Sirius cocks his head and quirks an eyebrow and sinks into tufted leather. ​"Now why… would you want to do that?​"

Harry deflates. ​"You could just say no.​"

​"I didn’t say no. I asked why.​”

He swipes the bottle back from Harry and takes a swig himself. Harry watches the mischief zip through his body, over flexing muscles and fading runes, leaving trails everywhere in its wake. A starlight twinkle in silver eyes. A twitch at the corner of his mouth. A peek of tongue between liquor-warmed lips.

Because I’m madly in love with you, Harry manages not to say.

Because I’m completely obsessed with you. About a dozen times worse.

Because if I don’t, I’ll die.

Harry swallows the nerves, the dramatics, the damning symptoms of his age, and says: "When you look at me, I feel like you’re seeing parts of me I didn’t know existed.​"

Silver dims to black. Mischief yields to lust. Even Harry, awkward, clueless, never-been-kissed Harry, can spot the signs of arousal.

Sirius brushes the broad back of his hand over Harry’s fevered cheek. A thumb detours to his lower lip. Silver-black eyes follow its path.

“​​Everything you let me see is a privilege, darling."

Harry might die, regardless.

"I feel I must do my godfatherly duty and impress upon you what a thoroughly wretched idea this is.​"

Harry closes his eyes and tries not to come on the spot. “Noted.”

I usually headcanon Harry pining for Sirius and confessing first (not always meaning to—either he blurts it out without being able to stop himself or he's drunk and it just happens). I think that logical—we've seen Harry having a crush on Sirius in the books and how it all developed.

What if, while Sirius stays alive, he's the first one to confess? And not in a "he's fifteen and he's my godson and I can't stop thinking about it and how it reminds me of my youth and James" way (which is still valid if you're into that, just not the vibe I'm going for here). Harry is a grown adult, fully mentally developed, 20+, and Sirius decides to try his chances because he is getting way too old for this foolishness—being in love and not knowing whether he's wasting his time and it's not reciprocated or if there's an actual chance to start something real there.

What if it goes something like, "Forgive me, but I just have to know. Just say one word and I will never speak about that again and you can pretend like this never happened, but I've seen how you look at me and..."

It can go literally anywhere from there. Happily ever after. Harry thinks he doesn't want to complicate things, but the more he considers the possibility, the more he's into that. Friends with benefits with one sided pining. Angst because Sirius IS no more than a friend to Harry and be doesn't want to start anything there. Of course, Sirius' heart will get broken, and his feelings won't go away, but at least he'd know.

I actually have 2.

1. Where Sirius returns from the veil right after the war ends and helps Harry heal from the war. Once Harry's all feeling better, he continues living with Sirius and likes that Sirius loves to spoil him. His friends (at university) joke with him about Sirius being his sugar daddy and Harry likes the idea so he tries to entice Sirius into it.

2. Another post war, Harry gets involved with anonymous Sugar Daddy wishing it was Sirius only to discover it actually is (choas ensues).
