7. what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?
Fish, mostly. I am partial to the family Carangidae, which includes the lookdown, permit, and pompano, and the family Osteoglossidae, which includes the arowana and arapaima. A tropical coral reef or a well-staged jellyfish exhibit may also hold my attention for some time. Perhaps on some weekend we might visit an aquarium. I wonder if Master Soleil has ever been.
11. anything from your childhood you’ve held on to?
I have a hat box on a shelf in the closet. This contains an album of photographs, along with the four artifacts from my nursery I cannot bear to throw out. They are two children’s books and two toy animals.
These books compose Our Esteemed Lady Elisia Jessamine’s Illustrated Collection of Mnemonics for Precocious Young Herbalists (Third Edition). In the form of charming little rhymes, one book contains advice for gardening, the other foraging. For as long as I can remember, I have known them by heart. They were my introduction to the world of plants, and I used to sing them for comfort and amusement. An excerpt:
Spaderoot takes to rocky soil. A leaf may soothe a weeping boil. Where spaderoot found, thou must beware. Red blooms of poison find ye there: A single sprig of Hydra’s-breath Will bring about a bullock’s death.
And these were my adventuring companions, the cunning Seukotinim and their fearless steed, Badorushi the horse-sized duck. It seems silly to hold on to such things now. But the duo were so important to me as a small boy that from my notion of them I cannot sever the impression of great relevance.
[Seukoti and Badoru resemble these apparent ebay listings.]

5 Factors to Consider When Choosing a School for Your Child
Tumblr media
Nelson Mandela once said, “ Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” And the first step to laying the foundation for your child is to pick the right school.
As a parent, you must have a plethora of thoughts before making that decision for your child. And we clearly understand how overwhelming the process can be. Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Today, we bring to you some major factors you need to consider before picking out a school for your child. Here’s a lookdown:
What does the school preach and practice?
The first and foremost thing to understand is that every child is different. The way they think, the way they behave, and the way they perceive the world varies. So, analyze your child, and look at their strengths, weaknesses, needs, and interests. Do a background check on the school accordingly. Say you want to put your child into one of the Best CBSE schools in Kukatpally, Hyderabad; go through their website, check the activities they involve kids in, and carefully look into their vision and mission. If that is something your kid resonates with, you’ve found your match!
How far is the school from Your House/Workplace?
If you are not considering sending your child to a boarding school, then the proximity of your child’s school to your house and office matters a lot. Especially in a metro city such as Hyderabad, keeping your child closer to you is important. If they fall sick, get hurt, don’t feel well mentally, or get into a fight with their classmates, you should be able to reach them within a few minutes schools in madhapur
How qualified, aware, and nurturing are the teachers?
Teachers play a major role in developing your child’s mind and personality. Firstly, please take a closer look at their qualifications, so your child learns from the best. Then comes how aware are they about things that our society is yet to bring acceptance of; for example, gender identity, sexual education and orientation, equality, patriarchal norms, and many more. This factor is important to shape your child to make them comfortable in their learning space.
Does the school fall under your budget?
Unless the school fees fall under your budget, there’s not much to discuss. Do not rush into picking up a school just because other kids in your area are going to the same place. Look strictly into your finances, and consider whatever is doable.
Is the school creating a balance between academic and extracurricular activities?
Let’s say your child’s school is the Best school in Kukatpally area in terms of academics, but their curriculum lacks extra activities, such as sports, arts, student government, and community service; it will not cater to your child’s overall development. Having strong academics is essential, but so is personality development.
In Conclusion:
We hope this article will help you through your process of picking out a suitable school for your child. Speaking of which, look at https://www.globaledgeschool.com/ . which has branches in Kokapet, Kukkatpally, Madhapur, and Vasanth Nagar. Who knows, your child might end up in the perfect educational space.

Other burning Liger Gifs. (And Gilraptor) Love their tail movement.
Honestly zoids senki might only be 3 minute episodes but they are packed full of amazing animations and so much zoids, we don’t get the usual human relations and slow scenes.

