Champions Resurrected AU / Prelude 1: Mipha
i was gonna post this on AO3 and I still might if I write more, but here’s a brief written retelling/continuation of the Mipha & Sidon reunion comic (warnings: canon typical violence? just in case)
The crackling noise that shook through Zora’s Domain that morning was mistaken for thunder at first. Zoras chatted amongst themselves, puzzled over lightning in a cloudless sky. Even King Dorephan, who had lived long enough to experience nearly every natural oddity that occurred near the Domain, leaned forward on his throne to peer into the vast blue.
“There, Father! Do you see it?” Sidon, always eager to abandon their discussions on politics, pointed toward the falling beam as it cut through the sky. “A falling star during the day. How rare!”
“I doubt it,” Dorephan rumbled. “I’ve seen many falling stars. I’ve never seen one like that. Something is strange about it.”
“Your Majesty, we are under attack!”
Sidon only winced a little at the sharp voice, before straightening up on instinct. He watched his father shoot his advisor an amused look as he rushed in.
“I doubt that as well, Muzu,” Dorephan chuckled. “If so, our enemy’s aim could certainly use some work!”
“Your Majesty!” Muzu cried, wringing his hands. “Please, consider the possibility at least!”
Sidon tuned out the conversation, walking out to the balcony and watching the dazzling light as it descended. Now that he was really looking, it had a faint blue glow to it that seemed to be dimming as it approached the ground. Its movement was strange, bobbing through the air like it was adjusting its course. A Rito, perhaps?
Sidon certainly hoped not as he watched the light plummet behind the rocks and into the Bank of Wishes. He hadn’t met many, but from what he’d heard, the Rito weren’t particularly keen swimmers. His fins itched as thoughts of warbled squawking and the charging of Lizalfo shock arrows plagued his mind.
“I will go investigate,” Sidon said, loudly enough to cut off whatever tirade Muzu had been in the middle of.
“Sire! Surely you’re joking!” Muzu said. “You cannot be so reckless! Ever since you took on Vah Ruta, you’ve been acting as though you are invincible, insisting you handle things yourself. If you keep acting as such—”
“I am very fast and very capable. I will be back if it is anything too dangerous, I assure you!” Sidon said with a grin. He was already stepping backward towards the edge of the balcony. “You have my word.”
“My Lord!” Muzu cried as Sidon winked, before leaping gracefully off the ledge and into the waters below.
By the time Muzu had made his way to the balcony, the only trace of the prince was a slice of red cutting effortlessly through Ruto Lake.

Mipha groaned, opening her eyes and immediately regretting it as she was buffeted by the fierce wind. As she grasped uselessly at her surroundings, every nerve suddenly sparked to life as she realized she was falling. Fast.
Her right fin was pulled open by a gust and she spun with a yelp, being tossed violently through the air. It reminded her of swimming down a waterfall, the dizzying feeling of the current and gravity pulling you relentlessly toward the sharp rocks below.
“Always keep your eyes forward, my dear Mipha,” her father’s voice echoed, pulling her back to her youth when she’d foolishly closed her eyes and nearly missed the lake below. “The most dangerous thing you can do is let your fear steer you.”
Prying her eyes open, she extended her fins and clumsily straightened herself. She felt a wave of nausea hit as the faded blues of distance gave way to the vibrant greens and purples of the earth below. A long leap off a waterfall, she told herself, that’s all this was.
Mipha bit her lip as she took in the surroundings. Even from this height, she could recognize her home, even if the sight brought her little comfort in her current situation. She was positioned over the Zora River now but could feel the wind knocking her around. Even a few feet off target could spell the end, and Mipha was already more acquainted with death than she ever wished to be.
With a shaky breath, she pulled her arms to her sides and flattened her fins, picking up speed until the world blurred. The wind whistling past her was nearly loud enough to hurt but was soon muddled by the familiar sound of rushing water and bubbling air pockets. She opened her fins quickly to slow the pull downward, relenting only when the pull of gravity faded to the gentle current of the river.
When the bubbles finally cleared, Mipha found herself upsetting close to the rocky bottom of Zora River.
She could still feel her heartbeat everywhere, behind her eyes and at the ends of her fins. She fought the tears pricking her eyes, shaking as the adrenaline slowly filtered from her system.
It was only after she’d allowed herself a moment of reprieve that it clicked.
She had a heartbeat. She could see the small bubbles pushing around her as she moved the water around her. She was here, alive.
“How is this…” Mipha stared at her hands, unmistakably solid, and forgave the tremor in her voice. “What happened?”
A warm light had descended into the depths of Vah Ruta. Mipha had known instantly what it was—could feel the warmth of Hylia even through the coldness of her spirit. She briefly said her goodbyes, before capturing the light in her hands and fading away.
In all honesty, Mipha hadn’t been certain what would come after that. But hurtling toward the ground at high speeds had not been it.
“I should…what should I do?” Mipha waded anxiously back and forth beneath the turbulent current. “Should I return to the Domain? Would that cause some sort of issue? Perhaps I should return to Vah Ruta…”
Despite her fondness for her Divine Beast, Mipha couldn’t suppress the shudder that ran through her at that. Surely after committing one hundred years to her tomb, the Goddesses would forgive her stalling her return a bit.
“I’m not even sure how much time has passed since Link’s victory over Ganon…” Mipha mumbled quietly. “For all I know, thousands of years have passed. Perhaps I’ve been reincarnated? Though I don’t think one usually reincarnates as an adult. Or with their memories, for that matter.” Even passing fish seemed to eye her warily as she fidgeted in place. She groaned.
“Oh, just make up your mind, Mipha!” she scolded quietly, squishing her face. “Right, then I’ll return to the Domain and ask around. Surely someone will be able to fill in the details.”
With that, Mipha propelled herself upwards into the main current, pivoted around the bend, and smashed headlong into something.
It was large and red, but that was all Mipha could make out past the stars in her eyes. The direct hit to the nose had shocked her system, leaving her nearly blind in the water. Dazed, she pushed upwards until water gave way to cool air. She shook her head, which only served to worsen the ringing in her ears.
Thankful at least that her sight returned, Mipha blinked and almost doubted her newly restored vision. A Zora nearly twice her size was treading water in front of her, rubbing his nose and saying something Mipha couldn’t quite make out.
“…a…logies, I must h… let the cur…nt…rry me too quickly. Are you injured? I can help you back to the Domain if you are. Again, I apologize for…” The large Zora trailed off as he looked down, blinking owlishly at Mipha.
He was familiar in a way that pulled deep at Mipha’s soul. She could see the lines of others—parts of her father, her mother, even some of herself—but it was the way his eyes lit up with an almost childlike hope that solidified what her heart already knew.
“Sidon?” She asked.
Sidon’s face split into a blinding grin.
“Sister!” He swam forward, before jolting to a stop. His eyes snapped behind her, and it was as they widened in horror that Mipha heard the charging of a shock arrow being knocked.
Spinning, Mipha reached for her trident and was met with empty air. Frantic, she launched a weak spray of water at the Lizalfo before being yanked away. She heard the arrow loose, then the sickening thunk as it embedded into skin.
She looked up at Sidon, who was hunched over her protectively. He winced, undoubtedly from the arrow lodged in his shoulder, and turned to the Lizalfo with gritted teeth.
“No!” Mipha cried. She pulled Sidon underwater, doing her best to ignore the pained yelp as she tugged on his injured arm to urge him lower.
“If I hadn’t struck the arrow with water and activated the shock before it hit you, your injury would be much more severe. We must dive deep enough that the shock radius won’t hit us if he fires again.”
“It’s just one Lizalfo, Sister!” Sidon said, but she could hear him hiss a little as he swam. “I promise, I’ve handled much worse!”
“There is never just one Lizalfo, Sidon,” She chided. “This should be deep enough. Let me heal you.”
She swam behind him, frowning at the scars that littered his body. “I need to remove the arrow before I can begin. I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright,” Sidon says, his smile strained slightly with pain. “It’s not the first time that this has happened.”
“That is what concerns me,” Mipha said quietly. She yanked the arrow out quickly before pressing her hands to the wound, pooling her energy into her palms. “I have no doubt you have defended our domain bravely, Sidon. I’m so incredibly proud of you. I only wish I could have been there to heal you and protect you from harm.”
“Sister…” Sidon said quietly. He moved to turn, but Mipha tutted at him and he stayed still, tilting his head down to stare at the riverbed below.
