RESIDENT EVIL → THE WESKER FAMILY
To the public, little is known of the families behind some of the world’s most renowned bioterrorists, but the question remains: did they play a role in causing their children to walk down the path that they did? Or are these individuals simply ambitious criminals with delusions of grandeur?
Tumblr media
For Diana Wesker (née Afanasyeva), her introduction into the bioweapons black market trade was upon discovering her employers were using her research into limb regeneration with salamanders to further their experiments in creating enhanced soldiers, instead of developing human therapies with which she was recruited for. Although the prospect of using biological weapons in the military did not appeal to her, the concept remained fascinating for her own selfish endeavours. Born on the 27th of October, 1963 in Sydney, Australia to Russian immigrant parents, Diana had harsh expectations placed upon her at a young age, ones that no matter how hard she tried she could never live up to. Her mother, Tatyana, was an unfeeling woman, absent for long stretches of time with little regard to how it affected her daughters, much more concerned with her craft as an accomplished opera singer. Viktor was no better. A strict man whose role as father and ballet master blurred, he pushed his girls to one day follow in his footsteps. Whilst Sofia enjoyed ballet, and went on to become a professional ballet dancer, Diana’s heart was set on going into the field of biology. She wished to make a name for herself, separate from her family – to which she succeeded.
Diana was married to former U.S. Marine, Dave Monroe, for only a year until he was declared dead in 1992 after succumbing to injuries sustained in a horrific car accident. Foul play was ruled out while Diana played the role of the grief-stricken widow, but in reality, she had snapped after years of mistreatment at her husband’s hands, and opted for something she could pass off as an accident to be free of him. For years she believed he was dead – and he was, legally – but that proved to not be the case when he found his way back into her life again in 1999. Unbeknownst to her, she had been lied to by the police and coroner, who were paid off by her employers when they took Dave’s body for themselves and used him as one of their first test subjects in developing supersoldiers. Before he could ever hurt her again, Diana’s second husband, Albert Wesker, tracked the man down, captured him and tortured him, before allowing Diana to get her violent and bloody revenge.
The origins of Albert Wesker’s involvement in bioterrorism, alongside his twin sister, Alex, are much different than that of Diana’s. The two hail from London, Canada, but unfortunately, they hold no memories of their lives there, nor what happened to their biological parents when they were eight years old. Agents of Oswell E. Spencer, an aristocratic billionaire and eugenicist, took the twins from their home and executed their parents as per Spencer’s orders. Albert and Alex were then placed in a home funded by the Spencer Foundation where they were given new names and a privileged upbringing. They had access to the best education possible, free to pursue whichever field they decided, but it was by no accident they both went into virology and bioengineering; at home, their adoptive parents – agents whom they believed to be their real parents – instilled them with the beliefs of Oswell E. Spencer, harbouring disdain for war and pestilence, and believing humans to be an evolutionary dead-end in need of a rebirth. They were only two of the hundreds of children “adopted” as part of what is known as Project W, a plan intended to develop an advanced race of human beings. The most promising candidates were headhunted by Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, the twins amongst them, where they went on to create bioweapons for the company founded by none other than the man who had handpicked them for his plan. The final stage of this was to infect the thirteen Spencer saw fit, however, only two survived; Albert received the intended effects, now possessing superhuman abilities, however, Alex was only offered more time to live due to her terminal degenerative illness.
In the summer of 1995, Diana was working undercover within Umbrella to gather development data on their projects for her company. Here, she had a chance encounter with Albert, an intelligence officer at the time, which permanently altered the course of her life. The two were never seen far from one another’s side, marrying in 1998, and they went on to become notorious in the bioweapons industry. The development of the Uroboros virus was where things took a turn for the worst. Although Diana’s infection was successful and she bore abilities that rivalled her husband’s, the plan itself did not succeed as they had hoped, and almost cost Albert his life at the hands of his former subordinates.
Now, they work within the shadows, with Diana declared missing and Albert believed to be dead. Their legacy, however, lives on with the mark they left on the world. As visionaries in their field, they influenced bioterror attacks carried out by countless individuals and organisations. In turn, they also inspired others to fight against such atrocities. One such person happens to be Albert’s son from a former relationship, Jake Müller, whose existence he was unaware of.

nesting mode- s.r x fem!reader
You giggled softly, one hand resting protectively over your growing bump as you watched Spencer struggle with the crib assembly. He was surrounded by a chaotic sea of crib parts, the manual awkwardly draped over his knee as he tried to fit two stubborn pieces together.
“We’ve lived here for, what, seven years,” you said with a teasing smile, “and we never bought a drill?”
Spencer looked up at you with a sheepish grin, then glanced around at the scattered tools. “Or a second screwdriver,” he added, his tone a mix of frustration and amusement.
You settled on the couch with a groan, sliding to the floor with a soft thud. You wanted to help him, but with one dull screwdriver that took over an hour to find and the large bump that barely let you breathe, it was hard.
“What about your sonic screwdriver?” You asked.
Spencer paused, then sighed in defeat. “It’s not actually functional,” he admitted, tossing the uncooperative crib pieces aside. Noticing the wide grin spreading across your face, he raised an eyebrow. “What?”
“You spent ninety dollars on an authentic sonic screwdriver, and it doesn’t even work?” you teased, laughter bubbling up as you shook your head in disbelief.
“I realize now that it probably wasn’t the best purchase,” Spencer replied, the corners of his mouth quirking up as he joined in your laughter, the frustration of the moment melting away.
Spencer sighed, moving the stubborn crib pieces and crawling over to you. He knelt beside you, leaning over your bump with a gentle smile. His hand moved soothingly over the curve of your belly, his touch light and tender.
“Well,” he began, speaking directly to your growing twins, “it looks like you two might just have to sleep in a sock drawer for a while.”
You laughed softly, your hand covering his as he continued to rub your belly. “A sock drawer, huh? That’s what you think our babies deserve?”
Spencer chuckled, leaning down to press a kiss on your bump. “Only the best for them,” he said, his voice filled with affection. “We’ll just have to make do until their dad figures out how to assemble a crib without any power tools.”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “Maybe we should call Derek. I’m sure he has a drill. Probably a whole toolbox, actually.”
Spencer feigned a pout. “You’re really going to call Derek to bail us out? This is going to be like the bookshelf disaster all over again."
You laughed, remembering the event all too well. "Disaster is putting it mildly. It took you, me, and Derek a whole weekend to get that thing standing, but it kept him humble." You grinned, threading your fingers through his hair. “I just want to make sure our babies don’t end up in a sock drawer, that’s all.”
Spencer smiled, his eyes soft as he looked up at you. “Fair point,” he conceded, resting his head on your bump. “But for now, they’re doing just fine in there.”
You hummed in agreement, your hand still gently rubbing his back. “Yeah, they are.”
But then, a sigh escaped your lips, and you couldn’t help but voice the thought that had been lingering in your mind. “I’m so tired of being pregnant, though,” you admitted with a small chuckle. “I feel like I’ve been carrying them forever.”
Spencer looked up at you, concern flickering in his eyes. “You’ve been amazing through all of this,” he said, his voice full of admiration. “But I know it’s been tough.”
You nodded, feeling a mix of exhaustion and determination. “It has been,” you agreed. “But at the same time, I feel... good. Like, I’m ready to meet them, but I’m also so protective of them. I want to make sure everything’s perfect before they get here.”
Spencer reached up, his hand covering yours on your bump. “They’re lucky to have you,” he whispered. “And so am I.”
You smiled down at him, feeling a surge of warmth and love. “We’re a team, Spencer. All four of us.”
The two of you stayed like that for a while, basking in the quiet intimacy of the moment, the half-assembled crib forgotten as you both focused on the tiny lives growing inside you, one of them currently trying to kick their father in the head. After a few more moments of peaceful quiet, Spencer sighed and stood up, brushing off his pants.
“Alright,” he said with a determined smile. “I think it’s clear we need to make a trip to the hardware store.”
He gathered his keys from the coffee table and began slipping on his socks, clearly intent on getting this crib situation sorted. As he was about to put on his shoes, you called out to him.
“Spencer?”
He turned back to you, a gentle smile on his face. “Yeah?"
You raised your hands towards him, giving him a sheepish look. “I need you to help me off the ground.”
Spencer chuckled softly, setting his shoes aside and walking back over to you. He reached down, taking your hands in his and gently pulling you up. As you got to your feet, he wrapped his arm around your waist to steady you.
“You okay?” he asked, concern lacing his voice as he watched you carefully.
You nodded, giving him a grateful smile. “Yeah, just… not as easy getting up as it used to be.”
Spencer grinned, leaning in to press a quick kiss to your forehead. “Well, you’re carrying two future geniuses, so I think you’re doing pretty amazing.”
You laughed, resting your hand on his chest for balance. “Flattery will get you everywhere, Dr. Reid.”
He chuckled, guiding you towards the door. “In that case, let’s go get those tools. We’ve got a crib to finish.”
-
When you got home, Spencer carefully unpacked the new drill from its box, setting it up on the charger. He read the instructions, a habit of his, and then turned to you with a mischievous grin. “The drill should take about an hour to fully charge,” he said, his voice dipping slightly, eyes glinting with a hint of something more. “That gives us plenty of time to, you know… do other things.”
You raised an eyebrow, entirely missing the suggestive tone in his voice. “Oh, perfect!” you said, already shifting into a more practical mindset. “We still need to rearrange the books in the study. You could start with that while I go through the mail. I’ve been waiting for a letter from my penpal. And after that, maybe we could finally sort through that pile of clothes for donation?”
Spencer blinked, momentarily thrown off by your unintentional deflection. He let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head as he realized you hadn’t caught onto his intentions. “Yeah,” he said with a light laugh, “I guess I could do that.”
You nodded, already mentally planning out the rest of the afternoon. “Great! The sooner we get those things done, the sooner we can get back to the nursery.”
Spencer smiled, watching you bustle around the room, completely oblivious to his original suggestion. “You really know how to keep me on my toes, don’t you?”
You turned to him with a sweet smile, still not quite catching on. “Of course! We’ve got a lot to prepare for.”
Spencer shook his head again, amused but not deterred. “Alright,” he said, moving towards the study, “I’ll get started on those books.”
As he walked away, he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself. Maybe he’d try again later, when the drill was fully charged and the tasks were done—if you didn’t find something else to occupy your time.

father’s and mother’s day | s.r. x pregnant!fem reader
“happy father’s day!” annabeth came rushing into your bedroom causing you and spencer to flinch from the loud noise. you felt her scramble into the bed on spencer side, turning your head you saw how she cling to him.
spencer groaned, “thank you my love bug. you’re just as special since you granted me that title. i’d still be doctor spencer reid if you did come along.” he planted loving kisses along her chubby face. her high pitched giggles filled your heart.
“and what a shame that title would be,” you joked as you eyes the two. you looked down at your soon to be popped belly, “say hi to daddy.”
there was a kick and you quickly grab from spencer’s hand so he could feel the twins morning cheer. “hi charlotte and matthew, a great father’s day surprise was finding out there was two of you in there. mommy’s kinda glad we were able to get two kids in one, less work to be done.”
