He was actually the first one I wanted to draw from the cleanup crew, just because of his fluffy hair, but... honestly, I forgot about him. I'm a terrible person, I know (╥﹏╥)

Enjoy this spooky Na'vi audio story I wrote for a Halloween-themed listening practice session on Kelutral! Transcription below the cut for those who want to read along. I'll also be adding the English translation in a reblog (adding that separately so that those who want to practice—I know there's at least a few of you out there hrh—can read along with the written Na'vi without accidentally "cheating" by looking at the English 😉)

My last DnD hot take for now is that: I don't think "Problem Players" exist, and if they do, it's always a DM issue. I think they are a TTRPG boogeyman that has been blown out of proportion by reddit fake stories.
For context, I've been playing this hobby for 8 years now in friend groups, discord, and board game associations. More than half of those as a DM. I haven't once seen a "My dark ninja tabaxi unsheats his katana +4 of soul reaping" or other blatantly cheating characters at lvl 1, but I HAVE seen new players going "haha, yeah my ranger was raised by wolves" and older, more "veteran players" going pfft and overall being dismissive and very gate-keepy to what they thought was a silly concept art, to that player's face.
I'm a firm believer in "meet your players where they're at", and if someone created an edgy backstory being raised by wolves and all that? Hell yeah! You wrote something for me; that's more than half of the regular players have done. If the backstory doesn't fit the theme at all, then is up to both of you to work it into something that fits the genre of the story (do a goddamn session 0), but as Brennan said on AA, it's all about redirecting energy. Don't squash a new player's excitement because you think, in all of your experience and glory in TTRPGs, that they have a "boring" concept.
Now, what do I mean of "they're a DMing issue"? Have I met only perfect people and players whom I've never had problems with? no. While most of the people I've met on the hobby are wonderful, I've had my fair share of players that go from un-cooperative and PvP heavy, to several flavors of -phobic and straight up trying to play particular kinks in-game.
It's a DM issue because NOTHING stops you from going "Hey. Stop" when a scene gets out of hand. Stop Yes, and-ing someone who's making everyone uncomfortable. If someone is being a Problem Player at your table, you have two options:
Talk to them as adults and understand where the issue is. Are they new and thought this was a competitive game? do they feel insecure and are using humor too much and de-railing the game? Whatever the case, treat them with respect and genuinely try to put yourself in their place and understand where they're from. Remove the Problem and keep the Player.
2. If they're just an asshole, bigot, or a bad fit in general at your group, they can keep being a Problem but definitely not a Player.

for future erotic physio reference i want to submit a thing my physio does where she fiddles around with my intrinsics (all the stuff in my feet, as far as i understand it).
points in its favour: painful as hell. absolutely makes you act funny (i am not someone who is vocal about pain and i can't actually act stoic about this. by noise count it's been as back as an almost-unmedicated lumbar puncture <- i may have a high tolerance for lidocaine?). also the position means the physio is pushing your (bent) leg back until it meets your shoulder practically. idk if non-hypermobile people get the shoulder contact.
it's basically just a pain so deep and sharp it crosses over into something that isn't pleasure but it has its own special kind of release.
oughhh... interesting... i think ive mused about marci and if hes into pain/what his tolerance to it is before... but one thing i can say for sure is that he doesnt react much or make noises when he doesnt need to. hes decent at controlling his bodys responses so if it was anyone else he could probably sit through a session like this quietly but with people like iliya... well

I was re-reading chapter one of MOE today cause I was looking for a line I wanted to parallel, (mmmm parallel structure and repetitive themes, yummy) and it kind of sucks? I've been writing consistantly everyday for two and a half months becuase of MOE. I didn't expect it to improve my work that much.
I was physically cringing at the dashes. Sauce, you sweet summer child that didn't understand Em dash vs. En dash vs hyphen. Don't worry guys, I take grammar classes for fanfiction purposes only.
Either way, I'm going to leave it for now. I kind of like watching the structure and flow improve every chapter. Maybe one day I'll go back and edit it. Until then its a time capsule of grammar abominations and hyper extended sentence fragments. :)
Those are my thoughts today.
oh, I also added "Joel is a shin kicker" to the notes app right after I woke up.

