In a less kind world, Bradley's papers are never pulled - because Ice retires, and he and Slider fly commerical.

In a less kind world, there is no Maverick to save them from dying on a suicide mission over Russian airspace.

Now, I absolutely love the idea of Mav being heavy because it makes sense since he's a soldier

But fuck it because here he's not human and to reach high speeds he needs to be light (kinda like bird bones are somehow hollow), and he's smol, so everyone picks him up

I have many regrets making Mav a peregrine falcon –all of them being the marks of the wings– but Slider is a bearded vulture and I love him

It's 3am, I'm still doing the thing, I just have ADHD and many dogs (Also they ate my drawing tablet pen and I can't do anything about it (McSobbing) so I'm stuck doing trad stuff

WIP #1 - DONE

This is a series where I post about the plots of my on-going fics, so I would be motivated to finish writing them.

Pairing: Tom "Iceman" Kazansky x Ron "Slider" Kerner x Pete "Maverick" Mitchell

Summary

After almost a month in his 6 month long deployment in Hawaii, Ice receives a mail.

A manila envelope is handed to him. It was addressed to him from a 'Lt. Ronald Kerner' and a date that says that it was sent just four days after his deployment.

On his way to his cabin, he takes a peak inside. And ever so slightly, an image from a polaroid flickered across his sight. He halted on his tracks and it almost made him stumble.

It was Maverick, but not just any regular photo of Maverick.

It was Mav, in what seems like Ice's old Annapolis shirt. The photo was shot at a high angle because Mav was looking up at the person taking the photo.  But what took Ice's breath away was what Mav was doing in the photo.

Maverick, was hazily staring at the camera, tongue slightly out, his lips wrapped around two finger that should be Ron's, suckling at it like his life depended on it. His eyes were glistening with tears and hair disheveled.

I just heard someone say they've fucked on a bike. Like an actual motorcycle. And I feel like that's the type of Match My Freak Maverick would be.

I don't know what to do with this thought, however.

Slider Kerner is #1 repeat Maverick offender (calling Mav shortass / pipsqueak / shortstack / vertically challenged / etc.) BUT he is also the quickest to beat some sense into his best friend's thick spiky skull when Maverick just so much as looks sad after having an argument with Ice.
