obsessed
Pedro has been dating you in secret for a while, but can’t hold it in any longer.
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
The joy is radiating off of him in intoxicating waves. It fills the studio, effecting everyone there to watch him.
The host asks in a light hearted way, the question everyone wants to know - is the Pedro Pascal still single?
He runs his hands a little nervously down his black pants, and adjusts the buttons on his shirt, letting out a booming laugh.
“No, no,” he says, still laughing.
“No as in - you’re not single?” the host says, leaning forward eagerly. Pedro’s team had not prepped him for this possible answer. The ratings flash in his eyes.
“That’s right. I’m uh, locked down,” Pedro says, feeling a little silly putting it that way, but the pride in his voice is evident.
The crowd absolutely erupts, loud cheering and screaming, and Pedro waves them off with yet another laugh.
“Tell us about her! Who is she?”
When the studio quiets down, Pedro says, “Well, she’s someone… special. And smart. A writer, novelist, really. Beautiful and kind and too good for me.”
He means every word. Pedro is always sincere, but the admiration he feels for you is so evident in his voice as he speaks.
He loves you. He’s obsessed with you. He can’t hold it in any longer.
When he leaves the stage, he has a text from you.
Well, did you spill everything?
He grins as he replies.
I just told them the truth, that you’re amazing and I love you. I decided to leave out the part about your ass.
Your reply comes quickly.
Plenty of interviews left where you can talk about my ass, no worries. Love you baby, come home.
He can’t wait to do exactly that.

Netflix Suffers
Pairing: Oscar Piastri x Felicity Leong-Piastri (Original Character)
Summary: Netflix suffers through quietly private Oscar for 2 and a half whole seasons of Drive to Survive.

🗂️ FILE: Netflix DTS SEASON 5 - Notes
SUBJECT: Oscar Piastri
AUTHOR: Emily Kingsley (Producer)
New talent, F2&F3 champ, Alpine reserve – strong potential for screen time once on the grid. Quiet but smart. Needs camera time to build profile. Likely to debut in 2023.
Approach for low-key content – i.e., “day in the life” while in reserve role. Ideal filming locations: Enstone, coffee shop, sim work, etc. (NO home shoot yet, build trust first.)

We should absolutely start tracking Oscar Piastri content.
Even if he’s just the reserve driver this year, the hype around him is ridiculous. Also, Alpine won’t stop talking about “the future.” He’s calm on camera, photogenic, and his stats in F2 were insane. I don’t think he has the ‘media darling’ vibe yet, but maybe that’s the charm?
(Also, if he ever opens up, I think we’ll find something really good there.)

Hi Mark,
Hope you’re well — I wanted to reach out regarding some potential filming time with Oscar in the next few weeks. We’re spotlighting the Alpine Academy as part of a talent pipeline feature for Drive to Survive, and Oscar’s obviously central to that.
We’d love to do something a little more personal, maybe in Australia if he’s home during the race weekend? Just informal stuff — walks along the coast, cooking dinner, time with the family.
Would he be open?
Best, Emily

He won’t budge on that.
Cheers, Mark

Piastri’s still cagey. Got him for like 10 seconds in the Alpine motorhome. Media-trained within an inch of his life. Never says more than necessary. No mention of family, background, anything. I swear he arrives and vanishes like a ghost.

Hi Mark,
We’re obviously across the Alpine press release and Oscar’s... shall we say... firm rebuttal. I know it’s a delicate situation (understatement), but from a Drive to Survive perspective, this is GOLD.
Would Oscar be willing to do a sit-down? Nothing invasive, just some general footage — his perspective on the announcement, what he can and can’t say, maybe a voiceover? We could shoot it neutral — no team gear, simple setting, even his flat or somewhere casual?
Fans are already going wild. This is the biggest off-track story since Ricciardo to Renault. We don’t need the dirt — just a moment of “this is what it felt like from my side.”
Timing-wise, we’d want to film this week. Please let me know.

Understand where you’re coming from — and yeah, it’s certainly been a lively 48 hours.
That said: Oscar’s not going to film anything right now. He’s focusing on keeping his head down and letting the CRB process play out. Legal is involved, as I’m sure you can imagine.
Also, he's not keen on filming at home. Ever.
Will keep you posted if anything changes, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Emily:  Okay, so… Oscar very politely said no. Again. Mark also said no. I swear, they are a unified front of chill, lawyered-up silence. Which, okay, fine — but this is the most dramatic moment in F1 driver contract history and we’re filming damn car factories.
Emily:   Also, quote of the week from Mark:“He’s not keen on filming at home. Ever.”  What does he do at home? Stare at walls? Garden in secret? Marinate in contractual ambiguity?
Jason: I don’t think he even has a home. He might just unplug at the back of the simulator when no one’s looking.

No on-location filming allowed outside official team appearances.

Refuses to discuss “loyalty” or “betrayal” — insisted “it’s just contracts.”
Tried to bribe cameraman with coffee to stop filming.
Did not laugh at any of my jokes.
Conclusion: Oscar Piastri is the single most media-resistant driver we’ve ever had.
Future suggestion: If he ever lets us film at home, there’s either been a major personality change… or he’s hiding something.

Team,
We’re heading into Season 6 planning, and in case anyone had delusions of cracking Oscar Piastri this year, here’s a little refresher of how the last few weeks went:
Team McLaren OK’d filming around the garage, factory, even a simulator session.
Oscar OK’d a sit-down interview, as long as the topics were racing, racing, and also racing.
Oscar absolutely, categorically, politely said “no thank you” to anything involving:
His home
His background
His personal life
His off-track activities
Any “day in the life” filming
Every single “soft” question we attempted (ex. “What’s your go-to comfort food?” led to: “Whatever Bees likes—sorry, I mean—whatever I feel like.”)
He nearly had a stroke when someone asked if he had a pet.
We’re still in the dark. I don’t know what’s going on. But I know it’s not nothing.

We keep getting polite refusals, and I just want to make sure we’re not missing a scheduling window or an angle he would be comfortable with.
Appreciate the help. Emily

Hi Emily, You’re not missing anything. He’s just not going to do it.
Oscar’s private life is exactly that—private. Always has been. Always will be. Take it from me: if he hasn’t agreed by now, he’s not going to.
 Cheers, Mark
P.S. Don’t take it personally.

Emily:  HE SAID NO. EVERY TIME.
Emily: AND HE WAS MARRIED THE WHOLE TIME
Emily: MARRIED.
Emily:  WITH A WHOLE ASS WIFE.
Laura: He said "at home. On the bed." That man is accidentally romantic. Is he okay?? Are we okay??
Tom: Compiling top fan tweets now. Lando screaming "YOU HAVE A WIFE?!" is our new episode cold open.
Owen: Also, is it true Nicole Piastri only found out after the wedding? Because that’s... incredible.

Subject: URGENT: PIASTRI MARRIAGE REVEAL - DAMAGE CONTROL & CONTENT PITCH
Team,
Hi. I am going to scream into the sun.
Apparently, Oscar Piastri has been married since he was eighteen. He announced it casually at a live fan stage during a game of "Would You Rather."
I’m attaching the clip. Please note the moment where Lando nearly dies. That is not an exaggeration.
Key Details:
Oscar is married. Legally. Since age 18.
No one on our team knew. No one in the paddock seems to have known.
His wife is still unnamed. No photos. No social media. She’s basically an encrypted file.
Lando screamed “I’M YOUR FRIEND” and the internet is now in full nuclear meltdown.
I AM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND. This is the best story we never got. Five seasons of silence and he was SITTING ON A SECRET WIFE.
We had NO IDEA.
Immediate action items:
Get the footage — we need every angle of this meltdown. Lando spitting out his drink is already trending.
Contact McLaren PR — and offer our eternal sympathy. Also ask if Oscar is open to filming with his wife. (I'm laughing. But also crying. But mostly laughing.)
New season pitch update — working title: "The Mysterious Mrs. Piastri"
Figure out what else he’s hiding — goats? underground bunker? A baby??
I will personally be contacting Oscar. I have already made peace with the fact that he will say "no."