“It has undoubtedly been difficult since your…since you failed to return from Vah Ruta,” Sidon said. “But your unending kindness and devotion have been a beacon of hope for our whole kingdom. None more than me. You may not have known it, but there was never a moment you weren’t with me.”
He tilted his head to the side, peering over his shoulder as Mipha worked. “If I may ask, Sister, how is it that you’ve managed to return? Not that I’m ungrateful, I assure you! But…”
“In all honesty, I’m not sure myself,” Mipha said, quietly lifting her hands as the last threads of her healing magic settled into Sidon. “One moment I was aboard Vah Ruta, a spirit, finally content to move on knowing the war was won and our people were safe. Then, the next moment, I’m hurtling toward the ground, several thousand feet in the air. I’m at a loss for explanations.”
Sidon spun around quickly, eyes sparkling. “That glowing comet in the sky, that was you? That is amazing! Extraordinary!” He grabbed her hands, smiling wide. “This must be a gift from the Goddess! Payment for your hard work and sacrifice, no doubt! No one would be more deserving than you!”
At that, Mipha paused. “Do you think…The other Champions, would they have also…?”
“Perhaps so,” Sidon said, scratching his chin. “I can’t say I’ve heard anything, but admittedly I don’t keep very informed on foreign affairs. Perhaps someone else in the Domain has heard something? Or…!”
Sidon snapped to attention, smile glowing impossibly brighter. “I’ll send for Link! Surely he’ll know, as well-traveled and sociable as he is, and I have no doubt he will be thrilled to see you again! Perhaps we could even call the engagement back on!”
Mipha sputtered bubbles at Sidon’a grin. “S-Sidon! There is—was never any engagement! Link and I are friends, th-that’s all!”
Sidon frowned, looking thoughtful. “But I was positive the Zora armor was for him. It looked like a perfect fit!”
“Oh, you found that then?” Mipha said, voice pitching up an octave. “That was, erm, well it was a rash decision really. I thought better of it, hence why he never found out about it! So really, there’s no need to tell him it was even made!”
“Ah, so you didn’t end up confessing anything,” Sidon said, nodding. “Your diary entry was unclear, so I wasn’t sure whether the two of you had made proper arrangements or not. Poor Link remembers very little from that time, unfortunately, and even showing him the passage didn’t seem to help.”
“You…You read my diary?” Mipha mumbled in disbelief. She then swayed a little, realization hitting her. “Link read my diary?!”
“Yes?”
“Did…Did anyone else?”
“Father, Muzu, and a very talented Rito bard named Kass.”
Mipha made a noise like a tea kettle and Sidon looked immediately abashed, glancing away. “Er, I do hope that was alright? Father said you likely wouldn’t have minded, and I wanted so desperately to preserve your legacy.”
“Well, then I have a few words for Father,” Mipha huffed. “Reading a girl’s diary, really! How uncouth.”
She swam past him before turning, holding out a hand for Sidon. It felt a little silly now, offering to guide a Zora so much larger than herself. He must be about her age now and had clearly grown into a capable warrior. But in those eyes, Mipha could only see her young brother, still anxious to speak to others or swim too far from her side.
If Sidon took offense to the gesture, he showed no sign of it as he took her hand tightly. But then he let go, swam beside her, withdrew his trident—Mipha almost thought it was her own, but reconsidered when she noticed how large it was—and set it horizontally behind his back. He tilted his head toward it, but Mipha simply stared in confusion.
“I imagine falling from the sky was a harrowing experience, and I cannot begin to think of how taxing being revived from the dead must be,” Sidon clears his throat, eyes drifting to the side. “Allow me to carry you back. It will be easier to dodge enemies if we travel together, and I assure you I am capable. I am one of the fastest swimmers in the Domain, after all!”
Mipha stared at him a moment more before his action clicked into place. She’d done the same things for him when he was young—using her own trident as a handgrip for a much smaller Sidon as they traversed the waterfalls. Muzu had worried endlessly about it, convinced that Sidon would slip or that his grip would falter and he would go coasting off the side of a cliff. But she’d insisted that she trusted Sidon’s strength and courage, and her father had agreed to allow her to continue.
Now, Sidon swam nervously in front of her, offering his trident to her in the same gesture. She felt her heart swell, seeing that even after all these years, he hadn’t forgotten their time together. She smiled, tears threatening to spill from her eyes again as she dove behind Sidon. He turned to look, smile faltering for a moment before Mipha set a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“Forgive me, Sidon. I was overcome with emotions. I trust you, and thank you for your kindness.” She tightened her hands around the trident, and the feeling of cool Zora steel beneath her hands for the first time in a century sent a chill through her. “I’m ready when you a—re!”
Mipha bit down a yelp as Sidon shot through the water at near-blinding speeds. It took her a moment to adjust, and even the familiar Zora River left her speechless as it whipped by. She now had no doubt her brother was the strongest swimmer she’d ever met—it was as if the water itself was pushing him forward like a jet stream. It was exhilarating, almost like learning to swim all over again, and Mipha couldn’t contain the joyous laughter that pulled its way out of her.
She was here, really here, feeling the water on her scales and the cool metal under her fingers. She could see the fish and plants move as they swam by, could see the trail of bubbles in their wake. When they broke the surface of the water, cutting effortlessly up the falls of the Domain, she gasped, taking in the view.
She was with her beloved brother, in her beloved home, and she was alive.

Totk Ficlet: Pity
(An alternate take on a scene in Tears of the kingdom. Spoiler warning)
The Demon king felt himself drop to one knee. His eyes burning with rage at the man in front of him. The young blond hylian with eyes looking right at him. The other sages had finished the last of the phantoms and were gasping for breath. They were tired, as was the demon king. The only one still seemingly with energy was the wielder of the sword that seals the darkness
He was so sure that this swordsman was not a threat to him, he was so sure the time to conquer hyrule was now, yet somehow, this hero and his group of new sages were not only matching him, they were winning.
“How? How are you doing this!?” The demon king roared.
The swordsman stood silent, his blade remained drawn and shining brightly.
“I am the Demon King Ganondorf! The one that will throw this world into eternal Darkness. How can you stand against me!? Tell me Link!”
That was the first time during the fight that he called his name without disgust or dismissal. He called out the Hylian’s name with Rage and begrudging respect.
Link’s expression shifted, not showing his intense focus he once had. His expression started to fill with something the demon king could not believe.
“What is with that expression? Where is your focus? your anger!? Your hatred!?”
Link was not one for words. The pressure of being the hero chosen by the master sword left him with little to say. But in this moment, Link was not looking at the Demon king of Hyrule, nor the king of the Gerudo.
“I saw what you’ve done.” Link spoke. His voice steady, the sudden words made the demon king and the other sages take notice.
“For many reasons I should hate you. But, seeing what you once were, what you are now…” Link paused, taking a moment to think of the right words.
The other sages were surprised, Mineru especially couldn’t believe the words. What was the hero feeling?
“So hero, if you don’t hate me. What do you feel?” Ganondorf asked with a mix of amusement and frustration that didn’t seem feasible to feel.
“I think the word is… pity.” Link answered.
The word hung in the air of the dark abyss.
Ganondorf felt as if he had been slashed by the very blade the hero was wielding.
Pity?! He pitied him? The demon king!? The one that made Rauru so desperate that he was sealed away!? The one that killed Queen Sonia? The one that would plunge the world into darkness! The hero has pity on him!?
“You Pity me!? Me! The most powerful being in all of Hyrule! The master of darkness! The demon king that rivals the gods! You pity me!? How can you come up with such a ridiculous notion!?”
“You’re alone.”
The quick response left the area silent, only to be broken up by giggles.
Everyone looked to see the young Rito, Tulin trying to stifle his laugh but failing.
“Sorry, it’s just pretty funny. He can summon monsters but not friends.” Tulin answered.
The comment caused Riju to start chuckling, in agreement with the Rito.
“I refuse to believe a pitiful monster such as this was once a Gerudo.”
Soon Yunobo and Sidon joined in with Hearty laughter.
“He really does seem kind of sad when you think about it. The Demon king that has to make his own servants.” Yunobo pointed out.
“Well said Link. This Demon King fails to understand what it means to be a king.” Sidon exclaimed with a flashy smile.
Mineru, who was dumbfounded by the turn of events ended up letting out a fit of chortles. This was unexpected. Truly Zelda was right when she said her Knight was special. Only Link could lose his arm, and see the horrors of the Demon king and point out the one thing that would strike him so fiercely.
