Cats OCs
It seems it's time for me to have some little creatures of my own. I won't be able to try and draw them until my drawing supplies escape the mail, so for now they just get written intros. These guys come as a bonded trio, and I love them all. I have failed at short summaries, as per usual, so all shall be below the read more.
General Story
Loopdelyn and Char Murphy were both show cats owned by the same woman. Char had been with her for a while by the time she bought Loop, but they bonded pretty quickly. It only took a month for Loop to get bored and start escaping the house to explore. Char found out shortly after and started to follow her to (try to) keep her out of trouble. After a couple month of occasional wanderings near their house, their owner decided she wanted to start breeding Char. Char was not into that idea, so their next trip out was a permanent one. They met Quoroclaw after a few days, shortly after they reached London proper. They had just started to wander down a small alley that smelled like it had food and other cats when he jumped out and herded them away. When he found out they were completely new to the city he took it upon himself to keep them alive. He's the one who introduces Char and Loop to the existence of Macavity and the general state of street cat life in London, and then guides them to better places to sleep and hunt. After they've been together for a while he reveals that he knows so much about Macavity because he is a former henchcat who's been hiding out of fear of Macavity finding him again. Char is the one who stumbles upon the Jellicles, who Quoro hadn't mentioned, and asks him about them. He's hesitant to go to the Junkyard out of worry about how they'd react to a henchcat, and hadn't mentioned the Jellicles because he didn't want Char and Loop to go to them and leave him alone again. Eventually, however, Char and Loop convince him to try it and they all set off for the Junkyard.
Loopdelyn
First of the three that I came up with, and the one who has the clearest visual design in my mind.
Design: Bimetallic (sunshine silver) siberian, because it's just a gorgeous color and I wanted to play with it. Costume wise, that means her back is silver and the rest of her is a light gold with a very pale belly. In my mind she has swirly patterning to transition between the colors as opposed to the hatching that's standard for Cats costuming. She's also pretty fluffy, so would have shoulder fluffs, a decently big tail, and kinda thick leg/arm warmers. I've been imagining her with hazelish eyes
Personality: Very adventurous and exploratory, always getting into things that she maybe shouldn't because they looked interesting. Will try to befriend any living thing that stands still in front of her for more than a second. She's on the oldest side of kittenhood, and has learned a decent amount about how to be responsible and serious from Char and Quoro, but prefers to ignore those lessons if possible. A giant fan of flips, climbing, and general acrobatic shenanigans, though they aren't always the biggest fan of her since she hasn't adjusted to having grown big yet.
Char Murphy
Likely to become my favorite, she's just got my favorite vibes.
Design: Calico Cymric, because I have a potentially unhealthy love of calicos and torties and Cymrics are fun. I see her presentation of calico as looking like you took a white and orange cat, with the white concentrated on the chest, one paw, and maybe some on the face, and just covered her in soot. Black is her main color, but it looks like it's layered on top of the other colors. Very fluffy, she gets to have a mini-mane I think, as a treat. Big leg and arm warmers, left arm warmer is nearly pure white. Cymrics are tailless cats, so I think she gets some extra fluff on a belt instead of the normal tail belt. Cymrics are also normally medium sized cats, but Char is an unusually large example of her breed.
Personality: If Char was a human, she would be a lesbian lumberjack. As it stands, she is instead a very chill cat. Few things manage to bother her, she's very go with the flow. She's gotten very good at cat herding (heh) and convincing Loopdelyn to get back on track when necessary. She prefers being quiet and steady to being the center of attention or cracking jokes, but will occasionally interject deadpan remarks into Loopdelyn's rambling that throw her entirely off track in laughter/surprise. She is very strong and very aware of the fact that she is strong, meaning that 90% of the time she is consciously the gentlest person ever. In the remaining 10% of the time, usually when something is threatening her/the people she cares about, she takes full advantage of that strength to power through the obstacle in front of her with more brute force than technique.
Quoroclaw
The final addition, and the most annoying to design visually
Design: I have gone back and forth about what this guy looks like since I came up with him, and I'm still not 100% on him. Current strongest contender is giving him Karpati patterning, which we're gonna pretend is an occurring thing in London street cats instead of just eastern european ones. This leaves him as primarily black, with white on his ears, tail, muzzle, and toes. Around his eyes is still black, meaning eyeliner and eyebrow designs would be done in white. He's a shorthair, so unlike the others he doesn't get additional fluffs anywhere. His right ear is missing, and he's pretty scarred, though the scarring is probably decently covered by fur so wouldn't be too visible on a costume. He is also a very small cat.
Personality: Quoroclaw is a bit of a nervous wreck, and fairly so. He hasn't fully left the constant vigilance mindset that leaving Macavity put him in, and will frequently startle at noises or unexpected movements. He's very smart, however, good at planning and noticing things others don't. Where Char brute forces her way through problems, Quoro fights dirty and smart. He knows he doesn't have the strength and size to force his way through anything, so he uses tricks, hides when he needs to, and plays mind games. While with Macavity he learned to be vicious, both in fights and in general interaction, and is still working to roll that back and not snap out at people when he feels threatened, defensive, or unstable. When he gets overwhelmed and starts to get mean, he retreats to go find Char to have quiet with someone he can't really hurt. When he is in a stable place, he deeply enjoys teaching others the things he knows. His lessons are one of the only times Loopdelyn will actually sit still and fully focus on something.
The End!
Those are my three, and the general thoughts I currently have about them! I'm very happy to get them out of my head and into the wider world here.

The ivy green building on the corner was rarely visited. It’s white pillars with gold swirly capitals looked inviting as you had just moved to the apartment complex across the street and were in need of some entertainment, having moved to a new town all by your self. Through the cloudy show window you saw litterary classics leaning against small mahogany painting aisle and crystals in all different shapes and sizes, all scattered across a velvet maroon piece of cloth.
You leaned against the window, sheilding your eyes from the sun using your hands as you looked inside but to your disappointment you saw nothing but your own reflection. The warmth of the sun radiated on your back as a cool breeze stinged your cheeks. ‘It sure would be nice to sit in the small shop and read’ you thought as you wrapped your hands around the chipped golden door handle, pulling it down and being exposed to the smell of bound books.
The bell above the old wooden door rang as you entered through the rusty ivy green door, embellished with small colored glass panes.
“Welcome to I.N bookshop, how can i-”
Jeongin peeked from behind a big book, fascinated over how such a cute girl had entered his dusty little shop. His round glasses covered most of his face,  light pink cheeks hiding behind them. Putting the aged leather book away he stood up from his seat and scratched his thick, slightly curly black locks. This situation was unusual to say the least. The shop was after all only sought out by elders that wanted to find the books they had read in their teenage years when youth still glowed around them.
A smile spread across your face as you saw the young boy shifting his eyes over the piles of grubby books, some of them piling up hindering you from coming closer. He blushed upon the state of the store but promptly walked up to you, keeping his eyes glued to the creaky floorboards underneath his feet.
“Oh, hi u-uhm... I’m Jeongin! Nice to meet you” he said sheepishly, eventually sneaking a glance of your cute face.
“Hi, nice to meet you. I’m y/n! I just moved across the street a couple of days ago and have just been staring at the shop from my window. Thought I might...c-check it out”.
You felt a shyness creep up on you, shifting your skirt slightly as you felt Jeongin’s looming eyes on your cleavage, silence widened over the small wooden cabinet-like shop.
Jeongin snapped back into reality after you looked at him questionably, your head tilted as you tried to cover yourself from his predatory gaze with your hands. The curly haired boy gulped before shoving his delicate veiny hands into the pockets of his black dress pants.
“Uhm.. so.. w-what do you usually read?” he asked while peering up. Looking into the same direction you saw a cozy half loft nuzzled into the far right of the shop, a corroded ladder being the only way to get up there.
“I like pretty much anything,,, d-do you have any favorites?” you asked shyly as your gaze returned to the floor, seeing books piled up around your feet.
He laughed timidly as he made his way over to the rusty ladder, stepping over heaps of untouched books and guiding you to do the same, kicking and pushing some piles away.
“I usually sit up there and read so all of my favorites are hidden from the customers heh...” he anxiously grabbed the back of his neck, looking down to the left as he spoke.
“We can sit up there if you like!” Jeongin added, his voice getting excited since he gets to talk about his favorite literary works with you! Shyly, you nodded as your hands wrapped around both sides of the ladder, stepping onto the first step. Cautiously you climbed up and with every step you could see more of the loft unfolding in front of your eyes, your gaze on floor level. Jeongin decided to help you by holding the ladder, making sure you didn’t fall but this soon proved to be a mistake. He looked up with the intention of seeing how far up you’d gotten but his eyes landed underneath your skirt, your light pink lace panties on display for his puppy eyes to see. His breath hitched upon seeing the outline of your cunt and his hormones were flying like sparks, causing a painful erection to form inside his boxers.
After what seemed like an eternity of fumbling on the ladder you finally stood on the half loft, carefully peeking down to see Jeongin still gripping the ladder while his cheeks were flaming red.
“uhm,,, you coming up or..?”
He cleared his throat as he looked up, seemingly lost in thoughts.
“Yeah,,, totally” he said awkwardly while climbing up. You offered him your hand as he neared the loft which he grabbed, seizing the opportunity to hold your soft hand that were enhanced by small gold rings and a bracelet. His heart was in his throat as your touch effected him more than he thought. He coughed to clear the nervosity from his gut but to no avail.
When his hands travaled down to his pockets that’s when you noticed the tent between his two legs. A thousand thoughts flashed through your mind as your body came to a standstill. Should I run away and never look back? Should I help the poor boy? After all, he seemed awfully lonely enclosed in these 4 walls all day long and so were you, not having anyone to contact in the new city.
Jeongin noticed your stiff figure, the light mumbling of a radio being heard from the white speakers on a small coffee table next to two old mustard yellow armchairs. Your eyes eventually met his. His gaze was as sweet as honey and his musky scent enhanced by the aroma of the ancient books. You felt yourself tensing up, your crossed legs clenching as you broke the eye contact with the fox-like boy. His eyes hooded whilst being filled with a bashful aura.
“Kiss me”
You blurt out without even thinking. The neediness in your cunt growing wetter by every minute. Jeongin’s eyes brown orbs widened.
“W-what...here? Now..?”
“Don’t act dumb. I see...t-that” you glanced down at his erection for a split second, gulping as you saw the size.
Flustered, Jeongin tried to cover himself from your eyes as a hot flash descended down his body. His blushed state, his innocent eyes hiding behind those black wired glasses and his veiny hands peeking through the paws of his dark blue sweater made you just wanna slam him against a wall, taking his innocence from him.
You inched closer to him, his face in level with yours due to your similar heights. Your head tilted slightly, a pleading expression contorting across your features as he stared at your plush lips, wide eyed. His delicate hands form into hard fists, trying his best to not let his loneliness get to him.
But he’s too weak.
Cupping your crimson cheeks, he pulls you into a deep kiss and without hesitating you kiss him back on his precious coral lips. Your hands explored his body and to your surprise a toned abdomen was hiding beneath his warm appearance. Coaxing his tongue, you lick his bottom lip, moaning into the kiss as his hands stroked your back and gropes your ass. Heat rose to your cheeks as your cunt was sopping, having not been touched like this for a while but you weren’t the only one reacting this way. Your hands wandered down before momentarily stopping, you hesitated before palming the dark haired boy through his slacks but was pleased once you earned a moan from his petal-like lips. You pulled away from the fiery kiss, smirking as you spoke in a slightly hoarse voice.
“Sensitive babyboy, I barely touched you”
He stiffens in your arms that were wrapped around his waist, his eyes settling anywhere but on yours. With a cocky smile you grab his tiny face by the jaw and force him to look into your lustful eyes.
“You’re a virgin, right?” you asked with a smile on your lips.
“N-no,, no I’m not!” Jeongin huffed out, visibly flustered.
“I don’t like people that lie”.
Your cold voice scared Jeongin but the fear added fuel to his neediness. He needed you. You pushed him down, the boy landing in one of the dusty armchairs with a thump.
“Y-yes I am a...v-virgin”
He hesitated uttering those words, his lip quivering from the sexual tension but he also felt vulnerable, not having anyone to talk to about such matters. Jeongin watched you with hungry eyes as you pulled your shirt over your head, disheveling your hair in the process.
“What you staring at? Come on, off with your clothes” you said as you pointed towards his member. He obeyed in an instant but not losing eye contact with the soft skin that you revealed once you stepped out of your skirt that was now pooling on the floor, leaving you with nothing than your bra and panties. Jeongin’s hands were shaking as he tried to unbutton his pressed slacks. You rolled your eyes at his pitiful attempt.
Your knees hit the wooden flooring as you helped him remove his pants, Jeongin bucking his hips slightly causing you to pull them down the entire way. Embarrassingly enough his precum had already created a wet stain on his boxers which made you snicker. You trace along his clothed dick with your fingertip, feeling him pulsating under your touch as blood accumilated between his legs.
“How cute. Babyboy is throbbing from anticipation, isn’t that right?” you cooed to which he glared at you, mad for being humiliated by someone he barely knew but secretly enjoying it in his perverted fantasies.
Upon pulling down his boxers you were greeted by his erect member that was barely touching his clothed abdomen. Your mouth watered from the sight, how fine purple veins snaked up his shaft and how his sensitive carmoisine tip glistened with a droplet of precum trickling down. You glanced up at his slightly puffy face and he nodded as if you had just asked him for premission. Using the tip of your tongue you lapped up his precum like an animal, eager to taste his sweetness as you pursed your lips and inserted only the tip into your wet mouth.
Jeongin’s knuckles whitened as he gripped onto the armrests for dear life, his orgasm already looming around him due to his inexperienced nature. Your hands stroke his inner thigh wanting him to relax but that was the last thing on Jeongin’s mind. If he relaxed he would cum faster and that would be too much embarrassment to handle in one day, especially in front of you. Your pursed scarlet lips cascaded down his shaft as your hand wrapped around the part that wouldn’t fit down your throat. Small whimpers were heard from the boy with glasses everytime you lifted your head upwards, swirling your tongue around his leaking tip before plunging down again, all whilst your hand jerked off his girthy base. It didn’t take long before the poor boy was unable to controll the lewd noises that pierced your ear like the sound of music. For his every moan you got wetter, those pathetic whines of his causing you to dig your nails into his thighs, holding back from marking him up with hickies and showing him that he’s your new playtoy.
The high-pitched moans mixed with the subtle murmuring of the radio still going in the background, the sloppy sound of your spit as you bobbed your head intensely driving Jeongin closer to his release. Just as he felt him twitch between your cheeks you pulled off, kissing his tip before looking up at him with doe eyes. The expression that haunted his face was priceless. You smiled at his bedraggled state, his twinkling eyes and heaving breath signaling that he was lost in pleasure moments ago.
“Liked it, babyboy?”
He nodded in agreement before grabbing your narrow wrist and standing you up, pushing you against a bookcase causing a couple of lightweight books to fall on either side of you. His mouth was dangerously close to your ear, his body close enough to radiate heat.
“But don’t call me that”. Jeongin’s voice changed, now more raspy.
“Aw, does babyboy get shy when I call him that?” you ridiculed him but soon regretted it when he raised your eyebrow at you before turning you around and bending you down, you hands grabbing onto the shelf.
