I don't think I've ever read a single piece of postmodern or deconstructionist criticism that was as flagrantly "like, what do words even really mean, man, isn't it all subjective?" as this asinine quote. decades of assault on the liberal arts so STEM morons can pull this for a quick buck. revolting.

explaining modern brand names to a Victorian
me: so just like. a word, usually.
Victorian: a word related to the product, or-
me: no just a random word
Victorian: huh. because I'd have thought
me: yeah
Victorian: a word related to the product's alleged best qualities
me: no no it's just any word really. the founder might have some reason behind it, but it only makes sense to them most of the time
Victorian: interesting
me:
Victorian:
Victorian: but definitely misspelled right
me: oh EXTREMELY misspelled

hi everyone! no page today, probably not sunday either. my pc has been out of commission for over a month so i've been drawing on my laptop--but i'm getting to the point where i really would like to 3d model my backgrounds to make them a little easier on me and give me more energy to experiment/make pages nicer, so i'm going to try to hold out until my pc gets fixed and i can do so for these next couple of pages.
it'll be a lot of front-loaded work, but it'll be worth it in the long run, i think!

and then you can say "well it's your fault for posting art publicly, that means it's free for anyone to do literally anything they want to with it" we're talking about artists with real well-paying jobs, do you think it's their decision if or how their art was distributed by their commissioner? do you really think every artist has had complete control over every instance of their art online? do you really think artists were supposed to psychically prophesize there would be climate-hurting-machines that could make shitty versions of their art as a side effect because they posted their art online (necessary to maintain any kind of audience or living as an independent artist btw). you'd be wrong, lmao!! internet equivalent of saying "if you didn't want me taking your picture you shouldn't have gone out in public"

Clavier, the glamrock DJMM that's now just an uncanny valley silicone-faced animatronic that barely looks like djmm. Her AU stopped having her Dr. Coomer "there's nothing there" religious-existential crisis be the focus (though that is still DEFINITELY there), instead focusing more on the whole trans allegory of "robot transitioning to human" in order to become a part of human society.
Her attempts at trying to fundraise/become a part of human society goes viral for all the wrong reasons with all the wrong attention. Unfortunately the world's spotlight is on her and she happens to be a bunch of demographics that spotlight hates.