The demon king felt his blood boil at the laughter of the Sages. Did this Swordsman just mock him!?
He wanted to strike him but he felt his body ache. His body was already at its limit. But he did know one thing he could do. He didn’t care if he lost himself in his hatred. There is one thing he would not be. He would not be pitied by a damn sword swinging nobody.
He pulled the sage stone from his forehead. He would end this.

For the requests, How would Sidon react to all the Links showing up in his domain?
Title: Answers
Words: 920
Sidon set down his quill with a sigh, drying his hands once more. The humidity in the domain constantly condensated on his scales and made keeping his letters dry enough not to smear quite a challenge. The Queen would understand a few smudges of course, but legibility was the whole point and Sidon would much prefer his correspondence with her to befit her status.
Although, he supposed that if she couldn’t read the first half of it she could simply refer back to the last ten messages he’d sent, seeing as they all said the same thing. No, there was no sign of Link here either, and yes, the monsters did seem to be more bothersome lately. No, no one had an inkling as to why, and yes, Divine Beast Ruta was acting unsettled to say the least. In worse news, the Shatterback Point Lynel had been venturing further and further from the peak, and Sidon feared they would have to do something about it soon. Bless his father’s heart, he was reaching an age where all these duties fell to Sidon.
Sidon picked up his quill again but down the stairs from the throne room there was a burst of sound. The shrine room lit up, a sight that would normally have Sidon jumping for joy, but instead of Sheikah teal it was crackling red and dark.
“With me!” Sidon commanded the guards nearby, practically throwing himself down the stairs. This didn’t bode well at all. “Stay back!” he said to the gathered crowd, trying to get through them to see the threat.
A moment later there were a number of splashes, a beat, and then an excited whoop that could only belong to one person. “This one’s mine, guys!”
His hero.
Sidon could’ve cried with relief. He rushed to the doorway, nose twitching at the undeniable scent of blood, and took in the sight before him. For a moment thought he was dreaming, because not one Hylian youth stood in the shrine pool, dripping water and a little blood, grinning widely, but- seven? Eight?
A small blond one popped up from under one clad in red, shoving him aside, which made nine. Sidon had thought Link was small, but that one wasn’t even the smallest in the group. Another with even longer blond hair was doubled over with his hands braced on his knees, looking like he was trying not to be sick.
But then Sidon was locking eyes with Link and his face was lighting up and Sidon suddenly had a welcome armful of excited Hylian. Sidon had so many questions, not the least pertinent of which was how to finish his letter to the queen, but for the moment he pushed them all aside, returning Link’s hug with care but tightly nonetheless, reassuring himself that this was no mirage.
“Welcome back to Zora’s Domain, my friend,” he said, with a soft, toothy smile. He waited another moment before remembering that he was a prince and had a job to do. “I see you brought guests?”
Link pulled out of the hug, and Sidon hadn’t realized how much he missed that grin until it was back, even though his temple was streaked with watered down blood. “Right! Uh, Sidon, these are my questing companions. Guys, this is Prince Sidon!”
“A quest?” Sidon asked. “Oh Link, where have you been these past months?”
Link’s face fell. “Has it been that long?”
Oh no, was the head injury worse than Sidon had thought? Hylian brains could be very fragile. Some of his panic must’ve shown on his face because one of Link’s friends stepped forward.
“Your highness, if I may?” he asked, giving up on wringing out his blue cape and surrendering it to the pool.
“Please, just Sidon, any friends of Link are friends of mine,” Sidon said, patting Link’s shoulder.
“Sidon,” the man corrected. “It’s a little complicated, but the long and short of it is that the way we’ve been traveling distorts our perception of time. Your Link will be fine.”
“We’ve got so much to talk to Zelda and Purah about,” Link rushed to say. “Have they been able to find anything out about the Shadow?”
Sidon didn’t know how to answer that, although he knew that Queen Zelda had been just as stumped as the domain, but he was saved from telling Link that by another speaking up.
“Wild,” one of the other men said, a worried hand on the smallest quester’s back. His fur pelt was surprisingly quick to dry.
“Oh! Right, we’ll catch up later,” Link said, looking sheepish. “Sidon, do you have a place for us to stay? Portals can be a bit rough and we need to figure out our next step.”
“Of course, Link,” Sidon said instantly, then realized his err. “Oh, uh, I’m afraid our Hylian accommodations are a bit lacking.”
“We’ve had worse,” one assured him, the scar over his eye crinkling.
“Yeah, remember how bad Wind’s ship smelled?” the one in red teased, and the blond one in blue kicked a bunch of water his way.
“Lead the way, big guy,” said one mostly dressed in white, helping another to his feet.
Sidon turned to lead the procession out of the shrine room, never taking his hand off Link’s shoulder. He was home, with a host of friends who seemed to know what was going on, and lo and behold, there was the end of his letter to Queen Zelda. It’s all going to be okay, your highness. Link is back with answers.

1 word ask box challenge:
"Surfing"
Lots of love for your sidlink fics
They're sitting on the shore, the closest village is miles away. The waves in this area at tall and powerful; Zelda's eyelids are fluttering open and closed as she pretends to still be reading instead of actually taking a break and relaxing on this hazy summer day.
She hears, "no, no, No NO!" from the usually silent Yona who sat beside her, startling her awake, "IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO TRY AND SURF ON SIDON'S BACK, LINK!"

Hello! I just stumbled across your Self aware loz au, and I loved it! Do you have anymore ideas for ficlets for it? Oh! May I ask for the reader meeting Sidon? ( the timeline isn’t clear but I think it’s after Botw?) if not Sidon then Revali if it takes place during totk?
So my time frame for the series is post botw pre totk. Though I can't wait to explore Ganon's feelings on reader. Because there would be many.
Content warning: none.
Meeting Sidon had been big on your list of things to do. Link had told a bunch of stories of the fish man. And while you were still struggling with a heavy fog in your mind, you were ready to explore. Zelda had been hesitant to allow that. The fog was more a mixing of emotions and lives. She said it was a self protection from remembering being a God and adjusting to being back. She wasn't wrong but more it was like the you from your world was being turned into a God, not remembering it.
Regardless Zelda and Link knew if you wanted to go you would, they couldn't stop you. You were the high God. The progenitor. They had no right to make demands. So instead they went with you. Link was excited to introduce you to everyone. His silence had become less common since your arrival.
The domain itself was far more grand in person than it had been on the screen. Feeling the cool air and stone brought a sense of tranquility. The group had been swiftly approached by the prince who happily called for Link. And you smiled watching the *large* zora lift Link into a hug. Huh...you never realized how big the Zora truly were before.
Sidon was simply excited, he'd gotten the letter informing his people of their arrival. With the rumors of the return of the progenitor floating about he figured Link and Zelda would be looking into that themselves. Even his father had sent some troops out to find out more.
So the shock he felt when you were revealed to himself and his people weren't as big as they should have been. Though he supposed he should have noticed, with your round ears and ethereal glow you seemed to have. It was only there if you weren't really looking directly at you.
Sidon the first night didn't get to speak to you much, his father and people had called for a celebration and things had gotten very busy very fast. Though he was glad it was a good thing this time. But he observed you from a distance and felt himself feel *shy* about approaching you directly. Even as a guppy he hadn't felt *this* shy. Though he never had a God in the domain before.... at times Link had felt divine with the sheer strength he had. But that was just him bragging about his bestie again.
He promised to himself that tomorrow after you'd rested he'd approach you himself. Maybe if he charmed you enough you could be convinced to stay longer! Wins all around.

Aight, here's what I got! These are (almost) all the documents I actually have words down for right now, whether that be prose or dialogue. Some of these are wips you've seen before, others are new. I will make a note for which are for what fandom.
As a forewarning I am far more likely to yap about my SU wips, but the LoZ ones aren't Dead per say, just dormant.
I will answer anything I get tomorrow evening.

Lighthouse 🌊
"He didn’t mean to stir the Zora Prince beside him, yet the membrane of their eyelids flicked open to the disturbance in the once turbulent water..now calm. "
A Liodon ficlet (Prince Sidon/my zora oc Lionel) that i finally fixed up for Zora May! 🐟 Jysk i p much never write 😅
Words: 432 ⬇️ ficlet below the cut!
Push, and pull.  Keep me under. Keep me afloat.  Swim towards the tide, Sink, yet rise.  Don’t ever-
The awakening isn’t violent, just a small jolt amongst the treads and gentle brush of limbs. No longer restless, shaking or gasping, only a dull ache in Lionel's chest over the waves he tried to still.
