Melon, Mint, and Cucumber Iced Tea Recipe

Ingredients:

4 cups of water

2-3 bags of your preferred tea (green tea pairs nicely)

2 cups cubed melon (cantaloupe or honeydew work well)

1 small cucumber, thinly sliced

Fresh mint leaves

Ice cubes

Honey or another sweetener to taste (optional)

Melon balls, cucumber slices, and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions:

Boil the water in a large pot or kettle. Once boiling, remove it from the heat and add the tea bags. Let them steep for about 3-5 minutes, then remove the tea bags.

In the meantime, blend the melon cubes until smooth. Pass the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids, collecting the juice in a bowl.

Add the sweetener to the warm tea if desired, stirring until it dissolves.

Allow the tea to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate it until it's thoroughly chilled.

In a large pitcher, combine the chilled tea, melon juice, and cucumber slices. Add mint leaves to taste. Let it infuse for about 30 minutes in the fridge.

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour the infused tea over the ice, making sure each glass gets some cucumber slices and mint leaves.

Garnish with a skewer of melon balls, a slice of cucumber, and a sprig of mint on the rim of each glass.

Enjoy immediately and savor this delightful Melon, Mint, and Cucumber Iced Tea on a warm day!

i actually love this so much i'm so sorry i can't stop giggling.

imagine: post–war buckbucky, living together in a cute little apartment or rancher with a couple cats (they don't need a dog, they've got john, that's more than enough lol). naturally this means they've got spray bottles scattered around the house to protect the kitchen counters and the arms of couches from kitty claws.

thinking about john being very food motivated and always trying to waltz into the kitchen while gale is cooking to steal food behind his back, and gale doesn't really mind, but sometimes john eats just plain ingredients that he's not done with and then he has to chop up more and it's just a tiny bit frustrating (he can't ever actually stay mad though.)

one evening after an incident like this, john, unaware of the extra work he's created for gale and the patience he's drained, comes back in twenty minutes later for a second sweep through, and the moment his hand settles on a sliced tomato, he's spritzed in the face with a sudden blast of cold water.

the look of absolute betrayal and shock he gives gale as he blinks at him with water dripping from his curls, eyelashes clumped together, hand frozen on the tomato slice. gale's got the spray bottle aimed at him like it's a weapon and john can't help the laugh he barks out as he goes to pick up the tomato slice again in defiance, not expecting the second spray that gets him right in the open mouth this time.

sputters out a "hello?" and gale just twitches the bottle at him in a wordless 'and i'll do it again' and john reluctantly retracts his hand with a grumble, stealing the towel draped over gale's shoulder to dry his face, muttering "like i'm one of the damn cats" on his way out. only when he's gone does gale let out a snort, leaning against the counter as he laughs with the image of drowned–rat, kicked–puppy john replaying in his mind.

(bonus: one day they've got friends over in the dining room and john follows gale back into the kitchen under the guise of 'helping', but he's all touchy when he comes up behind him, pressing his hips a little too hard against gale's, and gale unthinkingly reaches for the spray bottle and gives him enough of a spritz to offend him out of his inopportune horniness lmfao.)

where are all the 200k word post-day of unity fics where alador is going through a nasty and increasingly messy divorce and trying to help rebuild the boiling isles and also fixing his relationship with his kids but he's also struggling with having his own autonomy again and his own guilt over not being an actual father to his kids and he doesnt know who is outside of his responsibilities of work/family bcus he never had actual friends once he left school and once upon a time alador was the one to show darius there's more to life than what you can do for other people and now darius has the opportunity to help alador relearn the same thing and maybe together they can both rediscover what real love feels like again after years of bitterness

Helloooo Ah, good question! I don't have a favorite flavor! I love everything that doesn't taste like watermelon (watermelon has been my enemy since childhood) But right now I am on vacation in another country and there is a wonderful coconut-flavored ice cream in two oreo cookies. Just perfect for me!

Ingredients:

4 cups of water

2-3 tea bags of your choice (green tea or black tea work well)

2 cups fresh watermelon cubes

Fresh mint leaves

Ice cubes

1-2 tablespoons honey or sweetener of choice (optional)

Watermelon slices and mint sprigs, for garnish

Instructions:

Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags. Allow to steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

While the tea is steeping, puree the watermelon cubes in a blender until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids, collecting the juice in a bowl.

Remove the tea bags from the pot and add honey or your choice of sweetener while the tea is still warm, stirring until dissolved.

Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour in the chilled tea, leaving some room at the top for the watermelon juice.

Add a splash of watermelon juice to each glass and stir gently to combine.

Garnish with fresh mint leaves, a sprig of mint, and a slice of watermelon on the rim of the glass.

Serve immediately and enjoy your cool, refreshing Watermelon Mint Iced Tea!