“but more pain for me,” poking a finger into his shoulder teasingly. spencer kissed at you stretched stomach, talking to both of them for a minute as your fingers carded through his hair and annabeth placed a hand beside his larger one to feel the kicks.
“does it hurt?” she asked you, her eyes wide and the same as spencer’s.
“a bit. they have to squeeze between my own organs, that’s why i need to pee a lot. my bladder is a victim to growing babes.” your free hand caressed at your daughters cheek, “you were such a good girl. you only kicked a few times then stopped, and sometimes you kicked when either of us talked directly to you. that’s why you know us so well already, we’ve been talking long before you came to earth.”
spencer moved to sit beside you, he planted a morning kiss upon your cheek. “did you know ties are the most common gift on father’s day? especially the best dad ones.”
“we got you one!” annabeth announced. spencer appeared shocked, “really! do i deserve the title of best dad though?”
annabeth stood to her feet, her legs wobbling with the mattress as she carried herself to spencer and threw her arms around his shoulders. “yes! yes! bestest dad in the universe!”
“the bravest and sweetest dad alive,” you added along.
-
a/n: i just threw this together in thirty minutes after waking up. happy father’s day.

Magnum Opus (Ch. 1)
Tumblr media
When an MIT prodigy on their gap year is contacted by the FBI regarding her potential involvement in a series of murders in Washington D.C., she must now cooperate to uncover how her paintings are mysteriously appearing at the crime scenes.
(Written with Season 1-4 Spencer in mind, but the timeline could be anywhere pre-season 12. No mentions of past cases)
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Artist! reader|cw: Canon-typical violence|word count: 2k words

Series Masterlist
While Aaron Hotchner remained vigilant as he drove the black SUV, the constant flipping of Spencer’s case files seemed to be louder than the car’s air conditioning.
He had directed Morgan and JJ to touch base at the MPDC, and had Rossi and Prentiss survey the crime scene of Jonathan Edwards; the identity of the previously unknown man in the vacant apartment.
This left him with Reid in the passenger seat to conduct an investigation on their only lead so far.
From the update Garicia had given them, Y/n L/n was a prodigy a year younger than their very own. Having graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology a year ago, she moved to Capitol Park Plaza and Twins Apartments in Washington D.C., and is currently unemployed. Occasionally selling her paintings out of her unit under an anagram of her name.
 But something bothered him.
And it seems like Reid has picked up on it too.
“Do you think Dr. L/n is the unsub?” The unit chief asks.
Spencer hums before answering.
“While we can’t rule it out just yet, the possibility of her being the unsub is totally unlikely. The thing that’s throwing me off is that everything is too convenient. I mean, why would the unsub use something so publicly personal to them as part of their signature? It’s as if she’s overtly incriminating herself.”
Spencer checks back onto the pictures of the victims, then lifts his head up to look at Hotch to continue.
“Based on the way the victims are modeled, an immense amount of care was put into them. All for the purpose of making them look like the subjects in their paintings. Actually, the fixation on changing the bodies’ posture and keeping them clean is typically done out of remorse. But the added elements, like the placement of the paintings, creates an image of an unsub more on the narcissistic side. By creating two 'artworks,' they're prompting the viewer to decide which version of it they prefer. Mocking the original artist in the process.”
“So the paintings were done before the murder?”
“I have no reason to believe otherwise.”
His unit chief sighs and pulls over to the curb. “Well, we’re about to test that belief.” Spencer hurries to take off his seatbelt as Hotch closes the car door with a thud.
—------
Hotchner nods at Reid as they find themselves in front of the written address Garcia gave them. He lifts his hand to knock firmly on your door, and waits for a response.
A thud from the other side causes both of them to assess each other before Hotch tells Spencer to stay behind him. Gun in hand until something, or someone, comes running at them.
But instead a muffled, “sorry” is heard right after, which causes him to lower his gun.
The door finally opens a crack to reveal a very tired twenty-something woman, some dark pigment or makeup smudged on their lower eye lines as they rubbed at it. She immediately fixed her posture however at the sight of the unexpected visitors. Eyes wide with concern.
“Dr. L/n, I’m Aaron Hotchner with Dr. Spencer Reid of the FBI.” He highlights his statement by showing his badge. “We’d like to ask you some questions.”
“Oh, um,” The woman blinks rapidly and shakes their head before immediately saying, “Of course,” with a nod and opening the door wide to let them in.
A quirk that does not go unnoticed by Spencer, who observes how different she looks to her more formal ID photos.
—-----
You let the FBI agents into your apartment, but are now suddenly aware of the state of disarray you left it in last night. Not to mention the state you were in.
You had just woken up and your brain wasn’t quite all there yet. If you had known you’d have guests over, you would have at least put some of your books and papers back onto their shelves rather than on your floor.
“My, uh—” You start, “Apologies! For the room and the um,”
You inhale deeply and gesture to yourself as you try to find the words before settling on an exasperated, “me.”
“No worries, miss. We don’t really call in advance.” You nod at the older man’s explanation vacantly before coming up with a response.
“Would you like anything to drink ?” You move to your fridge to get water to wake you up, and decide that it would be rude not to offer. The two decline, with the younger more busy observing your living room bookcase than the older one that sat on your couch.
You notice that something must have interested him as he lingers on certain shelves. That section in particular had prints of dissertations you had been meaning to read, or have already read, in clear folders.
You wonder if he found his work there or something before returning with water for yourself.
“So what can I help you with?”
“Dr. L/n, are you aware of the current string of murders that have been happening as of this year?”
You blink rapidly again. The question catches you off guard, but you shake your head.
“I know it’s a bad habit, and that I should, but I don’t really listen to the news.” Feeling your eyebrows quirk, you rub your hands together slowly. Making direct eye contact with Hotch, before looking at the younger man as he takes out a few papers from the folder he was holding.
“Are you familiar with these paintings then?”
 Now that piques your interest.
Dr. Spencer Reid, who sees a flicker of recognition in your eyes when it meets his own, presents various pictures of your artworks in what seems to be dimly lit areas. They’re a little dirty, but otherwise you would recognize them as your own.
 The thought instantly made something in your stomach turn.
“I–” You start, but shake your head subtly again. Unsure of what to say and how to say it next as you stare at the images. “am.” You turn your head to look back up at Spencer who nods thoughtfully.
“Recently, your paintings have been showing up at crime scenes in the D.C. area. Specifically, victims of an organized unsub that seems to be targeting people who accurately resemble the subjects in your work.” If your eyes weren’t wide enough, that bit of information had certainly opened them wider than ever before as you stared up at him.
“That, combined with the concentrated traces of 5-durastalene found in the pigments of the paint used, have led us to suspect your involvement in these murders, Dr. L/n.” You heavily feel the blink of your eyelids and rest your fingers on them to keep them closed before looking back at the two of them.
“I’m sorry,” you smile incredulously. “So you’re telling me that not only has Lunacite been identified on the paintings you’ve found, but that people who look like the personas in my private works actually exist and have since been–” You pinch the bridge of your nose. “Murdered?”
“Well that shouldn’t come as a surprise, they were your muses, weren’t they? You were commissioned?” Hotch is the one who asks and you shake your head with wide eyes.
“I didn’t even know these people existed. They were just– faces I came up with mentally with the visual library I’ve amassed over the years. I don’t really make it a habit to paint from reference. Like I said, they were private.”
“And the chemical?” You thought for a moment before your lips thinned into a line.
“I don’t know what to tell you, Agent Hotchner, but I haven’t touched anything regarding that compound in over a year. I’ve only ever worked on it in my lab on university grounds, and I don’t make a habit of bringing work home.” You scratch the hairs near the base of your hairline.
“More importantly, hundreds of students and lecturers have access to my work, my research, and my lab space. Not to mention the people who might have heard my work through academic conferences.”
You move away from your position near the living room coffee table Spencer placed the pictures on, but picked up one before you did and shook your head.
“Besides, these paintings? No one should know about them, let alone have them. I didn't sell these.” That made Spencer’s brows furrow as he looked at the other photos still on the table.
“Do you have proof?” You stay silent, but then motion for them to follow you to the door of your room.
“Well, for one, I’m sure you’d understand that most people don’t make copies of their artwork traditionally, right? Expenditure of time, work materials, effort, human error, and many other variables. It just isn’t practical nor convenient.” You ramble and look back at them to continue.
“I also don’t make the majority of my art known online. Only a good 30% makes its way to my portfolio, and the others are never to be seen by anyone else.”
“They're studies. They’re made with cheap paints, they’re subjectively not appropriate for commercial use and-–I just wouldn’t be comfortable charging anyone for them.”
They follow you across the room, and make themselves apparent behind you.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding.
“So if my ‘commissioned paintings’ are currently on D.C. crime scenes, and possibly in MPDC evidence,” You open the door to reveal your studio to the two agents.
Various paint tubes, books, and brushes littered the floor, table, and boxes. A lone easel was situated near your apartment window, with an unfinished painting on it. And various canvasses, not displayed, but instead kept on tall shelves. Only the differently colored edges indicated that they were ever used.
What surprised them both however, were the same paintings in the pictures staring back at them.
 Some on the walls, some on the floor, but what was most important was that they were in this room, they were clean, and there were more of them.
You turn to look back at them with shaky eyes. “So why are they still here?”
—----
Hotch and Reid stood outside of your apartment door as you cleaned yourself up. Hotch made the call to bring you to the precinct for further investigation and for your own safety, but allowed you to freshen up before leaving with them. Not that he told you about the safety part.
You were hard to read, given your erratic reactions. It unnerved him, but he supposes it comes with the territory of being gifted. You also offered to bring in your paintings and a few other materials for forensics to test, to which while he was suspicious of, was not ungrateful for.
He made a quick call to Garcia to check attendants of any academic conferences you’ve spoken at and if anyone had been more interested than the others. When he was finished, he looked to Reid who was crossing his arms and staring at the carpeted hallway before looking back at him.
“She’s uncomfortable.” He stated plainly.
“Reid, most people would be if they just found out their hobby had been getting people killed.” Hotch said as he kept looking at his phone for anything new from the others.
“There’s certainly that, but I meant her title. ‘Doctor.’” He said in quotes, and Hotch raises his eyebrow at that but allows him to continue anyway with a curt nod.
“I mean, every time we’ve addressed her with her title, she blinks faster. Did you know it’s a common attribute that’s directly related to an increase in heart rate, which is why they’re usually correlated with lying? Initially, you would think that she faked her experience to get those credentials, but given her educational background, she must have not been given an opportunity to be referred to as such for a long time. Also, the gap year she took could’ve only exacerbated any insecurities she might have about her intellectual achievements. Plus, the lack of organization in her own home, while not wildly uncommon amongst people her age, could suggest the sincerity of her belief about compartmentalizing her work and her private life.”
“And what does that tell you?”
As Spencer was supposed to answer, a thud much like the one they heard before they entered earlier was heard again, followed by a similarly muffled, ‘sorry.’
He turns to look back at Hotch again with a small, victorious smile.
“That she doesn’t fit the profile.”

