Adhesion is the stickiness that water molecules have for substances. This is what happens when water stickiness and surface tension are broken and a laminar flow becomes turbulent.

What is Surface Tension?
Surface tension can be defined as the property of a liquid that allows it to resist an external force due to the cohesive nature of its molecules. It is essentially the measure of the strength of the liquid’s surface layer. This phenomenon is what causes liquid droplets to form spherical shapes and enables some insects to walk on water. Enroll now at Tutoroot.

The dyne test pen is a convenient tool used to measure the surface energy of materials. It is commonly used in industries such as printing, packaging, and plastics to ensure proper adhesion of inks, coatings, and adhesives. The pen contains a special solution that, when applied to a surface, will form a continuous line if the surface energy is sufficient, or break into droplets if it is not. This allows for quick and easy quality control of materials before production processes begin. The dyne test pen is a reliable and cost-effective solution for assessing surface energy.

Backswimmers
Tumblr media
Backswimmers rule the surface of ponds, streams, and other bodies of water. These insects spend much of their time clinging just beneath the air-water interface, where they hunt larvae and other insects. (Image and video credit: Deep Look) Read the full article

The new @storybots season is out on Netflix! Here are some practical effects shot for an episode about how planets are formed, directed by @nateetheis. These effects are made using food coloring, milk products, and surfactants, and shot as time lapses over a period of several minutes. I made about a hundred of these effects passes for the episode's third act, where the main characters witness a nebula collapsing into a star and the resulting debris coalescing into planets. For anyone interested in this sort of imagery, the Shanks FX series by @joeyshanks on Youtube is a great introduction. #storybots #practicaleffects #stopmotion #surfacetension https://www.instagram.com/p/B1KQ9ihAuig/?igshid=5nr5enfx6lxp