“Hey! You can’t ju-”
Your moan cut you off as the tip of his cock entered you with ease, your juices almost dripping down your leg from the arousal as he pushed your panties to the side. Jeongin hissed as his member advanced into your throbbing pussy, desperate to feel you around his sensitive shaft. Small whimpers spilled out your mouth as he felt much bigger than he seemed, moving at a slow pace yet still hitting your g-spot with every thrust. His cold laugh sent shivers down your back where Jeongin’s hand was stragically placed in order to keep you bent down, the other hand wrapped around your hip.
“You’ve been fantisasing about this, haven’t you?” he groaned to which you tsked.
“I think you’re talking about yourself, babyboy. With your nose in those books all day you surely must have read heaps of erotica.”
He slammed his hips against yours making you mewl out in pleasure, trying to hold onto the shelf but only knocking down more books.
“Don’t c-call me that!” he defended himself from the shameful nickname you had given him but you couldn’t help but to laugh.
“You’re adorable, you know that babyboy?”. Your gibbling laughter annoyed Jeongin causing him to push you back, his big hands wrapping gently around your neck and choking you slightly making your high-pitched whimpers more frequent. His pace quickened as he was nearing his orgasm and you could once again feel him twitching, only this time he was twitching inside your sopping cunt which further caused the knot in your stomach to tighten.
“J-jeongin,,,f-fuck”. Shutting your eyes you saw a spectrum of colors fly by as your head spinned from the impending orgasm. The dark haired boy smirked, his eyebrows furrowed as he thrusted into your squelching cunt, the filthy noise completely muffling out the babble of the radio. Being his first time he was annoyingly good, pleasuring you in the ways you were longing for.
A broken moan erupted as the hand around your neck descended down, stopping for a moment to give your nipples a twist before settling at your swollen clit. The fast circling movement of his long fingers paired with his relentless thrusting made you see stars behind your stinging eyes. You were unraveling at the seams in his touch but so did Jeongin, his final thrusts sloppy as a string of whines left his soft lips.
Your legs gave up on you when you finally released, the knot in your core melting away as your juices coated Jeongin’s aroused dick. Jeongin crashed his hips against you one last time, the impact causing your butt to bounce against him. He pulled out quickly, dick twitching in his hand before his hot semen ran down your buttcheek as you were panting, holding onto anything on the dusty and creaky wooden shelf.
Jeongin last cries echoed in your ears as he milked his dick out of every cumdrop, his glasses slipping off the tip of his nose. The hot substance quickly cooling off while trickling down as you tried to stand up, putting a hand onto Jeongin’s shoulder.
“Y-you good?” he stuttered, scared that he’d hurt you.
“Yeah... think so” was what you managed to say before falling into Jeongin’s sturdy embrace. He let out a surprised squeal as he caught you, snickering quietly at your struggle to hold yourself up.
“I guess I’m your first friend in town now” he smiled shyly as you looked at him naively. Blushing profusely, you looked deep into his dangerously sweet eyes that were rimmed by his thin wire glasses.
“I guess you are”.

Tumblr media
Master Chief has (none too surprisingly, if you’ve noticed all of my sudden Halo postings 😉) joined my gang! I set him free from his cardboard and plastic prison and put him onto my Official Deboxing Table of Deboxing™ 😉to wait for the rest of his team (he’s from one of the 4 packs - watch for damaged box deals and you can get them for an awesome price! - so I’m soon going to have an awesome team of Spartans protecting my collection!🤩).
Tumblr media
As it turned out, in that same mail call haul, 😉 I also got Pammy, the Barbie Cutie Reveal panda!
Tumblr media
I freed her from her cardboard tube and took her cute little plushie mask off (which is why she has Fresh From Being In The Mask hair but I kinda like this swirly ponytail thing she has going on 😎) and stood her next to Chief while I was opening her accessories and then I noticed...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s holding her little panda paw hand, d’aww! So, you’ve heard it here first: Master Chief/Pammy is THE hot new OTP! 😍🔥💖😉

Super 5 headcanons part 5
Part 1    Part 2     Part 3    Part 4
So...it’s been a long time right? HAHAHA
Minegishi sighed.
“For the last time I won’t help you sell Shimazaki on ebay” Minegishi stopped dicing the vegetables and turned to look at him with what in any other person would have been a raised eyebrow “I don’t even think it’s possible”
“Who would even buy him?” Shibata helpfully added from his spot at the sink where he was washing the dishes “Besides world domination our friend isn’t that useful for anything else”
Hatori stared when Minegishi just silently nodded
“I don’t know! But thats not the point!” Hatori grunted while shaking his head “It’s time for some retaliation-”
“So your idea for retaliation…” Minegishi deadpanned “is to sell him on ebay?”
Hatori wasn’t dumb, he could hear the snicker behind his flat expression.
“Laugh all you want!” Hatori said pointing an acussatory finger to Minegishi “But I am tired of letting Shimazaki do whatever he wants with is without facing any consequence!”
“Are you still mad about the raccoon thing?” Shibata laughed drying his hands with a washcloth to pat Hatori on the back “C'mon! It was just one rabies shot! And the doctor said it was just cautionary”
Hatori flustered when this time Minegishi openly snickered “You got rabies shots? Aren’t you supposed to get those as a kid?”
“Why would I know? Do you even have yours?” Hatori retorted bittely not expecting Minegishi to actually stop laughing.
“I don’t know…?”
“Aha!” Hatori exclaimed not wasting the opportunity to latch onto this “What if that bastard brings ANOTHER racoon?!”
“He wouldn’t-”
“Are you sure? Absolutely sure?”
At Minegishi’s lack of response Hatori screamed victoriously “See? This is why you have to support me with my plan!”
“Sell him on ebay you say…” Minegishi muttered while tapping the kitchen counter with his finges.
“You can’t be seriously considering this!” Shibata exclaimed outraged “Ha ve you lost your minds? We aren’t selling our friend on internet”
“He’s not my friend” Hatori quickly complained.
“And I never said I agreed on selling him on ebay” Minegishi continued “But Hatori’s right and it’s time we put some limits to him”
“YES”
“And that’s why we should talk with him instead”
“SHIBATA NOOOO”
“Shibata’s right”
“NOOOOOOOO” Hatori cried miserably, victory had been so close “whyyyy?”
“Im sorry buddy but that’s the right and mature thing to do” Shibata said not sounding sorry at all
“Hatori stop whinning and finish setting the table so we can finally eat”
Minegishi rolled his eyes at Hatori’s sulking form and finished cooking with Shibatas help.
Once they entered the living room with the finished food Minegishi noticed Hatorics hesitance
“Is something wrong?”
“I was just wondering if i should put another plate. Is the bastard going to eat with us?”
“Speaking of which” said Shibata carrying the last of their homemade food “Where is he?”
“I don’t know” shrugged Minegishi “He was annoying me because he was bored and you were late so I told him to go and find something else to do before I choked him”
“And he did it just like that?” Shibata asked surprised.
“I had to threaten him starvation and not buying his cereal forst but it worked”
Shibata hummed “He probably went dog sighting”
“Probably”
“How long ago was that”
“Like 5 minutes before you arrived”
“Then it will be a while before he returns”
Minegishi shrugged again “I wouldn’t worry about him”
They were halfway through their food when Hatorics eyes catch sight of something in Shimazakis makeshift cabinet.
“Are those his glasses?”
Minegishi turned to where Hatori was pointing “Yes”
“I thought he didn’t take them off ever”
“I guess he listened when I complained about dogs saliva on them” Minegishi said “If he is indeed dog sighting”
“I’m pretty sure he is” Shibata said comfidently “Dog saliva? Really?”
“Yeah, between that and the paw shaped stains on his clothes…he was driving me crazy”
“Oh I know! The first time it was really hard to get rid of the stench of trash but I found in internet a helpful mix of…” Shibata’s words died in his mouth when he saw Hatori stand up and pick the glasses.
Minegishi stared confused “What are you doing?”
Hatori didn’t respond and when he made his way to his forgotten backpack Shibata facepalmed.
“Buddy, no. Did you seriously bought those?”
Hatori turned around with a devilish smile om his face while clearly hiding something behind his back. “Well i never thought you would actually help me with the ebay plan”
Minegishi turned to look at Shibata expecting some kimd of clarification.
“We passed a toy store on our way here and Hatori saw…something.” Shibata said in a tired tone shaking his head clearly dissppointed “I can’t explain it…Just show him already”
Hatori proudly revealed what he was hiding. Besides Shimazaki’s glasses there was another pair.
The other pair were one of those funny looking glasses you used for disguisses or parties with crazy colourful swirly cartoon eyes that seemed to wink when you move them and stupid antennaes that ended in a pink cotton ball hanging from the sides.
It was the stupidest thing Minegishi had ever seen.
“You do realize he wont ever fall for this right?” Minegishi deadpanned once again “He will immediately feel those antennaes movement”
“Have more faith in me” Hatori huffed taking off the apparently removable antennaes thus making the glasses look a little less stupider but stupid nonetheless.
Minegishi picked both glassesand turned them around inspecting them. He had to give Hatori some credit. he had managed to find a pair with the exact same shape as Shimazakis and made of the same cheap plastic.
They were perfect…except for one thing.
“They don’t weight the same” Minegishi stated raising the toy glasses. to be honest he wasn’t sure but it was an educated guess.
“You gotta be kidding me right?” Hatori exclaimed “Who cares? He won’t even notice that!”
“He will” Minegishi seriously said before standing up and walking away still holding both pair of glasses.
“Hey! Where are you going?” Hatori screamed following Minegishi back in the kitchenb Shibata just behind him.
When they got there they found Minegishi already kneeling rummaging one of his low cabinets.
Hatori turned to look at Shibata but the big man just shrugged in return as lost as him.
“Aja!” Minegishi suddenly exclaimed standing up holding his white digital scale. He then weighted both pair of glasses.
The toy glasses weighted 10 grams less.
“Told you” Minegishi triumphantly exclaimed.
“So?” Hatori spluttered “Yeah, fine! They don’t weight the same. It’s just 10 grams! He won’t-”
“He will”
“Again I repeat myself” Hatori said losing his patience “YOU GOTTA BE FUCKINH KIDDING-”
He couldn’t finish his sentence because Shibata decided in that moment to place one of his heavy hands on Hatori’s shoulder “Minegishi…Hatori is right. Don’t you think you are being a little… paranoic?”
“No” Minegishi firmly stated shaking his head “Why do you think I take him shopping?”
“Because you were trying to teach him how to be a good person…?” Shibata tried only for Minegishi to glare at him. They already knew how much of a failure that had been.
Hatori shrugged, now it was his turn to try. “Dunno man. I don’t even know why you even let him sleep here”
At the others failed attempts Minegishi continued “I don’t know how or what he does but he somehow can weight stuff with great precision”
“What” “What”
“I suspect it has something to do with Mental eye” Minegishi kept muttering unaware of the others awed expression.
“That’s…unexpected” “That’s fucked up”
“It helps me to make sure Im being sold what I payed for” Minegishi shrugged “ANYWAY my point is if I noticed it he will certainly do it too. If we are doing this we have to do it right”
The phrasing didn’t escape Hatori. “We…?” he asked in disbeliefb excitement barely concealed in his tone.
When Minegishi smirked Hatori couldn’t help but give a devilish smirk of his own. in unison they both turned to Shibata who just groaned.
“Fine. I’m in”
Both Minegishi and Hatori raised a fist in triumph. Shibata hesitantly joining them.
“But what are we doing then?” Shibata asked “The glasses don’t weight the same and Shimazaki is gonna arruve any moment now”
“Shit that’s true”
“I have an idea” Minegishi said calling upon the power welling inside him. Soon a sticky looking vine made its way to where the group was reunited. Minegishi inspected it and after some careful consideration he picked two small leaves growing from it and stuck them to the upper side of the toy glasses simulatin angry frowing eyebrows.
He then placed the toy glasses om the scale and with bathed breath they waited for the led screen to settle on a number.
They differed by less than a gram now.
“That’s enough…right?” Hatori quietly asked.
“It has to be…” Shibata added before turning to look at Minegishi. He was the judge, had the last work.
“I don’t know.” Minegishi confessed “But this will have to do. Quick Hatori. Shibata. Set everything we will need in place. We only have one chance amd we can’t afford to waste it.”
They barely had time to finish their already cold food and prepare everything when Shimazaku suddenly appeared in the middle of the room.
They did their best to act naturally hoping the blind man didn’t notice anything.
The moment Shimazaki popped in Minegishi’s living room he knew something was off.
He could feel the remnants of Hatori’s aura telling him he had been building artifacts but wherever they were they were deactivated because he couldn’t sense them. They were probably diacarded om the floor. It wasn’t the first time he did that.
He could feel Shibata tensing his muscles too but it wasn’t like Shimazaki cared. He was hungry and he could smell food so he made his way to his cabinet to fetch his things.
He grabbed his glasses and put them on while he turned about to ask what they had for dinner but before he could do that the whole room erupted in chaos.
“GO GO NOW” Hatori screamed barely restraining his laughter while his artifacts suddenly tuner to life.
Shimazaki could feel them flying, closely circling him but besides that he could hear them. His expartners laughing. Laughing so much they were almost wheezing
“Oh my god” exclaimed Shibata trying to stiffle his laugh with his free hand. The other was busy holding something that made a clicking noise.
“THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN I THOUGHT” Hatori cackled pointing at him.
Even Minegishi had bursted laughing!
Shimazaki didn’t know what was happening but he knew something was happening and he didn’t like it.
With a swift movement he took down all of Hatori’s devices, one after another.
“NOOOOO” Hatori screamed “MY BABIES”
Once the artifacts were destroyed Shimazaki turned and launched himself at their vey own creator.
Hatori yelped traying to scurry away from him but Shimazaki was too fast.
Or he would have been if it werenct for the fact Shibata tacklee him before he could reach the little pest.
“Don’t even think that” the big man growled as if that was enough to stop him.
Without wasting another second Shimazaki teletransported behind Hatori and with a strong kick slammed him against Shibata sending them both flyin to the nearest wall.
He was about to punch a hole in them when a sturdy vine wrapped around hos arm stopping him.
“Shimazaki stop” Minegishi exclaimed in a low menacing voice. His hand raised ij prepartion glowing with his aura.
Shimazaki teletransported all around the room avoinding the quick vines Minegishi sent after him trying to bound him.
Soon he made his way towards the plant user and when he was in close range he raise his legt ready to plan another kick in the mans chest but hr had to teletransport before he could do it because somethin was flyin comind directly for his head. Whatever it was it sounded metallic when it crashed om the wall instead.
“You psycho! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?” Hatori, now surrounded by a bunch of floating stuff ready to be thrown screamed.
Provoked, Shimazaki threw himself once again agains the smaller esper “You were laughing!”
“IT WAS A PRANK JACKASS” Hatori yelled reflexively raising his arms forming a protective barrier.
But it wasn’t needed because that actually made Shimazaki stop.
“A prank?” was all he was able to say before a wave of vines encircled him and threw him to the floor.
“Yes idiot. A prank.” Minegishi walking to where they were and looking down at him “If you had calmed down we could have explain it to you”
Minegishi glared at the bounded man below him. He knew Shimazaki could free himself in any moment. Shimazaki knew it too, afterall he wasn’t squirming instead he stayed put glaring at Minegishi waiting for an explanation.
