Commander's Log:

It's been almost a year since this war with the Eggman Empire started. A lot of good people are still inside, while we're hanging on by the skin of our teeth out here.

It all started with a usual attack on Sunset Heights. It was supposed to be routine. But Eggman brought something new this time. Something we'd never seen before...

Even Sonic couldn't match the power of this new weapon. He distracted the enemy long enough for me and Tails to make a getaway. But that's when he was...

This new weapon held him up to the city like some kind of trophy of war. I'll probably never get that sight out of my head.

We gathered the others as quickly as we could for a counterattack. But he was too strong... Only three of us escaped. But Tails disappeared, so it was just me and Rouge.

This fights been going on for over a year. It's taken a lot of effort, and maybe just a bit of hope. But we're finally ready to make some real headway.

It's time to save the world.

Commanders Log: Founders

For the sake of all new recruits, I decided to make a set of updates as to who is currently a member of the Resistance and what purpose they serve.

First are the ones who founded the Resistance after the rise of the Eggman Empire and the defeat of Sonic the Hedgehog.

The main leader of the Resistance is Amelia Rose, more known as Amy. She and I escaped the battle in which most of the others were captured and fled to Angel Island using a hidden warp ring.

She serves as the operations commander and makes sure that everyone who is a member of the Resistance is given what they need to properly do their job.

Overall, she's done well in stepping up to the plate of being the leader of the Resistance, and has proven she's the right hedgehog for the job.

The other founder of the Resistance is that of I, Rouge the Bat. I serve as both the Inteligence Commander and head of Special Operations.

With Tails MIA, it's been left to me to decrypt any files we may find off of the Empires Data base. I was also able to procure some old G.U.N. tech I... procured to help get the Resistance of the ground and even use the Master Emerald to power a prototype cloaking device to hide Angel Island from Empire views.

ok well if no one will msg me so i can copy and paste my sonic forces rewrite braindump i'll put it here

First off: The war has already gotten insanely bad before Sonic disappears. Eggman has been sending Badniks everywhere so it's impossible for the characters to fight them all at once. I'm taking Infinite's Jackal Squad and making them a city defense team rather than thieves. And to give the playable avatar a bit of story, they're a part of the squad as well. So after battling a Badnik, Infinite is knocked out. The squad runs to get him medical help, and he wakes up alone.

Then Starline shows up and gaslights Infinite into thinking he was abandoned. Starline gives him the mask, and takes him to Eggman. This way we get the whole "Starline meets Eggman and tries to show off that he can be a villain too" plotline. In the comics, he just sort of shows up, so if he brings a newly brainwashed minion, then that makes it a bit more interesting. Basically, Infinite sides with Eggman, because he believes siding with the Resistance got him abandoned and alone.

I'm also planning on changing that one scene where Tails cowers in front of Chaos. That was REALLY out of character, especially since Tails has literally defeated Chaos before. So I was thinking maybe he would try to fight Chaos, but as this is an illusion from Infinite, his fighting tactics are different than Chaos's actual tactics. This catches Tails off guard, so now he has a reason to be scared, but instead he's just confused. I think this works WAY better than just having Tails curl in a ball and hide.

The other main thing I want to change is what happens when Sonic gets captured. Honestly, I think changing Sonic's reaction to getting imprisoned and tortured, making everyone a little less hopeless without him, and keep them from finding out Sonic is alive for a while longer would make the whole game WAY better.

Sonic isn't just being super sarcastic and mentions "oh lol you're torturing me lmao anyway", he's actually weakened and injured. And this has an actual effect on the story and gameplay. He has less stamina, so attacks don't deal as much damage, and in cutscenes, he's still visibly hurt and distraught. He was tortured for six months and that's never really shown in the game??

I'm not saying we need to show the actual torture- just make it actually have an impact. Also why did they chain up his arms in the game? Why not chain up his legs? What's he gonna do, punch Zavok? He's the fastest hedgehog, not the strongest. That would make the torture even more impactful because he couldn't escape.

I also want to change everyone's reaction to Sonic being gone. In the game, the world falls to war as soon as Sonic disappears. But do you honestly think that with everyone's abilities combined- psychokinesis, invisibility, having a comically large hammer- missing just one team member who's just fast would mean the world collapses immediately? Eggman has been sending badniks to cities everywhere, so the team can't possibly fight them all at once. Everything's *already* collapsing.