 Hi Emily,
Thanks for reaching out.
To be entirely transparent with you… We didn’t know either.
Zak may have been aware, but the wider team (including PR) was very much in the same position as Lando: confused, betrayed, and on the verge of cardiac arrest.
We don’t have a name, a bio, or a backstory. We don’t even have a wedding date. There is apparently a whole wife who has been around for years. Since Oscar was in high school. We are still... adjusting.
So at this stage, we unfortunately can’t provide any of the materials you're requesting. We also do not currently have any brand involvement or photo access.
As of now, we have no official statement prepared. PR is regrouping. I cried.
Please give us a moment to breathe.
We’ll reach out to Oscar once he’s finished his debrief (and Lando stops yelling), and update you as soon as we can.
Best, Sophie ***

 Hi Oscar,
I hope you’re well and had time to breathe after what was… arguably the most internet-breaking moment of the entire season.
To be direct: First, congratulations. Second, WHAT THE HELL. Third, would you be open to a quick follow-up filming session or even a private sit-down interview to elaborate a little more on today’s revelation? Just… anything, really.
It’s safe to say you’ve just ignited the most unexpected story arc of Drive to Survive Season 7, and we’d love to give it the justice it deserves. We can keep it tasteful. We can blur the wedding photos. We can film in shadows like a crime doc if you want.
Let me know your thoughts — or have your mystery wife get in touch if she wants to.
Warm regards (and mild panic), Emily

Come Stay Awhile
Olderrich!abby x babysitter!reader
Warnings: abby is in her early 30’s, reader in in her late 20’s
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rain had started just as you turned up the long, winding driveway, the heavy drops tapping against your windshield as you squinted through the gathering gray. You’d seen pictures of the house online — it was part of the job offer — but pictures hadn’t done it justice.
It wasn’t just a house. It was a mansion.
Wide, tall, and built in clean modern lines, with sharp stone paths cutting through immaculately trimmed gardens. You swallowed hard and parked by the front steps, nerves chewing at your stomach.
You were just the babysitter. Nothing more.
Right?
The door swung open before you could even knock.
There she was — Abby Anderson herself.
Early 30s, taller than you remembered from the interview, broad shoulders filling the doorway like a wall you wouldn’t mind running into. She wore a loose black sweatshirt and joggers, her hair pulled into a low bun, a pen tucked behind her ear like she’d been signing important papers and forgot about it.
“Hey,” she said simply, voice low and casual, but her eyes were sharp. “You found it.”
You managed a smile, feeling a little like a lost cat she was about to shoo off her porch.
“Yeah. Thanks for…uh, hiring me.”
She stepped aside and gestured you in with a quick flick of her hand. “Come on. You’ll get soaked.”
The entrance smelled like lemon cleaner and new wood. Everything gleamed: dark floors, wide staircases, tall glass windows.
You stood there dripping water onto an expensive rug and feeling about two inches tall.
Abby shut the door behind you and tilted her head slightly. “You bring your stuff?”
You nodded and jerked a thumb toward your beat-up car. “Yeah. It’s, uh, not much.”
“Good.” She grabbed a set of keys from the little table by the door and tossed them to you.
You almost dropped them.
“I’ll show you where you’re staying,” Abby said, like it was no big deal.
Like you weren’t about to live inside her literal palace.
The guest house was somehow even nicer than any apartment you’d ever lived in.
It was detached from the main building, had its own kitchen, a little patio, even a washer and dryer. Abby helped you carry your stuff inside — three trips, even though you insisted she didn’t have to.
The whole time, you tried not to stare.
At the way her forearms flexed when she lifted.
At the little frown she got when she was concentrating. At how young she really looked when she wasn’t all buttoned-up in work clothes.
By the time you finished unloading, your nerves had cooled a little. Abby leaned against the doorframe with a bottle of water in her hand, surveying your sad little pile of belongings.
“You’ll fit in,” she said with a smirk.
You laughed, grateful she didn’t seem to mind how out of place you were.
Weeks passed.
You fell into a rhythm: school drop-offs, play dates, dinner prep.
Her kid was easy — smart, funny, quick to latch onto you like you were the coolest person alive. Abby kept her distance at first, always polite but busy. Always somewhere else.
But sometimes, you caught her watching.
At breakfast, when you made her daughter laugh so hard milk came out her nose.
At bedtime, when you sang low to get her kid to sleep.
At the kitchen table, when you doodled silly comics on homework papers.
Those moments were fleeting. Always broken by a phone call, a meeting, a door shutting upstairs.
Until that one night.
It had been a long day.
Soccer practice. Science fair projects. Grocery runs.
You were dead on your feet, tying your shoes by the door, about to head back to the guesthouse.
“You want a drink?” Abby’s voice came from behind you.
You froze — laces half-tied, one foot still raised.
Slowly, you turned.
She was leaning against the kitchen island, holding two glasses — whiskey already poured.
Her hair was down for once, messy from running her hands through it. Her sweatshirt sleeves were pushed up, veins standing out against her forearms.
She looked… normal. Soft. Tired in a way that made your chest ache.
You hesitated. You weren’t sure why.
It was just a drink.
Right?
Your heart thudded. You smiled, small and unsure but real.
“Yeah,” you said. “I’d love one.”
Abby’s mouth twitched like she wanted to smile too — but didn’t let herself.
You crossed the kitchen and took the glass from her, fingertips brushing hers for half a second longer than necessary. Neither of you pulled away first.
It was quiet.
The house hummed around you.
The storm still whispered against the windows.
For the first time since you arrived, you realized you weren’t scared of Abby anymore.
Not even a little.
You were scared of yourself — of how easy it was becoming to want her.
And across the countertop, Abby was realizing it too.
The way her throat bobbed when she swallowed.
The way her gaze kept dropping to your mouth when you talked about nothing and everything over the next few hours.
The way she leaned in when you laughed, like she couldn’t help it.
Something shifted that night — quiet, seismic, undeniable.
Neither of you said anything.
But when you said goodnight, Abby’s hand lingered on the edge of your sleeve, as if she almost reached for you.
She didn’t.
Not yet.
From that night on, everything between you and Abby changed.
Slowly.
Steadily.
Sweetly.
And maybe — if you were both brave enough — it wouldn’t stop.
After that night, Abby didn’t start showing up at your door with flowers or make grand gestures.
No — it was quieter than that.
It was the way she lingered at the doorway after you put her daughter to bed, sitting at the kitchen island while you finished cleaning up.
It was the way she started asking about your day — not the polite “how was it” of a boss, but the genuine curiosity of someone who wanted to know you.
It was the way she smiled now — small, almost shy, not the tight professional one she used to give.
The slowest burn you’d ever lived through.
And you?
You started finding reasons to stay a little longer after your shifts.
You laughed at her dry jokes until your insides hurt.
You kept catching yourself looking at her — at the crinkle of her eyes when she laughed, the way she always absentmindedly cracked her knuckles when she was thinking.
You were screwed. Completely, irrevocably screwed.
It was almost two months later, on another rainy night, that it all came to a head.
You were curled up on the couch in Abby’s massive living room — her daughter already fast asleep upstairs — flipping through some mindless movie on TV. Abby wandered in, holding two beers.
“You look dead,” she said with a small smirk, dropping onto the other end of the couch.
“Feel dead,” you mumbled, gratefully accepting the beer.
You sat there in silence for a while, the muted light of the TV flickering across the room.
You could feel her across the couch — the warmth of her body, the slow, steady rhythm of her breathing.
Half an hour passed.
Maybe more.
You didn’t know anymore, the beer softening the edges of the world.
At some point — you didn’t even realize when — you shifted sideways, curling your knees up and resting your head against the back of the couch. Facing her. Watching her.
She was already looking at you.
Something pulled taut between you.
Tight. Breathless. Dangerous.
Abby set her beer down with a quiet clink.
Her hand flexed against her thigh like she was fighting herself.
And then — her voice, low and rough:
“You’re good with her.”
You blinked, caught off guard. “Your daughter?”
Abby gave the smallest nod.
“You’re good…with me too.”
Your heart stopped.
Dead quiet.
You opened your mouth, searching for something to say, but Abby was already moving — slow, careful, deliberate.
She shifted closer.
Not much — just a few inches.
“You make this place feel like home,” she said, voice raw.
Your chest ached so hard it hurt.
Without thinking — without giving yourself time to doubt — you closed the distance.
Leaning in.
You stopped a breath away, giving her a chance to pull back.
She didn’t.
Instead, Abby’s hand came up — rough fingers curling behind your neck — and she kissed you.
It wasn’t a soft kiss.
It wasn’t sweet.
It was starving.
Years of loneliness and longing crashing all at once.
A kiss that said I didn’t think I’d ever have this.
A kiss that said I’m scared to want you but I do anyway.
You gasped against her mouth, and she swallowed it hungrily, her other hand gripping your hip like she was terrified you’d slip away.
You didn’t.
You stayed.
Pressed closer.
Kissed her back like you’d been waiting for this exact moment since the second you stepped onto her front porch.
Later, much later, you lay tangled together on the couch.
Her sweatshirt smelled like clean laundry and rain.
Her fingers traced slow, absentminded patterns along your spine.
Neither of you said anything for a long time.
You didn’t need to.
Because sometimes, when something breaks open inside you — something heavy and beautiful — you don’t rush to fill the silence.
You let it bloom.
And lying there against her chest, you knew:
this was just the beginning.