His gills worked perfectly fine to breathe underwater. Yet come night, he’d only suffocate, unanchored and weightless… until the night terrors came to drown him.
He didn’t mean to stir the Zora Prince beside him, yet the membrane of his eyelids flicked open to the disturbance in the once turbulent water..now calm. A life rope then stretched across, pulling him close and breathing life back into his lungs.
“Good morning, Lionel~.”
The rippled murmur of a familiar voice lifted him from what felt like a watery gallow, back to the surrounding glow of day above.
Bokeh blur of luminous stone fixtures, rounded grandeur room upon the high cliffs. An ethereal haze that hung quietly over the domain, far from all the worry down below.
All in a quick, wary glance, for his attention was all on the prince, shining upon him like the dawn sun seeping in from over the mountain range.
Oh Hylia, he was stunning. Skin peppered with marks and beads of water much like his, yet the prince glistened, just like his royal garments in the morning light. Lionel, utterly captivated by the red shade of desire, felt his face flush with a dull blue.
..It was blinding.
They were just… too different. Both leaders, yet wrapped deep and hidden in mangroves far underneath. Lionel was war, Sidon was peace. Lionel was the storm, while Sidon was the clearing. The prince looked past all that. A beacon in the midst of a typhoon.
How long had it been? The two used to share a sleeping pool together as children when his father Kahn, the scorned former general, rarely visited the domain. It had been too long, much too long. Too much had changed. Both were no longer the same.
Even as a fond grin piqued to gentle, wet lips lightly pressing against Lionel’s forehead, he could not still the violent tide in his ribs pushing and pulling within. Nor the comforting brush of a hand against his cheek could quell the doubts flooding in.
This was different. This was personal. Not what should be just a military alliance. A distraction. The currents of reality rushed in, pulling him down and snagging him on the sea rocks where the lighthouse could not glow.
... -Let go.

hi! I just re read colors of the heart and her knight (these are some of my fave sidlinks) and I was wondering if you were still thinking of writing a 'purple' chapter for Coth? or any sidlink in general? no pressure ofc, just curious :)
take care and have a great day!
Hello lovely anon! Thank you so much for the ask and let me tell you how happy I am to hear that!! <3
Sidlink is still very dear to me, especially since they got me back into writing after a really, really long break of not even thinking about writing a single little ficlet.
And although I am currently busy with another big project, I still haven't forgotten about the "purple" chapter nor those other Sidlink ideas (the dragon!sidon one for example or that one where link was found as a baby at a shoreline village and he becomes a fisher and meets mer!sidon and other little AU's and oneshots).
So, yeah I think I will write some more for them eventually. I also started to schedule my writing and updating rhythm to not overwork or burn myself out and take plenty of breaks in-between my current project so, when the mood strikes, I very much will be doing some more Sidlink (and maybe even Zelda/Mipha who knows *coughcough*) some day.
I just can't say when that will happen.
But thank you so, so much for your lovely words, anon! <3

Bored with nothing to do so I’m requesting streamer au again 😕🏃🏻‍♀️🤙
ask and ye shall receive ☝️😌✨ i mentioned in the tags that the last time i posted about streamer au that i wanna write the champions going to twitchcon and sharing an airbnb together sooo 👹
i'm actually not too sure how to incorporate the location of twitchcon into this au, because (1) i've never been to twitchcon actually KJDJFKKJS and (2) it depends on whether or not hyrule is divorced from the u.s. & the rest of human society e.g. a universe where hyrule is the country analogous to the u.s.... for purposes of this au, i've been kind of writing hyrule as a city that all the champions live in, so maybe it can be somewhere in the u.s.? what state does the city of hyrule give LOL
reading the wikipedia about twitchcon tells me that most of the cons have been held in san diego, CA so all the champions fly there together for the con, and could you just imagine them at an airport 😭 like you know those tiktoks of people either traveling with their family or their friend group and in each case there's always like the dad/dad-friend who's in charge of everything, from being there super early to holding all the passports, etc? because i can totally see daruk being that guy HAHAHKDJHFDKJ
outside of being a streamer, daruk is a dad irl and the oldest of the champs so he quite literally sees all of them as his kiddos 🥹 the flight will be at like 5pm but daruk insists on being there at the airport at 9am, he'd write labels on each of the champions' luggage with their contact information, he would put all their plane tickets into a manila folder and keeps a death grip on it until they reach the desk for boarding 😭 the dad instinct has been Activated ✅ and then when they get on the plane, daruk gets his little travel neck pillow on and conks the fuck out once the plane takes off 😄
before i continue, here's the plane seating configuration i was thinking of in my head:
Tumblr media
most planes are usually three-seaters instead of two but for purposes of this ficlet idrgaf 🤞🤓 move along and get with the fantasy 🙏❤️
urbosa will just be chilling to herself (i have this image of her with earphones in and also knitting? no one knew that urbosa was a knitter including me), sidon is talking to zelda's manager impa, and mipha and zelda are talking and giggling to themselves bc they're gfs now <3 but link and revali? woof. these homos are totally going to be shyly holding hands on the plane the whole time, and then when they land, zelda will post a selfie of her looking extremely unamused on the plane next to mipha giggling, with link in the background looking at revali with wide eyes blushing while revali is holding up their intertwined hands to his lips.
in my head, this is gonna be set after the LOH show from the last streamer au ask, but before the date that revali had planned during the show. so throughout the entirety of the event, from the plane rides to and from twitchcon to the sitting together at their panel, revali and link have Hella Tension with each other. since the date that revali had planned during the LOH hasn't happened yet (they have a day in mind though hehe), they're both anticipating it and are also in this limbo stage of being exclusive but not really having an actual label on their relationship. all they know is they really enjoy each other's presence and perhaps they'd like to be around each other more often :>
but link is still insecure and still quite surprised that revali even returns his interest, that the date has been planned and is on an actual, real day and that revali wants to go out with him, and oh goddess revali wants to go out with him. it has him sitting tensely in his seat, nearly sweating because this has to be some sort of fever dream, right? revali, a streamer infamous for his rather arrogant, brutal words and attitude, who has had all the disparaging insults to say about link, and doesn't miss a single chance to rag on him. this couldn't have been the same revali who looked at him so fondly through the camera on the LOH stream, who has taken note of everything link says offhandedly, who sent him a heart in their discord dms (and revali never uses emojis). this has to be some elaborate prank on link and—
he feels a sharp tap on the side of his head, knocking him out of his downward spiral, and he looks up, rubbing his head and ready to bicker with zelda, but it isn't zelda who's hit him. revali stares down at him, one knee on the plane seat and his hands on the headrests in their row and in front of them.
"stop thinking so loud," revali says, before finally sitting in his seat properly. "it's painful to watch."
link scoffs and rolls his eyes. "any more painful than watching you fall in the xp farm while you were making it?"
"maybe don't hit me while i'm building next time and i won't fall in," revali snips back.
"you were wearing an elytra."
"and with what space, pray tell, could i have used to gain altitude? it's a vertical column, you absolute fool, the only way was down."
"and down you went, so i could take all your xp," link replies cheerfully.
revali rolls his eyes as he finishes settling into his seat. "and you'll still use all of that on the worst combination of enchantments possible." they both fall silent, the quiet din of voices around the plane their background noise.
"what were you thinking about?" revali then says quietly, suddenly. link glances at him and is surprised to find the other man staring at him with genuine concern. butterflies come to life in link's stomach, so he averts his eyes, down at his fidgeting hands in his lap. there was no eloquent way to phrase his worries about their date to revali, of all people.
"don't tell me you have flight anxiety now," revali murmurs. it sounds like it was meant to be a joke, but it misses its mark when link doesn't answer, fingers still fidgeting in his lap. "link?"
"i'm not worried about flying or the plane," link mutters. "i've traveled by air before plenty of times, it's not that."
"then what's got you all locked up like this?" revali replies, in the same quiet voice. link still doesn't say anything. "link..."
then, revali reaches for the blond's hand, smoothly intertwining their fingers and bringing it upwards, propping his elbow on the armrest between them. link's eyes widen, blinking, and he slowly moves his gaze from his lap to their intertwined fingers, and then to revali's face. he only stares back, a rather soft look in his eyes, and the butterflies in link's stomach burst to life again.