Or at least he tried. He was stilk wearing the toy glasses and if it wasn'tfor the sight of his destroyed apartment Minegishi would have laughed again.
The final tally after everything was cleaned and accounted for included Hatori’s phone, Minegishi’s toaster and coffe maker (which Hatori had used to build the flying wifi connected cameras and then Shimazaki utterly destroyed) a broken lip from Hatori (though he alleged he had a broken rib too), an unconcious Shibata (who took all the brunt of hitting the wall and that Minegishi had to use his vines to drag and lay to rest on the sofa) and a huge whole on the wall where Shibata had landed, completely fracturing it (Minegishi could consider himself lucky that it hadn’t been one of the buildings support walls).
And an annoyed Shimazaki who was too impatient to wait for them to pick up the place.
“Toy glasses…?” Shimazaki dubiously said when they finally explained what all that had been about. He had taken them off and now was moving his hands along feeling them.
“Yes. They are dumb, they are stupid. You didn’t have to punch our guts but who cares? You are welcome” Hatori said curtly. He was pissed seated on the sofa at the end of Shibata’s feet trying to fix his phone to not succes which only pissed him more.
Minegishi sighed tiredlyb it was too late for this. “We just want to take some photos of you wearing them. We thought it would be fun-”
“How are they?” Shimazaki interrumpted
“What?”
“How do they look?” Shimazaki suddenly asked seriously. He had stopped touching the glasses and was now frowning at them.
“Uhhh…They are pink?”
“Pink?”
“Yeah! pink you dumbfu-” Hatori snapped but stopped himself when he saw the confused look Shimazaki was throwing at him “Of course you don’t know what pink is.. ”
He groaned and turned to look at Shibata for help but the man was still passed out.
“Pink…is this color…like red and white?”
“…”
“It’s for girls!” hatori said throwing up his hands in surrender “Minegishi can you help me out”
“They are pink” Minegishi continued shaking his head “ Amd they have this swirly cartoon eyes that wink when you move them-”
“Wink?” Shimazaki asked again looking more confused.
“Yes, they wink. It’s an effect. Don’t think too hard about it-”
“What is this?” Shimazaki said picking apart one of the leaves. “Is it a plant?”
“Yep. Minegishi put them so they weighted the same as your glasses. It worked!” Hatori said in a better mood. As if the fact they managed to trick Shimazaki made him happier “They looked like angry eyebrows. Frowning eyebrows”
“Frowning?”
“Yes. like you are doing at this very moment” Minegishi said casually pointing at Shimazakis face.
Shimazaki brought a hand to his forehead and lightly patted his eyebrows.
Minegishi ws about to keep talking describing the stupid glasses when the unthinkable happened.
One…two…three…snickers escaped Shimazaki’s mouth and before he or Hatori could understand what was happening he was chuckling.
“OH MY GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING? IS HE HAVING AN ATTACK?” Hatori asked panicked and Minegishi couldn’t blame him for that.
It’s not that they had never heard Shimazaki laugh. It was that this was completely different from the mocking laugh they were accustomed.
This was a pure unadultered laugh and Minegishi and Hatori could only stare at the way Shimazaki was bending over while fits of laughter took him over not knowing how to act.
It didnt take much (even though it felt like it did) for Shimazaki to raise with a tiny genuine smile showing on his face while he recovered his breath like they had never seen before.
Afterall maybe a destroyed apartment and an unconcious friend had been worth it.
Because they had to wait for Shibata to regain conciousness and make sure he was okay they ended up going to sleep really late.
Which meant Shimazaki was going to kill the man at the door who woke him with his incesant knocking and shouting.
“MINEGISHI” Shimazaki loudly groaned rolling on his back on the couch and covering his eyes witth his arm wishing that was enough to keep his mental eye from seeing “IM GOING TO KILL HIM IF HE DOESNT STOP”
“I already heard!” Minegishi answered entering in the living room dragging his feet
“IM COMING” he said before mumbling under his breat “Who could even be this early?”
Shimazaki didnt care and he was already readying himself to go back to sleep when Minegishi opened the door.
It was going to be possible. The man seemed to have a death wish.
The shouting not only returned but it increased in volume.
“MINEGISHI SAN” the mans voice boomed in minegishis tiny apartment and to shimazakis surprise Minegishi actually flinched
“Y-Yamada san what are-”
“CARE TO EXPLAIN ME WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE?” the man screamed somehow louder “I WOKE UP TO DOZENS OF TEXT MESSAGES AND CALL AFTER CALL FROM THE NEIGHBOURS COMPLAINING ABOUT SOME SORT OF CONMOTION GOING IN MY BUILDING”
“I-”
“AND WHAT DO I FIND WHEN I FINALLY COME HERE? TENNANTS APPROACHING ME WITH WILD STORIES ABOUT THE BUILDING TREMBLING AND CONCERNS ABOUT THEIR SAFETY”
So far Shimazaki had been trying to tune the mans screaming but the more the man continued the harder minegishis grip on the doorframe got drawing Shimazakis attention. It was rare to see him nervous.
“I OF COURSE TRIED TO CALM THEM DOWN. TELLING ME THERE WAS NOTHING TO FEAR. MY BUILDING IS SAFE…”
“BUT THEN SHIMURA SAN FROM #213 COMES AND TELLS ME ABOUT A DENT APPEARING ON HER WALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT”
“…”
“Minegishi san…would you be so kind to explain me why A HUGE FUCKING DENT SUDDENLY APPEARED IN THE WALL SEPARATING YOU APARTMENTS?” the man finally screamed out of breath
“Ill pay for the damage” was everything Minegishi said
“OH IM MAKING SURE YOU DO THAT” the man raged on taking a step forward and jabbing a finger in Minegishis chest.
“I know your story Minegishi san.I know what you used to do and let you come here despite my best judgement” the man hissed with his finger still deeply buried in Minegishis chest. Shimazaki couldnt understand why Minegishi kept listening. “I should just evict you. But I am a generous man and I know you wont be accepted anywhere else so… ill let you stay, given you pay for all of the repairs…who knows how deep your little stunt damaged my building”
“A-all of the repairs?!” Minegishi exclaimed
“And any demand issued againys my persona for this incident”
“Wh-But Yamada-san! I don’t have the momey to pay for all that”
“You seriously expect me to believe that? You should have thought that! And if you refuse to pay I will call the police-”
That’s it.
“You arent calling anybody funny man.” Shimazaki said with a smile telatransporting just behind Minegishi immeditely getting the desired effect.
“W-WHO IS THIS?” the man screamed jumping backwards
“Yamada san this is Shimazaki” Minegishi sighed “He is … a friend of mine-”
“IS THIS ANOTHER ONE OF YOU LUNATICS?” the man pointed a trembling finger in Shimazakis direction
“Who I am doesnt matter.” Shimazaki started but was interrupted by Minegishis hissing
“Shimazaki”
Shimazaki ignored him teletransporting to the space previosly occupied by the man earning another scream from him.
“What matters to me is…” shimazaki said leaning forward dropping his smile “who the fuck are you?”
“W-Who am I?!”
“Yes, you. Idiot.” Shimazaki sighed. The funny man wasnt as funny as he was brainless.
“EXCUSE ME? I’m the-”
“I dont care” Shimazaki quickly cut in “You are but an insignificant piece of shit who should have thought better before coming here and waking me up with all you babbling”
“Babbling? Waking you…up?” the idiot kept repeating everything Shimazaki just said “You sleep here?”
“Duh” shimazaki simply said because it was obvious but something happened because the moment he said that Minegishi groaned and the man who had been previously trembling suddenly stilled and was now looking over shimazakis shoulder at Minegishi
“Minegishi-san what is this?!”
“Uh…m”
“WHEN YOU RENTED THIS PLACE WE ACCORDED IT WAS JUST FOR ONE PERSON. I WONT HAVE FREELOADERS LIVING IN MY BUILDING. ”
“He was just over-”
“I DONT CARE. YOU KNOW THE RULES. THE RENT GOES UP 10000 YEN TO PAY FOR THE LINVING EXPENSES OF ANY EXTRA PERSON AND YOU WILL PAY THEM OR ELSE-”
“Or else what?” Shimazaki snarled grabbing the not so funny man by the collar of his shirt and raising him “You know? I am getting really tired of you.”
“LET ME GO YOU LUNATIC” the man uselessly kicked in the air
“SHIMAZAKI NO” Minegishis hand shot up effectively grabbing Shimazakis shoulder and stopping him from teletransporting to the bottom of the sea like he had been planning to. “Let him go”
Shimazaki unceremoniously dropped the man and he didnt waste a single second before fleeing down the hall almost tripping with his own feet.
Shimazaki laughed, closed the door and turned around ready to joke with Minegishi like they did everytime they decimated an opposing force.
Except Minegishi currently was sitting in the floor burying his face in his hands.
“Minegishi?” Shimazaki tentatively called
“If he calls the police then Im done for good” Minegishi quietly mumbled
“What? why?” Shimazaki exclaimed  “He was the one who came screaming and woke us up! He was screaming at you!”
“Dont you understand?” Minegishi straightened turning to look at Shimazaki “That was my landlord. I cant go around threatening my landlord!”
“Your what?”
“YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT A-” Minegishi started but stopped to take a deep breath
“He owns this place” Minegishi finally saaid gesturing around
“What? I thought this place was yours”
“No  I don’t.” Minegishi grumbled “I don’t have that amount of money...I actually don’t even have enought to pay all of Yamada sans demands”
“What? Arent you super rich or something?”
“Waht makes you think that?”
“Well...with all the stuff you buy me...and how you are always working...”
“You though that I...?” Minegishi said in disbelief  before quietly chuckling “How much do you think Im paid?”
Shimazaki shrugs
“You do realize you are a lost cause, right?”
“HEY”
Minegishi stood up dusting his pants “Here c’mon” he then walked towards the doors “Let’s go”
“Where?” Shimazaki whined “Im hungry”
“I have to go now and somehow covince everybody to not sue me or Yamada-san...I would preferred to change first but we have to do this as soon as possible if i dont want to pay even more money.”
“And why do i have to go? ”
“For starters because this is your fault.” Minegishi deadpanned “And besides I dont trust you enough to leave you alone in my kitchen”
Shimazaki couldnt argue back so he crossed his arms and followed Minegishi out
I know, I know its been more than a year since I last updated this but *gestures vaguely* life.last year of college.new fandoms. global crisis...
And more importantly... tumblr deleting all my drafts
Seriously I had like a good chunk of the prank scene written since last years august but Tumblr kept deleting my drafts and i had to rewrite all of that like 5 times which was pretty descourangingly (that and the lack of response )
It’s a shame considering the whole scene of the prank was the main reason for me to write this. I was very excited to write it.
I hope it lived to your expectations because i know I kept talking about this
Anyway I wish i could tell you when the next part is coming, because theres still more (this thing just grows and grows out of control) but yeah *gestures vaguely at everything going around*
What I know is that I want to write this before i forget how key scenes go (part of the discouragement was that i forgot some cool witty dialogue i had for the prank and I was so mad at mysellf for not remebering) so lets see how this goes.
I missed these dorks.
Anyway any feedback is greatly appreciated (reblogs>likes).
You can find me  in ao3 ( Im posting these headcanons and other fics there)

Wed, 14, 4.57PM.
Hey chuck!!! How r u? Wanna meet up tomorrow? let me know if you're free! there's someone I want you to meet :)]
You’re slowly getting the hang of waking up in the morning and Jace has asked you to meet him today but prior to that, you have a window of opportunity to visit your mentor for a good hour or so.
The Corviknight taxi deposits you at the gates of Greyon's Cemetery; it is far more comforting to the eyes during the day, with the lack of ghost pokemon lurking within and the steely, heavy mist that swamps the entire the vicinity during late night hours.
Without further ado, you push the gates open and stroll inside, leisurely venturing down the twisted, stony path that leads to the mausoleum, glancing at the faded gravestones sticking out of the cold ground and the decorative sculptures with the overgrown moss and faded writing until you spot your mentor sleeping on the steps, clutching an empty can of beer to his chest whilst Absol curls up by his feet.
“Ezra?” you say aloud, and the old man responds with a snort and rubs at his nose briefly with his fingerless gloves before he sluggishly opens his eyes.
His gaze does not concentrate on anything in particular, even when you hop over and seat yourself on the stone steps by his side.
Emitting a low groan, Ezra sits up, cracks a few bones in his neck and shoulders at the same time and yawns loudly.
“Hnrgh…you’re here,” he grumbles raspily under his breath as he tosses the beer can away.
“Yeah," you reply, and Absol wakes up too, stretching on her front paws. She joins her master to sit upright on the steps and licks at her paw.
“What’re you doing here so early? It’s morning.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“Hn. Trying to integrate back into society, are you?”
“I guess… actually, I’m not gonna work on any cases for the time being so there’s no need for me to keep going out at night. And I’m meeting Jace later.”
“I see. Good for you, kid.”
“Have you been eating well?”
Ezra gestures to his pile of booze that has been messily laid in front of a gravestone near the fountain and nods. Flicking his empty gaze to you, he assesses you quietly, rubbing his chin with one hand.
“Somethin’ about you seems different,” he says with a grunt, his white eyes sweeping over your form.
“What is it??”
He narrows his eyes and Ezra breezily pinpoints the shimmering bright light that surrounds your silhouette, convulsing and coiling and emitting from your very core. You’ve always had it but it seems stronger.
“It’s so bright. I’ve never seen anything like it before. What happened to you when you were at Rose’s art gallery?”
You’ve informed him previously that you were taking Rose’s case and so you tell him everything and gesture to your bandaged arm and he listens, occasionally nodding and taking swigs of a new can of beer and harrumphing at random times until you finish.
And when he hears that you expelled an evil spirit out of your body, he nods to himself. “Well done."
“Thank Ezra, but Leon helped me. If it wasn’t for him, I probably wouldn’t have been able to do it.”
“But you did, and that’s very impressive. I don’t think I’ve ever known anyone who has the ability to do that.”
You look at him in confusion, tilting your head to the side and he chuckles.
“You know what I’m talking about. Hell, maybe you’ll start seeing them in broad daylight like I do. From now on, be on your guard at all times. You need to proceed with caution; you might be able to see an’ hear more of ‘em often than you want.”
“...Is this what Rosie had too?”
He nods.
“And that’s why spirits were always attracted to her, why she was so vulnerable?”
A brief nod is your answer.
If only you had met Ezra earlier. He’s the only one who truly understands you and the pain and agony you’ve suffered. And if you had met him earlier, you could’ve brought Rosie to see him, he would’ve known what to do. He could’ve saved her.
He could’ve saved them all and-
Ezra slides a gnarled hand into the holey pockets of his duster and pulls out a folded talisman, nudging it to you. “Keep this on you at all times. It will protect you.”
“Thanks,” you utter as you pocket the talisman safely into your bag, “Ezra, do you think I should start looking for Dusknoir now?”
“Heh. You don’t need to ask me. You know what to do, and you know it’s nothing to do with the pokemon,” he says, before he fumbles his pockets for a cigarette and lights it up. Sucking a deep drag, he exhales with a heavy sigh, filling the atmosphere with a crisp and acrid stench, “I won’t sugarcoat it for you… It’ll come for you one day but when that day comes, I know you’ll be ready.”
You say quietly, “Hey...Ezra?”
“Yeah?”
“Thanks.”
