“Like you’re about to start a bar fight,” Calloway said, grinning.
Calloway turned to Elliot. “Your turn, Bennett. Let’s see you handle Boone’s look.”
Elliot’s heart raced as he began peeling off Malik’s hoodie. The fabric clung to his skin, damp with sweat, and he handed it to Calloway, who took it without complaint.
“Man, this thing’s heavy,” Calloway said, slipping it on.
Elliot kicked off the sneakers and struggled out of the baggy jeans, feeling oddly self-conscious as he handed them over. Calloway, now fully dressed as Malik, adjusted the oversized clothes with ease.
Meanwhile, Elliot reached for Boone’s outfit. The vest was stiff and warm, the leather almost alive with the residual heat from Calloway’s body. The cargo pants felt rough against his skin, and the holster added an unfamiliar weight to his side.
Finally, it was time for the mask. Elliot hesitated as he picked up Boone’s rugged face, the beard still damp from Calloway’s earlier transformation. He slid it over his head, shivering as the sweaty interior clung to his skin.
When he turned to the mirror, he barely recognized himself. The rugged ranger stared back at him, and for a moment, he felt a strange sense of power.
Frank, now fully dressed as Jax, smirked at him. “Not bad, Bennett. Not bad at all.”
The three of them stood side by side, now fully inhabiting each other’s original roles. Calloway, as Malik, looked imposing and confident. Elliot as Boone, had a rugged ease about him. And Frank, as Jax, felt like a completely different person.
“This,” Calloway said, his deep Malik voice booming, “is what I call teamwork.”

Time period post: Tough decisions (being poor in the 1960s)

It pains me when Greasers, especially in relation to the outsiders get boiled down to Jackets, hair grease and rock n’ roll. I spoke of it here and a few of my other posts of greasers as a subculture, but it was often times a label put on “Poor Bully” social clubs/friend groups/gangs. Who sometimes where the expected uniforms other times don’t.
Class is something that’s essential to understanding the context of the Curtis gang and The Outsiders. Sometimes, I think that how poor they are tends to be forgotten or people are unfamiliar with things to consider or incorporate so I hope this can help. It’s not ‘we can’t go on vacation :(.’ It’s ‘sometimes you have to chose between food and heat’.
I’m going to try and do my best to share some base elements that’d be helpful for fics and fanart. This is not a historical rundown on treatment, programs or social movements of the time but the more practical, day to day instead of broader background. Also not saying all of these apply.
Lunch meat and stretching-
When it comes to food it’s going to be more canned and processed, baloney as lunch meat instead of turkey. Canned vegetables instead of fresh ones at dinner. White bread over something from a bakery. Cheaper cuts of meat like: rounds, thighs, flank, cube steak, or sometimes not a meat at all if it’s a hard month.
Buying foods on sale (everything really) or from thrift food stores. Around this time SNAP (foodstamps) got a big revitalization so fresher food is more available and there’s help with grocery costs. Other resources are places like Food banks, food pantry’s , soup kitchens, charity’s or churches as a place to get some ingredients or a meal if particularly in need
Seasoning and sauces tend to be heavy, both out of recipes at the time but also if you have a lesser quality ingredient it’s easier to taste better/be better for you. Meals could be fixed too, having fixed menus and a few staple recipes to recycle through can be a real budgeting help and help to mothers/who cooks (this is true in middle class homes too)
I don’t know for sure but I can imagine that some staple recipes that might be shared are hold overs from the Great Depression or war rations, as they aren’t far off in the 60s. Things from necessity can quickly become a staple/nostalgic as well as already being a thrifty recipe.
Repair, reuse and recycle-
Broken and dirty things aren’t just tossed away as easily, if it can be cleaned or fixed in anyway- it will be or kept around until it can be. Clothes are mended— wear shoes till there’s holes and they’re taped just to stay on before getting a new pair.
Repairs, damaged and broken things or parts of the house that need repair can take a long time to get around to if most of the house is working. If you can’t fix yourself but can’t afford a repairman either. Poor economic circumstances can make people get creative and build practical skills, learn to fix, pick parts and Jerry-rig. When fixing or replacing can be a luxury it’s a great skill to learn for yourself.
I’ve talked about it in my car post but there’s also junk yards! It’s not just cars and it’s not always an established spot, sometimes it’s someone’s literal lawn/yard. A place to pick stuff apart for parts to use or sell — it is a good help and spot for community. Mentioned in the movie how the Curtis yard and a few surrounding have the beginnings, old Cars, lumber etc

Use things up! You finish shampoo? Put water in it. Stretch it. There’s a tangible appreciation of even mundane products, fully using what you have.