Quinn, Diamonds, Prompt #9 (option to include #1 - both are so good!!) 🫶🏻
Tumblr media
warnings: using a camera during sexual acts, dirty talk WC: 575
Tumblr media
“Aw, baby, this is just what you needed, huh?” Quinn asks, smirking devilishly through his grainy reflection. “You’ve been so stressed. That’s all over with now, right?”
You nod mindlessly, grinding back on his cock. You’d been preparing for this interview all week, over-preparing to the point that you’d be able to answer any hypothetical question that your (hopefully) future employer could throw at you.
Quinn had helped you, of course. He’s a doting boyfriend who wants what’s best for you and he’ll help you in any way we can. Part of helping you was the promise of stress relief, or a reward for doing so well after you complete your interview. You had chosen the big reward, wanting to focus on prepping for your interview rather than getting distracted by sex, and Quinn had told you to trust him.
After your interview ended, he closed your computer and replaced it with his own. He opened his camera and had you center yourself in frame, the way you had when you were talking with the hiring managers a few minutes before. Then, Quinn had done something surprising. He had stood behind you and kissed over your neck until you were melting into his touch.
Then he’d unbuttoned your shirt, revealing your “pretty tits” and the bra that confines them. He’d cradled their weight in his hands, still kissing over the sensitive skin that covers your pulse point.
It hadn’t taken him long to get you standing. He’d pushed the chair away from you, then bent you over the edge of the desk with a gentle, guiding hand. Then, he had rid you of your pants and pulled your panties to the side, crooning into your ear as he entered you with a finger.
“My smart girl,” Quinn had said. “So capable. You killed it, baby.”
A second finger. “They’d be stupid not to hire you after that interview. Almost as stupid as you’re going to be when I’m done with you.”
It was a promise and he’s made good on it so far– he’s at the point where he’s long since abandoned using his fingers and is now fucking into you with sharp, precise thrusts. You’re clenching down on his cock like you’re trying to milk the cum out of him. Your moans are echoing throughout the bedroom, and occasionally Quinn will remind you to look at yourself on the screen.
“What would they think, baby, if they could see you now?” Quinn asks, bringing a hand to the back of your head and gripping your hair. “You think they’d like the show? Make you CEO right away just because you look so pretty when you’re squeezing my cock?”
“Oh my God,” you whimper, blushing at the mere idea of it. Quinn loves to humiliate you a little bit, especially after a hard week for you. It makes you looser, louder, more eager to come. He knows how to erase all of your thoughts with just a few words.
“Nah, you’d never let that happen,” Quinn muses. “Only I get to see you like this, isn’t that right?”
“Only you, Quinn,” you agree breathlessly, your head dropping forward again to rest on your forearms, entirely fucked out.
“Ah-ah, baby,” Quinn corrects, pulling your head back up with a disapproving shake of his head. “Let the camera see your face when you come. I want to watch this back next time I go out of town.”

Me frothing at the mouth: MoRe! MORE!! Honestly love you and the work you’re doing. Honestly you are so right about how no one writes enough Omega Will x Alpha Mack fics. Humbly requesting something like that. Maybe them doing media and answering questions about each other after they have officially mated? Idk you choose.
Tumblr media
thank you!!! 🥹🩵 i love your idea about a post-bond media interview hehe — fic under the cut!!
Mack’s been through a lot of media days. He’s done early-morning promos, charity shoots, feature interviews with sports networks where they make you wear suits and talk about your “journey.” He’s good at it. Quiet, polite, focused.
But this is the first time he’s done one with Will since they mated.
And he’s not okay.
Will is perched on the stool next to him, bouncing one leg and grinning at the small group of Sharks media staffers behind the camera. He’s wearing Mack’s chain, his scent is everywhere, and he’s clearly feeling himself.
“Alright,” one of the staffers says. “Let’s start with some basic questions. Just say the first name that comes to mind. Ready?”
Will leans forward. “Ready.”
Mack nods, already nervous.
“Who’s more likely to wake up early?”
“Mack,” Will says immediately, poking him in the arm. “He’s like a golden retriever. Up at dawn. Looks personally offended when I sleep in.”
“You fall back asleep after breakfast,” Mack mutters, nudging him back.
“Yeah, because you wear me out.”
Mack freezes. The room laughs.
Will just looks pleased with himself. “What? We work out together.”
The staffer clears her throat. “Okay, uh—who’s the better cook?”
Will points at Mack again. “No contest.”
Mack shrugs. “I like it.”
“He meal-preps for both of us. Labels my tupperware. He made banana bread for my mom last week.”
“She said she liked it.”
“She asked if he could marry me again, just to be sure.”
Will’s teasing, but his voice softens near the end, and Mack can’t help the way his chest tightens. His omega always says stuff like that—offhand and bold and proud—and it never stops wrecking him.
“Alright,” the staffer says, smiling. “Who’s the clingy one?”
Will raises his hand. “It’s me. I’m the problem. I would like to be held at all times.”
Mack grins, eyes still on him. “That’s not a problem.”
Will glances at him, a flicker of something softer passing between them.
The staffer flips to the next card, a little more cautious now. “Uh, okay. What’s your favorite thing about your bondmate?”
Mack opens his mouth—and then immediately closes it again.
Will watches him. Doesn’t interrupt. Just waits.
Mack exhales slowly. “He’s…” He shakes his head. “He’s the bravest person I’ve ever met. Not just on the ice—like, yeah, he’ll throw himself into a corner with a guy twice his size and chirp him the whole time—but more than that.”
Will’s teasing grin fades, his expression going still and open.
Mack goes on, voice quieter now. “He never hides who he is. Not once. He walks into a room like everyone should be lucky to know him. And he’s funny, and smart, and a pain in the ass, but he makes me feel like I’m more than just a hockey player. He makes me feel like I’m wanted.”
Will stares at him. Breathes in, slow and deep.
“Mack,” he says softly. “…you really like me a lot, huh?”
The whole room breaks into laughter. Even Mack has to duck his head, laughing with them.
Will leans over, grinning, and touches their shoulders together. “It was very sweet. You’re gonna get laid for that one.”
“Will,” Mack groans, face red.
“I mean, I was gonna jump you anyway, but now it’s confirmed.”
“I hope we cut these.”
“Oh, we’re not cutting anything,” Will says brightly.
“Alright,” the media girl says, laughing. “One last one: how did you know he was the one?”
Will turns serious faster than Mack expects.
“I didn’t,” he says. “Not all at once. I just—every time I looked at him, I felt steadier. Like I could handle anything, as long as he was there.”
Mack’s throat goes tight.
“And I’m annoying,” Will adds cheerfully. “So if he didn’t run away in the first month, I figured it was meant to be.”
Mack laughs again, a little hoarse. “I was never gonna run.”
Will looks at him, eyes bright. “I know.”
They sit in silence for a second, the air thick with the comfort of being known, of being chosen.
“Okay,” the staffer says. “That’s everything. We’re done—thank you guys so much.”
Will leans back, stretching his arms overhead. “Can we get smoothies on the way home?”
“Yeah,” Mack says automatically.
Will hops up from his stool and walks past the camera crew, ruffling Mack’s hair on the way. “I’m gonna drive. You’re in a bond-haze.”
“I am not.”
Will snorts. “You said I was brave. You’re wrecked.”
He walks out, smug and glowing.
Mack stares after him, heart pounding, scent heavy with mine.
He is, in fact, wrecked.
But he wouldn’t trade it for anything.