He emits a soft hum under his breath. “…’welcome.”
“And uh, Spiritomb escaped too.”
He doesn’t appear surprised and waves his hand dismissively. “Yeah, I know. It’s fine, leave ‘im to me. I’ll take care of the bloody swirly bastard.”
As you nod, Ezra inhales another deep drag briefly before he splutters, hacking and heaving violently before a thin stream of red pools out from the corner of his cracked lips.
“Ah, fuck.”
Turning to the side, he spits some of the gunk out and wipes his chin whilst Absol begins purring loudly with concern.
“I’m fine,” he croaks out, coughing.
“No, you’re not. You need to go to hospital.”
When he’s finished coughing, he soaks up the rest of the cigarette and utters, “I’m going soon. Take a look at this.”
You are presented with a folded letter, you unfurl the paper to reveal an insignia of a hospital stamped at the top; you scan the remainder of the letter where there are several prevalent words along with some Braille.
“Lung carcinoma??” you exclaim, eyes wide. "Cancer...?"
"Yeah."
Shaking your head in disbelief, you grow limp in your seat as you clutch the letter meekly in hands. It’s taunting you.
Everything is.
Ezra is dying.
He’s old and he’s aware he smokes and drinks like a degenerate.
It’s inevitable.
Laden with heavy thoughts, you arrive at Jace’s apartment in a dour mood; everything seems so insignificant as of now. Life is too short after all. You want to spend some more time with your mentor but he encouraged you to go and see your friend. So here you are.
And you certainly don’t reciprocate Jace’s huge grin when he opens the door after you’ve rung the doorbell.
“Chuck, you’re here!” he exclaims before he ushers you in.
He’s wearing his Ball Guy uniform, missing his mascot mask. The more you look at it, the more you just cannot get used to that red polo and shorts combo which is apparently an abomination to fashionistas.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, when he sees your darkened expression.
“N-nothing,” you say, forcing a smile.
He purses his lips but remains quiet when you reassure him once more that you’re fine. He’s not alone. There are two suitcases standing by his shoe rack and a huge Luxray snoozing on the couch. You recall he has a visitor from Sinnoh and he wants you to meet someone and so you spot this friend standing in the kitchen with his back to you and when he turns round, a pair of cerulean eyes meets yours and you grow still on the spot.
Jace is quick to get you back on the move, steering you towards his direction with hands planted on your shoulders.
“Yo Volkner, I want you to meet my friend!!!!”
When you’re finally in front of the young man, your gazes meet for a second time. The young man has blonde hair fashioned in a spiked style and you’re quite certain you have seen him before perhaps from a magazine or a website. He’s dressed in a black v-neck shirt and dark blue denims, with a light blue coat slung over one shoulder.
“Chuck, right?” he says. He has a smooth voice, deeper than Jace's. More mature.
“Noooo, that’s just my nickname for her. Her name is-”
As Jace speaks, he is drowned by the sounds of a horn blaring noisily from a truck that passes the flat.
Regardless, Volkner nods.
You look at Jace questioningly who merely grins at you and winks. For you to hear, he says, “Volkner can be a little aloof but he’s a great guy.”
Then he pats you on the shoulder and beams widely at the two of you.
“Let me fill you in. Chuck, I’m really sorry, but I need a favour from you. I asked if you were free today because my good buddy Volkner needs a grand tour of Wyndon and of course I was supposed to do it and it would've been nice if we all went together but my stupid boss just called me and demanded me to go to work right now.”
You blink sluggishly. “Oh…I’m so sorry, Jace.”
“It’s alright; Volkner understands and doesn’t mind; it would be great if you could show him around for the time being. He was the guest judge for the Beauty Pageant but he got this fancy ride to the stadium and back so he doesn't remember how to get there; you could quickly show him Wyndon Stadium, and he’s got a meeting at the Rose of the Rondelands too so if you could show him that and also the-“
“Jace,” Volkners says.
“Yeah?”
“….I can take it from here.”
“Okay, okay,” Jace nods and grabs his Ball Guy mask that was sitting on the floor, along with his bag, “Sorry chuck.”
“It’s okay, Jace. I don’t mind showing Volkner around.”
“Thanks chuck! Thank you so much!”
Flicking a quick glimpse to Volkner, you gulp inwardly when your heart appears to quicken as he levels your gaze once more.
Volkner is good-looking. Tall, blonde, handsome and lean, you cannot help but stare as he sets his mug down on the counter and offers you his hand. You slide your hand into his and as he shakes your hand, he says, “I’m Volkner. I’m the gym leader of Sunyshore City. Do you like electric type pokemon?”
Jace groans incoherently and Volkner throws him a sideways glance.
“What?” asks the gym leader.
Exasperated by his actions somehow, Jace can only shrug and shake his head whilst you reply, “I heard you constructed your gym puzzle out of sheer boredom. Is that true?”
“Yes, that's correct.”
“Oh, okay. That’s cool. I’m a ghost-type researcher. Here’s my card,” you delve into your bag and procure a nice and shiny card for him to take.
“Ghost-types, huh?” he murmurs as he twirls your business card front and back with his long fingers.
“Yeah.”
“What pokemon do you have?”
“I have a Gengar, Mimikyu and a Runerigus at hand right now.”
“Your Gengar,” Volkner says, “What moves does he know?”
“Shadow Ball, Confuse Ray….Dark Pulse…and he also knows this psychic move but I actually don’t know what it is. He used it when we were in this cave and we were getting attacked by snow but somehow he stopped all the snow particles in mid-air and reversed it.”
“It was probably ‘Psychic’.”
“Yeah, it probably was.”
“Did you know Gengar can learn Thunder Punch, Thunderbolt and Thunder via TM?”
“No, I did not.”
“Do you want him to learn? It could help vary his techniques so he can face off against various opponents.”
“That’s a good point but I don’t know, I’ll have to ask him.”
“Sure, let me know. I have some spares which I can share with you.”
“That would be very nice.”
“They’re powerful moves. One can say they’re shocking.”
Despite delivering that line with a straight face, Jace, who has been listening to your conversation silently, cannot help but grimace and tiredly rolls his eyes whilst you blink for a brief moment or so before you chuckle and Volkner cracks a smile at your response.
Jace ceases his wincing and gapes at you two in bewilderment, having witnessed your entire interaction.
“Oh.... my….Arceus,” he breathes, swapping alarmed glances between you and Volkner, “I was right. Holy Mudkip! Well, you two seem to get along great! I-I need to go to work right now!”
“Okay,” you reply, “Leave Volkner with me. He’ll be in good hands.”
“Thanks, chuck! See you around!”
“Bye Jace,” you and Volkner bid your friend farewell and Jace rushes out of his apartment with his Ball Guy mask and bag under one arm, whooping loudly.
“I wonder what that was all about,” you reply, before you glance up at the blonde and he throws his glimpse to you, “Is he okay?”
“He’s fine,” Volkner replies, gently sliding his hands into his pockets, “So Miss Tour Guide, where shall we head to first?”
Volkner’s a pretty busy guy, you recall. He has a lot to do during his time here.
“I’ll take you to Wyndon Stadium first, we’ll walk along the promenade where you can see the river and the ferris wheel. We can visit Rose Tower if you’re interested, then we'll pop by Rose of the Rondelands and we can also grab a bite to eat if you get hungry. I know a good place.”
“Lead the way,” he replies, and he recalls Luxray after a brief introduction to the gleaming eyes pokemon, then lets you leave the apartment first. You both exit Jace’s apartment and onto the main street.
With Volkner lingering by your side, you make your way to the promenade, showing him the street signs should he ever find himself in Wyndon on his lonesome.
“It’s easy to get lost here,” you say, and Leon briefly pops up in your mind.
Ah, Leon.
You hadn’t heard from him since this morning.
You wonder how he’s doing.
You want to see him.
“It’s this way, right?” Volkner says, bringing you out of your thoughts.
“Ah, yes, that’s correct.”
The streets are heavily populated today and many people stare as you stroll along. They can tell he’s not from Galar, possibly due to his hairstyle and fashion. However, he doesn’t respond to their staring and pads along you with his hands in his pockets, drinking in the scenery and the architecture.
“How did you become a ghost-type researcher?” he asks.
“My family specialises in ghost-types and I’ve always felt drawn to them.”
“If you ever visit Sinnoh, I’ll introduce you to Fantina. You would have a lot to talk about,” Volkner replies, and when he sees your clueless expression, he adds, “she’s the gym leader of Hearthome City. She uses ghost-types and she can see spirits, so I guess you can as well?”
Volkner does not beat around the bush.
Surprisingly enough, you don’t find yourself feeling too uncomfortable and so you nod, “…I can, yeah.”
You wonder what response you will elicit; maybe he’d laugh or shrug you off and tell you he doesn’t believe in ghosts.
But instead he says, “What do they look like?” and you gawk at him.
No-one has ever asked you this before.
“It depends. Sometimes they appear exactly the way they were when they died. Others appear polished and clean, looking as they did in a particular point of their life….usually when they were most happiest. They’re usually transparent….then there are evil spirits, who are so warped by evil they lose shape and form and appear as either a black mass or scrawling dark shadows.”
Now that you’re talking about ghosts again, you cannot seem to stop.
“Actually, before I came here to see you and Jace, I visited my mentor and he said I might begin to see them during broad daylight too, which is disturbing because usually entities are more active and make their presences known at night, and that’s why I’m always investigating at late hours and usually I’m not even awake during the day.”
Volkner absorbs it and you’re waiting for him to say something to you somewhere along the lines of you being a kook or whatnot but nothing of that sort happens and again, you’re astounded when you realise he has not come under the impression that you are unhinged.
“I see. That’s interesting. It must be tough for you right now to show me around at this time.”
“Nah, it’s fine. I’m actually on a break right now so I’m trying to come out more during the day.”
“Is that so?”
You nod. “Did Jace tell you?”
“What?”
“We just got discharged from hospital; I took a case and it ended up…well, I wouldn’t say it ended badly but me and Jace did get hurt.”
“Yes, he told me but he said he’s unharmed. Is that the reason why your arm is bandaged?”
“Yeah. I’ve got stitches.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, what happened?”
“Uh….”
You’re a little apprehensive but considering he’s been rather open with you, you decide to tell him about Rose’s case and the haunted art gallery.
You breeze along the promenade; there is a separate strip for cyclists who speed past you in their triathlon gear and runners jog together, chatting amiably about gym battles and the Beauty Pageant. Several passerbys walk with their Stoutlands and some ladies with prams huddle together in one corner under a lamppost whilst a poor boy up ahead is being dragged all over the place by his energetic Boltund as it dives headfirst into a group of Pidoves.
As you talk, Volkner is listening though his expression remains impassive and generally hard to read. You cannot help but think he is perhaps bored until he sees an old gentleman sitting on a bench playing an accordion.
A Mr Rime tap-dances with its cane in tune to the music whilst some people strolling by flip pennies into a hat on the ground near its feet.
A short distance away, a group of buskers stand inside a gazebo decorated with white and pink flowers, singing an old song with their instruments. Volkner observes before he heads towards the direction of the crowd.
“Wait up,” you say as you hurry after him. He walks fast.
Once you’re at the gazebo, you both find a good spot to listen; he stands stiffly beside you with his arms crossed though there’s a small smirk gracing his face. You’re not alone; there are many people standing and listening with their children and pokemon. When they finish their piece, the crowd cheer and whilst some stay, the majority disperses.
“You don’t see that often in Sinnoh.” Volkner mutters, before he tosses a coin for the buskers.
And the walk continues.
You inhale some crisp clear air and exhale contently. Wyndon is lively today and the weather is wonderful; the sky is blue and clear and the sunlight is warm but perfect, gently prickling on your skin. A flock of Wingull can be heard cawing as they soar through the air effortlessly on their elongated wings whilst a Pelipper or two eye a local fish and chip stall.
If only Leon was here, you think.
You pass an ice-cream stall which you ogle for longer than intended; you recall you haven’t had one for some time and suddenly Volkner says, “Would you like one?”
“...Sure.”
He asks you what flavour you want and when you tell him, he goes up and orders one for you but not for him. You offer to pay but he’s already handing over the amount. You thank him as the ice-cream is pressed into your hand, and he tells you to enjoy it but you feel strange.
If Leon was here, we’d both have one or we’d be sharing…
Your expression falls upon this thought.
Wyndon Stadium soon looms into view.
He hasn’t seen anything like it before and you allow Volkner a few moments to marvel the exterior during the daytime before heading inside.
You’re surrounded by images of Leon from all four corners whether it be from the electronic billboards, TV screens, posters and portraits, which makes your heart flutter and you spot the same kiosk you had purchased some Leon merchandise before except this time the line is even bigger and there’s a Leon body pillow on display as well as a life-sized Leon cardboard cut-out. Lots of girls are queuing up to take photos.
Jace is there in his Ball Guy persona, and you see his boss standing at the door so unfortunately he cannot talk to either of you but he does wave. You wave back and Volkner strolls up to the front desk where a Macro Cosmos employee greets him.
“Welcome to Wyndon Stadium! How may I help you?”
“I'm Volkner. I’m here to register for the exhibition match.”
“Oh! Mr Volkner, I should’ve known! Yes, of course. Wait right here, let me get the paperwork.”
Goddamnit, you really hate that word now. As you idle beside Volkner, you ask, “Who’s your opponent?”
“The Champion of Galar.”
You almost choke on your spit as you splutter out in disbelief, “Leon!?”
“Yeah,” Volkner replies, as the employee hands him a pen and the aforementioned papers which are collected inside a clear file which he proceeds to look over before he fills in the blanks.
The employee moves away to give him some space as he writes down his pokemon team and other useful information before he’s given a Dynamax band which he eyes a little warily.
“…..I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this but as a representative of Sinnoh, I’ll do my best," he murmurs.
“Of course.”
“Will you cheer for me?”
“HUH? Oh, uh…..um….but I don’t even have a ticket,” you babble out, but then you recall that Leon gave you a Wyndon stadium pass but before you can mention it, Volkner pulls out a flimsy sheet of paper from within the file and hands it to you.
“You do now.”
You gawk at the ticket that he’s presented. It’s a VIP ticket, reserved for the Sinnoh representative’s plus one. “Don’t waste it on me, Jace should get it-“
The employee returns and promptly talks over you. “Mr Volkner! The Champion is actually in the stadium and practising right now; I’m sure he’d love to meet you in person!”
"We've already met last night, but sure," Volkner nods in agreement and the employee lifts up the barricade, allowing entry. He passes and the Macro Cosmos guy looks at you with a brow raised. “She’s with me."
“Yes, of course, Mr Volkner. Do come in, both of you.”
You hope you don’t see Rose inside.
The Macro Cosmos employee guides you towards an elevator which takes you to a staff and contestants-only passageway that leads to a large corridor. Up ahead and you a see locker room. The corridor finishes with a large opening that reveals the spacious and grandiose pitch.
Volkner barely bats an eyelid to the ingenious architecture and once the employee guides you to the pitch, your breath closes up in your throat when you see Leon standing at one side of the gargantuan space, directing Charizard who is whirling around in the air, flapping his wings and zigzagging left to right.
The employee leads you over to the Champion who stops in mid-sentence and Charizard, with no further instructions, abruptly lands a short distance away.