Reuse old containers (like the trope of the sewing kit in the cookies or the butter as Tupperware.) the 1960s had a lot of good solid glass and other material containers that could truly be reused and durable.
Sacrifice-
Sometimes you have to make the rough choices, what gets fixed, what bills get paid, who showers, who eats? What is the priority for this paycheck? It can be hard to save up.
There’s also a variety of social programs, officers and charities to work through. While not always reliable services like employment offices, night school, skill centers etc all exist as additional resources. Increasingly so with the social changes of the 1960s and pressure put on the government to make change.
Pride and community-
First brought up and I’ve explained it better in this post, but there’s a real social safety net and reliance on others. You help your own and also know when to mind your business. Talking at the gas station or bait/hunting shopping or local dive instead of cocktail parties, waving off porches where everyone’s invited.
At the same time it’s an environment where it’s easier for teens to turn to the street, getting rough and gangs. Between boredom, masculinity and sometimes necessity it’s easy to see. Especially when home might be at work a lot or caring that stress/anger home and creating a cycle.
There’s resolve, practical skill, love, resilience too. At the end of the day you go out and shop, you talk with neighbors, you go to school or watch TV like anyone else. what I don’t want to do is paint a desolate victim image— there’s so much more to a person than hard decisions or being poor. That’s part of what the Outsiders is about— how they’re regular guys too but this image put on them can really bring a guy down.
There’s pride too, that doesn’t come from ownership. From paving way, from survival, from managing on your own. Pride for yourself and your community despite negativity.
Greasy girls make do-
When money is scarce you’re not going to have a large budget for non essentials like makeup, hair rollers etc. So you get creative, there’s stories of Dolly pinching her cheeks or making eye liner from burnt matchsticks— girls find a way to pretty themselves. Now I don’t think most on the east side are at that extent but it highlights my point. Honestly i think most of the girls would lift some of their collection, or have it from the pharmacy not the Sears (not so different from today.) they’d also do it far bolder/heavier.
No rollers the size you want? No problem… orange drink cans! Or any empty can, it’s become a “redneck trope” At this point but it’s longstanding, same goes for using a literal clothes iron to straighten hair (both would also be used by middle class girls).
Girls would also be working, helping family if need be too. Important to note this. There’s always been working women, long before Ww2 and don’t ever think otherwise.

If you’re still taking requests for stories could you do one where a hot jock turns his gay friend into a pair of classic hanes socks after he finds him sniffing his sweaty gym socks? These sock transformations are incredible btw

Richard returned from his daily gym sessions. His 6'2" frame was hot and sweaty from an intense, almost two hour workout. He pulled off his shirt, which was soaked in sweat and his gym shorts. Lastly, he pulled his sweaty socks off his feet. They felt drenched and reeked of his foot sweat. He had worn them all week to the gym. It soon would be time to replace them with a new pair of special gym socks. He went and took a shower. He came back out to see his gay roommate holding his smelly gym socks in his hands, sniffing them and jacking off at the same time.
"What the fuck are you doing, Paul!" Richard spoke loudly, which startled his gay roommate. Paul had the look of shock on his face when he saw he was caught in the act.
"Your gym socks just drive me crazy, I can't lie to you. I have been doing this all week. I was hoping you wouldn't catch me." Paul, who was 5'8" on average body, spoke to him. He always admired his tall athletic straight jock roommate ever since he moved in with him. They had been friends for a long time since childhood days.
"So you have been jacking off to my sweaty socks every day?" Richard asked to be sure what he heard was true. He saw Paul nod his head back in response. "You know that is a little sick, right?" He added while getting dressed.
"I can't help it. Your feet are so hot. I am actually jealous of your socks and shoes." Paul admitted without shame. He saw Richard laugh at what he said.
"Wow," Richard said after laughing so hard. It then dawned on him that this could be a blessing in disguise. His gay roommate could be the perfect gym socks. "Perhaps you could help me." He spoke as he went to his drawer and got out a tiny bottle with a liquid inside it.
"How can I help?" Paul asked as Richard handed him the tiny bottle. "Drink this down first." He was told. "Trust me, buddy." Richard added. He opened it and swallowed the contents. It had a fruity taste to it. "Now what?" Paul asked.
Richard pointed his phone camera at Paul. He opened up his TFed app. "You'll see." He spoke as he pressed the flash option in the app. Paul vanished, and in his place was a fresh new pair of classic Hanes socks on the floor. He picked them up off the floor. "Let me explain. You drank a durability formula. It makes you into strong material that will last forever. Secondly, I turned you into my new gym socks. I will wear you for every gym session. You will get sweaty and stinky. You loved my feet so much, you should be used by them then." He spoke as he placed his new gym socks on his dresser.