When Sonic is gone, everyone carries on trying to stop the war without him, but also everyone looked up to him and they're devastated. They don't let it get in the way of fighting, but they're also fearing the worst and that Sonic may be dead. This is why I want them to not find out Sonic's alive as soon as they start thinking he was killed- they need to realize they've been too dependent on Sonic when they're perfectly capable of fighting on their own. Meanwhile, Sonic isn't capable of fighting on his own (at least not when he's this weak), and has to pray someone can save him.

I want to parallel this with Infinite and his Jackal Squad too. Infinite thinks everyone abandoned him, and wants to save himself. Meanwhile, the Jackal Squad doesn't have any idea what happened to Infinite, so they also have to realize that they're too dependent on him and can fight for themselves.

SO SONIC FORCES!!!

Always thought it was interesting. I don’t actually think I heard anything about the game before buying it, I just knew that it was a Sonic game. yippee!!!

Immediately after my initial whimsy wore off I started treating it like all my favorite media: a project to be rewritten to my liking. That was maybe five years ago, when I was gung-ho on the angst factor of the story above the Sonic factor.

After watching through the game’s Japanese dub and realizing the simple differences in word choice single-handedly enhanced the story, I started rewriting it AGAIN…. Here’s some of that <3

I’ve drawn Sonic after escaping Eggman “giving him hell,” and NOT after torture (I want to know the translator/script writer who thought that was a good idea, by the way), worse for wear, but excited to be free and stick it to the Freaks who thought they could kept him locked up and take over the world.

After Sonic narrowly escapes the Death Egg in the Slow-Down Shoes (you can clap) and finds Gadget (or “Buddy”) they head to the Arsenal Pyramid… after a change of shoes and a bite to eat, of course.

Sonic continues through the game in a set of spare shoes which make his in-game boost gauge deplete faster. His shoes, as well as his fatigue, keep him from winning out, leading to his partial-victory against Infinite, and landing him and Silver on the sidelines. Gadget takes on missions with other resistance members at his side while Sonic recuperates with Silver.

Tails hears the news Sonic is alive and quickly arrives to the HQ to reunite with his brother. He supplies Sonic with a pair of his iconic shoes, an extra set from the supplies he was able to grab before Eggman took over his labs. Officially recuperated enough, by his standards, Sonic and Tails are officially back in it and ready to get back to the fight.

You know… I don’t think I’ve ever shared my “rewrites” anywhere but with my friends. Sometimes it gets so complicated in my head it makes it really hard to get everything on paper. A lot of my “Forces rewrite” is handing the characters differently and how that changes the story.

In general, Forces is a… fine enough idea, but SEGA has a reputation for floundering good ideas and for forgetting you can appeal to a young audience while also allowing older kids to enjoy it without making a flat story.

Hearing the difference of “they’ve been torturing Sonic,” (ENG.) and “they’ve been giving him hell,” (JAP.) and “Tails has lost it,” (ENG.), “Tails is still missing,” (JAP.) I realized a lot of what I didn’t like- what I was rewriting- was the tone. It’s one of Force’s biggest issues: it doesn’t know what it wants to be. The Japanese dub seems to have an idea, but that can’t save it from the fact Infinite is A Big Loser and Sonic actually has no reason to be afraid of him, especially if Infinite wasn’t present during his time on the Death Egg… So I’m doing it myself

Paramount Stars AU takes place within the Sonic Cinematic Universe. It is an Actors AU, so Sonic and Shadow are actors in Paramount Stars studios making the movies. They are both traumatised(tm) and transgender. Sonic met Shadow before the filming for Sonic 3 started and invited Shadow to join the movie. Over the two years of the movie production, Sonic and Shadow held feelings for each other before confessing on the night of the trailer release and becoming an official couple after the premier. Sonic Rewritten AU takes place within the Modern Timeline, which are the games and IDW comics. It diverts from the canon after SA2, where Sonic and Shadow fell in love at first sight and was unofficially married by Dr. Eggman (they were out of options, okay?) during the Finalhazard fight. The rest of the timeline proceeds virtually unchanged, except for Sonic and Shadow being husbands (and more relationships beginning as well, because time actually passes here). However, the "canon" part of the timeline ends after the Metal Virus, and the rest of the AU largely follows the adventures of Sonic and Shadow's daughters, Hope and Light, and their friends (other fankids). Highschool Sweethearts AU is self-explanatory. Sonic and Shadow are high school students at Emerald Academy, in Emerald Town who became boyfriends. Shadow moved to Emerald Academy from Central City Westopolis district, due to being harrassed and discriminated against because he was trans, and met Sonic on basically his first day at his new school. They got off to a rocky start but eventually became a couple by the end of Year 10 and are still dating well into their senior years - 11 and 12. This AU is largely a coping mechanism for my school life (and it is also very Australian High School themed) and will continue into an University AU. There isn't much content for it but im happy to talk about it.