Leon’s gaze lands on you and the surprise is evident on his handsome face; he prevents his jaw dropping in time and hastily glances between you and Volkner before ultimately tensing up on his spot. His fist clinches for a split second before relaxing, and he welcomes you both with a gentle smile.
“Hello Volkner.”
“Hi Leon.”
"It's nice to see you again."
"Likewise."
They shake hands as the employee leaves your group, slipping away quietly and unnoticed.
Meanwhile, Charizard appears elevated with your presence from out of the blue and bounds over, stomping on his bulky legs and huffing happily as he reaches your side and he begins to rub his snout all over the top of your head affectionately, messing up your hair.
“Hey Charizard,” you giggle with a huge smile on your face as you pet his leathery belly whilst Leon stares at you intently.
And then there’s Volkner and the Champion glances at the gym leader before his eyes flit back to you questioningly and it’s then you realise, oh crud I am with another guy what was I thinking? And Leon says, “Are you…?”
“She’s my tour guide,” Volkner replies, “You two know each other?”
It doesn’t sound like a question.
Leon nods. “We’re……...uh...” he struggles, “-friends.”
There is a brief silence.
Charizard does a double-huff, blinking wide-eyed and snorting in surprise at his best friend. Leon seems to have realised his mistake when he witnesses the happy expression on your face gradually dissolve and crumble.
“Ah, um….I mean, er…”
“Friends,” you say quickly, offering a thin and watery smile, “we’re just…friends. Um, I’ll wait for you at the elevator.”
“Sure,” says Volkner, before he adds, “We should go somewhere to eat after this.”
“Okay.”
Following your response, a look of devastation crosses Leon’s face but he is unable to say anything as you hastily make a beeline for the exit, nervously nibbling your bottom lip. Before you leave the pitch and head to the corridor however, a gorgeous young woman in a black dress and heels emerges from the elevator and breezes past you; it’s the beauty pageant winner from last night - Miss Hulbury, now affectionately crowned 'Miss Galar' by the public - and you watch as she rushes up to the pitch, stopping in front of Volkner and Leon.
You continue to observe as she greets them happily and they chat before her gaze lands on Leon and they are both smiling, laughing and chatting amicably together and you can only stare as they stand close and she keeps looking at him and suddenly your gut tightens up; you clench your fist before you turn round with a huff under your breath.
It's not like you to be jealous, but you can't seem to help it.
Beyond your control, you throw one final glance at the pitch where the Champion is; he’s talking to Miss Galar but then his gaze lands on you and you quickly look away and head for the lift.
Waiting for Volkner, you skulk around in the dark and shuffle your feet until he returns, which means Leon and Miss Galar are left alone together.
With no intent to pry into your relationship with Leon (which you are grateful for), you and Volkner make haste for the elevator but before either of you can take one step forwards, the sounds of rushing footsteps pervade the empty corridor and you both turn round to see Leon.
“Wait,” he calls your name as he stops shortly in front of you. He appears a little nervous as he adds, "can I talk to you, alone?"
Stunned, you nod mutely and he reaches for your hand, grasping it firmly with his and he leads you round an empty corner and away from Volkner.
You glance around awkwardly when he lets go of you, and he releases you rather hurriedly as though your hand was as hot as lava or whatnot, and you look up at him in confusion, your gazes meeting. He takes a step towards you and your back hits the wall as you automatically take a baby step back.
Leon's gaze is pinned on you, before he plants one hand by the side of your head and you quirk a brow at his action.
He's not caging you or anything, but he's still cut off one means of exit though you're not inclined to retreat in any way. His face is growing red as he scans you from head and toe, seemingly taken off guard by your appearance; you've put a strong effort into your looks and outfit today and it's rather obvious he's not used to seeing you during daylight hours and in nicer garb, and he clears his throat into his fist and nervously slides his gaze to the side.
"How's your head?" he asks firstly, and you unconsciously lift a hand and trace a finger over the healing wound on the side of your head.
"I'm alright."
"That's good," he says before he jumps right into it: "Are you really Volkner's tour guide?" he adds, a little sheepishly.
You nod. "He's Jace's friend. Jace asked me to meet him today, we were supposed to show Volkner around together but Jace got called into work at last minute so I'm helping out."
"Oh."
He sounds relieved and emits a sigh.
"For a moment, I really thought-" he pauses himself in time. "...Never mind. Forget it."
You resist the urge to grin because the thought of a potentially jealous Leon is rather entertaining and endearing.
"I'm sorry," he adds, flicking his honeyed eyes to you before he attempts to reach for your hand but somehow stops himself in time, choosing to curl his fist into a ball instead. "Please forgive me for what I said back there."
"Leon, it's fine," you reply, "I'm not angry. It'll take more than that to offend me."
But you think Charizard is, and you believe he could be thinking the same thing because he smiles awkwardly at you and rubs the back of his neck.
He's finally relaxing and proceeds to lower his glance to his feet but in fact, he's inching his hand closer to you as though he's hoping to hold it; you watch as he appears to mentally debate with himself before he eventually reaches for you and picks up your hand. You resist the urge to laugh out loud as Leon holds your hand gingerly before he shifts his gaze to you once more for your reaction although his gaze has become pinned onto your lips.
A reassuring smile is his answer which prompts him to grin and lean off the wall to slap his other hand over your entwined hands, casually bringing your hand against his chest. Your smile grows, cheeks growing pink and Leon's face grows ten shades redder, his pulse soaring.
He starts to lean in, your noses nudging together which makes you smile as you contemplate that Leon is attempting to kiss you yet the warmth of his lips continue to elude you as he tries to angle his face to the side in an effort to meet your lips better. The sounds of his thudding heart can be heard but what you really want right now is to feel the strong press of his mouth against yours yet he grows still.
And he doesn't move.
You say, a little expectantly, "Leon?"
"Y-yes?"
"What's the matter?"
"...Um..."
"Don't you want to k-"
Unfortunately you don't get the chance to finish because a tannoy goes off, announcing that Rose is looking for Leon and needs him to return to the pitch.
And so you sigh. He does not fail to notice your look of disappointment and he too, mirrors your expression.
"I should go," you say. Besides, this is probably not the best place to be smooching. Maybe he's thought of the same thing too and that's why he stopped.
"...Alright," he sounds reluctant and disappointed.
To your utmost astonishment, Leon does not release you just yet and instead, gives your fingers a light squeeze and leans over, his warm lips gently brush the shell of your ear as he murmurs, “Meet me at Wyndon Central Gardens, near the riverbank. I finish at seven.”
Then he lets go of you and sprints away.
It happened very quickly and quietly.
Your heart beats frantically but you manage to waddle back to the foyer where Volkner is. "Sorry to keep you waiting."
“No problem. Shall we go?” Volkner asks and you nod limply.
“Y-yeah, let’s go,” is your shaky response.
The employee is waiting for you; he takes you to the main lobby and to the counter where you are let through and you’re back in the eye of the public.
However, a pair of kids rushing with lemonades and soda pops in hands bumps into you from seemingly nowhere and their cold beverages spills all over your front from the impact.
“Sorry!” the kids exclaim as you stand limply, the front of your outfit completely soaked.
“Are you alright?” Volkner asks.
“Oh, uh, yeah, I-I’m fine, it’s-“
The temperature drops. Your heartbeat spikes, your pulse begins to race. A bead of cold sweat drips down your forehead and you look up, startled.
“What’s wrong?”
His voice grows distant as he speaks, fading into a quiet echo in the background as you blink numbly.
The lobby is packed with people, yet you can sense a bizarre presence nearby….a presence that does not belong there.
Eyes narrowing, you filter through the traffic, sifting through the crowds and crowds of bustling, bumbling people until a young girl with pink hair perusing a random kiosk with a Sylveon grabs your attention.
Behind her, a dark figure skulks.
This unsightly individual hovers uncomfortably close to the oblivious girl with her head lazily bent to the right although the more you look, the more you realise her neck is in fact, broken. The spirit is donned in torn clothing and drenched in blood, with deep and long gashes that strains the fabric. The face cannot be seen, covered by long and matted hair that reaches her elbows, with a floral hairclip clinging lifelessly to a thin group of strands.
It’s her.
She doesn’t belong here.
Ezra was right.
You can now see them in broad daylight.
Aware you are looking at her, the ghostly figure twitches and slowly lifts her head up and it’s then you see the extent of her injuries. You have never seen such an atrocity before; she has been bludgeoned beyond recognition. Her eyes are watery and pained gaze meets yours and her bluish lips curl into a smile for a moment, before she vanishes.

🐾Night Terrors & New Beginnings - Part 10 (The USJ Incident)🐾
Tumblr media
The night was warm, the sweet air curling around her body and caressing her wings like soft blankets. Dakota closed her eyes and smelled the air as the wind billowed towards her, the bottoms of her wings skimming the tops of the clouds so that the cool, fluffy material soaked into her scales, small water droplets flying off of the tips with each beat of her wings. Her paws were in the clouds and she purred at the cool feeling that wrapped around her legs and flowed in between her claws. She flew all night, the warm darkness chasing away her weariness and the cool breeze lifting her higher into the air. She twisted her right paw slowly and beat her wings once more, testing the once-broken bones for any pain. She felt none. Her chest and back still stung where the clawed traps had latched onto her flesh, but the bandages that the green-haired boy had placed on them had allowed them to heal just enough for it to be ignorable. A strange pang of sadness shot down her spine and burned in her heart for a moment at the thought of the boy, the one kind human that she had ever met in her life, the one human who did not try to capture her for money or try to force her to mate with other dragons in order to expand their wealth. The one human who actually cared.
Dakota shook her head, trying to erase the image of the smiling green-haired boy from her mind. She opened her eyes and growled low in her throat, her eyes narrowing in annoyance. She had been flying on her own for a week, growing prouder with each passing day at her genius plan of letting the boy heal her while also keeping her hidden until she could fly off on her own once more, but even so, the more she tried to forget him, the more he filled her head, his kind eyes piercing her memories like a hot iron that had been pressed into her brain. She roared out into the brightening night and suddenly felt very weary. Beating her wings lazily, Dakota gathered up some of her remaining energy and blasted a large fireball into the sky in front of her, folding her wings and flying directly into the flames. The warm flames enveloped her, roaring over her scales and giving her the cover needed to hide. She was above the clouds and so no lightning effects occurred during the transformation but the flames worked well enough. When she came out of the other side of her own fireball, her scales had changed so that they reflected the sky around her, allowing her to seemingly turn invisible.
As soon as she was positive that she was hidden, she allowed herself to drift lower and lower until she broke beneath the cloud line, her wings angling so that she could land on the branch of a huge oak tree on the outskirts of a nearby forest. Her claws reached out and grasped the rough bark, her wings, raising, above her head to balance herself as she settled on the branch. She grimaced a little as the branch creaked underneath her weight, her eyes roving over the brightening countryside for any sign of a human presence. She was unable to relax until she was one hundred percent sure she was alone, besides the birds and the deer of the forest. Exhaustion washed through her, flooding her legs and wings, causing her eyelids to droop wearily. Deciding that it was safe enough, Dakota settled down on the branch, curling her paws underneath her and allowing her tail to dangle, double-checking that she was still invisible before unconsciousness took over and she fell into a deep slumber.
A sensation similar to that of ice water creeping slowly down her back caused Dakota to jolt awake, her head snapping up in alarm at the feeling, her ears rotating around rapidly to catch any suspicious noises from the environment around her. She saw nothing, the air smelled clean, and the only sounds that met her ears were the whistling of the birds and the swish of the tree leaves in the breeze. And yet, something was wrong. She could feel it in her bones and her muscles ached to move and fly to the source of the problem. That was when she froze, thinking carefully. Since when had she ever wanted to fly towards a problem? Her instincts were normally to fly away and hide, only fighting when absolutely necessary, trying to avoid detection from her previous captors. But now, her instincts had changed. Her mind screamed at her to move, to find the source, and to eradicate the problem. She tried to shake herself out of it, her ears flapping as her head moved from side to side, but her mind refused to drop the idea and she started to grow agitated. Finally, she stopped fighting her strange urges and she took off, her wings flinging her up in the air.
Dakota shot through the cloud line, her wings folded slightly to move faster. She knew she was still invisible but she hated being out in the open, no matter what, with the sun glaring at her from above her like a hot spotlight. Once she broke through the fluffy clouds, the cool condensation pooling on her scales as she passed through them, she shot another fireball into the sky and flew through it until she had revealed herself once more, her scales returning back to their natural shiny black color. Dakota shook herself as she flew, a slight tingly feeling tickling down her back and sides. She began to fly south, her wings pumping in slight confusion as she tried to figure out which direction to move in. Suddenly, the mark on her forehead began to throb, the swirly figure glowing a faint blue. Dakota threw her wings forward, halting in midair with a pained roar. She paused for a moment before she turned around to fly north, following the slight pull of her marking. As soon as she changed direction, the mark warmed pleasantly, glowing with less strength than before.
Dakota had no idea what she was doing as she flew north, the wind billowing underneath her wings, her eyes scanning the clouds despite not really being able to see anything. She took her time flying across the countryside, using her natural instincts to direct herself. Suddenly, she felt something prick at her nerves, a sharp tingling that ran up and down her spine like an electric shock. Her eyes widened and her ears pricked, her pupils dilating as the scene of clouds in front of her dissipated and reformed as a new scene, one that she had never seen before. She was in a large dome-like building that was filled with random destroyed mini ships and buildings that were scattered throughout the large space. Some of the buildings were on fire, some were buried beneath sand and mud, and the ship was cracked down the center while sitting in the center of a small lake. Dakota blinked a few times and looked around, trying to clear her head and figure out what was going on. She turned around, her eyes roving over each and every corner of the building until they settled on a group of people who were all standing at the top of a large staircase, above all of the destruction. Immediately, she leaped behind a wrecked building, her wings tucked in close to her body and her teeth bared in a silent snarl.
She was sure they had seen her, how could they not have? She knew that she was a large creature and that it would be nearly impossible to avoid detection, especially since she was so disoriented. She waited for the sound of shouting and the pounding of boots but nothing came. She peered around the edge of the building and glanced at the people to see that none of them had seen her despite the fact that they were facing her. Dakota tilted her head slightly in confusion and then looked behind her. She felt all of the energy leave her body as her eyes took in the sheer number of people behind her, all of which were holding some sort of weapon. She pinned her ears and whined in pure panic, all of her fighting instincts flying out the window at the sight of the mass of villains standing around a swirling purple vortex.
“Everyone, stay back! Those are real villains!” A voice called from the top of the stairs. Despite the fact that she practically had to drag her eyes away from the swarms of villains, she managed to peer around the building wreckage again to look up at the group of people at the top of the stairs. She squinted her eyes until the individual figures came into focus, her ears straining for any sound from the villains behind her. She managed to make out a strange-looking human in a giant white suit that bulged out from her sides as if it were made of pillows. This human was standing in front of a group of smaller humans, beside a menacing-looking man in solid black clothes who was holding a long white band from around his neck as if it were a weapon.
A cold laugh echoed throughout the building that washed over Dakota like a bucket of ice water, the iciness seeped into her bones and froze her to the spot, her mouth parting open slightly in shock. She knew that voice. She whipped her head around to face behind her where the swath of villains were located, and felt her heart nearly stop at the sight of their leader. It was him… the man with the hands covering him from head to toe… he was the one who had tortured her, he was the man who had nearly driven away her sanity, who had killed almost every last Night Fury in an attempt to find her. Because he was the one she was supposedly destined to bond with.