"you don't have to tell me if it's something personal," revali says, and his tone is so gentle, link thinks he's going to melt in his seat right there. is this the same revali who called him a fool less than a minute ago? "but don't bottle it all up or you'll end up exploding. it'll only make things worse and we wouldn't want that, would we?"
link stares at him with the same wide eyes for a moment longer, and then nods once slowly. "yeah, i guess you're right," he whispers, and after another second, he squeezes revali's hand softly. it seems to make revali's gaze soften even further, and he squeezes back.
"is there anything i can do to help?" revali murmurs. link blinks at him, and suddenly, it feels like the floodgates have opened and he can't stop himself from telling the truth.
"it's the date," link blurts aloud, his cheeks warming and turning pink. shit.
revali's head tilts to the side slightly. "the date?" he repeats. "the one we—?"
"yeah," link whispers. under revali's gaze, filled with such genuine concern, he feels shy again and he looks back down at the other hand in his lap. "it's just... i know we talked about it already, but it just doesn't feel real, like it's all some prank, you know?" he giggles nervously, his left leg beginning to bounce. "knowing you, i wouldn't put it past you to plan one as elaborate at this either, but even if it wasn't a prank, i can barely wrap my mind around that it's actually going to happen."
revali doesn't say anything for a couple moments, and it makes link more nervous, his leg bouncing a little faster, his heart pounding a little harder. please say something, he thinks to himself.
"you know," revali says finally, still in that ever so gentle tone, "we don't have to do the date." and link's heart drops to his stomach. "it was never something i was going to force on you, especially not on that pathetic joke of a show. don't feel like you have to go on a date with me to please your fans if it makes you uncomfortable—"
"no," link says, whipping his head to look at revali with wide, horrified eyes. "th-that's not what i was trying to say, i do want to go on the date with you." admitting it out loud makes link blush and he wants to melt into a puddle in revali's surprised green gaze, but he can't keep shying away. so link steels himself and maintains eye contact with revali, taking a breath before continuing. "i do want to. please trust me on that, i do. i'm just nervous about it because..." link swallows. "i like you, like a lot, and this date is like, confirming that you like me back and actually planning to go on it is insane, because i never thought you'd really return my feelings and what if you back out? because i'm not gonna stop you if you don't wanna go on the date anymore, but i want to go on it so bad 'cause—"
"hey," revali cuts him off, with a strangely soft voice. "breathe for me, darling."
link blinks and then lets go of a long breath he didn't know had accumulated in his lungs. revali nods reassuringly and squeezes his hand again. "one more time," he says in that same soft voice, so link does, breathing in deeply and releasing it slowly. he feels much calmer now.
but then, revali presses his lips to their intertwined fingers, to the back of link's hand. "i want to go on the date with you too," revali murmurs to the skin, and link nearly shivers. "and believe me, i won't be backing out unless you do, because i like you too." he tilts his head slightly to the side. "do you think i'd be so cruel to drag this out if i truly didn't want to go? if anything, i should be worrying about whether or not you want to go through with it since i was the one who planned and proposed it."
"well, sometimes you're too proud to admit you're uncomfortable when it's about being better than me," link mumbles. "i would have been doing us both a favor..."
"i'm not uncomfortable," revali says softly, reassuringly, "but it's good to know that i wouldn't have been the first to back out." he smirks a little, but the fond look in his eyes betrays him.
link's stomach erupts into yet another swarm of butterflies, but he tries to play it off and scoffs. "this isn't a competition, revali."
"perhaps i'll make it into one, if that's what'll get into your stupid little skull that i want to go out with you too." the blond blinks and suddenly, revali's lips are grazing the tip of link's oh-so-sensitive ear. "first to back out of the date loses," he murmurs, the vibrations of his voice tingling into the shell of it.
in an instant, a million thoughts race around inside of link's head, and at the same time, he can feel his face reddening and dripping off of his skull like lava. his mouth drops and his eyes bulge out of his head, but no words come out as revali gently takes the tip of his ear between his teeth, and link all but short circuits—
"boys, i hope you're behaving yourselves back there," comes urbosa's voice. revali immediately pulls away and sits stiffly in his seat, hands in his lap, looking down. link blinks, missing the warmth though his face still burned, eyes still wide staring at revali, whose cheeks were beginning to match link's. "we have a fairly lengthy flight ahead of us, and i would hate to have to deal with you two causing any sort of trouble."
"like what, joining the mile high club?" zelda snickers across the way, only for mipha to gasp in shock, the both of them erupting into giggles.
link rolls his eyes and he catches revali's jaw tense, but the other man doesn't move from his position. letting out a breath through his nose, link sits back in his seat and looks out the window, watching the ground crew scurrying around and preparing the plane for flight. he's glad to have gotten reassurance and confirmation of their relationship now, at the very least.
but then, he feels revali's fingers slip back into his hand, warm and firm against his palm. link looks back, but revali isn't looking at him, his cheeks perhaps a couple shades darker than when he last looked. the blond just smiles and squeezes his hand, looking back out the plane window as the pilot announces readying for departure in the speakers above. revali squeezes back, and their hands stay intertwined for the rest of the flight.
TEHE THEY'RE IDIOTS IN LOVE. the ground crew are the koroks btw they flew on Great Deku Airlines 🙏 zel n miph definitely take pics of revalink holding hands and also when they fall asleep, link's head on revali's shoulder and revali's head leaning on link's... when urbosa wakes them up during landing, link only groans and tries to curl up closer to revali's side, mumbling about having another five minutes and urbosa is recording the whole thing for the champions vlog later 😹 when they get off the plane, revali is grumpy and glaring down anyone who tries to talk to him, but he adjusts himself when link leans on him sleepily, clinging to his arm 🥺 even in the rental car, link's head falls on revali's shoulder again as he snoozes and revali just stares down the rest of the champions, daring them to say anything as his own cheeks color pink 😄
by the time they get to their airbnb, link has regained some consciousness, but he keeps his head on revali's shoulder blinking sleepily until revali gently taps at his thigh to tell him to get up. there are four rooms in the airbnb, so roomies get assigned as (daruk & sidon), (impa & urbosa), (mipha & zelda), and of course, (revali & link). everyone rolls their eyes when revali and link blush at getting assigned to each other, glancing shyly at each other before looking away 😄
after that, the group begins to explore the airbnb. "this is a very nice place," mipha says politely, running her hand along the wall decor. "however, i didn't expect so much winter-themed decor in midst of summer."
zelda shrugs, following after mipha. "this place is owned by a man named pondo, who appears to have an affinity for the season." they come across a pair of bowling shoes mounted on the wall, surprisingly shiny and clean. "among... other things."
revali rolls his eyes as he follows urbosa down the similarly wintry-themed hallway to the room him and link have been assigned (where did link even go?), rolling both of their luggages along. why is revali taking link's luggage with him, you may ask? it's not like anyone asked him to take link's stuff with him either 😹
urbosa stops before one of the doors nearer to the end of the hall, leaning against its threshold and cocking her head at it. "this one's yours," she says, somewhat amused. "behave yourselves. you might be sharing a room, but we're sharing a whole house."
revali's face flushes and burns like a forest fire. "we're not going to do anything like that," he mutters, unable to meet urbosa's gaze. "we're not even official yet."
"but you're officially holding hands in public," urbosa lilts, pushing herself off of the threshold. "so that's official enough."
he makes a face at her. "i bet you're not even going to tell mipha and zelda the same thing, will you?"
urbosa sighs. "i have to keep a closer eye on both of them, actually. those two are complete menaces now that they're official." she pats at revali's shoulder. "i'll leave you to unpack."
and so revali enters the room, beginning to unpack some of his things and leaving link's stuff by the foot of the bed. when he finishes up, he flops onto the bed, staring at the ceiling of their shared room.
their shared room... revali blinks and sits up as it truly settles in that he and link are going to share a room for the week they're here. oh gods. they're sharing a room for a week, and sharing this one bed in the room. well, revali could always offer to sleep on the couch or make link do it, but he thinks about the warmth of link's hand entwined with his, link's soft sleepy expression gazing back at him, link's unruly blond hair spilling like silk all over his skin and the pillow he's laying upon— revali shakes himself out of his reverie, desperately willing himself not to blush. he shouldn't think such things when they haven't even put a label on their relationship yet—
suddenly, the doorknob turns and clicks open, and in steps link, dripping wet and dressed in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist. his modesty (is it modest if you're already wet and half-naked?) is protected with only a gentle one-handed grip to hold the towel together and with his free hand, link pushes his wet bangs up and over his head. oh goddesses. it's like everything is happening in slow motion. revali's lips part, his eyes widening, and he can't look away. he should, because that would be the logical, gentlemanly thing to do, but alas... the droplets of water sliding down the ridges of link's abs are rather... enthralling...