Hi! Can you do a headcanon of Joi 4 + bansai with a s/o that always lookdown when she's sad? I really love this blog btw it make's my day😊
hey anon, thank you so much! your message made my day 🥰 I hope I got your request right. if not feel free to send another ask - niob
Gintoki:
the first time he sees you looking down at your feet with big sad eyes he immediately feels guilty
d-did he do something wrong?? he carefully approaches you and asks what happened in a soft tone
even if he is not the reason you are sad, he will still continue to feel bad about it
whatever or whoever made you sad will soon meet their end because he absolutely hates it to see you like this and if it’s possible to do something against that he will do it without thinking twice
he is willing to share his parfait when you look so sad (but only then!)
he gets a headache from trying to think of something that would make you feel better for an hour before he just approaches you, scoops you up in his arms and holds you tightly for as long as you want
Katsura:
he tries his best to not get affected by your sad puppy eyes looking down on the floor but fails miserably after only two minutes
he softly pats your back and asks you what's wrong and how he can make you feel better
sends Elizabeth to buy all kind of things that might help
Katsura puts a blanket over you (one that Elizabeth bought), offers you ice cream, a stuffed animal, a grenade, silly looking glasses and playing a round of uno with him
if none of that helps he panics a little bit and comes up with a (also not very helpful) proverb or some of his samurai wisdom
Takasugi:
he pretends to not notice your sad face at first, but he can't keep it up for long and will side eye you from time to time until he can't take it anymore
he suddenly gets up or stops whatever he was doing just now and goes away without a word
he comes back with something to make you feel better (Yakult your favourite snack or beverage)
he may be a little bit awkward in cheering you up, but he really tries his best
if you two are alone he will put one arm around your shoulder and let you rest against his chest
Sakamoto:
once he sees you in this sad posture, he gets sad right away as well
he would want you to talk about what made you sad because it might make things a little bit better
he may be loud and goofy, but he is a good listener if it’s something important
if you don’t want to talk about it, he tries to distract you with dumb jokes and all kinds of silly things
he would do everything to make you happy again and is not afraid to make a fool out of himself only to see you smile again
he asks you what you need or want and gets you everything within a few seconds
Bansai:
when he sees you, he notices instantly that something is wrong
he worries about you but also thinks that you look lowkey cute like this
if you want to talk about what made you sad, he will listen to you very attentively and tries to give helpful advice if that’s possible
if not, he just makes sure you are comfortable and offers to listen to music together while he holds you close to him
he also writes a soothing song just for you and plays it on his shamisen
he is there for you if you want to but also lets you have some alone-time if that’s what you need and want

Lmaoo ik I’m Persian and I was so confused when I heard that Cordelia was gonna have red hair.. I’ve never seen one in my life and I asked my mom if that’s even a thing and she said she’s seen maybe a couple when she literally lived there?? I was so excited for Cordelia but I can’t actually relate to the her as much as I had hoped :/ I was looking forward to reading about James falling in love with a Persian girl because it kind of makes me feel more like an actual person worthy of relationships myself?? Ik that’s super stupid, I love so many fiction novels but when all of the characters are so unlike me in terms of identity and appearance I don’t feel as connected to the story, turns out Cordelia had to be the one outlier of Persian features which just highlighted the way it feels like the only way I can be recognized as a person of colour is as an outlier of my own ethinicity in terms of my appearance and even the way I interact with my culture, it makes me feel like I have to prove myself in an “I’m not like other girls” way
i don't think it's stupid, at all. it makes sense that women of color (people of color in general, but i'm gonna focus on woc here) look for this kinda of validation in books/movies. we've been deprived of healthy relationships for so long that it's understandable that we go into media looking for an ideal one. when you have half of that pair as someone who should looks like you, it's almost impossible to not make expect more from it.
i can't talk about cordelia in the sense of how she left me down as my personal rep, of course - but as normal reader, i expected more of her in terms of how persian heritage was approached? like, her favorite thing about persia is layla and majnun (and that was more explored in her storyline with james than anything else), but i wished we could've seen more of her feelings on other persian stuff besides literature. not sure if you're with me on this one, but i would love to know your thoughts!
how you described your feelings towards the end is exactly what makes me angry when writers choose to make their poc characters """exotic""". it makes more bad than good to read about a character who should represent you having traits that don't resemble you. it's damaging and hurtful.
that being said, i ask you to never distance yourself from your culture and not even once think that your appearance would be better if you had traits that aren't typical from your ethnicity. media has been telling us for too long that we don't dress in the right way, that our costumes are weird. media has been telling us for way too long that our noses aren't in the right shape, that our mouths aren't in the right size, that our eyes, hair and skin are too dark to be beautiful. it's hard to let go of this mentality when you've been exposed to it since you were young. you shouldn't blame yourself if sometimes you feel bad about your own appearance and your prominent ethnical features. you shouldn't blame yourself if sometimes your relationship with your culture gets doubtful. it's the way that white society has made anyone who isn't white feel, especially when we don't try to look like them. you shouldn't lookdown on yourself when you're a victim in all of this.
i do hope that in future books, tsc or not, other persian characters won't let you down and that you'll be able to connect to them. you deserve it. love u !!!