“You think you can protect your students, hero? Against the likes of all of us?”
Another cold laugh followed the comment and Dakota shrank back as much as she possibly could in the cramped space.
“I will fight to the end if it means I can protect these aspiring heroes,” the woman in the spacesuit called out.
Dakota swiveled her head back around to look back at the smaller group of people. She peered at all of their faces but it was hard to see them with all of their strange gear and costumes on. Her eyes combed through the group, moving past a spiky blonde boy, a frog-like girl, a boy with strange, purple balls on his head, and then over a girl in a pink, black, and white body-suit with chocolate brown hair. Dakota perked her ears slightly when she saw the girl. She was the sweet girl who had fed her some beef when she was injured. Dakota remembered that the green-haired boy, Izuku, had called her Uraraka. Her tail absentmindedly thumped on the ground twice, but she stopped it before it attracted any unwanted attention. She was still confused as to why she had not been spotted yet despite being in the center of the action, but she decided to not think about it too much and use it to her advantage. Dakota then glanced beside Uraraka and felt her heart skip a beat. It was Izuku. There was no doubt about that green hair and wide eyes.
Dakota suddenly felt severe panic as she realized everything all at once. Izuku was in trouble. That was what her bonding mark had been trying to warn her of. She didn’t even stop to think as she bolted from her hiding spot and out into the center of the area, half galloping and half flying towards Izuku. She took the stairs six at a time and leaped past all of the other people, ignoring them entirely, her ears roaring and her eyes fogging up as she focused entirely on reaching the boy. She finally made it and reached a protective paw out. She really didn’t know what she meant to do, maybe hold him close to her as a thank you and an apology, maybe to bat him across the head for making her feel attached to him but what she did not expect was for her paws to feel nothing but air. She swiped right through him, Izuku’s body disappearing into swirls of smoke.
Dakota whined in confusion and looked around frantically to find all of the people starting to whisk away. She also realized that none of them were looking at her, as if a giant black dragon had not just run in front of them and try to hug one of the students in the group. The building also began to fade until she could once more see clouds in front of her. She whipped her head around back and forth, searching for the people and the villains and the destroyed buildings, only to find empty sky and a large, spanning blanket of clouds below her. She blinked rapidly and shook her head, her entire body trembling with nerves. She calmed herself after a few minutes of breathing and collecting her thoughts. She managed to keep herself in the air as well despite the fact that her wings were trembling and twitching. Once she felt calmer, she narrowed her eyes and changed course slightly. Izuku was in danger and no matter what grudge she held against humans, she was in his debt. Pumping her wings with greater fervor, Dakota aimed for the edge of a forest where a giant meadow bled from the treeline and led the way to a charming little cabin.

Haruka stood at the kitchen sink washing some of the dishes from the previous night’s dinner, staring out the window at the swaying grasses and the proud trees of the forest beyond, thinking about the Night Fury. The one that got away. Cassian brought her out of her reverie with a soft squawking noise and a gentle nudge to her shoulder. Haruka smiled and rubbed the eagle’s head with the tip of her finger.
“Sorry buddy, I know we haven’t had a lot of time together, I am just desperately trying to find that Night Fury. You know how important it is that we find her, both for her sake and for young Midoriya’s,” Haruka said sadly.
Cassian closed his eyes and dipped his head slightly in acknowledgment.
“I promise that as soon as we find her, we can hang out more but in the mean-time, we can go on one flight today but I want to then get back to focusing on where she may have gone.”
Cassian nodded and took off, leaving small scratches on the kitchen counter as he made his way across the hall to a wooden post for him to land on. His wings fluttered as he settled himself on the wood, his talons curling in slightly. Tucking in his wings, the regal bird chirped a little and looked out the window in front of Haruka, gazing at the blue sky. Haruka went back to washing dishes, her eyes downcast and her nimble finger drifting over each plate with warm suds. Cassian was about to turn his head to take a short nap when something small caught his eye. The bird tilted his head at the window and peered sharply into the sky where a tiny black dot had suddenly appeared. The black dot was getting closer and closer until his sharp eagle eyes were able to define the shape in the sky. His heart leaped into his mouth in excitement and Cassian squawked loudly.
Haruka turned to face him and he tittered on the wooden post a little, his beak parted in a small smile.
“I am sorry Cassian but I’ve already told you, we have to wait until later to go flying. I am almost done with the dishes but you have to wait,” She said.
The bird shook his regal head and screeched again. Haruka suddenly felt a soft tug on the edge of her mind, as if someone had suddenly built a small bridge across it and she felt Cassian’s warmth in her head. A deep, growly male voice filled her head as Cassian spoke to her.
“Look out the window, at the sky,” Cassian purred. “Someone finally decided to crash the party.”
Haruka whipped around and Cassian smirked a little as he saw her eyes widen in shock and excitement. She didn’t even respond before bolting out the door to meet the Night Fury, who was darting for them at the speed of a rocket. Cassian did not need any prompting to follow and took off after his bonded dragon rider, his eyes shining. The dragon got closer and all of a sudden, Cassian’s smile disappeared and the gleam in his eye was replaced with something slightly darker as he realized that something was very wrong. She was flying out in the open without any cover and she was beating her wings rapidly.
“Haruka, something is wrong,” Cassian whispered into the bridge of their minds and he felt a gentle caress, like wind blowing across an old wooden fence in the fall, against his mind to show that she had heard him.
Dakota finally landed heavily on the ground and trotted quickly towards the pair, her eyes wide and her chest heaving with exhaustion. Cassian approached her immediately, flying up to her to land on her muzzle. Dakota tensed but held still as the eagle glared at her before giving a low growl.
“What is wrong?” He asked gently.
“I’m not really sure,” Dakota answered. “I was asleep but I was shocked awake by this feeling of panic. I went for a fly to try and clear my head but just ended up experiencing a vision. The green-haired boy is in danger, the one who saved me.”
Cassian nodded and turned back to Haruka, his voice echoing in her mind.
“Midoriya is in danger, let’s go.”
“I’ll get Emiko,” Haruka said and dashed off, her boots thudding heavily on the ground as she ran, leaving the dragons to sit impatiently and wait.

Dakota crouched low to the ground as she moved, her tail swishing behind her and her ears constantly rotating. She had not been too keen on being turned into a dog again but she knew that it would be the best form of disguise for her. She prowled through some bushes and peered through them at the gates of the huge building, her eyes widening as she took in the sight of it. She had described the details of the dome-like building to Haruka and she had informed her that it was a training ground for aspiring heroes and that Izuku and his class were on a field trip there at the moment. Cassian and Haruka had given her the directions to get there and although she had tried to leave right then and there, Emiko had proposed a new idea. Dakota glanced once more at the giant U.A. sign that stood proudly at the center of the gate, before moving carefully out into the open.
The security gates to the school had been temporarily destroyed by a bunch of nosy reporters a few days earlier and so although it was open, there were a few guards that remained standing on either side. Dakota kept them noted before looking around to her left to see Emiko and Cassian. Cassian remained in his eagle form but Emiko pressed a palm to her chest and let her quirk reassemble her body until she had reformed into the shape of a small tabby cat. Dakota nodded once and immediately the two were sent into action, Emiko running out of the bush with her fur ruffled and her teeth bared into a snarl. Cassian screeched and chased the seemingly frazzled cat, leaning down as if to snatch her in his talons before lifting up at the last second and circling low to the ground once more. Emiko hissed and spat and ran right for the gates. The guards tried to redirect her but Cassian flew right in their faces, giving Dakota just enough time to slip in. As soon as she was out of sight, Cassian and Emiko ran off, Cassian continuing to pretend to capture her.
“Jesus… that was something wasn’t it?”
“Yeah, but I guess it is part of the job.”
Dakota perked her ears at their conversation to make sure she had not been discovered before she shook herself and ran towards the building. Dakota galloped at the doors, her paws drumming wildly on the pavement. Suddenly, a medium-sized object splat down in front of her. Dakota looked up to see Cassian circling above her. He let out a squawk and she replied back with a bark before leaning down and grabbing the hero notebook from the ground. Cassian had flown to Izuku’s home and snatched it while the others debriefed on the plan.
Dakota pushed open the doors with her nose and body, looking around skeptically for any sign of a trap. When she had determined that the coast was clear, she trotted quickly into the hallway and padded towards down a hall where she heard voices. The voices got louder and louder as she walked and she paused several feet away, her fear of humans taking over her movement. She hesitated as one person laughed loudly and boisterously from inside a room at the end of the hall but shook herself to clear her head. Taking a deep breath, Dakota galloped down the hall and skidded to a stop at the door with a loud bark. She set the notebook on the ground as the voices faltered, and she leaped up to touch the door with her paws, jumping backward and barking loudly.
“Is that a dog…?” Someone asked before opening the door.
The person who opened the door almost sent Dakota running, but she planted her paws and barked again, louder this time to a tall, lanky blonde-haired man with a yellow suit.
“Present Mic? What is going on over there?”
“It’s a dog, Nedzu.”
“How did the dog get in here?”
“I don’t really know…”
The tall man kneeled and held his hand out a little. Dakota wanted nothing more than to shrink away and growl but she forced herself to smell and then lightly lick the tip of his knuckle.
“She seems friendly enough,” He said in a loud voice. “Hey sweet one, what are you doing here?” The man tried to pet her but she backed away and barked again, twirling in a circle and grabbing Izuku’s notebook. She let out a muffled bark and twirled again, her ears rotating wildly.
“Hey… is that… Midoriya’s book?” Present Mic asked, reaching down and gently taking it from her. Dakota whined and paced up and down the hall, running half-way down and then back up with a bark. She finally looked at the man dead in the eyes and tilted her head in the direction of the exit, whining slightly.
“Nedzu, I think we need to go check on Aizawa and the students,” Present Mic said apprehensively.
“Now, now, lets not get too crazy,” a new voice said followed by the appearance of a rat/dog/bear cross in a suit and tie. “Aizawa and Thirteen are more than capable pros, you need to finish your lesson planning.”
“But this dog…”
“Don’t worry about the dog, I will tend to it,” Principle Nedzu said.
“Oh alright…” Present Mic turned to leave when the dog launched at him and grabbed the cuff of his pant leg in her teeth. Present Mike paused and she tugged on it slightly before dropping it and making a circle with another whine.
Nedzu tilted his head and twirled his tail.
“You know what, Present Mic? I think maybe we should go check on those kids…”

Dakota led the way down the sidewalks and across the streets. She galloped the entire way, her paws bleeding from the constant friction. Her ears were pinned as she ran and she flinched in pain but she refused to give up, this was nothing compared to some of the other things she had been forced to endure. She could sense herself getting nearer and just as some of the teachers were beginning to complain about the long-distance and how they were just on a wild goose chase with a dog, a tall teenager shot around the corner, smoke roiling from his calves. Dakota yelped and skidded to a stop before leaping off of the pavement and bounding into the brush beside her, hiding in the plants.
“Iida?” Present Mic asked.
“Present Mic! Nedzu! Everyone! We have been attacked by villains, they have cut off our communication system so we have been unable to contact anyone but my fellow classmates are fighting for their lives in the USJ!”
The teachers glanced at each other and then took off with Iida, tearing down the sidewalk towards the dome building. Despite the fact that her part was basically over, she felt a strange need to watch them, to make sure they actually got there to save the boy and repay her debt, so she followed them at a slightly slower pace, giving her paws a rest.

Izuku didn’t know what to do. All Might was bleeding from the side, he had defeated the Nomu but he was exhausted and his time in his muscle form was wearing thin, the smoke from around him just barely masking the smoke that was coming off of his body. The amazing hero was trying to get the villains to secede but so far they refused to leave, just standing there, clenching their fists and shaking with barely suppressed anger.
“You cheated…” A scratchy voice called out as the owner of the voice reached up with cold, dead-looking hands to scratch at his already very irritated neck. Suddenly, just as the hand villain began to get worked up, the villain who had teleported the whole group of villains here leaned down and whispered something to his childish boss.
“Ahhhh yes I guess I could settle for that idea…” Suddenly, the hand villain leaped at All Might with furious force, like an angry cat leaping at an unsuspecting mouse. All Might got into a weak fighting position but really had no idea what to do as the man came flying at him with his rotting hands outstretched. Before the villain could even get half-way to All Might, Izuku was in the air, getting ready to aim a full-fledged punch at the man. A purple vortex bloomed in front Izuku just as the man looked over in surprise which had Izuku looking right into the dead hands. The villain began to laugh as the obvious fear lit up Izuku’s features, his hand starting to close on Izuku’s face…
The villain’s arm jerked on the spot, away from Izuku’s face and flailing back in the wrong direction. The villain screamed as three more bullets made it to each of his limbs before a large purple vortex swathed over him as a shield.
“They’re here!” All Might groaned in exhaustion as the other U.A. teachers made themselves known on the front step by the doors. Iida stood panting in the middle of the group, his glasses sliding down his nose as she shouted out to his classmates. Izuku lay on the ground, his legs once more broken but his friends and mentor were safe and that was all he cared about.
_______________________________________________
Izuku and all of the other students and staff who had been at the USJ were admitted to a hospital as soon as all of the villains had been arrested and contained. His legs were pretty easy to fix and so although he was still pretty shaken up, he was able to go home at the end of the day. He walked home with his friends after they had been released but they remained in an uneasy silence compared to their normal bright chattiness. Izuku coughed awkwardly as they walked and glanced at Iida.
“Congrats today, Iida! You really pulled off the timing today with getting the teachers to come and help us out,” Izuku said with a weak smile.
“Yeah, I was actually really lucky though, I met the teachers half-way there, they were already on their way.”
“Oh, really?” Ochako piped up from Izuku’s right side.
“Yeah. When I asked them how they had known about the attack, they said that a strange dog had come and alerted them by barking and running to the exit and back. Principle Nedzu said that they had almost ignored it but decided to check it out. Seems like a good thing considering with would have happened had they not showed up.”
“A dog?” Izuku asked incredulously. His mind immediately shot to Dakota at this thought. He had been trying to keep thoughts of the dragon out of his mind, his emotions and mental capabilities already plenty busy with school and making friends and becoming a good hero. But he knew that he would never forget her completely. He hadn’t been sleeping well ever since she left and in the dark loneliness of the night, he often thought about her no matter how hard he tried to shove her out of his brain.
Izuku left his friends at the train station, waving goodbye and then turning to go to his home. He sighed as the evening breeze kissed his cheeks, and he ran a nervous hand through his hair, his eyes averted to the ground as he thought about the attack. Finally, Izuku rounded a corner and made it to his side of the street. He looked up to reach for the door when he stopped dead in his tracks. Sitting there, holding his hero notebook gently in her jaws, was the dog form of Dakota. The two stared at each other for a moment. She tilted her head and looked him over, her eyes trailing all over him for wounds. When she was satisfied she met his gaze again, her blue eyes sparkling brightly at him. Izuku suddenly felt a gentle caress down his mind and he gasped at the strange sensation.
“W-welcome b-b-back Dakota,” Izuku said in a tone that was a mix of anger, relief, and excitement.
“T-Thank you,” She responded in his mind, her sweet, soft voice filling his head pleasantly. Izuku gasped and she growled but she padded up to him anyway, her head held up high. She made it to his side before she pressed her muzzle into his hand and sighed.
“It feels good to be home.”