FIVE MONTHS LATER.......
Richard wiggled his toes in his special gym socks. Paul was holding up well even after five months. It was a great idea turning him into his gym socks. He didn't know what his former roommate thought about his new life, but he hoped he was enjoying it. Paul was the best pair of gym socks he ever owned.
Paul was in love with his new existence and yet hated it at the same time. Yes, he got to experience Richard's feet up close and personal, but he was also nothing but socks to him now. Richard already had a new roommate who was a straight guy. He even told his new roommate about his gym socks. The new roommate thought it was so hilarious, yet he did not feel sorry for him. He was stuck forever, being nothing but socks to his former straight jock friend.

~ BLOOD & BLISS ~
Chapter Six
Chapter Seven
—————————————————————————————————
It has never crossed your mind that your husband, your Alastor, was a killer.
You decided to meddle and found that many of Alastor’s clothing was missing.
All replaced with new clothes.
You also noticed that your shovel was missing and so were his hunting knives.
Where were these things and why were they missing?
Alastor had a habit of keeping the newspaper, so you went through each one that talked about a missing person or killing.
Every one occurred when Alastor was gone to work.
Your mind started to whirl. You thought back to when you visited your mother
”A killer is right in your backyard”
You had played it off as your mother just being concerned for your well-being…but now that you thought about it…
What was Al doing when he was at work?
You always listened in on his radio shows, but due to your pregnancy you haven’t really listened in.
You thought about when Alastor was home.
No killings.
But you remembered the bags filled with red liquid that you saw in the cellar.
That liquid was blood you were sure omit, but Alastor had reassured you that it wasn’t.
The bags mysteriously disappeared and now thee cellar is locked.
He said it was a deer carcass but the texture of the blood wasn’t right.
Then the stew.
A normal stew that your husband had made.
But the meat wasn’t right.
And Alastor was a damn good cook, but it was something off about the meat.
And now his clothes, that were hidden were covered in blood.
You stood in the kitchen. You looked around.
Nothing was out of place. It looked as it always did.
was that always like that?
Your backsplash was quartz, you should know you picked it out, but this backsplash wasn’t.
quartz doesnt stain….marble does.
You took your finger and dug into the cracks of the stone, feeling for any residue of something.
You pull your finger back and deep red stained your finger.
You looked at it and tilted your head.
Was it….only one way to find out.
You popped your finger in your mouth and gagged.
Blood.
You were shaking.
why the hell was blood in your kitchen?
——————————————————————————————
All Alastor wanted to do was take a nice hot shower and cuddle with you. Work has been chaotic with police reports and everyone wants to ask their opinion on the radio show.
He entered the house and shrugged off his jacket and kicked off his shoes, you were no where to be seen and it was quiet.
He decided to take his chances to see if you were in the kitchen, he didnt smell dinner, but that didnt mean that you werent in your little domain.
His eyes landed on the laundry cluttered on the table, his brows furrowing seeing the clothes he had meant to dispose.
“Darling?” he called; the sound of footsteps could be heard upstairs and finally you appeared in the doorway of the kitchen.
You didnt greet him like usual. You stood guarded.
He felt his shackled rise but he remained calm.
A charming smile stretched across his face
“No hello kiss? Im wounded dear”
you frowned “Al…you want to tell me why when I was washing clothes that i found blood stains?”
You walked to the laundry and lifted out the spoiled clothes that were horribly washed and stained.
Al stiffened but composed himself “Had a bit of an accident that all dear”
Your eyes narrowed “An accident? then explain why my backsplash was replaced”
He tilted his head “replaced? Dearest the backsplash ain’t been changed its the same”
You waddled over and pulled the tile you had dug out, revealing a red stained wall.
”I had this kitchen made exactly to my liking. I had materials used that were durable and easy to clean. Quartz doesn’t stain, so tell me. Why is my wall stained?”
Alastor was quiet.
”This is blood Al! Why is there blood on my wall? In our house?”
”I skinned the deer in the kitchen. I didn’t want you throwing a fit,I know how much you love your kitchen dear, so I tried to clean it, but it was already too much and stained so I just did a slight home renovation.”
You shook your head “Youre lying” Alastor stiffened.
”What?”
”Youre lying. You’ve never skinned anything in my kitchen. Al…” you huffed, rubbing your belly for comfort.
”I’m a lot of things, but stupid id not one of them. You think that just because I hate the outdoors that I don’t know what deer blood looks like? This color is wrong. The meat in the stew was wrong and those bags…what was in those bags in the cellar?”