back to life | lando x older!she
Tumblr media
Pairing: lando x older!she. Summary: with a new job on the line and a new adventure on her own for the very first time, she can't afford to risk putting a foot step wrong. it's a shame the younger f1 driver is used to living his life at 200 miles per hour and he's not afraid to pull her along for the ride. Word Count: 2.4ishk Warning: nothing yet... AN: this was going to be a one shot but i think we're looking more around 3-4 parts? i get word vomit and i simply can't stop myself. my intention with this script will be to keep her as non-descript as possible so that people can self insert at their own indulgence, the only thing is she's older than our fave number four. all the older!reader credit inspo goes to the lovely @coff33andb00ks <3
There was a high chance she was going to be sick. Why she had thought that she was ready to be in this position she didn’t know. The Mclaren account was not one that anyone wanted to mess with and at 29 she was officially the youngest person to manage it for Ashurst. Yep, she was going to throw up. When the promotion opportunity had come up she had thrown her hat in the ring for the experience, to test herself and see if she could make it through the interviews for such a role. She had prepped the best she could and told herself any feedback she got would just serve her for when she was well and truly ready to take on an account as large as this one.
It was a good job she had been sitting down when the call had come through to join her boss in the office and celebrate the good news they had to offer her. The job would require a team she knew that, there was no way that she would be able to do it all on her own and the next stages would be deciding on any changes she needed to make and working on the team that would represent Ashurst for Mclaren but it was her name on the door, her choices that would make all the difference. Her say would always be the final one and she was ready to crumble at any given moment at the weight of it all on her shoulders. Impostor syndrome was being a real bitch right now.
This morning she had been so sure that she could manage it, the meetings that she had held so far over Teams and Zoom had all gone swimmingly. Zak was charming and easy to work with, her team seemed to respect her despite the fact she was younger than at least half of them but all the confidence she had managed to muster that she could do this, seemed to leave her as she headed into the Mclaren center for the first time. She had been on a visit just once before, as nothing more than a fan before but now as she felt eyes on her the shirt she had made sure was pristine this morning suddenly didn’t feel smart enough, the click of her heels was too much and she was ready for throwing up all over again.
Today likely hadn’t been the smartest day for her to be introduced to the key players in the game given how overwhelmed she had felt about the account already, but Zak had been insistent. Everyone would be on sight today and it would give her a chance to say hi before everyone vanished for the summer break she knew the team needed. Thank god as the team’s lawyer she wouldn’t be required to travel around with them all that often and most of her work could be done from home. She would miss her bed far too much to be away as often as the rest of the team were. Zak hadn’t been lying either, when he had said that everyone was here and she had given up trying to count the sea of people from where she was tucked into the center waiting for the stars of the show to arrive.
She had never met either driver despite her time working with the team previously and she would keep her excitement over the matter buried deep. There would be no fawning and swooning, no acting star struck. She was a professional, a damn weapon in her field and she would be respected as a perfectly good lawyer, there was nothing and no one that would take her determination to smash everything about this promotion.
Certainly not the green eyed driver currently climbing from his car as the rest of the team cheered for them. She had seen him plenty on the TV and always thought he was handsome, even if he was younger than her, but seeing him in person? Good god she needed to get it together. Day one, it was only day one in the damn office. There was no room to be mesmerized as Lando spoke to the crowds, taunted his team mate and generally seemed to be the center of attention in the room despite the fact there were two papaya boys in the room. This was his home, that much was obvious and these were his people. It filled her chest with an odd sense of pride that these were the groups of people she would be protecting and keeping in line, even from the background.
For his part, Lando wasn’t doing much better at keeping his attention where it needed to be. He’d seen her as soon as he had stepped out of the car, eyes on the woman that stood just behind Zak. In her business-like attire she stood out like a sore thumb in the swarms of papaya and he didn’t mind it one bit. He’d never seen such a pretty face in this damn factory and before he could stop himself he let his eyes trail over her frame, she was older, not by much he assumed but just enough and were it not for the nudge in his side from Oscar he might have continued to stare at her. Who the hell was she? The question had continued to taunt him through the rest of the afternoon as he mingled, took so many photos and smiled so much his face hurt but his eyes had always managed to stray back to her. She had stuck by Zak’s side for most of the afternoon and he felt a flare of something unusual for him, even though it was obvious Zak was introducing her to people.
“If you don’t stop staring at her, she’s going to get a restraining order against you before you’ve even met.” Oscar warned with another jab of his elbow into Landos side, the shorter driver whipping his head back to the younger with a scowl.
“I’m not staring…just - who is she?” He found himself asking and he was unable to hide the tone his question held.
“New team lawyer, or account manager I heard, she works for Ashurst but is our contact.”
Lando frowned once more at the aussie before his green eyes inevitably found themselves looking for her again, desperate to trace over every curve hidden in that pencil skirt. How did Oscar always know everything first and more importantly how did he make that skirt a part of her everyday uniform? Despite everything that had gone on in the season so far, he had still been looking forward to the summer break celebrations and being back at the MTC. It always filled him with some sense of pride but any thoughts of team celebrations were now tucked firmly at the back of his mind because he wasn’t going to be able to concentrate if he didn’t find a way to be introduced to her soon.
“What’s her – “
“Lando, Oscar, you got a second?” Zak called as he finally made his way to his driver pairing, a nervous lawyer in tow with him.
Oscar could only roll his eyes at the expression that had formed on Lando’s face, that boy had never been able to hide anything a day in his life. Zak, squinting at his older driver, stopped allowing her past as they came to a stop in front of the boys. “Boys, this is our new lawyer from Ashurst, she comes with glowing recommendations and she is going to be around more and more so I expect you to be nice.” He offered with a beaming smile as Oscar stepped in first, given the frozen state of Lando, hand held out to the pretty lawyer. She was Lando’s type for sure. “Hi I’m Oscar, or Osc according to this guy, nice to meet you.” Turning his gaze between her and Lando he paused for just a second, the appreciation apparently mutual, before he gave a small cough as Zak was already busy calling someone else over. “And this here is Lando…he’s not a mute I swear.”
She couldn’t help but smile at Oscar for just a moment, a flush on her cheeks as she noted the sarcasm in his tone before her soft gaze returned to Lando. First of all, where was his mother so she could thank her for his creation, and what the hell was he wearing because he smelt incredible. Holding out her hand to the older of the two men she waited for a moment before she felt his rougher hand slip into her own. “Right - I’m Lando, welcome aboard.” God could he sound any more awkward if he tried?
Luckily for both of them, Zak slapped a hand on Landos back, reinserting himself into the moment. “All introduced? I’ve invited our new lovely lawyer to the team dinner tonight when there are a few less of us so we can all get to know each other. How does that sound?” He beamed as he looked between everyone, a little slow on the uptake.
“Yes, yes!” Lando beamed, god he knew he loved Zak for a reason. “I think that’s a great idea you should come with us!”
“Oh I don’t want to intrude and I don’t, I don’t actually drive, where is the dinner tonight?” She flushed furiously at the idea she worked for a company like Mclaren now and still couldn’t drive. It simply wasn’t her fault that the clutch hated her.
Lando, oblivious to the looks Oscar and now Zak were giving him, was already beaming with ideas forming in his head. Hot older woman, he could drive, a practical date. Win, win, win. Before Zak could even offer her a car Lando was already stepping closer to her. “I can pick you up, don't worry, it will do you good to arrive with a friend, arriving on your own might be a lot.”
“Oh no Lando, you really don’t have to.”
“Please.” The young driver scoffed with a wave of his hand. “Is that your phone, I’ll put my number in.”
Feeling the blush she wore deepend she nodded, handing over her phone to the driver. He was being sweet, that was all she told herself because there was no way in hell it was anything more. He was, god he was gorgeous and she had seen the women he went for, younger, tiny, famous. She didn’t fit a single piece of his usual type, likely just an inch shorter than him in the heels she wore, her hips wider than most women cared for and five years older than him.
“There you go, text me your address and I’ll pick you up at six thirty?” He offered, full charm in swing as he looked back at her. She was pretty from afar, but upclose? Lando just wanted to count each of her freckles and bumble over his words as he tried to flatter her.
She needed a moment to compose herself and recenter, she had been flirted with before, she was pretty she knew that, but the men had never been, well fucking Lando Norris and big red flags that she was not allowed to flirt with in return. “Thank you, Mr Norris, I’m just going to go find the bathroom I’ll text you my address for later.” Maybe, she might still pull out if she could think of a good enough reason to do so. With the most awkward wave she could muster she found herself spinning on her heels, a string of curses sounding in her head as she tried to look calm whilst she was scurrying away to any form of locked bathroom door she could find for a very real mental breakdown. This was bad, this was very, very bad.
Watching as she left Lando was pretty sure he let out an audible sigh. God what a fucking woman. Only the cough behind him brought him back to his current surroundings and he spun to face the questioning gaze of his boss and amusement of his teammate. “You’re not fucking the new lawyer.” Zak confronted boldly, that would be a can of worms he did not want to deal with. “End of, drive her to dinner, play nice, be ready to never be allowed to be alone with her ever again.”
Lando wanted to protest straight away, that wasn’t fair, they couldn’t dangle something so sweet in front of him like that and then tell him that he wasn’t allowed to have it! Opening his mouth to protest Lando was met with a strong shake of his head as Zak took his leave, Oscar still fighting back laughter at the whole situation. “You’re so, so screwed mate. So screwed.”

