Virat Kohli's Coach Defends His Strike Rate Amidst Criticism
In a recent IPL match against Rajasthan Royals, Virat Kohli's exceptional performance, which included a 72-ball 113 runs, sparked both admiration and criticism. Despite his remarkable innings, Kohli's strike rate came under scrutiny, with comparisons made to the slowest centuries in IPL history.
Tumblr media
Kohli's childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, swiftly came to his defense against strike rate critics, dismissing them as part of a lobby with an agenda. "Look, this is a lobby which is running an agenda. They're just pushing an agenda, and as fans or true analysts, we don’t care about their agenda," Sharma expressed in an interview on India News.
Sharma emphasized that true cricket enthusiasts would appreciate Kohli's prowess, stating, "A person who knows even the 'C' of cricket would never do such nonsense." He highlighted the importance of considering match context and team struggles before criticizing individual performances.
Addressing the detractors, Sharma suggested that their comments were merely attempts to grab headlines. "People who are saying this nonsense, I think they don’t know the context of the match, what the situation of the match was and how the team was struggling," Sharma observed.
Despite criticism, Kohli's overall performance in the IPL has been notable, with 316 runs in five games at a strike rate of 146.33 and an average of 105.33. Notably, Kohli has contributed significantly to his team's total, accounting for 36.36% of the runs scored in the ongoing tournament.
The debate around strike rates in cricket remains contentious, but as Sharma affirms, true appreciation of the game requires a deeper understanding of match dynamics and player contributions beyond mere statistics.

I think at this point my brain has been tricked into believing that Megatron is supposed to be a secondary, generally good-aligned protagonist, or at least a more neutral character, instead of, you know, the main villain of the franchise
I blame TF One, Earthspark, probably a bit of MTMTE with all the fanart I see, probably myself for my AU where Megs is the secondary protagonist, and too much megop fanfiction, of which is usually set in the first two aforementioned series

Koleda, Rina, and Grace got new EN VAs, allegedly over labor disputes. At this point, Nekomata is the only launch character S rank who hasn't had their VA replaced. I don't get how any EN voice actors are working with Hoyo at this point when it's abundantly clear they'll replace you at the drop of a hat and refuse to play ball with the union.

Echoing other's reminders that while the basic rates might sound high, VERY few people are booked consistently week after week. More often an actor might book a week of work every month. Or might book a couple of months for one project, but then not book another project for weeks or months more. So rates are higher that a standard 9-5, because they are not working every day or every week.
Plus, just as a note: in LA, one would need to make around $45-50 an hour at a standard 9-5 to afford a single bed apartment. Most of us live in shared housing because our hourly rates aren't high enough either. 🙃

Long Johns - STRIKE! - 6/10
This one was a really fun play- over the top characters, plot that was wildly imaginative and twists and turns the whole way through. Honestly, one of the better of their older ones, and I don't know why it gets so much hate. DI Mannering is such an underratedly fun character, and AJ's villain was a perfect foil for him. Is it Mannering or Manning? Why have you done this, Luke? Larry will always be alive in my mind, rich and deep character that he is- Tom corpsing as a corpse will never not be funny. I will also be attempting to get Czechasloflakian citizenship post-haste. Why do all the names in this play rhyme? No one can tell you. Terry, Jerry, Larry and Harry... it was honestly a bit impressive. I won't spoil the end, but there were some incredibly brave choices made there, and made all the more fun by none of it being planned. The reason I'm marking this down is because it was a bit messy, and the plot wasn't quite as satisfying as most of their other plays. Honestly though, I would give it a 6+ if that existed.

Have you ever just been looking at Belphie while he's in his Demon form and thought "Wow his tail looks a lot like cotton candy" It makes me wonder if I'd even get the chance to give it a nibble without getting told off.
Still related to him but also his tail looks so fun to play around with. Kind of like how a cat will play with toys, batting them around. I want to do that to his tail. And if he asked about it I'd just say "Oh sorry I finally let intrusive thoughts win" but what would he think of me then :(
-⭐️🎤
Well rockstar anon (is that who you are supposed to be with those emojis? It is now), I think if you said "I finally let the intrusive thoughts win" to Belphie after he hoists you in the air after you took a nibble of his tail, he would laugh a little.
You're bouncing around all full of energy, and nibbling on his demon-formed tail like a child. Like a kitten, or a cub of some sort. Cute. But you know he hasn't washed his tail in a while, right? Can't you taste that grime and oil? The little bits of lint? Belphie tries to take better care of himself but it's a lot of fucking effort, bathing while still in his demon form, and at the end of the day, he just forgets to brush out the knots and scrub it properly for weeks. If you want to play with Belphie, you should nibble something else--- like his sleeves, or the hair on his head (he remembers to clean that more often). Or don't chew on him at all. That's probably the cleanest option if he's being real with you.
Batting around his tail while he sleeps might make Belphie instinctively whip his tail side to side, swishing and flicking at your hands as if they're flies-- which might make you bat at his tail more, and result in more flicks and swishes. Until Belphie wakes up with an annoyed thwap of his tail on your face.
Your "intrusive thoughts" won? Do you know what would happen if his intrusive thoughts won?
Belphie would squeeze your cheeks in his palms so hard your eyes popped out like a pug, and he'd shake you so hard and fast the optic nerve would snap, leaving you blind. You don't even have to be doing anything wrong, it's not about punishing you, it's about the fact that you're there, and he can't help but think to hurt you. And its not just you-- Belphie thinks of hurting all of his brothers, of hurting Diavolo and Barbatos, of doing things that would nuke his reputation, of doing things he doesn't even really want to do. But the fact he doesn't want to do them is what makes them intrusive. Even if Belphie is a little sadistic towards you, he's not going to pop your eyes out or play too rough with you... Not impulsively. Those would have to be thought-out actions. Acting on impulse is how pets like you wind up dead at the bottom of the stairs, remember?
Good thing he doesn't do what his intrusive thoughts say, hmm? You need to learn a little self-control. Or correct terminology, human.

Prompt: Strike
rated: g || gen: Eddie, Buck, Bathena || for @118dailydrabble
“Cap!” Eddie put a hand on Bobby’s shoulder - a risky move that was as likely to get Eddie decked as it was to provide comfort. But he knew his captain needed to take a step back. “You always said if you needed search and rescue, it was me and Buck you’d want coming after you. How’s this different?”
Eddie buried the fork end of his halligan into the twisted metal of the Athena's car door.
He looked at Buck and they both nodded.
“Strike!” Eddie called out, and Buck whacked the blunt end of his ax against the halligan.
“Strike!” He called out again.
And again.
Until the tool was in place.
And they pried the door open.