Easter Sunday
Tumblr media
a/n: in honor of my favorite holiday and favorite comfort character
Summary: A cute Easter brunch with the team and some Reid babies
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader (fluff)
Word Count: 3.0k
Masterlist | Navigation
The sun shining through the large double windows marks the perfect start to the day. The weather forecast has promised sunshine and higher-the-usual temperatures for the holiday weekend. Emily let the team have a five-day weekend as the BAU tradition has dictated for several years. Hotch originally started it, realizing, three months after Christmas, there was a need for family time.
For the Reid children, things look different now that their dad is home more. He has always been very present, but now he’s at more practices, doing drop-offs and pick-ups, and reading stories at bedtime. Still, their excitement for Easter has been growing, knowing it means uninterrupted time with all of their uncles and aunts.
“Good morning, gorgeous.” Spencer greets her from the doorway before she notices he’s not in bed next to her.
He hands her the mug she has every day, filled with perfectly made coffee. He’s the expert at that, so it’s his first task in the morning.
“Thank you, handsome.” She replies, adding to the thanks with a soft kiss on his lips. “It looks like a good day out there.” She notes as he draws the curtain open.
“It’s meant to be in the high 70s later.” He reports, probably having already skimmed the New York Times.
She grins, sipping her coffee. “Perfect for today.”
“We should host one time,” Spencer suggests.
Y/n chuckles softly, shaking her head. “Rossi would never go for it, and I thought you’d know better than to mess with tradition.”
He nods, knowing it’s true. “We’ll stick to summer barbeques and birthday parties since it’s the perfect house.”
It’s the type of house Spencer never really saw himself living in. Growing up, he lived comfortably, and thanks to the mortgage being paid off before his dad left, he continued living in a very middle-class area of suburban Las Vegas until he went to school.
California was more expensive, but between his multiple scholarships, he had enough money to feed himself, always be caffeinated, and live in a small apartment near Cal Tech. He didn’t see the need to spend every cent he had living somewhere fancier, and his mom’s treatment wasn’t fully covered, so he paid for that.
In DC, his place was simple. He didn’t need anything more than a one-bedroom apartment since he didn’t have family coming to stay, and without any student debt and a good-paying job, he had more money than he needed.
When they moved in together, it was to Y/n’s larger apartment that they eventually brought, and with two bedrooms, there was no need for anything huge until Matilda was old enough to sleep in her own room.
After learning they would have twins their second time, their quickly growing family needed much more space, so they brought their dream house. As much as he wanted it, Spencer never expected to have a family or a large home in the suburbs, but he does now, and every morning, he’s grateful for it.
“True.” Y/n agrees.
Spencer sits back on the bed next to her, and she throws her legs over his lap, wrapping her arms around his waist and nuzzling into his side as they enjoy a few minutes together in silence before the craziness of their day starts.
Gurgling on the baby monitor breaks the peace, and the video feed shows Mabel standing up and shaking the crib bars.
“I’ll go.” Spencer declares, shuffling away from her to get out of bed. “And I’ll get the twins changed.”
Y/n raises her eyebrows, looking impressed with what he’s promising to tackle. “Good luck.” She jokes, grinning at him as she also gets out of bed.
“I’ve got this.” He assures her. “Go shower and get dressed up.”
She’s not about to argue with it. Having a shower where she doesn’t get interrupted by little hands banging on the door asking for snacks or to change the TV channel would be a rarity.
Her new dress is perfect for Easter and spring, long and flowy white fabric with a blue floral pattern and a sweetheart neckline. It’ll look even better with some soft curls in her hair.
Spencer’s first stop is Mabel’s room. The door’s sign says her name, and the bedroom has cute flowers painted on the wall above the crib. “Hi, sweet baby.” He coos, reaching out for his youngest. She still wears her sleep sack to bed, and Spencer thinks it’s the cutest thing.
She squeals when she recognizes him, jumping adorably. “Daddy!” She yells in her sleepy voice.
He scoops her up, wrapping his arms around her and cuddling her tightly to his chest before kissing her forehead. “You know, I think you might be ready for a big girl’s bed soon.” He tells her.
Mabel rests her forehead against his. “Like Tilda?” She asks, eyes sparkling at the mention of her big sister.
“Just like Matilda and the twins, too.” He answers.
She pulls back from him quickly with excitement. “We go see them?”
“Let Daddy put your pretty dress on you first, and then we can see them.” He tells her. “If they’re awake.”
They are awake, he discovers when he finally finishes dressing Mabel. She runs ahead of Spencer and climbs the stairs without help to find the three of them in the living room.
“Hi, little people,” Spencer says, announcing himself to them.
They spin around from the TV, jumping up from where they’re sitting and rushing over to hug him. It’s one of his favorite sights when they get excited that their eyes shine upon seeing him, and one of the best feelings is how warm he feels when they race over and fling their arms around him. He has never felt as much love as he does now, yet somehow, it grows more each day.
“Daddy, it’s Easter!” Matilda cheers.
“I know.” He says. “Happy Easter.”
“Did the Easter bunny come?” Toby wonders.
Spencer nods. “Grandpa Rossi called to say he’d dropped off lots of chocolate eggs for all of you.” It’s a lie, technically, but it makes their faces light up all over again, so it’s worth it.
“Are the cousins coming?” Aspen wonders.
“Henry, Michael, Jake, David, Chloe, Lily, Rose, and Hank is as well,” Spencer lists the other BAU kids and former BAU kid, earning another round of cheers from his kids. “We need to get ready, though. Tillie, your dress is hanging in your wardrobe. Want me to help you, Aspen?”
She shakes her head. “No, I can get changed by myself.”
Independent as always, and something he should have anticipated. “Okay, upstairs and into dresses.” He instructs. “Then you can watch TV. T, you want daddy’s help getting ready?”
“Can you put gel in my hair?” Toby asks. “Mommy says that it looks handsome.”
Spencer chuckles at how cute his little boy is. “Sure, bud.” He agrees. “And it does make you look very handsome.”
It’s always a juggle with four kids, trying to get everyone dressed in time to go anywhere. Mabel can’t be left alone, so Spencer has to multitask between keeping her from running away to cause trouble while doing Toby’s hair and ensuring Aspen and Matilda haven’t gotten distracted.
“Look how handsome you look.” Y/n coos as she peers into the bathroom where Spencer’s finishing off Toby’s hair.
“Mommy!” He squeals, jumping off the stool and running over to hug her.
She hugs him back, careful not to ruin his hair. “Hey, bubba, did Daddy do your hair really nice?”
“Mhm.” He answers.
“You want help getting changed?” She offers, met by him shaking his head, following the independent streak of his older sisters. “Alright, get to it, Mister.” She instructs, sending him off to his room with a pat on the back. Spencer’s eyes stay fixed on her as she stands there, and he rests against the bathroom counter. “What?” She asks shyly.
He smiles softly at her. “Nothing.” He shakes his head. “It’s just you’re so pretty. I still can’t believe you’re my wife.”
Then Y/n is grinning dumbly, twirling in her dress for him to get the full 360 view. “I might marry you again if you keep being so sweet.”
“Then I’d be the luckiest guy in the world again.” He tells her, walking over and placing his hands on her waist. He just stands there looking at her, admiring every detail of her makeup.
“Stop.” She says, pushing his shoulder. “I love you, Spencer Reid.”
Spencer steals a kiss, careful not to mess up her pink lipstick. “I love you more, Y/n Reid.”
She shakes her head. “Impossible, but we should debate that later.” She decides. “We’ve got babies to get ready.”
“Yeah.” Spencer agrees. “It’s been oddly silent for a little too long.”
Thankfully, the silence wasn’t getting-into-mischief silence. Y/n takes over getting the kids ready while Spencer gets himself dressed, and impressively, they’re done five minutes early.
“How you do this every morning is a miracle to me.” He remarks as they make their way out the door.
“I’m just a super mom.” She jokes, but it’s the truth.
“You absolutely are.” Spencer agrees with her. “The best mom in the world.”
Car rides are possibly louder than being inside, thanks to the enclosed space, but Rossi’s house is only a few minutes drive, and they pull in behind JJ’s car.
The girls are in pretty pink dresses that’ll no doubt end up covered in grass stains, and Toby’s pastel blue shirt matches Spencer’s. In both Y/n and Spencer’s eyes, they’re the most beautiful children ever.
“Little Reids!” Penelope cheers as soon as they’re through Rossi’s wide-open front door. She’s crouched down to scoop them all up, wrapping them all in a tight hug, looking like the definition of sunshine in her yellow dress. “Aren’t you four just so perfect?” She asks rhetorically as she pulls back to look at them. They are, and their parents nod to answer her confession.
After answering a few of Penelope’s questions, they squirm away to run through the house and greet everyone else.
“And the perfect parents.” She greets them with hugs as well.
 Y/n chuckles onto her shoulder. “You look incredible, Pen.” She compliments.
“That’s you, Mrs. Reid.” She replies. “And you’re all matching, just the cutest family ever.”
Spencer grins, wrapping his arm around his wife’s shoulder. “We kind of are.” He agrees.
“Come on, come see everyone.” Penelope ushers them through the house, taking on the role of secondary host as she usually does at Rossi’s. She and Krystall tag-team the job.
Henry, Michael, Hank, Matilda, Toby, Aspen, and Mabel are waiting in the living room, their little faces pressed against the glass as they look out the big glass doors trying to spot the hidden easter eggs in the garden.
Everyone’s in their nice clothing, dresses and good shirts with jackets. It’s mostly BAU members Y/n often sees at Rossi’s, but Derek and Savannah have made the trip and quickly hug their old friends.
“Look at you, mama,” Derek remarks. “You’re as gorgeous as ever.”
“And you’re as flattering as ever.” She jokes, nudging his shoulder. “We didn’t know for sure that you’d be coming.”
“Couldn’t miss a family day.” He reminds her.
The Simmons’ walk through the door a moment later, and Rossi flings open the glass doors for the excited children to race outside and start their egg hunt with squeals of delight.
Y/n gives Rossi a hug as the adults stream outside. “Thank you for hosting another wonderful Easter.”
“You’re always welcome, my dear.” He assures her. “I hope you don’t mind the little Reids going home full of sugar.” He nods to the massive baskets of chocolate and candy each kid carries, almost as big as Mabel.
“I guess Spencer’s doing bedtime.” She jokes. An hour on the trampoline should do the trick.
“Speak of the devil,” Rossi says, drawing her attention to her husband as he comes waltzing over, holding out an extra mimosa to her.
She takes it appreciatively, letting him wrap his arm around her shoulder. “A very handsome devil.” She chuckles, making Spencer blush easily. It’s endearing to her that he reacts the way he did the first time.
“Shall we eat?” Rossi asks, looking around the yard where everyone’s scattered chatting.
“It almost looks too delicious to eat.” Y/n compliments, looking at the spread.
It’s the gorgeous, perfectly prepared food the team has become accustomed to having at Rossi’s. There are hot cross buns, fresh bread, fruit salad, pastries of all kinds, bacon, eggs, waffles, and all the toppings in the world.