Freddie Fox On Gwayne
I just listened to Freddie Fox's latest interview on the Pilot TV Podcast—it's full of great insight into Gwayne's character, including a potential hint at where he's headed. I highly recommend listening yourself, especially because Freddie is so lovely, but I've included my favorite bits below (including him calling Fabien "Fabs" and "Fabby").
Tumblr media
On Gwayne and Alicent in Episode 6
"I loved that conversation he has with Alicent. In fact, it was a scene we ended up reshooting...I was glad to have another shot at it, actually, because I wanted to give it a couple more extra beats in there that I think really show what their relationship was, which is one that's been very distant. But one that is quite loving, even if only in sort of theory, rather than practice...I did a lot of backstory on him and I feel he was very much raised by his mother who he lost very young. He's sort of been an abandoned child. And so consequently, reaching out—as well as he knows how—to his sister in that scene I thought was very touching."
Tumblr media
On Fabien, and Gwayne and Criston
"[Fabien] is amazing fun...Fabs and I get to spend a lot of our time together, and I really, I can't put it more frankly by saying I felt like I'd known him for 20 years after having met him for 24 hours. And that's really lucky, because we do have to spend a lot of time together.
And you do need to feel, over time, that these people—who are really on opposite ends politically in the court do end up, sort of, skirting each other, and then finding common ground. So it was lovely to feel like we could do that quite easily because we had a good friendship straight away."
More under the cut:
Tumblr media
On Gwayne's Relationship With Otto
"I'm such a fan of Rhys Ifans' work generally anyway, but he has such poise and command as a performer...I watched him quite carefully thinking, is there a way I can take some of his body language into my own and see if I could, you know, sort of trace the familial kind of thing between us through body language.
That being said, it sort of then dawned on me really that we'd not really spent much time together as father and son. He's always been preoccupied with the work at Court, being this sort of Rasputin, really, character, and I'd been brought up by my mother in a completely different place."
Tumblr media
Hints for a Gwayne Finale Arc...
"There's a mercurial element to him which is quite smart, and rational, whilst also sometimes being loaded with preconceptions as well. He really humanizes over the course of the series. I won't spoil what happens in the final episode, but it made me really endeared to him as a person going, look, you know, he's someone who perhaps was raised with a bit of a silver spoon in his mouth and was a little quick to judge initially, but as time goes on and the battle completely breaks him down, he becomes a very human, kind person."
...And potentially a return for Season 3?
"I will watch Season 2 in anticipation of prepping Season 3, but I'm not watching any of it as it comes out. It's sort of on principle, I suppose, not wanting to get too caught up in it when I'm doing other work. But I couldn't resist watching that episode [Rooks Rest, I think] and I text Fabby afterwards, and just said 'Wow, we were part of the whole thing there, that was really cool.'"

Tech Tuesday: Quarterly Updates
Tumblr media
I don't have the energy for writing out a longer chapter, but I don't want to leave you all hanging, so I'm opting for a snippet for each pairing to give you an idea as to where each story is at.
Tech Tuesdays Masterlist
Tumblr media
Bucky & Sweetie:
Bucky holds your hand in the parking lot of The Mad Hatter. He and his friends have helped you prepare as best they can. Part of you knows you should wait until after you've calmed down from August's assault, but you know that you won't be able to rest until you've got an assured source of income for you and your brother.
"Don't worry, Sweetie," Bucky squeezes your hand. "You're gonna ace this interview. You're smart, skilled, and the queen of customer service."
That last part makes you snort laugh and you're rewarded by his face scrunching up in a smile.
"Do you want me to go in with you or wait out here?"
"You've already done so much, even just getting me the interview. I need to know I can do this without you giving Jefferson meaningful looks or additions or anything."
"I understand," he nods. He gives you a small kiss on the cheek. "You've got this."
Tumblr media
Curtis & Heart
The alarms go off and you spring into action. Chase is coding, you think. No! Not Chase. It's just another patient!
You push down all of your fears, anxieties, and focus on the work that has to be done. The doctor instructs you to prep the epinephrine while he begins chest compressions.
The next several seconds feel like an eternity but all you can do is go through the motions. Treat him like any other patient. Follow the doctor's orders. You've done this hundreds of times, no need for this one to be any different.
When his heart finally starts beating again, there's a collective sigh of relief. But the relief gets cut short for you when look up and realize Chase is awake and looking right at you.
Tumblr media
Geralt & God
The monthly competition is coming to a close. God has a demanding lead this time. He wants to play at what Geralt did last time he was in the lead and preemptively move the rubber ducky prize to his desk. But he will be a good sport and set a good example.
Besides, with D&D as a regular outlet, they've found themselves more relaxed in general. They've not only found a safe space with each other, but with others as well. It's been good for them.
Tumblr media
Jake & Sunshine
You and Jake are sitting at the dining room table doing your weekly schedule and budget check-ins.
"I know the company is catering the picnic, but I still want to make up a few things in case the twins are feeling picky that day," you tell Jake.
"I'm sure the caterers won't be offended," he reassures you. "Plus, depending on what you bring, the G's might also partake."
"I hadn't thought of that! I should make up some buttered noodles, just in case."
"You know you don't have to cook for everyone, Sunshine," he gently smiles. He leans closer to you and caresses your cheek. "I'm a little worried about you overworking yourself."
"I promise I'm not," you shake your head. "I just...Luke and Leia are getting more independent and soon they'll be off to school. I've gotta readjust my energy or something. I'm used to being needed 24/7 but now..."
Jake moves his chair next to you and holds you. "For what it's worth, I definitely need you 24/7. I couldn't function without you."
"That goes for both of us," you answer with a kiss.
Tumblr media
Jonathan & Rose
You feel like you're taking a risk tonight. It shouldn't feel like that. Jonathan certainly isn't the one making it feel like a risk. But you still feel like it is.
After the encounter with your work friends, you'd wanted to have a simple night in. Jonathan had acquiesced and the two of you planned a dinner date where you'd cook together and curl up on the couch watching a new movie.
Since the date was happening at your place, you decided to take a risk, and let yourself dress comfortably. Sweatpants and your favorite t-shirt. It shouldn't feel like you're taking a big step, it's just comfy clothes, after all. But Jonathan's only ever seen you in your nicer clothes. Ones that fit you well.
It feels unfair, too. He's so handsome he could wear a crop top and booty shorts and still look good. Meanwhile you're scared to look like anything less than perfect.
There's a knock at your door. Too late to change now, you think.
When you open the door, Jonathan is there in jeans and a t-shirt. He looks at what you're wearing and smiles. "You look gorgeous."
Tumblr media
Johnny & Darkangel2000
Johnny Storm, TheHumanTorch69, whatever name he goes under he's still a pain. He's followed up on his part of the agreement. He's helped you with some really bad people.
But you can't stop thinking about him, and that's a problem.
You're not used to guys doing as they promised. Being understanding. Wanting to help. Part of you wants to take him up on his offer of doing more, but you just can't risk being betrayed again.
Elsewhere in the world, Johnny finds himself unable to sleep because he's worried about you getting caught, getting in trouble, or worse. He really wants to step in, but if he does, there will be consequences and he's not sure he can handle those.
Tumblr media
Lloyd & Maestro
"Yellow," you manage to wheeze out.
Lloyd immediately stops and goes into care mode. "What's going on, Maestro? What do you need?"
"Water," you rasp.
Lloyd winces at the sound of your voice but quickly gets the bottle of water by the bed. He knows he's been overdoing it. He knows he's been pushing you to your limits, and maybe even a little beyond. But he still can't fully figure out why he's doing it. And that scares him.
He holds you in his arms and tips the water bottle so you can drink from it.
"There's my good girl," he coos. "Thank you for using the color system. I'm so happy you did." Given your previous encounters with doms who didn't respect the system or the safewords, he has been worried you'd just let him get away with anything, too scared to try to speak out. He wants to make sure you know it's okay and that he will respect it.
Now if only he could figure out why he's so insistent yet scared of pushing you away.
Tumblr media
Mike & Boss Lady
"Oh, one more thing, before we're done with our weekly meeting?" Mike pleads. You nod your approval. "I know the end of the semester is coming up, and I'm supposed to have made a bunch of progress on this project but...um..."
"How far behind are you?" you raise an eyebrow. You're genuinely surprised. The meetings with Mike, meetings with the department about the database have all been going well.
"I'm not! I'm just...I'm...um...if I can..."
"Take a deep breath," you gently urge.
He does as instructed. "I was wondering if you'd be interested in keeping me for another semester? I know I've got the database going well, but I also know there's a lot more I can do with it."
You nod. "We'll have to confer with Pine and Syverson down in IT, but I certainly don't have any objections."
Mike smiles, relief written all over his face.
Tumblr media
Ransom & Bubbles
The car is silent. Ransom isn't sure where you're taking him, but he's not about to ruin what little progress he's made by speaking.
Well, he might have tried talking if only you weren't angrier than he's ever seen you. Come to think of it, he can't remember any time he's seen you angry. He's not sure how to react other than to let you take the lead.
The car pulls into a parking lot next to a small building with a sign that says "Community Mental Health" on it. You pull up to the entrance and park the car before turning to Ransom.
"I've accepted the apology, but you've not yet earned the forgiveness." Ransom nods, understanding. "Forgiveness is going to take a lot of work. And you're going to start by going into that building and setting up an appointment with a therapist."
Ransom's eyes widen a little. He looks so scared but you know this has to happen.
"For months now I've been pushing you to get a therapist. You've made a lot of progress, but you need professional help, just like I did. Just like I still do. This place does income-based payment for sessions, so no complaining that you can't afford it."
Ransom wants to run, panic, get away. He knows he needs the therapy, but actually doing it is something else.
Tumblr media
Steve & Newbie
You and Steve are enjoying a picnic date at the local park. You're sat against a tree while he's laying on the ground, head in your lap. He's the picture of happiness with that dopey grin every time you run your fingers through his hair.
"Our friends have been having an interesting time," you comment.
Steve nods. "Bucky's girl is doing better, by the way."
"That's good," you sigh. "And Bubbles is ready to bite Nick's head off."
Steve chuckles. "I'm actually looking forward to seeing that. I know I'm not allowed to just throw punches, I'm just there in case things get out of hand, but still. It's gonna be quite a show."
"Thanks, again, for helping her out."
"That's what friends are for."
Tumblr media
Syverson & Darling
"I've got you, Darlin'," Sy says, trying to console you.
Another negative pregnancy test. Another wave of crippling self-doubt. Certain you're everything your family said you were.
"How can you still want me?" you manage to ask between breaths.
Sy cups your chin and gently pushes your face up to look at him. "Because you're still the most amazing, intelligent, beautiful woman in the world. And I'm the luckiest man on earth because I get to call myself your husband."
His tone, his look, leave no room for argument. You know he means it when he says it. But that black pool of doubt runs deep, tempering your response to his earnestness.
You cuddle up with him, tears still coming, and just whimper, "I hope you're right."
Tumblr media
Walter & Spitfire
The couch was delivered about a week after you'd bought it. Walter had helped you clean get rid of the old one and clean up your apartment to make sure the movers had the space they needed. Or as much as they could get from your shoebox sized apartment.
Thankfully the movers were professionals and had everything under control. You can't even imagine all the weird architecture they've likely encountered.
As soon as they're out the door, you look at Walter. "Ready to help me test this thing out?"
"Got a long weekend to do so," he chuckles. "How do you want to start?"
You consider for a minute before telling him, "we're going to order some delivery so we can test out that anti-staining crap they sold me on." Walter nods and you get close, pulling on his sweater so his face is level with yours. "And while we're waiting, we're going to see how much weight and force this thing can actually handle."
"Yes, ma'am," he grins.