"um," link starts, "hi. i, um, forgot to bring clothes with me to the shower."
"the shower," revali repeats dumbly, and it takes his entire will to force his eyes upward to link's face instead of his very grabbable slim waist, or the v-line slipping under the towel. link's cheeks are tinged pink and his eyes are averted as he scratches at the back of his neck.
goddess, he's adorable, revali thinks immediately before catching himself. he can't say things like this when link is practically naked!
"yeah, i needed to refresh after the flight," link says, biting his lip.
"to refresh," revali repeats, blinking. it feels like his brain is melting and reforming and melting again into a searing hunk of unintelligible meat. he can't form a single coherent, logical thought right now, completely transfixed by the enticing droplets of water sliding down link's pretty throat. refresh... oh goddess, revali needs to get out of here right now. "right, okay, shit, sorry, i'll just—"
revali makes it out of their shared room and into the backyard of the house in record time. urbosa and impa are going over plans at the breakfast nook as he zooms by, beelining for the sliding glass door that leads to the back of the house, but not before urbosa can call out, "i told you to behave!"
revali could behave, alright. but it seemed like revali jr. was going to need a little more restraint.
KFDHUSKDJFHKSDJHFFKH WELL ANYWAYS. idiots to lovers is my favorite trope for these two, like they are the ultimate little freaks ever <3
after link gets his clothes on and revali jr. calms down, the champions have a shitty little dinner composed of various fast food places that were nearby 😹 idk the last time i stayed at an airbnb, i went to get mcdonalds with my cousin in the middle of the night and now it's like a core memory, so i'm passing it onto the champs. i do love me some fries and chicken nuggets though 🤍 impa is outside taking a call at the time, but i'm thinking ab daruk n urbosa with double double burgers and animal fries from in n out..... sidon n mipha with five (5) filet-o-fish sandwiches each 😭 zelda dipping fries into her sundae :] link absolutely would have gotten something from dennys, he's chaos incarnate returning to his homeland (dennys), and revali kind of gives me the vibes that he doesn't fw fast food at all LOL, so he just gets whatever link gets to make it easier on himself, but grumbles and blushes a little when urbosa smiles knowingly at him. hehe >:]
after dinner, they all slowly file off into their rooms to wash up and get ready for bed. there's two bathrooms with showers between the four bedrooms, so they divide the two between the guys and girls. revali takes his shower after sidon, and takes a much quicker one than he's happy with. he totally seems like the type of guy that has an intricate hair care ritual/routine and would hog the bathroom for more than an hour, but link still has to take his actual shower and y'all already know down baddd revali is for him 🤣
revali comes back to their shared bedroom, his hair wrapped up in a towel, dressed in pajama pants and a large plain shirt. link is flopped on the floor of the room as he scrolls through what revali assumes to be tiktok.
"shower's yours," revali says, walking around link and sitting on his side of the bed. he takes off the wrap and bends over to towel dry his hair. "why are you on the floor?"
"my clothes are dirty so i don't wanna get in the bed with them," link says, sitting up and staring at revali. "and i'm sharing with you. i would have thought you would complain if i was in bed with my dirty clothes."
revali fights the heat crawling up his neck and swallows. goddess, they're actually going to share the damn bed. "do whatever you want," he manages in a mumble, sitting back up and throwing his hair back, grabbing the brush he left on the nightstand. "that's... very considerate of you, though."
link hums, before jumping to his feet and taking his stuff with him to the bathroom. when the door shuts with a click, revali glances back at it before letting out a sigh. can he really make it through the night sharing the bed with this heavenly creature of a man that's become rather fond of in the last few weeks?
revali is finishing up with the last of his braid when link comes back from his shower, thankfully fully clothed this time, dressed similarly with pajama pants and a shirt. but instead of practically breaking down the door, link opens it slowly and peeks inside, meeting revali's eyes and neither of them looking away, for several moments.
"are you going to come in or will you stand there the rest of the night like a ghost?" revali says finally, breaking the stare and tying the end of the braid. the only light on in the room now is the lamp beside revali on the nightstand.
link finally opens the rest of the door and shuffles quietly inside, closing it behind him before sitting at the edge of the bed. when revali looks back up, link is looking down at his lap and fingers fidgeting again, like he was in the plane. it makes revali soften, recalling why link had been anxious then.
"getting cold feet?" he says, as softly as he can. link's head shoots up to look at him, eyes wide with terror like he was on the plane when revali suggested that they didn't have to go forward with the date.
"no," the blond answers immediately, but revali can see the way his lip trembles when he says it.
"i can sleep on the couch—" he begins to offer, but link quickly shakes his head and crawls onto the bed to properly sit on it.
"no, i want to—" he starts before cutting himself off. link's cheeks pinken. "i want to... i want to share the bed... with you..."
"you don't sound very confident," revali tries to joke, but his tone is still so unbearably gentle.
link shakes his head again, and this time when he looks at revali, his face is set in an adamant expression, his brows furrowed. "i do want to share the bed with you," he says. "i can. i swear. please trust me."
for some reason, it makes revali's heart skip a beat, but he just snorts and shakes his head before settling into the bed, turning the lamp on the nightstand off. "sure," he says, tugging the blanket underneath link up. "and if i wake up in the morning with you on the floor or on the couch, i'll definitely still believe you."
link wrinkles his nose at revali (cute, he thinks), and then follows after him under the blanket on his side of bed. revali sighs as he relaxes, lying on his back as he stares at the ceiling. link shuffles beside him onto his side, and revali can practically feel those wide blue eyes staring holes into the side of his face.
"want to take a picture?" revali mumbles, already feeling drowsy. the travel fatigue was starting to get to him. "it might last longer."
"sorry," link whispers. "you're just so... beautiful."
revali almost has the energy to blush. almost. "thanks," he says instead. he shuts his eyes, and listens to the sound of link's breathing beside him. they're both quiet for a while, until revali continues in a much quieter voice, "you are too." he swears he can hear link's breath catch as he lets sleep claim him.
and it's the best sleep he's ever had in his life. usually, revali wakes up at the crack of dawn, when the light is barely creeping over the horizon, no matter what time he slept. but when he wakes in the morning, the sun is already fully above the horizon and shining through the curtains. link is curled into his side, head on revali's shoulder and an arm thrown over his stomach, revali's own arms cradling link's body, keeping him close. the blond snores lightly, but sleeps like a rock atop revali. dimly, he realizes their legs are tangled together under the blanket, but he's warm and he's comfortable. revali closes his eyes; maybe staying in bed a little while longer like this wouldn't be so bad...
but that thought is cut short with urbosa knocking on the door to their room. "wake up, lovebirds, breakfast is ready!" she calls. "make sure you look decent before you get out here."
even closed, revali rolls his eyes and lets out a soft groan. link mumbles and shifts under his arms, trying to snuggle closer to revali, who dares not move an inch as the blond makes himself comfortable once more. only when link settles, still curled around him, does revali speak again, opening his eyes.
"i'm surprised you're not jumping out of bed for food," he says softly. "i'd have thought of you as a ravenous beast with an endless hunger, or perhaps a garbage disposal unit."
link hums at him. "comfy," he murmurs in response. "still sleepy too."
fortunately for revali, he's also still too drowsy for his heart rate to pick up and link hearing it. "a couple more minutes wouldn't hurt then," he replies, letting his eyes fall shut. "breakfast can wait."
they get a max of 7 minutes cuddling together under the blankets before zelda and mipha bust down the door together, saying they're taking too long and the food is going to get cold, and i don't care if you're being cute and gay and snuggly GET UP ALREADY!!! this time, link groans and throws the blanket over their heads, clinging to revali, but he sighs and decides it's time to actually wake up. after all, revali is well-acquainted with link's large diet and he needs to make sure the blond is always eating well, right? 😁😁 link will still be sleepily, grumpily clinging to revali's arm as they make their way to the dining room since he was so comfy in the bed, and only fully wakes up when the smell of food hits his nose 😹
a couple days later, the champs have their panel at twitchcon 👁️ i don't really care enough to write a whole scene about what the champs get asked, because it'll probably just be standard questions like, "what kind of group content do you guys have planned?" or "are you guys going to make a twitchcon vlog?" ("yes") or "zelda please marry me" ("security please get this person out of here") and i just am not feeling creative enough to write all that
HOWEVER. HOWEVER. revalink during the entire panel. ooughh. oughh man. they're sat together towards the center right of the panel table (from audience pov/stage center left), giggling and whispering to each other as questions are asked, chiming in here and there to crack jokes or answer as needed, stealing glances/side-eyes at each other whenever they can. they're so silly :3
at some point, The Question gets asked; "okay this one's for link and revali. have you guys gone on the date that revali planned from the love or host, or has this all been an elaborate ruse to make us all think you were dating?"
the question catches both link and revali off-guard, the both of them blinking dumbly at it. i mean, they were expecting to be asked a question about their relationship, seeing as it was a bit public and anyone could see it from their collab streams & videos, the way they bantered on twitter or in the comments of each other's instagram posts. they weren't subtle about it at all, but of course anything could be an act on the internet.
link's cheeks begin to pinken as he glances at revali, before turning back to the questioner to respond. "well, um, so—" and finally, the sound of link's voice makes revali's brain click back into place.