Hello! May I ask on what should I do to accomplish my dreams? Like all of it, from starting a business, doing charity, saving nature and helping animals in general? Cause I want to do to rise my country in our own feet without influencing by other countries like US ehehe. I'm very sorry if its sounds impossible and unrealistic, but Im really sick of living in a porr country being lookdown too. -A female (Thank you for hearing my rants ehehe, and thank your for your time!)
Hi A! 🖤 it does not sounds unrealistic, it is extremely hard though but it's possible. I'm from Latin America so I know exactly what you're talking about.
Regarding your question, just want to say first the determination you have is amazing. The first thing I feel you should do is explore the horizons within your mind. Plan stuff, try them if they fail, plan something else. You should travel, thats going to help you by giving you fresh ideas about you want to do. With knight a swords I see some conflict going on, maybe it's hard for you to get support from the people around you about your ideas, and that's very hard cuz sometimes no matter how determined you are, not everything depends on you and your need support. However you should be carefree about any negativity coming into your life from people, remember this are your plans, the ones that are going to make YOU happy. With the high priestess as the main energy for you to achieve your dreams you will need to be patient, and trust yourself, trust your intuition and be open minded, I know sometimes we have things planned on a specific way but life is an unknown path so be open to explore new things, learn new things. Try other options, the main thing is to not limit yourlsef, in the journey even your small actions will have an impact and sometimes this is how change is generated.
I hope the reading helps 💖