Heaven and Hell AU is an AU where Sonic is a High Seraph from Heaven (heir to the throne) and Shadow was a demon, whose powers were unlocked by Black Doom during Shadow Generations (also heir to the throne - of HELL >:3). It begins when Sonic, formerly named Caelus, leaves Heaven because he felt unwelcome and bored there and found himself on Earth, during the time of the Ancients (from Frontiers). He helped them build their colonies and civilizations on the Starfall Islands and became a being of worship for them, but was ultimately forced into hiding by the Ancients as they wanted to protect him from The End. Sonic remains on the planet and survives through the rise and fall of empires and into the modern world. He earned his name after defeating Eggman for the very first time and has since taken on the title of Hero of the World and Seraph of the People. Shadow's story still stays true to the canon, but he discovers his demon lineage. Sonic and Shadow, both being divine beings, worked together to live in secret and their relationship started there. Their designs are on my blog somewhere, you'll find them lmao.

Shattered AU, like mentioned, is a Sonic Prime AU where there are different Sonic and Shadows in the Shatter Spaces. In New Yoke; Sonic is Solo and Shadow is Android. In Boscage; Sonic is Paradise and Shadow is Hawthorn. In No-Place; Sonic is Goldheart and Shadow is Darkquill. Each of the Shattered Sonic and Shadows reflect a milestone in Sonic and Shadow's relationship; New Yoke = Enemies, Boscage = Friends/Rivals and No-Place = Romantic. More info about each of the Sonic and Shadows can be viewed on THIS google doc file.

One Week AU, like mentioned, is a King Shadow x Jester Sonic AU. It is a fanfic that is currently being written, where Shadow and Sonic fall in love in One Week (hehe). You'll be able to read it on AO3 once its out!

The Litter AU, or simply, The Litter, is a timeline where Shadow and Sonic have 8 daughters. Hope and Light from the Rewritten AU was reused for this. The daughters, from oldest to youngest, are: Hope, Light, Faith, Life, Lavender, Sunflower, Iris and Hyacinth. They came in twins. Reference sheets are currently being designed and can be viewed once I post them!

Overcast AU is a Sonic and Rain-World crossover AU, with a post-apocalyptic theme. The environment, world and lore is similar to Rain World, but instead of slugcats, we have feral mobians. Shadow is from the human cities, above the clouds, and Sonic is a hedgehog surviving on the rain ravaged surface. Shadow escaped and fell to the surface, where he was rescued by Sonic and they would go on to become mates. You can read the first instalments to this AU on AO3!!

Delta's Log:

It's been 6 months since we took this old Empire prison from Robotnik's clutches. There's still a lot I'm getting used to, but I'll manage.

The leader of the Vixens, Miles, has been having me scour the surrounding areas for anything that could be used as a weapon. Our objective is to destroy The Empire at all costs.

Even still. There's some part of me that is feeling... something. Pity? Anger? I don't know. But I've seen Miles working away at all hours. It's understandable with what he went through.

Shortly after all of Sonic's friends got captured, he had to hide in the city for weeks, avoiding empire detection. After he'd finally escaped the city, he found his original lab destroyed.

Since then, he's been working on building up an arsenal to attack the Empire.

The reason we've set up base in this prison is so the materials inside could be used to make further improvements. But there's something else.

In the lower levels lies a locked door. There's no latch, nor a way to open it as we currently see it. Whatever's in there... it's obvious it's been there for years, even before this whole war.

The writing on the door is too faded for even me to decipher it, so I wouldn't be surprised if Robotnik forgot about it.

But whatever is in there, it could possess the power to put an end to this war...

Or destroy the world as we know it.

Commander's Log: Old Allies Pt2

It had only been about two months into the war before we received word of an escapee from the Empire. Swiftly tracking what signs were left for us, we eventually managed to find Espio, who'd escaped a prison he and several others were being held in.

He was able to inform us about where he'd been imprisoned, and also about who else was there with him.

Mounting our offenses, we quickly stormed the base to see if we'd be able to rescue anyone else, but it seemed that those who'd been deemed 'more valuable' had already been transported to another location.

