I’ve been trying to get better at not drawing totally accurate spider anatomy all the time and also doing more interesting poses for taurs because they’re not just an expressive human upper body on top of some animal legs. So here’s Karleeen doing things !

I thought it would be fun to make a "drider" based on something other than a traditional web-building spider. This guy is inspired by jumping spiders and peacock spiders! Jumping spiders are wicked smart and can yeet themselves all over the place, and peacock spiders are super colorful and dance for their ladies 🥰 And yes, he wove the shirt out of his own silk lol

These kinds of spiders are also. Very, very tiny.

So use your imagination on how big this guy is 😳 He still needs a name 🥰

Male arachne and spidertaurs should embrace the sexual dimorphism!

Think of the classic, big and scary dommy mommy spider monster girl. She wants to tie you up and play with you a bit, possibly getting in some love bites. It's that "big female that eats tiny males" thing we see with real life spiders.

But what would the other side of that be? What sort of male would you expect to be the natural mate of such a female?

Probably some cute and adorably tiny spider femboy. Picture him small enough that when he rears up on his hind legs, he's still a head shorter than you.

He'd be more scared of you than you are of him, and he'd use all the tricks that real life male spiders use when courting you. He'd offer you a gift wrapped in his silk to distract you long enough for him to enjoy being close to you.

When he's finally ready to get intimate, he'd do the crab spider thing of tying you up with silk. It wouldn't be that "strong as steel" stuff that we usually hear about. It'd be something around the strength of a sheet of paper, but with that silky smoothness that feels rather nice. You'd be able to break out of it with minimal effort, but it'd help him feel safe. It lets him know that you're not going to eat him.

If you break those bindings, whether intentionally or accidentally, he is out of there like his life depends on it.

And to keep him as cute and adorable as possible, base him on a peacock spider. They tend to be rather good at avoiding arachnophobia triggers, and they do adorable mating dances. Our little arachne femboy could even have a panic dance that he does whenever he's scared (which is always).

Also, when he's running away, he doesn't do that skitter and scuttle thing spiders normally do. He bounces. He ricochets between floor, walls, and ceiling. He uses his silk for some omni-directional mobility gear techniques. And through it all, he has one pair of spider legs up in the air, flopping around like he's Kermit the Frog. He only moves in that creepy spider way when he's being sneaky, and as soon as he realizes he's been caught, he goes into flustered panic dance.

arachnusposting because i finally got a good design down for him as a child.

arachnus is a trans man. he had two supportive mothers to help him on his journey. not all transitions are the same, nor are the goals the same. it’s important to me that people see arachnus as a fat trans guy, and see that it is normal. he loves himself and his body, he doesn’t have self-esteem issues. this was his transition goal all along.

during his childhood, many spiderfolk were displaced or killed due to the bigotry in his society. he doesn’t remember his father, who died when he was very young. but he considers it an honor and privilege to grow old and, as his mother says, look more like his father with each passing day

KARLEEEN CLOTHES KARLEEEN CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!

I've been itching to redraw Karleeen's various outfits and design her new ones since forever and now I actually sat down and did it over the past few days. I wonder what her favourite colours might be !!

Not much to say here that wouldn't be obvious. When it's cold, Karleeen wears more clothes, and when it's warmer, she prefers to be barefoot and wears less clothes. They don't always cover her abdomen because culturally having your abdomen (arachnid, insect or otherwise) exposed is the same as wearing a top or a short shirt that leaves your human stomach exposed, since taurs don't have anatomy that's one to one with their "species of inspiration". Karleeen's pants tend to be loose because her legs can bend at so many places, and they open at the top (at the top of the cephalothorax or "spider back")!

Sifa Vel'Ker

Also known as my Bimbo Bug and The Dumbest Luckiest Unluckiest Adventurer Ever, Sifa Vel'Ker was originally a 5e character--a Hexblade Warlock who had no idea she was a Warlock; she just started manifesting strange powers and rolled with it.

I'm not going to bore you with all the details, but suffice to say we switched to PF2e and I am absolutely ecstatic to play her more now that our game's back on! ^-^