They sit at the adult table, and Spencer’s hand drifts to her knee instinctively. It’s why she sits on his left side each time. The kid table is next to the big one with smaller seats and prefilled plastic cups of juice. Rossi and Krystall are always prepared to entertain.
The kids take their seats, and Y/n momentarily leaves to ensure they’re getting balanced plates and not just gorging themselves on chocolate and candy.
Then she’s back to Spencer’s side, and they’re talking with the rest of the team, basking in the warmth of the sun and family. It’s what they always have been. Even throughout the darkness they’ve seen over the years, they’re closer than ever, and there’s so much love between them.
After brunch, a few drinks in, and Spencer’s more relaxed, pulling Y/n onto his lap and resting his head on her shoulder while they laugh and joke with the team.
It doesn’t last too long before someone’s pulling on Spencer’s sleeve. “Daddy, can you look for the Easter eggs in the trees?” Toby asks, showing him his best puppy eyes even though it’s unnecessary since he’d do anything for him.
Spencer looks around the table to see Derek and Matt being asked the same question, all three of them being targeted by their sons for their height. Flashing a curious look at Rossi, Spencer agrees, moving out from under Y/n to join the hunt.
Rossi and Krystall insist on cleaning up, not wanting their guests to move a muscle, which leaves most of the girls alone at the table since Penelope and Luke are getting drinks and definitely not flirting with each other.
Rose, who has been sleeping so far, starts to cry in her carrier, and Kristy unclips her, pulling her into her arms for cuddles to quiet her. She’s adorable, most similar looking to Jake, in Y/n’s opinion.
“She’s so tiny.” Y/n remarks off-handedly, looking at the small baby. “What’s it like? Four to five?”
All eyes are on her in a second, but JJ beats everyone else to speak. “You’re not...”
Y/n shakes her head quickly, stopping that rumor before it can start. “No. No, I’m not.” She assures them, holding up her glass of champagne to prove it. “I’m just wondering.”
“The nights are rough, but diaper changing is still the same,” Kristy answers honestly. “And Mabel’s probably young enough that you’ve got all her stuff. Is it something you’re considering?”
Y/n shakes her head again. “Not until I see a little baby or that.” Her eyes drift to Spencer, who’s chasing Toby and Aspen around the yard. “But we could end up with twins again, and I think six is a little too crazy.”
Laughter breaks out around the rest of the group, which relieves the seriousness of discussing family planning.
“Here.” Kristy offers Rose to hold, and Y/n takes the baby happily, looking at her adorable face and seeing up close how tiny she is.
“She’s so precious.” She notes, catching Spencer’s eyes. “Spence, look at how little she is.”
Her address gets Matt and Derek’s attention, who are standing next to Spencer. “Uh oh,” Derek remarks knowingly, smirking at Spencer.
“Someone’s about to commit to a new baby.” Matt pats him on the shoulder, smirking as well.
Spencer chuckles, unsure of if it’s true or not. He’ll give her another baby, promised he’d go up to five if she was willing. “Do you think I could pretend I didn’t hear her?” He asks jokingly.
“Get over there, papa bear.” Derek insists with a laugh.
Dutifully, he walks over, sitting next to Y/n and admiring the baby. “She’s so cute.” He compliments Kristy first.
“Look at how little she is.” Y/n repeats.
“Yeah, it seems impossible they’re ever this little.” He remarks, earning hums of agreement from the other women sitting around the table who once had babies this little and now have fully grown children running around in the yard. He remembers when his children were that little like it was yesterday, but Rose still looks tiny. “No more, though.” He tells his wife with a laugh.
“Yeah, you’re right.” She agrees. Not when we’re just getting full nights of sleep.”
The party continues into the late afternoon. The company is too good, and too much fun is being had for anyone to leave earlier.
Despite how much candy they’ve eaten, Aspen and Matilda still manage to eat more in the car on the way home. Y/n agrees they can sleep in the lounge for a sleepover while watching movies, and it takes them far longer than usual to fall asleep, but they do.
Y/n and Spencer hug in the kitchen as they watch the ending credits. He knows it’s a good chance to ask about what he heard earlier. “Do you actually want another baby?”
She’s taken aback, figuring it was forgotten, but she shakes her head. “Not really, but I think our kids are beautiful, and babies are cute when they’re that little.”
“We’d get more chocolate if we had five.” Spencer jokes, nodding to the baskets on the table and pulling away from her to steal one.
“Spencer.” She giggles, splitting the chocolate egg with him. “I think we’ve got more than enough. It’ll last us until next year.”
“I love Easter, you know?” He asks rhetorically. “And you, everything we have, our kids, being a dad, brunch.”
She nods in agreement, leaning up to peck his lips. “I love you, too. Thanks for being in this with me.”
Spencer takes her left hand and kisses her ring finger. “Always.”
Tell me what you think

Emily Prentiss x Fem!Reid!Reader
Requested by Anon
Make a request
Request: Anonymous asked:Could I please have an imagine where the reader is Spencer's twin sister who is just like him. Her and Emily Prentiss fall for each other and it's very obvious. Like Emily purposefully asks for random facts just to talk to the reader. The team, excluding Spencer, comes up with a plan to get them together. It works and they get together. Just fluffy and really gay!?
Read on Wattpad
Read on AO3
“So this guy is using birds?” Derek asked in disbelief. You glanced up as Emily and Spencer hurried into the room.
“Sorry, we’re late.” Emily said as she and Spencer took a seat. She glanced at you and smiled. You smiled to yourself and focused on the file. “What’d we miss?”
“The UNSUB is using birds to… remove body parts?” Derek said and winced as if he was grossed out. Emily teased him a little for it before turning her attention to the folder in front of her.
“Any bird facts from the wonder twins?” Emily asked. She looked up at you and you set down the picture you’d been inspecting.
“There are some pigeons that can be trained to differentiate between the paintings of Pablo Picasso and Claude Monet.” You muttered. The room went quiet until Reid hummed as if he understood.
“It could be a similar kind of bird and there are a lot of pigeon fanciers in the area. Could be a good lead.” Reid muttered.
“Pigeon fanciers?” JJ said and Reid went on to explain what they were and what they did while Emily glanced your way and smiled at you. The group finished and you all headed out to the plane where plans were set out.
“Why don’t I go with Reid? We could check out these pigeon fanciers.” She offered. Reid gave her a quizzical look but said nothing when Hotch agreed.
As soon as Emily started the SUV Reid glanced over at her. “You like my sister.”
“Of course I do. I like everyone on the team.” She answered. Reid said nothing but shot her a look and she sighed. Nodding as she opened up.
“Ok fine. I do. So what.” She was quick with her response and Reid could tell that she didn’t want it pressed.
“I knew there was a reason you were spending more time with me than usual. You know the team has been trying to get the two of you to go out for weeks.” He said casually as he looked over the printed-out folder in his hands.
“They have?” She asked in surprise.
“Yes. They think I haven’t noticed but I’m very good at profiling. Especially my sister. She’s who I practised profiling when I was in the academy.” Reid pointed out casually. Emily hummed as if that made a lot of sense and thought about all the times that you and Emily had been pushed together by the team.
“I can’t believe I missed that.” She muttered and Reid laughed.
“(Y/N) did too. I’ve been waiting to see how long it takes her to notice that you’re only spending time with me because you want to get to know us both better. I’m obviously the better profiler.” Reid grinned at her and she shrugged.
“I don’t know. Love and romance can overwhelm the senses. I don’t think you can use it as a measure of profiling skills.” Emily said and Reid shrugged as if he hadn’t thought of that.
“Are you going to ask (Y/N) out? They like that restaurant. The one on the corner Garcia goes with (Y/N) all the time.” Reid said quickly. He knew you liked her quite a bit and he might as well help things along.
“Sure. yeah. What's the worst that could happen?” Emily said nervously. Reid went quiet and before he could say anything she added. “I don’t need a statistic, Reid.”

Some Kind of Haunted, Some Kind of Haunted.
“Okay Jubal,” Brian Lang folded his arms, looking at the assistant special agent in charge of the New York field office, “Why does my brother think the bureau took his girlfriend?” Instead of answering him, the other man turned to look at the blonde by Lang’s side. “What’s your interest in this Hailey?” “Sarah Reese is a friend, as is Connor, his brother.” They hadn’t let his twin brother go any farther than the glass wall you met before you entered the bullpen. But they had allowed her to continue in step with Lang. The woman mirrored Brian’s stance. “I had the contact so I thought I’d tag along as backup. So I called in a favor from O.A. Although I’m wondering why he sent his partner instead of coming himself.” “Because he’s not here. He’s searching for Sarah.” Jubal sighed before he bent over a computer. They heard him type, and then he flipped the screen so they could see an inactive agent file. Sarah Reese’s inactive agent file.  “She was one of ours a long long time ago. Deputy Director Estrellas actually recruited her straight out of high school.” Jubal Valentine told them. He stroked his chin and added, “Before she left the bureau to go to medical school, she was one of our most talented agents. We reinstated her to full credentials because an old case was being linked to a new overseas one.”  “Reese is always an overachiever. Of course, she’d be an agent and then decide to go to medical school and become a doctor.” Hailey’s tone was fond, if a little exasperated before she broke off and shook her head. Her arms were folded tighter around her. Like her arms were a shield and she was tightening them up to defend against blows that were about to come. Lang glanced up to see his face, worried and desperate for any kind of answers.  “She’s missing?” He questioned the older man quietly. When Jubal nodded, Brian’s grim expression deepened. This was just getting better and better, “For how long?” “At least twenty-four, working on forty-eight. The fly team from Budapest and O.A. is working on finding her.”   “What kind of case would pull her back in? She’s been inactive for over six years.” the police detective asked, shaking her head. “One of those cases that leaves you haunted when you think about it,” a new voice answered quietly. Lang looked up and saw a thin man with a sweater vest striding in and standing beside Jubal.  “Only in Sarah’s case. She thought this case was safely behind bars till they weren’t.” He added before he introduced himself, “Spencer Reid. BAU fly team unit. Sarah was a part of my unit and my partner for her last few years in the field.”

In it together.
Pairing: Austin!Elvis x reader x Olivia!Priscilla.
Summary: After a week of sickness, nothing sounds better than a family day out.
Warning: Time-period racism, Overprotective Austin!Elvis, Fighting, Fluff, Pregnant Olivia!Priscilla, Teen Lisa Marie, Poly relationship. (A/n: sorry this took so dang long, I lost motivation but I tried to push pasted my writer's block for this. I hope you liked it)
Tumblr media
You smiled as you took in the fresh air of a gorgeous dawn, the birds chirping was like Harmony to your ears. A week spent in bed without sun and light and nasty medicine was all behind you and now you got to see your babies, Lord had mercy on your little Spencer and Savannah. Now Elvis did the best he could do to deal with their hair, most hairstyles were clumsy and unsure yet the twins wore them with pride and would brag about their daddy doing their hair if the stories your older daughter told you was true.
"Takin' in the view mama." Elvis walked up from behind you and hugged your waist. You hummed and looked over your shoulder to see he wasn't looking at the "View" but you. Gigging you batted his arms from you as you looked through the open door to see Priscilla trying to go down the stairs. "Elvis!" you gasped. "Cilla!" Elvis didn't skip a beat and rushed to help his legitimate wife.
