I've been looking into Slavic pagan practices and have been feeling really drawn to Yarylo (Jarylo, Yarilo, Iarylo). I've felt a pull towards Slavic practices for a long time, like a nagging feeling that there's something there for me. As I was reading up and I came across Yarylo, it was like a feeling of satisfaction washed over me, as though I had found what I was looking for. The more I learned about him, the more fascinated I became and I've been considering including him in my practice.
Yarylo is the Slavic god of spring, rebirth, fertility, agriculture, and war. He is reborn every spring season and dies with every harvest, constantly repeating his life cycle and sacrificing himself to bring us harvest. He's a very domestic deity, nourishing the home and defending it; which is where his being a war deity comes in.
I think he's been calling to me for a while, though I've only recently put the pieces together.
I'm still Christopagan. My roots are still in Hellenic paganism. Apollo is still the absolute love of my life. My practice is constantly growing and this seems to be a path the gods want me to explore. It wouldn't have come to me if they did not want it to.
If there are any Slavic pagans with advice, I'd really appreciate it.

welcome to my craft!
hello! i’m grusha, i go by they/she/he pronouns and i am a witch on the path of slavic paganism. i am 19 and studying to become a cultural anthropologist with a specialty in slavic studies. i want to use this blog to clear the misinformation surrounding slavic paganism and provide reliable sources on the mythology and pantheon. i follow from @lesbianhuoqing.

q&a
who are the deities you work with?
i work primarily with Morana, the slavic goddess of winter, death, and agriculture. as for any other deities, i also worship Devana, west slavic goddess of the Moon and Dodola, slavic goddess of rain.
do you support rodnovery/slavic native faith?
no, and i have a detailed post in progress that will be linked here on why.
is slavic paganism a welcome place for white supremacists?
i would like to make it very clear that this practice has no room for hate, which is a primary reason i do not support rodnovery. a detailed post about the association between white supremacy and slavic pagans will be made and linked here.
how do you conduct your personal practice?
i am an eclectic witch! i like to combine different forms of practice, such as green, kitchen, divination, and traditional worship to make my own form of magick.
are you wiccan/wiccan adjacent?
no, i don’t personally like wiccan practice and i ask that if you are wiccan to please not interact. this is a safe space for baneful and love magick users.
is slavic paganism a closed practice?
no, i firmly believe that anyone may practice slavic paganism.
other info
this blog is majority minor-friendly, if any post has nsft topics it will be marked as such. i ask that you do not follow if you are an ed or sh account, someone who judges others practices (this does not include people who believe that you should not practice from a closed practice that you are not invited to practice from), lgbtq+phobic, racist or xenophobic, or wiccan as my content is not made for you. please keep in mind that this is not a fandom blog. i will do personal readings at some point, but at this point in time i will do stack reading posts.

Prayer to Perun, the Slavic god of Thunder, storms, war and justice
Written by jezzzebel
Perun, the great punisher of injustice, the one who protected us for centuries, our Zaštitnik, our Gromovnik. Please help me, your loyal follower, when i need it. As you have protected my ancestors in battles against their enemies, protect me from all evil, Perun of the Oak. Punish those who break oaths with me, for you have always been fond of justice and keeping promises. Gromovnik, King of the gods, thank you for being there for me.
Glory to Perun!

Hi! Just a small reminder to the hellenic polytheism community on Tumblr!
Not every polytheist is hellenic! And your rules don't apply to other polytheists! It seems like a lot of people on here just assume everyone who uses #pagan is a hellenic polytheist. And try to enforce their beliefs with a "this is right, and this is wrong" attitude, without realizing... That it's actually not wrong for me.
/gen /lh
I have also been told how to and how to not run the temple, based on the principles of Hellenic polytheism.... Please don't do that hahaha.

How I've put together my grimoire...
I'm honestly so proud of my grimoire and I wanted to share a bit of how I've organized it! I'm still always adding more to it, but here's a quick post on its structure and usage.
1. Table of contents.
I've structured my grimoire to have two tables of contents. Contents A contains all the info, while Contents B contains my own crafted spells, and some borrowed from other sources.
For info in Contents A:
▪︎crystal correspondences and care
▪︎tarot/oracle/card spreads & readings
▪︎deity info
▪︎herb & plant correspondences
▪︎Sabbats & wheel of the year
▪︎color associations
▪︎new & full moon activities
》 Contents A is on a separate page from Contents B.
》 Contents A is within the first half of the notebook, while Contents B is in the last half.
Here's a couple examples:
1A. Color correspondences.
27A. Bastet info
1B. Restful Nights Sleep Sachet
2. References for more detailed info.
In the last page of my grimoire, I've written a little disclaimer for referring to my detailed "metaphysical-stuff" journal. In this separate journal, I have detailed information I've collected. Some of the info includes Shintoism, Slavic Paganism, and Kemeticism. This separate journal contains several pages worth of information and notes which I couldn't easily fit into my main grimoire.
In the separate, more detailed journal, I've also included a table of contents, though it's less involved than my grimoire's.
3. Index.
It hasn't been created yet, but I plan to include an index in my grimoire. I want this to contain keywords and where to find them within the book.
I hope this inspires you to create your own grimoire! You can do so much with it, and I've only scratched the surface with how I've structured mine.
Bright blessings!