Additional LADS as a K-pop band Headcanons because I need to get it out of my system:
Sylus, Zayne, and Rafayel are the most multilingual members
I'll subscribe to the headcanon that Zayne actually finished school, and debuted. He took additional language classes in Chinese, Japanese, and English, and is fluent in all. Boi is sMART
Sylus grew up in Canada, so he knows English, French, and as part of his idol training, he also took up Japanese and Chinese. He's most fluent in English, Korean is a close second. He knows enough Chinese and Japanese to survive on his own, but he can't properly call himself fluent either.
Rafayel got scouted in America, specifically when he was sketching faces at the subway. His family's Chinese, but he grew up in the USA, so he's native-level in both. He learned Korean when he was training, and he's picked up some Japanese phrases here and there, but he still needs a translator (read as: Zayne).
Xavier is Japanese and he, like Rafayel, learned Korean as a trainee. When the company started prepping them for their debut, their manager had Zayne teach Xavier some English vocabulary. Zayne complains Xavier falls asleep halfway through each session.
Caleb is fluent in Chinese, both speaking and writing. He can understand English, but finds it difficult to speak. He's currently studying Japanese, and feels a lot of pressure in learning more languages as they reach the global sphere. He's the leader, after all, and he takes great responsibility in being able to represent the group well. Zayne supports him heavily in interviews by translating.
Thoughts.

SVU Stabler kids’ schools
For fic purposes, I was trying to find out where some of the Stabler kids go to school.
In Season 1, we can assume Maureen goes to school that doesn’t have a uniform, and that is probably not single sex as she goes to the Homecoming dance in Wanderlust with a boy and see her dad drop her off towards the end of Sophomore Jinx and nobody seems to be wearing anything remotely similar to Maureen’s black top and white jeans.
In Season 6, Elliot goes to talk to Kathleen outside her high school, which is named as Glen Oaks High School. The exterior looks completely different to where Elliot dropped Maureen off in Season 1, and I think there are only girls around, so it could be single sex. There doesn’t seem to be any sort of uniform though, as all Kathleen’s friends are wearing wildly different outfits.
In Season 3, Kathleen is shown to be struggling with several subjects so maybe Elliot and Kathy deemed a smaller school with fewer distractions might be better ( if there aren’t any boys that will minimise the boy drama) but Elliot mentions Kathleen’s former boyfriend, so I really don’t know, it could be the same school as Maureen’s.
In Season 11, Turmoil, we find out that Dickie goes to Cardinal Catholic Prep School, which has a pretty strict/smart uniform ( shirt, tie and blazer), and seems to be single sex as when the SVU squad come to interview Dickie’s classmates, we only see boys there.
We know that Dickie got into a fight in Season 8, which would be middle school age. So maybe Elliot and Kathy thought he’d be happier/do better in a smaller school with more support and he’d have some more male friends/guy time as he seems to take Kathy and Elliot’s split very hard and seemingly only lives with his mum, sisters and grandma during their separation and doesn’t see his dad as much as he would like to.
My head canon is that Lizzie goes to a performing arts school and they put on regular shows ( in Season 10 or 11, Elliot ends up going to one of them and mentions she was in Anne Frank before that).
And Eli, when they are in Rome, goes to an International School where he has classes in English with other native English speakers and history, geography, science, maths etc are all in Italian, though the American section do focus on US history, geography and literature too, of course.
When Eli returns to New York, he is several years ahead of his peers so is in all AP classes or joins the older students for their lessons and graduates early, at 16/17, to help with the wonky timeline as he is supposed to be at most 14 when Kathy dies ( and it’s probably closer to 13, really), if my maths is correct. Each Season is 6 months to a year long, with maybe a few “X months later” jumps, He left in Season 12, aged (nearly?)  3, came back in Season 22, so that’s 10 years give or take, plus let’s say 2 time jumps of 6 months each makes him 14. And by Season 3 he is already in college, which would make him 17-ish!

Do you think there is any benefit to the idea that Biden should just not bother with these TV debates anymore? With how the media is so strongly stacked against him, that it might be more beneficial to focus on things where he excels at like town halls and meeting people in person?
I think he agreed to do it, so backing out would look worse and be more damaging than any benefits from sticking to events that play to his strengths. Indeed the media attacked him pretty heavily for being over choreographed in events and interviews (sounds like Hillary being "over prepared") I do think Biden should, and if you look at the last few weeks he has, do more events with the people, and if he can wrangle a televised town hall that'd be great.
but on debate, we shouldn't think Biden is some historically bad debater. In 2012 Obama BOMBED his first debate with Romney, people were writing the death notices for his re-election (much closer to E-Day then July!) and it was Biden who swung into action at the Vice-Presidential debate, laughing in Paul Ryan's face and mocking him easily showing Ryan up as unlikeable and trying to destroy social security. Biden is good at being the every man reacting to "Malarkey!"
I think what went wrong in the first debate is two fold. First of all when you're President and you care to do the job, there's never ever gonna be enough time, there will always be one more call, one more meeting, one more thing that needs your attention. Biden mentioned aids adding things to the schedule. If you're a President like Biden who is good at the job and likes it, I can see how it becomes hard to say "no" because we're talking huge things. So Biden had been working too much, too hard, for too long. That week he went to Europe, did the G7 meetings lots of meetings lots of work, flew back to the US to California to do a fundraiser with Obama and George Clooney, flew back to Atlanta to do the debate. Along the way the guy gets a cold, so what we all saw was a guy who was tired from months of working too hard, jet-lagged, and sick. Trump did nothing that week, he golfed and hung out with friends showed up rested and not having a head cold.
The other thing is the prepped for the wrong debate. One team Biden pushed for rules that ultimately helped Trump. The rule of mics being off when the other is speaking, people hate when Trump interrupts, he's at his worse when he does that, you made sure he couldn't do that. Second no crowd, all politicians feed off crowds, read their energy. crowds cause Trump to lean into his worst instincts always reaching for the next big reaction, but also Biden feeds off people's reactions, in a way that is much better for him than it is for Trump.
outside the rules, clearly Biden and his team gamed out the debate assuming the moderators would do the heavy lifting of fact checking Trump and calling him on his lies and Biden's job was to look like the smart normal politician and spit out facts and figures. As a life long stutterer being able to recall and recite exact numbers and data points in just the way they were written down is not and never been a strength of Biden's, he's NOT dumb, but I can say you carry the baggage of people thinking you're an idiot from when you were a disabled kid your whole life, and I've read a lot of stories that some times in a room full of Harvard and Yale people he can get rattled. And I think that happened they pushed him to try to memorize their talking points their data sets and he got in his head. And when the debate turned out to not at all be what he planned for, when the moderators showed no interest in pushing back on Trump, Biden was caught off guard, a not sick, not jet-lagged, not tired Biden would have turned it around more quickly. We saw later in the debate Biden figure out what debate he was in and how to act and start to ditch trying to remember data sets and just throw out quips and lines "morals of an ally cat!", had he been feeling better, he'd have gotten there much faster.
So I think if Biden takes better care of himself, is strict about not adding more to his work load, takes time off to relax and rest before a debate (work on his tan like JFK did before the Nixon Kennedy debate) and also focuses on being himself, he's not Obama or Bill Clinton who are great masters of explaining complex issues with facts and figures that makes you feel like you're in school with a favorite teacher. That's not Joe, he knows the stuff, he does, but his skill his being everyone's favorite uncle telling it like it is, let him do that and he'll be fine.