"Oh calm down you two I'm okay." Priscilla huffed yet it held no bite as she allowed Elvis to help her down the last steps. "Cilla, you know how dangerous it is to go down those stairs. Alone" you scolded her and in turn, she rolled her eyes, a tiny smile on her painted lips, and simply walked past you towards the car. "Come on, the kids are waiting," she said looking over her shoulder before opening the passenger seat and sliding into the vehicle. Elvis chuckled and shook his head as he got into the driver's seat, and waited for you to get in the back with Lisa, the twins, and your baby boy. You could see the giddiness of your children, all so happy to go to the new restaurant that opened up close to Beale Street, and Elvis had been dying to visit. The ride was filled with laughter and lively chatter. Once Elvis had parked the car, everyone filed out, the children sported smiles and grins as they looked upon the front of the restaurant was it beautiful, a glowing gold neon sign in cursive was raised above the door, adding a fancy touch. You were luckily seated, almost immediately once they saw your husband, and if you thought the outside was beautiful the inside did it no justice. The carpet was a velvet red and a classy glass, golden chandelier hung from the high ceiling, the black tablecloths and white chair covers popped out of the glamorous colors. Your brows frowened as a waiter came up to your table wearing a spotless suit his eyes flicking to you and your babies, his smile twitching each time he did as he took your orders and rushed away. "I'm so excited for some food." Lisa Marie groaned and leaned back into her chair, eyes closed and dramatically rubbing her stomach, causing the twins to giggle at their older sister as she opened an eye to peek at them, a playful smile on her lips. The giggles, Priscilla warning Lisa Marie to behave, and Elvis trying to calm down his wife blurred to background noise, as you suddenly felt aware of the stares from the other patrons and the not-so-stable way the waiter seemed to whisper to another waiter and pointing to your table. "Mama, ya okay?" Elvis whispered as he grabbed your hand, squeezing it. "Oh, yeah. 'm okay." you faked a smile, reassuring your husband, as you squeezed his hand back as a man came to your table. He didn't look like a waiter, he wore a striped black suit instead of the plain black suits the serves wear and cheap golden jewelry, "Ah, the famous Mr. And Mrs. Presley! Welcome to my restaurant." his grin at Elvis and Cilla before it turned sleazy as he looked at you, "Sorry but pets aren't allowed here, so if you can take your pets out that would very appreciated." a pregnant silence filed the air before the sound of a chair falling to the floor and a grunt broke the silence. "Lisa Maire, help your siblings! " you ordered as you quickly helped Priscilla out of her chair and towards the exit, looking back at your enraged husband. You knew better than anyone you had to get the family away from the scene, you wouldn't let your babies see violence so young. No later Elvis was storming out the door, panting in anger as he slide into the drivers seat, his shaking fingers running through his messed hair and straightening out his shirt. Wordless you leaned forward and took hold of his shoulder, your touched seemed to calm down your husband, as he shaky exhaled,"Thank ya, mama." Elvis laid his hand on yours.
"Mama," Savannah spoke up softly, "why did that man call us pets?" she asked, her eyes glazed over as she looked at you and her father. "Oh baby.." you shushed her as you pulled her into your embrace. "Some people were raised wrong, bug," Priscilla said softly. "but there will be people who will love and care about you regardless of your skin color" Elvis piped in, reaching back to hold his son's arm, comforting the little boy as tiny stifles came out of his lips. "Why don't we head down to our favorite diner?" Lisa Marie suggested, with that the twins cheered up as they pleaded to go, even little Eric cooed in agreement.
The familiar smell of greased food and the cheerful welcome of a waitress as she led you to your tables. And like that, everyone was happy again, At times like that you realized despite the cruelty you weren't alone anymore. You had your family, you had your fortress and you were all in it together.

ok we are 10 minutes into kollok and i am straight up not having a good time but I am going to commit to this hour of watching. to keep myself from losing it i'm going to do some very irritating stream of consciousness on this post and post it at the end, nonrebloggably so as to not yuck any yums (though feel free to go wild in the replies). also I need to point out: I don't have misophonia. I have openly and repeatedly said I think the Sam Riegel ASMR ad is not just inoffensive, but actively very funny and enjoyable. The sounds on this show are setting my teeth on edge. I hate it. also for the intro the immersion is genuinely WORSE than say, CR or D20 because everyone's just reading prologues that they've written.
speaking of we're done with the prologues to the prologue and into the prologue, as demonstrated by the title screen and horrible noises.
Tumblr media
I call this filter the "yeah I've got mild astigmatism and have taken mushrooms before, you're not special"
hmmm we're stuck in this fuckery for a while and i'm suffering so anyway folks i've made it so polygon will think CR is good:
Tumblr media
the music is pretty good I will give them that. also this is literally not special though. like Zac just was like uhhhhhh math as any GM would say, he just was weirdly aiming for suaveness instead of like. normal.
All the profanity on this show sounds like a mormon or a ten year old who just learned the word "fuck" and is trying it out. as a woman who swears constantly i'm like what is HAPPENING. also this blonde woman who isn't on the show in the present day is rolling so hilariously badly. is this why she's not on. girl get out.
back to the present day; this actually is a really good industrial music video ruined by some actual play in the background
"zac, I'm going to command attention please"
"who's zac"
"sorry, driver" ah yes yes this is SOOOOOOO much more immersive i'm totally not making the jerk-off motion
i love u danielle radford you deserve better. although the actual RP now that we're in it is like, fine.
really i think a really significant problem is that this is the most 2014 YA-dystopia plot that ever plotted except as a core part of the premise, everyone is 30. I feel, honestly, that this is the other big issue in actual play that people at polygon obsess over that leaves me ice cold, (also? lots of fandom cold takes), but like...I was a HUGE sf nerd pretty much from childhood, and I think a lot of people came to actual play for a number of reasons not tied to the genres in which it typically exists (fantasy, science fiction, horror). This is fine but it means you get people who act like VERY standard genre conventions are either the most brilliant and original creation on earth, or utterly baffling. Anyway my point is that this is giving Divergent by Veronica Roth but it THINKS it's somewhere between Twin Peaks by David Lynch and the adaptation of the Handmaid's Tale and it's like no babe. you're Divergent by Veronica Roth. stop fronting like you're Twin Peaks. You're Divergent. By Veronica Roth. Which I read while stranded at LaGuardia over a decade ago.
lighting effects are fine honestly. reminds me of the Doja Cat 2020 MTV EMA version of Say So. Wish I were just rewatching that. rotating rock i love you. you are the best thing here other than danielle radford. I feel like I'm in a really fancy Spencer's Gifts. by the way I know i'm being pretty bitchy and incoherent here BUT I'm sober; let's hear it for Stupidly Bougie Soda and Nonalcoholic Spirits.
I'm also eating bean dip with a spoon. in my defense I made REALLY good bean dip and I don't have chips.
I just. other than the digital filter in the flashback I genuinely don't see how this is different than D20 except lacking in any charms and OH GOD THAT'S TIME.
but I want to add that like...the thing is Danielle (C-dubbs) was doing some wacky funny stuff and it felt like it was being shut down and to be fair I get wanting to stick WITHIN the genre but this whole thing feels joyless, and not like "oh, survival horror is so grimdark and sad", I am a tragedy enjoyer, but like. it feels...mandated.
Also this is weird and picky but for all of Those High Production Values (repeated direct quote from the Polygon article) they do a weirdly bad job of filming the die rolls? Like, they cut to the dice trays at the wrong time?
Finally, and this is just a pot shot at Polygon but they should stop making it so easy, but the article was like "I watched the 4-ish hour first episode and I didn't have a clue what was going on but it had Those High Production Values" and it's like...I was demonstrably fucking around on tumblr and in GIMP while watching and I have a pretty solid idea of what was going on. Maybe it goes nuts in the remaining 2.5 hours that I may chip away at to be able say I watched a full episode and decided it "wasn't for me" *smiles like I'm a waitress on Hell's Kitchen and Gordon Ramsey just asked me a question* but I think you might be dumb.
CONCLUSION: just watch the Doja Cat 2020 MTV EMA version of Say So, read Divergent (by Veronica Roth) (you don't have to be at LaGuardia) and like, check out Mentopolis or Misfits and Magic if you want to see Danielle Radford in a Kids on Bikes game that is good.

REVEALED: Obamas WERE On Martha's Vineyard When Chef Mysteriously Drowned in their POND: 8 feet of water
In a turn of events, it has been confirmed that former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, were indeed present on Martha’s Vineyard when their personal chef, Tafari Campbell, tragically drowned under mysterious circumstances. The Obamas, who own a massive house on the island, initially reported through their office that they were not at the residence when the incident occurred.
However, the narrative has since been changed, stating that while they were on the island, they were not at their residence at the time of Campbell’s unfortunate demise.
Campbell, 45, was discovered dead on Monday by divers after he went missing in the Edgartown Great Pond, Massachusetts. Campbell had been paddle boarding with another individual around 7:40 pm on Sunday. Eyewitnesses reported that he was dressed entirely in black and was not wearing a life preserver, a detail that has added to the mystery surrounding his death.
The DailyMail wrote:
Initially, the Obamas’ office said they were not home.
Their office clarified on Monday that they were on the island, just not at the residence when Campbell drowned.
The circumstances leading to Campbell’s death remain unclear, and an autopsy is expected to take place. As part of the investigation, a toxicology analysis will also be conducted, which is a standard procedure in drowning cases.
Campbell had a long-standing relationship with the Obama family. He served as a sous chef at the White House during the Obama administration and continued to work privately for the family after they left office.
Adding another layer to the mystery surrounding Campbell’s death is the fact that he had taken swimming lessons as recently as 2019. Reports have led to further speculation and questions about the circumstances of his death.
Campbell’s Instagram ‘Fitness’ highlight showed his dedication to maintaining his health, showcasing him swimming backstroke, freestyle swimming, logging a 40-minute swim workout on his Apple watch, and even bench pressing 315 pounds.
WATCH:
Campbell’s wife, Sherise, released a heartfelt statement on Instagram mourning the loss of her husband. She wrote, “My heart is broken. My life and our family’s life is forever changed. Please pray for me and our families as I deal with the loss of my husband.” The couple were parents to twin 19-year-old sons.
The staff at Edgartown Meat and Fish Market, where Campbell was a regular, also paid tribute to the chef, whom they remembered as a ‘wonderful guy’. “We saw him last week, he was such a nice and happy guy,” one staff member shared, adding that Campbell had been a customer for a few years and would often chat about what he was cooking.
Barack Obama's Chicago Man Country Friends:
November 17, 2007 Larry Bland shot and killed in his own home
December 24, 2007 Donald Young shot and killed execution style in his own apartment
December 26, 2007 Nate Spencer died in Chicago Hospital (AIDS)
November 14, 2011 Larry Sinclair, Obama's CHICAGO 1999 Bathhouse & cocaine prostitute involved in hit and run car incident
In 2008 Beau Biden & Joe Biden arranged to have Sinclair arrested for telling the Washington, DC National Press Club about his gay love affair and cocaine use with Senator Obama.