"have you any decorum?" he cuts the blond off smoothly. "it's not anyone's business how our relationship is going, actually. but if you desperately wish to know, then all you have to know is that it's plenty real and though we haven't gone on the date yet, it's planned and it's happening." revali looks at link, whose head is fully turned to look back at him, utterly flustered, eyes wide and cheeks fully flushed pink. his heart softens; cute.
suddenly, revali gets an idea. as subtle as he can, he reaches under the table and takes link's hand into his, sliding his fingers down the blond's palm before lacing their fingers together. if it's possible, link's eyes get even wider, his face even darker with blush, revali's heart practically melting even more from the look on his face. "link will not be seeing anyone for a while," revali says softly, but making sure the mic catches his voice as he keeps his eyes on link, "and he's very content with our current predicament.
a chorus of "awh"s and cheers rise from the crowd, while the rest of the champions groan or roll their eyes at the display. link gives revali a small smile and squeezes his hand. revali returns the smile with a fond look and squeezes back.
"i hope you guys know they're holding hands under the table right now," comes zelda's voice through the speakers, haughty and prim. the crowd screams and shouts and cheers even louder. "it's very rich of revali to complain about you not having any decorum and then continuing to have no decorum himself in public."
"oh shush, zelda, you're holding hands with mipha under the table too," urbosa replies. zelda shrieks in opposition, mipha bursts out laughing, the crowd gets louder, but link and revali are still staring at each other, still blushing, still holding hands stuck in their own world.
and of course, people were taking videos during the panel. the entire scene from question to zelda's shrieking is recorded and posted and made edits of and retweeted and qrt'd to death, until they're #1 on trending. it's a little embarrassing; this is the most attention revali and link's relationship has ever received, especially outside of their community. but neither of them regret it. next time, maybe they'll even post a picture of them actually holding hands. <3

💘💫🤍🪄 🦋 for the ask thing!
ehehe thank u anon!!!!
💘 Is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write?
honestly kind of all of them? i am chronically dissatisfied with my end products—mostly because i look back at them and see nothing so much as pacing issues, and a propensity to attribute too much emotional intelligence to my pov characters. i'm not going to rewrite them, but if i had a perfect world and limitless time, i'd rework both Sweet Hope and a pearl in my hand. they're both so good, but they could be so much better :')
💫 What is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?
i'm very partial to the comments that involve people quoting the bits that personally victimized them >:3c with a very loud shout-out to the wildly sincere and personal ones—i write because reading has helped me through every hard moment in my life, and hearing that i've given that gift to other people means the fucking world to me
🤍 What's one fic of yours you think people didn't "get"?
i think generally people pick up what i'm laying down, but one thing that irks me a little is a minor trend of people reading Sweet Hope and walking out with the "Maia Drazhar Is An UwU Cinnamon Roll" thing still lodged in their heads. as a person who's been categorized by many abusers/toxic loved ones as A Faultless Ray Of Sunshine, i can say that it's an awful, awful place to be, and unfortunately i take my job as Disillusioner Of Maia Drazhar's Fawn Image very personally whoops, which was kind of a central motivator for me in writing that story? like that's one of the core themes, right? maia's aunt attributes a faultless and innate Goodness™ to maia, and everyone gets Upsetti about that because they all recognize that maia chooses to be good, though he has every reason in the world to be callous and cruel—and that it's the deliberate choice of compassion and consideration that defines him, and not some like. idk built-in Sweetness Coding. he is not good or sweet—he chooses goodness and sweetness, and that distinction is very, very important to me, and to my interpretation of maia, because it allows for the complexity of human (elvish lmao) error. he doesn't always say the right thing, nor should he be expected to by those closest to him. he doesn't always make the correct choice, nor does anyone. so like. idk!! he's not A Cinnamon Roll!!! that is very reductive to me and rubs me very wrong!!!!!!!!
🪄 What is your post-writing/sharing aftercare? How do you take care of yourself or celebrate yourself when you've finished a fic?
if it's a longer fic, there is a great deal of celebratory shouting and probably some excited dancing, followed by a jittery lap around the house before obsessively refreshing the fic page to watch the hits go up lmaooooo. for ficlets, i tend to say "NICE" very loudly, drop it and go do something else with a warm ember of satisfaction in my heart. usually there is a little drink involved in both of these.
🦋 What are you most insecure about when you post a fic?
oh boy uhh, everything kind of!! i worry a lot about my characterizations, bc i definitely have Opinions and i've come this far without getting my ass cancelled but i do worry about dumb stuff like oh no what if people don't like that i refuse to believe goblin emperor elves are all Literally paper-white and perfectly blonde or shit i shouldn't have leaned so hard into selectively mute link. and i do worry too about the self-indulgent Breakdown parts of my writing, eg the whole scene in Sweet Hope of maia breaking down at the opera or the big in pearl in my hand where link wigs the fuck out on sidon. those always feel too loud to me, somehow, like i've allowed myself and my characters too much license or awareness or Clarity or something? i usually refuse to reread those parts of stories tbh. like i'll do a cursory editing pass and then never ever touch those sections again bc i just get so embarrassed ;alkdfjwa;d

Sidon and his s/o makes wishes in The Bank of wishes. And when sidon question his s/o what wishes they made, s/o just blush. Maybe in a scenario form? Thanks
(It’s been a very long time, but I’m finally getting through all the old ones which means I get to complete this little beauty~ It’s always a delight to explore Sidon when he’s not being a lovable ball of sunshine, and expanding on the stories of the world~ Enjoy!~)
Bank Of Wishes
Word Count: 1615
“Prince Sidon, we’ve prepared some dishes for you to sample.”
“Prince Sidon, could you take a look at the seating arrangements?”
“Prince Sidon, shall we go with red or blue?”
The Zora Prince groans as he traverses the halls of the castle, finally getting a break from the commotion downstairs. A few months have come to pass since the fall of Calamity Ganon and the lands were beginning to recover and rekindle their ties with neighboring towns. Trading routes were restored, friendships were ignited, villages were working together to rebuild broken walls, and so much more. Life was flourishing now that the land had been wiped clean of the scourge that had hung over it for so many years.
In this new age of peace and prosperity, it was time for the five major cities to reunite and celebrate while also discussing what was next for Hyrule. The Zora Kingdom had the greatest honor to be the holding place of the first of these meeting parties. A conference of elected representatives from each of these major cities was to conspire upstairs, they would discuss the matter of Vah Ruta and the other Divine Beasts in need of new pilots. Once political matters had been dealt with, a great feast in the was to conspire followed by dancing and true celebrations for this great victory.
This grand party was all that anyone in the Domain could think of, each wanting to show of the greatness of the Zora, dazzling their guests with their spectacular architecture and rich history. Of course Prince Sidon was excited to welcome such important officials, as well as dear friends, to his homeland but the assault of questions and concerns from his people in preparation for the visit had put a damper on his mood. Too many questions, too many things to do. He had barely any time left to dedicate to the most important person in his life: you.
For the past few days, it had been all about planning, planning, planning. Rushing back and forth, only seeing you in quick glimpses in the halls and everytime he would try to stop and say something about anything other than the meeting before he was dragged away again. You said that it was fine, that you were okay sitting back and that you wanted to help in any way that you could. All Sidon really wanted to do was hold you close to get away from all the hustle and bustle and just relax with you. Even though you denied it, he knew you well enough to tell that you missed his company just as much as he missed your’s. Now he finally has a moment to spare and he can’t seem to find you anywhere around the domain.