On today's episode of 'Sae counters fanon', whether popular fanon, or minor takes. Not for purposes of 'We read, and we salt', but simply as a reminder of what to let go of if you want to approach my portrayal of Kafka.
Fanon: She's into coats, she looks great, ergo she's into fashion, ergo she's a fashionista, and so she'd be reading mindless fashion magazines, and other 'useless things'. Me: She's actively incredibly knowledgeable on the Aeons, she has great interest in the machinations of the human mind, the workings of psychology and how it plays into choice and whether fate is preordained or not, she has interests in films and books (remember: 'I also enjoy the feeling of reading about and watching others' lives' when telling her you like biographical films), classical instruments, she also wields a very ancient and significant sort of blade. Kafka also actively seems to grow bored, which tells me she needs stimuli, which seems to include intellectualism. Not only that, but it seems that: 'She must have sought something extraordinary. Everything she does comes at a great cost' in one way or another. so no, I don't see her as simply being into nonsensical that have no purpose or goal. Me: Oh and on the note of fashion— yes, most certainly. But can you then also talk about or tell me why her fashion seems unlike anyone else's so far? Can you talk about how intensely conservative it is versus anyone else in a Hoyo game? Can we talk about that, hmm?
So if you come across her waiting for you at a table, you'll see a book in her hands that will inevitably be put face-down. Philosophical works, biographies, written historical events/accounts? Take your pick.

gym bros love pretending that lifting form is like this insanely technical art form that takes years to master and it’s like. i mean you get better at it over the course of years that’s true but no lift worth doing has that crazy of a movement pattern. in fact most of them feel very natural and mirror things you already do in real life. it just feels like annoying ass gatekeeping trying to intimidate beginners and it’s so dumb dude

The hard thing about writing therapy sessions into fics is that like. The story is predicated on drama, and even in therapy characters are still people that may or may not be able to communicate, and then there's the fact that even when you're successful in therapy you still have to deal with relationships and life outside of that where your coping is actually put to the test
Like it's weird because "characters dialoguing in therapy speak" is a current day hated trope, but in this case the characters going to therapy (sometimes even with each other) is LITERALLY part of the plot. But then you don't want the therapy to just instantly solve every interpersonal conflict so the characters still need to beef over something. Which, fine, lots of people go to therapy and don't cooperate during the session, are unwilling to apply the advice IRL, other things happen due to the flawed nature of existence, etc.
What I'm trying to say is that at least in stories/worlds with no therapy, ppl being severely malfunctional and getting in deep shit makes sense bc there's no education or support or help for them to make the optimal choices. But in stories with therapy, you want the therapy to be an in-universe part of the world that characters react to as real people react in therapy. But you don't want the therapy to turn into a meta device that you as an author use to magic away a character's emotional/interpersonal problems effortlessly with disregard to how long/difficult therapy is.
I feel like this might be a genre issue, idk? There's just so few stories that involve therapy (many of which are biographical in nature and not fiction/narrative focused), maybe due to how mental health is only a recently destigmatized/educated topic. So this feels like a writing problem exclusive to some sort of contemporary, "just like the real world" genre of writing that I'm unfamiliar with and maybe the answer is just "yeah you have to write it as a fictional story but also like it's real life." Idk.

The door to his office slams open. If Nakamura is out of breath in any shape or form, most have (tactfully) chosen not to comment on it. Aside from one other, there is only one person she would run all the way from the forensics lab towards, empty-handed as well.
"You're back." Is it statement? Or is it disbelief? She knew he'd been gone for quite some time, a high security business trip of sorts that would help to change the tide of the game, but well, it's one thing to know someone will be gone for a while. It's another to feel their absence, the spaces left behind, their lingering presence.
(She won't admit it, but for a long moment, she might have been afraid that he would never come back. His decision, one that at the end of the day, she wouldn't stop him from making if that was what would've made him happy.)
Tumblr media
But he's here again in the flesh and here she is, breathless and staring at him. Two steps in before she tackles him in a hug, before she steps back again, composed and dignified. Business as usual.
"Welcome back, sir. Just dropping by to let you know there's some paperwork for you complete."
( DRIP WELCOME BACK :DDDD suki has....something to say to miles :) )
As soon as he sees her face, he knows he's an idiot.
He's done this before, to two people he loved. Both had mercifully refrained from striking him, though Franziska came close. The look on Suki Nakamura's face does not precede a strike, but he does sort of feel like he's swung and missed.
What an awful cad, to keep a trusted partner in the dark. What a thoughtless man, to treat his iron-clad bonds as if they were fraying strings. After all this time, he still figured his stabs at emotional connection best left forgotten...!
He's standing, face a little gaunt, barest hint of stubble on his face, perhaps thinner than usual, when she bursts in like a gale. his mind has only a second to whirl before she wraps him up in her arms, knocking him a few breathless steps back, and then it whirls some more, and then it's done. Too soon!
Tumblr media
His cheeks flush as though he's taken a greedy gulp of merlot. He realizes his mouth is hanging open and he closes it before nodding a bit more dumbly than he'd intended. "Thank--" He clears his dry throat clumsily "Duly noted, Nakamura. I'll be--..."
Edgeworth looks frantically out the open door. There's no one in the hall. He sucks in a breath and takes the same two steps directly into her, bundling her up like someone had tossed something precious and invaluable to him, leaving him no choice but to clutch it with fierce tenderness. His cheek presses against her scar. They collide with a thump against the wall.
...And then he separates from her, holding her at arm's length by her shoulders for a moment, before letting go and bowing slightly.
Tumblr media
"I'm...deeply sorry that it took me this long to get to these important documents."
