Just getting around to taking a good look at this doll.

Apparently, miss ma'am is sewn into her costume. No opening whatsoever.

Why mattell, why 😒

I guess I get it as she's a collector doll, not intended to be redressed. And sewing her in probably allowed for a sleeker fit.

Maybe I'll get a seam ripper to see if I can take the suit off without completely destroying it.

Ok, so I read a few more, and I had some bizarre and interesting moments. Most of them focused on the attempts of Kara to keep herself a secret from the world.

In the most ridiculous of ways, usually involving a robot or a puppet of some kind.

But a constant theme is that she has to keep her identity a secret for Superman to have a secret weapon. So she can't find a loving family and a place to belong. Cause every time she accidently find herself adopted (yes, accidentally), she quickly realises she has to find a reason to leave cause otherwise they would find out about her powers and cousin Superman said she's not allowed. It is heartbreaking at times.

So I already hate Superman in this version, but sometimes come a story that intensify my hate to this version.

It's the first time Kara encounters red kryptonite. Its effect is to erase some of her memories.

She ends up caring for a blind couple in Smallville (who got blind because of the red k too). She goes to a Superman museum, cause of course there's one. Where there's a statue of Superman made up from the biggest diamond in the world. A statue that sups carved himself, because of course he did.

She ended up revealing herself, and the people of smallville cheered for the new hero. The people she took care of regain their sight as she regained her memories and told her they cared for her and supported her work as Supergirl and said that they would love to adopt her. Kara happily agrees, finally happy to find a place for herself.

Superman, of course, doesn't care about her and only worries about the surprise effect she might give him if she remains a secret. So, despite everything, he uses a machine to erase the memories of AN ENTIRE CITY and Kara's of the last week.

So he forced her back to the orphanage and to live in secret, forgetting her new potential parents she grew to care for. It's just so sad.