Alastor was quiet.
“Things in this house is missing. The shovel, the knives, your clothes have been replaced and my backsplash is different. What the hell-”
”It doesn’t concern you”
You blinked, stopping your rant.
”e-excuse me? Doesn’t concern me? Doesn’t concern me?! Alastor we are having a baby! How are we suppose to raise a child if you’re a killer?!”
You immediately stiffened.
oops.
Alastor’s eyes darkened “what did you say doll?”
Your stomach lurched.
Your heart was pounding in your chest.
”Y-Youre a killer…its…its you.”
He laughed.
A deep sound coming from his belly as he twirled in a circle in disbelief.
”Oh doll! That’s a good one. You have been reading the papers again huh? Oooh that’s a good one” he shook his head as he chuckled.
”Baby…that is one big accusation.”
He approached you slowly.
”A few bloody clothes, some missing items, a rancid stew and you think I’m a killer? What you think I’m the Bayou Killer?”
His smile fell.
”that’s a wild imagination you got dear”
Alastor took a deep breath as he settled his hands on your round hips “I’m no killer doll. I just got roughed up by a couple of goons who didn’t like what I had to say on the radio. That’s all it is”
He leaned down, almost like he meant to press his lips to your forehead in a reassuring kiss.
”there’s a body in my flower garden” you whispered, making him pause.
He blinked, a shaky chuckle escaping him “what?” He pulled back
”there’s a body in my flower garden.” You repeated, you felt a pain in your stomach, a hand going to rub the babe inside you soothingly.
”there’s not a body in the garden ” Alastor said, firmly.
”Then go look”
He sighed and went to make his way to the back porch and you followed behind him and once he stepped onto the porch, you quickly shut the door and locked it.
Alastor spun around. “Dearest?”
You were breathing hard as you stood on the other side of the door
”I am going to report you”
He frowned, hand wrapping around the door knob and jiggling it “baby this isnt funny…open the door”
You shook your head, he began to violently jiggle the handle, you backed away “no. If you wont tell me, then the officers will”
you disappeared into the house, leaving him banging at the door, his voice booming as he rammed against the door.
You had locked every door to the house and hid the keys.
Your back was aching and your stomach was twisting.
You could hear banging and Alastor’s voice echoing as he shouted at you to let him inside.
You ran upstairs and locked the door.
You paced.
Your head was spinning, your breathing was harsh and your stomach was hurting.
You groaned as you rubbed your belly
”its okay its okay” you whispered to your baby, rubbing your stomach.
A loud bang was heard throughout the house making you jump awake.
What the hell….
You quickly got up, grunting as pain shot through you.
It was dark now, the house pitch black and quiet except for his footsteps as he moved through the house.
”baby!” Alastor called.
You were sweating and in pain.
You groaned as you made your way to the bathroom to hide.
You heard a loud hacking noise, wood crunching and heavy footsteps.
You winced as you sunk into the tub.
it was quiet.
too quiet.
The doorhandle to your bedroom jingled, turning before a knock was heard.
You stayed quiet.
”Dearest open the door” you head him say, muffled through the door.
You said nothing.
How the hell did he get in house?
A loud bang to your door knocked the hinges.
A low grunt was heard and again a thud.
Over and over he rammed against thee door and then it was quiet.
You felt a pressure and then wetness coated your thighs. Your eyes widened and you gasped as clear liquid dripped from between your legs.
oh no…
WHACK!
Your head shot up.
WHACK!
The sound of something hitting the wooden door echoed.
”Youre making this harder than it needs to be” Alastor grunted.
WHACK!
An axe.
He was hacking at your door with an axe….
“I really did it for you dear.”
Wood crunching and cracking.
”You weren’t meant to know. No. Not my. Sweet wife.”
THUD!
WHACK!
CRACK!
Your fingers dug into the smoothness of the tub as you felt pressure in your hips.
The sound of wood cracking met your ears and then footsteps.
You let out a low grunt, forehead pressing into the cool tile.
A low, disheveled huff was heard and the door to the bathroom flung open and there was Alastor, holding an axe and breathing hard.
”You weren’t meant to find now. I made sure that you weren’t meant to know. Youre the only good thing that I have and I would be damned if….dearest?”
Your hair was sticking to your forehead and your face was contorted in pain.
Alastor threw the axe down and rushed to your side, face concerned.
”what is it? What’s wrong?”
Your eyes clenched as you grunted.
Alastor’s eyes looked you over, blood was slowly pooling into the tub.
You groaned as a wave of pain shot through you, leaving you breathless.
”The baby…the baby’s coming”
