New Quirk Name: Air Pump

This Transformation type Quirk allows the user to change their legs from the knee down into small air pumps. The user can condense these pumps to fill them full of air and release it as condensed air. This grants the user a high burst of movement, sending them flying through the air. This is a quick and powerful burst, letting the user bounce and redirect themselves with ease. The more the user pumps air into their legs, the more powerful the burst they unleashed, able to move the user like a blur at the maximum power output of it. This gives the user a good mobility tool, launching themselves through the air at high speeds to get around faster. If nothing else, the user would be able to body-slam their way into people as an offensive option. Though using the Quirk too much can cause these pumps to get stuck, leaving the user open. The user needs to keep some control over their breathing in order to keep the pumps going.

Just noticed that Izuku in the second half of Season 6 (In the Vigilante Deku Arc) refers to adding powers together in the same way that AFO did in the fight at Kamino.

Approximated quotes from memory, so very obviously not exact wording:

Izuku: "Fa Jin, plus Air Force, Plus One For All, 100 percent!"

AFO: "Springlike Limbs, plus Enhancer times 3, plus Strength times 4, what a wonderful combination!"

Now I'm not sure whether this is just something people with multiple quirks do, and my memory is faulty, but I don't think Tomura refers to his additional quirks in this way.

Adea, with the finely-honed mom skill of Bothering Customer Service People, decides to loudly play NOSE KARATE GAMES ASK TO SEE MANAGER, but no one responds- she attracts the attention of some glitch-ghosts before Walter slaps a wing over her mouth.

He suggests that ELECTRIC BOLT LEFT US they COLLECT BUTTERFLIES, herding them together into one of those dense swarms that seems to allow them to reach the fennec fox who keeps dropping off supplies for them. It's not a bad idea- but it's tricky to corral loose butterflies in a ghost-crowded juice bar without antagonizing some ghosts.

The two of you split up, and- well, Adea gets sort of attacked by some of the ghosts she ticked off. They phase right through the both of you, but there's a chilling sensation and a loss of motor control involved, your limbs flailing involuntarily as they do so. It's disconcerting, and Adea takes a couple hits to her Soul Integrity from smacking against tables and the like, but otherwise things go much smoother than might be expected of a bug-corralling operation in an extremely haunted room.

The swarm, this time, doesn't reveal a fennec, but rather a tired looking cat polishing a glass at the bar. They can't say they've ever been asked to serve drinks to a cloud of butterflies before, but they appear to take the whole affair in an uncanny stride, and accept the CAFÉ VOUCHER. It's good for 20 Coin's worth of the house menu:

Thinking again how Izuku’s quirks parallel AFO’s quirks: Black Whip=Rivet Stab, Float=Air Walk, Danger Sense=Search?, Smokescreen=Infrared?(a reversed quirk? I know it’s a stretch), Fa Jin=Springlike limbs, so that just leaves the last quirk.

Some kind of warp quirk would be fun but it seems too good for Second.

There is also telekinesis and a healing quirk in AFO's lot.

I'm not sure I see all this here. . . but lets see what sense we can make of what we got. I see 'spear' like bones? The spirally things sticking out of the skin, but they seem pretty useless in any fighting style I've seen because all the spears are pointed up. I guess it makes the bones into metal. springlike limbs are pretty obvious. hypertrophy explains why the arm (arms?) are so big. Strength enhancer and kinetic booster would probably not be observable. Multiplier - is that why we have so many arms making up this arm? I'm confused as to how air walk affects his arm at all, but it does explain why he's floating. And rivets?

Rivets? I see no rivets. That seems like a kinda useless quirk anyhow.

Hmmm for the kidnapping ask game How about Mina?

Right ok slight tangent here yall remember when Tokuda was going over kids in 1a who might possibly be All Might’s successor and he just basically lists every kid who got to the second round of 1v1s... except Mina. even tho her cheerful exuberance and fighting style is *much* closer to All Might than like tokoyami or todoroki. yeah. hm. wonder why she slipped his mind. /s

Anyway lets say Tomura is letting any of those biases affect him slightly less or whatever, and when rifling through the intel the traitor gave him on the class, he finds the discrepancy of the high placing student with few offers, of the charismatic and powerful and seen highly middle school with the actual grades she scores at UA. tomura hasnt gone to school past like. first grade so that stands out more to him, and he wonders if she either cheated back then and cant now, or if she just isnt treated or seen well by UA and the heroes. He’s not sure if she’s potential recruit material, or textbook brainwashed smiley hero, or just someone weird. So he muses aloud on it where Kurogiri, AfO, and/or the Doc can hear.

And whoever it is pauses, asks him to describe that kid again. And then they sit up, because it sounds like the girl who gave the wrong directions to Gigantomachia a year or so ago. AfO hadn’t been pleased, even if he did eventually get the springlike limbs quirk it took three times the resources and time he had first planned to use. He’s rather miffed about that, so Shigaraki is told to ‘definitely do something about her’

Shiggy’s on a different brainwave than AfO is and figures he means recruitment, so grab first and figure out a plan later.

Springlike Limbs and Overhaul QM?