When Nature Was Golden
Tumblr media
Let’s open with a few passages of deathless prose from the classics.
EMORY’S SOFT-SHELLED TURTLE (18 in.; to 35 lb.) is the only Southwest member of an edible group with long necks and short tempers. Handle with care.
BELTED KINGFISHER Where there are fish there are Kingfishers, beating the air in irregular flight, diving into water with a splash and emerging with fish in their beaks.
THE EASTERN MOLE or common mole makes the mounds that dot your lawn. You are unlikely to see any moles, for they stay underground unless molested.
You saw them in the basement of your third-grade best friend, or in your school library. If you were lucky, you had one or two at home—your older sister read them first, years ago; maybe they’d even belonged to one of your parents. Paperback books just a bit smaller than pulp fiction novels, though equally thick, their illustrated pages of a glossier, higher quality. The typeface was Futura, that design marvel of yore, also seen in the old Hall of Dinosaurs in the American Museum of Natural History. Insects, Seashores, Mammals, Reptiles and Amphibians—which did you have? The Golden Guides gave us our natural world in all its glory, and managed to do it in a singular style, dry yet affectionate, concisely informative and never, ever dumbed-down. They were written for children, but each, too, is a cracking read for any adult eager to learn. Or to remember.
Naturalist Herbert S. Zim, who founded this series of guides and wrote many of them, was born in New York in 1909. Raised there and in Southern California, he finished his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D at Columbia University. He was then a science teacher for twenty-five years—at Ethical Culture schools in New York City, and later at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. One wonders where on earth he found the time to crank out so many books. Each was a loving collaboration with other educators, not solely Zim’s effort. But the synthesis of these people, the meticulous research required to bring together all the info, was his responsibility, from 1949 until the early 1970s. Zim, in 1969, was also the editor of an 18-volume set of encyclopedias named Our Wonderful World.
Of the 84 Golden Guides, Zim wrote or co-wrote 24. Is it confirmation bias that makes me believe those are the best of the bunch? The simple style is charming, with phrases like Rock Ground Squirrels, found in the Southwest, are our largest terrestrial squirrels. What grace: with a hint of pride to be from the United States, he said that the squirrels are ours. (I also appreciate that he uses the word “unique” correctly, without qualifiers. The Barn Owl is unique, not “totally” or “somewhat” unique.) The occasional anachronism amuses. Once in awhile Zim tells us which kind of turtle or ground squirrel makes a good pet, if captured.
You have been seeing birds as far back as you can remember and you will continue seeing them wherever you may be. It’s a real pleasure to see them. You can see more birds and more kinds of birds by learning how to look. This book will help you. It is not written for the expert, but for people who want to see birds just for the joy of it.
First become familiar with the mammals pictured and described. Look through the Key to Mammals on the next pages so that you can recognize the major mammal groups. Try to see the mammal well enough to decide, for example, whether it is a rodent or a shrew.
Familiarity with fishes gained by thumbing through pages at odd moments may enable you to make rough identifications at sight. Use this book as an “arm-chair” guide, but also take it into the field with you, for that is where it can be used best. On fishing trips take it along in a plastic bag.
Originally named the Golden Nature Guides, the series name was shortened to “Golden Guides” when they began branching out into other topics—for example, Guns, Sports Cars, and Casino Games. But these adult subjects did not make it into most family rooms, and the more popular guides about flora and fauna, insects, weather, stars, and the like are the ones most frequently found today. The illustrations by James Gordon Irving and others are remarkably detailed, the beauty of pure accuracy from a time when nature photography was rare.
A particularly enchanting feature of the Guides is the family tree, usually a two-page spread of swooping, color-gradated branches, each limb ending in a small picture of an animal in its biological order, labeled something like “Cutlass Fishes” or “Scorpion-Flies.” No less an artist than Matt Groening would eventually parody this format for his Life In Hell comic, describing the evolution of record-store clerks from sullen teens.
Herbert Zim, in his long career as an educator, was the one who brought lab instruction into science courses at the elementary-school level. Anyone who looked through a microscope before they reached ninth grade might have him to thank. And one attribute of Golden Guides is the way they expect one to get involved, not just in the field, but with “amateur activities” like building a birdhouse or preserving animal tracks in plaster. Through such deep engagement, the reader is encouraged not just to appreciate nature, but to discover new things about it, making new contributions to science.
He demanded no less of himself. Going through what biographical information there is on Zim, which is all very straightforward, one notices the list of scientific associations he belonged to, numbering more than twenty. They included the Audubon Society, the Union of Concerned Scientists, the Everglades Natural History Association, and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Truly, this was a vigorous and busy man.
Like so many cultural products of their time, the Golden Guides can look antithetical to today’s progressive values. Just ask the Yuman Indian woman who sits weaving cotton, bare-breasted, in one of the pictures in a guide to the American Southwest. In little vignettes we see depicted dozens of trappers, fishermen, tourists, birdwatchers—all white, mostly male. Under the entry for “Other Suckers,” Zim claims “some are so easily caught that every boy knows them.” If the Guides were written just for boys, this is a great shame, though their ubiquity meant that many girls of all different backgrounds would find them. The scientific language is devoid of prejudice, by its nature, and is there for any young person dedicated enough to study it. It prizes the natural world above all. One passage recently took me by surprise for its passion, on a page about the fishing industry: If you are interested in fishes, conservation—the wise use of all our natural resources—is your problem too.
Maybe it’s our current predicament that makes one particularly fond of the outside world, and of non-humans. Back in March, I started watching a live online feed from The Aquarium of the Pacific each night, comforted by the variety of fish, sharks, and rays that swam peacefully by. Curious about a small fish with long, showy gold fins, I consulted Fishes to identify it, and Irving didn’t disappoint. Meanwhile, Herbert Zim informed me that the species, named Lookdown, belong to the mackerel-like family of “jacks” and are fine eating.
Tumblr media
In 1934, Zim married the Russian-born Sonia (Sonnie) Bleeker, who had studied anthropology at Columbia. The couple had two sons. Bleeker, too, worked in the book world—as an editor at Simon and Schuster, then as a full-time children’s book author. They eventually moved to Florida. Just like the descriptions in the guides, these biographical facts fall well short of being dull. They force me to imagine how energetic, how full life must have been in the Zim household as the kids grew up; and how many subtropical species kept Herbert company in his later years. After Bleeker’s death, he married Grace K. Showe in 1978. He died at Plantation Key in 1994, of complications from Alzheimer’s.
LIVE OAK has become a symbol of the South. The low, spreading tree, often covered with Spanish moss, marks old plantations and roadside plantings. The elliptical, blunt-tipped, leathery leaves are evergreen—that is, they remain green and on the tree throughout the year. The acorns are small but edible; wood is used for furniture. Two other southeastern Oaks (Laurel and Willow) have leaves of somewhat similar shape, but they are thinner and more pointed than Live Oak. Several western Oaks are evergreen. Botanists apply the unqualified name Live Oak only to this species. Height 40 to 60 ft. Beech family
In a Manhattan backyard in the middle of June, a couple of mourning doves fly between the trees. I’m aware that the gentle woop-woop-woop sound they make is not their voices but their wingbeats. The dogwood’s cream-yellow blooms have begun to fade, as is proper at this time. Above me a juvenile blue jay, still fluffy, shrieks out his typical noisy cry. I’m intrigued to see a red speck moving among the hairs on my arm—it’s a clover mite, an insect I haven’t noticed in decades. As recently as 1982, I was a four-year-old marveling at the rolling movement of clover mites on a windowsill—smaller than pin heads, bright candy-apple red. Somewhere along the line they stopped showing up, at least with the frequency they did back then. Now, seeing even one evinces a swell of emotion. (Incidentally, the same is true of another brightly-colored beauty, the red eft, which used to be so numerous in summer that we had to tiptoe on New York State gravel roads to avoid stepping on them.)
We learn more from Zim’s texts than he bargained for. His Golden Guides speak of a midcentury United States where all these animals and plants were still commonly seen. Just based upon my memories from the past 20 or 30 years, there seem to be fewer animals everywhere; in the 1950s, then, was the Earth just teeming with them, in every corner of every suburban lawn? Having learned that the biomass of insects, in particular, has started to fall fast, I yearn for the spectacle of clover mites and hastily do a search for them. Yes, the internet reassures me: we in New York City still have lots of the red bugs, enough to warrant a FAQ page from a pest-control company. They’re harmless to humans, pets, houses, and furniture. They munch grass and reproduce parthenogenically, which means every individual can lay viable eggs, without mating.
Of course, the sites telling me this haven’t worded their data quite as eloquently as Herbert Zim would have. Still, I thank him for the spark of curiosity that got me there at all. He taught me not just how to identify a clover mite, but how to care about her.