But we were still able to rescue several mobians from captivity, including Charmy Bee, one of the members of the Chaotix alongside Espio.

Bringing them back to Angel Island, Espio explained what information he was able to gather during his prison stint. After healing, he was officially made the Capitan of Special Operations, and heads most stealth operations into enemy territory.

Meanwhile, Charmy mostly stays at the base and hangs out with some of the younger members, including Cream.

There were also several other mobians captured who've decided to help the Resistance in ways they can, some of whom I'll cover in the next update.

Honestly in whichever au u wanna ramble about im just curious how you have her characterized and her role!

I'm actually gonna talk about my main AU Amy bc she's the most planned I have and tbh it's so hard to characterize her. I'm just gonna ramble about what I have bc her personality is not cemented *cries*

So! Amy is introduced in CD as this quirky fortune teller girl. She uses tarots and time stones to predict people's futures. Metal Sonic kidnaps her so she can help him find the rest of the time stones, and she eventually helps Sonic beat Metal by helping him predict Metals movements by using the Time Stones. Gives her some foresight. After that, since Sonic is just around for the New Year's celebration, Amy shows him around so he can immerse in the culture. Amy's infatuated, but still genuinely fond of Sonic.

Amy comes back in Advance 2, when Cream (who she was babysitting) got kidnapped. She tries to help with her new hammer, but it gets broken and she's unable to continue fighting alongside Sonic, but she's not giving up. Her and Sonic become more like friends. (Start of her character arc)

Then Riders, where she's Sonic & Tails' teammate! I don't have many specific plans for this tho

SA2 does be SA2, still haven't rewritten in detail. Probably characters casting Amy aside only for her stubbornness to make her put herself in harms way (just to be the one who SAVES THE DAY. twice?)

She's besties w Gamma & Cream in heroes but idk the plot

Skip to 06, she's a very good moraled character for Silver to learn from. She's the one who makes Silver realize that Mephiles is using him. Amy ALMOST DIES but Silver helps her get away. Amy still wants to help Silver, but Silver doesn't want her too because it's too risky for her. He doesn't want her to get hurt.

Another skip to Unleashed. Amy wants to help out, but she's constantly brushed aside because this is serious. Amy gets upset, and ends up being corrupted by Dark Gaia (would be a boss in game lol). Once Sonic defeats her, she breaks down, feeling awful for hurting him and getting in his way. She just wanted to be strong, she just wanted to help. She apologizes for being weak. Not even Dark Gaia could make her stronger. Sonic just hugs her, telling her she never needed to be strong physically. Her passion and kindness were always her strength. This is the end of her character arc! But she helps Sonic fight off dark Gaia minions since she's able to now! (Lil dark Gaia residue allows her to be able to do it)

Then another skip to Forces! She's one of the leaders to the resistance, but that's because she's good at encouraging people. She's moral support, so people want to listen to her! She's also takes care of Tails bc Tails doesn't take care of himself.

Basically, stubborn, passionate, and kind. She had an infatuation with Sonic that became genuine feelings over time. She has a crush on him, but that's not the point of her story, hence not needing mention. She just wants to help.

In a nutshell, what if Sonic was The Master Emerald? We get Dark Sonic back and also, I am obsessed with werehog, so we get a redo of that as well as every single arc rewritten, for the most part (there's some I don't have enough knowledge about some of the spin off games heheo). There's a lot of themes of generational trauma, self-worth, losing the sense of yourself and finding it again, etc.

"Origins" segment

Spikes Toodlerhood arc.

- Basically spikes being raised by Tikal and creatures of Angel Island. Tikal seals herself and Chaos in a pond next in Spikes' birthplace.

Ecoterrorism arc.

- Basically the events of Origins. Spikes gets civilized by Miles and Ames. Spikes meets Knux and then Ignis.

House arrest arc.

- SA 1 happens and Spikes feels forced to stay in Angel Island after being revealed to him that Dark Spikes is a thing. He spends the time there training his ass off with Knux. Predictably so, Spikes doesnt like staying in one place, so he and Miles sneak off to mainland, which is where he meets the babylon rogues for the first time.

- SA2 happens. Shade <3

- Sonic heroes happens. Spikes is super excited to have Shade back, he tries to bond with him... Pretty succesfully so.

"Godhood" segment

Speeding ticket arc

- This is basically the Sonjet, or how I like to call em, Speeding Ticket arc. Funnily enough, this is also where Spikes begins to realize he's aroace but not yet. I havent changed a lot bc I rlly like the riders games.