🐾Night Terrors & New Beginnings - Part 4 (Hidden Treasures)🐾
Tumblr media
As soon as the Midoryas left her home, Haruka immediately jumped into the air with her fist raised excitedly. She felt like a giddy school girl again, adrenaline coursing through her veins and happiness forcing her to smile the widest she had smiled in a long time. Her doctor friend had indeed told her that the dragon that had attacked Izuku was thought to be a Night Fury but she hadn’t dared to believe it, they were just too rare, never seen and constantly moving at speeds faster than that of sound. She had worked with a lot of dragons but she had never ever seen a Night Fury before. She whirled around, the tea and treats forgotten on the coffee table and rushed for her office. Her eagle raised his wings and flew after her, swerving around the corner and landing on her desk beside her laptop.
Haruka leaned down and opened up one of her drawers, moving all of the papers and pens out of the way until she reached the bottom. Once she reached the bottom of the drawer she reached her fingers around the corner and pulled up, revealing a hidden compartment. She smiled as she pulled out a bow along with her phone and a quiver of arrows. She closed the drawer and stood up, moving to the shelf that lined the wall of her office. Her eagle ruffled his feathers and followed Haruka’s line of sight as she scanned the shelf. After a minute, the eagle cawed and flew over to the shelf, reaching a talon to point at a glass bottle that was filled with a pale green liquid. Haruka smiled at the eagle and plucked the bottle from the shelf, slipping it into one of the little pockets in her robe.
“Nice work Cassian! Are you ready to go?” The eagle cawed again and took off, following Haruka back through the living room and out into the backyard. Haruka’s backyard was a large spanning meadow that flowed into a forest at the back. Haruka strode through the tall grass of her meadow, Cassian coasting beside her until they entered the calming clutches of the dark forest.
_______________________________________________
Hours passed and although they had not found anything, Haruka never lost hope. She glanced up through the trees and watched as Cassian flew above her, scanning the forest floor for their prize. Haruka glanced back down at the ground and moved her way through the foliage, her eyes watching for any sign that the dragon had crossed through the area. Suddenly, Cassian dove down toward the ground in a sharp decline. Haruka paused and stood still, waiting for him to return. It was at least half an hour before the bird rose back into the sky and shot toward her, his wings beating the air frantically. The eagle landed on the forest floor and tilted his head to look more directly at Haruka. After a second of catching his breath, Cassian nodded to Haruka. The eccentric woman then leaned back and glanced around them, one hand resting on the pommel of her sword, making sure that nobody was around. After she was one hundred percent sure that nobody was around, she nodded slightly to Cassian. She then picked up her phone and called a friend. The phone only got through the first ring before someone picked up on the other end.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Emiko! It’s Haruka, Cassian has found something, can you please come over here and use your quirk on him?”
“Sure thing, where are you? I am over by the river that we passed a little while ago.”
“Perfect, I can meet you over there.”
Haruka then beckoned to Cassian who took off once more for the river. It only took a few minutes for the pair to reach Emiko, a friend of Haruka’s who was a fan of adventure and enjoyed helping Haruka with her odd jobs. Emiko looked up as they pushed through the brush and smiled at them, wiping the sweat off of her brow. Haruka trotted up to Emiko and Cassian landed on the ground beside them, his mouth open as he caught his breath. Emiko looked down at him and smiled at the old bird.
“Hello again, Cassian! Are you ready?” Emiko leaned back and stretched her arms above her head, sighing as a satisfying pop sounded from in between her shoulder blades. The bird nodded and stood up tall as Emiko leaned down with her palm out, her fingers glowing a faint yellow. Haruka smiled as she watched them, her mind flooding with the sweet memories of when she had met Emiko in middle school when she had accidentally turned Haruka into a lizard during lunch. It was after this incident that Haruka had learned that Emiko’s quirk was the ability to hide the true form of things by turning them into animals or objects with her fingers. Even so, they had become good friends with a taste for adventure and a love for all living things.
Now, Emiko pressed her fingers to Cassian’s side, careful not to damage his beautiful wings and stepped back after the glow had dimmed from her fingers. Her quirk took a moment to take effect as Cassian’s body began to change, his feathers falling off to be replaced with a hard exterior and his beak changing into a snout all while his body was growing into a size much larger than that of a bird. The two women stepped back to admire their work as the creature standing before them stretched his lavish wings and blinked his eyes as he grew reaccustomed to the world around him.
The Boneknapper dragon then shook himself, the bones that covered his body like armor clacking together until he settled back down, leaning down to look at the women properly. Haruka smiled and placed a hand on the front of his nose where a swirly mark lay. Once her hand met with the mark on his muzzle, both her hand and his snout began to glow with a soft blue hue. They broke apart after a minute and looked at each other lovingly before Haruka walked around to his flank where she placed her foot in the indention of one of the bones covering his back leg to hoist herself up onto his back. Emiko dug through her own leather bag and pulled out a small book. Raising her hand and allowing her fingertips to glow with the power of her quirk, she touched the book until it had reformed back into its normal shape, which was that of a dragon saddle. Once the saddle had reshaped in her arms, she threw it to Haruka who caught it and situated it on top of the Boneknapper’s back near the base of the neck so that the bones that protruded from that spot would not stab right through her. Once she was settled in the saddle she reached a hand out for Emiko and helped her up.
“Ready?” Haruka asked.
“Ready.”
Haruka patted her dragon’s neck and he raised his wings high into the air, his bones rattling together. Finally, he forced his mighty wings down as hard as he could and they were shot into the air. Cassian flew right into the clouds so as to avoid being seen by other people and Haruka pulled a long microscope-looking object out of her bag, leaning over her dragon’s side until it poked out from just underneath the clouds. Looking down into the forest below, she reached forward and placed her hand on the back of her dragon’s head, her hand starting to glow again.
“Tell me when you find it again, Cassian,” Haruka said, using the power from her hand to allow Cassian to see what she was seeing. The dragon sighed and his eyes darted around as he too looked down at the forest floor despite being above the clouds. This was how they had avoided detection for all of these years. They had been flying for a long time when Cassian suddenly perked up with a growl. Haruka looked to the left and saw it too. She patted him again and he tilted his wings so that they were then aiming for the ground once more. They landed softly in the center of a clearing. The wind swayed the grass and ruffled the water but it also carried the strong scent of blood with it. Haruka and Emiko pulled their shirts over their noses as the smell attacked their senses with the full force of a truck hitting a steel beam at full speed. Haruka’s eyes watered but she pushed past it and looked around the bloody clearing.
“Stay close, both of you,” Haruka said, looking back at both of her best friends. Emiko nodded and Cassian purred softly before sniffing the air and walking around. Despite the immense amount of blood in the clearing, there were no bodies which meant that either the dragon didn’t kill anyone or someone had removed all of the bodies. Haruka hoped it was the first option but really had no idea as she too started to walk around. Emiko took to the perimeter of the clearing while Haruka went to the center of the clearing to where the largest puddle of blood in the whole field sat. She knew this was dragon’s blood due to the fact that if any person had lost this much blood they would’ve been dead two times over.
Haruka leaned down and pressed her fingers into the mess to find that the blood was old. She saw a trail of blood leading a little ways away from the spot in three different directions and felt each one, her fingers running along the grass tips until they had developed a red tinge. She finally got to the third trail of blood that had branched off from the main puddle. It seemed like the weakest trail of blood and was barely visible as tufts of grass covered the path but Haruka ran her fingers over it gingerly anyway. She froze as her fingers came back slick and red. This blood was fresh. Haruka frantically looked around, her eyes roving over every crevice and ditch in the clearing, her ears alert and her skin tingling with nerves.
“Uh… Haruka?”
“Yeah?”
“I think that is what you are looking for.”
Haruka glanced at Emiko to see her staring up into a tree directly above them. Haruka gulped and slowly looked up to see the Night Fury looking down at them, its mouth split into a snarl, its eyes gleaming and its torn wings opened wide.
Haruka couldn’t find the strength to scream or move as the beast leaped down from the tree. The only thing stopping the dragon from landing directly on top of her was Cassian, who jumped over the river and batted Haruka out of the way with his giant paws. She landed a little rough on the ground but didn’t care, the adrenaline running through her veins masking the slight pain so that she didn’t even notice.
“Cassian!” Haruka cried out as the Night Fury roared at the Boneknapper, its teeth bared and its silver claws flexing into the dirt so that it left long ruts on the forest floor. It snapped open its wings wider as it snarled at Cassian, hoping to appear larger and more intimidating. Cassian was much larger than the Night Fury but Haruka knew better, her dragon would be no match for the offspring of lightning and death itself. With its wings wide open, Haruka could see the large slashes that covered the sensitive membranes all over and saw the blood seep slowly from its body whenever it moved. She knew why the dragon was attacking but she wanted some way to show that they would not harm it. She was about to say something along those lines to Emiko and Cassian when the Night Fury launched at her dragon from the left before ducking down and leaping onto his back from the right. Cassian yelped and whipped around, hitting his flank on a nearby tree to try to shake off the Night Fury.
Haruka only saw red as her dragon yelped again. She loved dragons and didn’t want to hurt this dragon, especially since it was a Night Fury but she couldn’t hold back anymore. With an angry yell, she focused on the dragon’s right front leg and used all of her brainpower to activate her quirk. She felt her quirk activate with the tiniest clicking sound in her mind and she tilted her head to the left with a swift jerk. Within the seconds she heard the sound of a bone snapping and the Night Fury let out a howl of pain, falling off of Cassian. Cassian went to pounce on the dragon but Haruka stopped him with a sharp shout.
The Night Fury looked at her in anger and blinding white horror as Haruka approached it, its wings flailing as it tried to sit up. It let out a strangled cry when it felt someone’s hand press against its flank. Haruka looked up at Emiko in shock as the other woman basically leaped onto the Night Fury and pressed her glowing fingers to its side, her breathing fast and rough as she tried to force the panic down. In less than a minute, the panicking beast had shrunk, its wings folding into themselves until they had disappeared, the dragon’s head shrinking and changing, and its body compacting and growing into soft, fluffy fur. Once the transformation was over, the Night Fury managed to shakily stand up on its three non-damaged legs and shake a little bit, its midnight black fur flowing with the movement. The dragon had been transformed into a big black dog with pointed ears, bright eyes, and a fluffy tail. It looked like a German Shepherd but it definitely didn’t act like one. The dog looked around, its eyes dilating and narrowing as it got used to the different eyesight. It shook its head and let out a severe snarl that didn’t even sound canine.
After a few moments of getting used to its new body, the dog looked up at the two women and the now huge Boneknapper dragon and pinned its ears in fear. It barked at them and bared its teeth as it backed away slowly into the foliage at the edge of the clearing.
“Easy, easy now, don’t worry, we won’t hurt you,” Haruka said, holding one hand out warmly, the other hand, holding her bow and an arrow between two fingers, the tip of the arrow glistening with the pale green liquid from the bottle in her pocket.
She didn’t expect the creature to believe her after what they had done to it but she just needed to stall it until they could trap it. She motioned ever so slightly to Emiko who was about to throw the net they had prepared for the Night Fury’s capture when the beast snarled at them once more and galloped away, nearly falling over on it’s injured legs but still managing to move fast enough to avoid capture. Without thinking, Haruka raised her bow and fired an arrow after the dog, wincing as she heard a yelp in the distance.
“No, wait!” Emiko said with her hand held out as if to stop the already long gone dragon from leaving. The pair ran after the dog, their arms pumping and their breathing ragged as they tore after the beast. They only stopped when they stumbled upon the arrow that Haruka had fired on the forest floor, the tip gleaming with a hint of blood. Emiko hung her head.
“Haruka, I am so sorry, I didn’t throw the net when you asked me to and I turned it into a dog so now it is going to be impossible to find again. I am so sorry, I messed up everything!”
Haruka placed a hand on her shoulder and Emiko looked up, her eyes shining with the beginning of new tears.
“You didn’t ruin anything, Emiko, in fact, you have made this situation so much better for us. I know exactly were that dragon is going, and now dragon hunters won’t have a clue how to find it. As an added bonus, the Night Fury may have shaken off my arrow but I still hit it, that dragon will be asleep in no time. We will see that dragon again, don’t you worry.”
Emiko gave Haruka a hug and smiled into her neck. She sniffled and leaned back to wipe her eyes clear.
“Thanks, Haru, but how do you know where the Night Fury is going?”
“Because it is going to the only place it can go, to the place where it can be understood and taken care of. Follow me, I will show you.”

Super 5 headcanons part 5
Minegishi sigued.
"For the last time I won't help you sell Shimazaki on ebay" Minegishi stopped dicing the vegetables and turned to look at him with what in any other person would have been a raised eyebrow "I don't even think it's possible"
"Who would even buy him?" Shibata helpfully added from his spot at the sink where he was washing the dishes "Besides world domination our friend isn't that useful for anything else"
Hatori stared when Minegishi just silently nodded
"I don't know! But thats not the point!" Hatori grunted while shaking his head "It's time for some retaliation-"
"So your idea for retaliation..." Minegishi deadpanned "is to sell him on ebay?"
Hatori wasn't dumb, he could hear the snicker behind his flat expression.
"Laugh all you want!" Hatori said pointing an acussatory finger to Minegishi "But I am tired of letting Shimazaki do whatever he wants with is without facing any consequence!"
"Are you still mad about the raccoon thing?" Shibata laughed drying his hands with a washcloth to pat Hatori on the back "C'mon! It was just one rabies shot! And the doctor said it was just cautionary"
Hatori flustered when this time Minegishi openly snickered "You got rabies shots? Aren't you supposed to get those as a kid?"
"Why would I know? Do you even have yours?" Hatori retorted bittely not expecting Minegishi to actually stop laughing.
"I don't know...?"
"Aha!" Hatori exclaimed not wasting the opportunity to latch onto this "What if that bastard brings ANOTHER racoon?!"
"He wouldn't-"
"Are you sure? Absolutely sure?"
At Minegishi's lack of response Hatori screamed victoriously "See? This is why you have to support me with my plan!"
"Sell him on ebay you say..." Minegishi muttered while tapping the kitchen counter with his finges.
"You can't be seriously considering this!" Shibata exclaimed outraged "Ha ve you lost your minds? We aren't selling our friend on internet"
"He's not my friend" Hatori quickly complained.
"And I never said I agreed on selling him on ebay" Minegishi continued "But Hatori's right and it's time we put some limits to him"
"YES"
"And that's why we should talk with him instead"
"SHIBATA NOOOO"
"Shibata's right"
"NOOOOOOOO" Hatori cried miserably, victory had been so close "whyyyy?"
"Im sorry buddy but that's the right and mature thing to do" Shibata said not sounding sorry at all
"Hatori stop whinning and finish setting the table so we can finally eat"
Minegishi rolled his eyes at Hatori's sulking form and finished cooking with Shibatas help.
Once they entered the living room with the finished food Minegishi noticed Hatorics hesitance
"Is something wrong?"
"I was just wondering if i should put another plate. Is the bastard going to eat with us?"
"Speaking of which" said Shibata carrying the last of their homemade food "Where is he?"
"I don't know" shrugged Minegishi "He was annoying me because he was bored and you were late so I told him to go and find something else to do before I choked him"
"And he did it just like that?" Shibata asked surprised.