fernando who’s soft for his s/o and his s/o only
GOOD ENOUGH. ❨ fernando alonso x reader ❩
another job interview, another rejection email. it was like groundhog day — you just weren’t right for any of them. all you needed was a start into the career, something to put on your resumé, a stepping stone to your dream. but the companies were all run by assholes, who all apparently had something personal against you.
arriving home, you drop your bag and coat by the door, slumping into the couch. you felt completely and utterly defeated, with absolutely no motivation to go on. you had given up.
fernando had been in the kitchen when you’d come home, finishing up dinner for both of you. when you hadn’t come straight there to greet him, he’d grown suspicious. sticking his head around the doorframe, he catches sight of you, your head in your hands.
“mi amor…” he murmurs, knowing instantly what was wrong. he’s next to you in a flash, kneeling in front of where you seat, hands tugging your wrists away from your face. “another no?”
the words leaving fernando’s lips only solidify the reality of your day, forcing you to curl into yourself again with a groan, tears pricking at your eyes.
“hey, hey—” fernando could have cursed himself for making it worse. his least favourite thing in the world was seeing you upset, especially at yourself. “it’ll be okay, corazón.”
“they all think i’m so stupid!” you cried, hands dropping to your lap. fernando wastes no time in holding onto them, squeezing gently. “i’m not good enough for anything.”
“stop that,” he says sternly, but his touch is gentle when he wipes under your eyes, palms cupping a cheek each. “don’t talk about yourself like that, okay?”
all teary eyed and pouting, you nod slowly at him.
“you are the most amazing person i know,” fernando whispers, amazed at how you couldn’t see everything he could. “you’re smart and hard—working and so kind, if a company doesn’t want you then it’s their loss. remember what you always tell me?”
“everything happens for a reason,” you mumble at the same time as him. fernando smiles a little, moving to sit up on the couch and pull you into his lap, thumbs smoothing along your hips.
“exactly,” your boyfriend kisses your forehead softly, holding you as close as you’ll let him. “i’m going to plate you up some dinner, we’ll watch whatever you want, and get some sleep. and then, tomorrow, you’ll start fresh.”
you glance up at him, nibbling at your bottom lip. he was sweet, so very sweet that it made your teeth hurt. the best part was — only you got to see this side of him.
“i’ll help you look at some more jobs and prep for the interviews. you’ll go into the next one and try your best, that’s all you can do,” he’s rambling on with one of his pep talks again, and you cut him off with a kiss. “but no matter what, i love you. okay?”
“i love you too, ‘nando,” you murmur against his lips. “thank you.”
“my pleasure, mi amor.”

Since the Beginning - Midoriya Izuku
Warning: body shaming, insecurity about looks, family issues, suggestive

Tumblr media
Having a prohero boyfriend is really a double edged sword, especially when he's the successor of the Symbol of Peace. Deku, the greatest hero, Midoriya Izuku, is a man larger than life. And to stand next to him, to be loved by him, is an honour and a stain in itself.
You're known as 'His Girlfriend'. The luckiest girl on Earth, a position that many covert for you sit on a pile of riches that he so graciously gifted you. Not only that, Izuku is the ideal man. Compassionate, brave, powerful, smart, a little goofy and nerdy, he's the man every parent wants their daughter to bring home. And that honour belongs to you.
But having Deku as your boyfriend, means that you must also meet the world's standard. A girl that's equally as friendly, sweet, beautiful, successful, an ideal woman for the best man out there. And every day you look in the mirror with the thought, 'Gosh, why does he even like me?', so does everyone else.
Every time the two of you are out in public and get photographed, there'll always be a comment about your weight, your pimples, how it's always Izuku pulling his card out, how you don't treat his fans with respect. And your boyfriend does his best to fight back in the ways he can. In the rare interviews he'll always mention the love of his life, the woman supporting him from behind, who puts up with the 24/7 limelight and harsh critics of those who know nothing. He even enlists the help of his old classmates who try their best to change society's mind. But it only makes you feel more pathetic, that Izuku does so much for you and you can't even present yourself better.
It takes a long, burning, tearful shower for you to finally resolve to change. With a bright smile, you talk to Izuku about wanting to be more healthy and start volunteering.
He cups your cheeks, "Sweetheart, if it's about-", "Izuku, please...just let me have this", and your eyes swirl with so much desperation he can only say yes.
But the green haired man makes a strict schedule for you to follow, he refuses to watch you please the world and drop dead. He asks Ochako to exercise with you, where you start on light cardio and Pilates. Bakugo reluctantly sends you a few tips on healthier eating and even spends a day at your house meal prepping. Izuku doesn't know about this because the villain-like hero would burn your house down. He even asks his old teacher, Thirteen, to help you find volunteer work.
The world's opinion of you change when photos of you helping out at homeless shelters and after villain attacks. You also change as well, he notices. You've become more social, going out more and posing for the cameras rather than hiding from it. He sees your regular posts and stories at the gym, making healthy snacks, promoting charities, going out for brunch with the U.A. Class 1 girls. Izuku couldn't be more relieved. So many nights he has had nightmares of you taking dieting too far or working until you end up in the hospital, trying to become the perfect woman and breaking yourself in the process.
But change takes a long time and no matter what you do, the world will always bring up your past. And you've learnt to live with it, to understand that what you're doing is more than enough. However, that doesn't mean those comments don't hurt. Especially when it comes from the people whose words mean the most.
....
Izuku has met your parents many times. For the three years you two have been together, the hero has always made an effort to know your parents and get along with them. Your family also loves him, your mother is dreaming about the day she sees you in a wedding dress to him. The atmosphere is always warm, comforting, peaceful.
Until the small comments start to sneak in.
"Oh look at how skinny and pretty you are now!"
"Now my son in law will have no problem picking you up!"
"You should've seen her in high school, she would've weighed more than you right now!"
"If only she started dieting earlier! I kept telling her to, but she never listened and now look at her!"
Dieting, exercise, skinnier, prettier, smaller.
Of course you fire back at her. It's all jokes, but Izuku can see how much those words hurt. And every time, the ride back home is silent and you deep in thoughts. And every time after you come out of the shower, he sees you observe yourself in the mirror. Your eyes scan like society once did, looking for the imperfections. Wondering how you can erase the past, so that the world only remembers the pretty and perfect version of you.
His heart breaks, because why are your efforts never enough? He walks in and makes himself known, you jump before giving a soft smile. Izuku tries to return it and quickly digs his face into the crook of your neck. His large and scarred hands quickly hoist you up while you squeak.
As he carries you to the bed, Izuku has so many thoughts going through his head. You've always been pretty, ever since the moment he met you. He's always been able to pick you up, a hero like him should have no problem picking up boulder let alone a person. And he has seen you in high school pictures where you look so cute, he wished he met you earlier. And no, you shouldn't have started dieting earlier. Knowing the situation you were in, you would've only gained an eating disorder.
Dieting, exercise, skinnier, prettier, smaller. He didn't do any of this just to hear that from the people who should've supported you. As he laid you down, Izuku takes you in with trembling eyes. You give a smile back and beckon him closer.
Izuku has always been careful with you. His rough hands ghost your body knowing the damage they could cause, his lips only leave light hickies because he never wants to see you in bruises even if they're from love, he's always wary about the weight he puts on you and your stamina compared to his. But the nights you return from your parents are gentle as a feather. Your body becomes his temple, and he'll never stop worshipping. He oozes love and forces you to soak it up, the love that they should've had for you.
It's ironic when Izuku wants to be so gentle and loving, because it sometimes leads to him become more rough. He has so much to give that he can't see that you're overstimulated. He wants you to see that he loves you unconditionally, resulting in deep hand marks and love bites. Izuku wants you to understand that he's always on your side, so he'll hold you down and do his best to leave you quivering and blank.
....
But regardless of how he feels about your parents, Izuku knows he can't do anything about them. Because he knows that blocking your family isn't easy as it sounds.
"They're...it's just when it comes to this, they can become...off", you whisper trying to calm Izuku down, "Other than that, they're really good."
He knows, he can see it. How you're always sticking to your mother and how she always has your favourite food and snacks at home. How you melt in your father's arms and the way he monitored Izuku when they first met. Izuku sees the photographs hanging on the walls filled with parental love, the injury stories where it sounds like they were just in as much pain as you, the fights when they became a pair of bears.
Izuku also knows that in its own fucked up sense, they say that for your own good. Because he's heard you and your mother on the phone, how hateful she sounds of the media that talked about your weight and looks. Your father used to hate him for bringing you into a world that you never suited, until he finally saw Izuku as a man who loved you.
So Izuku will respect them and be civil. Because they raised you into the person you are today, the most loveliest person that he is honoured to be with forever. Because in their own ways, they also poured love and care into the soul to form it this way.
But that doesn't mean he'll take it lying down. You're his woman, and he'll protect you the way he did when society attacked you. He'll make sure they understand that their words have weight to them, and crush those words until they disintegrate to dust.
He'll do anything to show that you've always been beautiful since the beginning.
Tumblr media
Hi Lovelies, meet Izuku the greenest flag ever~!
I hope you guys felt all of the emotions poured into this fic and how much Izuku loves you! I really wanted to portray the struggle of loving your parents and understanding how much they love you, but just having that one issue that always breaks the peace. For the girlies out there living with body shaming, hold your head up high because you have been beautiful since the beginning!
I'll see you another time ♡(˃͈ દ ˂͈ ༶ )♡