Ch 12 - The Lost Heir Job
Series Rewrite Masterlist
Pairing: Eliot Spencer x Ford!Reader
Description: The con this week takes a couple turns as they try to steal a rich man's inheritance from his lawyer and give it to the charity he requested before he passed away. The client's lawyer is an interesting character as well.
Words: 4989
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nate didn’t tell anyone, but I knew that he went to see Sophie, despite his insistence of leaving her alone on the last job. I wasn’t sure if she would show up, so I left Nate to meet the client on his own, just in case she did. What I didn’t expect was that our client would bring an attorney and that she would want to know what was going on all of the time or else we didn’t have a client at all.
“I hate this,” Eliot said when Nate explained the situation.
“You do not let Vicki Vale into the Batcave, ever,” Hardison said. I would have to refresh my memory on that reference, but I got the jist that he didn’t like the situation either.
“First, this is my home, not a cave,” Nate replied. “Second, we’re not gonna allow her up here.”
“Sophie would never approve,” Parker said forcefully. “Call her.”
“We can’t just keep calling Sophie.”
“Okay, I see how it is,” Hardison said. “We can’t call her, but you can go off and have a little secret meeting with her.”
I should have known Hardison would already know about it.
“What are you talking about? I was in Harrisburg, researching a client,” Nate defended.
“Wow, cause you know what?” Hardison put some evidence on the screen behind Nate, “your passport got dinged going through Heathrow Airport yesterday. Heathrow’s in London. I guess you couldn’t get a direct flight to Harrisburg.”
“Well it’s hard when you do the same day booking,” Eliot pointed out.
Hardison stuttered a bit in response to Eliot before getting back to his point, “Did you realize that London is the home of the most security cameras in the world?”
“Really?” Parker said, feigning interest.
“Who feels like playing Where’s Waldo?” Hardison asked. “I do.”
Parker raised her hand with an ‘Oh!’
“Do you think he wore his trenchcoat to be inconspicuous?” I asked.
“Damn girl, it’s like you already knew,” Hardison praised as he showed a picture after picture of Nate, in his trenchcoat. “Waldo Ford. Oh, is that Big Ben? And you?”
We all smiled at each other as Hardison continued to milk it.
“Wow, you got twins and triplets everywhere.” Hardison became more serious, “and lookie there, 11:18 am standing outside of Sophie’s apartment looking quite pensive.”
“Aw, he’s rehearsing what he’s gonna say,” Parker said. “I’ve seen him do that.”
“Alright, alright guys. Okay, you caught me,” Nate conceded. “I went to London. Yeah. I saw Sophie.” He paused, looking at each of us individually. “And she’s not coming back.”
My heart sank. I had already assumed this to be the case since she wasn’t here, but him saying it outloud really hit it home. She wasn’t coming back.
Parker shook her head, “Not now, or not ever?”
“I, uh, don’t know,” Nate said. “An, uh, I don’t think she does either. So, uh, that’s that.”
There was a moment of silence as we all contemplated what that might mean.
“Could you please take the…” Nate gestured at the screens behind him with the surveillance photos of him. “Thank you,” he said once they were gone, “Can we get back to work?” Nate stood, moving the stool he was sitting on out of the way. He took a business card out of his pocket, “This… Tara Carlisle. Hardison, maybe you could just do a background check on her and if everything pans out, I don’t see why we can’t have an outsider just this once tag along. Hm?”
I couldn’t help but make a comparison, “I mean, I don’t think it’d be much different than having me around. Especially in the beginning…”
Nobody answered or added to my thought, but I did notice some clenched jaws and subtle head movements, as if weighing the odds.
“Ok, why don’t you run it for ‘em,” Nate told Hardison.
Hardison started his slide show, “Meet the late, great Bennett Kimball. He made his fortune the old-fashioned way: polluting, union busting, employing sweatshop labor. His personal life was even worse. Drunken driving accidents, chasing women, paying off the mob.
“Why haven’t we ever heard of this guy?” Parker asked.
“Because to the rest of the world,” Nate answered, “Bennett Kimball was a pillar of Boston society. Thanks to one very hard working lawyer.”
“Meet his longtime attorney, Peter Blanchard,” Hardison said, showing his picture on the screen. “This is an interesting guy. He’s a blue blood Harvard Law Graduate who turned into Kimball’s personal janitor. Dude would pay off the cops, pay hush money, God knows what else.”
“And he was rewarded by being named the executor and sole beneficiary of Kimball’s estate,” Nate added.
“Lovely,” I commented sarcastically, “So he’s invested, to say the least.”
“Mmhm,” Hardison agreed. “See, Kimball didn’t have any kids. He had a couple of ex-wives way, way back, but Blanchard is the closest thing he has to family.”
“Well, I guess this Blanchard guy didn’t count on his client having such a giving side,” Eliot said.
“Funny how that works,” Nate replied, standing up. “What happens to rich people when they know the end is near… It’s really, really amazing. Okay, I don’t know that we have a legal angle to play on this one, because in three days, he is going to present the will in probate court and assume control of the estate.”
“And our client’s charity gets nothing,” Parker said.
“Now, Blanchard was the keeper of Kimball’s secrets so…” Nate continued, “Yeah, so that’s our way in, right there.”
“You want a skeleton from his closet,” Parker deduced, a bit excited.
“Absolutely,” Nate agreed, “and there’s gotta be tons of skeletons. I mean, we want something so scary that the mere mention of it makes this guy run for his checkbook. So, uh, if that weren’t hard enough, we’ve got the chaperone to think about.” Nate clapped his hands a bit awkwardly at the task we had a head, and then took his exit.
“Tara Carlisle,” Hardison said to us. He, Nate, Eliot, and I stood outside of a prison, waiting for the attorney to arrive. “She checks out. Civil rights lawyer, does a lot of pro bono work. Collects lost causes like kittens.”
She pulled up in a low profile sudan, practical.
“Well, she’s honest,” Eliot commented.
“Crusader, incorruptible,” Hardison said as she stepped out of her car. She wore heels and a pencil skirt, professional, but still flattering along with her blond half updo and glasses. Hardison seemed to notice as he added, “And one sexy librarian.”
I looked over at him and Eliot with a raised eyebrow, but they kept their gaze on her. I rolled my eyes as I returned my gaze to the newcomer.
Nate waved and walked to stand beside her, “Hey guys, I’d like you to meet Tara Carlisle. She’s our client’s attorney. She’s gonna be joining us today.”
“I’m here because I believe we share a common goal,” she said as she shook our hands. “I just want to make sure it’s done the right way.” She turned to Nate, “Now, you said you had something we could use against Blanchard?”
Nate nodded, signaling for Hardison to explain.
“Okay, well behind these prison walls, or, um, prison shrubs,” Hardison started, pointing at the low security prison, “is Kimball’s former business partner, PJ Orson. He’s doing ten years for embezzlement. Kimball’s company paid $50,000 to a company called Lamond Holdings back in 1980.” Hardison was about to continue when he zeroed into Tara dutifully taking notes in a little note pad.
“That?” Nate asked. “Yeah, she does that. It’s okay, go ahead.”
Hardison continued, “Well, Lamond Holdings is a Vegas front company for the mob.”
“Yeah, $50,000 used to be the going rate for a contract killer in those days,” Eliot clarified helpfully.
“I’m not gonna ask how you know that,” I said before I could stop myself, since I had an idea.
“Good, cuz you don’t want to know.”
“Fair enough.”
“You think Kimball paid to have somebody killed?” Tara asked.
I didn’t have to look at Eliot or Hardison to know that we all made a little bit of a face at the question.
“Okay,” Nate took the attention to himself, “now what we’re gonna do right now is we’re going to go undercover.”
“Well, why don’t we go talk to Mr. Orson?” Tara asked.
Hardison and Eliot laughed.
“No. The best lie is the truth Mr. Ford,” she said resolutely. “I think if we go in there, and plead our case, Mr. Orson will wanna talk to us.”
She had so much confidence walking into that prison with Nate and I behind her, even up to explaining the situation to Orson. Until he laughed in her face.
Nate and I glanced at each other with a knowing look. Eliot and Hardison were getting ready for undercover anyway. It looked like we would need them after all, crazy.
Orson explained to Tara how he was living a very comfortable life in the prison. He didn’t need his sentence reduced, he didn’t need any deals.
Once Orson left, Nate told Hardison and Eliot to put the squeeze on him and for Parker to case Blanchard’s office. Nate then turned to us, “Why don’t you two come with me. I’m about to become a really terrible lawyer. You can watch.” He then turned to exit the prison.
I waited for Tara to gather her things, walking alongside her, “Don’t worry, it’ll be fun.”
She gave me a skeptical look.
I reached my hand out to shake again, “I’m Y/n, Y/n Ford.”
She shook it cautiously this time, “Daughter?”
I shook my head, “Niece, but he raised me after my parents passed.” She let out a quiet, ‘ah,’ but before she could provide condolences as I could see she was about to, I spoke again. “So, I have to deal with his bullshit all the time, trust me, you’ll enjoy yourself at least a little bit.”
The three of us headed over to the courthouse after Nate changed into an… interesting suit to say the least.  It was a three piece suit, everything was powder blue except for his tie, which was orange. It was clear–he was there to make a statement.
“Look, Blanchard’s here at the same time as you are. That’s a coincidence,” Tara said excitedly as she spotted Blanchard in the hallway.
“No, it’s not,” Nate said, “we hacked into his online appointment schedule.” He quickly corrected himself, “I mean, yes, what a coincidence.” He waved a hand at us, “why don’t you wait for me outside?”
“What are you going to do?” Tara asked.
Nate stumbled over his words trying to say what he was doing somewhat discreetly, “uh, make an appointment with… You’ll see.” Nate then walked ahead of us, past Blanchard, to a judge’s door.
I stepped slightly in front of Tara, facing her as if to have a conversation, “You can watch over my shoulder, make it a bit less suspicious.”
She nodded, tilting her head curiously as she did as I told her. I in turn listened as Nate knocked on the door.
“Hi there. Listen, Jimmy Popodokolos, Las Vegas, attorney at law. I’m here to talk to the judge about the Kimball probate hearing.” He then obnoxiously kept throwing in filler words and “very important”s  as the secretary tried to put him down for an appointment.
“Oh, can you see Blanchard? He must be peeved,” I asked Tara.
She hesitated, “Well, he’s facing away from me…”
“Come on, you’re a lawyer, don’t you know body language?” I didn’t wait for her answer before stretching a bit, peeking towards Blanchard in the process. “Yeah, he looks tense, this’ll be good.”
Once Nate was done talking to the judge he came walking back towards us. Tara and I quickly fell into step with him as we exited the court house.
“I think we should go back to the prison, something tells me Orson is gonna talk to us,” Nate said, stepping into the car.
I laughed to myself a bit, knowing that Eliot and Hardison must have been successful in scaring the crap out of him. They were posing as guards within the prison and were stirring up trouble for Orson. The very real threat of getting him transferred to maximum security prison was looming over his head.
Tara was confused, but Nate refused to elaborate.