New Quirk Name: Spring Rate

This Emitter type Quirk activates whenever the user touches something, causing a coiling-like effect on the target. This imparts the properties of a spring onto the target, with the user able to apply this effect up to medium ranges from the point of contact. The user can cause the Quirk target to target itself or the area around it, such as suddenly making a floor tile into a spring tile trap or causing a door to coil up to launch it at someone. The user can apply this to people as well, like coiling their own legs back to jump forward or launching someone with their coiled body. Once the springs are uncoiled, the target returns to normal. This gives the user a good mix of options, able to turn their surroundings into a death trap of springs. They can launch random objects with springs, booby trap the area with spring tiles, coil up the terrain to help get around faster, fire off enemies into the horizon, launch allies to move them around, augment themselves with springy additions, or simply throw themselves through the air.  Though the Quirk requires contact with something to make work. Applying this to targets can end up having unpredictable and dangerous results with how things launch, such as accidentally breaking or hurting someone, including the user.

Hello, I was wondering if you could think of any support items or super moves a hero with Springlike Limbs could use? Like, their Quirk allows them to compress their body parts then shoot them outward like a spring

My main thought was about their joints. If their limbs compress (I keep picturing Bellamy’s bane bane no mi), then I’d be concerned for the nearby joints that would take the brunt of the force. Like if their arm compresses and springs out, their shoulder could risk getting injured or dislocated. Same thing with the knees and hips for the legs. Risk of those types of injuries could occur from springing off as well as when they land. You could look into gear that would support and pad those joints, though I think technique of how they jump and land would play a larger impact.

Perhaps goggles or something to shield their eyes from the wind while bouncing around. Something protective may help in case they’re springing somewhere but they can’t stop and crash into a wall or something (at least like a helmet which would go well with the eye guard I mentioned). Similar along that thought, they could have something to slow them down. Good boots and gloves, too, since those will take the brunt of the hit when they spring back onto the ground.

As far as attacks, instead of using this quirk to move around, you could land a devastating blow by coiling your arm or leg and using that for extra force when you punch or kick someone. This one I straight up took from One Piece, but Bellamy used his bane bane no mi to spring between a bunch of different buildings to build up massive momentum before springing towards his opponent.

I am perhaps not super familiar with the cat au. Are certain people just cats? or are they getting turned into cats? Is AFO a cat on purpose or is it voluntary

I'm just imagining AFO getting stuck as a cat and just latching onto Izuku first b/c sad kid & he isn't completely heartless re: lending him a healing quirk and then by the time he's ready to take the quirk back Izuku has mumble-talked enough that he's like "cool, a smart one. At least being stuck here wouldn't be completely boring"

The fact that Inko and Izuku quickly give in to his rejection of kibble and offer him cat-safe people food is also a large factor. He tried going to his allies, okay? He got kicked through a wall. He may have many quirks but he is in a cat body, that's kind of limiting (he doesn't have the right muscles to use the physical quirks safely, which he found out by spraining a paw almost immediately)

So he's like "maybe this will wear off eventually on it's own"

Izuku get's a new healing quirk registered at age 7. AFO leaves it for like a week, all the insights the kid found have been fascinating but he's kind of getting bored of just hearing the one get analyzed, so he boops him in the face and swaps it out for Springlike Limbs.

Izuku notices the new quirk when he jumps into the ceiling in his excitement. He gets a scratch on his head and sprains his ankle, and quickly realizes the healing quirk isn't working anymore. They go back to the quirk doctor and do some testing. The docs are completely baffled - his body really just went "healing quirk who? I only know Springlike Limbs"

This happens maybe five more times before Izuku connects it to Cat's boops (yes, AFO's cat name is Cat, I don't make the rules)

His quirk gets renamed to Cat Roulette, with everyone just assuming AFO/Cat (who only showed up when Izuku's quirk did) is some kind of sentient quirk that changes what his quirk does randomly.

There is no sludge incident b/c AFO is a cat so AM is still at peak health pretty much. But he does start teaching at UA b/c he is aging.

And now that Izuku is at UA and quirk use is encouraged AFOcat can come with him.

Which leads to the first heroics class, where AFOcat goes for All Might's throat On Sight. He can't use physical quirks like this so he's functionally just the world's angriest cat. Izuku has a physical enhancer on the first day and Todoroki sees that and sees his sentient quirk animosity and asks if he's his secret love child in front of everyone in the locker rooms.

He lays out his logic. "You have a strength quirk just like him, your hair has a similar textural to his-" everyone: ??? "-you both smile quite a lot. He stuttered similarly to how you do when bombarded with questions. And it would only make sense for your repressed animosity towards him for hiding your family away from the public to express itself in the form of violent outbursts from your sentient quirk."

Izuku is denying it, Bakugou is denying it but then gets to the part where deku's dad has been working abroad in America for pretty much ever and like a solid 3 or 4 of the guys are convinced. It really doesn't help that AFOcat hisses every time anyone implies that his son (if it's not dad for one he's basically adopted him by now - hero or not he could change his mind eventually, probably. He only really failed at it the one time...) could possibly be related to that oaf. A betting circle starts (despite Iida's protest). The girls get in on it after Kaminari fills them in.

It gets worse the next morning with the media at the gates when Todoroki, when asked about what it's like having All Might as a teacher, expresses his disappointment over finding out that the number one hero was a deadbeat dad. He does not elaborate, he just drops the bombshell and goes to class.