extra space for privacy and meetings.
I also had thought about how in one the studio session Carl gave feedback to one of my peers asking for privacy or meeting space people. So I had taken that into consideration and tried to think of things I could make and add it to my space as a meeting space or private space. However I came across a lot of problem because I didn’t want to overcrowd my space as I already had the circle structures covering most of the space. So what’s my solution? I looked at a Shehryar’s blog and thats when I had an idea of creating a space that was elevated and in the air.
But how was I going to do that and what problems would that pose for accessibility? I thought hard about this and I came up with a solution that included my elevated space design that I had modelled and added a platform to it people can lookdown over the space.  Elevators was my solution for entering the space for all people.

Joy is one of those paradoxical things that becomes more fleeting the more we hang on to it. Think of it like a butterfly – it is beautiful and delicate and can be nurtured, but should never be held, or it will lose the ability to be the very thing that makes it beautiful. We tarnish those moments in our life that make our heart sing by trying to hold on to them too tightly.
How many times have you had a great time one day and felt completely let down the next, simply because it’s not that one day anymore? Has it ever occurred to you that, by doing so, you (a) aren’t allowing yourself to be carried forward by the wonderful feelings of the day before, and (b) aren’t allowing for the new day to be just as great, in its own way?
Joy connects us with the Divine in a tangible way. As such, it needs to be nurtured and supported as much as possible, while allowing it to fly where and how it needs to. Every morning, bring all of your attention into your heart center, which is in the middle of your chest at the level of your armpits. Allow yourself to connect with your joy, either organically, or by remembering something that brings you joy. Breathe energy into that space, feeding the joy, allowing it to grow. Allow that joy to carry you forward through your day. Once you remember that you can create that feeling on your own, it’s easier to let go of joy that is generated outside of yourself so that it can be whatever it needs to be.

The Fault in our House?
September 17, 2020 4:13 pm
"Don't find fault, Find a remedy" -  Henry Ford
I don't understand why there are some  people who have this kind of mindset where instead of solving their problems they would rather lay the blame on others. Yesterday, September 16,2020- The rain was pouring so hard, which caused a bit of flooding in our street gutter. One of our neighbors went to us and complained about their house being flooded by water due to a blockage of the gutter in front of our house. She implied that maybe it's been blocked by collected dirts and dusts from our car and motor washing business. I was so confused that time because I was left alone at home when they barged and complained so I just stood there and watched.
I am so perplexed to why they would make such a fuss when we're all suffering the same thing? I remember months ago we were flooded inside our house while it's only their front yard that was reached. Our car wahsing business was not up back then but We didn't blame anyone instead my Mother made a way to fix the mess. I was sleeping in the living room and woke up being surrounded by water. I really feel bad that we experienced such situation and I suddenly feel pity for my Mom because she had to do all the work. I was so mad yesterday, but managed to compose myself. I badly wanna tell them that we've suffered worse, but my Mom told me to just let them be.
I realized that you can't control the people arround you but you can control yourself. When my Mom said to just let them be it reminded me to be not that kind of a person who will make a big deal out of anything. It reminded me to be kind. I really hope that someday I'll be able to give my Mom what she deserves, that people would not try to lookdown or belitte her.

