the sandra lynn / fig conversation is driving me Insane. fig saying that sometimes she doesn’t wanna exist as herself at all…not wanting to ask her friends how they see her (because she’s afraid to hear their response) saying that to someone she is a monster and she Cannot stop thinking about it. sandra lynn starting the conversation saying she needs to step up but is also simultaneously taken aback about what fig expresses and doesn’t know how to responds to it and suggests getting ice cream. sandra lynn saying “convincing people they deserve good things is really tough” talking about herself but how it also reflects fig. insane!!

Coriolanus Snow and Anakin Skywalker are perfect examples of really interesting characters who had every chance to do the right thing but repeatedly chose wrong even though they were surrounded by good people, all because they had one person whispering in their ear and convincing them to be selfish and to hurt people instead. There is no point where they have to do what they do, it’s their choices that make them compelling.
They’re also both incredibly controlling over the women they claim to love but are quick to try and physically harm them when they realise that they’re actually human beings who will not blindly follow them. It’s very clear they were possessive, not actually in love. To sincerely love is to respect someone’s agency and neither of them were capable of that.
Another trait they both share is that, despite being layered and well written but fundamentally flawed characters who turn to evil by their own free will, if you cast an attractive actor to play them, there are always going to be people who blindly ignore the entire plot just to defend them and justify their actions. Being a victim of abuse or oppression does not excuse you from being a perpetrator.

My fav thing about TAZ is that any aspect out of context sounds fucking bonkers.
Like, in the balance finale there's a scene in which Garfield (who is very specifically never described visually bc most people imagine him as like. The Lasagna Cat. Who in this universe is the most powerful warlock in the realm and also has a hobby of cloning people, which is great for the one character that got forced into haunting a mannequin) is summoned by an alien spaceship that runs on the power of friendship so he could beat up some flashing balls. In D&D.
And that was just. Such a normal scene in the narrative. No one blinked an eye. I would like to bow down to Griffins clear unmatched talent for making me feel such big emotions over ridiculous shit like a goddamned umbrella or a regular ass pair of jeans or the idea of a taco recipe.

Thorin sits thoughtfully alone in the royal treasury of Erebor. From the White Gems of Lasgalen he lays out the name BILBO and frames it with them in the shape of a heart. Bilbo quietly approaches him from behind and looks over his shoulder.
Bilbo: What are you doing?
Thorin: * flinches from suddenness* Nothing! Everything was already like that when I came!

Snow Globe Love
Your life was a ball of snow
cold with frosting bites.
When you play and throw bullets
of laughter and ice,
somewhere your inner child smiles.
But then the world shook
so violently asking,
Who’s crying when the skies shed
shards of tears, lonely
breeze carried silent mourning.
You let the heavy ice pile
up on your shoulders.
Walls of glass rose to embrace
an untouchable you who
dreamt for an ending,
sold your soul to the future,
trusted winter’s unkindness;
Letting your regret
give birth to goodness.
You are the warmest
of falling snowflakes
Who left lingering
kisses over me,
But what we had was never
Summer’s love nor Spring’s fever.
What we had was a snow globe.
Dancing amongst the white storm
was your dark coat and bright soul.
From afar I watched,
I envied, I wished, I loved.
Before she shattered glass;
Until we fell apart.