Figuring that maybe you had gone on a stroll, the prince decided to go for a swim in hopes that maybe he would see you somewhere along the winding path. Following the stream, the Zora feels almost every inch of his body relax in the familiar embrace of the water. A good swim always eased his nerves, but he couldn’t allow himself to get completely lost in the current as he was still on a mission.
Breaching the water at points where it ran right up against the path Sidon tried to look for any sign of you before diving back in. Repeating this process a few more times, he kept searching until he came upon the Inogo Bridge that marked to true exit from the domain. Surely you wouldn’t have walked that far, he must’ve missed you further in the trees.
Sidon let out a grin of frustration, he had combed the entire river yet he was still no closer to finding you. All this time spent searching was time he could’ve held beloved and tell them how much he treasured their presence in his life. The Zora sighs, submerging his body into the water with only the top of his head resting at the top looking out at the bridge wondering if he stayed here long enough his people would forget about him. No doubt if he were to return now he would just be pulled right back into the organized chaos that was plaguing the palace. Perhaps they wouldn’t  even wait for him to return, they might send people to come and retrieve him to sample the food once again. Closing his eyes Sidon tried to relax and enjoy the moment of silence he had been given before it was gone.
    Tink! T-Tink!
Sidon perks up, surveying the rice before him for the source of the noise. His eyes fell upon the small glass bottle that had managed to drift right by and collide with the stone protruding from the water’s surface. With furrowed brows Sidon waded over to the bottle, looking around for the culprit who had decided to discard such a thing into the clean waters when he noticed something. Upon closer inspection the Zora could see that there was a piece of parchment rolled up inside of it. A note in a bottle drifting down Zora river?
Taking the bottle into his grasp he perched himself on top of the rock turning it over carefully. Curiosity urged him to pop off the cork and get to the bottom of this mystery message he had stumbled upon. But his more sensible side tells him to just put it back in the water, it might be something personal that was not meant for his prying eyes. He didn’t know who it was from, where it was going, or what was in it and that made him all the or interested in figuring out.
Normally, he was strongly against invading people’s personal lives but a tiny bottle floating down a river in plain sight wasn’t the best way to maintain privacy. Sidon tried to make himself release the message back to the waves and continue to its intended destination. Curiosity eventually won the battle in his mind and he carefully pulled the cork to free the parchment. Just one peek! If it was anything personal he would put it right back and forget ever seeing it.
Sidon set the bottle carefully on the rock’s surface, placing the cork right beside it. Slowly, he begins unspooling the parchment just enough to see the first line.
“Dear Water Fairy,”
Well he wasn’t expecting that. The Water Fairy was a folktale that his people had attached to the bank just a little ways up stream. If you wrote down your deepest desires on a letter and sent it down the river it might make its way to the Water fairy. She would read the letter and if she felt it was full of love then she would make it come true. Typically young hatchlings were the ones who believed in the Water Fairy, but even adults would visit with their hearts in bottles hoping to have their prayers answered.
Now here Sidon was poking about for his own pleasure, like he is reading a book he plucked straight from the shelves of the library. The penmanship certainly did not befit that of a hatchling, in fact, it looked rather familiar to him though he couldn’t place why. Intrigued he continued on, unveiling more of the letter.
“I don’t think you know me, I’m not really from around here so I’m not sure if you’ll even see this. But there’s no rule that says it has to be the wish of a Zora, so if you don’t mind sparing a moment to read this here’s my wish. There’s someone that I love. He’s the strongest, kindest, sweetest person that I’ve ever met. His touch is like the gentlest rain kissing my skin, his eyes are pools of joy and wonder, and his smile is brighter than the sun itself assuring the earth that it will always shine again when it leaves. He’s amazing, I know he could take on the entire world if he wanted to but right now he’s struggling.”
“I only see him in passing nowadays and though he is smiling the beams of light have dimmed under the shadow of his obligation to his people. He was excited more than anyone to be able to show Hyrule the capability of the Zora and even more so himself. This was a chance for him to prove that “Prince” was not just a title given to him at birth. He had earned it and he wanted to wear it proudly to all, but the preparations for this have taken their toll. I don’t have much to my name but I’d give it all if it meant I could drive the clouds away and let the sun shine again.”
“I’ve tried helping everyone set up, cleaning and delivering things from place to place, but it doesn’t feel like enough. So please if you can find it in your great being, grant this poor soul their wish: Help me, help my partner be at ease again. Help me, help Sidon.”
    “From my heart and soul…”
A drop splattered the parchment paper smudging your name, but it was unmistakably your’s. Sidon turned away rubbing at his eye with one hand while the other tried not to crumble this work of art. Guilt, sorrow, and an overwhelming feeling of joy that made his heart flutter flooded the Zora.
This whole time while he was worrying about not having a single moment to spare, exhausted beyond compare, you were there supporting him every step of the way. You were only worried about his well-being during this trying time, you knew he could do it.
    You believed in him.

I'm back with more ideas again! As always, your writing is wonderful 💙
Can I get a gn reader with Sidon where he comes across reader's sketchbook, and it's full of him and scenes of the Zora's Domain? Maybe reader is a really good artist, but it's always been a hobby they didn't show people as they feel they're not that good or something. Tia!
"Y/N? Are you there?"
The door to your room pushes open with a slight creak as Sidon inches his way inside. He hasn't come to snoop. He is craving your company, but he is disappointed to find you're not in. He gives a soft sigh and turns to leave, but hears the voices of other Zora outside.
"Did you see the way he smiled at me the other day? Oh -- do you think, maybe --"
"Not a chance! If Sidon is interested in anyone, he wouldn't be so obvious about it. I'm sure he was just being friendly."
He doesn't even recognize who the voices belong to. He slowly backs away from the door and seeks solace in your chair. It seems best to wait until whoever it is, is well past. Sidon cannot afford to be as introverted as he truly is in public. In these instances, hiding does not seem a sin.
He sees the leather-bound book on your desk and reaches for it instinctively, but he hesitates once his fingers close around the spine. What if it's a diary?
He decides to err on the side of caution and opens it up just to the cover page, which reads: Y/N's ART BOOK.
The conversation is growing fainter outside. "--he'll have to settle down with someone eventually. Why not one of us?"
The prince tunes out the reply entirely as he flips to the first page, a sketch of a waterfall. On the second page is another, but this one more clearly belongs to the Domain, as he can tell from the shrubbery and detail surrounding it. The next page features a half-drawn Lynel, the front of its body with no facial details. Fascinated, Sidon continues to flip through, impressed by how the detail becomes more specific and skillful as the pages go on. About midway through, he lands on a sketch of . . . himself.
It looks as though it could have been done by one of the professional portrait makers in Hyrule, the sort his father would hire. It has no color yet, but the detail is stunning. Sidon feels as though he is looking into a mirror. In the sketch, he is sitting in the chair in his own chambers, looking contemplative. He traces the whistle around his neck with his fingers on the page, then reaches up for the one he is wearing. He's always worn it since he was just a boy. It was a gift from his sister, though he rarely tells anyone the backstory. Still, it is almost like you knew, from the care with which you've drawn it.
On the next page, he finds another sketch you have done of him, this time smiling. It causes him to smile down at the page. The next pages feature more scenery from the Domain, but now it's not quite as interesting. He finds himself craving more -- more of how you see him. He is possessed by a feverish need to know.
He gives a soft gasp, then a chuckle, as he finds what he's looking for about three-quarters of the way through the book. He is lying stretched on his sofa, propped up on one arm, a come-hither expression on his face. His biceps and abs, as you have drawn them, add to the effect. You've drawn the furniture by a roaring fire, steam rising from a tub in the background with candles on its ledge. He finds himself both intrigued and pleased by how your imagination has carried and manifested this image.
He wants more. He is greedy now. But the last quarter of the book is blank. He flips back to the last page and lingers over it until his guilt kicks in. He is encroaching on your space and your most private thoughts, and now he feels ashamed. He closes the book abruptly and places it back on the desk as he found it.
There is silence in the hallway outside. Sidon rises from your chair and tucks it back into the desk, then exits the room and closes the door behind him. He didn't get exactly what he wished for by coming for a visit. While his feelings of satisfaction and pleasure are overshadowed by his guilt at the intrusion, he is left with a dilemma of what to do with his knowledge. He feels he owes you an apology, but at the same time, encouragement. One so talented deserves to be seen . . .