Dimensional travels arc.

- This is where all the weird shit happens with Rings and Black Knight. And also Snoutman. Snoutman is canon to the Heart of Chaos universe. Black Knight is the most focused on, it's more of an open world game, but in the same way frontiers is.

S2HT arc.

- ShTH happens. Eclipse The Darkling is in ShTH events and is presumed dead by the end of it. Sonic 06 happens and we discover what happens when The Master Emerald itself dies. There is Sonalise, this is where Spikes fully realizes he's aroace and only experiences queerplatonic attraction.

Sonic Colors happens after Sonic 06 and is where Spikes has is birthday.

"Happy birthday" segment.

Werehog arc.

- This is A Lot, but basically this is the arc where Spikes is given a wake up call and slap down to his ego. This arc is pretty grim, but it has a lot of good moments too. It spans for more than a couple months while they try to fix Mobius again.

Generations arc.

- After losing Chip and going through the horrors, Spikes begins travelling a lot and finding comfort in his friendnship with Shade. Then crazy shit starts happening, there is no classic spikes or anything, but Mephiles does come back as the Time Eater. More Sonelise and Milkshake moments and actually also Shadlise, YEAH YOU DIDNT SEE THAT COMIN DID YA-

Forces arc.

- Oh god. Well, lets start at the beginning. This is where my oc Patch The Painted Dog, "Sky's Spark", gets introduced. With him there is oc x canon with Howlite (Silver). He's also childhood friends with Tangle and Jewel. We also half meet Whisper during this arc.

- Spikes gets kidnapped by Infinite to power Eggmans invasion with Spikes' chaos energy aka, his life source. Spike is kept chained and restrained without the abiity to move his arms and legs for the majority of his stay there, so much that he loses the ability to walk which he realizes once he's being rescued. This is also where the frienemy-eggdad situation completely breaks as we learn that Spikes is inmortal, because Eggman attempts to kill him when he realizes that he doesn't need his power anymore and he can just create more Phantom Rubies to power his war.

- Pretty much the whole tone switches. During the war, a lot of the characters are forced to grow up, like Ames and Miles. Miles has almost a complete 180 from the cheerful kid he was before as he takes an important role in the war as the one who arms The Resistance. Knux basically makes him man up.

"Humbled" segment.

Post-war arc.

- Basically physical therapy arc for Spikes, he had to rush this slow progress for the sake of the war.

- We meet Whisper fully. Spikes and Whisper ond over being traumatized by war so much so that they feel they are no longer themselves.

- Mr. Tinker is a thing and Spikes has to deal with that. He ends up leaving Shade and The Chaotix on charge of watching him.

- Metal kidnaps Spikes bc he wants his awful dad back. She ends up running off after she realizes Eggman is gone.

- Starline happens.

Zombot arc.

- Pain, pain and pain! Spikes is not coping with this well at all. This arc is grim as hell. Shade sacrifices himself to save the few refuges left + Team Dark, he's one of the first ones gone. Spikes doesnt have his emotional attack dog anymore and he's always so close to losing it.

Milkshake & Co arc.

- Shade is back and now Spikes is codependent /j, he finally gets properly taught how to use his chaos energy in a productive way as well as help manage it.

- We meet Maple The Sable and Oakley The Opposum. Maple has a oc x canon going on with Cream!

Surge arc.

- Spikes gets a break? Too bad, let's break his peace. Starline's back.

- I dont have a lot written but basically, Surge and Kit are around for about 4-5 months. Starline gets fried and drowned by Surge and Kit before escaping.

- Surge and Kit are out to get Spikes & Miles.

- Kit and Miles do get in a fight. Kit loses, miserably.

- Surge is pissed the fuck off about it bc they kidnapped drippy and she's alone...with her thoughts.

- She attacks Spikes at night after following him, planning to kill him. They get in a fight, Surge "kills" Spikes but he's able to finish her in his Shattered form. She's dead for a while before she wakes up again.

- She tries killing Miles and Spikes again, Shade is fed up with her shit for trying to kill his weirdo and atom bombs her pretty much. Now she's gone forever.

- Kit and Miles actually do bond.

Generational trauma arc. - Knux and Spikes' beef finally hits the fan. Knux has been stressing about Spikes being almost killed again and he's just been being the worst pretty much. Spikes and Knux fight each other like dogs.