Sortinghatchats - Doctor Slump
Tumblr media
For details on sortinghatschats analytical personality system, see @sortinghatchats and @wisteria-lodge
Doctor Slump is about two brilliant doctors who used to be biggest rivals in high school. They meet again years later when they both hit rock bottom for different reasons and help patch each other up, falling in love on the way.
For it being a show with a very realistic depiction of depression, trauma, PTSD, insomnia, betrayal and forgiveness, it's incredibly heartwarming with lots of funny and fluffy moments.
Tumblr media
Hannul Nam is such a fun Lion Bird. I have rarely seen on being a main character like this. Even funnier, she fits the Bird stereotype of being studious and smart because that'd her Lion goal—to study. Hannul enjoys studying, collecting, preparing and she loves it in such a feeling way, she adjusts her whole life around it. It's her ultimate goal without any higher noble or deeper motivation. She enjoys studying, being prepared, being the best with the grades, and aims for a professor of medicine career because that will allow it again—she will be studying and reading articles with all the prestige that comes with it.
While the acknowledgement seems to play a role for her on the surface, Hannul is willing to sacriface everything for her goal. Not just free time, hobbies, friends and sleep, but also her own self-respect. She is so blinded by her passion and what feels right, she is willing to let her supervisor steal her work, put her down and yell at her, if that makes her closer to her goal, her career.
Except she takes it too far for too long and burns herself down. The show excellently shows her depression, her realisation during an almost accident when she thinks she will die and scares herself with the sheer relief of it being over. When she goes to the doctor, she goes because the feeling is wrong. She can't explain it, she doesn't know when or what went wrong. It felt so right and it still does, so why is she so unhappy? Burn out and depression. It turns out to be too much, she ends up leaving work and works through it with her family that fame and success and respect indeed aren't as much as being in good health.
I think the feeling Lion primary makes the depression so confusing. Because Hannul trusts her gut, ready to back it up with her research and studying and prep. But what if she can't trust what feels right anymore? She burns her primary down at that point, unable to trust what she loves and feels.
Tumblr media
That's when Jeong Yo comes into play. Her long year rival, goofy and childish and playful and overestimated teaser who couldn't take second place next to her...who is actually a Badger primary. While he was immature still back then, he was the only one actually capable of creating a bond with Hannul where everyone else failed. He didn't know what she wanted but he became what she needed. As her rival he was the closest and most caring about her at the school and the one who knew her the best.
Goofy and carefree as Jeong may be, he always puts people first. He became a famous as a doctor during his volunteering work in Africa and it wasn't for the fame, but because "people found me interesting for some reason so I rolled with it." They wanted interviews and YouTube videos of him working and inside info and for him to make ads for them, so he did it. He doesn't care about the fame or the money, he likes being what people need him to be.
Tumblr media
Even in high school when he blacks out after Hannul beats him in maths for the first time, it's not his pride or excellence that takes a hit— it's his integrity. This is who he is supposed to be, this is what he understands his environment wants. Starting from his parents who demand excellence for him to have worth to his school teacher and his friends. If he isn't the coolest one around, who needs him?
But it's the most obvious during the lawsuit. Jeong loses a patient during a plastic surgery and gets sued for murder, that is all a setup, but that costs him reputation, money, his clinic and friends. And the first thing Jeong does when he realizes the full scale of the damage is to pay his coworker friends first, cause they will lose their jobs because of him. Car, house and clinic don't matter half as much as paying his sponsors and all the people that will lose as side-effect.
The lawsuit and false accusations turn out to be Jeong's personal hell only after he realizes nobody believes him. His integrity, his role in the community, what he was needed for suddenly...vanishes. Everyone blames him, turns him down or kicks him out and he takes it in quiet desperation. Hold out a facade till the last minute. Was it not for Hannul's mother's kindness, no one would have even let him rent a place to live.
Tumblr media
Jeong lights up when he is with Hannul. Slowly worming his way to her, he knows instinctively what she needs and becomes this. It's his idea to go from former classmates to friends, it's him who realizes Hannul missed out on having a life and interests for her obsession with studying, and therefore works on giving it to her. Takes her to play games, karaoke, on an improvised bus trip. He does all the playful childish things with her and riles her up with the competitive banter from their teen years. He makes her smile and relax and feel stuff.
Hannul doesn't reciprocate until she realizes this is indeed the answer. This is helping. No one understood, nobody helped as much and as successfully as he did. Nobody understood that well what she needed even if everyone was trying. Once she feels herself getting better because of him does she start caring in turn. She becomes his biggest defender, studies his case - in her wonderful Bird secondary way - and finds him a crucial study similar to his own that helps him in court. She studies his sleep patterns and behavior and devises ways how to help with his insomnia and trauma and fears. He becomes a sort of her project, and she builds him up step by step.
Tumblr media
For Joeng's secondary I'm guessing Snake. He is defined by change for me. His demeanor changes completely depending who he is with and with his feels about what each person or group around him feels and expects from him. It's quite powerful. He is the friendly doctor with shining smile from the ads. He is the serious and sad suspect on the trail. He is the polite and shy neighbour and renter, but he can switch to being the goofy high school rival in split second. The way he can completely change when around Hannul and then her family, with his friends vs other friends...and he is good at it. Enjoys it. It's playful and fun and creative and it depends on the situation. He is very expressive and emotional when he is alone, so he doesn't loose touch with himself or his feelings. The way he is helpful and always puts others first without realising he is doing it is so Badger, but the playful personality switching depending on what's needed or when he can relax and when he can't is so Snake.
Jeong tells Hannul to put herself first instead of just her goal. Hannul tells Jeong to think of himself and not everyone else and what they want from him. She often becomes the main defender of his interests. No, he won't take the interview, cause he finds it uncomfortable, even though he would say yes to the reporter if pushed. No, he won't forgive you that easily, although Jeong has a habit of forgiving about anyone who actually apologises (giving second chances is very Badger of him).
It's very fun to watch them take care of each other and be and say what the other needs as they slowly accept that for themselves as well.
In the end, Jeong gets a family in Hannul's family, forgives his friends that betrayed or were jealous of him (under Hannul's careful inspecting supervision) and Hannul learns to stand up for herself, even if it's not profitable for her goals. It feels good, in the end.
Hannul Nam - Lion/Bird
Jeong Yo - Badger/Snake