“Who are you guys? Feds, playing hardball?” Orson asked once Tara picked up the phone again.
“I’m sorry, what are you…?” she said.
“Listen, the payment to Lamond Holdings was made to someone named George Gilbert.”
“Who is George Gilbert?”
“I don’t know. Blanchard said to keep it to ourselves because the mob was involved. That’s all I know, I swear. I don’t want to die in a prison riot. Please, call off your dogs.” The guard then came and told him that time was up, so he left the visiting area.
“Alright, so Blanchard paid the mob $50,000 to kill someone named George Gilbert for Kimball,” Nate said. “Well, this should be an interesting meeting.” Nate then swiftly exited the room, Tara and I close behind. She was substantially more confused than before.
Nate went to meet with Blanchard with this new found information to try and blackmail him a bit and buy enough time for Parker to break into Blanchard’s safe in his office. I went back to my apartment and changed into some comfier clothes and made myself a snack. I should have been excited to have another “outsider” around, to be able to share what I’ve discovered with someone else. But for some reason, it made me a bit anxious hanging around her. Like something wasn’t right. I tried to shake it off, it wouldn’t be the first time anxiety built up for no reason. Having a minute to myself in my apartment helped, I was able to decompress away from people for a little while.
That was until Eliot knocked. When I opened my door, I didn’t fail to catch the quick look over he did and the slight tilt of his head. I took a second myself to admire how the long sleeves of his white undershirt were pushed up to his elbows before locking my eyes with his.
“We need you over here again. There’s been a change of plans,” he stepped away from the door, letting me step out after him.
I rolled my eyes as I pulled the door shut behind me, “when isn’t there.”
“Touche.”
Eliot gave me a quick run down as we crossed the hall and entered Nate’s apartment. It wasn’t a mob hit that Blanchard paid for. It was a stripper, a pay off to make her disappear. Nate then claimed that Parker was Kimball’s child from that stripper.
Parker was complaining when we sat down that she was one digit away from cracking the safe.
“Yeah, no. This is much, much better than the safe,” Nate assured.
“I got everything on Georgia Gilbert, and I mean everything,” Hardison said. He relayed her birthdate, education, medical tidbits, including that she was colorblind, and even her shoe and dress size, heaven forbid. “And how in the world did you know that she was pregnant?”
“Wait, she was pregnant?” Parker asked.
“Yeah, gave the baby up for adoption.”
“What happened to Georgia?”
“She died in 1985. Cancer.”
My face scrunched up in sympathy. That must have been rough.
“Tough draw,” Eliot said.
“Well, it wasn’t really a guess,” Nate said, bringing us back to Hardison’s question. “I mean, for decades Kimball, he had a lot of women on the side, avoided a lot of scandal, right? So what made him decide to marry Georgia Gilbert over all those women?”
“Blanchard paid her off and Kimball thought she ran out on him,” Eliot said.
“Now, how did you know that baby was a girl?” Hardison asked.
“Oh, oh yeah… That- that was a guess,” Nate admitted.
Eliot and I chuckled a bit. The luck of this man…
“But, that’s a fifty-fifty deal.”
“Why don’t we find the real daughter?” I asked.
“Adoption records are sealed, paper only,” Hardison replied. “I have a reference number, but nobody can see inside. All this is good, until Blanchard wants a DNA test. I gotta say, even with my bag of tricks, I can’t rewrite Parker’s genetic code.”
“That’s quitter talk,” I said simply.
“You know what-”
“Yeah, so we just have to convince him that asking for DNA is the worst possible choice he can make,” Nate said, cutting Hardison from a retort.
“How do we do that?” Eliot asked.
“We don’t.”
Nate briefed Tara of the plan. She was to go to a meeting with Blanchard and do some reverse psychology to get him to not want a DNA test. With Hardison attaching one of Parker’s aliases to the adoption reference number, it made it look like Parker was the missing daughter. It sounded like it was pretty successful, but only time would ultimately tell.
It didn’t take long for Blanchard’s assistant to call, setting up a meeting with Nate and Parker. While it seemed like good news, I’ve been learning not to celebrate until we were truly home free.
I decided to go to the hearing both to show some moral support and just in case something went awry. I had an earbud in, listening to how the meeting was going to go on the riverfront. Eliot went along as well, just in case. It was a good thing, because not long after they arrived, I heard gunshots.
“Nate?!” I tried to whisper. Luckily the hearing hadn’t started yet, so others were chatting, but Tara heard and looked towards me with a worried expression. I waved her off, quickly and quietly exiting the courtroom. “Eliot, what’s going on?”
“Well, he was convinced alright,” Parker answered instead after the fighting noises stopped. “Good plan.”
“No, no, no, this is good,” Nate panted. “Because, I mean, you know, we get you to the hearing, he’ll cut us a check in the hallway just to keep you from getting in front of that judge. Just make sure that Parker gets to that hearing. No matter what.”
I started pacing the hallway. This wasn’t good, but hopefully salvageable.
“Hardison, give me some good news,” Nate asked after a little while.
“Oh, I’ve got some great news for ya,” he answered, somewhat sarcastically. “They just put an APB on Parker. It says she’s a late 20s Caucasian woman who shot an officer. She’s an addict and she’s armed. Trifecta.”
“Hardison, how good’s the description of her?” Eliot asked, but Hardison didn’t have to answer as I heard sirens coming through from his end.
“Pretty good,” Parker answered.
I listened to the background noises of them running and then eventually Nate took a call from Blanchard. Once he hung up he addressed us.
“Hardison, y/n, Blanchard’s headed to the courthouse. You’ve gotta delay him. Buy us some time.”
“How do you expect us to do that?” Hardison asked.
“I don’t know, use your imagination.”
“Just use my imagination…” Hardison said to himself before trailing off.
“Do you want me up there in the foyer, Hardison? Or should I stay back here, behind the security check?” I asked him. I was fumbling over what I could do to keep him from getting here.
“Uh,” He said, it sounded like he was rummaging through his pockets, “No, I think I have an idea to keep him here at the security check for a while. Stay back there to run last minute interference if necessary.”
I sighed shakily, “Okay… okay okay.”
He started talking with people in the lobby, asking for things to help, I assumed. I looked around, trying to think about what I could do to slow Blanchard down once he got here. What would Sophie do? Think of the classic tricks, the plausible movie tropes. My eyes flicked around the corridor, catching benches and people milling around. Then someone walked by with a coffee cup.
That might work.
I was impressed with how long Hardison held Blanchard up at the security check, but it wasn’t long enough, Nate was still running behind. To top it off, Parker couldn’t find a way into the courthouse since every entrance was covered by police. I didn’t manage to find any coffee, but I did find a cup and water, so it would have to do. I poured some on the ground a little ways from the courtroom, to have a little more space. I had the rest of the water in the cup, ready for some oscar worthy performances.
I watched as Blanchard turned the corner. I hyped myself up a bit, I had rough housed a little in college, played a pick up game every once in a while. I could do this. I timed it so I slipped on the water one step in front of him as I crossed the hall, not giving him time to avoid me. As I fell I took his legs out from under him and spilled the rest of my water for good measure. Unfortunately I fell a bit wrong and he fell on top of me, not quick enough to catch himself.
“Aw, shit,” I whispered to myself. That hurt. I vaguely heard Nate talking to everyone else, giving orders to tweak the plan again, but I wasn’t listening. A crowd had gathered around, helping Blanchard and I up.
He quickly apologized, but excused himself. He tried to run, but the water made the floor slippery, which significantly slowed his progress. I wanted to smile at the little victory, but I was soaking wet and my body was aching, so I just gently shook myself off before slowly following him.
I sat down next to Hardison in the back of the courtroom once I got there and he gave me tentative knuckles. I touched my fist to his with a sigh, “that went better in my head.”
“Well, you bought some time, so…” he shook his head a bit, “but maybe don’t hurt yourself next time.”
“Noted.”
Nate loudly entered the courtroom as Tara was questioning our client on the stand. After introducing himself, the judge demanded that Nate represent the missing heir immediately. Nate took a moment to gather his things and thoughts, which the judge allowed. I heard Tara scold him a bit for posing as a lawyer through his comms.
“Well, stick around. I’m about to practice medicine, too,” he retorted back softly.
I turned to Hardison, “oh, this’ll be good.” To which he nodded.
“Uh, Your Honor, I’d like to offer into evidence these documents showing a payment that Mr. Blanchard made to a Georgia Gilbert, a woman I contend bore Mr. Kimball’s child,” Nate said.
“Yes, Your Honor,” Blanchard interrupted, “Mr. Popodoklips-”
“It’s Popodokolos.”
“Pokadolokisp… Pop… Popa-”
“Popodokolos.”
“This man!” Blanchard said louder, “spun these fairy tales in my office. It’s a shakedown from a disbarred-”
“Suspended!”
“Ambulance chaser from Las Vegas!” He shouted. “And he says that he found Bennett Kimball’s daughter. So I only have one question for him,” he said much calmer. “Where is she?”
Everyone stared at each other for a moment before Nate replied, “I could produce her, Your Honor, if you just allow me to ask the witness one question. One question to the witness.”
The judge nodded, “Please.”
Nate then walked up to our client, “Miss Walton. What… color… is my tie?”
She hesitated, “I don’t know. I’m color blind.”
Nate went on to explain to the judge, and everyone else in the room, that both Bennett Kimball and Georgia Gilbert were color blind. It was extremely rare for a woman to be color blind, both parents would have to be color blind for her to have it.
“Wait…” Ruth said from the witness stand, “Are you saying that I’m Bennett Kimball’s daughter?”
“It’s no coincidence, is it, that you started a program helping foster kids get adopted?” Nate asked her. “No coincidence, is it Miss Walton?”
“No, I was adopted myself.”
“Yes, in 1982,” Nate said. “You were two years old. The state of Nevada.”
“Yes,” she said in disbelief.
“Now the last time you saw Bennett Kimball, he called you by a different name, didn’t he? What was it?” He asked, but she didn’t answer. “Gigi? Georgia Gilbert. Gigi.”
She nodded imperceptibly on the stand.
“That’s who he was looking at when he saw you that day. Your birth mother, the woman he loved and lost in 1980.” This whole time he was speaking just to Ruth it seemed, but he then addressed the judge, “Your Honor, Bennett Kimball didn’t call Miss Walton here out of the blue to donate money to her charity. He searched for her. He searched for his daughter.”
“I move to strike Mr. Popodokos’s evidence from the record based on the fact that I haven’t been able to get adequate time to review these outlandish claims and prepare a proper response,” Blanchard said almost desperately.
“Popodokolos,” Nate corrected again.
“Popodokolos!” He nearly screamed.
“I agree, Your Honor,” Tara said, standing elegantly. “And I would also like to add a motion to compel a DNA test to put to rest any doubt that my client is Mr. Kimball’s daughter. The truth will win out.”
“Motion granted,” the judge said. “When we get the results, I expect I will be awarding Miss Walton the Kimball estate. We’re adjourned.”
Blanchard wasn’t too happy with that outcome. He got even more upset once he was arrested as a result of the dirty files Parker handed over to the authorities from Blanchard’s office. He was screaming insults and suspicions that Nate wasn’t a lawyer as he was dragged out of the courtroom.