"I had to threaten him starvation and not buying his cereal forst but it worked"
Shibata hummed "He probably went dog sighting"
"Probably"
"How long ago was that"
"Like 5 minutes before you arrived"
"Then it will be a while before he returns"
Minegishi shrugged again "I wouldn't worry about him"
They were halfway through their food when Hatorics eyes catch sight of something in Shimazakis makeshift cabinet.
"Are those his glasses?"
Minegishi turned to where Hatori was pointing "Yes"
"I thought he didn't take them off ever"
"I guess he listened when I complained about dogs saliva on them" Minegishi said "If he is indeed dog sighting"
"I'm pretty sure he is" Shibata said comfidently "Dog saliva? Really?"
"Yeah, between that and the paw shaped stains on his clothes...he was driving me crazy"
"Oh I know! The first time it was really hard to get rid of the stench of trash but I found in internet a helpful mix of..." Shibata's words died in his mouth when he saw Hatori stand up and pick the glasses.
Minegishi stared confused "What are you doing?"
Hatori didn't respond and when he made his way to his forgotten backpack Shibata facepalmed.
"Buddy, no. Did you seriously bought those?"
Hatori turned around with a devilish smile om his face while clearly hiding something behind his back. "Well i never thought you would actually help me with the ebay plan"
Minegishi turned to look at Shibata expecting some kimd of clarification.
"We passed a toy store on our way here and Hatori saw...something." Shibata said in a tired tone shaking his head clearly dissppointed "I can't explain it...Just show him already"
Hatori proudly revealed what he was hiding. Besides Shimazaki's glasses there was another pair.
"You do realize he wont ever fall for this right?" Minegishi deadpanned once again "He will immediately feel those antennaes movement"
"Have more faith in me" Hatori huffed taking off the apparently removable antennaes thus making the glasses look a little less stupider but stupid nonetheless.
Minegishi picked both glassesand turned them around inspecting them. He had to give Hatori some credit. he had managed to find a pair with the exact same shape as Shimazakis and made of the same cheap plastic.
They were perfect...except for one thing.
"They don't weight the same" Minegishi stated raising the toy glasses. to be honest he wasn't sure but it was an educated guess.
"You gotta be kidding me right?" Hatori exclaimed "Who cares? He won't even notice that!"
"He will" Minegishi seriously said before standing up and walking away still holding both pair of glasses.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Hatori screamed following Minegishi back in the kitchenb Shibata just behind him.
When they got there they found Minegishi already kneeling rummaging one of his low cabinets.
Hatori turned to look at Shibata but the big man just shrugged in return as lost as him.
"Aja!" Minegishi suddenly exclaimed standing up holding his white digital scale. He then weighted both pair of glasses.
The toy glasses weighted 10 grams less.
"Told you" Minegishi triumphantly exclaimed.
"So?" Hatori spluttered "Yeah, fine! They don't weight the same. It's just 10 grams! He won't-"
"He will"
"Again I repeat myself" Hatori said losing his patience "YOU GOTTA BE FUCKINH KIDDING-"
He couldn't finish his sentence because Shibata decided in that moment to place one of his heavy hands on Hatori's shoulder "Minegishi...Hatori is right. Don't you think you are being a little... paranoic?"
"No" Minegishi firmly stated shaking his head "Why do you think I take him shopping?"
"Because you were trying to teach him how to be a good person...?" Shibata tried only for Minegishi to glare at him. They already knew how much of a failure that had been.
Hatori shrugged, now it was his turn to try. "Dunno man. I don't even know why you even let him sleep here"
At the others failed attempts Minegishi continued "I don't know how or what he does but he somehow can weight stuff with great precision"
"What" "What"
"I suspect it has something to do with Mental eye" Minegishi kept muttering unaware of the others awed expression.
"That's...unexpected" "That's fucked up"
"It helps me to make sure Im being sold what I payed for" Minegishi shrugged "ANYWAY my point is if I noticed it he will certainly do it too. If we are doing this we have to do it right"
The phrasing didn't escape Hatori. "We...?" he asked in disbeliefb excitement barely concealed in his tone.
When Minegishi smirked Hatori couldn't help but give a devilish smirk of his own. in unison they both turned to Shibata who just groaned.
"Fine. I'm in"
Both Minegishi and Hatori raised a fist in triumph. Shibata hesitantly joining them.
"But what are we doing then?" Shibata asked "The glasses don't weight the same and Shimazaki is gonna arruve any moment now"
"Shit that's true"
"I have an idea" Minegishi said calling upon the power welling inside him.
"That's enough...right?" Hatori quietly asked.
"It has to be..." Shibata added before turning to look at Minegishi. He was the judge, had the last work.
"I don't know." Minegishi confessed "But this will have to do. Quick Hatori. Shibata. Set everything we will need in place. We only have one chance amd we can't afford to waste it."
They barely had time to finish their already cold food and prepare everything when Shimazaku suddenly appeared in the middle of the room.
They did their best to act naturally hoping the blind man didn't notice anything.
The moment Shimazaki popped in Minegishi's living room he knew something was off.
He could feel the remnants of Hatori's aura telling him he had been building artifacts but wherever they were they were deactivated because he couldn't sense them. They were probably diacarded om the floor. It wasn't the first time he did that.
He could feel Shibata tensing his muscles too but it wasn't like Shimazaki cared. He was hungry and he could smell food so he made his way to his cabinet to fetch his things.
He grabbed his glasses and put them on while he turned about to ask what they had for dinner but before he could do that the whole room erupted in chaos.
"GO GO NOW" Hatori screamed barely restraining his laughter while his artifacts suddenly tuner to life.
Shimazaki could feel them flying, closely circling him but besides that he could hear them. His expartners laughing. Laughing so much they were almost wheezing
"Oh my god" exclaimed Shibata trying to stiffle his laugh with his free hand. The other was busy holding something that made a clicking noise.
"THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN I THOUGHT" Hatori cackled pointing at him.
Even Minegishi had bursted laughing!
Shimazaki didn't know what was happening but he knew something was happening and he didn't like it.
With a swift movement he took down all of Hatori's devices, one after another.
"NOOOOO" Hatori screamed "MY BABIES"
Once the artifacts were destroyed Shimazaki turned and launched himself at their vey own creator.
Hatori yelped traying to scurry away from him but Shimazaki was too fast.
Or he would have been if it werenct for the fact Shibata tacklee him before he could reach the little pest.
"Don't even think that" the big man growled as if that was enough to stop him.
Without wasting another second Shimazaki teletransported behind Hatori and with a strong kick slammed him against Shibata sending them both flyin to the nearest wall.
He was about to punch a hole in them when a sturdy vine wrapped around hos arm stopping him.
"Shimazaki stop" Minegishi exclaimed in a low menacing voice.
"You psycho! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" Hatori, now surrounded by a bunch of floating stuff ready to be thrown screamed.
Provoked, Shimazaki threw himself once again agains the smaller esper "You were laughing!"
"IT WAS A PRANK JACKASS" Hatori yelled reflexively raising his arms forming a protective barrier.
But it wasn't needed because that actually made Shimazaki stop.
"A prank?" was all he was able to say before a wave of vines encircled him and threw him to the floor.
"Yes idiot. A prank." Minegishi walking to where they were and looking down at him "If you had calmed down we could have explain it to you"
Minegishi glared at the bounded man below him. He knew Shimazaki could free himself in any moment. Shimazaki knew it too, afterall he wasn't squirming instead he stayed put glaring at Minegishi waiting for an explanation.
Or at least he tried. He was stilk wearing the toy glasses and if it wasn'tfor the sight of his destroyed apartment Minegishi would have laughed again.
The final tally after everything was cleaned and accounted for included Hatori's phone, Minegishi's toaster and coffe maker (which Hatori had used to build the flying wifi connected cameras and then Shimazaki utterly destroyed) a broken lip from Hatori (though he alleged he had a broken rib too), an unconcious Shibata (who took all the brunt of hitting the wall and that Minegishi had to use his vines to drag and lay to rest on the sofa) and a huge whole on the wall where Shibata had landed, completely fracturing it (Minegishi could consider himself lucky that it hadn't been one of the buildings support walls).
And an annoyed Shimazaki who was too impatient to wait for them to pick up the place.
"Toy glasses...?" Shimazaki dubiously said when they finally explained what all that had been about. He had taken them off and now was moving his hands along feeling them.
"Yes. They are dumb, they are stupid. You didn't have to punch our guts but who cares? You are welcome" Hatori said curtly. He was pissed seated on the sofa at the end of Shibata's feet trying to fix his phone to not succes which only pissed him more.
Minegishi sighed tiredlyb it was too late for this. "We just want to take some photos of you wearing them. We thought it would be fun-"
"How are they?" Shimazaki interrumpted
"What?"
"How do they look?" Shimazaki suddenly asked seriously. He had stopped touching the glasses and was now frowning at them.
"Uhhh...They are pink?"
"Pink?"
"Yeah! pink you dumbfu-" Hatori snapped but stopped himself when he saw the confused look Shimazaki was throwing at him "Of course you don't know what pink is.. "
He groaned and turned to look at Shibata for help but the man was still passed out.
"Pink...is this color...like red and white?"
"..."
"It's for girls!" hatori said throwing up his hands in surrender "Minegishi can you help me out"
"They are pink" Minegishi continued shaking his head " Amd they have this swirly cartoon eyes that wink when you move them-"
"Wink?" Shimazaki asked again looking more confused.
"Yes, they wink. It's an effect. Don't think too hard about it-"
"What is this?" Shimazaki said picking apart one of the leaves. "Is it a plant?"
"Yep. Minegishi put them so they weighted the same as your glasses. It worked!" Hatori said in a better mood. As if the fact they managed to trick Shimazaki made him happier "They looked like angry eyebrows. Frowning eyebrows"
"Frowning?"
"Yes. like you are doing at this very moment" Minegishi said casually pointing at Shimazakis face.
Shimazaki brought a hand to his forehead and lightly patted his eyebrows.
Minegishi ws about to keep talking describing the stupid glasses when the unthinkable happened.
One...two...three...snickers escaped Shimazaki's mouth and before he or Hatori could understand what was happening he was chuckling.
"OH MY GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING? IS HE HAVING AN ATTACK?" Hatori asked panicked and Minegishi couldn't blame him for that.
It's not that they had never heard Shimazaki laugh.

Super5 headcanons part 5
Minegishi sighed.
"For the last time I won't help you sell Shimazaki on ebay" minegishi stopped cutting the vegetables and turned to look at him with what in any other person would have been a raised eyebrow "I dont even think it is possible"
"Who would even buy him?" Shibata helpfully added from where he was washing the dishes "Besides world domination our friend... doesnt seem to be that useful for anything else"
Hatori stared when Minegishi just silently nodded
"I dont know! But thats not the point" grunted Hatori while shaking his head "it's time for some retaliation-"
"so your idea for retaliation...is to sell him on ebay?" deadpanned Minegishi. Hatori wasnt dumb, he could hear the snicker behind that flat expression.
"Laugh all you want!" hatori said pointing an acussatory finger to Minegishi "But I am tired of letting Shimazaki do whatever he wants with us without facing any consequence!"
"Are you still mad about the raccoon thing?" Shibata laughed and dried his hands to pat Hatori on the back " C'mon Hatori! It was just one rabies shot and the doctor said it was just in case "
Hatori flustered when this time Minegishi openly snickered "You got rabies shots? Arent you supposed to get those as kids?"
"why would i know? Do you even have yours?" hatori mumbled embarrased
This made Minigishi stop laughing "I dont know"
"Aha!" exlaimed Hatori completely forgetting his embarrasment to latch on this "what if that bastard decides to bring ANOTHER raccoon in here?!"
"He wouldn't-"
"Are you sure? Absolutely sure?"
At Minegishis lack of response Hatori exclaimed victoriously "See? And this is why you have to suport me on my plan!"
"Sell him on ebay you say..." Minegishi muttered while tapping the kitchen counter with his fingers
"You cant be seriously considering this Minegishi" Shibata said increduously "Have you lost your minds? We arent selling our friend on internet."
"Hes not my friend" hatori quipped
" And I never said i agreed on selling him on ebay" Minegishi continued "But Hatoris right and its time we put to some limits on him"
"YES"
"And thats why we should talk to him instead of THAT"
"SHIBATA NOOOO"
"Shibatas right"
"NOOOOOOO" Hatori cried miserably, victory had been so close "whyyy?
"Im sorry buddy but thats the right and mature thing to do" said Shibata not sorry at all
"Hatori stop whinning and go set the table so we can finally eat"
Minegishi rolled his eyes at Hatoris sulking form and finished cooking with Shibatas help
Once he entered the living room to place the finished food on the table he noticed Hatori glancing around dubiously
"Is something wrong?"
" I was just wondering if i should put another set. Is the bastard going to eat with us?"
"Speaking of which" called Shibata entering the room behind Minegishi with the last of their homemade food "Where is he?"
" i don't know" shrugged Minegishi " he was annoying me because he was bored and you were late and i told him to go and find something else to do before i choked him"
"And he just did as he was told?"
"I had to threaten him with starvation and not buying his cereal first but it worked"
Shibata hummed "He probably went dog sighting"
"Probably"
"How long was that?"
"Like 5 minutes before you arrived"
" Then it will be a while before he returns"
Minegishi shrugged again "I wouldnt worry about him"
They were hawlfway throught their food when Hatori noticed something In shimazakis makeshift cabinet
"Are those his glasses?"
Minegishi turned to where Hatori was pointing "yes"
"I thought he wore them always" shibata wondered
"I guess he did listen when I complained about dogs saliva on the glasses if he is indeed dog sighting"
"Im pretty sure he is" Shibata said confidently "Dog saliva? Really?"
"Yeah between that and paws stains on his clothes..."
"oh, i know! The first time was really difficult to get rid of the stench of trash but i found..." Shibatas words died in his mouth when he saw Hatori stand up to pick the glasses.
Minegishi stared confused "What are you doing?"
Hatori didnt respond and when he made his way to his forgotten backpack Shibata facepalmed.
"Buddy, no. Did you seriously bought those?"
Hatori turned around with a devilish smile on his face while clearly hiding something behind his back. "Well i actually never thought you would help me with the ebay plan"
Minegishi looked at Shibata with a look that said he clearly was expecting some kind of clarification.
"We passed a toy store on our way here and Hatori saw... something. I cant explain. Just show him already" said Shibata shaking hs head clearly dissapointed.
Hatori proudly revealed the things on his hands
It was two pair of glasses. One were shamazakis and the others were one of those funny looking glasses for disguises with crazy swirly colourful cartoon eyes that seemed to wink when moving around and stupid antennaes that ended in a pink cotton ball hanging from the sides.
It was the stupidest thing Minegishi had ever seen.
"You do realize he wont fall for this. Do you?" Minegishi deadpanned once again "He will immeditaley feel the movement of those antennaes"
"Have more faith in me" huffed Hatori while taking off the apparently removable antennaes making the glasses look a little less stupider, but stupid nonetheless.
Minegishi picked both glasses and turned them around. He had to give some credit to Hatori. He managed to find a pair with the exact same shape as Shinazakis and made with the same cheap plastic. They were perfect ...except for one thing.
"They don't weight the same" minegishi said raising the toy glasses. To be honest he wasnt sure, but it was an educated guess.
"You gotta be kidding me right?" Hatori exclaimed "who cares? He wont even notice that!"
Fucj this shit i quit