On a Soapbox (OOC)
So, there is a rant ahead. Read at your own risk. There’s no triggers or any of that nonsense, but someone might get their ‘feelings’ hurt. *snorts* I’m not going to put that “continue reading” because some people need to see this.
So, what is with this WrA community being so toxic towards eachother? It’s a genuine question, because I am entirely confused on where such a big changed happened in a matter of a year. I quit WoW to go to bootcamp and make some headway into my career, came back, and bam, everyone is an asshole. Well, nearly everyone. When did it become okay to critisize, bash, demean, lookdown upon, belittle, and bully people? Someone fill me in, because I am soooooo very confused.     Since I have gotten back, I’ve seen nothing but drama from the 18+ community. We all graduated highschool, right? Or we never went? Okay, so why the hell are you trying to relive those days? Badmouthing and trying to ruin someone just because of what you heard or one negative experience is so ignorant. So, how about we stop being assholes to one another?     HANG ON I’LL SAY THIS FOR THOSE IN THE BACK THAT THINK THIS DOESN’T APPLY TO THEM: STOP BEING ASSHOLES!
Every person on this game is a human being with legitimate feelings. Yes, you are on the internet, yes you should have thick skin. However, that does not excuse bullying. Why? You don’t know what any one person is going through in real life that they are trying to get away from. Why the hell do you want everyone to RP your way? There’s a quote that I absolutely adore. You ready for it?  “Being different should not be considered a bad thing. On the contrary, you should love that you are different, because that means nobody else is like you. What a boring world it would be if we were all the same.”     See? Instead of discouraging someone elses RP because it isn’t what YOU would do, try simply watching it and enjoying the persons writing and creativity. This isn’t about you, the world doesn’t revolve around you, and it definately won’t stop turning just because YOU don’t like something. I am so tired of seeing my friends or guild mates discouraged about RP, or wanting to quit the game, because our community has become so toxic that we care more about OOC drama and trying to do a powerplay IC.     I’m not with drama. I’ve been out of highschool for years. I’m in the military, trying to do something with my life. I don’t have time to get on and listen to people bitch because they want everything their way. Keep the drama IC, and love one another OOC. You’ll find life is so much better that way. So the next person I see shaming someone OOCly for the way they RP, how they do things, or anything of the manner...expect a very long winded message about how rude you are being. Then I’ll invite the other person to RP with me, because fuck it why not? Why should I look down on them for RPing, when we are all on the game to do the same thing: have fun and escape real life for a little while.
That being said...I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday. Don’t forget to hug your loved ones and smile at a stranger. I’m over 1000 miles away from any one single family member, so I don’t get that option. Keep on keeping on, and if anyone EVER NEEDS SOMEONE TO TALK TO...I am here. If something just has you down and you want to vent, you want advice, or you just are lonely and want someone to talk to...I’m here. I won’t judge, I won’t criticize, and I sure as hell won’t turn a blind eye to you. I’ve lost too many friends to suicide for that.  Much love all...

Always look down! When exploring a new space I see it from as many angles as possible before I take out the camera. The first thing my eye goes to is the composition. How we perceive shape, space and angles changes how we view and feel about something. The orientation we choose can create tension, drama, curiosity, pleasure and many other feelings. What are you looking to evoke with your photograph? 🔸 Once I have the composition set, I consider the color in the scene. Do I want one color to be more dominant? Should there be more of a monochromic approach? Colors play so much off of our emotions and engage our subconscious. 🔸 Form is shaped by the way a scene or subject is lit. What are we looking to draw our attention to? Where do we want our viewer to first start looking when they see a photograph? These are just some of the questions that pop in my mind before I click the shutter release cable. 🔸 Out of context from the rest of the hallway that is not seen in this shot, these stairs weren’t too exciting to look at. Having right angles, straight lines, one circle and a pop of red, I felt this was a great mix of ingredients to capture a more minimalistic photograph.