“So,” Nate said to Tara, “do you still think law is, you know, the only pathway to justice?”
“Now more than ever,” she replied. “I like to think that you learned something from me today.”
She then left the courtroom with a pep in her step. We all filed out after her, heading back to the pub.
We met up with Ruth, giving the bit of closure we could when Nate asked her where her lawyer, Tara, was.
“My lawyer? I never met her before this week,” she replied confused. “She told me she was with you.”
We all shared a look. We quickly said our goodbyes to Ruth, wishing good luck, before heading up to Nate’s apartment. Once we entered, it wasn’t hard to spot Tara sitting in the middle of the room. She was wearing more comfortable and revealing clothes compared to her lawyer outfit. She also wore darker makeup and had her hair down.
“Took you long enough,” she said, much more relaxed than before as well. She waved an envelope in her hand.
Eliot stepped in front of us, “Who are you?”
“Tara Cole,” she replied easily. “I’m a friend of Sophie’s.” She handed the envelope to Nate, “She said you were short handed, asked me to help. It’s in there.”
Eliot stood intimidatingly close to her, arms crossed. Parker looked her up and down evaluating.
“So you help out by lying to us,” Hardison accused.
“I wanted to see how good you really are,” she answered simply. “And show you how good I am. Consider it my audition.”
I stood back a bit, giving some space, “well, I’m never ignoring that gut feeling again.” I said, somewhat to myself, but I didn’t mind if anyone heard. Tara tilted her head and raised an eyebrow at me in response.
“I bet you’re not even a lawyer,” Parker said, a bit of disgust in her voice.
“Awe, Sophie was right. You are adorable.”
“Excuse me?”
Eliot, Hardison, and I stepped in a bit there, trying to defuse the situation that would surely lead to Parker starting a fight. It stayed at a bit of arguing before Nate caught our attention.
“She’s right. Sophie did send her.” Nate looked back at the letter, “And, uh, Sophie asked us to give Tara here a shot.” Nate handed the letter to Hardison to read to confirm. “Well played. Welcome aboard.”
“Thanks,” Tara said, shaking Nate’s hand. She then started for the door.
“Whoa whoa. Hold up,” Hardison said, stopping her. “What is this?” He held out another paper.
“Oh, that’s my invoice,” She said. “For my cut of the inheritance.” We all stared at her for a moment. “Hey, I’m not a candy striper. This is my job.”
We turned to Nate and he gave a single, slow nod.
“There, see? We’re getting paid already. It’s gonna be fun.” She then made her exit.
I sighed after a moment, “well, I say we sleep on it. Not worry about it tonight.” I stretched a bit, a groan leaving my lips when a bruise protested.
They all hummed in agreement, dispersing themselves and the tense energy around us, just a little bit.
Eliot stepped up beside me, “How’re you feeling? I heard you took a tumble, just tackled Blanchard to the ground.”
I chuckled a bit, “Something like that. I’m okay, nothing like what you do, but I’m definitely gonna be finding bruises.”
He shook his head, “yeah, but you’re not used to it like I am.”
“True.” We headed to the door, Eliot walking me across the hall.
“Take a warm bath, epsom salts help the aches,” he said once I opened up my apartment.
I looked up at him, his eyes were shifting around my face, as if looking me over. If I didn’t know him, I would have said he was nervous. “Thanks, I’ll do that.”
He nodded and then turned and started down the exit stairs supposedly going home as I shut my apartment door softly.
I still have a lot of fics in the works: series, one shots and headcannons alike. So here is a rundown of the sort of things that I am working on for you guys!
First of all, I am revising and editing the fics that I have already posed as they are about three years old! Once I have edited them I shall reblog them to let you know.
An entire MCU rewrite. Now, I have started this a million times at this point and every time I take it down for one reason or another. So it may be a while before y'all see this series as it will take me a while to make sure it is perfect. - Bucky Barnes x Witch!Female!Reader
A Loki series rewrite. This is quite a new series that I have been thinking about recently. There are lots of ways that it can go. Although with that season two finale, I have no idea how to end the fic! With that being said, if y'all have any ideas about that just let me know. - Loki Laufeyson x Female!Reader
A Harry Potter rewrite, sort of. This series will follow Y/N and her adventures through the years of Hogwarts with the Weasley twins. I have wanted to write something like this for years as I love the Harry Potter series and the Weasley twins are definitely my favourite. It's probably going to have some very long chapters as one school year is each chapter. - George Weasley x Ravenclaw!Female!Reader. Vote here.
A Spencer Reid one shot. Spencer is banned from cassinos in Vegas for his card counting abilities. Y/N is also banned from the same cassinos as she is always with him. Spencer didn't have many friends in collage, just Y/N. And he was desperate to impress her when she came over on Christmas break. - Collage!Spencer x Collage!Female!Reader.
A Spencer Reid one shot, (maybe a series???). Y/N is transferred to the BAU from the Organised Crime Division. Goth!Y/N is definitely a change from the people in the BAU, from the way she dresses to the way she handles herself. She was energy drinks, cigarettes and dark romance novels to Spencers coffee, sugar addiction and Russian literature. They were so different and yet so similar. How will the BAU handle the new girl who is no one like they’d ever encountered before? And how will Y/N handle finding the one thing she was never looking for? Love. - Spencer Reid x Goth!Female!Reader.
Another Spencer Reid one shot. On a case in Texas when he meets Y/N, the lead detective on the case. They spend a lot of time on the case. She always wears Wrangler jeans and red cowboy boots. After the case, they go out for dinner and they go back to her place. - Spencer Reid x Detective!Female!Reader.
An Aaron Hotchner story. Hayley left Aaron the second she had Jack and he needed help. With his crazy work hours and impromptu starting time, Aaron needed a baby sitter. And fresh out of college, 22 year old Y/N new from Arizona is perfect for the job. Over time, Aaron starts to get feelings for Y/N, he tries to shake them as he is 13 years older than she is. Y/N is the live in babysitter. A nanny. Maybe she is a girly girl, Hello Kitty and Juicy Couture???? Maybe a slight modern!au im terms of music and books used and mentioned throughout the series???- Aaron Hotchner x Younger!Female!Reader.
More will be added to the list soon!
Hello hello! I'm sorry to disturb you, but I have been very interested in the Harts(your OCS like Theodore, Caroline, Ben, etc.). And I wanted to ask if you could write something about them and a Reader who is always trying to act tough and pass the idea that they are extremely serious and don't feel anything but become a blushing mess the moment someone compliments anything about them or gives them a little bit of affection
Hope ya don't mind individual reactions, but here we go-
Theodore:
The first to notice, but the only one to never call it out intentionally. Both sides of you are precious, of course, but he does enjoy seeing the softer side from time to time. When he notices it peaking out, Theodore will kiss the back of your palm or compliment you more frequently and close to home than his typical comments. May use a nickname every one in a while for added flavor too.
"Good morning, sunshine. You're looking as radiant as ever. I pray nobody ever takes you away."
Caroline:
The biggest tease. Does anything to see that timidity and expresses how adorable it is constantly. Smooches your warm cheeks in front of paparazzi and puts one of the resulting photos as her lockscreen. Showers you in gifts as is, so this only ups her antics.
"Darling, are you getting flustered? How cute! Come on, show me more of that adorable face hiding behind that mask. I'll buy you that coat you were eyeing if you!"
Spencer:
A mix of his mother and father. Doesn't normally point it out, but it's hard not to when you look so damn cute getting all flustered like that. Is pretty discrete with his advances. Will whisper a flirt or two while you're cuddling in bed or on the couch, or pick up something on the way home to surpise you with.
"Hey, Angel. New flower shop opened up cross the street from my job. Let's get these in a vase, then order some dinner, yea?"
Ben:
Pretty similar to his twin. Points it out every blue moon, but makes a slightly bigger deal than Spencer. Kisses your face upon noticing your shift in persona, claiming he just wants to make sure the flush is evenly spread. Like putting smaller gifts in your jacket pockets or drawers such as small plushies or your favorite snacks, and plays innocent when you eventually come across them.
"Damn - how'd those get in there? Guess sweets just attract more sweets, huh?"
Erin:
As someone who's very similar to you, he shuts down when he sees you like that for the first time.He's not used to flirting, so to see you act like that is a huge shock. It's the cuttest shit he's ever seen, but how's he supposed to react? Tries to be subtle as he slinks an arm around you and makes a vague compliment towards you. Mutters, so you may have to ask him repeat.
"I said you're fucking cute. Do I have to repeat myself a fourth time? ....cause I will."
I know I said Rajeev, Shanilla, and Mallory would get their own posts for this hypothetical reboot/ the au, but thinking about it I don't have a lot to say about the three of them to cover an individual post, or a lot of art of them either, so they're gonna share this post.
Out of the three they all didn't really have a lot, Mallory especially, but I changed the most about Rajeev.
Rajeev, now Raj, is gender fluid and goes by He/They or She/they for the most part. He and Shanilla's parents fashion designers who do designs for anything ranging from runway fashion to movie costume designs. Raj is taking fashion design courses at the Beverly Heights private art school to get ahead of the curve, Lolo is also in these classes. They still have a crush on Lolo but it's less...creepy and more so he becomes a doormat for her and her alone. She uses this to her advantage to get Raj to draw her designs for her so she can trace them and turn them in as her own. He's still Spencer's best friend and main actor in their best bros horror films, but he also often throws together cheap outfits he buys themselves so that they don't get their more expensive clothes dirty.
Shanilla is more layed back, she used to run with a group of horse girls when she was in middle school but grew out of that phase at the start of her freshman year upon realizing that she didn't want to surround herself with the kinds of people she was friends with. She does painting and sculpting at the high school she attends with her twin siblings Raj, she often helps Spencer make his props and helps Mallory design small set pieces for the films. She doesn't really have a crush on Spencer in this version, instead she's more interested in his life before living in LA since she's a recovering horse girl and he lived in rural Kansas.
Mallory honestly had nothing going on in the original show other than the fact she was nice so I built her up from scratch. In my version of the show, Mallory had a falling out with Lolo the summer before their first year of highschool, her father owns a successful company and her family is just a bit richer than Lolo's, and they had a severe argument among her finding out that Lolo was pretending to be her friend to get her dad to sell his business to Lolo's dad. When high school started however she started to hang out with Shanilla, since her old friend group crossed over into Mallory's, and Raj and of course Spencer got added when he moved to Beverly Heights. Mallory's kindness is her biggest fault, often over looking obvious red flags to be optimistic and trust somebody that really doesn't deserve it. She does painting and portraiture at the highschool and helps make set pieces and back drops for Spencer's films. She also has an almost deathly fear of ghosts due to seeing a scary movie she shouldn't have watched when she was way too young to watch it, so coincidentally she's scared of Billy at first, but she slowly warms up to him as he teaches her how to not be a class A doormat. Similarly to he and Spencer she has a SIBLING relationship with Billy.
For my designs, again if anything Rajeev changed the most, I just essentially designed a character I'd like whereas Shanilla and Mallory's designs play on their canon designs.
